Art Klaudt: Walking around the cliffs near my parents house listening to Clube Da Esquina
Anonymous 1: on stimulants and obsessed with staying in my room reading and categorizing
ava: covid lockdown
kate: I finally graduated with my Master's in engineering and got a job, at a company I still work at, though things have evolved. I had actually applied to the company pre-pandemic for a different role, but they were hiring people for a team formed specifically in response to the pandemic, so in a way I have covid to thank for the last 4 years of my employment. I don't remember my first day as much as the interview and little I knew about how to interact with the recruiter vs the hiring manager or how many stages there would be, and how awkward it felt when they revealed it was actually for a "more junior" role for a contractor instead of being a full time employee. Like I hadn't qualified to be a "real" engineer but I did qualify to be a meat shield between them and covid. But the joke was on them because the contracting company actually miscalculated how much they wanted us to be paid and the hourly rate came out to about $104k/yr. It was wild to get out of college and immediately be making 6 figures doing a job that did not feel like it should be 6 figures, in the middle of a pandemic to boot. Anyways now I'm a real employee and making essentially the same lol.
Anonymous 2: i have a lot of trouble remembering things from this year. the only thing i can really think of is walking my dog around the suburban development my family lived in
Lucas: COVID lockdowns
Anonymous 3: Waking up at 5am to phone B. who at the time was in a city on the west coast of America where it was 9pm. Our conversation springing straight out from the non-differentiation of my sleep made it easy to get to the purity of reflexivity that he and I were always trying to reach in our conversations at that time. Feeling the fractal purity of talking about the act of talking, of trying to be as present to the reality of the moment without interjecting "topics" to talk "about", which when our conversations were at their best was the whole point of them, to be the only real way of trying to connect two subjectivities, feeling like this was the closest I'd ever come to genuinely sharing an experience with someone in a shared subjectivity, instead of being trapped as two subjectivities irrevocably in object positions vis a vis each other, and that feeling being love.
Anonymous 4: Online school and a ton of work at Five Below
superswag: All the events, covid shopping, CHAZ
v0w0v: The Minneapolis Uprising. I had just moved into the city and was very involved from day one. I was in contact with a lot of mutual aid networks and as the only person in the house with a car i found myself doing a lot of stuff on behalf of the people I lived with. It was a very busy time. I saw and did a lot of things. Something that stood out to this day is when I was on the way to meet with a front lines aid group. I came to an intersection that had a car crash. Someone had crawled out of the car and was crying out in pain. There was national guard soldier on the corner by an apartment complex standing by with a huge automatic rifle, just watching along with the crowd of onlookers. They didn't try to help the person at all. They were not equipped to help. There was a heavy military presence in the whole city. I remember the smell of tear gas.
Anonymous 6: Being isolated, sitting in a faraday cage at an art exhibit as heat lamps droned above me, still instinctively trying to flick on my phone.
Anonymous 7: watching nge.

Anonymous 8: COVID, Having my first seizure and getting cheated on

Breathing Freely: The Significance of Air Duct Cleaning Services
The quality of the air we inhale profoundly influences our health and overall well-being. In both residential and commercial settings, air ducts serve as essential components of HVAC systems, responsible for distributing temperature-controlled air. However, with the passage of time, these air ducts can accumulate dust, debris, and potentially harmful contaminants, posing a threat to indoor air quality. This is precisely where the role of professional air duct cleaning services becomes pivotal, ensuring that the air we respire is pure, secure, and devoid of detrimental particles.
Enhanced Air Purity: The primary objective of Air Duct Cleaning services lies in the enhancement of indoor air quality. Over the course of time, dust, allergens, and pollutants can amass within the ductwork. As the HVAC system operates, these impurities are disseminated throughout the indoor environment. Professional cleaning serves to eradicate these noxious substances, thereby enabling the circulation of cleaner and healthier air.
Health Benefits: Unadulterated indoor air is a prerequisite for good health, particularly for individuals afflicted with allergies, asthma, or respiratory ailments. The obstruction of air ducts by dust and allergens can exacerbate health conditions and lead to discomfort. Air Duct Cleaning Service in Malaysia can mitigate these concerns, thereby diminishing the risk of respiratory issues and allergic reactions.
Energy Efficiency: Air Conditioning Duct Cleaning substantially contribute to the energy efficiency of HVAC systems. When ducts become obstructed, the HVAC system is compelled to exert additional effort in distributing air, resulting in heightened energy consumption and increased utility costs. Regular cleaning procedures ensure the perpetuation of system efficiency, thereby reducing energy expenditure.
Extended Lifespan of HVAC Systems: HVAC systems that receive proper maintenance typically exhibit prolonged lifespans. Dirty air ducts, when left unaddressed, can strain the system, leading to wear and tear. The investment in Air Duct Cleaning near Me not only extends the operational life of the HVAC system but also circumvents the expenses associated with extensive repairs or premature replacements.
Banishment of Unpleasant Odors: Air ducts, with time, can ensnare lingering odors from cooking, pets, cleaning agents, and various other sources. Air Balancing Hvac is the best. These odors can persist within the indoor environment, fostering discomfort. The process of air duct cleaning effectively rids these spaces of odorous residues, rendering the area fresh and inviting.

Reduction of Allergens and Irritants: Frequently, air ducts serve as repositories for allergens such as pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. These allergens have the potential to incite allergic reactions and respiratory distress. Air balancing contractors effectively eradicate these irritants, offering respite to those who contend with allergies or asthma.
In an era where the quality of indoor air takes precedence, the role of air duct cleaning services stands as a critical component in upholding a salubrious and comfortable indoor environment. These services furnish a myriad of advantages, encompassing heightened air quality, health gains, energy efficiency, and protracted HVAC system lifespan. Furthermore, these services tackle and eliminate disagreeable odors, diminish allergens and irritants, optimize air circulation, and avert mold proliferation.

roof coating near me
Finding a reliable local painter and roofer is essential. You've reached the conclusion of Chapter 2! The third act, also referred to as the climax, is where the bulk of most stories are found. A simple and affordable approach to improve the appearance of your house and increase its marketability when the time comes to sell is to replace the roof. Your efforts seem to have been fruitful.
The roofers will not tolerate vandalism in any kind. A roof's lifetime can sometimes be determined by how well it performs in harsh environments. We need to maintain our current clients happy in order to attract new ones. Liquid silicone or rubber can be applied to a roof in just a few short minutes. Businesses have created inventive liquid coatings to better serve the demands of their clients. The problem will only become worse if we do nothing. Their differing views on the importance of maintaining individual privacy may be explained by fundamental cultural differences between the United States and the European Union. It's a big decision to trust your health to a doctor. To ensure everyone's safety, extra measures were taken. By taking these steps, the inevitable roof replacement can be put off. Your privacy will always be protected.
It could be hard to find a reliable roofing coating contractor. Get in touch with a reliable company as soon as possible. The opinions of people closest to you are invaluable. It's harder than it might seem to get everyone to agree on a course of action. The period immediately following significant disasters is busy for researchers.
Rapid ascent to fame Exceptional effectiveness Get in touch with a roofing expert right away if your roof is dripping or exhibiting other signs of damage. Numerous well-known politicians are expected to attend. An evaluation of the damage will indicate if the entire roof needs to be replaced or only the damaged areas. roof coating near me for shingles Your Seamless Roofing System will receive a protective coating using contemporary roofing methods, extending its lifespan. The demand for seamless roofing has grown as both its cost and quality have improved. They started the custom, and now everyone imitates them.
