As I reach my nearly two-year anniversary of this blog, which will be on February the 28th for any who are curious, I thought it would be appropriate to share a list of blog recommendations. Whether it simply be blogs I am enjoy currently, in the past, or anything else of the like, all deserve even more recognition, believe me.
So, without further ado:
@egcdeath -- By the gods, words cannot describe how absolutely awestruck I am by your work. The way you articulate emotion and action and just- everything? It's a work of art. I fell in love with your 'Love In Bloom' work months ago, and finding you again with your Soccer Parents series makes me ecstatic. I'm always left rereading and hungry for more of your work because it's just that good.
@robynlilyblack -- My absolute favorite Harry Potter writer I've ever read from. You have singlehandedly made me fall for characters I never would have thought about falling for. The emotion you put into your work leaves me weak at the knees sometimes, and the angst, oh boy, does it hurt when I read it. And there's so much comedy in your works, at times I find myself giggling whilst staring at my screen.
@quirkfics -- You write for some of the most underrated characters and I'm so happy that you do just that. I have, many a times, scoured the internet for works relating to specific characters that, unfortunately, almost nobody writes for. And then there's you! I cannot tell you how many hours I've poured into reading and re-reading your works because, truthfully, it's a little embarrassing.
@tired-teacher-blog -- My favorite Aizawa blog bar none. The way you write is, truly, mesmerizing. Every time I read something from you I'm always left in awe, whether that me with a grin or a flustered face or anything else of the like. You are doing the work of the gods.
@simpliao -- One of my favorite jschlatt authors on this website. Everything you write is adorable and fills me with warmth every time I have the blessing of reading through your blog. Everything you do is stunning and I am in love.
@jschqtt -- Another stunningly amazing jschlatt author, though I do love your other works with all the same adoration. Your works are so adorable and I cannot stress how seen I feel with some of your works. The prompts you write from just hit so close to home and the emotion behind them make them all the better.
@slxthxrxn-sxmp -- I initially found you from your Jurassic Park works and by the gods I fell in love with your writing so quickly. Just- every word I see on my screen when I read through your blog is captivating. I truly need to read through all of your works some time because I know how beyond worth it it will be.
@jschllatt -- My favorite jschlatt author on tumblr, easily. Though your blog is/has been, for the time being, inactive, I hope you know how much you, both as an author and as a friend, have impacted me. I still strive to write as amazingly as you do, though I reckon I have quite a bit of work to do before I create such art. You singlehandedly made me fall for more people than I can count by your work and I hate you for it. /j
@dreamwvrld -- The best author I've ever had the chance of reading from. And I mean that in all facets. You have been my idol ever since I started reading from you. The way you create such vivid scenes and the emotions you give the characters in your work leaves me at my knees. I still aspire to be like you, and even though you have left the fanfiction community, as I've told you, I can't wait to see and support you and your future endeavors. You have a fan for life here.
Writing, especially for a niche group as fanfiction writing is, is difficult and at times grueling work. The prospect of creating something designed specifically for a group of people to enjoy can be filling, but it is important to note the time and effort that goes into such work.
I'm apart of such a wide variety of fandoms and seeing so many people create content for them, spilling their thoughts onto a screen- it's beautiful. I'm sure many authors have seen me ramble in adoration about their works before, but it's important (at least in my eyes) to yell to the world 'look at this person and their amazing work!' from time to time.
To every author on this list (and to those who aren't yet), even if you're not currently or no longer active, even if you're only written a small number of works, even if you don't think your work is good (stop that, it is good and so much more), I, as well as the community(ies) you're apart of, adore you. <3
#Valentines may have passed#But you can best believe I'll still be openly sharing my love and adoration and appreciation#All of you#Even if you're not on this list#Make me and so many others strive to create art like you do#You deserve appreciation I hope you know#And to those who are looking for something good to read#Or simply something to read to pass the time if you will#I strongly reccomend you to check out all of these authors#Even if you're not apart of their listed fandoms#Pick something and try it out#You never know#You may just become as big of a fan of them as I#fanfiction#fan fiction#writer#write#writing#fanfiction writer#fanfiction writing#fan fiction writer#fan fiction writing#fanfic#fan fic#reccomendation#reccomendations#blog reccomendation#blog reccomendations#blog rec#blog recs

