On Writing: Plotbunnies and Escalation
One writing hazard is falling down a research rabbit-hole, where you end up reading up on things like ancient Greek loom weights despite your story being neither ancient, nor Greek, nor about weaving at all. Another writing hazard, also tied to research though possibly more productive, is... escalating bunnies.
You know, the kind that start from a simple, “gee, a vampire paladin would be really neat if I could pull it off; would it work better xuanhuan-style in ancient Korea?”
You’d think that would be an innocent question. Until you start reading up on the various times and kingdoms occupying the Korean Peninsula pre-modern times. Which is when the bunnies start to escalate.
“I don’t want to do a generic in-the-past thing. I ought to pick a specific section of history so I have a good idea what would be going on, even if I do make it fantasy. Hmm, I know a bit of the Tokugawa Era in Japan, that might be a place to start given I know Toyotomi Hideyoshi invaded Korea in 1592....”
Said innocent thought leads to reading up on the Imjin War. Interesting stuff. If eep.
“...Maybe that’s a little too interesting. I couldn’t have characters running off on Adventures without worrying about battles over the next ridge. And I’m not up to writing major battle scenes. Maybe a little later than that? What else was going on? Outside of some Pilgrims hijacking a ship to go to New England, of all places, during the Little Ice Age....”
Cue Little Ice Age research jaunt, especially a big thick book on said age all over the known world. Cue even more eep.
“So there’s info on China here but not much on Korea specifically. Though I know they were into astronomy as much as China, and there were some interesting supercomets in recorded history....”
Cue reading up on supercomets, old speculations on space spores, and modern known facts on organic compounds in comets. During which the bunnies are quiet. One might even say, suspiciously quiet.
“Huh, maybe I should check if there’s any books specifically on China that at least are in the right time for the Little Ice Age-”
(Yes. Yes there are. At least one is very specific.)
Cue stumbling into all kinds of weirdness from the 1500s on, great backstory for an ageless cultivator character (ah, xuanhuan flavor!) that also drags in European explorers, Jesuits, the whole mess with possibly seditious priests plotting to take over Japan, and a whole chain of events that could plausibly connect hummingbirds, the Manila galleons, and an ancient vampire.
Currently staring at plot and notes. “I was trying to just write a good final battle against shark-pirates. What do you mean I need to study Yi Sun-sin’s maneuvers in the Roaring Strait?”
...Bunnies. Sigh.

West of the Sun, East of the Moon Explanation
Main Text • Glossary
So this is the second longest story I’ve ever written, clocking in at 31 printer pages if you condense the formatting. And that’s not including this or the dictionary I whipped up!
In terms of Ada, this started because of the Avatar the Last Airbender (ATLA) resurgence of 2020. If you know anything about ATLA, you know the show is largely based on East Asian cultures, with little bits of Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia and Alaskan cultures thrown in. The Fire Nation is largely based on Japan with SEAsian tidbits. The Earth Kingdom is largely based on China, Korea, and a little bit South and West Asia. The Air Nomads and the Air Nation are based by Himalayan cultures. The Northern Water Tribe is basically a European fantasy country with enough ice and Alaskan culture details to make it seem different. The Swamp Tribe is SEAsian inspired. And the Southern Water Tribe is the most based on Eastern Russian and Alaskan cultures (this including those cut off by the USA/Canadian border) prior to colonization, with a bit of Indigenous Australian flair in terms of Sokka’s boomerang, but is the least portrayed and the least accurate of the show.
I follow a blog called mostly-mundane-atla (MMA) on Tumblr, and they’re Iñupiat. They talk about the show from an actual Indigenous Alaskan perspective, share details from various cultures from that area, nuances that the show missed out upon, and hold a little art festival called Kuspuk week. As the show mimics the early era of colonization for Alaskan peoples, that would mean kuspuks would exist, as they were an invention of that period. But the show keeps its Water Tribe members in parkas, to make them feel (to a less knowledgeable audience) more simple and old-fashioned. A choice with which MMA strongly disagrees, as it distances and romanticizes audiences from actual Indigenous peoples alive today. To put it plainly, they’re tired of that treatment, which is very common in media. MMA wants more modern representation! Indigenous people are NOT extinct and remnants of the past - they are alive!
All this to say, West of the Sun, East of the Moon (WSEM) was inspired by MMA’s efforts to encourage accurate portrayals of living Indigenous people, especially Indigenous Alaskans.
The tale, originally called ‘East of the Sun, West of the Moon’, is one of my favorite fairy tales - I think one of the first adaptions I read was Edith Pattou’s East. It fits into the Cupid and Psyche type tales, which to modern audiences would likely be grouped under ‘Beauty and the Beast’ type tales. I love those types of stories to bits and pieces. But frankly, it’s been done a billion times, and the combination of ‘white girl with non-white Beast man’ has definitely been overdone.
But when my pan-but-in-the-closet Dominican-American friend Laurie, on whom Dani is based, and who also enjoys those types of romances, nearly moved to Alaska for a nursing degree oppurtunity, I had an idea. Instead of writing a story about a white girl trapped into learning to accept a Man of Color despite his rough edges and (to her) peculiarities (also known as cultural elements outside those of the majority), what if
The ‘bear’ was a nonbinary lady
The ‘bear’ was not cursed. Many tales make becoming an animal a punishment, and many modern fantasy movies especially put this punishment on characters of color. For example, the majority Disney movies that have a main character of color have that character spend the majority of the run-time in different bodies. It’s an institutional racism thing, not wanting to depict People of Color as much and feeling the need to punish them in this way.
The ‘bear’ was in a happy, comfortable environment
The ‘girl’ chose to be there far more willingly, and can leave far more easily.
The ‘bear’ and ‘girl’ get together at the beginning and like each other.
The ‘bear’ actually helps the ‘girl’ explore her own aspects of her heritage she repressed to fit with the majority
The ‘bear’ does not have to mimic all recognizable signs of (Western, colonialistic) civility to be loved prior to being ‘fixed’
For again, the ‘bear’ does not need to change and stays a ‘bear’
The ‘bear’ gets to keep his bear form. I always thought it was lame that he couldn’t turn back if he so desired. And besides, the ‘bear’ type character should not have to give up all that makes them not align with what is normal for the majority.
The ‘girl’ learns to detach herself from her unhealthy family but not reject her roots
The ‘bear’ is not the only one keeping secrets - in this story, the ‘girl’ tortures herself with her instinct to bite her tongue, after years of crap from her family.
The ‘girl’ is not punished by outside forces for her mistrust - it’s very self-inflicted. But also, the ‘bear’ is not blameless either. In both the traditional and WSEM versions, the ‘bear’ IS keeping secrets.
The ‘bear’ being a bear is not made out to be the crux of the problem, but rather their lack of communication. Though all the Cupid and Psyche stories have this problem, few lay it out plainly, frustrating more maturing readers into yelling about how they’re stupid because they cannot tell each other the truth. In reality, while honesty is the best policy, the little reasons to keep such things to yourself grow quickly and crush one’s soul - it takes a lot to make coming clean feel worth it after a while. Even to the detriment of a loving and worthwhile relationship. I’m not saying I’m a rocket scientist for writing it this way, I just know a couple years ago I would not have had the life experience to understand it.
The plot still hinges on inopportune candles a bit, so I’m pleased about that. But I decided to up the ante a bit by also making other light phenomena relevant to the story. While Disney’s Brother Bear is another example of romanticizing and distancing Alaskan cultures, I adored it as a kid and still love its art and the memories it made. Especially in that it made me fall in love with the idea of seeing the Northern Lights.
I made sure this story was set in this year, 2024, because we’re actually at the height of a 12 year magnetic cycle! From summer 2024 to 2025, the auroras will be brighter, more frequent and reach much further than usual. In fact, on May 12th, they actually reached as far south as Georgia! I was asleep though, I’m actually devastated I missed it. Hopefully this strong cycle reaches this far south again. But I digress - I figure seeing a fogbow, sunrise and sunset on Ada and Dani’s oceans, AND the northern lights would be pretty cool.