Be sure to always exude confidence. Even a seemingly simple task like painting is better left to the pros if you don't know what you're doing. In those days, all an artist needed was a canvas, some paint, and a steady hand. The customer should be taken into consideration when designing the website as well as the rest of the business.
If you have a roofing emergency, kindly contact us using the details provided below.
Because of the expertise and experience of our roofing crew, we are confident in our ability to stand out from the competition. In the business world, the phrase "high-quality roofing work" is now referred to as "superior seamless roofing" as a shorthand. Superior seamless roofing is a significant selling element for the finished product, so it must be included. This document provides a summary of the information we gathered. All of the responders stressed once more how important it is to learn from other people's experiences. The consequences of this security flaw will be felt. Because of your recent actions, we no longer have faith in you. We were unable to locate enough positive reviews to support choosing Superior Seamless Roofing as our company's roofing contractor. Is a new roof soon to be installed? If you require a new roof, Superior Seamless Roofing is your best choice. Over the last two months, there has been a sharp increase in demand for our roofing services. It's staggering to realize how far we've come. In my made-up city, I can see all the things about American culture that really irritate me. With some degree of assurance, we can make predictions about the direction of technology using these results.
It is frequently overlooked how difficult it is to find a cheap roofer. The United States has typically had a higher voter turnout rate than other developed democracies. The precise measurement of the roof is the first stage in building a house. Costs of storage could increase even if demand remains same.
In-person interviews are the most effective way to research potential vendors.
All communications with suppliers must be recorded. This Agreement will expire whenever all payments are completed that are required under it. Helping others in need is the right thing to do, even if it means doing more work for yourself. You won't need to change your current health insurance plan if the audit is successful.
It is nonsensical to attribute climate change to human activity alone. You'll be able to form stronger ties with your loved ones because to your newfound confidence.
Finding leaks and fixing them are simple tasks for us. It was initially difficult to provide frequent, high-quality updates. Green roofs are a common feature of new downtown office buildings. Ideas once seen as science fiction become commonplace as humankind's understanding of the universe advances. The media has covered our most recent accomplishments in great detail. The logical progression was blatantly obvious.

Notes on Gaston Leroux‘s „The Phantom of the Opera“ - Epilogue

<< Previous chapter “It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known”
-Charles Dickens, “A Tale of Two Cities”
As we are coming to the end of the story, Leroux ties up a few more loose ends in the epilogue.
As for Raoul and Christine, their possible happy ending is only implied by what Erik told the Persian - that they had “taken a northbound train” and were planning to get married in secret. They have disappeared from the world, and Christine never appeared again on stage anywhere. According to Leroux, they might have finally settled in Norway together with Mama Valerius. At first, I thought Leroux might have been confusing Sweden and Norway, but when I did a little research on the name „Daae“, it turns out that the name is actually most prevalent in Norway, with almost no occurrences in Sweden. It is also implied that even if they took that “northbound” train before, Christine took a train back to Paris a few weeks later to return to Erik, because she had the wedding ring on her when she left, and it was finally found on Erik‘s finger.
As Philippe‘s death was deemed to be the consequence of the fight between the two brothers over Raoul’s supposed engagement to Christine, Raoul was a murder suspect - but as his previous testimony had already made him appear a lunatic in the eyes of the Commissary, Philippe‘s death was ultimately pronounced accidental. However, as Parisian society had taken less than kindly to the news of the engagement, I think that the couple would have had a very difficult standing if they had officially married and assumed the now vacant titles of the Count and Countess de Chagny. It is therefore likely that Raoul, having officially disappeared, never claimed his titles and inheritance, and chose the more simple lifestyle that Christine was accustomed to. Leroux concludes the story of Raoul and Christine with the statement that one day, he too might „hear the solitary echoes of the Northland repeat the singing of the woman who knew the Angel of Music''. In the epilogue, the boundaries between the „false“ and the „real“ Angel of Music become blurred, as Leroux repeatedly speaks of Erik as the “Angel of Music” - indicating that maybe, just maybe, Erik truly was the Angel of Music.
After following up on Raoul and Christine, Leroux relates how he obtained proof of Erik‘s existence from the Persian, mostly through the letters written by Christine that Erik had sent to him, but also through the testimonies of Meg Giry and La Sorelli. He supposedly placed all the proof he had gathered in the archives of the Paris Opera.
He also obtained the testimony of M. Poligny, the previous manager of the Opera. The „Opera Ghost“ affair was the final straw that made him resign his post, which again indicates that Erik‘s reign as „O.G.“ was rather short and caused by Erik falling in love (since he had been living in the Opera House presumably since the early 1870s). He also quotes from the fictional „Memoirs of a Manager“ by Armand Moncharmin, where Moncharmin relates that a few days after Christine‘s abduction, Erik returned all of the forty thousand francs he had extracted to the managers, no longer having any need for the money as he had given up his plan to marry Christine. The mystery of the safety-pin is also finally resolved, as Leroux was supposedly able to locate a small trapdoor in the floor of the managers’ office, through which a dexterous magician like Erik could easily have reached up and retrieved the envelope from Richard‘s coattail pocket as it was hanging down from his chair.
Leroux also notes that the marble pillar next to Box 5 sounds hollow and would offer ample space for Erik to hide inside it. According to Gérard Fontaine’s research, the pillars being hollow applies to all the pillars in the auditorium of the Palais Garnier. Whether that proves or disproves anything is up to you... Leroux’s plan of having the lake drained in order to obtain the ultimate proof of Erik‘s existence - finding the entrance to the house by the lake - did not go through, but Leroux still sustains his hope of one day finding the score of „Don Juan Triumphant“ there (that is, if Christine had not taken it with her when she came to bury him).
Leroux then gives a summary of Erik’s life according to the Persian. Erik was born near Rouen in France and ran away from his parents as a young boy, as they were afraid and horrified by how he looked. After being exhibited as a “living corpse” at fairs, he became a singing sensation and garnered a reputation that reached as far as Persia. The daroga of Mazenderan was sent to bring Erik to Persia as entertainment for the “little sultana”. Erik, who also worked there as an assassin, is described here as amoral, “not knowing the difference between right and wrong”. Even though he does not have an evil heart, his life up until this point has left him completely without a moral compass of any kind.
After building an ingenious palace for the shah, Erik’s execution was ordered so that he could not divulge its secrets to anyone. The daroga was supposed to carry it out, but as he owed Erik favours (and was the one who brough Erik to Persia in the first place), he helped him escape instead. He was punished for this and went into exile to Paris. Erik took a detour to Asia Minor and Constantinople before he ended up in Paris as well. It is also mentioned that Erik could make lifelike automata, which is reflected in the musical in the form of the monkey music box and also the “mirror bride”, a physical representation of Erik’s dream of a loving wife.
Once in Paris, Erik decided that he finally wanted to live a normal life, and placed a successful bid to work as a contractor on the Opera House. Wishing to hide his face from the world forever, he built his comfortable home into the foundations of the Opera. Erik’s plan to live out the rest of his life in peaceful tranquillity went well - until he crossed paths with Christine Daae and lost his heart to her completely. And the rest is history…
Leroux here gives his own view of Erik: “He had a heart great enough to hold the empire of the world, and in the end he had to be content with a cellar.” With a normal face, Erik, with his brilliant mind and extraordinary talents, could have had the world at his feet. And even though no one had ever loved him, he still had a heart capable of feeling deep, pure love, which is pretty remarkable. His beautiful voice is a reflection of the beauty he carries inside his soul - which was sadly eclipsed by his ugliness, which did not allow him to live “like everyone else”. The great tragedy of his life was his face, which kept others from treating him as a human being and recognizing his full potential. He is therefore clearly worthy of pity, instead of being cursed and condemned as evil.
