(Miguel O' Hara x Female! Reader)
A/N: Hello~ I got another Miggy and Sunny post for my beloved readers, and I think you'll like it. I'm still working on the request too, but I had this idea and I had to write it. Also if you want to be notified about this series, please leave a comment on this post, and if you wanna read more then check out my master list.
Also thank you guys for 100 followers! I really appreciate you guys so much and I hope you all stay with me on this journey!
Warnings: Grumpy x Sunshine, Barley any use of (Y/N) ((Sunny is a nickname, not her name)), Female pronouns, Miguel being a teasing mf, Gwen being a snoopy spider, Establish Relationship?, Fluff, a little break in canon, and Google translate Spanish ((please give me critique if you guys are fluent in Spanish because I don't know how to speak it.))
Still haven't seen the movie yet so excuse any inaccuracies.
“So are they?” Jessica stops picking at her salad as the younger SpiderWoman peers over her shoulder.
Turning her head slightly, it didn’t take her long to discover what the young protégé’s attention is focused on.
The signature blue costume hugged the tall Spiderman as he stood several feet away from them. His normally dangerous talons were hidden by the two trays of food in each hand. His eyes were narrowed in annoyance as he seems to be hyperlinked on something. It didn’t take long before Jessica figured out who she needed to spot as the source of Miguel’s irritation.
The black and white costume of the tiny spider caught her eyes first before she realizes that Peter B. Parker had enamored her attention away from Miguel.
Well, not so much him, but the one-month-old Mayday Parker had the Spider Society's sunshine orbiting around her. Her little hand grasps around the digit of an older woman as Sunny cooes. A look of awe and sadness filled her eyes as the whole world seemed to disappear around her.
“Are they what?” Jessica asks as she turns her attention back to her lunch, mildly groaning as her little bug certainly didn’t appreciate the diet their daddy put them on.
“Is Miguel and (Y/N) together?” Gwen repeats her question as she analyzes Miguel’s body language.
It was odd to Gwen as Miguel appeared to be annoyed that he had to hold their plates while waiting on her, but he didn’t make a move to say to rush along the tiny spider. In fact, Gwen nearly choked on her drink as she sees the longing gaze in his garnet eyes.
“To be honest…” Jessica catches Gwen’s attention again as she starts packing away her now empty tray with trash. “I’ve been a part of the Society for a long time, but Sunny was here before I was. Her and Miguel are kinda a packaged deal, but I have no idea if they are together.” Gwen tilts her head with a confused look on her face. She knew the older Spiderwoman was one of the first members of the Society when Miguel created it, but she didn’t know the cheery spider was here longer than Jess.
“She was here before you?”
“She was here before all of us.” Peter interrupts as he plops in the seat next to Gwen. The infant was now quietly sleeping against her father’s chest with webbing holding her up. Peter steals one of Gwen’s french fries off of her tray as Gwen looked annoyed by him. “Miss Sunshine was the first spider Miguel recruited from what I heard, and I should know.” He plops the fry into his mouth as he chats. “I was the second.”
Jessica chuckles at Gwen’s shocked face at the realization as to how long the futuristic spider man has had his cheery companion. “Little bit wants to know if the big guy and Sunny are a thing or not?” Peter raises an eyebrow as he teases Gwen, “Why? You got a crush on one of them?”
“Ew, no. They are old and I’m 16. It's just they are always together and they seem like a couple, but they don’t do normal couple things.” Gwen whines as her face burns in embarrassment.
“First off, they are not old.” Peter scoffs as he runs a hand through his own graying hair. “Miguel is 28 and Sunny just turned 27.”
Jessica giggles as a memory pops into her mind. The look on Miguel’s face when his smaller companion brought him a cake she made for his birthday will forever be Jessica’s favorite moment since joining this team. Well, the second greatest moment. The slight teary-eyed look the leader gave to the bouncing spider as he had to endure her butchering the birthday song was also very funny. At least she can cook better than she can sing.
“And adult relationships aren’t like the ones you’ve seen in high school.” Peter sighs as he remembers the regretful decisions he made in high school. “They aren’t gonna make out in the hallways or tell each other that they love each other every five minutes.” “So they are together?” Gwen slaps Peter’s hand away from her fries, which causes the baby to stir. Peter hastily bounces the baby as he throws Gwen a glare.
“Oh, I have no idea,” Peter answers honestly as Gwen plops her head on the table. “Why don’t you ask them?”
Jessica smiles fondly as Mayday stares at Peter as he finally starts eating his own food. Her hand wanders to the growing baby bump as she looks into Gwen’s frustrated gaze. “Never hurts to ask. But I suggest asking Sunny because Miguel will deny everything.”
~~~~
“Miss. (Y/N), are you dating Spiderman?” Gwen rehearses to herself as she wanders down the corridor, trying to find her cheery colleague. Gwen groans as rubs her face in frustration, hating all the ideas she came up with sounded childish. How do you ask a grown woman if she is dating her boss? Especially if you’re mutant superheroes who travel to different dimensions and fight anomalies in bright spider costumes.
Just as Gwen rounds a corner, a series of grunts fall into her ears as she draws closer to the combat simulator. One of Lyla’s ideas for the HQ was to include a training room with the ability to use advanced AIs to simulate how fighting in different dimensions. She also thought it would be a fun idea to make it a level system so Miguel can review their abilities and hand out missions appropriate for the skill sets. Gwen attempted to fight in there several times, but she always gets her ass handed to her once she reaches level 3.
Reaching the door, she peers into the window and sees a disheveled Miguel as he stood in his spider suit in a barely lit simulation. His back to her, she can see his shoulders heave as he pants for a breath of relief in this difficult setting. Despite his lack of spidey sense, Gwen knew he was pretty agile and was one of the strongest Spidermen they had. His talons emerge as his mask disintegrates. His fangs shine in the dim lighting as he looks around the room, looking for something.
Hunting for something.
She ducks when Miguel looks her way before peeking her head back up. Before she can realize what’s going on, a flash of white gets whipped at the menacing spider, causing him to shred the opposing webbing to bits. Miguel focuses on the direction the attack came from as a smirk rolls onto his face as he approaches his invisible prey. His eyes a dangerous red as his mischief and hunger grows at the anticipation.
“¿Dónde estás, mi pequeña araña?” The predator purrs as his gaze locks on a particular corner. Gwen could barely hear it, but a faint sound of panting, of his prey trying to catch her breath. “No me dejarías esperando demasiado, ¿verdad? Extraño desesperadamente tu dulce rostro, querida.”
Miguel saunters slowly towards the faint sound, a glint of victory shining in his eyes as the smell of her perfume floats into his nose. His smirk turns into a deviously sweet smile as he cracks the bones in his hand. “Especialmente cuando estás gimiendo tan dulcemente debajo de mí…” He mumbles as he finally lunges toward the corner. Gwen puts a hand in her mouth to hide the gasp as he pounces but tilts her head in confusion as his hunt turns sour.
Miguel looks equally stunned for a moment when he realizes that nothing was in his grasp. He pats around the corner to make sure before his hand gets caught on something. He growls as he tries to free his hand upon realizing that it was a trap. A flash of white traps the other hand to the wall above the other as the air rings with giggles.
“Caught you, Miggy!~” A voice cheers from above as both Miguel and Gwen look up to the ceiling. In a faint glow of green, the victorious smile of the small jumping spider appears out of thin air. Unexpectedly, Miguel meets her smile with a warm chuckle as the hints of a smile appear on his face. “You certainly did, little one.” He sighs as the woman hops down and lands in a crouch position in front of him. Gwen smiles at the adorable display until the older woman leaned over to Miguel’s shoulder. Miguel flinches slightly with a flush of red covering his face as Gwen realizes what just happened.
‘Did she just bite him?!’ Gwen thought as she stared at the smiling duo in bewilderment.
“Think its going to leave a mark?” He commented as he watches in amusement as his sunshine glares at him.
“It better! Yours are gonna take forever to heal.” She huffs as she stands up. Miguel rolls his eyes and chuckles at her attempt to appear annoyed.
“It's not that bad…” “NOT THAT BAD?!” Sunny blurts out, interrupting the amused man.
The top part of her costume disintegrates, exposing her tank top underneath as Gwen had to stop herself from shouting in shock. Littering the small spider’s frame were 5 large bruising bite marks, each featuring two distinct puncture wounds. Gwen looks up at the panel beside the door and sees they are on level 6 of 1v1 combat simulation. The realization dawns on the teenager as her face turns an unflattering shade of red. Before she can witness anymore, Gwen teleports out of the corridor as the duo sees the flash of orange.
“What was that?”
“I don’t know, but whoever it was is gonna be on trash duty for a month”
~~~~~
“So you ever asked her about if she and Miguel are-”
“No, and I’ll never try to figure that out again.”

// warnings for entire series- strong language, affairs (obviously), broken marriages, mentions of tom Parker (ew), smut (Elvis trying to get into readers pants, fingering, oral (m! And f! Receiving), handjobs, angry sex, angsty sex, back clawing, Elvis’s dick will probably bleed at some point, mentions of him fucking Priscilla(..no comment),moaning and ect.), fighting, yelling, punching things (not the reader elvis is NOT abusive)//
Tumblr media
watching him move on stage with such a passion, and messing with the crowd an the band. It all made your feelings deepen, especially when he gave you attention on stage or off stage either way it made your heart throb with desire and desperation in a way.
You and Charlie sat in the room that lead to the stage warming up your vocals for the concert that was about to start. A slam on the door notioned that the boys were here. Elvis came tackling sonny into the room once the door was opened the others following close behind.
You softly smiled looking over at Elvis from the edge of your paper that had the lyrics on it. You put your attention back to the paper as Charlie got up and went to Elvis involving himself in whatever the guys were doing.
Quickly reading over the paper to get what you need, setting the paper down and getting up making your way to the door and towards the stage. You walked up set the water bottles up for everyone and positioned the microphones the way they needed.
"What'd ya doin'?" A very familiar southern accent bellowed from the steps of the stage, you look over and smile at Elvis as he made his way up and towards you.
"I'm just getting everything set up" you say looking back at the microphone that you were fixing. "Ain't that a job for the people that set up the stage?" He asks chuckling, his arm brushed against yours, you didn't know he'd made his way over here already but it felt nice even if it wasn't a genuine touch from him you simply felt like it was something.
Anything from him was something, a simple breath or gaze your way would have you falling in the floor.
"I suppose so yeah..but i like to do it..gives me something to do" you answer with a soft laugh. He nods and leans over to fix one of the inspirations microphones his hand presses against your exposed waist for balance. Your breath halts and your body almost stops.
Sure he's hugged you before and gave you some friendly touches that was before you knew how you felt about him. How you felt..for a married man..as a married woman. "How's Priscilla? I haven't seen her in a few days." You ask pulling yourself away from his touch subconsciously as you thought about Priscilla and Oliver.
"Shes good, bit busy watching lisa. How's..uhm..your husband?" He asks looking back at you with a light smile on his lips. "Oliver.. he's good, spending some time in North Dakota with his family. He'll be back in a few weeks." You say looking down and messing with your ring, which didn't go unnoticed.
"Ya missin' him?" He asks a slight frown crossing his features. You nod hesitantly, you didn't miss him. That was the problem, your husband whom you've been married to for a little over 5 years. You didn't miss, not one bit. You actually preferred him to stay in North Dakota. He didn't talk to you much there and you could spend more time around Elvis. Most of that time was spent with Charlie who you got real close with.
"Yeah..i miss cilla' and lisa a whole lot too." He says in a comforting tone. "Yeah its hard being away for so long" you look up at his eyes your breath being pushed out of your lungs as you see how blue they are, and how close they are.
"Yeah" he agrees, his eyes scan over your face stopping at your lips for a moment before you look away your cheeks rosey.
"So..whats..what do you plan on doing after the show?" You ask nervously. You probably just missed your chance to kiss Elvis, but it was definitely for the best.
"Its 'bout time to so i best head back.. ill..talk to ya later y/n" he says before leaving back to the side of the stage. If there's anymore moments like that one. You know this will be hard, you know you won't be able to control yourself the next time it happens.
The only problem was, oliver and Priscilla..

baby i'm yours
fem!reader x tasm peter parker, 1.3k words, light swearing
this is a college au, basically peter and reader are dormmates at new york university. i love peter so pls give me prompts for him <3
Peter was your best friend, and nothing more. That's what you kept having to tell yourself.
But, it was hard to think like that when you got a glimpse of him fresh out of the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist, and hair dripping. Let's face it, he was comparable to a Greek God.
You had been friends with Peter Parker since highschool, and it was a pleasant surprise to find out he had gotten into NYU just like you did. It was automatically settled, you would be roommates.
While you were studying creative writing, Peter was diving into the field of biochemistry. You couldn't seem to comprehend why he was so interested in science until a year ago, when he confessed to you that he was Spider-Man. You had to admit, it wasn't too surprising. He had that Spider-Man air about him.
Mornings in your dorm were nice, especially since you and Peter had breakfast together. You could always tell when he had been out in the city the night before, because he was ravenous.
"Mphm, mowe eggths?" He mumbled through a stuffed mouth. "If you're so hungry you should make them yourself." You giggled to him. He rolled his eyes, those gorgeous brown eyes. You stood up, wanting to start getting ready for your day. Peter's classes started before yours did, so right after breakfast he would always leave, but today was different.