Another cool theme that runs throughout is food. MMA points out that traditional Alaskan cuisine is often seen as weird and backwards, but essentially is no different from sushi. Many Alaskans did not have a lot of wood for fuel, and plants are scarce in the winter, and so they developed a safe way to eat qassaq and quaq! It’s pretty ingenious, and I’d like to try it one day. I love seafood. (Yes Annika is my self-insert character.) Combined with my enjoyment of the show Dungeon Meshi this year, and my interest in helping combat the stigma surrounding foods not often cooked by white Americans, I wanted the story to center around food and how availability and environment affects cuisine*. Lots of immigrant parents dearly miss food from home, and Laurie’s family was no different. Every time I slept over her house, her mom made crêpes. As a kid I didn’t like them, but as an adult I’d like to try them again! My palate used to be comically narrow.
Speaking of Laurie, let’s talk about Dani! Dani and her family are very similar to Laurie and her family, though I don’t think was able to capture Laurie’s quick wit very well. Limits of the author, etc. Laurie’s real name is similar to Dani, and so is the way her mother says her name, I always loved hearing her say it. Laurie does have severe reactions to heat, and swears up and down one of these days she’s going to move up north. Currently she’s thinking Germany, but she’s trying to get her degree first.
Dani’s reconnection to her Dominican and Karifuna heritage is not the focus of the story, aside from the scene where she gets her hair done, but it kind of occurs on the sidelines. She slightly speaks more Kwéyòl as the story goes on, she opens up about her heritage, she starts wearing her hair in a more natural fashion, and starts wearing earrings inspired by Garífuna ⁂ art.
Laurie feels constrained by her life. I’m not sure I’ll ever show this to her, but I wanted to create a little world where she’s free to be who she would like to be and do what she wants and love who she without guilt. Dani never wears skirts for a reason.
Ada is based on my friend Rose (though she’s more feline than ursine) and my attempts at making a more modern Indigenous person with MMA’s ideas in mind. Ada is trans but doesn’t feel pushed to perform complete femininity - hence they keep their mustache. A lot of Asian and Indigenous people have difficulty growing facial hair, and I like to think that Ada is proud of it.
She does have a lot of tuniit (The puberty on, the self-sufficiency and the ready for marriage ones), which was specifically a woman tradition. Men rarely got or did tattoos. She gets her kakiniit done off screen but during the course of the story. Her wrists have a bunch of y-shapes on it to show that she has the tools to hunt and take care of herself. She likes to hunt! MMA said that while these tattoos are highly personal, they would rather more Indigenous Alaskan characters have them than not. Just like with the tattoos of the Māori and other Pacific Islander cultures, they’re making a comeback! So unlike my Whale Rider adaption, I did end up drawing tattoos. Plus I gave Ada spider bites because I thought they fit with her look. Both her tattoos and piercings were later additions. I did adapt a Nunavut Inuit story a while back, ‘Lumaaq & Loon’, and I did not draw tattoos on either the mom or the sister. I think I would now, but still not draw the tattoos for Whale Rider. Regardless, what was done is done.
Rose DOES know about this character, and wanted to see more transfem characters where their trans-ness is relevant to the story. Thus, Ada going from using exclusively they/them to also using she/her.
Ada being a WEIOlympian activities as well as being a great cook was an addition that kind of came to me as I wrote the story. I knew I wanted to include Nalukataq, because that seemed really fun and because Laurie/Dani like festivals. And since I drew the pictures before doing the writing (and thus more research) I did not realize that doing flips at Nalukataq is pretty top tier stuff. So yeah, I wasn’t going to redraw that lol.
Ada is from two Indigenous peoples because many Indigenous people are mixed! Sometimes parents marry outside their race or even just to neighboring peoples, but since Indigenous people are not a monolith, that makes them mixed. And since the USA government (I am unsure about the other colonizing governments) requires a person to be a certain amount of just one nation in order to be considered legally native, many lose their rights as legally Indigenous people despite possibly having no other heritage. It’s a system designed to squeeze people out of their rights and heritage, which is crazy.
But since a lot of Indigenous representation, especially ones from or set in older times, portray mostly unmixed people, mixed Indigenous characters don’t get a lot of representation! Even if they’re still completely Indigenous!
So Dani is both Iñupiat and Yup’ik, with a hint towards maternal white heritage that is not explored. They’re Iñupiat because I wanted them to have family up in Utqiagvik, and Yup’ik because I wanted them to have family in Kotzebue/Qikigtagruk (K/Q). I set the story in K/Q because I wanted to learn more about the southern end of coastal Alaska ever since I read Michaela Goade’s ‘Berry Song’ book for one of my education classes (it was a class everyone had to take about fostering literacy). While Ms. Goade is from the Tlingit and Haida nations, which are further south and east, I went down a berry rabbit hole for a while. Her illustrations made everything look so pretty and delicious. But I did not want to set the story as far south as her island on the edge of a wide, wild sea, because polar bears are not found that south. I could’ve made Ada a grizzly or a Kodiak or even a pizzly bear, but it did not feel the same. And besides, MMA pointed out that Indigenous Alaskans aside from the Inuit/Iñupiat don’t get as much attention, because they aren’t generally located in the stereotypically icy areas that are romanticized, like the tundra. As such, Ada is both Yup’ik and Iñupiat.
And they’re also a bear. I spent hours figuring out their lore for being a bear, and it didn’t come up naturally in the story *at all*, especially since Ada and Dani set reasonable boundaries about secrets, so I’m going to dump the bearlore here.
A lot of peoples in Alaska really respect bears, especially polar bears. Many believe/d that animals who were especially powerful, like bears, could shapeshift to human at will. And powerful angakkuit could shapeshift into animals - bears being on the impressive side.
Also, many Alaskans believe in a type of reincarnation. For example, if you live in a small village and your grandmother dies, then the next baby born is her! The baby might not be a girl, but they both will have the exact same atiq. So regardless of a baby’s sex, they were named after the latest person who passed away.
Combining this together: once upon a time, a powerful angakkuq was an incredible polar bear shifter (I’m not going to route where he was always a polar bear). He died, and his atiq was passed on, and on, and on, until an Iñupiat woman named Ada❧ was born. She eventually died of old age. Barbara, our Ada’s mom, did not keep up with the atiq/naming tradition, partly because Ada was assigned male at birth and partly because she was still reconnecting. So when Ada started turning into a polar bear around puberty, the two of them had to figure things out quickly. When Ada finally realized who they got their powers from, they changed their name to Ada.
Ada started out as a polar bear cub. She used to change when sad, but can now do it at will. Her polar bear form can only age when she stays in that form. As such, while Ada is in her late twenties, her polar bear form has barely reached adulthood. Similar phenomena with illnesses, injury, hunger and thirst. If a polar bear only gets hungry every 12 hours, then if Ada are in polar bear form right before returning to human form, she has another 12 hours as a polar bear before she needs to eat again.
Alright, I’ve talked inspiration, characters, timelines - let’s get on to the art!
The title picture was something I whipped up two years ago, when I was blowing though title pictures when because they were easy and didn’t require knowledge about any changes to the stories I would make. Well, I was wrong. To reflect that I moved the setting to a (nearly) opposite longitude, I changed the ‘directions’ in the title. To be quite honest, the title does not make as much sense anymore, because the ‘girl’ character Dani does not travel to an unknown land, but the name strikes my fancy, so that’s that. As such, it is now WEST of the Sun (like how when Ada and Dani were west of the sunrise in New Jersey), and EAST of the Moon (like how when Dani drove Ada home, they were east of the moonset.) I’ve included the original below, so you can compare the versions and how I moved things around. The letter ‘t’ is supposed to look like a little star! Also I forgot to include the Iñupiat or Yup’ik version of the title.
