life update - long
It took me a hot minute to find the last update. December, I guess? I'm so tired I never stop being tired and time is not real anymore. Anyway. Disability Stuff: I won my case in federal court in February. They said it'd take a year so I was a little hm. Found out the SSA voluntarily asked the judge for the remand because the written decision was indefensible and they were gonna take another look. Pros: Hey, I won! I get a second hearing! Cons: I didn't get a brief written by the federal law firm because there was no time. This is actually a tactic used by the SSA. I have no doubt they're fine tuning another denial. I also have to wait for the lower level court to figure out what was so bad about it (that they'd already ruled was perfect) to give to the judge I will have another hearing with. The same judge. Who said I was a liar multiple times and omitted eight months of medical evidence and said mental health issues are subjective hahaha. I hate this country. Health: Boy howdy it's been better and worse. I had the tilt table test in late December, went... ok enough, but my neuro didn't like how ambiguous the report was and sent me back to them to speak to an autonomic disorder specialist. Scheduled in Jan, just had my appt with her this month lol she is busy. She ordered: genetics test, labs, and skin biopsy. I've done the first two, third is scheduled in July and I'm gonna be a mess because needles u_u Brain stuff is much of the same. Episodic. Manageable times are a godsend, bad times are really bad. My heart started to do some funky ass shit a few months ago. My mom kept writing it off as anxiety no matter how much I explained that it felt like my heart was pounding after exercise. My BP and pulse shot up high for a while and b/c my pulse never came back down and it was interfering with, you know, living, my PCP sent me to cardiology. :') Cause I wanted my heart involved in this mess One 24hr holter monitor, echo, and heart ultrasound later, and I have a new heart condition. He said 'your heart is beating so fast you would normally see it with exercise' bada boom baby and has nothing to do with fucking ANXIETY >:[ I'm on heart medication. 10 meds. I need to start another med for my psych but that's 11 and I'm honestly getting upset because it's so fucking much medication in one day but every single one of them is necessary so what can really I do? Personal: Relationship with my mom is at an all time low. This is extremely unfortunate because a few weeks ago, my mom told me she is basically being 'laid off' (she's not losing her job for a while, just retiring earlier than expected) and I have to leave my home of 10 years by mid-August. Got no sympathy from her about it *finger guns* I've gone through the devastation of that and am kind of just stuck in how is any of that gonna work. My brother and I can't live together, so he's gonna move into a family friend's rental. Except he has no job and hasn't been able to get one in months. He started one on Monday, is gonna leave by Friday because it's horrific ig. Anyway my mom promises he won't be there. We have to move based on my disabilities and my mom's house is gonna have to reflect what we have here. I'll see it when I believe it. I don't trust her anymore. Extra unfortunate that I'm gonna be living 24/7 with my mother who has been an abusive person in my life the past two years. The short break thru the day that my apartment is just mine, quiet and gentle, is gonna be gone. I'll be introducing my solitary 11 year old cat Lilly into a house with 3 other cats. She only knew Isis her entire life. She was just diagnosed with neuro issues this year after going through an MRI. We don't know if she has seizure activity or if it's movement disorder, but the med she's on treats both and she has gotten better. Same process Isis went through. Cannot believe I have two cats with neuro issues and likely the same one. May 18th was one year since Isis passed. Rough, tiring day.
I don't know how it has been that long. Feels like it just happened. I can still see her and feel her through my apartment and losing it in August will probably shatter me most because of losing the last place she existed in. I miss her more than I can say.
She was my little soulmate and her absence is felt in every corner here. Writing/Fandom:
I went through a whole fucking situation over in the Stranger Things fandom that has left me not wanting to post anymore. Idk if neuro shit has destroyed my ability to write but it's humiliating and painful every time I post a fic.
I posted stucky (1 out of 2 fics this year) on my main acct and lost 8 fuckin user subs? Like goddamn. What'd stucky do 😭 anyway it was even more devastating and kinda like 'here's your big ass sign to keep your writing to yourself.'
Between the god awful shit that happened in the ST fandom and my inability to put together even a good one shot, I'm feeling really down about one of two creative things I can do in my life. I used to love sharing my stuff. I want to write and share but it feels like it's harming my MH. I can't draw or paint right now, either. And I can barely move around my apartment without pain. I can't even leave it except for doctor appointments.
Idk. Very walls are closing in type of feeling and I hate it. In short: I'm tired, struggling, and too many things are happening at once. I love you all 😩💜 thank you for your patience and love and kind words. Your support is felt through one update to the next. I hope you're all well and I'm sending all my love and hugs to you.