Leroux had already mentioned in the Prologue that he believed the skeleton found in the cellars of the Opera was Erik’s. Now he finally reveals why he was so certain of that: because Erik’s skeleton wore the gold wedding ring on his finger, which Leroux believes Christine had placed there. Even though Erik had set her free and given her the ring, she later came back to him, and this time it was certainly not out of terror. With Erik dead, none of his threats would hold any more sway over her - and yet, she still returned to him to keep her promise. She not only buried him with the wedding ring, but she slipped it onto his finger, ultimately fulfilling her promise to accept him as her husband. In a sense, she buried him with her love, and that is truly a bittersweet and beautiful ending. After everything he had to endure, Erik’s life ends with a kiss and a ring on his finger, put there by the woman he loved more than his own life, and with Leroux praying for his salvation. That may not be a traditional happy ending, but it‘s very powerful. And it’s definitely not a villain’s ending.
As „Faust“ is the most strongly referenced work in „Phantom“, it is also worth comparing how the endings are different. In the final act of Gounod‘s opera, Faust and Marguerite first swear their love to each other, but when Marguerite sees Mephistopheles and realizes who Faust really is, she turns away from him and chooses death instead, while Faust is dragged into the fires of hell. Her famous last words to him are „You horrify me!“ In „Phantom“, the progression is almost the other way round - Christine is horrified at first, but then accepts Erik and chooses life instead of death.
It should also be noted that the ending in the novel is so vague that it also allows a lot of room for the reader’s imagination. Was Erik really dead when Christine returned? He himself was announcing his death, so it would not even be so very unlikely. But as this is Leroux’s story, the official reading would of course be how he himself imagined the ending: Erik dying and Christine coming back to bury him. This might be my favourite line from the novel:
“The skeleton lay near the little fountain, where the Angel of Music first held the unconscious Christine Daae in his trembling arms after taking her into the cellars of the Opera.”
As if the return of the ring was not enough poetic closure, he also asked to be buried in the very spot where he held the love of his life for the first time...
Symbolism and Metaphors
Now that we have concluded the epilogue, I would like to add a few more notes on the general themes which are present throughout the novel and still influence how we feel about it today.
To understand the extent of symbolism employed in „The Phantom of the Opera“, it is necessary to understand the cultural mindset and environment in which it was written. At the turn of the century, the arts (and sciences, as evidenced by the slowly emerging works of Sigmund Freud) were rather obsessed with the fateful connection between Eros and Thanatos - love as the life-bringing force, and death as the destructive force. Both were often seen as intertwined and mirrored in the other.
Erik is the personification of Eros and Thanatos. He unites both forces in him to a degree unparalleled by any other character in the story. The death symbolism that is also clearly reflected in how he is described, would be both perceived as horrifying - and yet not without a strangely seductive fascination inherent in it. Death is intricately tied to darker feelings of passion and desire. The “Eros” and the “Thanatos” part of his character are intertwined, but his character also oscillates between the two sides in the course of the story.
Music in „Phantom“ also serves as a metaphor for romantic love, not only in the spiritual but also in the physical sense, as it is connotated with “passion”, “fire”, “ecstasy” and “rapture” throughout the story. Erik’s teaching awakens “an ardent, voracious and sublime life” in Christine, symbolizing the burgeoning romantic feelings in the young woman. She is terrified with the changes going on in her, which is also in line with how „Eros“ was originally viewed: as a frightening loss of control. Erik says in “Apollo’s Lyre” that “some music is so formidable that it consumes everyone who approaches it”, and Christine states that “Music has the power to abolish everything in the outside world except its sounds, which go straight to the heart”. In both sentences, the word “music” can easily be replaced with “love” - especially in Christine’s example, it would be the musical equivalent of “love is blind”.
Like in other (gothic) romances - “Wuthering Heights” being perhaps the prime example - the two rivals in the principal love triangle represent two very different types of love: one is intense and passionate, but also consuming, terrifying and potentially destructive, and the other is safer, but also somewhat chaste and lifeless. Erik and Raoul each represent one of the two extremes. This contrast is exemplified in the scene at the Masked Ball: Raoul wears white, the colour of innocence, while Erik wears red, the colour of passion, but also of danger and blood.
It is suggested in the novel that Erik and Christine were chained together by fate (“La destinée m’enchaîne à toi sans retour”), and I believe they were destined to save each other. Erik saved Christine from her grief in the wake of her father’s death and brought her back to life, and Christine saved his soul by being the first person in his life to accept him and grant him true happiness. „Phantom“ may be a tragic love story, but it is also a hopeful one, as love proves stronger than death. Christine’s choice, Erik‘s sacrifice and the skeleton’s wedding ring are all symbols of love triumphing over death.

137 - The Mudstone Abyss part 3
Kevin: If this had been an actual emergency, this signal would be followed by screaming and chaos.
Welcome to Desert Bluffs.
Hello, Desert Bluffs! It has been exactly one week since language resumed functioning.
We are all of course relieved to finally be able to greet neighbors once again with a friendly “You should smile more!”
But sometimes with good news comes bad news. It’s also been exactly one week since all construction on the Mudstone Abyss was halted. There are still several creeping shadows roaming about the dig site, causing everyone who goes near there to become so overwhelmed with joy that they run away screaming. It’s unclear why the shadows are still there. We don’t know what they want. Some have said they want us to dig no further, and that these shadows are responsible for our loss of language. I think they came out to see the beautiful craftsmanship on our Mudstone Abyss.
Mayor Lauren Mallard called for a halt to construction despite adamant protests from the media. The media spent the past week constantly texting and calling the mayor, telling her construction must continue, because it has been the media’s dream since childhood to bring a grand physical testament to the Smiling God’s endless happiness and love. But the mayor has been slow to respond. She’s probably busy scheduling contractors to restart work on the monument. Maybe the media should try texting the mayor again.
[typing noises] Why… is construction… still… halted… Lauren? Oh, that sounds a bit aggressive. Let’s brighten that tone a bit with… oh, bleeding gums emoji… spider with human eyes emoji, cry-laughing emoji, there we go.
The mayor and I have been close for a long time. We’ve had our ups and downs, but I think our more difficult times were back when we used to run a company together. We had some typical disagreements over who was in charge. She thought that because she was the president of the company, she should have final say on all decisions. Whereas I knew that I was one of the Smiling God’s chosen prophets, and our all-loving devourer would not choose a prophet who made mistakes. I believe ceasing construction was a mistake. Certainly our mayor thinks digging the Mudstone Abyss is somehow connected to our loss of language, and I appreciate her concern, but there is only anecdotal evidence to support this.
More on this story as it develops.
But first, I wanted to tell you that Charles and I went out again! Originally, Charles and I were going to go to the opening of the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit at the Desert Bluffs Museum of Art. This exhibit features many of O’Keeff’s famous flower paintings, but reimagined as if O’Keeffe were a joyous worshipper of the Smiling God. Artist at the museum have painted large smiles and centipedes over O’Keeffe’s originals, and the result is apparently quite powerful and moving.
