There's so many different ways to tackle something like this.
You could really be anyone.
A sibling, a favorite servant, a knight, anyone.
No matter who you are, you're stuck in this realm-wide tug-of-war game.
These two are not only fighting for succession now... but you.
One's the queen of Dragonstone, the other the king of King's Landing.
Honestly... you are in such a bad position no matter where you go or who you are.
You're caught in the middle of a war where both sides have dragons.
I bet that if they both like someone, said person's going to have the entirety of Team Black/Green breathing down their neck.
After all Rhaenyra leads The Blacks, Aegon leads The Greens.
With one order, you could be abducted for either side.
That's probably the scariest part of their rivalry.
You have no power in this situation, they do.
Which means just about anything can happen.
That's also the reason there's just... so much potential for this idea that I'm not even sure if I can cover it all.
Considering what both royals go through, they can both get unhinged.
They have both lost children to each other and they're only going to stop fighting when one of them is dead.
When I think of the obsession for this idea, my mind goes to a sibling or knight.
That way you'd still have somewhat of a connection with both sides.
Perhaps you're a sibling of either Rhaenyra and Aegon that gets caught up in the civil war... only to realize both royals want you for one reason or another.
Or maybe you're a knight (regardless of gender, they had both) who served Viserys.
Then when the war begins, you're torn between Rhaenyra and Aegon, both royals offering you the position of their personal protector (Kingsguard/Queensguard).
You most likely knew them before the civil war happened.
Then it develops into some sort of custody battle for the rivalry.
The alternative is you go with one side willingly and the other takes you hostage.
Then during your time as a hostage, the leader of the side who took you becomes obsessive until your side takes you back.
That's another way you can get them both to like you.
Now, in terms of yandere behavior?
Aegon is naturally hedonistic and would lean more towards romantic tendencies.
He can be both intimidating yet also pathetic with his obsession, often clinging to them and not afraid of executing those who get too close.
You're never far from his sight as his obsession, the king thrives off your care.
As king, Aegon feels he should get what he wants and be smothered in affection, he should always get what he wants.
He's only vulnerable with you... he needs you.
He needs a connection with you.
Rhaenyra is protective and more calculating than her half-brother.
For the most part she can keep her cool and her obsession can go either platonic or romantic.
For the first portion of the war she's calm, yet would fear people are trying to steal or kill her beloved as the war goes on due to trust issues and assassination attempts.
Although they both deal with such a thing.
Rhaenyra's used to the world being against her since she was young.
With her obsession, she feels she can at least trust someone.
She values loyalty between her and her obsession, making them sacrifice everything to dedicate themselves to her in the end.
Both royals utilize psychological and emotional manipulation to try and garner your loyalty.
Aegon lays the charm on thick... Rhaenyra often promises protection for your dedication.
The two have loyal members on their side that would listen to their every order.
I can actually see them both imprisoning their obsession if you're already with a side.
Rhaenyra no doubt sends Daemon to recruit/take you in for The Blacks on top of Caraxes.
Aegon may be less willing if you were already a Green supporter, but if you're with The Blacks he'll order Aemond to hunt you down and imprison you.
You'll get a cozy chambers with both of them, even if it is your prison.
This is another rivalry where I feel one of them is going to die in the end.
Whoever wins this Civil War also gets to have you.
There's no running, after all, how can you?
There's nowhere to go.
You could probably even go to the North and still have someone rat you out.
The two sides brew in tension as they take each other out.
Many common folk whisper rumors about the fact both sides are fighting over one person.
They mutter about your importance, both out of pity and bitterness.
Meanwhile, as you watch the carnage play out and are often tossed from cell to cell, you want nothing to do with any Targaryen.
Get used to dragon back, you're going to be on dragon back a lot.
You know blood is being spilled primarily for control, that this is a battle about succession.
Yet you also fear lives are being lost because you're involved, even if you don't want to be.
When you're with The Greens, Aegon often is seen with an arm around your waist.
In private he wants to trust you, to get affection he couldn't get from even the brothels.
When you're with The Blacks, Rhaenyra keeps you close yet under watch.
She provides hospitality and her affection is welcoming with friendly touches.
She respects you as long as you respect her, similar to Aegon, yet she fears you'll turn on her the longer you're with The Greens.