The second picture was the one I finished first, though it took two weeks. I’m somewhat unsatisfied with how I portrayed Ada’s progression from bear to human, but it’s done. Dani’s glasses gave me a hard time. I actually drew and inked this one before I decided Ada wasn’t a guy (see the next sketch)(to be honest old-Ada looks like one of my classmates). I changed them digitally after I took the picture of the actual drawing. The window is probably a bit large for such a cold area, but it’s a sacrifice of realism for artistic purposes.
The third picture was probably the one that suffered most/caused most suffering because I drew it before writing the story. I didn’t include a big enough crowd, I could’ve drawn Barbara, and I ended up editing Dani’s hairstyle to fit into the timeline. BUT. It is finished, and I did a decent job of portraying a flip and a truck! I hate drawing cars nearly as much as I dread drawing horses. This is the fourth to last story to draw for this long coloring book project and I’ve been avoiding horses for a bit now. As both Ada and Dani lean more towards feminine, both wear female kuspuks, which have a bit of a skirt on the bottom. But it’s not a skirt in place of pants, so it does not count. Here’s a picture I drew a couple years ago for MMA’s Kuspuk week, featuring the character Jet as a nalukataq.
On the back end of the truck is a red hand MMIWG sticker. MMIWG, which stands for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, is a call to attention the disproportionate crime against Indigenous ladies. They are six times more likely to get murdered, attacked and/or disappeared in comparison to the average American and Canadian woman, which skews white. As modern Indigenous AND female characters, it would have felt wrong not to include such a reference. If you ever see somebody with a red handprint over their mouth, it’s a good indicator that they are aware and support survivors and families of MMIWG.
The naluaqtit are just random faces basically.
The fourth picture was the last one I finished (if you don’t count the title picture). It was honestly a bit of a breather for me, as I’m pretty good at drawing faces. Though I did overdo the lip on Ada’s polar bear form, and had to erase it digitally later. I wanted to draw a kunik and later a kiss as both equally important loving gestures, and that’s why they each get their own picture. I probably should have drawn them closer, but I’m going to say Ada has a strong nose in that form, as most polar bears do.
Last picture was an exercise in clothing and kisses mostly. I wanted to get the wrinkles and the positioning just right. They’re both things I avoid. I’m pretty pleased with how I drew Dani’s shoes. Ada’s shoes are heels I like looking at, but they hurt my feet so I can never wear them.
As the last four stories illustrated (though in my original plans, they’re split across different volumes) I wanted each to reference my Snow White adaption in some way, as that was the first I finished, and in my head these stories are grouped in fours.
4. West of the Sun, East of the Moon: Ada’s final outfit is based on Snow White’s wedding outfit in my version, which in turn is based on the dress Disney’s Snow White wears for most of the movie.
3. Chantha Rasphone: the Magic Mirror that the stepmother uses to spy on Snow White finally becomes a character! It ended up being a bit more affable than I originally intended, but I’m still growing as an author, please extend me some grace. The Mirror, or Spejo (Spay-hoe) as it is called in Chantha Rasphone, appears in Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Swan Lake, Aladdin, The Snow Queen and now Chantha Rasphone. I would be happy to talk more about it, but that’s for a different explanation, methinks. I’m getting distracted.
2. Tatterhood: this is a stretch, but I finally made a dwarf lady a main character! In Snow White, it does not get very explored, but her best friend is a girl named Valentine, who is descended from a colony of dwarfs† who escaped being court slaves. A helpful, magical dwarf (like in the Nose Tree, though in my adaption the dwarf is Valentine and not the usual male) and a mischievous, evil dwarf (like in Snow White & Rose Red, a story I thought a lot about adapting but ran out of time) are stock characters in many fairy tales. But rarely are they the focus! I’ve only ever (casually) came across one published stlry that had a dwarf main character, ‘Jepp, who Defied the Stars’ by Katherine Marsh (it’s excelent). I figured I could add to the number!
1. The Acacia Tree: the second to last picture is of the evil stepmother looking into a mirror. It’s not going to be The Mirror, Spejo, but it’s a reference to the second (non-title) picture in my Snow White, where the stepmother looking in the Magic Mirror to see some form of her stepchild. I wanted to end and begin on such a story.
I’m proud of a lot of the sketches, and Ada changed quite a bit, so I’m including a bunch of sketches.
*I barely touched on how much economics affect food - which is a TON. But I also wanted to write a story based on stereotypical Romance Movie rules, where money does not come up too often and everyone is at least *okay* financially. While many romances do feature economic differences, I did not want that to be an issue for these characters. It is sadly one of the more fantastical aspects of my story. But it’s also a story with a woman who turns into a bear. So work with me here. ⁂ Garífuna is a a maroon culture [Black and Indigenous] from St. Vincent. While Dominica and St. Vincent are about 200 miles away from each other, they’re close neighbors in terms of sea and history. The Garífuna have a similar though distinct culture as the mixed peoples of Dominica. I could not find much in the way of explicitly maroon art of Dominica, but I did run across the art found in the Garífuna Museum of Los Angeles and based Dani’s earrings off paintings from there.
❧ Our Ada is named after Ada Blackjack, an Iñupiat woman who got stranded on the uninhabited Wrangel Island for nearly two years, alone for eight months except for a pet cat, Victoria. She had joined an expedition as cook and seamstress, all so she could pay for her son’s tuberculosis treatment. While our Ada would not get powers from this lady - I feel uncomfortable ascribing such fantasy to a real woman’s life - I liked the name and thought it would be nice to honor her legacy. It also felt like an accurate character name, as it was the name of an actual Iñupiat person. Plus, a lot of transfemmes I know like older/‘grandma’ names, so that worked out!
†The magic creature dwarf has the plural ‘dwarves’. To differentiate themselves from the mythological creature, very short humans prefer the plural ‘dwarfs’.

The people in the control room in Houston look at the screen, dumbfounded, as they saw that in the distance, around some of the ships, there are… scrapyards?!?
As they navigate the rover closer, they see that they seem to be centred on a submarine. Somehow… it’d appear someone survived this? As the rover comes to a stop and the scientists rub their temples trying to figure out how long people could have survived before they inevitably died, and what that meant for colonisation and what they could learn from autopsies and HOW to get the river to perform one, the hatch opened. What they saw, they didn’t expect: a silhouette in an old timey diving suit. The man climbed down the ladder, and it took him a minute to realise that, in the middle of the scrap, there was a rover. Scientists in Houston were… more than confused. When the man finally spotted the little machine, he froze…
After some inspection, he understood what the river was, and just headed back in. It took him some time, but soon enough four figures climbed out of the submarine and carried the river inside.
It turns out the crew had managed to use their equipment to explore the surface, and then had gathered seeds and enough to make rudimentary tools and had farmed, first in their submarine, which, when exposed to the UV lamps they used when going under for months, had grown and given them oxygen for a while. Inside, it was a strange culture mix. It turns out that there had been two surviving crews: one Russian, and one from the US. They had developed a sort of Russian-English creole, although most of them were starting to learn the other language proper. They’d initially lived in both submarines, but one had suffered more damage when a jet fighter had appeared next to it and a missile went off. Thankfully, the effects were limited. The nuclear reactor going critical would be bad. But it was just a matter of hill breach. So they moved to a single one and had been working on repurposing the reactor to start creating an atmosphere by electrolysing the water they’d found (in ice form) under the surface, when mining to obtain metal to build new materials. Evidently, they hadn’t been the first to survive, but they were the last ones. And they had never seen any other group, just what they had left. The Cold War had been long and submarines had ended up on Mars on several occasions. This crew seemed not aware that said war was over. Which made sense, as some discussion between NASA scientists and the defence department had revealed the submarine disappeared in November 1988. These people had bees stranded nearly 9 years on a different planet… and they seemed fine!
After some calculations, it turned out that the thick walls of the submarines might have been enough to protect them from the Martian radiations.
And so communication was… more than slow. Pathfinder replied by moving its arm to draw letters. And the stranded crews had to write messages on their whiteboard.