I have a suspicion that Dr.’s just like telling patients to not do whatever the patient already knows helps.
Before I got a POTS diagnosis, my PCP (who later had to look up what POTS was) kept telling me to eat less salt and exercise more. A cardiologist told me the same thing after hearing my family history of high cholesterol and BP. The cardiologist misread my heart monitor results. All this time I was eating salt packets and drinking ungodly amounts of sports drink, which I was told not to do. Shocker, I’ve had POTS the whole time and salt and graduated activity is the recommended course of action for symptom management.

*Screaming into the void*
I saw a US doctor today for treatment of chronic physical health issues. I couldn't see my PCP because even though Medicaid (which I am poor enough to qualify for) requires a PCP visit within 60 days of receiving coverage, my PCP is booked solid for more than 2 months out.
The good news first: This was the greatest amount of time I have ever had the full attention of a US physician on a single visit! She was in the room with me asking for context and history surrounding my physical health issues, and addressed my behavioral health history and treatment as well. I got a full 20 minutes of face-to-face in-person interaction with a Dr. (not PA, not Intern, not NP), for the first time in my life.
The bad news: I earned this truly medically beneficial experience by showing up with blood pressure high enough to warrant multiple re-tests of my BP and also an EKG, while my reported reason for visit was chronic pain, injury related pain, and involuntary muscle movements. If my BP had been normal, or even just elevated, this visit would have been a quick in-out like most. My BP was nearly in the range of what is considered "hypertensive crisis" which requires immediate medical attention. 168/120
I have had high blood pressure readings at every doctor visit since my mid 20's. I'm 34 now, and after being written off year after year as having "white coat hypertension", generalized anxiety, and being considered "borderline" for high blood pressure (you're too young for medication intervention), I was finally unhealthy enough to get taken seriously.
I left the visit with a lot of faith in the doctor that treated me, for doing the necessary work to get my health history, circumstances of my life, and a broader understanding of what is going on with me. I did not leave with a prescription for blood pressure medication. I was told to improve diet and increase exercise, no alcohol, limit salt, no smoking (I don't). Monitor your BP at home with a cuff (tonight's reading was 160/106) and bring data to your next visit and we can maybe treat the condition that had us (the medical practice) most concerned.
I got a referral for 2 different forms of physical therapy, and an X-ray of my cervical spine. She cautioned to avoid using NSAID painkillers due to a risk of worsening my gastrointestinal issues, and didn't prescribe anything to manage the pain I booked the visit for, which is usual in my experience receiving US healthcare.
I can go on and on, and probably would if I wasn't getting tired, but in addition to trying to monitor and control my blood pressure, manage my IBD and pelvic floor dysfunction, and behavioral health conditions, I need to find providers that my insurance will cover for physical therapy visits and doctor appointments. I need to find employment, to pay for my healthcare expenses, assuming I'm healthy enough to work. If I work full-time or make more than $13/hr, I will make too much money to qualify for Medicaid.
It feels like quicksand. I might actually die of a heart attack if I can't solve all of these issues on my own. There is no social safety net in the US.
*yes, I probably do have "white coat hypertension" and it is a real thing for people with behavioral health issues like anxiety. I have also gone to a hospital for help with acute pain and been told "there's nothing wrong with you, here's your ER bill" as well as being taken to a hospital only to have my clothes forcibly stripped by 6 police/security officers when asked to change into a gown.
**Yes, a full-time job can and often does provide healthcare benefits and coverage, but that assumes I am able to make it through the 90-day period of being a new-hire without benefits, without missing work, even for health related issues. Absenteeism is a death sentence in employment, even when you do take time off to manage your health with unpaid time off or call-ins.
***I am without a college degree, and right now a majority of the vacancies in the US workforce are labor intensive or have labor demands (standing the whole shift, ability to lift repeatedly or bend and twist). Without a degree, I have yet to attain an interview for any job that offers you a seat and a computer/desk. My pain issues and hypertension have narrowed my job search focus to jobs of this kind, I'll post again if I find a role, but don't hold your breath.
*All attempts to escape poverty will be punished with withdrawal of support systems* It’s the American way.