Aemond and Daemon are definitely doing the dirty work for their king/queen respectively.
They're the ones primarily spilling blood and sending spies to keep an eye on you.
However... Aegon and Rhaenyra wouldn't mind personally dealing with threats, Aegon especially, despite Aemond's protests.
Would things get gorey? Yeah.
Both sides would mount heads on pikes just to get a message across.
Their fight over you and succession would continue until near the end of the war.
By this point, most of their relatives are gone.
Rhaenyra just has her son, and Aegon's nearly alone.
The conclusion of the war is (un)fortunately also the conclusion of your own fate.
With wounded dragons, the two are prepared to end things.
The amount of blood doesn't matter to them.
They don't even care if the blood of their enemy gets on you.
All that matters is you.
The end of the war may mean you're no longer tugged between two royals...
But it certainly does not grant you any sort of freedom either.

The Sonic community has an issue with calling every relationship a "sibling" relationship when the relationship is literally just friendship or companionship.
Like, I don't even know if a lot of people really understand what it is like to grow up with siblings by the way they slap the label on everything.
Take it from me: I'm an identical twin, so for my entire life from even before birth I was sharing a space with my twin. As adults, we have chilled out considerably and I consider her my closest connection now, but there was a LOT of growing pains with a lot of fighting before that.
There were times that we didn't even want anything to do with each other which was difficult because other people kind of treated us as a match set. The point is that we sorted out our differences and conflicts because we had to since we shared a home and even shared a room for many many years. People see us now as insanely close but they never saw the biting, hitting, yelling and tears that preceded that.
For people around the same age, I would consider a sibling bond as those who sorted out their differences in time.
As for siblings with larger age gaps, there's a bit of a different dynamic. Sometimes older siblings have to act as parents to their little siblings for instance, but there is still a difference between them and a simple friendship or companionship.
Yes, there are siblings out there who never really had much conflict growing up, but it is more likely than not to have conflict due to the situation of sharing a space for many years. There isn't often much opportunity to have time apart when you have to share a home.
So to me, a good sibling bond is one built on past tension that has resolved simply due to time. We laugh about our past spats because we see them as insignificant now and sometimes we can't even remember what the conflict was in the first place.
Even if a friendship or companionship appears similar in shape to a sibling bond, that doesn't mean that it is a sibling bond. There will always be overlap among good platonic and sibling relationships simply because they are not romantic.
It's fine to hold headcanons about characters where you consider them like family to each other, but it is absolutely unacceptable to go around imposing that headcanon on others who see the relationship differently. You have all the control you need to curate your online experience through blocking people or content you don't want to see and simply not engaging with it. To do otherwise and whine at people minding their business is incredibly infantile, and I have to wonder if those who do this have nothing important going on in their lives.
Even for stuff that really rubs me the wrong way like "twincest", I don't engage with people who post content like that because I just do not want to see it and I have more going on in my life to spend time obsessing over it. Yes, I find it gross, but I can avoid it so I don't have to see it. I'm sure people who are getting twisted over ships that aren't even incest can learn to curate their online experience so they simply don't engage with or even see what they don't like.

BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN INSTILLED IN HIM TO PRIORTIZE DUTY ABOVE ALL ELSE, CAIUS HAD NEVER REALLY BOTHERED TO EVEN GLANCE HUMANITY'S WAY, IN ANY LIFETIME. he did not see the point in making his presence known to them. ethan was the opposite. he’d shattered the chains of his oppression formed by his creators, which had been suffocating him in more ways than one. he’d disobeyed his creators' direct, absolute laws by singlehandedly granting humans the ability to feel emotion & to think for themselves, to break free from the mindlessness of being first & second’s creations always at their beck & call. he'd been the sole benefactor of the soul's creation to what its known as today by humanity… & every life-form across the multiverse.
while ethan had been partaking in that disobedience streak, caius had been trying to put an end to cyule's multiple eon-long war, with no luck. the war had been ethan’s unintentional doing upon abandoning their galaxy. caius does not hold it against him. nor does selena. unlike the majority of his dimension, he understands that first & second are worse monsters, so abandoning the galaxy he’d created had been a necessary evil.
but despite that, one will have to forgive him for holding very little care for humanity, or any version of earth.