Quickly, a rescue mission was planned. But as the calculations for a Mars rocket with a return stage were made, a second one was done with a rocket that could launch directly from Mars and be encased in some kind of protecting shell, as experiments were done to try and work out how to trigger the Bermuda Triangle wormhole point as it was being called. Because of the hazard the BTWP represented, all traffic was being deviated. The news was spreading around the world like wildfire, and regularly curious (or outright foolhardy) citizens had to be stopped by the various coast guards of countries bordering the triangle, or their Air Force or marines, as well as the Russian forces helping out and most NATO nations who felt like they should be participating in keeping the place safe. France sent forces from Guadeloupe and Martinique, China and India even offered their help, although the Middle Kingdom had to be reminded several times to not send their military in there and try to kickstart the BTWP as it could be a danger to other forces within the triangle.
Soon enough, efforts were concerted enough and with enough funding and workforce that transport of objects was achieved. After sending some mechanical pieces and an audio and video system, instructions on Mars were to run tests on anything that went through. Food was confirmed safe, and so was water. Provisions were sent to help the people stranded. A large number of spacesuits refitted with diving air tanks were sent over. This would allow the crew to jump into them without preparation in the cast of an emergency. Although it was clear that items landed at somewhat random places in an area around 30 squared kilometres, and that orientation and velocity were also somewhat unpredictable, which made sending more delicate items difficult. Not to mentions, if the triggers for small objects had been found, the energy required for large objects even the size of the submarine that had landed the involuntary colonists there was many times what could be produced on the go for experiments in the middle of the sea. The working theory was that tropical storms or even hurricanes affected energy levels across the triangle enough that the passage was big enough for a ship.
After months of research, they still weren’t anywhere close to finding these people a way home, and so it was decided to try and send humans. Volunteers were selected amongst test pilots and astronauts, and test were run. Conclusive tests. These couple people brought with them the best of oxygen generators, UV lamps, small-scale hydroponics and other survival basics. Experimentation had made it clear that, as far as anyone could tell, the journey was one way. So there was no choice but to fly off of Mars and then back to Earth.
Then a skeleton crew of engineers were send, along with many, many parts. First, vehicles were assembled, to go about Mars more easily. Then, metallic structures and buildings, including new and improved shelter. Then, within those buildings, more parts were assembled into engines, functional fairings, crew pods… there were around 70 survivors from both submarines, and, with the 7 people who had followed them on Mars, it was decided that the safest way back — and easiest way to build the rockets — would be to have 9 separate rockets each holding a dozen people. And so, tje engineers got to work. And eventually, 9 extra pilots made the journey, after two died from particularly bad landings. It seemed almost as if the teleport field wasn’t aware that objets were moved after they landed. One was dropped from too high after a large pile-up of galions had been cleared to make way for a future rocket, and the other had been suffocated inside scrap pile, somehow seeming to have merged with the metal at the centre of it.
But eventually, the first rocket was built, and a pilot flew it with some of the people initially marooned on Mars in 1988. Then the second one was completed and took off. As the first finally reached earth and tje capsule detached from the engines before plummeting through the atmosphere to land as any good Soyuz capsule in the ocean, the third rocket was being built. But a collapse killed 3 people. One of the original submarines crew, and two engineers. The rocket had been damaged, and more parts were sent, along with two new engineers. Unfortunately, 2 minutes and 34 seconds after takeoff, the damage caught up with the third rocket and it exploded mid flight. The lack of fast enough ground telemetry data meant that the problems were not analysed quickly enough by scientists and the escape system wasn’t engaged in time. Everyone mourned the loss, but the people on Mars more so that back on Earth. The second capsule landed. New safety rules implemented. A fourth rocket was build. Then a fifth. The fourth landed. The fifth suffered failure mid-flight, and 2 people died of hypoxia before it all could be fixed. The sixth rocket failed to launch. Ignition just didn't happen, and so the whole first stage was taken apart. But another accident led to an engineer dying. A new one arrived, and the sixth rocket launched. Rocket 7 flew without any issues. Rocket 8, however, had to be abandoned mid-flight. It started to dive back after a failed gravity turn, so the crew ejected, and watched as the lower stages spun around completely, bending the rocket, before it exploded and cause their capsule to spin away, blown by the shockwave. Luckily, the parachutes meant stability was regained, and thrusters did their job of slowing the capsule down just before impact, but if they had been a second slower, they might have all gone up in smoke with the rocket. So, more parts were sent, and rockets 8 and 9 were built. In the last one, all the engineers boarded, and so humans left Mars for the first time in years.
Many bodies had been left there, on Mars, not really to rot, as there were no bacterias or animals to decompose the bodies. But to rest. For those who had died in protective gear, the workers of this rescue operation, they had been taken out of the suits and exposed to the Martian air and its unfiltered sunlight, and quickly, all radiation had killed the few bacteria that had survived the cold temperatures of the planet and were activating any time the sun heated up the air to 21°C and the air to… well, barely any more than that, at least in the deep tissues. Some corpses were found in planes or in the belly of metal ships that had grown mouldy or had partly decayed, but for most of the bodies left on the planet? They had been preserved, even for those ships that were several centuries old. And so, the crews from the submarines set to the task of burying them. A large graveyard, outside the zone, with many thousands of stones, most unnamed, was set up. Maybe one day they would return to collect the bodies and give them a proper burial, back on the planet that had seen them born. Maybe one day they would be identified and seen and remembered. But for now they remained nameless, with photographs that were not distributed for the public, except for the most recent deaths, and only those that were formerly identified, at the request of the family.
By the time capsule 9 landed, it was the 24th of October 2006. They had been gone 8 and a half years and it had been more than 9 since the rover had landed on Mars. But what they brought back was invaluable: martian rocks, precise data on the ability to colonise the Red Planet, on its composition, especially several metres below the surface, on survivability and quality of the water there… or the mere fact that there was water! Finally, scientists gathered data about the effects of long-term exposure to solar radiation in the suits they had designed to somewhat protect the engineers. It seemed to be a success, although the calculated radiation level was higher than than maximum permitted dose of radiation set on Earth, so they would be monitored closely for years to come.
But here we were, humanity, looking to the stars once more, but also to our oceans, and wondering what this new discovery would bring, and if we could manage a return journey, even after nearly 9 years of unsuccessful tries. Whatever the answer was, this would change everything about space exploration, and soon, the Golden Age of Earth and Mars would come and humanity would spread out through the solar system, and maybe, one day, perhaps, solve the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle and how to create such wormholes.
The first rover lands on mars and NASA discovers that every boat and plane that has disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle scattered around the surface of the planet.

Research Nester assesses the growth and market size of the global offshore drilling market which is anticipated to be on account of the growing demand for heat and electricity.
New York – June 2, 2023- Research Nester’s recent market research analysis on “Offshore Drilling Market: Global Demand Analysis & Opportunity Outlook 2035” delivers a detailed competitors analysis and a detailed overview of the global offshore drilling market in terms of market segmentation by type, depth, and by region.
Rise in Urban Population to Boost Global Offshore Drilling Market
The global offshore drilling market is estimated to grow on account of the rise in urban population. Compared to rural populations, urban people have significantly higher energy needs. This can be attributed to the greater standard of living and higher energy needs of urban dwellers' lifestyles. In urban areas, the demand for energy has skyrocketed. As a result, there is a growing need for offshore drilling.
The oil and gas industry suffered a decrease as a result of high production costs and low oil prices during the petroleum exploration phase. However, as a result of increased oil prices and considerable investment initiatives, there has been a noticeable growth in recent years. This expansion of the offshore drilling market was brought on by a rise in drilling and well intervention activities in the oil and gas industry. Artificial neural networks, machine learning, and other industry 4.0 technologies have improved the productivity of drilling operators and advanced the supply chain view on drilling sites, which is anticipated to lead to an increase in drilling operations.