Blood Pressure
A Quick Introduction
Blood pressure (BP) is an excellent indicator of general wellness. It denotes the pressure from blood against your blood vessel walls as the heart pumps it round. Keeping this within a desirable range is helpful in preventing significant health problems way down the track.
Normal Levels of BP
20/80 mmHg**: Indicative of a healthy level of BP. - Above **140/90 mmHg** is considered *hypertension* or high blood pressure, and below **90/60 mmHg** may be termed as *hypotension* or low blood pressure.
How to Control Blood Pressure
- **Reduce stress**: Practice yoga, meditation, or engage in activities that help you relax. - **Maintain a healthy weight**: Adopt a balanced diet and regular exercise to manage body weight effectively. - Take regular exercise: Do at least 30 minutes of physical exercise each day. Some common exercises include walking, cycling, and swimming. Increase your intake of potassium-rich foods like bananas, spinach, and sweet potatoes. Reduce the salt content in your food since it controls the blood pressure. - **Restrict fatty and processed foods**: Avoid red meat (beef and pork), shellfish (shrimp and squid), and oily or fried foods. - **Increase fruits and vegetables**: Include fresh vegetables and fruits in your diet for better heart health. - **Medication if necessary**: If BP is still high, consult a doctor and follow prescribed medication. Usually, blood pressure can be controlled and in many cases maintained within a healthy range by following these steps.

How Is Blood Pressure Diagnosed? Insights from Top Diabetologists in Dombivli
Understanding Blood Pressure and Its Role in Cardiovascular Health
Blood pressure (BP) is a key measure of an individual's cardiovascular health. Timely and accurate diagnosis of blood pressure is crucial in managing conditions like hypertension and preventing complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Diagnosing BP correctly requires an understanding of various factors and diagnostic methods employed by healthcare professionals, including specialized doctors like  diabetologist in Dombivli .
What is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure refers to the force exerted by the blood as it moves through the arteries. It is measured using two values: systolic (the upper number) and diastolic (the lower number). Systolic pressure measures the force when the heart beats and pumps blood, while diastolic pressure measures the pressure when the heart is at rest between beats. A normal blood pressure reading is typically around 120/80 mmHg.
The Role of Diabetologists in Blood Pressure Monitoring
Individuals with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing high blood pressure (hypertension). This makes regular monitoring of blood pressure particularly important. A  diabetes specialist doctor in Dombivli plays an essential role in tracking and managing BP to prevent complications related to both diabetes and hypertension.
How is Blood Pressure Diagnosed?
Blood pressure is usually diagnosed using a sphygmomanometer, a device that includes a cuff, a bulb to inflate the cuff, and a gauge to measure the pressure. However, achieving an accurate diagnosis involves considering various factors and challenges:
1. In-Office Measurements
Most blood pressure readings are taken during doctor’s visits. However, stress or anxiety during appointments can cause "white coat hypertension", leading to temporarily higher readings. To get a more accurate assessment, doctors often recommend multiple readings taken at different times.
2. Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
To overcome the inconsistencies of in-office readings, patients are often encouraged to monitor their blood pressure at home. This allows the best diabetologist  to get a more comprehensive picture of a patient's BP over time, minimizing the effects of external
3. Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)
For patients whose BP fluctuates, ABPM may be used. This involves wearing a portable device that automatically measures blood pressure at regular intervals over 24 hours, capturing data on both daytime and nighttime blood pressure.
Factors Influencing Blood Pressure Readings
Accurate diagnosis of blood pressure depends on several factors:
1. Lifestyle Factors
Diet, exercise, sleep, and stress levels all play a significant role in blood pressure. Diabetologists often recommend lifestyle changes to manage both diabetes and hypertension effectively.
2. Medical Conditions
Certain conditions, such as obesity, kidney disease, and diabetes, can increase the risk of developing hypertension. Consulting with leading diabetologists in Dombivli is crucial for managing these conditions and minimizing the risk of high blood pressure.
3. Medication Impact
Certain medications, including those used to treat diabetes, can also affect blood pressure. A diabetologist in Dombivli will consider any medication interactions when diagnosing and treating high blood pressure in diabetic patients.
Challenges in Diagnosing Blood Pressure
While measuring blood pressure seems straightforward, there are a few complexities involved:
1. Balancing Accuracy with Convenience
Although home and ambulatory monitoring provide more accurate results, they can also be more costly and require patient cooperation. best diabetologist in Thane need to weigh the benefits of these methods against their feasibility for each patient.
2. Patient Compliance
Managing high blood pressure requires patients to consistently monitor their BP and follow lifestyle recommendations. A diabetes specialist in Dombivli often faces challenges in ensuring that patients remain committed to their treatment plans.