he knows that @vipersunion has a deep connection to ethan. he’s aware they view each other as siblings - a move that surprised him. it’s one that is echoed by several of his other friends, like shadow & gray. with third’s siblings’ detachment & loathing for their eldest brother, why ethan would ever wllingly seek out that type of platonic companionship from any human is... perplexing, to say the least. from an objective standpoint, it might be construed as a lapse of judgement on ethan’s part. getting wrapped up with humanity or viewing them in any way other than nothing of note seems… equal parts inconsequential & unnecessary.
in spite of this, the why of ethan’s & her relationship warrants none of the prince’s concern. from his point of view, humans are born, they grow up, they die in a significantly short span of time. many do not shift the dirt it takes to bury them, & the march of time ever presently looks over their heads. but, as nonhumans, ethan & the rest of them do not die in a short amount of time, if at all. it’s a fact. some die too early, or by forces just out of ethan’s control, specifically. it’s unfortunate that ethan's darling nessa has had the threads of her lifeyarn cut too early in many universes. a part of him wonders if he's ever told robby about nessa, & what she means to him.
he pushes his musings out of his head when he senses talia moving towards the weapons cache. by the time it takes her to rush up to him, he’s just about finished wiping off the flecks of holy water from his forehead. thank humanity’s god it hadn’t been someone else, like one of their wolf allies. as it stands, he’s just a little annoyed. had he been anything but a tribrid from another universe entirely, he’d have been killed for sure.
❝ you need not worry, talia. based on the accumulation of dust present, this cache of mrs. pantazis’s items has not been accessed in eight human decades. ❞ he calmly informs her, even as he pulls the silver-&-dead-man’s-blood-&-holy-water-purified wooden stake out of his torso without a peep. there’s more enchantments on the stake, but like the others, those do not slow caius down. he & ethan are in a bit of an anomaly in that sense.. as are everyone else. it's an unspoken agreement between everyone: never reveal your true natures to the others. they know not of how their friends would react in this universe... except for one, & caius remembers very vividly the fact that that reveal hadn't gone over well.
caius's injuries heal in less time than it takes one to blink. he closes his eyes for a few beats, then reopens them. ❝ no humans nor creatures have been here. ❞ he does not blame the first witch for being overly cautious - it’s precisely why he asked talia to scope out the area surrounding the storage unit for hunters who may have followed them. her getting injured would have been unfortunate. other traps such as the one that ❛ injured ❜ him, though... the idea that harm could potentially befalls makes him hesitant to allow her inside. unless...
❝ hold for a few moments. ❞ caius tells her suddenly, then goes quiet so he can concentrate. the shadows around him instantly bend to his will. eerie ink black streams which move similarly to snakes are expelled outwards, quickly seeking out any other traps eumelia may have set throughout the room. the shadows do find three more traps, & set them off accordingly. a holy water flashbang sounds, causing the room to white-out for a moment, & moments later, three more of those stakes, which remain embedded in the wall in three places: the head, the heart, & the legs. there's a spike trap where one would have stepped. had talia triggered it, it would have detached her legs from her body, killing her.
emma, icarus, ethan & charlie hadn't been messing around in the slightest when creating the traps for the storage spaces. it's why the eldritch friend group have split up to be with one group each, to prevent their non-eldritch friends' deaths while checking in on eumelia's caches. eumelia herself went with robby, sam, miguel & tory, very well knowing that if anything happened to them, he'd lose his mind. ethan isn't with anyone, strangely enough.
he drops the stake from his hand, finding no use in keeping it around. another shadow from behind his back circles around his larger set of wings. the shadow brings him the clean towel from the open window of the black passenger side's suv, which charlie had told him to bring with him, specifically to clean his blood from his hands. after he confirms there are no more traps to be triggered, he kicks the stake away from him with the side of his foot, watching the dust particles rise from the floor as proof.