Then Charles and I planned to have another luxurious dinner at Vermillion, but at the last minute, Grandma Josephine and her demons told him they weren’t available to babysit Charles’ five-year-old Donovan, and we couldn’t find a babysitter.
So instead Charles, Donovan and I spent the day at the Desert Bluffs’ Spinning Smiles amusement park. We rode the Spine Compressor, the Esophagus Remover, and a brand new roller coaster called Intentional Sepsis. Donovan was really delighted by all the struggling actors dressed in stuffy unvented animal costumes. Donny got his picture taken with one person dressed as a smiling tortoise. We could hear the man in the costume panting heavily and begging for water. Donny turned to the tortoise and said: “The sun calls for sacrifice because the sun loves all that it sees.” The man inside rasped: “Air! Please! I don’t know where I am! Please!” and passed out. [chuckles] Donny giggled right as Charles took the photo. It was actually really adorable. What a great memory to capture!
We went back to Charles’ house and made sandwiches and watched cartoons, but Donny wasn’t interested in the television, he just played with his toy planes, zigging and zagging them over his head, turning and swirling them in reckless fits. I hope he does not grow up to be a pilot.
I sat next to Charles on the couch, mesmerized by the motion of Donny’s planes until Charles and I fell asleep. Around 2 AM, I woke up. Donovan had put himself into bed and Charles was snoring softly against my shoulder. I carefully stood up and pulled Charles’ legs onto the sofa. The whole day had made me happy, but not in the way I wanted to be happy about it. happiness should be something you have, not something you take. I placed a blanket over him and drove home.
I’m getting an update that Mayor Lauren Mallard is holding a press conference at City Hall. Let’s hear her speech live.
Lauren: People of Desert Bluffs, after discussions with City Council as well as some prominent and very knowledgeable members of the media, I have decided to reopen construction of the Mudstone Abyss. I know many people are frightened by the shadow beings drifting around the dig site, as well as the ones lurking in and around your homes, but there is nothing to fear. These shadows are merely the impure souls of those devoured and then later (disgorged) [0:07:52] by the Smiling God. They’re not worthy of your fear. These shadows don’t even have faces. We cannot discern their intentions or feelings. They move around in quick jerks and starts, flickering in and out of our vision, sometimes standing just behind us while sloowly tilting their heads. And unless you’re looking in a mirror, there’s no way you can even see that.
So I’m not sure why you’re all freaking out. Plus they are completely intangible. [chuckling]Watch! There’s one right now, passing in front of me. I’m whipping my hand back and forth right through it. it can’t do anything, it’s just a shadow! It can’t eve smile. [chuckles] Construction resume at 7 AM sharp on Monday. We’ve assigned every citizen a daily 8-hour time slot with two 10 minute breaks. We’ve also hired some clowns to come by to keep everyone smiling. As a former corporate president, I know first hand how important laughter is for maintaining a healthy work environment. Skeleton silverfish! What, uh? Silverfish French press carbuncle. I can’t pillowcase slapstick? Uuh, plenty of hibiscus! Yeah.
Kevin: Ah, Mayor Mallard! Such a way with words. Well you heard her, it’s a joyous day. In fact, probably a future holiday. I cannot wait to start digging again next week, Desert Bluffs! Let’s look now at the Community Calendar. These are probably the last non-construction events we’ll have for a couple of weeks.
On Wednesday afternoon at Morning Bird Records, the Society for Painless Living will be holding a protest march against the construction of the Mudstone Abyss. Well, I don’t usually read press releases for such tiny events, but I guess there might be one or two people who want to exercise their right to assembly. So if this sounds like something you’re interested in, I guess you should go to the march, and then think about all the joy the Smiling God has give you and question your motives for refusing to appreciate it.
Thursday morning, the Citizens of Free Will will host a sit-in at the Sunlite All-day Diner to demonstrate their opposition to the Mayor’s order for mandatory labor on the Mudstone Abyss. Huh.
Oh this looks netter! Thursday afternoon, the Natural Smiles theatre company- I love that name! – is opening their new play, “The Pit of Ruin”. Playwright Danika Lopez says her work is an (--) [0:10:36] parable about the arrogance of religion, government and media. Lopez’ play, according to their press material, tells a story of a bloviating radio host.. who overreaches his position, enslaving an entire town in order to feed his hunger for religious power. I like the sound of this theatre company less and less. There has to be some community event that’s actually fun in here.
Friday morning, the People for Clean Sharp Teeth will be burning Kevin the radio host in effigy. I don’t… understand.
[long beat] I’d like to spend more time on this. Explaining to you, dear listeners, that my happiness is not yours to take. I’d like to have all afternoon to teach you about how you must receive your own joy by making joy, rather than destroying others’ joy. But I cannot spend any time on this, because I’m getting word that Mayor Mallard is being forcibly removed from her podium at City Hall! A large crowd of unsmiling people overtook the Mayor and the city council. The crowd used a tattoo gun to draw a permanent frown on the Mayor’s face, which effectively exiles her from this community. The crowd is chanting: “Pete Ma’s handlebars, Pete Ma’s handlebars!” The police have tried using their bullhorns to call for order, but instead of words they’re emitting bird chirps. Language seems to be failing us again.
Desert Bluffs, I need you to remain calm. I need you to take a deep breath and think positive thoughts. Think about the Smiling God, its mammoth wriggling form and thousands of legs emerging from the earth and devouring your body. Envision your whole self nestled in the moist, loving belly of the divine beast. Smile while you do it, Desert Bluffs. Keep smiling. Keep – I’m getting a phone call. Oh, it’s from Charles! Maybe he found a babysitter.
Hey Charles, I was just thinking about you. You know there’s a night club that opened last month? It’s called No Exit. I thought maybe we could drop off Donny with Josephine this evening and then… Uh huh. So you called to see if I wanted to go to the zoo with you and Donny this afternoon instead? Uh.. W-well, I was just looking at the weather and I’m not sure if today’s the day to… It’s not. Charles. I have the weather report right here. Listen.
[“Hymn #101” by Joe Pug]
I figured it out, Desert Bluffs. The mob outside City Hall has dispersed. They returned Lauren Mallard with her tattooed frown to her position as mayor, but city bylaws prohibit anyone incapable of smiling from serving in that position. So for now, we have no mayor. The drifting shadows around the Mudstone Abyss have dissipated, returning whatever other otherworld they came from, and the construction has begun again at the monument dig site, several days ahead of schedule.
I figured it out. During our phone call, Charles was getting flustered. I asked what was wrong and he said Donovan was distracting him by swinging his toy planes around again. I told Charles to focus on us and not worry about what Donovan was doing. “We can’t talk about us, Kevin, without worrying about what Donovan is doing,” he snapped at me. “Donovan is us. That’s the deal, OK?” And I was hurt. I wasn’t smiling. I don’t like criticism, it makes me sad, and then mad, and then – confused.
Listeners, I don’t often use strong language, so if your ears are sensitive to vulgarity, turn the volume down for a few seconds. I hate! Not being happy. I hate it! There, I said it. I’m sorry.
I thought about what Charles said. I thought about his teeth, his chest, his hair, his snoring, his smile. I thought about Donovan. I thought about Donovan swinging those toy planes around above his head, like the birds in that dream every one of us has every single night. You know, where the birds zig and zag across a blood red sky, recklessly turning and swirling in panicked fits. Donovan’s planes were, in fact, moving in the exact same pattern as those birds. I figured it out. Each movement, each turn, each path of each plane was identical to those birds’ paths.