got a worm nibbling my brain. can someone help me find a piece of obscure media?
webcomic/indie comic from the 2010s. basically a sci-fi short story about a young girl (with red hair?) who was being raised by scientists as part of an experiment. she receives a haircut/has her head shaved, in preparation for her annual brain scan/testing. it is revealed that while her body is human, her "brain" is artificial, made of computer implants throughout her skull and spine. at some point her biological mother (also a scientist on the same campus?) encounters her and is repulsed, viewing her as a machine who has murdered her daughter.
it was very poignant and it bruised my heart and i can NOT find it anywhere
#i thought it was made by the creator of 'O Human Star' for some reason but apparently not?#goddammit goddammit goddammit#'i don't have to write down the title of this piece of media i encountered in my formative years bc i'll always remember it'#*cut to ten years later frantic googling*#fun fact 'a.i.' is now a completely useless search term#google in general is useless#and stuff i read 3+ years ago regularly vanishes from the internet#bookmarks are not enough! if you like indie media--download that shit! buy digital/physical copies while you can#save it to the cloud back it up and organize that shit!!!#keep a list of the stuff you read (organized by date/media type and possibly with keywords if you want it to be useful longterm)#(or a spreadsheet even if you're like me and rabidly consume short stories/comics like a pack of amnesiac piranhas on a feeding frenzy)#(that stuff PILES UP over the years ok. if you wanna make sure you'll be able to find it again a decade later--curation is key)#because art WILL touch your soul and then vanish into the void leaving naught but a 404 Error in its wake#i am an old man shaking my fist at the kids on my lawn but the kids on my lawn are me and my longterm digital planning skills circa 2012

Just deleted the ask I was trying to respond to, but re: "skeptics always die in horror movies" - I have mixed feelings on that trope!
On the one hand I think it sets the tone and helps the audience suspend their disbelief - people are always complaining about horror movie characters being idiots, so this can be a way to be like "see? We DID consider rational explanations, and then someone immediately got murdered very supernaturally, so stop asking questions and accept the premise."
On the other hand, I think it definitely contributes to the idea that skeptics are close-minded killjoys who are too stubborn to accept reality, which is a very common and incredibly annoying mindset. Shane Madej did not spend the last eight years marching into haunted houses and loudly demanding that the demons inside kill him for me to still be hearing shit about how "if you don't take the supernatural seriously you will Attract Evil Energies And Die".
#i also can't stand the 'you're acting like a white person in a horror movie!' thing. bestie that was a movie😔it was fictional😔#there's that one really long twitter post by a white lady detailing how she almost bought a haunted house#and listing all the spooky details she didn't even notice until her husband was like 'we are not buying the haunted house'#then bitch move over!!! SOME of us can appreciate having weird creepy heavily-locked doors in our basement#or at the very least we'd open the door. the fact that every archaeologist in the world isn't dead is a good sign demon curses aren't real#skepticism umbrella

Honesty hours: I've been working a summer job at a bookstore for almost two months now. Here are the books I will discreetly shake my head at customers for buying. My literary red flags, if you will.
Anything tarot
Particular romance and romantasy novels that I've been told are basically just soft erotica (ACOTAR being the most popular)
Harlequins, which apparently still exist
Colleen Hoover
The Colleen Hoover merch we sell for some godforsaken reason
Heaven is For Real, When God Winks at You, and other theologically sketchy but inexplicably popular books. I'm always internally thinking, "oh honey, no!"
Giant stack of self help books combined with books from the business section. This suggests a very particular type of person. This type of person scares me.
Especially that one book we have about how to become a "superior man" (??)
More than one book by James Patterson. One book is forgivable; multiple suggests you follow him as an author
More than one book by Danielle Steel (same reason)
Parents buying their kids books that are just "Adult Thing: For Kids!" Like we have a picture book that's called "A Day at Dunder Mifflin" or the one adapted from the Dumb and Dumber movies and I'm like. Don't you think your kid would prefer something that's actually for them??
That guy who bought the collected writings of Lenin, the poetic writings of Mao, and a giant, thousand-page biography of Che Guevara all in one go. You okay there buddy?
#not trying to start anything just thought this crowd might appreciate this#if you're not familiar with Danielle Steel (i wasn't really before i started working here) she's basically just patterson ~for her~#suspiciously prolific (ie definitely using ghostwriters)#never leaves the top ten of the bestseller list (ie definitely putting a thumb on the scales)#and so insanely popular that we have to stock everything she's ever written in favor of other stuff#just to explain that one#i feel like the rest are pretty self explanatory#anyway. it's a fun summer job. but at the same time I feel very aware of the fact that my literary tastes place me in a minority#even among my coworkers#¯\_(ツ)_/¯#pontifications and creations