❝ we are safe to enter the room, ms. talia. we may look around to confirm the status of the items. ❞ with that, the tribrid walks further into the storage until, eyeing the various anti-supernatural creature wardings & ancient greek runes carved onto the wall, including the anti-demon sigils. he recognizes a handful of anti-eldritch symbols, but those look so out of place it causes him to briefly pause. he calmly steps over the anti-demon sigils, too, carefully perusing the shelves to take inventory of the items. he moves so silently that his footsteps are not audible. rows & rows of metal shelves hold a variety of items, which do not have dust coating them. the sigils & symbols carved into the metal shelves glow a faint blue whenever he runs his black-gloved fingertips across them. possibly reacting to a non-human entity touching the metal. it does not burn, thankfully.
❝ eumelia’s grimoires & various items remain intact. nothing has been stolen. ❞ he notes, then repeats his findings over a quick text to the pack’s group chat, continuing to move along the rows. he’s near the back of the building, where the oldest materials have been stored. just as he hits send on the text, though, something catches his eye. he pockets his phone & abruptly stops in front of one of the shelves, which is labeled ORIGINAL INCARNATION. eumelia’s first life, prior to the perpetual reincarnation curse. icarus & charlie must have saved hundreds of random items that eumelia doesn't have on-hand. all are in perfect condition, miraculously enough. ( surely, emma’s eldritch friends must have had everything to do with the preservation of the items. ) he glances down at one of the items on the middle shelves: a small, flat, golden circular disk. it sort of resembles an old compact mirror from the 1900s era. but unlike those, it looks almost unearthly with the way the metal shines in the light, there’s a name engraved on top of the lid, which he also recognizes. he drums his fingers along the top of it, his face as serious as ever.
without elaborating on what the item is, he slides the disk into the pocket of his long black peacoat, then looks at a handful of other items lining the shelves. they’re all in good condition, notwithstanding time. he looks down at her, his face devoid of emotion, as per usual.
❝ tell me, have you noticed ethan has been acting largely unlike himself lately? eumelia's grimoires being stolen warrants immense concern for the welfare of the entire pack & the natural world, should her items fall into the wrong hands. however, ethan seems... ❞ caius pauses to search for the right word, his fingertips smoothing down the hem of his black shirt, ❝ intensely fixated. i have spoken to our friends who are closest with him. ethan has been pulling away from them lately, too. it is not just me. has your brother, ❞ his lip curls faintly around the word, & its spoken like its meant to burn, to wound, ❝ said anything to you directly about why he is so concerned? ❞

This POST is so true. I believe that any sane human being wishes happiness to his fellow men (and even though Holmes-Watson are fictional characters, our mind interprets their emotions as if they were real, which is why we cry in sad movies/series/books).
I think it's natural to root for Sherlock's happiness, and it's evident that he loves and needs John Watson by his side to be happy (a little too dependent, I would say, when his happiness is conditioned to a person). With Holmes it is even worse, given that he is someone so rational and logical, considering that the only person he has really been attached to is John Watson, must torment Holmes too much when he is alone, after all.
As much as Conan Doyle insisted on only one thing when William Gillette was hired to play Holmes in the theater: "there is no love interest on the part of Sherlock Holmes" (contrary to what many adaptations suggest, he was never romantically involved, not even with Irene Adler).
Doyle, willingly or not, by making Sherlock "eccentric" and apparently Asexual opened the door to A LOT of speculation, given that he made Holmes a character who flees Heteronormativity (at a time when not being straight was punishable by the State).
But it is clear that over time Holmes developed feelings for Watson, after all why was he so cranky about Watson leaving him? When you are only friends, it is to be expected that the other will one day be able to marry. As Holmes does not congratulate him, it is evident that he appreciated having Watson solely by his side. Look what he says:
"The good Watson had at that time deserted me for a wife, the only selfish action I can recall in our association. I was alone". - Arthur Conan Doyle, The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes.
Watson, unlike Holmes, showed an interest in women. But I always imagined that her need to be with someone was driven by her fear of being alone.
In A Study in Scarlat Watson claims to have a bulldog puppy, however this dog is never mentioned again (if I remember correctly). Watson mentions in the first chapter how lonely he was and had no acquaintances in London and how much he enjoyed company, I like to think he acquired the little dog to assuage his loneliness and donated it to someone else as soon as he moved to Baker Street. Sherlock showed no problem with the dog when Watson mentioned him, but I think John saw no further need for the canine companionship.