Some of the major growth factors and challenges that are associated with the growth of the global offshore drilling market are:
Growth Drivers:
Rise in Investment by the Government
Surge in Demand for Vehicles
Challenges:
Many governments throughout the world have introduced various restrictions and strategies to minimize petrol and diesel car emissions in response to growing environmental concerns. With plans to phase out internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, China, the United States, Germany, France, Norway, and the United Kingdom have all set particular goals for the adoption of electric vehicles. Thus, it is anticipated that the market would suffer as a result of the rising use of electric vehicles. In consequence, this would have a negative impact on the market's growth over the predicted period.
Request Report Sample@ https://www.researchnester.com/sample-request-4895
By type, the market for offshore drilling is segmented into jackups, semisubmersible, and drill ships. Amongst these, the jackups segment is expected to garner the highest revenue. However, the drillhips are also estimated to grow after jackups. Drillships have been employed in deep and ultra-deepwater lately; they have grown significantly in size and no longer have a mooring system. Instead, they are outfitted with cutting-edge data processing equipment. By managing their thrusters to fight wind, wave, and current forces, these DP systems keep a drillship's position within a narrow set of tolerance.
By region, the North American market for offshore drilling is set to grow by the end of 2035. In this market growth in the region, the petrochemical industry plays a significant driving role. Since more petrochemical products are being used in end-use industries, the petrochemical sector has grown. As a result of political and economic issues, the price of oil and gas in North America also affects market expansion. Furthermore, there has been a surge in the adoption of automobiles which is demanding more oil further influencing market growth. Moreover, there has been growing exploration of offshore resources in this region which would further boost the demand for offshore drilling in this region.
This report also provides the existing competitive scenario of some of the key players of the global offshore drilling market which includes company profiling of Transocean, Ltd., Nabors Industries, Ltd., Seadrill Limited, Saipem S.p.A., Valaris Limited, Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc., Noble Corporation, China Oilfield Services Limited, Pacific Drilling Co., KCA Deutag, and other.

Stunning jardinière! Handcrafted in the 19th Century and boasting an intricate design.
Are you looking for a decorative piece that is both elegant and historically significant? Look no further than this Hand-painted fine porcelain china Pink Jardiniere Planter with Handle. This stunning piece of fine porcelain china was originally sold at auction as part of a pair from the estate of Ringo Starr and Barabara Bach in 1995. Its hand-painted floral design is laced with pink tones and gold gilt, making it a unique and truly special decorative item. Jardinières date back to the 19th Century, when they were used by Victorian ladies as a means of covert communication. The “Language of Flowers” bloomed alongside a growing interest in botany, and potteries responded with an abundance of fashionable ceramic vessels for use in gardens and conservatories. In elegant homes, ornamental flowerpots and plant stands were called jardinières for the French word for a female gardener. This particular jardinière is a perfect example of the style and elegance of the time. Its nicely scalloped shape highlights its hand-painted gold gilt trim botanicals of cream and pink rose hues. At 6 inches tall and 7.9 inches wide, it's an impressive size with double handles, which could also be used as a centrepiece, or with champagne flutes nestled in ice or a lovely planter for your favourite orchids. Not only is this jardinière a beautiful decorative item, but it also has a rich history. It was sold by Julien's Auctions House, California, in 1995 as part of the “PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF RINGO STARR AND BARBARA BACH” sale. Later, it was sold by Brights of Nettlebed, one of the longest-established classic furniture specialists in the United Kingdom, with showrooms in Oxfordshire and London. The jardinière is in excellent condition, with its vibrant colours intact and no chips. Its 10-inch upper rim diameter and 27-inch circumference make it a substantial piece that will add sophistication and style to any room. Since my state, Georgia, is having the annual Peaches to Beaches event which is two days of statewide yard sales, I thought it would be interesting to show how America, the states, and any other countries wanting to participate both 1p and 2p would be during this event. So here you go!
Georgia is happily selling fresh produce like boiled peanuts and Vidalia onions and peach-based deserts. Her homemade peach cobbler and ice cream are to die for!
Antonio (Spain) also sells many fresh tomatoes, olives, and other vegetables. He doesn't understand why no one wants his Olive Juice though.
Hawaii and Alaska make a killing selling lemonade at their stand with a free complimentary handmade flower crown with every purchase. While using their sheer cuteness to attract everyone including one of those sweet biker gangs. It's really surreal to see a huge gang of buff, tattooed, tough-looking guys in leather wearing flower crowns and drinking lemonade. Allen's also there to supervise and ward of creep. Also, to provide people more 'incentive' to buy their lemonade.
Texas breaks out the Texas BBQ and is in a Barbecuing turf war with Jett (Australia). They draw huge crowds for the five-alarm chili as well and hold a competition who can eat the most without burning out their tongues and/or passing out.
Florida sells some of the weirdest stuff you'll ever see. "Want a full-scale model of a gator made entirely out of bottle caps? Only ten bucks! Want a portrait of Florida Man painted with orange juice? 15 bucks!"
Nevada also tries to sell weird and sketchy stuff to scam everyone. "This piece is the genuine article folks! One napkin gently used by Elvis Presley himself! Just 500 bucks! Also, gets into a haggling war with Lars (Netherlands). Somewhere Alfred's dad instincts go off and he reminds himself to ground Nevada.
California, Oregon, and Washington collaborate and California sells anything vegan or made with avocadoes and the autographs of Hollywood stars, Oregon sells his old tye-dyed shirts and records, they also made him sell his old groovy hippy bus from the sixties he'd never got rid of no one knew they had. Oregon can be a bit of a hoarder, so they had to tie him to a chair and gag him because he wouldn't surrender the bus without a fight. Washington also tries to sell and drink cups of coffee, but in the hot Southern heat, this doesn't end well.
Louisiana sells anything Cajun-style from frog legs to fresh gumbo, to beignets. Also has a full collection of Mardi Gras masks and shrunken voodoo heads on sale for two bucks a pop.
Gilbert (Prussia) gets tricked by Nevada and gets a ton of stupid things he doesn't need. Ludwig (Germany) tries unsuccessfully to keep him on a metaphorical leash.
Ludwig always checks the quality of things he sees and buys dog toys and supplies for Blackie, Berlitz, and Astor. Later, he actually buys a kiddie leash for Gilbert.
All the while Lutz (2p! Germany) is asleep in a lawn chair with his hat on his face after drinking like six cold beers from this really good booth. All the while, Klaus (2p! Prussia) finds an antique Teutonic Knights flag from a vendor whose family was from Germany.
Vash (Switzerland) buys antique guns from Alabama and Roderich (Austria) also checks out some of Tennessee's guitars. He's horrified upon seeing Alabama's banjo and washboard.
Mathew (Canada) and Emma (Belgium) combine their powers and tag team to sell the best pancakes and waffles on earth with genuine Canadian maple syrup.
New York sells tons of baseball memorabilia and collectibles. Allen, trying to save his bad-boy image, tries to be discreet when buying some while taking Hawaii and Alaska around to get something with their lemonade money. James also gets some hockey memorabilia with Michigan and Minnesota who also got snow cones.
Alaska and Hawaii see a giant deluxe dollhouse but are almost in tears when they don't have enough money. But they end up getting it for free because no one can resist their weaponized puppy dog eyes. Also, no one can resist a growling Allen. Using the leftover money, they buy cute little rainbow umbrella hats for everyone and have Allen wear one who begrudgingly accepts it.
James, walking by with an armful hockey gear and flannel shirts, bursts out laughing when he sees this. In revenge, Allen forces him to wear one too and help him carry the dollhouse, much to Hawaii and Alaska's delight! "I said go my way puck head!" "No, it's my way, you vegan loving hoser!" A passing Francis (France)' is in stylish horror when they also make him and a nonchalant Luis (2p! France), holding a case of vintage wines, wear them too. Hawaii and Alaska go around giving umbrella hats to everyone including a sleeping Lutz they pass by.
Loving (Romano) practically has to supervise Feliciano (Italy) and keep him from buying anything too stupid on impulse or get scammed. They still end up with stacks upon stacks of cookbooks, kitchen wear, and a Mona Lisa made entirely out of Macaroni. They also get umbrella hats.
