No pressure but I saw your reblog about the comment counter and there are a few websites that would let you build a goal tracker. Or it's even possible to make it all happen in gdocs (like having participants enter their totals in a gform that feeds into a spreadsheet) but I know this might be too much work for the event mods, or goes against the relaxed nature of your event. I'm happy to help build things if I can - even if you want to wait and have it for next time!
FRIENDO THANKS TO THIS ASK WE ARE WORKING ON A GOOGLE FORM RIGHT NOW!!! WHAT A GOOD IDEA THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THIS SPRING'S JUST LEAVE A COMMENT FEST!!!!

Hello my friend, for the ask game: 1, 2, 10, 20 and 30! Have a nice day :)
Hiiiii krobs, thank you for the ask <3 <3
1. What song makes you feel better? Pretty much any song on my healing playlist i made for some of my closest friends. I will say some of the songs on there make me cry a little harder than I care to admit but they’re loving songs full of hope.
2. What is your go-to comfort show? Again, this one has multiple answers, usually the fifth episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, or All Creatures Great and Small, depending on how sad I am.
10. When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? Oh my god I love this question, mostly because the randomest shit will make me absolutely lose it. I think the last time I distinctly remember crying laughing is when I hung out with some old friends last week. I don’t remember the context but I’ve known them since first grade and they mean the absolute world to me. We were doing the eye color bracelet trend that day :) miss you @leewayslounge
20. Tell us about a memory you hold close to your heart. It’s more of a collection, really, of the first few weeks I got to know of my closest friends @asleep-human . I’ll never really forget how close we got so quickly, and just remembering the day after we met that being friends with her was going to change the trajectory of my life. One of my favorite memories is sitting in the parking lot one time singing bits and pieces from the Greatest Showman together.
(Since you’re a hobbit fan I’ll add a bonus memory of my dad reading the Hobbit to me and crying when he read Thorin’s death to me and my mom)
30. What do your hobbies look like? Art: pure, utter pain since the day I made it my major | Jewelry-making: haven’t done much recently but so fulfilling | Music: my passion for music is stronger than ever these days | Writing: we’re so back. I’ve got a huge fic im planning with another best friend @simonskizm and we’re so excited to drop it | Hot boy walks: it’s too god damn cold out to do walks someone save me
@krobus-the-krobro this was such a great ask to answer, and a lovely way to start the day i turn 20. It’s really cool my birthday is a day after Dean’s!!! Thank you for reminding me of the good.

That first view of the Event Horizon from the movie of the same name. Such a fantastic establishing shot. Haunted house in space, the ominous vessel hanging silently in space above the eye of a storm in Neptune's atmosphere. Now that is how you introduce a spooky space ship.

need to look through my closet for what clothes a bird can wear

Generally you can style birds in big loose stuff or vests Like I do for sinner. You mostly want to leave the wings and tail free. I remember you wearing big bright button-ups and I think that would work but I don't know if you still do that.

So much of this is good. SO MUCH OF THIS IS GOOD. (It's on the longer side but every bit of it is educational)
But why does any of this matter? What’s lost when movies just become a series of memeable one-liners and action scenes that can be distilled down into a gif? What’s lost when the necessary implication of the audience in the experience of viewing a film is removed and we become merely passive consumers of moving images that stir nothing in us, that don’t engage our bodies, our hearts, our minds, or shake us from our late capitalist catatonia? Why does it matter that we now only interact with trauma narratives through prepackaged IP nuggets delivered to us neatly in a series like WandaVision (created by Jac Schaeffer, 2021), or the Halloween franchise? What’s lost when the sex scene disappears from our movies, when the very presence of sexual desire and bodily expression incites revulsion? What’s lost is our connection to one another beyond the fetters of capitalism, indeed the very thing that makes us human. What’s lost is our “sense of the real” (Telotte), the visceral and radical experiences that Verhoeven’s Hollywood films, even and especially through the persistence and abundance of sex scenes, were dedicated to recovering, all of which today’s cinema is inevitably without. What’s lost is the last thing that stands between us and the system that forever seeks to turn us into nothing more than another product.