I haven't read these books at all, but your art is so fun and cute that I like seeing your comics a lot regardless. Fantastic Silly Little Guy energy.
Thank you for enjoying my silly little guys and my comics B*)
#ask#non mdzs#Do I tag sockpuppet wangxian? maybe not.#Truly; Thank you. The ability to draw silly little guys is one that has brought me a lot of joy!#I started this project as a way to get into the habit of drawing so I could learn.#Knowing that my comics are enjoyable even for those who 'don't go here' really is a high complement for me.#This ask is also doubly funny because I also have not read these books. I have only enjoyed them as a show/audio drama.#There was also an artist who did a recap of another book by the authour who had not seen the series and boy it was good.#that was @tempo-takoyaki if you're curious!#Long and short of it all: I think art and comics are a really wonderful media to engage with. Everyone should draw comics#Question asker has a comic too: Lovespells has really cute art and it's on my to read list now B*)

The way this adaptation hit all the big lore and plot points but also made time for the tiniest details that spoke so much about the characters was honestly so great to see, the show creators obviously had so much understanding and respect for the original source material, which is so rare nowadays.
#lockwood & co#lockwood and co#lockwood and co netflix#you're on my permanent shit list netfix#cant imagine why any creators working for you would even want to turn out good material when there's no application of it#someone took time to write this into the script#to stage and act and frame and film it#for what? to just be cancelled#depressing how little work is appreciated#lockwoodlibrary

Our little melusine creator needs some new clothes, let's give them a new one shall we
Melusine!creator is finally able to walk around the city of fontaine, yay! With a disguise of course.
Walking around the city with Ajax and legacy in his mini size, very convenient. Passing by the chioriya boutique (love me some chiori moment) Ajax decided 'lets get them something in here because why not'
Walking in to the boutique chiori immediately realizes who reader's are but stayed quiet and greeted them. Ajax practically BEGGED reader to get anything that they would like
In the end get a bunch of accesories to share with their siblings and one single clothing of their choice
(now i beg of you to do the rest with your ideas, im out of it now😔)
you are RIGHT and you should SAY IT!!! Melusine Creator gets a new garment hehe
it's less in need of a disguise and more getting over your fear of crowds and people, to go to Fontaine. most won't spare a glance towards another Melusine- the humans never keep track of them, anyways- and if all else fails, Ajax can simply don his Harbinger cloak and hide you in the fabric as he walks. it earns him a few stares, but honestly it's the most fun he's ever had on any type of "mission". yes, you'll probably be fine even outside of the coat, and the Iudex was always willing to shoo people away if needed, but Ajax is feeling mischievous today. he smuggles you into the city and scampers off towards the Chioriya Boutique- he's never been there himself, but locals have told him it's the best place in the Court for beautiful, cutting-edge fashion
you peek out of the cloak, tail wagging as you wander about, admiring the shimmering, elegant fabrics. there's a hum of greeting as Chiori comes to the front, a few pins still secured in her dress, her gaze scanning the shop before settling on you
she blinks. Ajax blinks. you also blink, but at the hat you're contemplating. Chiori glances at the Harbinger, gesturing urgently between you and him without a word. Ajax merely shakes his head and puts a finger to his lips, smiling when you hold up a small ribbon for him to inspect. to her own credit, Chiori recovers quickly, giving you a small nod of respect and taking your measurements as if you're just anyone else. she keeps a close eye on you, the soft scars that cover your body, the Harbinger who explores at your side, and she frowns. how much have you been through? she never kept up with the hunts. at least she can provide this for you, multiple little bows and bracelets for your siblings, and one neatly tailored coat for you, much like Ajax's own
#genshin impact#childe#tartaglia#foul legacy#foul legacy childe#genshin tartagalia#genshin childe#genshin tartaglia#sagau#genshin sagau#add chiori to your list of unlikely friends!!#she can hide you in a bundle of fabrics#and ajax thinks you're sooooooo cute#little melusine harbinger coat!#short scenario#other's stuff#good evening#chit chat#anon

yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason
side note this reply of someone going "umm just get loans and go into a high paying field it's easy XD" as a direct response to someone trying to explain how most americans joining the military are being funneled in that direction out of a need for money.
and another person who Decided that americans join the military just CLENCHING their teeth thinking of other people, and not thinking completely selfishly about their own selves and their own income/housing/healthcare.
#I had a longer post w more bullshit in it but ukw nobody's even gonna read THIS one. so.#dumb ass cunts seriously LMAO just the individualism of it all....#we're all just selectively forgetting that most people join the military straight out of high school / after failing to kickstart#their lives so they don't know shit yet and they are categorically not educated and don't have money#you NEED money and have been groomed by recruiters ALREADY into believing this is#The Best and Only to make a survivable amount of money without a college education-- bc they can't afford college btw#and they don't want to take on student debt either bc everyone already knows what a big fuckeroo that is#recruiters WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET YOU TO JOIN. they will KEEP CALLING YOU. they'll answer your questions#to make it sound like this is going to be a GREAT life decision. you can get all KINDS of jobs (true)#they love to say the thing about how only about 15% of the military will actually see combat in any way#they love to list all the jobs where you will literally just be working at an office or a pharmacy or in tech etc etc etc#the recruiters are offering housing healthcare steady pay and BONUSES if you sign on for longer.#so you let your guard down because you were so scared of the actual fighting. BECAUSE YOU'RE 18 IN THIS SCENARIO BTW.#you cunts will not meet anyone who hates the military as much as people who are NOW DONE working in the military#you don't know enough when they get you and then either you stay placated by the benefits or you scramble away as fast as possible#the number one military haters are people who know what goes on bc they already did it#source: I LIVE NEXT TO A MILITARY BASE LMAO PEOPLE HATE IT HERE!! they are NORMAL PEOPLE#I need you to get it into your head that the people committing atrocities in war were NORMAL when they joined#and that for every person in the military who's actively shedding blood there's 20 who do PAPERWORK#and they both are being put in the same category by you!! and they are BOTH being controlled by the same system!!#sergle.txt#I hate yall I really do.

I went to see an opera about the jazz age and then, while biking back home, stopped dead to listen to some performers at a street fair sing "Dust in the Wind"---at least, before they lurched into a laughing "Happy Birthday" at the crowd's request. I pedaled the rest of the way home singing to myself, so actually, everything in the world is wonderful and good. I can't believe my brain repeatedly tricks me into thinking otherwise.
#you know how I wrote that post about the pit of despair?#what that post doesn't explore is how giddy and joyful you feel once you're out of the pit.#once you're in the sunshine listening to someone play the electric violin it's the highest high you can imagine#it's better than drugs. it's better than sex. I am only just keeping myself from weeping out of sheer abject joy.#I got drinks with old handsome boss; I met with a former coworker for breakfast#I went to museums. I went to the opera. I cleaned my apartment. I even did work!#(also I finally got a drink at the schlitz tied house! that's been on my bucket list for a while now)#to live in the world and occasionally be reminded of how much there is in it is......well. it's all and everything.#celestial emporium of benevolent knowledge