In Sign of The Four we discover early on that Watson's father and brother died, both falling from alcohol, and there is no mention of his mother. And see that Mary Morstan is also an orphan of both father and mother and has no siblings. I like to think their relationship, part of their attraction, was because they were alone in the world and the desire to start a family was too concrete for people as lonely as they were.
After Mary's supposed death in "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" (as John is in mourning), Watson moves back in with Holmes, for years. And they fit very well together!! That is, until...
I like to think that Sherlock was already considering retiring, and Watson feared he didn't know where would fit into this new life for Holmes, who fearing would be alone again Watson used his "three continents Watson" beauty and charms to get a bride.
Watson strikes me as someone who hates solitude more than anything and did not want to be alone after Holmes move in to Sussex in the near future.
A funny/tragic Headcanon I have on this is that Sherlock and Watson never talked about it, but that Holmes wished his friend would go with him to Sussex, but as he didn't mention the matter as soon as possible Watson got himself a new wife, which annoys Sherlock, but he doesn't say anything for his friend's happiness.
I would say that in the books Holmes was very satisfied with his Asexual life, but it is evident, until Watson comes along and changes his life, he is at the very least platonically attached to Watson, his love is evident. But it is also apparently one-sided, the good doctor never seemed to me to realize that Holmes loved him more than a best friend, in his accounts...
The issue is that Holmes appears to be Asexual (with one exception for John Watson). And Watson might well reciprocate such a feeling, if only he were less blind -he sees but does not observe- and if Holmes had been more open in showing his emotions (recall that in the Adventure of the Three Garridebs, Watson is thrilled by Holmes showing extreme concern for him to the point of abandoning logic and threatening the "villain". This is to say that Watson was completely oblivious to the extent of Sherlock Holmes' feelings for him).
I get the feeling these two IDIOTS just didn't really get together out of sheer stupidity (in books).
(but let a girl dream, if they were involved more than friendship, Watson wouldn't tell us! Because he could not, in such an decade they was liable to be condemned by the law and be demoralized afterwards. Only years later did the relationship between two boys become acceptable under the law. I like to point out that Watson admires Holmes too much not to love him, and also his accounts are known as "unreliable" as he omits relevant information when he feels he shouldn't expose it to the public).
The resume is: We already have so many adaptations, and in almost all of them Holmes ends up alone! Like The original work/books! (Okay, so in the book, he stays with his bees... sees Watson occasionally. Technically, after the "His Last Bow, epilogue" we don't know what happened to them).
Like good people we just wanted to see them happy in the end, not lonely or distant (Sound like it sounds, I'm not a masochist, so of course I always wished that Johnlock could achieve happiness together, at least in some convincing adaptation).
You have to understand the reason I need a canon Johnlock in some series or another it's because in BBC Sherlock their unspoken feelings are making them miserable and then in the RDJ movies Watson's marriage is making Sherlock miserable and then in Private Life of Sherlock Holmes Sherlock's unrequited feelings for John are making him miserable and then in Mr. Holmes John got married and then died leaving Sherlock alone and in the Baker Street Irregulars John's unrequited feelings for Sherlock are making him miserable and then in the canon itself John supposedly leaves Sherlock more or less alone especially as they age and it's just like!!! It's too much homoerotic subtext followed by unspoken unhappiness. i want Resolution. I want Resolution!

“Harry and Hermione are platonic soulmates” “Hermione is Harry’s best friend” okay but like..... is she though? Like yes they’re close friends but Ron is 100% the glue that holds the group together and whenever Harry is alone with Hermione he just seems bored and talks about how he misses Ron and I the reader am also bored and miss Ron. Ron is Harry’s best friend. Ron is the person Harry would miss more than anybody else in the world. Ron is the person Harry loves more than anyone else in the world. Hermione is Harry’s close friend, Ron is Harry’s platonic soulmate. Harry is Hermione’s close friend, but Ron is the love of her life.
To be completely honest, I never really felt anything special between Hermione and Harry. And part of it is due to Harry being extremely detached from people, he’s super cold. He rarely tells us about how he feels about people, mostly he observes how people react around him, and he has this... subtle entitlement? Like, Harry tends to complain about how blah blah fame sucks and he hates it, but at the same time he certainly doesn’t complain when he gets preferrential treatment, and at times even seems offended when he doesn’t get any. He kind of expects his friends to be always 100% down with his ideas and endlessly supportive, and sure he protests and goes “no I must do this alone because I’m a danger to you all” but at the same time when Ron was calling him out on his nonexistent plan for the Horcrux Hunt he sure was quick to go all “how dare you question me!”.