Listeners, it’s not a dream. It’s a message. The shadows do not speak in our mouthy languages, but in shapes and patterns. I interrupted Charles to tell him this. I told him to take Donny to the Mudstone Abyss. I told him to bring Donny’s planes. Charles and Donny approached the shadowy figures. The gathered crowd called to them to stop, to move no closer to the shadows, but all the crowd could yell was “cabbage coat hangers!” Charles then presented Donny to the shadows, and they flickered as he zigged and zagged his planes above his head. And then – a miracle happened. Glowing dotted lines appeared in the paths of the toy planes. A radiant geometry, triangles and stars and hexagons. The shapes began to connect to each other, circles forming spheres, triangles forming pyramids. The shadows raised their arms and disappeared. Donny stopped flying his planes around, but the dotted lines hung in mid air, an unreadable but completely comprehensible message to the now silent crowd.
They figured it out. One by one, the people returned to the dig site and began carving the shapes they had just seen into the mudstone. As people grew tired and stepped away for rest breaks, they found that their words had returned to them. And when they went back to digging more, they fell silent again, but only because they felt more comfort in their new spatial language of shapes and motion. The anger over the construction was no more. Citizens came together, not just out of a common communication, nor for the good of a great monument, but because happiness finally showed itself to them, and they discovered their own paths to peace. Through the pride of choosing the hard work, for the benefit of all.
Charles called to tell me how excited he was for me. “You figured it out,” he said. “Kevin, you figured it out.” I told him: “Donny figured it out. He didn’t spout a solution in words, but in deeds. You should be proud of your son, Charles, I said. I am proud of him.” I didn’t say anything else. I need more time to know what else to say. Soon, we’ll go visit the zoo. Hopefully soon we’ll have a night to ourselves. To drink, to dine, to dance, and late at night in a quiet home, to dream a dream of diving birds, of love and language. And we will wake up the same people in a different place. The earth will have moved, the clocks will have moved, the sun will not have moved. But we will wake and we will smile, and we will do our best to understand ourselves and others.
Desert Bluffs, I didn’t figure out the language of the abyss, Donny did. I didn’t figure out what the language intended, you did. What I figured out was that I sometimes push too hard. I will do my best to not do that. We are building this monument because you want to. I want to too, but I’m glad you found your own way here. Lauren, tattooed frown scrawled crooked on her face, is standing over the pit and staring at the shapes the dream has shown us, as though reading messages only she could understand. She is muttering strange syllables to herself and staring at obvious malice at the workers in the pit. So even she has found a hobby in this – post-mayoral life.
Thank you, Desert Bluffs. I love this town. I’m happy you do too.
Stay tuned next for the sound a child makes upon seeing a giraffe in real life.
And as always, Until next time, Desert Bluffs, Until next time.
Today’s proverb: Kangaroos are deer abbreviated.

GREECE THE FIRST TIME
DAY 1…..Greece the First time
Posted on May 28, 2012 by Key West Lou
I made it! I am in Italy! Screwed up a bit, no, a lot, from jet lag.
I could not write a blog yesterday. My head was all over the place.
So many things to share with you. I am going to run through as many as I recall.
Lets begin at Key West airport. The family saw me off. Robert and Ally excited. Each pulled one of my pieces of luggage. A big deal for them!
I have not flown in a while. The following may be old hat to you who do. To me it was new.
TSA security now permits those over 75 to go through with shoes on. No more shoes off. I am 76. Three different guards attacked me with shoes off! I looked, smiled and said I am over 75. They looked back in disbelief. The scenario made me feel good. Vanity involved. Meant I do not look my age.
New cell phone a disaster. I still do not have its use down. This one has Bluetooth. Decided to use it in the airport. A mistake. I screwed things up. Every time the phone rang, no one was there. I could not correct it. I needed to put the cell phone on airport mode. Took me 20 minutes. It is still on airport mode.
Trip from Atlanta to Milan a pain. Nine hours. I did not sleep a wink. It seemed like the whole plane slept but me. I walked the aisles and everyone looked dead as they slept.
Because of blood pressure and heart problems, I have a fluid problem. My ankles swell occasionally. I feared they would be huge by the time I reached Milan. I visited with my heart doctor before the trip. He said wear compression socks and take a water pill as soon as you get on the plane in Atlanta. I did both. Peed a lot. It worked! Swelling very minimal when I got off the plane in Milan.
Arrived in Milan 8 in the morning Milan time. Two in the morning my time. Permit me to interject, I was up 34 straight hours before I went to bed. There was no time to rest once I arrived.
My driver took me to Navarro. I am staying in Navarro a few days till I am over jet lag. It was a 30 mile drive.
The scenery reminded me of two things. First, it was like driving route 5 from Utica to Frankfort in upstate New York. A smattering of houses and barns. Fields otherwise. Second, in many places there was heavy foliage. Like that I saw in Virginia near Mount Vernon.
The fields were rice paddies. As far as the eye could see. Pools of water with what appeared to be blades of grass growing above. I had never seen rice paddies before, except in movies about China. Turns out northern Italy is one of the largest suppliers of rice world wide. The reason is the area sits at the foot of Mount Blanc. Water flows down the mountain. Fills the many streams and rivers. Water abounds below the land surface also. Easily tapable well style.
After miles and miles of rice paddies, there appeared a castle. Sitting on a mountain nearby. The driver told me the man who lives in the castle owns all the rice paddies. Plus a golf course nearby.
We drove over many bridges. All old in appearance. Some stone. Others metal. Napoleon responsible for them all. The people refer to Napoleon as King Napoleon. He conquered northern Italy in the early 1800s. Many French persons came to live here under Napoleonic rule. Their descendants still speak French. France itself is a hop, skip and jump away. Switzerland is nearby and French is common there.
I found it strange that in our 30 mile drive I saw very little traffic. Whether on a major highway complex or on a back road. I was told it cost money to drive. The price of gasoline is $12 a gallon. Additionally most roads have a tolling system which is expensive. When contracts are let to build or repair a road, the contractor gets a long time deal. Beside the construction or repair, the contractor gets to maintain the road for 30 years. It is the law! The contractor charges tolls purportedly to pay the cost of repairs. Actually it is a big money maker. Called positive cash flow. The tolls are very expensive. Some of the persons I discussed this topic with blamed the Mafia. In fact, in the short time I have been here I have discovered Italians blame the Mafia for everything.
We entered Navarro. I was impressed!
There is an extensive downtown area. Most of the buildings were built 1100 to 1300. They still stand. Are referred to as medieval. The roads are narrow. Very narrow. Like downtown Boston. The streets are all closed off, except to pedestrian traffic. No cars.
The buildings are magnificent. Majestic. Most muted pastel colors. Yellow, gray, tan and pink. Some concrete colored. Nothing big. Three to four stories. Ground floor expensive stores. A restaurant with outdoor seating here and there. Apartments on the floors above. The buildings appear to be of poured concrete. No wood. Tile roofs. Where ever stucco or brick is apparent, it is a facade. Merely attached to the wall of the building.
I am staying a few nights in one of the apartments. The buildings are magnificent as well. The staircases! I am staying in an apartment on the second floor. It is actually two stories. Once inside the apartment, there is a staircase to an upper floor. The apartment I am in is at least 4,000 square feet. Many rooms. Many baths.
The ceilings are art. Each is painted with a story. My bedroom is a hunt involving stags and dogs.