You could feel his eyes on your body as you filled your glass up with water. A tank top and sweatpants was normal apparel for you, so it was hard to tell what was different about now. "Are you checking me out, Peter?" You threw your head back around to look at him, and his heart visibly stopped. "No! No, no. I would never do that, ew." He choked out. You cocked your eyebrow at him, and his eyes widened. "Oh you know I didn't mean it like that, you're cute, Y/N." His face was about as red as the apple he was biting into. You laughed as you retreated into your bedroom.
When you were finished getting ready, you left your bedroom to find Peter still sitting at the table. "You're still here?" You asked, sitting back down next to him. "Well yea, I just didn't wanna leave without saying a real goodbye to you." He wasn't making eye contact, which only happened when he was nervous. "Oh, well you're not planning on dying today, right?" You asked, laughing slightly. He chuckled back. "Yea, no. Just feel weird leaving without seeing you again." You admired his face, and watched a flush up his neck.
"Peter, you like me, don't you?" You were joking, he should have known that, but his mind was obviously not registering the way you had spoken when he blurted out: "Is it that obvious??". You froze, processing the words that had just left his mouth.
Peter slapped his hands over his mouth, not realizing you had been messing with him. "Oh fuck." Was all he mumbled as he stood up from the table, grabbing his backpack.
"No, Peter, wait!" You said, standing as well. You reached for his hand, and he quickly pulled away from you, a traumatized expression plastered across his face. "I am so, so, incredibly sorry, Y/N." He spluttered as he pulled his shoes on. As soon as he had finished speaking, he was rushing out of your dorm, slamming the door behind him.
You sat back down at the table, for fear you would faint if you continued standing. Your face was burning, and you were having trouble breathing. "Oh my God..." you mumbled, nervously twisting your hair. Standing up again, you noticed Peter's lunchbox still sitting on the kitchen counter. That gave you an idea.
You had liked him for almost 3 years. Even in highschool, where he was continuously bullied, he always managed to put a smile on your face. He was a "loser", sure, but that never stopped you from hanging out with him. He was a great guy. You thought of the time you skipped school with him all because he wanted to teach you how to skateboard.
On that day, you had sworn he was going to kiss you. He held your body close to his, trying to keep the two of you balanced on his skateboard. You had felt his heart beating rapidly, and wondered if he was as flustered as you were.
But none of that mattered now, because your relationship with Peter could be ruined after his little slip-up.
You grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil, and began to furiously write. If speaking face-to-face with Peter would be too much for him, a letter would be the second best option.
Dear Peter,
Definitely didn't expect this morning to consist of you confessing your feelings to me, but that's alright, because I feel the same way. I have since we were 16.
I've tried for a while to deny it, but now that you've come clean, it's only fair for me to do the same. I love you, Peter. You are my favorite person, and I don't want this morning to change anything with us. If it does change, then I hope it's for the better, not the worse.
That's all, I don't want to scare you away.
Love,
Y/N
Your hands were shaking as you folded the letter in half and tucked it into Peter's lunchbox. Now all that was left was to get it to him.
You walked as fast as you could, not caring that people were yelling obscenities when you shoved past them. You had to get to Peter before his class started. Looking at your phone, you saw you had 5 minutes left. Shit.
You began to run, desperate to arrive in time. You threw the double doors to the building open, and ran in the direction of Peter's chemical analysis class. People were staring, because you definitely did not look like you were ready to divide cells in a lab.
You reached the classroom, and stopped to catch your breath. You took out your phone again. 2 minutes until the bell rang. You grinned as you pushed the door open slowly. Then you saw him.
He was sitting at a desk, staring at the board with glazed-over eyes. He was the most beautiful boy you had ever seen, and you giggled as you pictured a future with him. You walked over to him, taking deep breaths.
"Ahem..." You cleared your throat as you placed his lunch on his desk. Peter jumped, and went ghost white as he made eye contact with you. "Y/N, what are you-" He began. "Shut up. Don't say anything until you look in your lunchbox." You said as you turned on your heel and left. Peter was confused. Very confused.
As soon as you were out of the classroom, he ripped open his lunchbox, grabbing the sheet of paper you had left inside. He unfolded the letter with shaking hands, and read it carefully. His organs were in his throat. "I love you," He whispered to himself. "Oh my God."
Peter stuffed the letter into his pocket and shot up from his desk, and then he was darting out of the classroom with his things, needing to find you as soon as possible.
You were walking back to your dorm, smiling to yourself, when your racing thoughts were interrupted with a yell. "Y/N! Y/N!" You stopped instantly, and turned around to see Peter barreling towards you. You laughed as he engulfed you in his arms, kissing you all over your forehead.
"Couldn't wait until later, hm?" You giggled, looking up into his eyes. Peter smiled, and shrugged. "I could have, but I didn't want to." He said as he put his arm around your shoulder. AYou walked home together, fingers interlaced, and dreamed of your future together.

There are all kinds of upsides to having friends in high places, but when your connections are limited to the four walls of Wok and Roll Ramen Noodle, the best you’ve got is Hikaru Uehara: an unlikely junior-year friend, the owner’s son, and law student extraordinaire. Apron tied with a clumsy knot behind your back, you slip inside the tiny shop only to meet his sharp eyes across the bar. Oof.
Hikaru frowns. “You’re late again.”
“I know, I know, but I’ve actually got an excuse this time,” you try for a winning smile, peeking at the book he’s currently nose deep in.
“It’s always something with you. Still house hunting?” He slides a bowl of kitsune udon across the bartop, “Number 43, table next to the creepy painting.”
He shoots, he scores! You catch the bowl and head off to the hungry patron.
“You know, my dad finished our basement yesterday and we’ve got an empty room now. I told him I’d ask you.”
“Because you’re offering it free of rent, right?”
A not-at-all-subtle grin pulls at the corner of his mouth. “What about an employee discount?”
“In your dreams, Uehara.”
43 asks for an extra pair of chopsticks, which you gladly deposit before taking the barstool opposite the shopkeeper’s son. It turns out he’s reading one of his textbooks for law class. Perfect. You roll up your sleeves and bust out your CEO face again.
Here goes nothing. “I kind of got myself into a mess.”
“I don’t want to hear about the thing with your fern and the toilet again.”
“What? No, ew,” you wave all associated memories of that away, “no, seriously. I found a place, but I’m kind of…stuck in it. I need you go all Elle Woods and help me because I got scammed.” And also broken into, but you mentally plead the fifth and avoid self-incriminating yourself. “The lease is forcing me and this other guy to share the place and neither of us know how to get out.”
That gets his attention; Hikaru puts down his textbook. “Okay, maybe you do have an excuse this time. What the hell?”
The Sparknotes version is that you and Leon both filed for the same apartment within half an hour of each other.
Number 44: cold soba.
Your landlady’s as good as fled the country. Leon can’t reach his either. Hikaru sucks his teeth.
Number 45: miso soup.
You’ve both agreed to share the apartment for the three months of the lease considering the mini fortune of money blown on the deal.
“$6000? Really?” he gasps. “You do know how much this job pays you, right?”
“Then pay me more!” you shoot back, multitasking refills while balancing a full tray.
45 again: miso soup on the house. Hikaru hands you a mop for your spill as you glare, but pulls out his laptop all the same.
“Well, if you’re fine with sharing the apartment for two more months…” he hums, typing away and whistling in approval as he finds your apartment listing, “your place isn’t bad at all considering the price. Plus, you can’t request to move back in just like that if we lodge a complaint and you win. What if this Leon turns out to be an alright roommate?”
His question irks you a little. Why would you want the apartment back with a weirdly cagey roommate who shotguns (emphasis on gun) the master bedroom? You’ve got reason enough to want a place of your own after the shitshow that was college last year. You wonder if you should lay out all Leon’s teen boy-esque rules about not touching his things, but Hikaru shakes his head the minute you open your mouth.
“I know it’s not what you want to hear, but maybe the best course of action is to wait the storm out.”
He sounds sincere for once, turning the laptop screen around to show you a 37-page long document with your building’s name embellishing the top. His fingers just keep scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling, and dear God.
"That's the complaint form?" Your shriek rattles 45’s bowl worryingly.
“The first half, yes. Should I email you the second?”
Number 46 has the nerve to comment on your face looking more blanched than her bok choy.
That evening, you close the Wok and Roll with a heavy heart. Your phone pings as you double check the locks.
[Hikaru]: srsly ur best waiting out ur contract
Well damn, Hikaru. Friend of the year.
[Hikaru]: but since u asked (and rescued that last order)
[Hikaru]: i’ll still look for ways to get u out of there and on ur own
[Hikaru]: after finals tho
[Hikaru]: and once u start coming in on time!!
You pump your fist with a self-indulgent whoop outside the restaurant doors. Hikaru might be a pain to deal with sometimes, but he really did come through when he wanted to. Consider your now-thriving toilet fern that he put together a pot for, and soon with a little bit of luck, your eventual solo apartment life.
You eagerly text back a thank you. Not even the winter air buffeting your face could put a damper on your mood as you skip back home to your apartment, and consequently, to Leon.
Or at least you thought you were. The apartment is lovely and warm and quiet when you unlock the front door.
“Hello?” You call out for him, looping your scarf onto the wall hook.
No response.
Leon’s bedroom door’s cracked open though, and the light looks off. It’s only 7 PM. Did he tell you he was going out? Crap, you realize how ill-prepared you’d been to not get his number or anything before you left. Rookie mistake. This roommate business is harder than you remember.
You toe off your boots and tiptoe toward the master bedroom.
No messing in each other’s rooms, Leon’s phantom voice prods at the back of your head, but your concern for his wellbeing — okay fine, maybe you just want to peek at his stuff that’s so damn secret — takes over as you push his door open and slip into the darkness that’s making it impossible to see.
So you flick on the nearby lamp.
And then you scream. “What are you doing?”
Tucked in bed as snug as a bug and fully dressed, complete with shearling jacket, is Leon Kennedy with his face dirtied to high heaven. He blinks crossly as the lamp flickers to life.
“Huh?” His voice is gruff with sleep.
“You’re sleeping…like that?”
He looks down as if registering himself for the first time. “I’m…yeah. Tired.”
“What happened to your face?” you ask, sounding reedy. “It’s filthy.”
“It is?”
You nod sharply.
“Oh? Oh yeah, yeah, I was cleaning the chimney.”
“We don’t have a chimney. Leon, we don’t even have a fireplace.”
He fumbles out of his covers at your bug-eyed look. His room is absolutely freezing. “I have an explanation, I swear,” he starts as you back into the living room. Leon looks even grimier in the light: soot dusts his shoulders like powdered sugar, ages his hair salt-and-pepper, bruises the knees of his jeans. “Last night, I couldn’t sleep. There was something wrong with the heating so I went to check.”
Your room is perfectly warm. The house is perfectly warm.
He nods. “That’s cause I fixed the rest of the apartment, my room’s sti-” And then stops, narrowing his eyes. Whatever Leon did to fix the heating couldn’t have kept the temperature from dropping several degrees as he hisses, “You came into my room. We had a deal.”
“I had no idea you were even home!”
“Doesn’t negate the fact that you broke the rule.”
Everything flips in a second; he’s glaring daggers, and the entire situation is so petulantly infuriating that you take his bait. The snow from your coat is making a melted mess on the carpet. Leon’s still in his stupid dirty jacket. The living room is half-unpacked from moving in literally the day before, and you’re already having your first argument with your roommate over stepping three feet into his bedroom.
“What is so goddamn important about the stuff in your room?” you finally explode.
“You don’t get it.”
“Leon,” you sound embarrassingly close to pleading now, “you wanted this – this whole sharing thing – but now you’re not giving me a chance?” You let your arms fall to your sides.
Hikaru wanted to know if you could last three months. But as Leon stares at you, jaw working like he’s having a one-man argument inside his mouth, you wonder how you’ll tell your friend you couldn’t even last three nights. Frustrated tears prick at your eyes. You’ve never been good on the debate team back in high school. How long is it going to take for Leon to snap at you for that too?
“It’s not you,” he says softly.
You smother a sniffle with your coat sleeve, making him sigh.
“It’s not you,” he repeats, shaking his head to himself, “God, Hunnigan, you’re never this sloppy…” Shucking off his coat, he drops it on a box labeled Seasonal Decor #2 before heading back inside his room. He appears moments later with a box of tissues. “Take one before I get them covered in coal, yeah?”
As you hesitatingly accept, you take in his form sans jacket. Leon is – alarmingly built, for one – covered in scratches. Bruises. Real ones. Fresh.
They’re littered along his muscled forearms, right up to the tops of his fitted black shirt sleeves. He’s so close to you that you even notice a silvery scar topping his right cheekbone.
“Are youokay?”
Mystery swirls around your roommate like the soot he’s covered in. You ball up the tissue in your hand as his brow gradually smooths out, anger dissipating.
“It’s my job,” Leon reveals. “Everything, this apartment, the stuff I’m keeping in my room, I…I work for the government, okay? This apartment was supposed to be home base for me. There’s stuff in there I can’t have anyone messing with. Stuff that could hurt you.” He pulls out a gleaming badge and lets you inspect it as your hand slowly flies over your mouth. “See?”
The gun in his pocket. The phone call.
“But you’re not going to hurt me…right?” you dare to ask.
Leon’s eyes go wide, blond head shaking swiftly. “Never, I swear. Trying to do the opposite, actually, but that’s not going too great right now. I’m here to stop somebody from getting their hands on something that could hurt a lot of people.”