As such... Harry feels really detached and cold, and when I read the series, I end up thinking of him and Hermione more as coworkers working together to attain the same objective than as actual friends. They get excited about big breakthroughs in their cases, they share coffee breaks together and stuff, but... there’s not much else. There’s not... some sense of companionship, of being able to stay in a room together without feeling awkward... I really don’t see “friends”. It’s funny, but “siblings” may actually be the best moniker to put on their relationship, because after all you don’t have to love or care about your sibling.
Harry feels closer to Ron, to a point that I would actually call them true friends, and I certainly love their bond and bromance... but I still can’t shake the feeling that Ron’s giving much more than he’s receiving in this friendship. No wonder the poor guy needed a break at times.
Anyway. Even if you can justify it by his abusive childhood and trauma, Harry’s still kind of a cold bastard and I honestly don’t think he’s a good friend. Truth is, many readers are blinded by the fact that he’s “The Boy Who Lived” and so hype and so they think that obviously, it automatically means he’s a great friend to Ron and Hermione... hes not? I mean, sure he’s ~sassy~ and whatever but, no, sorry, that’s not enough to make me want to be friends with someone.
(Especially since the ~sassy~ bit can be downright hurtful, too. I mean, think of how many people think of Hermione’s “emotional range of a teaspoon” line is ~iconic~. But had it been spoken to Harry, I don’t think Harmony shippers would have been pleased by it.)
Frankly I think Harry’s coldness is not just a character problem, it’s also very much a Rowling problem. She has problems with empathy sometimes, especially towards characters she seems to deem as “lesser” in her mind - side characters, one-off characters, throwaway characters and such. Like, Hermione’s parents are SO important... that she doesn’t even consider them human beings, instead uses them as narrative tools to showcase Hermione’s “bravery”:
Yes, her sacrifice was massive, completely. A very calculated act of bravery. That is not an ‘in the moment’ act of bravery where emotion carries you through, that is a deliberate choice.
I’m sure Hermione’s parents were delighted to be stripped of their entire mind, life story, identity and sense of self as “proof” that their daughter is brave. Not like we already know Hermione is brave. Not like she was member of the House of the Brave or anything like it. We absolutely needed two innocent non-magical people who couldn’t fight back against magic to be destroyed mentally to showcase what a brave person Hermione is.
Rowling does that with so many characters. She has this twisted sense of justice, of morality, honestly kind of akin to that of teenager’s. Marietta Edgecombe’s scarring feels like a pissed-off kid’s revenge fantasy - Rowling said “I loathe a traitor”, but then you realize that Marietta got a worse punishment even than Peter Pettigrew! Peter gets to slightly redeem himself just before dying in front of Harry and Ron (who even try to save him!!!) but Marietta’s the one who’s gonna have to deal with weird looks all her life due to a disfiguring scar on her face! And you’d think that Mister “I have a scar on my face that people stare at and it makes me uncomfortable :(” himself, Mister “I have a new scar on my hand that a horrible woman inflicted to be as punishment for misbehaviour”, MISTER HARRY FREAKIN’ POTTER WOULD HAVE ENOUGH SENSE TO REALIZE THE SIMILARITIES, but alas. In the same book Rowling had her favourite character emulate the character she had created to be the most despicable person in existence... I wonder if anyone ever told her?

Zagr for the ship ask 😤😤😤 every single one bitch
I cannot believe you have bombarded me like this. Appalled. Insulted. Astounded.
Please enjoy my entire analysis of my fictional totally canonical ship.
PRE-RELATIONSHIP
1. How did they first meet?
Dib, but also school.
2. What was their first impression of each other?
I think they're both initially incredibly dismissive of one another. Zim thinks the entire fate of the Armada's reputation lying on his shoulders, and Gaz really has too many personal problems even as a kid to deal with; neglectful Dad, overprotective, stupid brother, etc.
3. Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?