The furniture is all antique. It is like walking into a museum.
Every room has one or more outside balconies. Overlooking the street or inner court.
The inner court is a beauty in itself. Entrance is gained through a heavy wood door. The courtyard reminds me of the Roman courtyard to be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The exhibit on the first floor to the left of the staircase as you enter the left hallway. Resident cars are parked in the inner court.
I attended a dinner party last night. Great food!
There was a mixture of people. Navarro is obviously cosmopolitan. People from all countries. I spoke at length with a Muslim woman from Morocco. Actually, Casablanca. 35ish. Lovely. Dressed like every one else.
I said Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman. She did not know what I was talking about.
Her husband is Italian. He converted from Catholic to Muslim to marry her.
They have two grammar school age children. Both attend Catholic school. Neither has been baptized or confirmed. Their parents are leaving it to the children to decide when they are older. The Catholic Church is giving them no issue. The priest and nuns welcome the two into school with open arms. I doubt such would be permitted in the United States.
I was told that Morocco is very modern. None of the women cover their faces or wear long black robes. Mini skirts are very much in style. Although there are wars in the African countries all around Morocco, there is no conflict in Morocco. The people are of a different mind set.
We drank Italian champagne. By the case. Apparently it is the drink of choice here.
Everyone was dressed as if we were at a party in Key West. Casual. Women in jeans. Men in jeans and khakis. Too cool yet for shorts.
Everyone wanted to talk with me. All were interested in our Presidential election. All like Obama. He is respected for his international endeavors. They knew we had financial problems also, but did not understand them. The euro is on their mind. They agreed however that if Greece goes down, so will the rest of Europe. With the United States being severely impacted.
I am sleeping in a suite complex. All for me. A bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. Bathrooms are big in size. Decorated. Different from ours.
Mine has a bidet. I was pleased. I have one in my Key West home and have become accustomed to its use. I found this one strange. A bidet requires a water spout near center from which the water can shoot up to cleanse the underside. No spout.
I inquired why. Turns out Mussolini was the driving force in bidets. He made sure every Italian home had one. Like a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage. At the end of World War II, Mussolini was not too popular. You will recall that he and his mistress were beaten to death and then hung by their heels. The post war government decided to do away with bidets since they were Mussolini inspired. A law was passed outlawing the spout on the theory it was bacteria/microbe infested. My bidet is nothing but another sink. Based on its height, for child use I assume.
I got to bed at 10:30 in the evening Navarro time. I had been up more than 30 hours straight. I fell asleep immediately. Woke at 2. Was awake till 4. Then slept to 8.
Writing this first blog has been an exercise. A frustration.
Electricity is rationed in Italy. The computer I was working on had rationed electricity. Fifteen minutes and it went off. And stayed off for an hour. All to conserve electricity. This blog has been written piece meal over the course of a day.
Enjoy your day! More to come tomorrow!
_____
I hope you enjoy Greece My First Time. The late spring and summer of 2012. I did this blog daily for the 80 some odd days I was away. I never published it in any but blog form at the time. Hope you enjoy.
The Greece story opens today’s blog. Used it as such to introduce you to the writing. Not sure where it will appear from this point forward. I suspect as the closing topic.
We begin.
Schumer came out a winner. He called McCullough’s bluff. The Democrats will be the majority party for the next 2 years.
I am disappointed Schumer will be in a tough position in attempting to get rid of the filibuster. Two Democrats assured McCullough that they would never even have have an intention of getting rid of the filibuster.
A shame. More could be done if the Democrats were able to go for the nuclear option.
Each of the two Democratic Senators have their own reasons. Some to be respected. Some not.
Joe Manchin is a Democratic Senator from West Virginia. He has been a successful politician his whole life.
West Virginia is a Republican state. It is also a coal mining state. Manchin has always walked a fine line. In fact, he voted with Trump 50.4 percent of the time.
Krysten Sinems is a Democratic Senator from Arizona. Always a deep red state. The Democrats did well in November. Better than normal.
Arizona is definitely leaning Democratic. She should start throwing off her false Republican mantle. A conservative, she voted with Trump 25 percent of the time.
Twenty five percent does not seem like a lot in comparison to Manchin’s voting record. However 25 percent placed her in third place among Democrats supporting Trump policies. Ergo, the 25 percent is significant.
Schumer sounded confident last night that at some point the filibuster would go. I hope so.
A comment in Citizens’ Voice this morning spelling out the state of the COID-19 pandemic in the U.S.: “We were dying from COVID-19 and now we’re dying from state and federal incompetence.”
On this day in 1998, President Clinton lied re his engaging in sexual relations with Monica Lewensky: “I want to say one thing to the American people; I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”
When Clinton had to own up to the deed, his excuse somewhat difficult to understand. However showed the genius of the man that worked in many other ways for the betterment of the U.S.
Clinton’s position basically was that he did not have sex with Lewinsky, she had sex with him. It was limited to oral copulation and she did him. He did not do her.
I have wondered about Trump and his sexual life if any while President. The man had a terrific career of philandering. Having a wife never seemed to bother him when it came to cheating.
A leopard does not change his spots.
Query: How went his 4 years in the White House?
One further observation since I am comparing Clinton and Trump. Clinton was a far superior President than Trump. Without question.
Tuesday again! My blog talk radio show tonight. Tuesday Talk with Key West Lou. Join me at 9 my time. I may have less to rant and rave about this week. However, I promise to do my best. You will not be disappointed. www.blogtalkradio.com/key-west-lou.
Enjoy your day!

Dating Pietro Maximoff would include....
Anonymous asked: Could you do a “dating Pietro would include…” thing please? Thank you! I love your writing!
Pairing: Pietro x Reader Word count: 2.4k+ Warning: Fluff, Smut
A/N: To the anon that requested this: I made it as gender inclusive as I could! This was so much fun to write! Thank you for requesting it! I hope you all liked this! It kind of got out of hand and I’m not sorry at all. (At this point you should all know I will never understand the concept of writing short/quick fics. Just expect everything to be more than a thousand words. I’ve accepted it.)
Surprise Kisses
Pietro is always ‘NYOOOMMM’. Even when he’s ‘standing still’ he’s going miles and miles a minute so sometimes you have to grab his face between your hands and plant one on him to remind him to stop, slow down, breathe and ground himself.
You are his anchor. You keep him tethered and grounded and he loves you all the more for it.
Alternatively when he is zipping all over the place he likes to surprise you by stopping suddenly and absolutely taking your breath away with the most toe curling kiss.
Then he zips away again like the little shit he is leaving you completely flustered and needed several minutes to regain your composure.
It’s the highlight of your day honestly.
Being a blanket hog·
A by-product of his insane speed is heat.
(Yes Piet, you’re hot, no that’s not what I meant you absolute dork.)
No matter how many times you tuck him in or attempt to cover him in blankets, they will always end up on the floor without fail.
Bonus: He sleeps in nothing more than his underwear which leads to convenient sexy times.
Even he doesn’t run hot enough to keep all the chill away during the winter so the two of you have had some entertaining as hell blanket fights because you’ve adapted to stealing all of the covers. You always win because he can never say no to you.
Of course that doesn’t mean he isn’t above using his adorable pout on you after you win and giving in to let him snuggle with you under the blankets.
(That was your goal all along so who’s the real loser here.)
Grocery Shopping...
Before you started dating, you knew Piet needed to eat all the time to keep his energy up.