It’s a little surreal. Your once-burglar roommate turned government agent blinks at you like you’ll turn any moment, like you’re about to scream and run for the hills, so he can’t help but flinch as you reach for another tissue and whisper, “Can I?”
“Can you what? I can’t let you look at my things, again, I-” Leon tilts his head as you wrap the tissue around your index and middle fingers, and then rifle through the Seasonal Decor #2 box. “What are you doing?”
“Got it!”
You turn around, revealing a modest first aid kit in your hands.
“You keep that with your Christmas decorations?” He lets out a short laugh.
“I drop a lot of ornaments. Should really invest in plastic ones.” Fishing out a small bottle of ointment for Leon to see, you shoot him a redeeming grin. “So can I?”
He smiles. “You may,” Leon concedes, allowing you to settle him on the couch.
Leon’s bedroom seems to drop in temperature as the evening blends into night, falling to a bewildering 38 degrees while the rest of the apartment remains toasty. Ice might be frosting his windows, but thankfully, it only melts between you and Leon as you dab ointment into his cuts and he entertains you with sanitized anecdotes from his work around the world. The living room clock ticks to 10 o’clock as you two share the next best thing to dinner: a stash of rice crackers swiped from the back of the Wok and Roll.
“There’s no way you’re sleeping with a jacket on.” You jut your chin towards his room, hissing in sympathy as he jerks from the alcohol sting. “It’s just as bad as sleeping outside in the snow.”
“I’ll sleep on the couch,” Leon munches. He holds out a cracker for you to bite, an oddly intimate gesture that he doesn’t seem to put as much thought into as you, “it’s plenty warm out here.”
“And have you spend the night on a lumpy sofa with a million bruises on your back? That’d be evil, Leon.”
He shrugs. “I’ve slept through worse.”
“Yeah, because you were probably halfway across the world in some random jungle!”
“It was just the one mission, come on,” he protests, his eyes sparkling with mirth. “I’ll be fine, I promise.”
You shake your head. The tail end of his bandage tucks neatly under his arm as you finish patching him up. It’s been an eventful night, and with each genuine laugh you share with Leon, the more you feel like extending an olive branch for everything that’s happened so far. You even feel a little bad for the Lena thing.
“Sleep in my room for the night. Take the bed,” you suggest.
“It wouldn’t be very chivalrous of me.”
“And calling dibs on the master bedroom was?”
“I needed space for my equipment!”
You lift an unimpressed brow.
“Touché.” Leon gives in, chuckling.
So it’s settled. You pull out a mass of blankets from a box next to the fridge (Winter Camp Sophomore Year EMERGENCY SUPPLIES) which Leon insists on expertly fashioning into a nest beside your bed. It’s piled high with pillows from his own bed by the time you come back from brushing your teeth.
“It makes me feel better about this whole thing,” he admits when you laugh at it.
It’s either him or his pillows that make you feel warmer sleeping on the floor than you did in your bed last night. Leon's unexpected warmth might be your Christmas miracle to make up for this apartment fiasco. The stars twinkle outside your bedroom window as you drift off to sleep.
Deep in your dreams, you miss the twinkle of something else too.
A ping to be specific.

“I’m almost finished, shut up,” Bonnie snaps at the brooding man beside her.
Damon puts his hands up, “jeez.”
“He’s in Georgia. At this location,” she points to the site on the map.
“What’s he doing there?”
“It’s your brother, you tell me.”
“It’s not like I control him!”
“Ah,” a voice interrupts their arguing, “the two of you, still bickering. Just like in the old days of 1994.”
“Shut up, Kai,” Damon orders the younger man.
“Harsh words! I’m hurt.” He grabs his chest as if he were stabbed.
“You’re fine.”
The siphon clicks his tongue, “so when are we leaving?”
“We? You’re not going anywhere.”
“Oh come on! I helped,” he gestures vaguely, “with the spell.”
“Suggesting a locator spell is not helping. But regardless, your help or lack thereof is not why you’re not coming. You’re dangerous; you can’t be trusted. You’re staying here. Y/N, you’re watching him.”
“What?” Bonnie whips to face Damon before you can even comment. “He cannot be alone with her, he’ll kill her! How do you think Elena will feel when she finds out you let the psychopath murder her cousin?”
“Please, she’ll be fine! She can handle her own.”
“Kai is a psychopath! Whether or not she can handle her own means nothing when you have a psychotic witch against a mere human!”
“Only slightly offended,” you mutter. Then louder, “I’ll be fine, trust me. Kai’s a sociopath, not a psychopath.”
“And that means what exactly? That he’s not capable of killing you?”
“No, I’m just saying… I don’t know… I trust him. Sociopaths at least have the capability to feel emotions, they’re just buried, or reserved for certain people. Psychopaths are the ones that scare me.”
Both are obviously baffled from your statement. Though as soon as Bonnie gets over it, she yells, “you trust him?! Are you crazy?”
Kai borrows your words, “only slightly offended.” It makes you chuckle. “Just a reminder - I’m right here.”
“And?”
“And, Bonnie, no. She’s not crazy. She can think for herself, y’know? And she’s right - I’m not going to hurt her.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Then don’t. You’re not the one being told to babysit me.”
“Damon, we cannot leave her with him!” She turns back to the man.
“Well we’re running out of options. We could go with my original plan and leave these two here, go retrieve Stefan, and return. Or, we could bring them with us. Listen to Kai talk non-stop all the way to Georgia, grab Stefan, squeeze all three in the back of my camaro, and drive all the way back, with Kai still yammering. Does that sound fun to you?”
“Better than letting Y/N die at the jam-covered hands of him.”
You roll your eyes, “Bonnie, I’ll be fine. I promise. You two need to go get Stefan before he attacks someone else, and Georgia’s a long drive. Kai and I will be fine, and if not, there’s plenty of people I can call for help. Not only that, plenty of places I can hide in this massive house.”
“Just not under the bed,” Kai smirks, “I’ll find you there.”
You stifle a laugh as you meet Bonnie’s eyes.
Kai notices her expression, too, and coughs, “just a joke. Very bad joke.”
“No more jokes.”
Seeing the fire in his friend’s eyes, Damon chooses the next moment to interrupt. “You’re right, Georgia’s a long drive. Kai, no leaving the house. Y/N, watch him carefully. No killing, no threatening, no nothing. Call Rick if you need anything-”
“Ew,” you cut him off.
“Alright. Call, I don’t know, Jeremy then. What’s wrong with Rick?”
“Weird, just weird. Might be the beard. Might be the…”
“Spit it out, Y/N.”
“Nah.”
Bonnie gives you a glare.
“Fine, I’ll call him. But I’ll be fine. We’ll be fine. Right, Kai?”
“Mhm.”
“See?”
“Whatever. Just be careful.”
◇◇◇◇
Twenty minutes later, they’re finally out the door.
“Finally!” You collapse on the couch, “peace and quiet!”
Kai takes the chair across from you, then watches as you get comfortable.
“Want to watch something?”
“I am.”
“No, you goof. I mean on the TV,” you roll your eyes playfully at his comment.
“Like what?”
“I don’t know? Let’s see if there’s Netflix on here.”
“What’s a Netflix?”
“You’ll see.”
After a bit of scrolling - the brothers did, in fact, have Netflix downloaded - your eyes light up at one show in particular.
“Oh this is a fun one.”
“American Horror Story?”
“Mhm! Murder. Mayhem. It’s a masterpiece.”
“You’re into that sorta thing?”
You look at him, “why? Do I not look like it to you?”
“I don’t know, you just seem so sweet and innocent.”
“Oh, Kai Parker,” you coo at him, “that’s the thing about girls. Even the sweetest ones have a dark streak in there somewhere.”
His eyes stay focused on you, nearly black and unblinking, but it’s hard to miss the lump in his throat.
“So you want to watch it?”
“You’ve got me intrigued. Now I’ve got to see it.”
You can’t help but giggle in excitement as you press start on the first episode. “They don’t have to be watched in order, but season one is a classic. Wait til you meet the love of my life, Tate Langdon.”
“Who’s Tate?”
“Oh, just my favorite sociopath,” you wink at him. “Aside from you, of course.”
His cheeks flush, but he tries to hide it with a cough.
“It’s starting. Meet,” you spread your hands out as an introduction, “the twins, that I honestly forgot opened the show. And I don’t know their names.”
Kai chuckles, smiling at you before turning his eyes to the TV.
Only half of your attention is on the show, as the other half watches for the witch’s reactions. You notice a small grin when the twin - Brad? - gets sucked into the basement’s abyss. The expression should scare you, but you find yourself more entertained than anything else. His face changes, however, when Ben’s caught cheating on his wife. Kai’s eyes darken and jaw tenses. The smile returns when Vivian cuts the man’s arm in a fury, making you giggle.
“He deserved that,” Kai justifies.
“Oh definitely.”
“I don’t know that much about… like, love, and all that, but you should never cheat on someone you love.”
Ignoring the butterflies in your stomach, you smile, “okay, Tate.”
He cocks his head at you.
“You just nearly quoted him verbatim. Couldn’t help it. You’re right, though.”
You guys continue to watch.
Eventually, the scene fades into the introduction. You can’t help but stick your tongue out at it, and don’t miss Kai muttering, “ew. That’s a little creepy, all those dolls and jars.” He grimaces.
“Sometimes the intros are scarier than the actual show.”
“How many seasons are there?”
“Four, but I bet there’ll be more.”
“Good. Ten minutes in and I’m hooked.”
“Season 3 is called Coven. But I really want you to meet Tate.”
“Coven? Is it anything like mine?”
“Well, let’s see from what you told me about yours... Shitty leaders - check. Awful parents - check. Stupid traditions - check. Yeah, similar.”
“Wait… you believe me? About my parents?”
“Of course,” you say without hesitation, “I mean, they locked you away for god’s sake. Of course I believe how they treated you. Why it made you snap.” Your tone quiets at the end, afraid to hit a nerve. Kai, however, doesn’t seem bothered by the mention of his crimes. He’s too focused on someone actually believing him; someone listening.
The two of you stare at each other for a moment before he remembers to respond. “Thank you. For believing me.”
“All the evidence is stacked against your father. And if we’re being honest, dads are usually the cause of trauma, in my personal opinion. I mean, just look at my childhood. Hey, look at Ben Harmon,” you gesture to the TV, “every shitty thing is his fault. Or, maybe I’m projecting. Either way, he sucks.”
Kai laughs.
“Regardless, yes, I believe you, Kai. You’re not alone in your feelings. And like I told Bonnie, I do trust you.”
He’s quiet for a second, “it means a lot.”
You nod.
“Back to the show now?”
“Sure.”
You push the back button a few times to where you guys were before your mini conversation. For a second as it starts to play, you keep your eyes on him. His lips form a small smile. Fingers are still, resting on the armchair. His posture, though…
“Hey, Kai?”
“Hm?”
“Are you comfy?”
“Enough, yeah, why?”
“Come here, sit with me.” You sit up to pat the pillow where your head had just been. “Don’t hurt your neck looking up like that.”
“Are you sure?”
“‘Course. I don’t bite.”
The witch chuckles as you move the pillow for him to sit beside you. He sinks into the couch and gives you a smile that reawakens the butterflies in your stomach.
“Better?”
“Mhm, thank you.”
“Is it okay if I touch you?”
“What, why?” The question catches him off guard.
“It’s okay to say no, I just wanted to ask in case I lean into you by accident. Don’t want to startle you, or cross a line.”
“No, um, wait. It’s okay.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, you’re okay.”
Sensing his hesitation, you take slow movements to get back into your comfortable position. Soon, your shoulders touch gently, causing him to flinch a little.
“I’m okay still. I wasn’t… expecting it. I mean, I know you told me, but I wasn’t allowed to… I, uh, I’ve been isolated a lot of my life.” He debated his words carefully before settling on the explanation. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize, sweet. It’s not your fault. I’m guessing your father’s responsible for that, too?”
Kai nods slowly. “As a siphon, who didn’t know how to control their power, any form of contact would harm the other person. If I was allowed out of my room, I had to wear gloves, but even then, wasn’t allowed to touch anyone. Then I was in the prison world for eighteen years, alone.”
Hearing another bit of his past makes your heart break. Neither Damon nor Bonnie have told you much about him, except for a few antics from the prison world. They call him dangerous, but haven’t even told you his side of the story. As you learn more about him, everything in you wants to reach out and give him a tight hug, but you refrain from doing that to not startle him.
He acknowledges your silence, “is this the part where you run?”
You snap out of your thoughts, “no, Kai. No, I’m not going to run. I’m sorry, I was just thinking. How awful of a man to treat his son that way.” Suddenly, you turn your body so you can look him in the eye. “You’re safe with me, Kai. Okay? Ever need to talk, ever need a hug. I’m here.”
“Okay. Um, thank you.”
“So… you okay if I…” you slowly get closer to him until your shoulders are touching again. “This too much?”
“No, you’re okay. Feels nice, actually.”
“Tell me if you need me to move.”
He nods, then pushes play on the remote.
A deep focus takes over to the both of you as the show continues. At some point, Kai’s hand begins to absentmindedly trail along your arm - a gesture you don’t notice until you feel a chill throughout your body. He feels it too, and immediately retracts his hand.
“It’s okay. I like it.”
Kai doesn’t say anything, but to your delight, puts his hand back on your arm. You stay like that throughout the episode, too relaxed to recognize the heaviness in your eyes as sleep soon consumes your body.