Flavio (2p! Romano) browses through clothing racks to get ideas for his vintage line. Also checks out the handmade fabrics like quilts. "Such craftsmanship! This pattern is so unique and chic! I simply must have it! What's your price Bella?" The nice old woman selling the quilt just smiles, "Oh just about five dollars young man." "Perfect!" Flavio hands the quilts off to Andreas (2p! Spain) who's practically buried underneath the fabric. Luciano (2p! Italy) facepalms while holding a new knife set in its case. "Oooh! Look at those adorable hats I just have to have one." Cue three more umbrella hats and a humiliated Luciano. "Just kill me now..."
Katyusha (Ukraine), Elizaveta (Hungary), Lillie (Liechtenstein), Natalya, (Belarus), Katya( 2p! Ukraine) and Anastasia (2p! Belarus), and Michelle (Seychelles) explore with armfuls of clothes, new ribbons, and a gun case for Switzerland (Lillie), cast iron frying pans (Elizaveta, watch out Prussia!), farm tools (Katyusha), Jewelry and unmentionables (Katya), dresses (Anastasia), an assortment of switchblades (Natalya), and one of those singing fish on a plague (Michelle). It's definitely an interesting group.
Kiku (Japan) and Kuro (2p! Japan) find a nerd booth selling comics, manga, and Japanese weapons like katanas. Kuro test swings a blade and tries to slice the table so hard it breaks the blade, "Hmmm, not sharp enough for me, got anything else?" He throws it on the pile of broken blades he's already tested. Kiku stockpiles on limited-edition manga and he and the vendor end up getting into a huge, heated by Kiku standards, debate on who's waifu is best. Further down, Alfred reads every Marvel/DC comic while keeping an ear out on every state's location. He checks on Texas via his glasses and notices he's beating Australia in the chili contest. "That's my boy!"
Wisconsin wearing a cheese head sells anything cheese-based. He's got cheddar, goat cheese, string cheese, cheese spray, gorgonzola, grilled cheese, cheese curds, Mac n' Cheese, cheese sculptures of all world monuments, you name it he's got it! He also starts a war with Iowa's corn dishes and Idaho's potato dishes. They eventually end up flinging cheese, potatoes, and corn after they start dissing each other's foods. "Take this cheese brain!" "Nice aim, I-da-ho!" "I told you not to call me that!" "I'm gonna go children of the corn on y'all's behinds!" Poor Nebraska is stuck in the middle.
Alfred (America) hears the commotion and using his parent radar, immediately knows who it is and reminds himself to ground Iowa, Wisconsin, and Idaho later along with Nevada who, though still grounded for sure, makes him feel a little proud of since he managed to out haggle Netherlands.
New Mexico and Arizona also sell Native American handicrafts along with things like dreamcatchers and giant inflatable aliens. While Delaware, being the boring stick in the mud that he is, walks by with a framed and complete U.S. quarter collection from a vendor.
Kansas sells out of every sunflower she had courtesy of Ivan (Russia). Ivan and her the team up to buy out every sunflower seed from here to kingdom come. Viktor (2p! Russia) buys all the vodka he can find and a new shovel while Xiao (2p! China) tries giving people tattoos for 10 bucks a pop.
He tries to convince Yao (China) to get a hello kitty one to match the giant plushie he's holding, with the encouragement of Leon (Hong Kong) and Yong Soo (South Korea) who all collectively agree he needs to quit being such a grandpa. They also like calling him an antique-like the items on sale. " Aiyah! I'm not that old, aru!" "Yeah, you are Sensei." "Don't deny it! Da Ze!" Respect your elders!" "Tattoos originated in Korea da ze!" He totally is that old.
Oliver (2p! England) holds a bake sale and has people lined up for blocks to get some. Arthur (England), after having his scones shut down after it poisoned some unlucky squirrels, fries selling authentic magical items like unicorn hair or pixie dust. Everyone thinks he's a little crazy but he did sell a good bit of old magic books he needed to get out of his house, after making sure no one could actually use them of course.
The Nordics also went perusing for antique and handmade furniture when Mathias (Denmark) spots two full sets of Viking costumes and tries to get Lukas (Norway) to try them on with him. Lukas wasn't amused.
Berwald (Sweden) and Tino (Finland) also find a great handmade table to get after inspecting the workmanship and a full Lego set for Peter (Sealand), now if only Mathias would stop squealing like a little kid at the full piece lego death star. Emil (Iceland) keeps thinking he's the mature one until he spots a mini top hat and cane for Mr. Puffin.
In the end, everyone ends up wearing umbrella hats courtesy of Hawaii and Alaska, loving all the strange things they bought or counting the profits they made. Alfred (America) is proud of his kids and visits everyone one of their stands. He ends up looking pretty funny with an umbrella hat (HW, AK), a washboard, (AL),a picture of Florida Man, (FL), a balloon alien (NM, AZ), a tye dye shirt (CA, WA, OR), hockey stick shaped glasses (MN, MI), a giant stack of comics with a replica Thor hammer and Captain America shield on his back, all in a shopping cart (NV), and a giant turkey leg in his hand (Tx). Unsurprisingly, it was a tie between Oliver, Texas, and Australia for who earned the most with their food. Georgia just smiled as this was another great year for her state and people!

MASTERLIST
The spring day opens with the same gentle pace as the new blooms. The winter time had passed in its somber majesty. It had only brought skies of richly marbled greys and trees so elegant in their bare beauty. Those cold days for calmness and reflection are waning now. And a new spring energy will rise.
The blossom arrives like cake frosting on the trees in delicious creams and pinks. The petals burst out from lower down the branches, leaving the tips still in tight bud. The evergreens and spruces scented the air with their new growth. The trees had almost looked like dancing ladies. They wore dresses of different shades of green dresses which were more fabulous than any designer could craft. They would move in perfect harmony with each other, choreographed by the gentle breeze.
The eastern palace had been frantically scurrying around the place to clean up the last minute touches. The servants had been working all day to prepare for the garden party that would take place in the late afternoon. The gardeners had to make sure that the royal garden looked its absolute best for that special day.
The gardener (who was a little old man) had spent the whole last week working diligently on the gardens himself. He liked to shape the trees to his liking with his clippers. He groomed the bunches of flowers with his bare hand, occasionally sending some to the palace for the princess. He was also able to clean the fountain from the last winter. Now the garden would be the prime and perfect centerpiece for the garden party.
The grand tent had been set up to linger underneath some trees. The footmen had been ordered to carry the various tables and chairs out to the tent for set up. The maids would organize the tables and chairs to their liking. They placed the white lace tablecloths on top of the small white circular tables.
The ladies that worked in the kitchens were carrying out the fine china dishes. They were also starting to bring out the food that they would serve at the garden party. The little fluffy sandwiches would be served on the silver platters for it would be the main course. There were breads and biscuits that were practically tumbling over the sides of the wicker baskets on the wood table. There were small bowls of various fruits on the side, drizzled with a teaspoon of sugar. And there was one particular thing that would be a grand surprise.
A few small kettles of water were placed on the table to make warm tea. The little teabags were neatly ordered in little rows, showcasing the number of different flavors. And a little bowl of sugar was placed beside the warm kettles for a little added sweetening.
There were beautiful crystal glass pitches filled to the brim with pink lemonade. The ice buckets would come out later, so that the lemonade could be served with ice cubes for the guests. There were also a few bottles of champagne for the gentleman that didn’t really care for lemonade. There were pitchers of nice cold milk that would be served to the children. There were beads of water running down the sides of the glasses due to the cold liquid within the pitcher.
The princess of the east would be hosting her first garden party. She had spent the last couple weeks sending out invitations, choosing the foods that would be served, and organizing the decorations to her liking. She was beyond overwhelmed when the day had actually arrived.
She was telling the servants to do this and that. She had changed her mind in regards to the champagne. She found herself rearranging the setting on the guest list for the millionth time. She also made a grand request the day prior. She wanted there to be chocolate at the garden party (which was hard to come by).