Homoeopathic Remedies for Blood Pressure Control
Tumblr media
Maintaining healthy blood pressure levels is essential for overall well-being. With the increasing prevalence of hypertension, exploring effective management strategies becomes vital. Homoeopathy offers natural solutions for blood pressure control by addressing the root cause of hypertension.
What is Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)?
Hypertension, commonly known as high blood pressure, is a medical condition in which the force of the blood against the walls of your arteries is consistently too high. This puts extra strain on your heart and blood vessels, which can eventually lead to serious health problems such as heart disease, stroke, kidney damage, and eye problems. Hypertension is often called a "silent killer" because it typically has no symptoms, and many people may not know they have it until significant damage occurs.
Cardiovascular Health Range
Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and is expressed with two numbers:
Systolic pressure: The first (higher) number measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats and pumps out blood.
Diastolic pressure: The second (lower) number measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart is resting between beats.
Normal blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg. When the blood pressure consistently exceeds these values, it may indicate hypertension.
Stages of Hypertension
Normal: 120/80 mmHg
Elevated: Systolic between 120-129 and diastolic less than 80 mmHg
Hypertension Stage 1: Systolic between 130-139 or diastolic between 80-89 mmHg
Hypertension Stage 2: Systolic 140 or higher or diastolic 90 or higher
Hypertensive Crisis: Systolic over 180 and/or diastolic over 120 (requires immediate medical attention)
Homeopathic Remedies for Hypertension
Here are some common homoeopathic remedies that can help manage hypertension (high blood pressure):
Adel 8 Drops: Particularly helpful in reducing and controlling high blood pressure in cases where no clear cause is diagnosed. This remedy addresses hypertension-related elasticity problems, psychosomatic factors, and organ function.
Adel’s Crataegus oxyacantha Q: Effective for hypertension associated with heart weakness and a sensation of pressure or weight in the chest. It helps regulate blood pressure and improve heart function.

Blood pressure is measured in two numbers:
Systolic pressure: The top number, indicates the pressure when your heart beats.
Diastolic pressure: The bottom number, represents the pressure when your heart rests between beats.
A blood pressure (BP) reading of 120/80 mmHg or lower is considered normal. Hypertension is diagnosed when your blood pressure consistently measures above 130/80 mmHg.
Causes of Hypertension
While the exact cause of primary hypertension (the most common type) is unknown, several factors contribute to its development: The reason of high blood pressure may include:
Age: The risk of hypertension increases with age.