◇◇◇◇
Sometime later, your eyes flutter open, making you confused. There’s no sound, not even the TV, but it’s a comfortable silence, not one that feels threatening. Slowly, you wake up more fully and are able to better take in your senses. You’re still on the couch, but laying on your back. Your head is on something soft, but not pillow-soft. A hand runs along your arm - just as it was before you fell asleep… Kai. Where’s Kai?
You try to ask for his name, but in your state, all that comes out is a whine.
Nonetheless, he answers. “Hey, are you awake?”
“Kai?”
“Yeah, it’s me. Did you sleep well?”
“Yeah, but when did I fall asleep? Where are you?”
Eventually you’re able to pull your body up so that you’re sitting, not laying, on the couch.
“I’m right here,” he waves to you as you reposition.
“Did I fall asleep on your lap?” The realization hits you, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to-”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. No worries, I, uh, kinda liked the contact. Like I said, I kinda lacked that for a while.”
“I know, but I would’ve asked first.”
“Technically, you did. And you can’t control being tired, it’s fine. Trust me, I don’t mind being your pillow.”
A blush creeps onto your cheeks.
“In fact, I wouldn’t argue if you wanted to lay back down, because now I’m missing it.”
That’s all the convincing you need to reassume your position in his lap. Though this time, you move your head so you’re looking up at him. “Hey, Kai?”
“Mhm?”
“I’m happy you trust me enough to be this close. I like it, too. And I like being someone you are comfortable around.”
“Me too, Y/N. Oh, and hey, I paused the tv about an hour ago because I wanted to watch it with you but you were asleep. But we’re some way through episode two.”
“I slept that long?”
“Yeah, but it’s okay. I’ve been on Twitter, so I haven’t been completely bored.”
“Not Tweeting pictures of me sleeping, right?” You joke with a snort.
He snaps his fingers, “aw, I should’ve! Quick, go back to sleep!”
“Hell no! The whole Twitter-World doesn’t need to see my sleeping face! Bad enough you already did!”
“Awh, what are you talking about? You have a cute sleeping face. Twitter would thank you for being able to see it.”
The blush and the butterflies return with that comment. “I-uh-thanks.”
“I’m serious!”
“I, um, uh… do you want to keep watching, or are you bored?”
“I’m down to keep watching if you are.”
“Okay, press the play button.”
“Oh, wait, wait, wait, before we do - I met Tate!”
“Oh, yes! How’d you like him?”
“He’s fun! Highly relatable all the way down to the music taste. I see why you like him.”
“See?! My friends think I’m crazy for it, but he’s such a good character. And the way he absolutely loves Violet - he’d do anything for her! I mean, yeah, he killed a bunch of kids, but I don’t know, maybe if his mother didn’t fucking abuse him, he wouldn’t have snapped the way he did.”
You see Kai’s jaw set out of the corner of your eye. “Sorry, uh, spoiler alert.”
“It’s okay. Do you really blame his mom for that?”
“I mean, yeah. Yes, he was the one to carry out the crimes, but you can only take so much hurt and abuse before you snap. Emotions fizzle out until there’s just a numb feeling, and then… well, I imagine it’s hard to make rational decisions when you feel that way for so long.” A second later, you realize you’ve been ranting. “I’m sorry, I’ve just really studied his character. Done a lot of research, including research on sociopathy, and the long-term effects of childhood abuse. Helps me understand him, and what he felt, and what caused him to snap. Sorry, I’m ranting again, oh jeez!”
“It’s okay,” Kai swallows hard, “I, uh, feels nice to be understood. For Tate, I mean.”
You stiffen. “Kai?”
“Mhm?”
“Did your parents hurt you?”
“I mean, I was isolated for a long time.”
“I know that, but…” you don’t want to say it. Don’t want to open a wound; don’t want to push him past his limits of comfort. But, you need to know. “Did they hurt you?”
A visible lump forms in his throat. “What counts as that? Cause I mean, some parents just toss their hands in the air. Some others hit with shoes, I’ve heard. Jo’s friend actually mentioned one time that they had a wooden spoon reserved for punishments.” He’s deflecting. You can’t blame him; he’s obviously been through a lot.
He rambles on like this until he meets your eyes. Tears welling, threatening to spill. A trembling lip. You know. He knows you know.
“Yeah, sometimes, Dad would. Most of the time he’d use magic, probably just to make a point about me being the abomination that can’t do magic.”
“For what reasons? Like, what did he see as a reason to hurt you?”
“Hmm, like if I talked back, or left my room without permission, or spoke to someone outside of the coven, like a sibling’s friend or neighbor. If he were really angry, like if I siphoned a sibling, he’d get more physical. Let’s just say, there’s probably a reason everyone wore long-sleeves with band tees in the nineties. Cover up those bruises with some devil band your parents hate,” cocking his head, he adds, “which then leads to more bruises but for different reasons.” He then pauses to clear his throat. “Eventually, I learned how to siphon the magic he’d throw at me. For three days, I felt so powerful. He’d hit me with a spell, and I could absorb some of it to fire back at him. But while I got a few good licks in, it mostly just made him angrier. He started getting even more physical, and later, would only include magic once I was down and unable to think up a spell.”
“Kai-”
“And then Mom died, and he only got worse. I mean, Mom and I never had a relationship so I wasn’t particularly affected by her passing. He was, though, and he got more violent towards me. I mean, he was now single-handedly raising eight kids - he had to take his anger out on one of them. Who better than the one you already hate? Anyway, life continued. Dad got more secretive, more dangerous.” Kai actually laughs, “I even feared him a little. I didn’t know if I’d ever escape that stupid bedroom, and even if I did, he’d make my life hell. Not only that, but it felt like he was planning something. And what do you know?! He was. Right before Jo and I’s birthday, the stupid fucking coven planned their monthly meeting in our house. Directly under my bedroom. I heard them through the vent, how they weren’t going to let us merge, and how they were going to wait until Liv and Luke were twenty-two instead. I had my suspicions about this - I knew something was off about the way he was acting - but for him to break coven tradition just to prevent me from merging? Fuck him. Coven always came before family with him, but he’d break the rules because he hated me so much.” Fire dances in his eyes, but he calms down a second later. “And that night is when I snapped. Something took over and I did to my family what my Dad probably wishes he did to me the night I was born. When he came back after whatever the hell the coven had left to do, he found Jo. And from that point on, I think you know how it went.”
Some time through his story, you had sat up to face him, leaving you now right in front of him as tears roll off your cheeks. “Kai…” There’s no words for what he’s just told you. Instead, you reach forward and hug him. Your arms wrap around his waist and you bury your face into his chest. Tears continue to fall, soaking his shirt, making you cry harder. A few moments later, you feel his arms on your back and he pulls you close.
You two stay like that for a couple minutes. It’s nice.
“I don’t want to pull away, but I want to tell you…” he lets you lift your head to face him again. “It feels good to have told someone. Thank you for listening to me, Y/N.”
“I’m glad you told me. I’m so sorry you had to go through that.”
He responds by pulling you back into the hug, “so, yeah… pretty relatable, your favorite sociopath.”
“Mmmm, actually, that title belongs to you,” you lean back so he can catch your wink.
“Honored, Miss Y/N. Should we get back to watching your, ahem, second favorite sociopath?”
“Let’s do it.”
“Pressing playyyy, now,” he drags out the ‘y’. “Oh, and don’t you dare think of letting go.”
You look at your position. Sitting on his lap, your arms around him, his around you. Your head on his chest, and his fingers tracing your back. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”

Daddy’s gonna be real honest with you kittens.
I’m disappointed with current Venom Run. Let me be real CLEAR here. I don’t hate it. I don’t have beef with its creator. So for a long period of time I was telling everyone “it’s a mess, but it’s better that Donnie Cates”.
But I think comparing them is not correct and let me explain why.
So Donnie Cates. Our boy. Extra edgy, made some terrifically BAD retcons, hated symbrock, tried to make Eddie Brock as trad as possible (giving him human son and all). Plus he ignored the fact that Sleeper was a child of Venom and Eddie. “nOt BioLoGiCalLy” Eddie’s but he called Eddie “father” and they both deeply cared about each other. So Donnie Cates couldn’t allow this either.
But! Donnie Cates while fighting the yaoi made the story ironically even more gayer. It was a train wreck but at the end of the day at least it was fun to laugh at this “closeted shipper” as I like to call him.
And most importantly? At the end they were still “Venom family”. All 4 of them. In Donnie Cates comics.
Now Al Ewing and Ram V… It was… ok. I like Dylan, I like Venom, I like Sleeper. I didn’t like that they “killed” Eddie right at the start of the story and sent him running solo trough time traveling shenanigans. I liked him interacting with Doctor Doom. I liked Meridus being gay with Kang and with that one old man.
But what I lacked is interactions between Venom and Eddie. They almost didn’t interact.
But like, okay. Let Eddie do his thing, let Venom singlemom it out. Also did I mention Ewing and V made Dylan Venom’s son? That was NICE. That’s I liked. A LOT.
And immideatly got my hops up.
Which was a mistake.
So the problem is where Donnie was closeted shipper, I’m starting to believe that Ewing and V don’t actually see Venom and Eddie as a romantic partnership. Or even all that important partnership.
If you check Spider Man Venom War comics, Venom talks A LOT about how much “Saint Peter”(Parker) means to him. It’s very gay very romantic very deep. But at the next pages it also downgraded Eddie role in Venoms life?? Venom is like “so yeah Peter taught me to save lives so I saved Eddie from offfing himself”. And that’s almost it. No emphasis on their bond, on Eddie’s feelings, of their bond. Almost nothing, really.
And now it’s Venom War and Venom says “wow Peter and I are sooo perfect, also it feels nice punching Eddie in the face”.
So what. Venom hates Eddie now? After all those years of forgiveness?? And it wasn’t elaborated in the slightest??
I would hate it but I WOULD understand if they wanted to make Parker new host for Venom for a while. But they don’t?? Apparently Al Ewing planing to give Venom new host (all of the candidates SUCK for the role btw). And if I understood one of his interviews correctly he want to send all the characters their separate ways.
Here’s the statement
Tumblr media
Which annoyed me. A LOT. Like i understand that cis hetero males bring all the money to Marvel. We little faggots don’t bring so much cash. So our feelings and wants are not important. But isn’t there big ass FANDOM for symbrock? People who advertise comics for free with their art and activities?? Are we not important whatsoever? And on top of that wasn’t EVERYONE celebrating when Eddie got Venom back (in 2016)?? Don’t we all love homoerotic weird ass bond these two have??
And what does it even mean “yeah it’s been a while since Eddie and Venom have been together”. It wasn’t. Donnie Cates first made Venom into amnesiac DOG, then sent him into exile and then kept him and Eddie from having meaningful interaction until the very end of his run. Everyone who loves symbrock were STARVING.
And Al Ewing and Ram V story separated Eddie into his own story line.
And now Al Ewing tilling us “yeah it’s been too long, it’s time to move on”.
It’s like giving starving person a cup of water and saying “well now you are fed, let’s go on a 20km hike”.
“My work here is done” Tuxedo Mask meme
So like… yeah.
If they’ll make Sleeper a traitor this will be so bad. This will drop from 6/10 to 0/10 immediately.
Not looking forward to Venom future.
And the WORST part? I feel like they are pulling out “this relationship is toxic so it’s cancelled” card on symbrock. They never do that on hetero ships, but they happily destroy gay ships with that argument.
It sucks.
I hope I’m wrong. But like Venom gets new host this December. There’s not much room left to give us decent amount of Symbrock IF writers even want that.

Class could not go by any slower than it is now. It feels like you have been in here for hours even though it’s only been thirty minutes. Math is your favorite subject because you excel in it, so you’re confident to raise your hand when the teacher asks a question.
“Yes, Y/N?”
You open your mouth to answer when you hear someone chime in from behind you. Pete fucking Parker. The bane of your existence. The boy who makes your blood boil. The boy who thinks he’s too smart to be there.
“Fifty-three?” Peter answers like the teacher called on him or something.
“Thank you, Y/N,” the teacher says and turns around to write on the whiteboard.
You look behind you at Peter with a glare. He always has to chime in and give the right answer even though you know it. It’s like he wants to prove how smart he is with his stupid crooked smile, his bright eyes, and his shy exterior. He’s doing this on purpose. He has to be.
“Alright, kids, it’s time for a pop quiz. You know the drill. Turn in your test at the front and wait for the bell to dismiss you.”
The teacher passes out a pop quiz for all the students to take, so you turn around and focus on your test.  Your teacher likes to give pop quizzes every Thursday, so is it really a pop quiz if everyone knows it’s coming? You scribble your name on it and start with question number one. You circle the right answer, going down the line until you get to the next page. You think you’re going at a good pace until you hear a chair screech signaling someone is getting up.
It better not be him. I swear to God if it is… Peter walks by your desk and places his finished test in the bin where the teacher wants it. You gasp silently at the thought of him being done only minutes after receiving the test. Sure, the test is easy and everyone passes them, but he can’t be done that quickly… can he? Peter catches your eyes with a smirk when he walks by you, and you roll your own out of annoyance. You’re not so annoyed at him being smart. You’re annoyed at the fact that Peter used to be so different before. You’re annoyed because you can’t figure it out.
After class is over, you head to the lunch room to meet our best friend, Amy. She is already at a table reserving your seat next to her. You grab the lunch special of the day and make your way over to her with a not-so-happy smile on your face.
“It’s Peter again, isn’t it?”
“He finished the pop quiz in minutes!” She shakes her head and stabs her salad with her fork. “Amy, you should have seen how cocky he looked. God, I wanna wring his neck.”