The good news concerning the young couple’s courtship had rapidly spread throughout the entire kingdom. The servants whispered amongst themselves. Many of them were placing bets on the date that the royal couple would be engaged and married. The entire royal family was beyond thrilled with the news, expressing their sincere congratulations to the young couple. This garden party would be to celebrate their newfound courtship.
The three princes had found themselves walking amongst the preparation of the party in the front yard. The three of them did not pay any mind to the servants scurrying around them, frantically trying to make the last minute adjustments. They would settle their gazes on the young princess who was growing more stressed with each passing moment.
"Tell me, dear brother," Harry said with an evident smirk plastered on his face. He turned his head to look at his older brother standing beside him, tilting his head to gesture towards the princess in the short distance. "Have you kissed her yet?" Harry wondered.
"That is none of your business," Thomas said. He had been quick to avert his gaze, choosing to pretend to be focused on something else instead of having to listen to his brother’s taunting voice. Though he could feel the heat rising to his cheeks, he couldn't suppress the smile from growing on his lips. This would give away any secrecy in the matter.
"Oh...so you have kissed her,” Harry concluded. He could see the evident blush on his brother’s cheeks. He would only raise his eyebrows in amusement, chuckling to himself at the notion. "My brother has had his first kiss,” Harry exclaimed a little too loud for his brother’s liking.
In the background, the prince’s personal assistant was making sure to linger behind them. He had turned his head to search some of his surroundings, watching the servants scurry around with keen eyes. His baby blue eyes would settle on this young servant carrying a bundle of neatly folded lace tablecloths. He could have sworn he had never seen anyone more beautiful in his life.
In that give moment, the princess was fussing over this beautiful bouquet of flowers in the center of the table. She had taken one single step backwards to admire her work. She almost wondered if she had picked the right china dishes or if she should send for the other one. She just couldn’t think straight.
“You look stressed,” Thomas called. He had taken a few steps forward in his place, leaving his two brothers and personal assistant behind. He had grown to know her well over the past few months, especially during their courtship.
“I am stressed,” Y/N confessed. She had turned her head to look over the small stretch of her shoulder, staring at the three princes in her presence. She took hold of one of the white lace tablecloths from Elsie. She spread the tablecloth onto the next table. “There is still so much to do,” Y/N sighed.
“Let’s go for a walk,” Thomas suggested. He strode towards her, stopping to stand right in front of her. He could tell that she was about to make some protest, but then she began to process his words. He spoke again. “It might take your mind off things,” Thomas hinted.
The princess of the east had glanced at some of her surroundings in fear that some of the servants might catch onto the conversation between them. She was able to come up with a hundred excuses, but he simply refused to accept them. He had started to lead her away from the commotion with a hand on the small of her back. She was very reluctant to leave the front yard for a while.
The two royals were walking down the long gravel pathway of the newly opened gardens of the palace. He had caught her mumbling to herself under her breath as if she were making mental notes in her head. He had to tell her to not worry about anything. He said that he knew something that would take her mind off things.
With great precaution, the prince had brought the princess to a small stone gazebo hidden beneath the trees. He turned his head to look over the small stretch of his shoulder, checking to make sure nobody was nearby. He grasped onto the her, leading her towards the well-known hideout. He placed his hand on the small of her back, politely pushing her forward first.
The princess grabbed a handful of her skirt with both hands, lifting her skirt up so she could climb the steps. She did not hesitate to walk towards the stone wall of the gazebo. She found herself spinning around on the heels of her feet to face him, pressing her backside against the stone wall.
The prince had been following behind her. He turned his head to search some of his surroundings one last time. He quickly joined her in the privacy of the stone gazebo. He walked right up to her, so that he could press his body against her's. The coast was clear. They were alone now.
In an instant, their lips crashed together in synchronized harmony. He had carried his hand to rest below her ear, cupping her cheek with his large hand. His thumb was caressing her cheek in the most soothing manner. His other hand rested on her hip, holding her closer in his embrace. She ran her fingers over his forearms. She pulled him closer until there was no space left between them.
Their hearts were beating rapidly against their chests, threatening to break through the thin barrier. They could practically feel the blood and adrenaline pumping and coursing through their veins. They felt a rush of euphoric bliss envelop their beings, making their hearts sing with pure joy. Their hearts could barely contain the million different emotions surged through their bodies; desire, hunger love, lust.
The prince's mouth was warm; the caress of his lips gentle yet firm. He found himself tilting his head to the side to deepen their connection. He pressed his pink tongue against the seam of her little lips, begging for entrance. His tongue delved into her mouth, exploring every single aspect without any hesitation. He moaned at her sweet taste.
The princess's lips were so soft and smooth. Her lips were moving against the prince's lips as if they were two perfectly fitted puzzle pieces. She stifled a surprised gasp as his soft lips captured hers again, causing her body to flush with heat. She could feel the heat traveling through her veins, warming her heart.
The young woman was currently trapped between the stone wall and the strong prince. Though she didn't seem to mind. Her fingers were digging into the sleeve of the prince's coat, pulling him even closer to her. She refused to let him go. The obscene noises of one's saliva exchanging was streaming throughout the stone gazebo, bouncing off the hard walls. Their lips molded against each other’s perfectly. The kiss was so passionate.
In the end, the two human beings would need oxygen to survive. They had quite reluctantly pulled away from each other. They leaned forward to rest their heads together. They panted heavily to regain their breath. They stared into each other’s eyes, feeling at a loss for words.
"Thomas," the princess gasped. She breathed steadily to herself. She was lost in his gaze. “We must get married soon. I cannot bear to go another day without being able to express my love for you to the entire world. I need you," the princess begged him.
"I agree," he said. He was smiling softly down at her. He nudged the tip of his nose against her’s. "But...I need to finish sorting out a few things first. I need to finalize my inheritance, prepare for my coronation, and begin to start learning how to rule a kingdom."
There was a brief moment of silence between the two of them. She had found herself glancing between his eyes and lips, contemplating whether or not she should just kiss him right there and then. She opened her mouth to speak from her heart.
"I wish...I were an ordinary woman,” the princess of the east confessed. She lifted her hand to weave her fingers through his long locks of hair. She hummed softly to herself. “That way, we wouldn’t have to worry about hosting garden parties or sorting out inheritances. It would just be you and me...forever and always,” the princess of the east concluded.
“But you we not an ordinary woman," the prince shook his head at her. He had been so gentle to tuck a single strand of hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. He could feel her leaning her head into his embrace, holding onto his hand. "You are a princess,” the prince whispered to her.
With some hesitation, he had taken her into his arms once again. His soft brown eyes were shimmering with the strong sense of hunger and desire. It would take all of his strength to be gentle with her. He let his lips touch her’s so lightly that he could hardly feel it. He pulled away in an instant.
For a brief moment, the two royals just stood there staring at each other. Unable to resist any longer, he had stooped his head down to her height. Their mouths pressed together in a long passionate kiss. They had grown closer together until there was no visible gap between them. It was the kiss of a man who had waited years for the moment, and feared that it would never come again
His warm lips brushed against hers in the most delicate and delicious manner. He was forced to swallow the groan of pleasure that slipped past her sweet lips. She pressed her hand against his sculpted chest, memorizing the feeling of his firm hard muscle underneath her hand. She could feel his heart beating within his chest. She smiled against his lips.
When the time came, the guests had begun to arrive for the garden party. The lords and ladies were wearing some of the finest silks for the joyous occasion. The princess of the east was currently standing at the front of the tent, greeting the guests with a bright smile on her face. Her dear prince was standing right beside her.
The dukes and duchesses would bow or curtsey to the royals. They had also gone to great lengths to offer their congratulations to the young couple on their new courtship. They were so proud of the royal family at this moment.
The young children were running amongst the crowds of adult in the tent. The sound of children’s laughter could be heard throughout the courtyard. They were playing with each other. They must have been on a sugar high from all the sweets and treats.