Okay so hear me out; I think Skoodge and Professor Membrane would be so obnoxious in the best way. And Gir, whenever his attention span lets him remember long enough to scream about it. But I think Membrane would be chipper about Gaz finding someone, even long before she admits she's even interested, and Skoodge would want Zim to be happy and is unconditionally supportive, especially when Zim is mopey whenever his advances are rebuffed.
4. Who felt romantic feelings first?
Honestly, I love a Zim simp, but I genuinely think it'd be Gaz. Zim is obviously a Defect capable of feeling a larger range of emotions than other Irkens, but he still didn't receive socialization that makes 'romantic rituals' in any way natural to him. So I think Gaz and him would buddy up platonically and casually, initially, until she realizes she likes his company a little too much and freaks out about it.
5. Did either of them try to resist their feelings?
Gaz does, 100%, and she's way more stubborn about it then Zim. I think Zim's denial is just that he doesn't "get" romance (see above) and what's going on with him, but once he understands he's fully down to bombard Gaz with affection, flirtations, and other over-the-top simp behavior until she stops pretending she's not gritting her teeth while fighting a blush.
6. If you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?
Zim doesn't know what a soul is, but he does begin to understand the concept that they can be taken from human's in bargains. He becomes distracted by the topic. Bringing it up again later would have him largely dismissive.
Gaz would roll her eyes, and be extremely bitter about the idea that there is anyone 'made' for her. She's very independent, and I think someone with the sort of familial issues she does with no role model for a 'happy' family would be really resistant to being bound to someone in a way that would entitle them to her vulnerabilities. She'd be extremely resentful, dismissive, and irritable.
7. What would their lives be like if they had never met?
Really unfulfilled, listless. Without that companionship, they would never develop into people capable of meaningful relationships. I think both of them are very independent. Zim may claim he likes an audience, but there's an undeniable anxiety that he gets when faced with judgement. If it's anything but unwaveringly positive, he becomes delusional and creates a fantasy world in which everyone loves him, and the situation was just an initial misinterpretation. Gaz would have good friends, I think, but accepting Zim and his oddities and realizing she genuinely relates to someone who knows everything about her (via her brother + proximity + time) and is still here would mean a lot to her development.
GENERAL
1. Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?
Zim, without a doubt. Gaz may like Zim first, but she's completely in denial about it and completely stubborn. Zim is oblivious, and also a big ass simp, so his persistence and patience eventually gets Gaz to let her guard down and accept that she has hormones, she has romantic inclinations, and apparently they've both decided Zim is it. Time to be a big girl and accept it.
2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?
Honestly, I don't think they're the 'date' type of couple. I am probably 100% projecting since my boyfriend and I did not have an official 'date' until like 6 months into our first relationship, where we paused, turned to each other and were like 'wait is this our first date?' because we're homebodies whose idea of fun is projects. I think Zim and Gaz would hang out regularly, but it wouldn't ever be like a formal 'we are going to Bloaty's/the movies/etc as a date,' but rather 'I am going here and you are coming with me so I guess we are going together' thing. Zim doesn't get the point of a date, because if a date is by definition doing an activity together, then aren't they perpetually on a date? And Gaz isn't really a 'let's go to dinner formally' kind of person. They hang out, they go places, but it's never really a 'thing.'
3. What was their first kiss like?
I firmly believes Gaz would have to walk Zim through every aspect of physical affectionate. Zim is really wary about it, but I do think there's an instinct towards good ol' copulation, as well as a longing for positive touch after so long getting his ass whooped in the Academy, that would make him frustrated trying to figure out what this desire is. I think their first kiss is Gaz explaining to Zim, after he asks her outright what else there is after tame stuff like cuddling and hand holding, and Gaz walks him through the concept, implications, and so on until he feels ready to bravely and firmly try it.
While that does sound pretty clinical, I think actually it'd be really emotional for both of them. Zim would be really overwhelmed by how much passion is in a kiss, and Gaz would be similarly overwhelmed since, going into the relationship, she probably never anticipated Zim being interested in anything sexual, so any physical affection he expresses interest in is a surprise to her.
4. Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?
I think Gaz probably would try out a few brief relationships, but never anything substantial or dramatic. Zim's never been in a relationship, so Gaz is his first everything. I do think they'd be each other's first sexual relationship, but I think Gaz would have most of her more minimal firsts with other people prior to Zim.