Btw for everyone worried about maia arson crimew's safety or it getting arrested, I'm not saying don't be bc anything can happen but maia is, for one thing, Swiss-- I think a lot of people assume it's American? And in Switzerland you cannot be extradited to be tried for foreign crimes without your consent. Furthermore tbh the no fly list thing was hardly even a hack-- it was found on an unsecured server through an online device search engine. maia said itself on its blog that all it took was the patience to scroll through the different servers and folders. So it would be pretty hard to convict maia of a crime here, the fault actually lies with the airline company that had the list on an unsecured server. Mainly what maia would need to worry about would be prosecution for its hack of Verkada two years ago and again, given Swiss extradition laws it is relatively safe.
#a lot of people were tagging my posts like 'oh god I hope they're safe whu are they posting online they should be in hiding'#and Im not goimg to say its advisable to be posting your face around when you're an enemy of the US#but I think it will be fine#it didnt even post the list publically and is mostly only disclosing it to journalists#i talk#maia arson crimew

imagining the story from pei ming's perspective is rlly funny i think. this god from all that time ago ascends again (you were there for the first two times) and immediately waltzes into a situation that fucks something up for your descendant (putting both of your reputations on the line, messing up how hard your descendant worked to become a god and how hard you worked to ensure that he would have that chance) and then refuses to let you smooth the situation out and on TOP of that your friend's little sister (who hates you and who you are trying to look out for by request of your friend) is on your case about it too. so you've gotta work all that out and then like. you chill for a little bit (still kind of upset about your descendant) until your friend undergoes a heavenly calamity. and then in the space of like A Day the god from earlier shows up again with a fucking ghost king, your friend dies, the little sister you're supposed to be looking out for disappears, and everything just kinda goes to shit. so you're like. grieving. trying to process everything. until your OTHER close friend goes off the fucking rails with the spirit of that guy she murdered, and then you get called out to the spooky ghost mountain where you're confronted with the girl whose death YOU were essentially responsible for and have never really come to terms with, and then like. you just kind of hang out with these gay people until everything resolves itself. fight some ghosts. fight the heavenly emperor. get your friend to stop being evil for a little while so she can fix the filing systems. and then you just have to keep being the god of love i guess
#characters who are so related and yet so unrelated to the story my beloveds#is he really necessary to the story. no! he's so essential to me though#nobody talks about the tragedy of the three tumors... i know it's cause they're awful but c'mon guys...#these three people who only have each other... pei ming losing both of them one after another in their own way...#i think he's probably pretty chill about ling wen being evil. i don't remember how he responds but i don't think he's that worried.#but still. that's two for two on the 'people i care about getting fucked up somehow' list#and then the kid that you're supposed to be emergency older brother to fucking DISAPPEARS.#so you can't even follow through on your promise to your dead friend...#shaking my computer. do you all understand how i feel#pei ming posting tonight. so many thoughts but so little expressed in the pei ming posting#too sleempy... will return to thoughts later#i am going to become the pei ming poster of all time. just watch me#talking#tgcf#pei ming#tian guan ci fu

teen wolf meme: [4/6] creatures -> chimeras
You found the perfect word, though, Scott... Because a Chimera isn't just a monster with different parts. It can also mean something impossible to achieve. An unrealizable dream.
#teen wolf#theo raeken#tracy stewart#hayden romero#corey bryant#twedit#twgifs#mine#my gifs#twmeme#YIPEEE#the chimeras were actually first on my list of creatures but i was procrastinating them since they don't have a page in the bestiary#which meant i had to figure smth else out for that middle gif so as you can see you're just getting some dread doctor shenanigans#anyways i love them all soooooo much#like especially what they mean as like a theme within teen wolf#i've rambled about how much i love when supernatural shows bring in scientific stuff before and as a result how much i love 5a#AND THAT EXTENDS TO THE CHIMERAS#they're all also fucked in the head <3#found family but your family fucking sucks#also i feel like this is the right place to say this but i don't get it when people act like we don't know what corey is#just because the show never had anyone explicitly say that he's part ghost rider the narrative literally serves it to you on a platter#like we literally see him being able to enter the ghost rider dimension what's ambiguous about that#oh but they never said it in the dialogue#yeah well they also called jackson a snake for an entire season even though he very much looks like a reptile he literally has legs#these people are not smart