“Have you ever asked yourself why he gets on your nerves like that?”
“Yeah, because he’s fucking annoying, that’s why.”
Peter walks in after grabbing his lunch from his locker and meets up with his best friend. You forgot his name. They talk all the time but you’re not really interested in his friend. Peter is stuck inside your mind as you try to figure out what’s different about him. Your eyes are locked on him, studying his every move, trying to figure out his next step. He looks the same. He talks the same. He has the same friend. Yet there is something different about him, something more dangerous.
“You’re doing it again,” Amy nudges you.
“Something is up with Peter.  Something is different. He’s different.”
“Stop stalking your crush and eat your food.”
“Ew, he’s not my crush.”
“Mmhmm.”
You grab a carrot stick to munch on while keeping an eye on Peter. He walks with his friend to the table they want to sit at, trays of food in their hands. Flash is at one of the tables joking with his friends when he sticks his foot out to trip Peter, expecting his food to go flying everywhere. What no one expected is Peter to catch every fucking item back onto his tray like it never left it at all. The angrier you get, the more you gnaw on your carrot stick. Peter used to be so clumsy but it’s like he got an upgrade, and you need to know how he did it.
“You’re telling me you’re not the least bit curious as to why Peter got what looks like powers?”
“Not really,” Amy shrugs and keeps eating.
After lunch, you two make your way to your lockers which just so happen to be next to each other. You might have bribed your way into getting a locker next to hers but it’s worth it. You two can gossip in secret without anyone hearing.
“Do you think there will be a flower in there today?”
“Probably like there has been for the past week.”
You put your code into the lock and open your locker, staring at the beautiful single flower resting against your textbooks. Every day for the past week, a single flower has been left in your locker by someone anonymous. It’s always been a different flower that has not yet been repeated. There is no note, no indication of who put it there, or why. Yesterday, there was a pink rose and today it’s a purple carnation.
“I think it’s romantic. Someone has a crush on you,” Amy grins.
“What do I do? I have to find out who is doing this.”
“Well, when did it start?”
“Last week on Monday.”
“Isn’t that when the new flower shop opened in town?”
“Yeah.”
“Stalk that place. Whoever is getting you flowers has to be getting them from somewhere, and my bet is it’s from that place. See who stops by there after school, see what they buy, and if that flower shows up tomorrow, you have your answer.”
“This is why I keep you around. You’re the smart one.”
“Street smart. You’re book smart.” The bell rings to signal the next period, and she slams her locker closed. “I gotta go. Tell me how it goes!”
The rest of the day goes by without a hitch, probably because you don’t have another class with Peter. If you had, you’d be spending all your time obsessing over him. God, you sound like a desperate girl. You’re not. You’re just obsessed with finding out what’s different about him. Why hasn’t anyone else noticed this about Peter?
As soon as the final bell rings, you rush out of school like a bat out of hell. You want to get to the shop before the other students have a chance to leave, If you’re going to find out who is doing this, then you have to be the first one there. As if the universe is on your side, you’re the first one inside the flower shop. No one else is browsing which means it’s the perfect time to find a hiding spot.
“Hi! Welcome in! Do you need help finding something?”
You look up and see the friendly female cashier.
“No, thank you. I’m just looking.”
“Let me know if you need anything.”
“Will do!”
You walk around the flower shop and admire the different kinds of flowers as you wait for someone to walk in. A few people come in over the next two hours but no one young enough to be in high school. You’re about to give up when the bell on top of the door rings to signal someone walked in. You look between two flowers and see none other than Peter Parker. You quickly hide in hopes he didn’t see you, and by the looks of it, he didn’t.
“Hey, Peter!” the cashier greets.
“Sandra. How are you?”
“Good! Are you here for another flower?”
“Yeah. Something different. Something I haven’t used before.”
“I saved a good bunch for you.” She walks to the back and retrieves a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Instead of handing him the whole thing, she takes a single flower from the bunch and hands it over to him. He takes out his wallet to pay but she waves him off. “It’s on the house.”
“Are you sure? I’d like to pay some time.”
“You can when you get the girl. Did she find your other flower?”
“Yeah,” Peter nods shyly.
“Are you ever going to ask her out?”
“I don’t know. I think she hates me.”
“Well, after she sees this flower, she won’t,” she winks.
Peter takes the yellow flower and leaves the store. If you don’t get home now, your parents will be mad. You sneak out of the shop and run all the way home, excited to see what kind of flower you’re going to find in your locker tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, the first thing you do is go straight to your locker. Amy is already by hers, putting her books into it and grabbing the one she needs for her first class.
“Hey, did you stake out the flower shop?”
“Yeah. Peter walked in and got a yellow orchid. A single flower. He and the cashier talked as if they had known each other for years.”
You open your locker and gasp when you see a yellow orchid sitting at the bottom of your locker. You grab it with delicate fingers and admire the bright color against your skin. Peter thinks you hate him. You don’t. Peter and his friend round the corner and head in the direction where you and Amy are. Maybe you can get over your obsession with finding out why he’s different and just enjoy his company. Peter looks up and sees you with the yellow flower he picked out yesterday with a huge smile on your face. You wait until he passes by you to say what you have to say.
“This is my favorite flower. I really like it.”
You don’t have to look at him directly to see the smile that comes onto his face. Different or not, Peter is still as cheesy as he was when you first met him.

do you write for poly!matt & trey with reader? what about some smoke sesh hc’s?
YES?? OMG TY FOR REQUESTING THIS
smoking w/ matt and trey hc’s
matt stone x reader x trey parker
fem!reader, she/her pronouns are used
★☆✵☆★
warnings: smoking, cursing, suggestive themes
dating matt and trey and smoking with them <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
★☆✵☆★
an activity that you 3 frequently participate in
did it a lot together, before and after dating
sometimes you use a pipe, being that it’s yours, you light up and get first hit
when it does come to rolling, you tend to let matt or trey do it for the sole purpose of watching their fingers at work
watching the smoke leave their lips might be one of the hottest things ever
now when it comes to the entertainment,
you literally have to put up a fight to pick the movie
you’ll always end up choosing anyway,
and it’s always something stupid
think of an annoying, slapstick 90’s comedy, like the cable guy or billy madison
(not saying these r bad bc i lowkey adore them)
“oh my god.” trey gasps loudly
“what??” you reply, worry in your voice,
“this movie fucking sucks.”
earns him a good smack on the arm
“you fucking scared me!!”
i can imagine that trey is a little more energetic and talkative while matt lays back, a bit more tired and relaxed
doesn’t mean that matt isn’t talking though
in fact, they CANNOT shut up
actually impossible to have a few minutes of silence
it’s honestly cute watching them interact in such a state
giggling to each other and pointing at the tv screen and their surroundings like children
they piss themselves laughing with their dumb little inside jokes
you just sit there and observe with a smile on your face, joint in hand
“y/nnnn,” matt whines, sinking into the couch
“pass it over already, fuckin’ fiend over here..”
“shhh, shutup, c’mere—” you’d gesture him to come closer
yes, you shotgun the smoke into his mouth
and yes, trey gets super jealous and demands you do it with him too
matt leans into you and let’s you play with his hair, his hands,,
trey would rather have your hands under his shirt, gently raking your nails across his back— he likes the sensation
matt babbles on and on about random shit. he can barely get through one sentence without starting another story halfway.
trey gets cuddly, suddenly he’s never felt the touch of a human being before and needs to be all over you and matt
he definitely ends up sprawled out on top of you guys
his head in your lap, legs on top of matt’s, probably has his foot in his face
“ew! gross, dude.”
cue giddy chuckles from you and trey
“pssstt… y/n..” he whispered, looking up at you
you look down to see his blue, glossy, low-lidded eyes..
oh my god
trey notices the way you stare at him
“hi.” he says with a stupid smile on his face
“hey, baby.” you giggle
from behind you, matt’s hands find their way to your waist,
or were they there before?
smoke sesh quickly turns to a make out sesh

Respect or Privacy (1)
Tucker is excited for everything about college, even having a roommate for the first time. At least, he is until his roommate Danny turns out to be standoffish and a little bit of a dick. Whatever. It's a disappointment, but he'll survive. The same might not be said of Danny.
This is my first fic for Phic Phight 2024. The prompts I used were:
College AU where the characters don't meet until college and Danny has to hide his halfa status from his dorm roommate (your choice which character that is) [from @shadowfaerieammy], and Tucker fucked up. Hard. But it’s like, how the hell was he supposed to know that hacking the federal government was a bad idea? [from @lexosaurus]
You can also read it on AO3.
Chapter 1: Fuck Around (Chapter 2)
[No warnings apply]
Tucker was excited for college. After the nightmare that was high school (his dad's "just be confident and people will like you and treat you well" advice had been complete garbage), he was looking forward to a school experience where everyone had actually signed up for and more-or-less wanted to be there. He was looking forward to studying programming and information technology, and spending six hours a day on average hanging out with people who were just as interested in those subjects as he was.
Then, obviously, there were the college girls—big bonus to this whole experience. Lastly, he was looking forward to the dorm experience. He'd always been kind of lonely growing up. He was an only child, and he'd never had any close friends. Honestly, he'd been closer with his bullies than he had been to the other guys in the A/V club his mom had convinced him to join which was... embarrassing.
But all freshman were required to live on campus, and he'd signed up for a double room, meaning that he would have a roommate who would have no choice but to spend time with him, and as a result, they would have to get used to each other, and learn to live with each other, and inevitably become best friends—at least until the end of freshman year.
When Tucker reached his new dorm, room 416, he could hear grumbling and shuffling on the other side of the door. His roommate must already be here. He grinned as he opened the door.
"Hey, roomie!" Tucker greeted cheerfully.
His roommate jumped at the sound, and slammed a dresser drawer closed on his finger. "Fuck!" he yelped, and turned around with a wide-eyed look on his face like he'd just been caught doing something illegal.
"Uh... sorry," Tucker said. "Didn't mean to spook ya."
"Heh, you didn't... I mean you surprised me, but I wasn't like... scared...." He cleared his throat and gave Tucker an awkward forced smile. "I'm Danny."
"Tucker Foley." Tucker tossed his duffel bag onto the empty bed and gently placed his box of tech on the desk next to it. "Looked like you were struggling with that drawer, whatcha got in there?"
Danny's smile fell. "Look, I don't wanna sour our relationship right out of the gate, but that's really none of your business. I would appreciate it if you kept your nose out of my stuff."
"Uh... okay, sure," Tucker agreed. "Wasn't trying to be nosy or anything, anyway. Sorry."
"Good," Danny said, the tension in his body language easing slightly. "As long as you respect my privacy, I think we'll get along fine."
Tucker smiled, but he felt his heart sink. 'Respect my privacy' sounded a lot like it meant 'leave me alone', and 'leave me alone' was pretty much the same as 'I don't want to be your friend', which sounded a lot like all Tucker's hopes for dorm life flushing down the toilet.
"So where're you from, Danny?" Tucker asked. "Or is that information too personal."
Danny paused before answering, like he was genuinely trying to decide if it was too personal or not.
"Illinois," he said finally. "You?"
"Illinois, also. What town?" Tucker asked. "Man, wouldn't it be wild if we grew up in the same place and never met before? I'm from Elmerton."
"Elmerton? Ew," Danny said with a laugh. "I'm an Amity Parker. I'd rather die than live in Elmerton. Elmerton sucks."
"Hey! It may be kinda boring, I'll give you that much, but it's still better than haunted-ass Amity Park!" Tucker argued, thankful it seemed like things were starting to lighten up a bit between him and his new roommate. "At least I didn't grow up surrounded by a bunch of evil ghosts taking revenge on the living."
Tucker was laughing, but just like that, Danny's demeanor got cold and closed off again. Shit. Tucker let his laughter awkwardly trail off, wondering what he'd said wrong. Man, making friends was even harder than he thought.
"Is that all your stuff?" Danny asked. "Just the one bag and a cardboard box?"
"Oh! No! I still have some things to bring up; I left them with the dorm supervisor. I better go get 'em."
"Yeah, you probably should," Danny agreed. "I wouldn't put that much trust in the dorm supervisor, he seemed kinda shady."
"Er... right."
Tucker went down to grab the last of his stuff, and by the time he reentered the dorm room, Danny was gone.
He sighed. "Great first impression, Tuck. Well done."
Danny must've arrive much earlier in the day than Tucker had, because most of his stuff was already unpacked. His bed was made and everything. As Tucker's eyes wandered over Danny's side of the room, they were drawn to the bottom drawer of his dresser, the one he'd accidentally slammed his finger in, trying to make sure Tucker didn't see what was in it.
"I shouldn't," he said out loud. "Danny literally asked for one thing—that I respect his privacy."
Poking around now would be completely stupid. It would ruin my chances of ever being friends with him. Tucker reminded himself internally.
Still, he couldn't tear his eyes away from that drawer.
And he doubted Danny would be back any time soon. It wouldn't be dark for a few more hours at least, and Danny was clearly avoiding him.
Against his better judgement, Tucker knelt down on the floor and opened the dresser drawer, expecting to see sex toys, or lingerie, or something similarly embarrassing. Instead, he found strange, futuristic looking weapons and technology. It looked like alien shit. Was Danny secretly an alien? No, that was stupid.... Right?
Tucker slowly pushed the drawer closed again, questioning everything he knew about the universe.
He would have preferred sex toys.