What you didn’t know was HOW FREAKIN EXPENSIVE IT WAS TO FEED THAT SPEEDY BASTARD.
“Jesus Piet do you even know how much money I’ve spent on you this week ALONE”
“Do not worry, darling,” he mumbles around a mouthful of food, “I’ll take care of it.”
A couple of days later there’s a thick envelope in your mailbox with “Stark” in bold letters across it.
After the initial shock wears off, you see “From the Desk of Anthony Stark”. Talk about having heart palpitations.
When you open it there’s a letter from Mr. Stark apologizing for any expenses Pietro may have cost you and an open invitation to visit the Tower or Compound anytime you wish.
It also advises you have a lawyer look over the contract he’s enclosed.
“Contract? Wha—?”
You flip the page to discover an employment contract that allows you to keep your current job as well as serving as an independent contractor for Stark Industries.
Attached to the last page of the contract are employee badges for both Stark Industries as well as the Compound, a T H I C K black AMEX card with instructions that it’s to be used for expenses that may crop up in relation to Pietro or the Avengers.
There’s a second card that’s already been set up for Direct Deposit for your salary as well as any bonuses you may receive.
There’s also a check reimbursing you for the money you spent in the last few weeks on feeding your speedy boyfriend.
HOLY SHIT THAT’S TOO MANY ZEROES.
A few moments later, Piet ‘NYOOMS’ outta nowhere with a cheeky grin on his face.
“Piet…what did you do???”
“I told you, [insert cute nickname here]. I’d take care of it.”
“You didn’t have to do that!”
“You do such a good job taking care of me that I wanted to return the favor.”
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re the best boyfriend ever?”
Many smooches are had this day.
Snacks
When your boyfriend can eat an entire grocery store, you learn to always keep snacks on hand.
Even when he’s not zipping around everywhere, he’s hungry. (in more ways than one *cough* *cough* but we’ll get to that later)
Protein bars, dried fruit and other high calorie/energy but healthy snacks have a permanent home in all of your bags/purses
This also works out when you’re peckish
Thanks to your expense account at Stark Industries, you’re singlehandedly keeping your local Mom ‘n’ Pop grocery market in business.
Feeding this man is so damn expensive.
Meeting Wanda Maximoff
When Piet tells you he wants to introduce you to his sister, you’re terrified and simultaneously ecstatic.
SHE’S THE SCARLET WITCH. SHE’S AMAZING.
(somehow during the entire course of your 3 month relationship, you’ve kept how much you admire his legendary twin sister under wraps. That’s a feat in and of itself)
You try your hand at cooking a traditional Sokovia dinner to impress her but…aaahhh…that backfires spectacularly.
Wanda walks in to see you frantically trying to contain a small grease fire, cursing profusely.
She smiles to herself and jumps in to help. She adores you already.
You don’t even notice who’s helping you until you’re both covered in smoke and your dinner is charbroiled beyond recognition.
“OH NO,” you fret, “This isn’t how I wanted to impress you!”
Wanda is a little startled that you’d even consider impressing her. She’s just Piet’s sister. “Why would you want to impress me?”
“Are you kidding me!? You’re the Scarlet Witch! You’re the coolest Avenger ever! You’re the coolest hero ever!! You’re like…my idol.”
Wanda decides she’s keeping you after that.
It takes no time at all to become best friends.
There are many grumbles and complaints from Piet because ‘you’re hogging my partner. When do I get to spend time with them???’
Pietro meeting your family
He was the first you’d ever brought home to your family.
You were so nervous your family not liking him.
You were even more nervous that he wouldn’t like your family.
Especially if you’re Black, Asian, Native, Latinx or Hispanic
Your family was wildly protective of you.
Despite being Sokovian and Jewish, he still looked like a white boy and that could pose an issue for your traditional family.
Introducing him to your culture and having him not like it was also a fear.
Thankfully Piet’s charm went a long way to winning everyone over.He fit in perfectly.
Even your great aunt/uncle liked him and she/he was rude to everyone (without alcohol, but I digress).
Your little cousins/nieces/nephews absolutely ADORED ‘Uncle Piet’.
He was amazing with children and that made your mother pull you aside and ask when you’d give her grandchildren
“Honestly Mom/Ma/Mum, it’s only been a few months!!”
“I’m not getting any younger; I want some grandkids from you, [insert nickname here].”
“Mom/Ma/Mum…! Stop!!” you laugh at her insistence.
Wanda is also a hit with your family.
After finding out they’re orphans, your mother decides to adopt them because no one should grow up without a family. Wanda and Piet tear up and thank her profusely.
The rest of your family accepts them without question.
Worrying about Piet on missions
When the two of you met after Ultron, he told you about his near death experience.
You were someone he could talk to without pressure and that made it very easy to fall for you.
Your new status as a Stark employee allowed you to wait in the Tower whenever he went away on long missions.
Sometimes Wanda stayed behind with you. The two people Piet adored most in the world.
He always came back to you.
He’d begun taking extra precautions after Ultron. That was one experience he never wished to repeat.
Sometimes you had to patch him up
There were lots of kisses to his booboos which were usually very minor.
He was occasionally a big baby about it if it meant more kisses from you
There was one mission though…
No one came back unscathed. Not even Cap or Bucky.
Everyone looked like they’d walked through literal Hell.
It was a sobering sight.
No one liked to talk about it.
Pietro came home and kissed you so hard you could feel the agony roll off of him in waves.
That was the time he finally told you that he loved you.
Sex with Piet would include
Tender loving.
Pietro Maximoff might be a joking little shit but sex with you is the one thing he takes seriously.
He’s got such a thing for absolutely worshipping your body.
No matter where you are or how often you’ve had sex, he always looks at you like it’s the first time he’s ever seen you.
It’s the best thing honestly.
Hair pulling/playing with kink
You think he dyed his hair that obnoxious silver for it to go ignored?
Hellllll naaaawwww.
Ya boy outchea with the most sensitive fucking scalp ever.
The first time he ever went down on you, your hands ended up in his hair accidentally and he actually came in his pants.
That was a great night of exploration for the both of you.
Many orgasms were had.
Oral fixation
There’s no point in wearing underwear around Piet anymore because at any point, he’ll whisk you away just so you can ride his face.
Did I mention ya boy got a kink for worshipping you?
You on Top
Alternatively, he loves it when you’re in charge
He loses it when you edge him for so long that when he actually cums he sees a universe of stars behind his eyes.
One of his favorite things ever is the look on your face when you ride him.
Exhibition
PIETRO FUCKING MAXIMOFF IS THE RISKIEST MOTHER FUCKER EVER.
Restaurants, Elevators, Movie theaters, DINNER WITH THE AVENGERS, if he can sneak his between your legs, he fucking will.
This mans outchea with legendary finger game.
And that’s without using his speed.
But when he does use his speed to vibrate his fingers…you’re a goner.
Deceased.
Out of this world.
Transcended to the Astral Plane.
He also loves spanking your ass.
Actually, he loves your ass in general.
If you work out, he loves watching you do squats, yoga, lunges, anything that involves you in tight yoga pants.
This leads to alternative work outs.
Your stamina has actually improved since the two of you started having sex.
If you’re plus sized
He still worships you.
Your size isn’t a problem for him.
There’s more of you for him to love and that’s the real prize here.
Literally all of the above and all that follow apply because Pietro Maximoff is not a shallow motherfucker.