Diet: High intake of sodium and low potassium intake can contribute to hypertension.
Smoking: Smoking damages blood vessels and elevates blood pressure.
Stress: Chronic stress can elevate blood pressure.
Chronic conditions: Conditions like kidney disease, sleep apnea, and diabetes can increase the risk.

Healthy diet: Reduce sodium intake, increase potassium-rich foods, and focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
Regular exercise: Set a goal for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week.
Weight management: Losing even a small amount of weight can significantly lower blood pressure.
Limit alcohol and caffeine: Excessive consumption can elevate blood pressure.
Quit smoking: Smoking damages blood vessels and increases blood pressure.
Manage stress: Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation or yoga.
Medication: If lifestyle changes aren't enough, your doctor may prescribe blood pressure medication.

5 Tips for Reducing Cholesterol Without Medication
This article is originally published on Freedom from Diabetes website, available here. Cholesterol is a waxy-textured substance produced by the body to perform many essential functions, for instance: to make cell membranes, produce certain hormones, and Vitamin D. But like so many good things, cholesterol too is harmful in excess.
Tumblr media
There are two types of Cholesterol
High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and 2. Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL).
HDL is called as a good cholesterol because it carries cholesterol to your liver, where it is removed as waste before it can build up in your body.
LDL carries cholesterol directly to your arteries, where it accumulates and forms hard deposits on arterial walls, hardening and narrowing the arteries, hence its description as “bad” cholesterol.
Natural ways to reduce cholesterol
1) Maintain your diet: Unhealthy food, unhealthy diet are the main reasons of high cholesterol. High nitrites, salt, sugar, trans fats, saturated fat, animal dairy, and dairy products, these items are responsible for the rising incidences of cholesterol-related problems. The best thing you can do for your health which is healthy diet and avoid food containing saturated and trans fats.
2)Exercise: Exercise is also benefecial for lowering BP to reducing blood glucose levels. We have to do daily exercise to keep yourself healthy. Walking is also good exercise, try to add a mix of cardio, resistance, and flexibility exercises into your routine. There are other exercise also good for health, jogging, swimming, dancing, running etc.
3)Lose weight:For every extra pound you carry, your body produces a couple of extra milligrams of cholesterol. Every Day! Being overweight affects the way your body produces and uses lipoproteins and triglycerides. Triglycerides are a lipid (fatty substance) your body needs but only in tiny amounts.
Excessive triglycerides increase the amount of free fatty acids carried to the liver; it can make you insulin resistant (which further increases the free fatty acids in your liver) and it increases inflammation in the body, which affects the body’s ability to produce and manage good cholesterol—HDL.
Introducing healthy, nutrient-dense foods into your diet, cutting out excessively salty, sweet, and oily foods, portion control and exercise will help you reduce your body weight and improve your cholesterol levels.
4)Natural Supplements: Natural supplements include Garlic, Flax seeds, Soluble Fiber. Garlic has gastronomic feature, great cholesterol buster. If you consume garlic regularly its helpful in lower BP, and cholesterol levels. Flax seeds has cholesterol-busting properties is Omega-3 Fatty Acid, an alpha-linoleic acid (ALA) that is very good for heart health. Soluble fiber is the medium your body uses to improve its digestive function.
5)Stop Smoking: Smoking is universally known to be harmful to your health, but yet many peoples still do it. This isn't good, and it's important to stop smoking as soon as possible. And if you’re suffering from cholesterol problems, it’s worse, it hits you with a double whammy. Another negative factor is that smoking damages the blood vessel lining, which further increases the risk of heart attacks and stroke.
Cholesterol is both good and bad. LDL, aka, bad cholesterol leads to arterial plaque, hardening, and narrowing of the arteries, with the risk of heart attack and stroke. HDL, aka, good cholesterol is carried to the liver where it is processed and removed from the blood. The body produces sufficient cholesterol for its own needs. When we adopt unhealthy lifestyle habits—unhealthy diets, insufficient exercise, ignoring stress—we raise cholesterol levels in our own bodies. To read more about this, please visit our Article.