No, they had to be earthly technology, because Tucker distinctly remembered seeing a logo emblazoned on everything that said 'Fenton Works'. All he had to do was look that up online and put his mind at ease. Danny seemed like a... fairly reasonably guy. There had to be a good explanation for him having a cache of high tech weapons in a college dorm. Although, to be honest, it wasn't looking too good at the moment.
Tucker unpacked his box of tech, set up his desktop PC set up and plugged in his laptop and PDA to charge. Then, he looked up Fenton Works, which brought him to an absolutely hideous orange and teal website for what seemed to be a small family business in Amity Park that specialized in ghost hunting and developing ghost hunting technology.
A sigh of relief escaped him.
Danny definitely wasn't an alien. He was just another paranoid Amity Parker, worried about ghosts attacking, even though they were all the way in Wisconsin. That was probably why he'd tensed up when Tucker made a crack about ghosts before. Tucker's dad sometimes went to Amity Park for work, and he said they were super serious about ghosts there, and didn't appreciate jokes about their haunting situation. Honestly, Tucker should have known better from the start, but he'd thought they were riffing. He hadn't gotten all offended when Danny made fun of Elmerton.
Whatever. He could apologize when Danny got back. In the meantime, he started programming his class schedule for this semester into his PDA, making sure there would be room for homework—and, more importantly, college parties.
As the days passed and classes started and the two of them both got busier, Tucker made an effort to talk to Danny as much as possible, and even though Danny smiled and responded politely, he always dodged any personal topics. Also, Tucker was pretty sure he was avoiding spending more time together than was strictly necessary, but he couldn't be sure. Still, he was determined for he and Danny to be friends.
"So Danny, I heard about this party one of the frats is hosting to draw in pledges," Tucker said. "Obviously I'm not planning to join a frat, but it could still be fun. Wanna come with me?"
"Uh... I'm not really a party person," Danny said apologetically. "I'm more of a bed person, enjoyer of sleeping and chilling."
"I get that, sure, but don't you want to meet people? Make friends? Maybe find a girlfriend? Or boyfriend, I don't judge."
"Thanks, but no thanks," Danny refused. "You have fun, though."
Tucker left it at that, but he couldn't help wondering what exactly was up with Danny being so standoffish. Did he have a problem with Tucker in particular, or was he just anti-social? It wasn't exactly unusual for someone not to want to go to a party. It could be that he didn't like crowds, or loud music, or being around drunk people, or frats in general. There were plenty of reasons Danny might not want to go—and no evidence that Tucker was part of the reason at all.
That didn't stop Tucker from wondering if he was.
That trend continued for the first month. Tucker would invite Danny to do something as friends, and Danny would decline for one reason or another, no matter what it was Tucker had proposed. Everything from parties in the dorm, to just going to get coffee or tea before classes, whether it was loud or quiet, crowded or solitary—even going to study at the library in silence, Danny always had a reason to say 'no', and Tucker was starting to take it personally.
"Okay, what's your deal?" Tucker demanded after Danny once again refused to join him, this time for literally just takeout in their dorm room—Tuck had offered to pay and everything. "Do you have some kind of problem with me, or something? I just want us to get along and shit, 'cause we're roommates, and we have to live with each other all year, but you keep shutting me down! So what gives?!"
"Nothing," Danny insisted. "Honestly, I'm just not hungry."
"Yeah, this time you're not hungry, but you refused laser tag 'cause you're not very athletic, and studying at the library 'cause you had other plans with your classmates, and coffee before class 'cause you don't drink coffee—even though I've literally seen you drinking coffee before!" Tucker snapped. "Dude, it's ten pm, and you haven't eaten since breakfast, you can't not be hungry, so what's wrong with you?!"
Danny flinched at the question, but Tucker couldn't feel too bad for mildly offending the guy who'd been blowing him off all month.
"Nothing," Danny said again, not meeting Tucker's angry gaze. "I'm just... I'm just a regular, ordinary guy. So go ahead and order takeout if you care so much, I'm not gonna stop you."
"No. That's not good enough," Tucker insisted. "I been trying to hang with you since we moved in, and you keep blowing me off for no good reason. So what's the issue? Is it 'cause I'm black?"
"What?! No!"
"Then what?! Give me one good reason why you're treating me this way?"
"Look, it's not about you, okay?"
"Oh, you're gonna pull out an 'it's not you, it's me'? I'm not your overbearing girlfriend, I'm your roommate, and all I wanted to do was get along."
"I don't want any friends, okay?!" Danny finally burst out. "I don't have any problem with you, I just... I just think I'm better off on my own."
All Tucker could do was stare in disbelief.
"I made up excuses because I didn't want to offend you or anything, because I didn't want us to be on bad terms," Danny continued. "We're still roommates. I know that, and I'm not so stupid that I wanted to torch that relationship right out of the gate, but I'm not looking for someone to be best friends with, you know? All I wanted from a roommate was mutual respect and privacy."
"Why?" asked Tucker at length.
"What do you mean 'why'?"
"I mean, why do you want to be alone all the time?" Tucker pressed. "I been there, and it sucks. It's lonely and sad and pathetic and people make fun of you for being some kind of defective human being who can't get anyone lo like you. Why would you want that?"
"I like my solitude," Danny mumbled. He was back to not being able to look at Tucker again.
"You're afraid," Tucker refuted.
"What makes you say that?"
"It's obvious," Tucker said. "I don't know why, but for some reason you're just fucking terrified of people getting close to you? So what is it? Are you terminally ill or something? Do you secretly just have a totally shitty personality? What?"
For a long moment, Danny was silent, but he did tilt his head up to look Tucker squarely in the eye before speaking.
"That's none of your business."
Tucker's forehead wrinkled and his mouth fell open incredulously. Slowly, he shook his head. "Fuckin' fine. Whatever," he said finally. "You want a roommate who'll leave you alone—you got it. But mutual respect is off the table, 'cause you just lost mine."

Brooklyn
kai parker x reader
kai finds you wearing his shirt
tags: fluff, love confessions, cupcakes, first kiss
word count: 1.9k
“That shirt looks familiar.”
“Mhm,” you mutter, neither confirming nor denying Damon’s questioning statement.
“Swear I’ve seen it before…”
Shrugging, you grab a cupcake off the counter. “What are these for?”
“Caroline was bored. Fair game, she said.”
“Cool. Tell her I said thanks.”
“Yeah. Hey, have you seen Bonnie?”
“Not recently. Maybe she has a class? It’s only eleven.”
“Ehh, I’ll ask Elena.”
“Okay.”
He takes one more look at you, or, more so, the gray Brooklyn shirt loosely fit on your body. “I can’t place it but it’s bothering the hell out of me.”
The sound of the boarding house door opening distracts you both.
“Bonnie, that you?” Damon calls expectantly.
“Nope, me.” Sporting a smirk, Kai walks into the kitchen.
“Ugh, why!” The older groans, “why do you still live here?!”
“Funniest thing - I don’t know where else to go, and you actually want me nearby so you can ‘keep an eye on me’. Plus, she’s here,” he points to you. “Is that my shirt?”
A smile was already on your face from Kai’s first comment, but it grows wider at his realization, “Mhm!”
“I knew it looked familiar! Ew, why are you wearing his shirt, YN?!”
For once, Kai agrees with Damon, “I hate that shirt.”
“Well I like it.”
“Why?” Damon repeats.
“I don’t know… because it’s… soft,” you start to blush, “and smells like you.”
“Ugh, get a room, you two!”
“We are in a room. You get out of the room.”
“A kitchen is not a room, Parker.”
“Kai,” you interrupt their mini-argument, “fair game cupcakes!”
“Wait, really? I’m not gonna get in trouble this time?”
“Nope! Damon said Caroline said ‘fair game’!”
“Hold on now, you two better not eat all of those. Just because they’re fair game doesn’t mean Caroline won’t miss them. She was up from two till six in the morning baking them because she couldn’t sleep.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know, it’s Caroline. Regardless, don’t eat them all.”
“We won’t. Just one and then Kai and I will go.”
As you speak, the door opens again, but then abruptly closes. No one walks into the kitchen, and no other sound is made.
“Umm… I’m going to go check on that,” Damon eyes the foyer suspiciously. “You two, stay put.”
Alone, Kai turns to you. “So… my shirt…”
“Do you want it back?”
“No, no, you can keep it. Like I said, I hate that shirt. But why are you wearing it?”
“I told you, silly. It’s soft and it smells like you.”
“Why would you want it to smell like me?”
Blush overtakes your cheeks and you have to look away from his face.
“Y/N, you okay?” When you don’t answer, he puts a hand on your knee. “Hey. You’re worrying me now.”
You muster up a bit of courage to look up, “I’m okay. Just… I don’t know, it’s comforting. Makes me feel close to you.” Then you add, “I’m sorry.”
“What? Don’t be sorry.” His eyes check over you completely, and your words finally sink in. Oh. This is one of those emotions I’m still figuring out. Thanks, Luke. “Um, to be honest…” Just admit it. It’s Y/N, you don’t have to hide feelings from her. “You look hot in it.”
“Wait, really?” You swear your blush darkens a shade. “You’re not mad I’m wearing it?”
“Of course not. I was just surprised. But no, yeah…” He doesn’t finish his sentence, but you do notice how he’s neglected his cupcake to run his gaze along your body. As if he’s found a more interesting dessert…
Kai’s mouth parts slightly. His tongue licks his lower lip and he takes a deep breath. “Can I-”
“No worries, guys! It’s Elena,” Damon re-enters the room with the girl hot on his trail. “She heard Y/N say Kai’s name and didn’t want to have to see him, so she tried to make a quiet exit. Unfortunately for her, I tracked her down so I wouldn’t have to suffer with you alone.”
The last few syllables leave more quietly as he notices your proximity. “What’s going on here?”
“Nothing,” you smile sweetly, popping off the counter. “I have class at noon and Kai’s gonna walk me there. Tell Care thanks again for the cupcakes.”
“Uh, okay. Bye, then, I guess.”
“If I see Bonnie, I’ll tell her you’re looking for her.”
“Cool, thanks. But don’t bring Kai too close to her.”
You roll your eyes, “of course, yes, I’ll watch out for the little witch’s feelings. No matter how stupid or irrational they are.”
“Y/N,” Damon warns.
“Kidding. But seriously, out of everyone we’ve faced and she’s most scared of Kai? It’s laughable.” A second later, you change your demeanor. “Anyway, see you guys later! Come on, Kai.”
As you leave, you hear Elena mutter, “bitch.”
It makes you laugh. And when Kai sees you laughing, despite being angered at her choice of word for you, he can’t help but chuckle.
“Do you really have a class at noon?” Kai asks as you walk farther into the woods behind the Salvatore house.
“Nah, I just wanted to get away. My class is at two.”
“Oh.”
The two of you sit on rocks in a clearing. It’s always been your go-to hiding spot, but it’s a place you don’t mind sharing with him.
“So what were you saying earlier? Before Thing #1 and Thing #2 showed up?”
He laughs at the nicknames. “Well… I was saying you looked hot in my shirt. And you still do. I, uh, was also going to ask if I could admit something, though.”
You feel a lump in your throat, “of course. You can always talk to me, Kai.”
“Yeah… I know. That’s the only reason I’m comfortable telling you this. I’m still not really sure of my emotions; I’m trying to figure them out, but they’re messy, and it’s hard. Like, for most of my childhood, and the time spent in the prison world, I was angry, and also, numb. I guess I’m learning a lot of the numbness maybe was loneliness, I’m not sure. But being around you, I’ve never felt either of those emotions. I have like, a whole new set of emotions, and have been trying to Google what they are. Of course, I still feel the anger and the numbness  - like when Damon scolded you the other day for finishing his bourbon, I was angry - but I’ve never felt that way towards you. Anyway, one of the things I searched for was for a feeling of like, bugs… but in my stomach. And it said I either have gastroenteritis, or that I’m in love. Considering I’m never sick, and I’ve never felt like this before, but I do know that I think I love you, I’m going to go with the latter and uh, I guess, admit that I love you.” He only stops rambling for a second to catch his breath, “and it wasn’t just today that I realized this. I did the Google search, like, weeks ago, but I’ve been looking for supporting evidence to confirm if it’s really love, but it is. Seeing you in my shirt, hearing you say it’s comforting to feel like I’m close to you, really, uh, solidified it.”
You’re speechless. Here is this boy - that you love - admitting he’s in love with you. A boy who has never really experienced love before, to the best of your knowledge.
“Of course, the hot part of seeing you in my shirt was nothing new. I’m not a stranger to that. Even though I’ve never actually, uh… never mind. But I’ve never wanted nor felt the love alongside the… lust, but uh… surprise… you make me feel both. So, um, please say something, Y/N, I can’t stop talking.”
You finally snap out of your haze, blurting out, “I love you, too. I’ve also known for weeks, but didn’t want to scare you away, or mess up our friendship. That’s actually part of the reason I sought out your shirt. Knew it was one you wouldn’t miss too much, but definitely gives me a sense of having you close to me.”
“Wait, really?”
“I’m sure. To be honest, I had a crush on you even before the whole merging thing. But then watching movies here, spending nights at The Grill together… I mean, first I just thought you were cute, then I loved hearing you talk, then I don’t know, at some point I fell for you.”
“You think I’m cute?”
“Have you looked in a mirror?” You blurt out without a second thought. Blush covers your cheeks immediately; it paints Kai’s face, too. “Yes, Kai, I think you’re cute. And you have a sweet side that you don’t show often, but I’ve seen it. And you’re loyal to people that you know you can trust, and I’d trust you with my life.”