The earls and dukes were currently playing a game of croquet in the front yard. They would use the long wooden mallets to strike the colorful balls into the metal hoops stuck in the ground. There was a servant on the sidelines who was keeping track of the score.
The marchionesses and baronesses would be found chatting amongst themselves about the latest topics and trends. The ladies could be easily found hiding underneath the tent in the cool shade. They just loved to indulge in the foods and drinks that were being served at the garden party. They were also very keen to point out how the prince was fretting and fawning over the princess.
At one point, Prince Thomas had draped a white lace shawl over Princess Y/N’s shoulders to provide some warmth and comfort. She had turned her head to look over the small stretch of her shoulder, sending him the kindest smile. She could feel his strong hands resting on the tops of her shoulders, which only brought her even more comfort.
During one of the conversations, Thomas had wanted to dismiss himself for a brief moment. He tilted his head to the side so that he could press one small kiss to her cheek. She had just barely leaned into him. She had already begun to miss his touch once he had left her side. She wanted him back right away.
The young prince had told the servants to prepare a small picnic underneath one of the shady trees. They would lay out this nice cream colored blanket on the soft blades of grass. The servants would also bring some refreshments for the royals.
Within a few short moments, Prince Thomas would return to his princess’s side. He had actually dragged her away from this boring conversation with an older duchess. He was quick to dismiss themselves from the duchess’s presence.
He had guided her towards the small scenery hidden underneath the shady trees in the short distance. He held out his hand to show her the display with a proud smile on his face. She did not hesitate to smile back at him. She picked up the skirt of her dress, stepping onto the soft blanket. She lowered herself into a proper sitting position for a princess with her legs bent to the sides. She noticed that he had joined her side on the blanket.
Slowly, Prince Thomas had poured two glasses of champagne for themselves. He had handed her the glass of bubbly golden champagne, holding his own in the other hand. He proposed a small toast to the success of her first garden party, which would only result in a small giggle from her. He clicked his champagne glass against hers in a gentle notion. He took one long sip of the gold liquid.
During this time, the princess of the east had found herself observing the garden party from a distance. She could see the two young princes talking amongst the ladies. She also saw her father speaking with the prime minister. She almost couldn’t believe that she was able to put this whole thing together. It was just perfect.
Beside her, the prince of the north was laying on his right side. He had propped himself up with his forearm. He was currently watching the game of croquet in the distance. He had a handful of green grapes in his hand, popping them into his mouth on occasion.
Slowly, the princess had turned her head to look down at the prince sitting beside her. She could see that his body was facing her, but his line of focus was directed to the game. She lay her hand to rest on top of his own.
Without hesitation, Thomas had turned his head to direct his attention back towards her. He was so taken back by her beauty. He was awestruck by the way her long locks of hair tumbled over her shoulders and the way her creamy skin was glowing in the afternoon sunlight. He was looking directly at her with such love and adoration in his eyes.
She had worn a soft cream dress for the garden party. She had these pretty little gloves with lace around her wrists. She was holding her white lace parasol in her hands, which had provided her some shade. She very easily could be mistaken for an angel from the heavens.
“What are you staring at?” she wondered. She was looking down at him with a slight tilt of the head. Her soft and kind eyes were sparking with curiosity. She quirked an eyebrow at him.
“You,” he confessed. He had been pulled away from his thoughts about her. He was quick to reach over to grab the white china bowl of small chocolate (dipped) strawberries. “Here. Try this,” he said.
The young prince pinched one of the small strawberries between his fingers, carrying it towards her light pink lips. She did not hesitate to wrap her lips around the strawberry, digging her teeth into the sweet and juicy fruit. She closed her eyes in pleasure, moaning at the wild taste in her mouth.
Very gently, Thomas pulled the green stem of the strawberry away from her mouth. He could clear see a small smudge of chocolate lingering at the corner of her lips. She had grabbed one of the cloth napkins to clean the chocolate. She lifted the napkin towards her mouth, but she was quickly stopped in her tracks.
In that moment, he had taken hold of her wrist to halt her movements. He pulled her hand away from her face, keeping a steady hand on her. He forced himself into a sitting position on the picnic blanket. He slowly leaned forward until he was only centimeters away from her face. He pressed his lips against the corner of her mouth in a simple kiss.
His tongue had slipped out of his mouth to collect the smudge of chocolate, drawing it back into his mouth. He turned his head to kiss her properly on the lips. He did not hesitate to swallow her moans of absolute pleasure. His insistent mouth had begun to part her trembling lips, sending wild tremors throughout her nerves. He would never forget the taste of her lips in that exact moment. She tasted like chocolate.

Okay, the notorious Pseudo-singularity Agartha. 9/10 people I talked to told me to skip the cutscenes but being the curious cat I am, I needed to know why this is the singularity that is most despised that even Japan hated it.
So first thing’s first..
Good things:
The setting is really pretty. The art for the scenes were well-designed aesthetically. Really good art.
Christ*pher Col*mbus being exposed for who he really is.. evil.
Astolfo and D’eon’s comedic relief in this mess of a singularity
Wu Zetian and Scheherezade being great additions to the servant roster. Penth is on thin ice because i resent the writers for adding her and not Patroclus or even mentioning Patroclus in the story when it comes to Achilles. Like homophobia is strong in this one.
BAD THINGS:
SOOOOO MANY??? I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!!! But I’ll try to sum it up in a few bullets why I really hate this singularity
LOUSY WRITING reduced every character into being one-dimensional tropes. This is the biggest problem Agartha has because you have all of these really great servants with such interesting historic backgrounds and in this freaking singularity, they were just reduced to having ONE PERSONALITY TRAIT with NO COMPLEXITY AT ALL.
Let’s start with Fergus Lily... Like literally, Fergus’ my room lines and interlude would NEVER EVER SAY THE THINGS FERGUS IN AGARTHA SAID. Also, Mincelse was lazy af that he just thinks Fergus can be that wish fulfilment harem protagonist with no redeeming qualities. I was so mad as well that he literally butchered Fergus’ characterization and could’ve made Agartha the experience where Fergus learns how not to run a kingdom. Instead we get this writer ruining the emotional moment by hitting on Schez and making an extremely heteronormative statement.
Wu Zetian and Schez deserve BETTER in terms of character exploration and motives. Instead Schez pulled a Daenerys in the story and went 180 due to it not being her fault but the writers. The plot twist would have been amazing and reasonable but there was no proper buildup leading to it. And then Wu was just reduced to being a loli sadist when the Empress in history has also been considered one of the smartest and brought prosperity to China.
Also Astolfo and D’eon.. while they provided comic relief. They were just that. Astolfo’s and D’eon’s stories dont get explored. It’s a shame!
Dahut too.. like instead of getting a new servant, we really wanna taint Drake huh smh and her monologue was confusing af
Out of Character moments
Don’t get me started on Mash really making Astolfo and D’eon’s gender an issue. I know she’s not transphobic so lets blame the dumbass writer
Da Vinci really “teasing” KID FERGUS A LOT and insinuating he wants to have sex with every woman. Jfc Da Vinci would NEVER. like first of all, he’s A KID
Emotional moments getting ruined by cheap comedy tricks. I already mentioned Fergus but there are other really ill-timed try hard humour that took place. Also, incoherent writing and even repetitive dialogue.
The setting of women oppressing men could have been handled better and with care. Instead you get something that’s from a kinkdom fetish coupled with gratuitous rape, violence, and a subtle dig at women empowerment. M*nase should choke.
TL;DR: Agartha could have been a great singularity if it had a better writer who actually cared about the lore of these servants or characters. Instead, you get something that is shallow, lacking depth, and was obviously written to fulfil Minase’s sick fetish. So much lost potential and it’s infuriating that we really had a singularity that could have been iconic. Instead we get something that’s trash.
Do I regret reading it? No. I now know why this singularity is awful. It was worth knowing how bad it is and now I have a proper opinion why it is bad.