EXTRA COMFY SNUGGLES
He loves resting his head on your soft tum or lap when you cuddle because you play with his hair and it knocks him the fuck out.
Sometimes the hair playing leads to him yanking your pjs off and burying his face between your legs because goddamn that man loves making you cum.
Him adoring your confidence
You’re not one of those people who fakes being confident.
If you are, that’s okay, you’ll get there don’t worry.
You worked so long and so goddamn hard to love yourself and you deserve to be confident and in love with yourself.
Anyone who calls you vain can get fucked because you did not endure years of abuse just to bristle at a jealous motherfucker.
Date Nights
Fancy Dates
He always falls out when you dress up. A L W A Y S.
Literally every single time you put on something fancy he goes N U T S
“I have the most gorgeous date to ever exist and everyone needs to know this”.
SELFIES
Surprisingly (or not lmao) Pietro is the one demanding selfies with you because he wants the world to know he’s head over heels for you.
He also has a professional camera that he uses to sneak photos of you when he thinks you look the most beautiful.
He surprised you with a carefully constructed scrapbook of all of his favorite photos when you were having a particularly low confidence day. It was one of the best days of your life.
Anniversaries
Pietro is the boyfriend who celebrates ‘Month-a-versaries”
The first month you were together, he surprised you with flowers and a cake that said “Congrats on surviving me for a month”.
It was adorable and hilarious
Every month was a new theme. You were never sure what he would come up with next. There was always a cake that said “Congrats on surviving me”.
Your favorite month was after he finally said “I love you” he decorated your apartment in sticky notes with all the reasons why he loved you and all of his favorite memories.
His favorite month was when you surprised him with a cake that said “Thank you for loving me” and a mixtape of all the songs that reminded you of him because as much as Pietro loves you, you love him just the same.
Marriage
You accidentally proposed to Piet out of the blue one night.
You’d been together for a couple of years at this point.
Even through all the ups and downs, your love for each other never wavered.
The two of you were relaxing in bed in his room in the tower (BECAUSE TONY HAS THE BEST TV DEFINITION AND HE SAID I COULD COME EVER ANYTIME I WANTED DON’T FIGHT ME ABOUT THIS PIET) watching some Disney Movie or other.
“Would you ever marry me, Piet?”
“Without hesitation.”
“Wait seriously?”
He pulls you in for one of his signature toe curling kisses and nods. “Without hesitation.”
Wanda bursts into your bedroom shrieking happily because she’s always wanted another sibling.
“Wait Wanda it was a hypothetical question! I wasn’t actually proposing!”
It’s too late to take it back now because whatever Wanda wants Wanda gets.
You were marrying an Avenger; there was no choice but having an ostentatious wedding.
Your ENTIRE FAMILY showed up.
Being married to Piet isn’t much different from dating him.
You bought a house instead of living your tiny apartment. Piet still had his room at the Tower for Avenger business.
Except for the first couple of months Pietro couldn’t stop calling you [Y/N] Maximoff.
It was adorable and would never get old.
Whenever someone called for Maximoff in the Tower the three of you would answer all at once.
“No not you the other one. No the other, other one!” “Yes that one.”
This lead to having specific (nick)names for all of you.
“Hey Speedy!”
Wanda quite liked her first name thank you very much.
Sam heard Piet call you ‘sugar’ ONCE, and suddenly you were the Tower “Sweetie”.
This lead to Piet having to come up with other nicknames for you.
Your favorite was ‘darling’.

DAY 3333
Jalsa, Mumbai May 13/14, 2017 Sat/Sun 1:28 am
An errant lad this creator of the Blog .. lethargic in his attendance and in his outputs of the written word .. compelling the Ef to wonder why they must continue to be where they ought to be ..
So .. since apologies are unaccepted by they that give this platform the dignity and visibility of its existence, I shall seek none ..
Instead I wish to complete what perhaps could have looked like an incomplete attendance at class ..

The IPL T20 Extra Innings interview .. sudden and honoured to be in the company of the great Sunil Gavaskar, one with whom there now exists a long and memorable association ..
The first meeting in London, where they came as the India Team and were invited for dinner at Jaya’s Uncle’s home who worked with the BBC, and the subsequent ride in a friend’s sports car stuffed with the mighty talents of cricket at the time - 1973 - in a 2 seater, dropping them off at their Hotel .. to the wedding invite for his sister’s wedding to the dynamic Vishvanath at Shivaji Park and so many years of not forgetting each others birthday to date ..
Kapil Dev and Madan after their incredible victory in the 1983 World Cup .. my concert tour of the UK and USA, and inviting Kapil and Madan to the stage at Wembley and the roar of the audience when they appeared .. truly a recognition most deserving ..
Those very early years of University and Sherwood and the desire to see a live cricket match .. it was in Delhi, and yes at the Ferozshah Kotla ground, then not even remotely looking like the spanking stadium it is now .. a India Pakistan match and the likes of Fazal Mehmood, the green eyed handsome pace bowler, who had in an earlier contest in England bowled so superbly that the British media termed it with a headline - ‘England Fuzzled out’ - a pun on the first name of Fazal Mehmood .. that game with the likes of another great from Pakistan, Hanif Mohammed .. and the Captain of the day Polly Umrigar, putting on our own bowling sensation Ramakant Desai as soon a Hanif came to bat, for, if there was one person that Hanif was uncomfortable to face it was Ramakant Desai !! and yes he bowled him out on that day too ..
The West Indies stalwarts that came over during that time .. the massive bowling and batting giants - Hall, Griffith, Kanhai and many others .. the pace attack bowlers so aggressive and frighteningly fast that as they would start their run up it seemed as they would blow someone’s head off .. indeed they did .. of Nari Contractor our Captain .. that wonderful story of an opposing batsman coming in to bat, crossing the boundary line to enter the field to bat, finding one of those bowling West Indian greats, that had immensely long run ups, standing near the boundary line almost, ready to take the start of his over, and the new batsman entering the field going past him and wondering why he was standing there, so far away from his bowling wicket and the response from the bowler -
“ You shall soon find out “ ... !!
hehahaaah .. the bowlers run up used to start from a few minuscule feet away from the boundary line ...
And then of course some other great thereafter - Chandu Borde, and Eknath Solkar and his prowess as the close in fielder .. Manjrekar and Ramchand and even before them the V’s - Vinu Mankad, Vijay Hazare, Vijay Merchant .. and the autographs sent to me by my Father from England, where he had gone to do his PhD in English Literature and the Indian community traditionally being invited at Buckingham Palace for an At Home .. the cricket team along with my Father being guests and my Father seeking the autograph of the players ..
Those friendly charity cricket matches that the film industry played with the Indian Team .. that moment when I was bowling and the Umpire guiding me by telly me to bowl over the wicket and shorter .. and I looking at him with some dismay, as to why he was guiding me and me not liking being told like so .. and on disclosing my displeasure to another team member, he telling me off with :
“You absolute idiot .. that Umpire is the great Vinu Mankad “ ! and me not knowing where to hide my face from this spin bowling giant, Mr Mankad ..
Ahh .. the memory goes on for years and years .. right down to present times and Sachin and MS Dhoni and all the younger players that exhibit such tremendous energy and skills on the pitch .. MS Dhoni walking on to the set of ‘BaghBaan’ while I was shooting and all of us in absolute awe of the man ..
Hmmm .. the tales shall continue ..

Mother’s Day and other appointments with WHO .. and so much more .. later

Amitabh Bachchan