The all-powerful leader of the Gemini Coven is at a loss for words.
“May I also add, you’re not just cute… it was pretty hot that time you choked that guy for information at The Grill. When you asked me to look up the location he finally revealed and I took a minute to respond, it was because I was distracted by your hands. The way your fingers curled around his neck, and how your rings rested against his veins. So, um, the lust goes both ways. Just so you know.”
He’s still speechless, but swallows hard. “Didn’t realize I had that effect on you. I thought you were just bored.”
“You could never bore me, Kai.”
As if that single sentence were a love language, he crawls closer to you. “Can… can I kiss you?” He stutters on his words.
“Please do.”
He starts slow at first, taking your face in his hands. Feeling the shape of your jaw; the softness of your skin. His eyes search for hesitancy in your own, but upon seeing none, settle on your lips. He moves in at the same pace, making the first kiss so gentle, it barely feels like he’s there.
“Kai,” you whine.
Hearing his name come from your lips finally does him in. He deepens the kiss, grabbing a tighter hold of your face. Your hands go to his hair, pulling at it just a little. One hand travels down to your neck, and the cold metal of a ring makes you groan. Though almost as quickly as it started, it ends. Kai takes a deep breath after breaking it off, during which you can’t help but notice his eyes have turned almost black.
“Just what I mean - cute, but hot.” You’re slightly out of breath yourself, but not as bad as he is.
Kai smiles, then leans back, still panting. “Can I make another confession?”
“Always.”
“That was my first kiss.”
You stare at him. “Ever?”
“No touching, remember? Could barely leave my room, let alone find a girl to kiss. Then there’s the isolation,” he pauses. “But it’s okay. I’d go through all of it over and over if it means that when I get out, I get to kiss you.”
Your heart flutters like a thousand butterflies have taken flight, and you rush to capture him in another kiss. “I love you, Kai,” you mutter against his lips.
He breaks it apart to smile, “I love you, too.”

You're My Angel
or the one where running errands with peter makes you realize your feelings for him.
wooo! first published story. it has not been betad so if you're looking to be a mutual/beta reader pleeeease hit me up
peter parker x fem!reader
word count: 2,700
warnings: none really. angst if you squint bc unrequited love that ends up requited
i don't like using y/n so peter and the reader call each other lots of nicknames.
Tumblr media
nothing. nothing. nothing.
nothing in the fridge, nothing in the cabinets. no ingredients, barely any snacks. the only tangible things in my kitchen are a bottle of ketchup and multiple almost-rotten fruits. i slam the refrigerator door shut and lean against it with a sigh.
i guess next time i should stock up before a mission. living with my mom has its. we get along, and we don't get in each other's way; she's always at work and i'm always at "avenger club" as she likes to call it. however, being the only other person living here also means that if she doesn't buy groceries, it's my responsibility.
i'm contemplating using instacart for groceries when my phone rings in its spot on the counter. picking it up, a smile finds its way to my face as i see who's calling me.
"hiiii, angel!"
peter parker's voice pours from my phone's speakers. it's music to my ears. peter and i have known each other since he joined the avengers, two years after i had. we've been inseparable since that week in haiti, saving civilians from a freak tropical storm.
we had so much in common, from our love of legos to our protective sense for the people we care about. my friends like his friends, and vice versa. even my mom and may get along.
we're like peanut butter and jelly, chicken and waffles, and cookies and milk. we're great on our own, but together, we just make something amazing. wait, what?
i shake the ridiculous thought from my head as i remember i'm on the phone.
"what do you want, parker?" there's a playful accusatory tone in my voice as I cross my arms like he can see me.
"whatever do you mean? i can't just call my best friend because i want to talk to her?"
i roll my eyes and say, "peter, you only call me angel when you want something." and i know i'm right. he's called me angel ever since we went on a mission where i basically saved his life. he knows it strokes my ego.
"fine, you caught me. may's at this thing with some ladies she met at the library. i'm soooo bored."
"well you're in luck," i proclaim, pushing off of the fridge and walking down the hallway. "i need to run errands, you can come with me."
i hear something like plastic rustling on his end of the phone before he groans, "ew, errands? no thanks." his words are almost incoherent around a snack of some sort.
making it into my room, i drop my phone on the bed and start to change out of my sweats. "okay, stay at home and be bored out of your mind. and when i go to delmar's later don't ask me to bring you anything." i smirk at the commotion i hear from his side as i pull on a different shirt.
"delmar's? i'll be at your house in 10," he says loud and clear, then he hangs up.
I shake my head while messing with my hair a bit. not that i care what i look like in front of peter, i just like to be decent anytime i leave the house.
---
true to his word, peter knocked on my door 10 minutes later. his cheeks tinted red and his hair unruly.
"did you swing here?" i ask him, reaching up to comb through the curls until they lay somewhat flat. he leans down a bit and allows me to work, his hair like silk between my fingers.
"yeah, the sooner we do boring grown-up stuff, the sooner we can get sandwiches." he looks at me with a gleam in his eyes that never disappears.
i push his head away lightly as a grab my purse and keys. "you only wanna run errands with me so i'll buy you food? you're such a leech, parker." i say with fake hurt in my voice as i turn to lock the door.
"awww. that's not true, i'd run errands with you anytime, angel." he coos, and i have to force myself to remain standing as he runs his fingertips down my spine.
i narrow my eyes at him to hide the fact that i'm wracking my brain for possible explanations of why he could have done that. there had to be something on my shirt. that gesture was pure friendliness, right? and better question, why did it make my knees feel weak as toothpicks?
"whatever, liar." i laugh a little to keep my voice steady as i brush past him towards the elevator.
as we get in, he asks me what kind of errands i need to run. first, the library to return some books, then groceries. then we can get delmar's i assure him.
the walk from my apartment building to the library isn't long, and once i return the books, we head for the grocery store. between the destinations, we talk about school, different shows, and our secret "club," but only with codenames in case anyone is listening. we people watch and play games, and every now and then i feel peter's hand brush mine. only slightly, like it was an accident, i pray it was an accident.
we reach the grocery store, and like the gentleman he is, he grabs a basket while i look for the list in my purse.
"okay, first things first, cereal." i declare, walking in one direction. they had recently rearranged the layout of the store, but i was confident that i knew where i needed to go. i turn to say something to peter when i realize he's walking the opposite way.
"peter," i call for him, "where are you going?"
"...to..get..cereal?" he points out like i've just asked him the most obvious question.
"baby," i condescendingly say, "cereal's this way," i point in the direction i was originally going.
"no, sweetheart, cereal is this way." he juts his thumb in the direction he was going.
"alright, parker." i walk closer to him. "since you think you know everything, let's make it a game."
"okay," he smirks as he crosses his arms, "i'm listening." his tongue swiping across his bottom lip.
my eyes catch on his thick arms, straining against his sweatshirt. stupid spider. and i have to rip my eyes away from the motion at his lips to continue my thoughts. what is wrong with me today?
"for every item on the list," i fight to keep my eyes on his, "we'll make a bet about which side of the store it's on. whoever loses the most has to buy dinner."
he nods along to what i'm saying, seemingly contemplating, but i can already see the mischief in his eyes. "i'll play your game, but when you lose just know i'm ordering everything delmar's makes."
"oh please, be my guest," i nod along with him, "i just hope you've got enough cash to back yourself up."
in the next second, he's in my space. barely three inches away as my breath catches in my throat.
"so, cereal... lead the way."
---
i turn on my heels, speeding towards where i know the cereal is. he doesn't expect me to move so quickly, as he's still standing where i was a second ago. but he reacts, catching up to me slightly.
my heart is beating fast and hard, and i pray he can't hear it. i can't think for the life of me why he's acting like this. he can't like me. we're friends. that's how i know that peter is awkward. and he's shy, especially with girls that he likes. but he's not shy right now. he's being so forward. which means...
he doesn't like me, he's playing with me. this really is a game to him. he only calls me angel when he wants something.
i almost pass what i'm looking for in my scatterbrained state. "see," i motioned, "there it is, like i said."
i grab what i need and put it in the basket, barely looking at him, though i can feel his confusion at my change in emotion. i take the list, putting my initial next to the first item, and read off the second item to him. we place our bets, and head in his direction first. it turns out to be correct, so i check off the item and write his initial. we continue this for the rest of the items, but my mind begins to wander again.
i can't believe peter would mess with me like this. playing with my feelings. feelings that i didn't even know i had. i try to think about when they could have developed, and it dawns on me. as i watch him put bread in the basket, an item i was right about, i realize why today is different.
peter and i had never run errands together. being in such a domestic situation with someone i had come to care for so much made me realize just how much i like peter. of course, when i first met him, i thought he was attractive, but more so, i found him adorable. and he's funny, and he cares so much. and throughout the years he's done everything he can to make me happy. running errands with him made me think of the future. our future and how this could be us one day, making groceries for our apartment.
but it will never be us, because peter doesn't feel that way, and he's playing with me, and it hurts more than i can admit.
i don't hear whatever gloating statement he makes as he wins the next item, fruits and vegetables, and he notices. his face falls as he assesses what might be wrong, and i can feel my throat close at the thought of having this conversation. the universal, friendship-ending, i-like-you-why-don't-you-like-me-back conversation. i cough, clearing my face of any emotion except feigned annoyance.
"good job. you're in the lead by one. the last item is jam, and i think it's this way, so let's go."
i don't give him a chance to say anything as i take the basket, and head in the direction i indicated. i can feel him keeping his distance, but i don't bother to look behind me. it's good that he can feel his game ending. maybe we can go back to being regular friends after this. hopefully.
we reach the shelves filled with jellies, jams, syrups, and preserves. it's exactly where i thought it was, although a little high, and i mark my initials next to it. peter congratulates me quietly. i make no comment about how we're tied now, and i reach for it, just aching to hurry up and get out of this store and go home.
i can't reach it, not even on my tippy toes, so i step on the lowest shelf to give myself a boost. i feel my fingers graze the jar, and i almost have it when i hear peter.
"angel, you're gonna hurt yourself, just let me get it."
and it's a good thing that his hand is hovering over my lower back, waiting for permission. because hearing him call me that name, the one that doesn't sound the same anymore, makes me falter, and with my weight of center because of the basket, i slip off the shelf.
it's not that high off the ground, but in my distressed state, it startles me nonetheless. peter catches me, one arm on my back and one arm around my front. i'm sure he can feel my heavy breaths, my beating heart.
he takes the basket, sets it on the ground, and i can feel it before he says it. it takes everything in me not to cry. it's not enough.
"are you okay, angel?"
next thing i know, i'm angrily wiping tears from my face and pushing him away from me.
"stop it. stop calling me that," i say between deep breaths.
"okay. i'm sorry. i thought you liked it." he steps towards me, hands up, with an apologetic shrug.
he's right.  and that's the problem.
"i do; i do like it. but not like this, not when you don't mean it." i see his brows furrow.
"wh-what do you mean, 'i don't mean it'?" i don't realize he's so close now, and as he places his hands gently on my arms, i don't stop him.
steadying myself, i gaze at my shoes. unable to look at him as i rip my heart out to put it on my sleeve.
"you only call me angel when you want something. but today was different, and i hadn't put two and two together until just now. when you brushed my back in front of my apartment, and when you kept touching my hand on our walk, and when you got in my space when we first got here, it all drove me insane. and you keep calling me angel, but it's different, and now i know why. because you're messing with me, peter parker. and it hurts because i really, really like you, but this is just a game to you. which hurts even more because i never thought that you would do something like this."
i finish my rambling in sniffles, and i wait with bated breath for him to laugh in my face.
"aw, baby," his hands cupping my face coax me to look at him. "do you know why i call you angel? hm?"
"because i saved your life," i sniffle and try to look back at the floor. but he holds me in place, dipping his head to keep eye contact with me.
"well yes, but also, because you're my angel. any time i hear you laugh, it makes my heart feel like it's gonna beat out of my chest. and you're so beautiful, all the time, it's like you're glowing. but most of all, just like an angel, you make my world a better place just by being in it."
it's easier for me to breathe now. and i don't think i've ever been happier than i am in this moment. i bet i look hysterical, covered in tears, and standing on the jelly aisle.
"if you really like me, why did you act like that, all bold and stuff?" I'm starting to calm down, "the peter parker i know is awkward when he likes a girl, always."
peter's cheeks go pink, and it's his turn to struggle to hold eye contact.
"i don't know, when i asked mr. stark what i should do about liking you, he told be to be bold because girls like that. i guess i didn't think about if that would work with you."
his thumbs caress back and forth against my cheeks absentmindedly.
"well, it doesn't work with me," i place my hands on his wrists, my thumbs mirroring his motion. "i want awkward peter parker."
his face is slowly inching towards mine, and this time i don't mind.
"oh yeah?," his eyes flicker to my lips before returning to mine. "i promise i'll go back to being awkward, right after this."
he presses his lips gently against mine, the salt from my dried tears present between us as i kiss him back. even though we were standing in the middle of a grocery store, it was the softest, most romantic experience i've ever had. i wouldn't change a thing. as his tongue brushed against my bottom lip, i had no choice but to regard the fact that we were in public.
"okay, tiger," i pulled back, reluctantly.
the pink in his cheeks deepened drastically.
"see," i move my hands to cup his face now, "there's my peter parker."
he turns my hand to kiss my palm, then the other. we separate long enough for him to grab the jam and place it in the basket, picking it up. then, he wraps his free arm around me and pulls me into his side.
"i know we tied, but will you still buy me dinner?", i ask as we walk towards the checkout line.
he laughs and kisses my temple, "yes angel, i'll buy you dinner."

Three Parkers: the boy and headaches
credit to all pics I use for heads can be found here
Tumblr media
summary: three Parker brothers stayed alone after their parents decided to leave town and turn off their phones. the neighborhood is very familiar with them: Kai, the oldest, seems like a total punk with nothing going on for him; Tyler, the middle one, is always sad and quiet; and Sam, the youngest, is just... weird.
author's note: this unites three fandoms: TVD's Kai Parker (do not look for anything Vampire Diaries related here; I just took Kai), twenty one pilots and Atypical show. AU for all three.
warnings: graphic violence, swearing, mental illness blooming, mentions of self harm
word count: 1113
the masterlist
The boy was still struggling a little. Kai was getting annoyed. He pressed his left palm into the kid’s chin and pushed. His head twisted deeper into the grass. Faint gasps were coming out of his mouth, but Kai has had enough of fun for tonight. He pressed further, while holding the boy in place with another hand and a knee, until he heard the neck snap. There was silence covering the lawn, bright white light from the streetlamps making the skin look very pale. Kai let go and stepped away, thinking to himself, ew. Holding dead bodies. Gross.
Strength was flowing through his veins, making the tips of his fingers sting a little. He walked home, passing by three bus stops, until he was completely calm. Observing the porch of his house, he rubbed his face with the back of his palm, and it reminded him of the boy’s desperate attempts to break free. The little bastard must have scratched him while struggling: right cheek was burning a little. He entered the house, caressing his cheek musingly, and took off his converses.
“...know, these rubber bands are actually pretty cool”, a quiet voice was coming from the kitchen. As Kai showed up in the doorframe, two faces looked up at him. “What happened?” Tyler asked. He was the one with all the tattoos. Kai wondered, silently, what they have been talking about, since he knew the only way you could use rubber bands. You wear them when you want to harm yourself, and pop the bitch to snap out of an episode. Tyler was wearing them for so long the two other brothers didn’t even notice at first when they turned into black ink circles around his forearms and wrists.
Sam examined him with shrewd look of narrowed eyes.
“Did you fight?” the youngest asked. Kai’s always called Sam ‘youngest’ in his mind. For many reasons, one of them being, Sam was the youngest of them. His uncombed hair, strands of it standing on the back of his head, the big owl-like scared eyes with which he observed their quiet street, his nervous hands – these were all the qualities of the youngest.
“I didn’t”, Tyler did not like the way his brother emphasized his own pronoun.
“What have you been up to?” he asked, trying not to seem to upset; every time Tyler got visibly miserable, Kai went into a rage episode that only stopped after midnight.
“This obviously looks like a defensive wound on his face”.
Kai pressed his nails into the cut, wincing with pleasure. “Dude, gross”, Tyler let go of the youngest’s forearm. Kai could see three deep cuts between his wrist and elbow.
“Did somebody hurt you, Sam?”
“No”, Sam rubbed his nose and sniffed. He had runny nose all year long. Tyler sat at the table and scratched his elbow absent-mindedly. There was easy silence until Kai popped a can of Coke open and took a big sip.
“So, what happened?” Sam asked.
“You remember that kid who kept stealing your bike and thrashed your backpack?” Tyler shook his head with disappointment.
Sam was listening with his mouth slightly agape, like he usually did when he was completely concentrated. “Yeah”.
“He won’t bother you anymore”.
“Agh”, Tyler groaned, his head turned to the oldest brother suddenly.
“Don’t you know other ways of dealing with people, Kai? What’s with this lust for brutality with you?”
“Apparently, he knows other ways”, Sam said with slight surprise in his voice. Sometimes he wondered how is that, that the smart kid like Tyler can’t grasp the idea of murderousness. “But he derives pleasure from inflicting pain on others, just like you like playing on your keyboard all the time”.
Tyler raised his eyebrows at Sam. “You don’t get it, do you? He killed Teddy”.
Sam shut up with a blank expression on his face. Tyler rubbed his own wrists.
The three young men looked at each other, having formed a triangle above the long wooden counter. “Are going to keep pretending it’s not fucked up that you take it out on neighbors?” Tyler asked, looking Kai bravely in the eye. Kai was sipping his soda, his cheek burning bright orange pain. Tyler’s glance hurt much better like that. When he looked at him the way he looks at garbage bins on the other side of the road. As if he didn’t feel the same about people. As if it wasn’t him who choked the poor Mr Ding, the fat ginger cat, while throwing a fit over a girl. Hypocrisy was written all over Tyler; in his soft brown eyes, on his round face of a martyr, on the dark palms of his hands encircled with tattoos. At least Kai always confessed when he did something dreadful, because he liked it. Tyler would never admit it if he stole so much as a piece of gum from a shop. He had to be the perfect one, the gentle one, the golden middle between his evil brother and his weird robotic brother. That was one of the things Sam wasn’t able to perceive with his machine-like 5D mind. Tyler thought they were both freaks, and he was the normal one. If only, if only.
“I hid his body”, Kai said simply. Grinding sugar on his teeth always made him act sweet, like candy he ate all the time. That’s why their cupboard and fridge looked like a candy store stall: to keep Kai calm and happy.
“How did you kill him?” Sam asked. Tyler winced, pressing his palm to his left temple.
“I broke his neck… Tyler, is it the headache again?” With Ty, it was chronic.
“Yes”, he whispered, waiting until green spirals faded in his eyes. As he was looking at his two brothers, Sam, with his wounded arms hidden between his knees, and Kai, his slender wrists in beany bracelets, the pain shot through the neck and into his ribs. He inhaled and tried to freeze the ache until it flooded his throat.
“Did you take your pills today?” Tyler laughed out ironically.
“What a family…” Kai winked at him playfully, pouring the rest of the can into his mouth.
“Speaking of which, did Mum call?”
“No”, he said, “they turned off their phones specifically so that they can forget they have three children”, Kai replied. Tyler shrugged his shoulders and rubbed the back of his neck.
Sam tilted his head a little: “I’m sure that’s not the reason…”
“Cluster!” Kai and Tyler exclaimed simultaneously. That was the code word for when they did not have energy to listen to his explanations, should he misread something that they said. Or to just stop him. To Sam, it was always the code for 'abort the action'.

Tumblr media
I’m in love with Mary Jane. She’s my main thang! Looks, it’s no secret I shill hard for Spider-Man. I love the kid. I have since I was a little boy. Peter Parker was the first character that I saw myself in. Obviously, not physically. I’m a huge Black dude. Pete, decidedly, is not. However, I was a nerd and a geek. I had very niche hobbies, an encyclopedic knowledge of dinosaurs, and basically lived in my own head. My friends and I would go LARP in a field during recess, instead of playing sports an what not. You can imagine I was not popular in my youth. I had my fair share of bullies but I never stopped being me. I never changed to please other people and a lot of that took strength of will. Strength of character. Spider-Man comics showed that to me. Watching Pete struggle, fight, and ultimately prevail, gave me the strength to do the same. I’m an old man now, today I turn forty, I still adore the kid. But I AM forty. I adore Pete and his adventures but I’s be lying if I said I’m having fun in the same way I did as a kid. I’m not, actually. I hate where 616 is and that’s because they took the best part of the character away from him; His relationship with Mary Jane Watson.
Tumblr media
You see, I’m an Eighties baby. My Spider-Man was married to MJ my entire adolescence. The Clone Saga ran basically my entire childhood, culminating in MJ losing their kid. Peter and Mary Jane canonically have a child! How do you take that bond away? You make a deal with the devil. That’s crazy to me! The Peter Parker I know, the one that showed me how to be me, assholes be damned, would never. But editorial made that happen and it’s sucked ever since. No shade at Gwen because she has a place in Pete’s heart, and mine, as well. I don’t hate Gwen. I hate she got Fridged but I don’t think she was “The One” for Pete. The “First”, sure, but it was always MJ in my head. Their chemistry together, especially during the Eighties, was outstanding. Everything got gritty back then and MJ was just this lovely beacon of light in an otherwise very dark era of the comics. I don’t know how editorial axes that because “marriage ages Peter too much”. That’s dumb because, every time you put the two back together, sales surge. Every time you break them up, sh*t goes sideways. I mean, look at the state of the mainline Spider-comic right no. No one likes that. At all. However, the run right before? Nick Spencer’s take on the character? One of the most popular (and bestselling) Amazing runs in decades. Why? MJ. Also, the writing. Zeb Wells is trash, man.
Tumblr media
Now, I’m not going to sit here and fellate Spencer’s most recent run because it ended in a wet fart but, hat arc went a long way to corrected several sins against Pete and I will always be grateful to that. MJ was back to being basically Peters wife. Their relationship was strong, loving, and adorable. Two nerds in love, as they should be. MJ even got a solo limited run, which was f*cking hilarious. Those books were just a plain good time, so when Spencer bowed out and Wells took over, starting with bringing back Ben Reilly, I was shuddered. Radiation poisoning? Really? Well, whatever. MJ and Pete were still together. The promised move in was still on the table, and even Black Cat got an MJ team-up, which, in of itself, was a pretty solid read. And them Zeb dropped his number one and I’ve hated everything about Amazing, ever since. Even if MJ has powers now. No, I take solace in the peripheral Spider-books. Miles is still a pretty strong read but my bread-and butter, in terms of more mainstream books, has been the Spider-Verse titles and their spin-offs. Lots of great stuff in there, particularly Spider-Girls where ewe see May and Annie Parker meet for the first time. Anya’s there, too, for reasons, but it was the dimension displaced sisters which did it for me.
Tumblr media
Loved seeing Mayday anytime a writer deems her worthy of inclusion (Mayday is the teenage to young adult version of the child MJ lost during the Clone Saga. She has her own MC2 book, the first in the little sub-line, and it’s a brilliant hundred issues, if you like Nineties schlock) and Anna-May Parker, the second daughter of Pete and MJ from the Renew Your Vows universe. Renew Your Vows dropped at the height of the “Give MJ Back” discourse ad an middle finger to the fans. Editorial, at the time, basically released the issue as a “This is why Peter and MJ need to be apart” but it back fired. That sh*t was awesome. Annie was awesome. MJ with powers kinda was awesome. The limited sold like gangbusters and Marvel had to admit that Peter was better with MJ. We got another Renew run, a longer one where we saw Annie grow up, MJ become Venom, and another round of record sales. Not only is Peter better with Mary Jane, their kids kick ass, too! Which is no wonder why Hickman decided to write his Spider-Man with the Spider-family in tow.

Coming off the best X-Men comics in probably three decades, Jonathan Hickman was given the reins to reshape the brand new Ultimate universe of Marvel Comics. The OG one has been defunct for years, but we got Miles out of it so it’s not like it was super missed. Hickman is the overall architect of this new take on Ultimate fair, but he is personally writing Ultimate Spider-Man and it is f*cking exceptional. There is so much to like, so many common sense changes that give a brand new, yet, familiar life to the book. Hickman opted for an older, more settle, more established Peter Parker that becomes Spider-Man. In this world, Pete and MJ have been married for years. She is mad crazy successful and he still does his Bugle thing, but they have two kids in tow. It’s not something that throws me as MC2 Peter had Mayday and Benji, plus April for a little while, so multiple Spider-kids is par for the course, but seeing the mature relationship between MJ and Pete never gets old. They are loving, supportive, and the way the interact on the page is classic, Eighties, nostalgia. I love Ultimate Spider-Man. It is everything a contemporary, mature take on Pete should be. It helps tremendously the art and writing are stupid superior to whatever the f*ck Romita and Wells are doing. F*ck, man, just let Pete and Mary Jane be together. The Parker luck can f*ck something else up, goddamn! Paul can eat a sack of baby dicks!

So as we know Tom is rich and has a lot of money and can basically buy anything he wants. So I imagine Tom had a very nice car since he has to have the best of everything. What would Tom do if Parker puked in his car (not on purpose obviously ) and how would he react to it Parker would definitely be more worried about the car then about herself though .
I think this goes back to an earlier ask I had which basically asked what Tom would do if Parker broke something expensive of his, and I think a similar answer applies here:
I think, instinctively, Tom would be, ew, that's disgusting, this is a Ferrari, Parker! but nevertheless he would help her. If she was drunk, I think he'd spend the night taking her inside, helping her get cleaned up in the shower, offering his clothes for her to wear, and making sure she had whatever she needed before he had to deal with the actual act of cleaning up the car. I think this would also be disgusting to the guy that doesn't even clean his own house, but Parker would go on some drunken rant about how bad she felt about it, and Tom would want to do something to make her feel better. Not to mention that she took care of him when they barely knew each other—let alone could stand to be in the same room with one another.
So, he cleans it, she sleeps, and when morning comes Tom Ryder pretends like nothing happened. It was just a car, after all, and she was drunk. No biggie.
It stuns Parker that he brushes off her apology the next morning—to the point that she keeps apologizing because she genuinely feels so bad—but I think at some point she would realize that his love language is not dwelling on embarrassing things because he knows how damaging anxiety/obsessing over these moments can be for someone. He said it was okay because it was okay;
If she can do it, so can he kind of mentality. That's what propels him to do a lot of things in their relationship. Maybe he doesn't know the "good boyfriend" handbook so there are bumps in the road, but Tom learns a lot about loving someone from Parker.