5. What’s their height difference? Age difference?
Zim older. I normally write Zim as the same height as Gaz, or only a little taller. Neither of them are tall. I do respect you 'short king' stans though.
6. What’s their relationship with each other’s families?
Dib hates Zim, firmly and completely, at the beginning of their relationship. It takes a lot of self-reflection, meaningful sibling discussions, and probably a few screaming matches that eventually get to the real root of the issue (Dib's ingrained fear that something would happen to Gaz, and that it'd his fault) before he came around. Zim is a big petty bitch and would gleefully antagonize him. They would never stop sniping at each other, but they'd begrudgingly (sort of) behave for Gaz. They would eventually become frenemies and bros, but they'd die and also kill each other before admitting any sort of cordiality.
Professor Membrane adores Zim, and treats him like the son he never had/always wanted, the one who wants to have long discussions about science and can keep up with the theoreticals. Gaz hates it.
The Base and Gaz are cool. They have an understanding borne from two sentient creatures who have found themselves in the position of trying to keep Zim from killing himself, killing other people, or from coming to (too much) harm. Gaz initially hates Gir, but eventually she figures out how to get him to chill out when it's important. Minimoose and her are also cool, but he creeps Gaz out a little.
7. Who takes the lead in social situations?
Zim thinks he does, but it's really just Gaz slapping her hand over his mouth before he can say something stupid, or translating whatever nonsense just came out of his mouth when he's done talking.
8. Who gets jealous easier?
Zim. Not even a question.
9. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?
Zim. Also not even a question.
LOVE
1. Who said “I love you” first?
Gaz. Zim doesn't know what it means until she explains it. It takes him awhile to internalize it and reciprocate verbally, but Gaz is okay with that. He shows her how much he cares in other ways.
2. What are their primary love languages?
Without a doubt, Zim's is touch. Once he gets used to it, he's really greedy and possessive about proximity. Just having Gaz bump his arm is sometimes enough to set the worst of his nerves at ease.
Gaz's is acts of service. She's fine with Zim being physically clingy, but it means a lot to her how unflinching he is about protecting her, anticipating her needs, and remembering things.
3. Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?
Zim. Gaz hates them, but she tolerates it. Sometimes.
4. How often do they cuddle/engage in PDA?
Cuddling is very frequent. Zim will just sort of shift in behind Gaz if she's playing a game and cling, and she'll just keep doing what she's doing until she's eventually done and reciprocates. Explicit PDA never happens, but Zim is very clingy and physically will plant himself between Gaz and people who he's distrustful towards.
5. Who initiates kisses?
Gaz. I think Zim would cling to her like a barnacle at every opportunity, but Zim would likely usually defer to Gaz for escalating intimacy.
6. Who’s the big and little spoon?
Zim big spoon. PAK too uncomfortable to let him be the little spoon.
7. What are their favorite things to do together?
I think just being around each other while they do projects, game, etc. would be their favorite thing to do. Sharing in hobbies without feeling pressured to be entertaining, but still feeling like their presence is valued and wanted by the other.
8. Who’s better at comforting the other?
Being a people, and having more emotional competency, Gaz is better. Zim does his best though.
9. Who’s more protective?
Zim, if we're talking about quantity. Gaz, however, if we're talking about quality. Zim screams at chihuahuas for looking at Gaz, and also does protect her from genuine threats, but he overreacts frequently. Gaz, however, would know when Zim's out of his depth and would break the spine of anything that's a threat to him.
10. Do they prefer verbal or physical affection?
Physical, for both. Neither of them is really used to verbal affection, whether it be giving or receiving. It's a lot more natural to be demonstrative.
11. What are some songs that apply to their relationship, in-universe or otherwise?
Me, cackling as I copy and paste this link that I imagine is from their mutual perspectives:
https://open.spotify.com/track/4nlT0Ch4qpqoS8O1RsdzjH?si=d6d8e1e19a7d4dc7
12. What kind of nicknames do they call each other?
There's lots, and I'm sure most of them are inside jokes, but the tops are Zimmothy + Little Gaz.
13. Who remembers the little things?
It's hard to say. Zim would retain an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Gaz, and tries to spoil her and accommodate her at every opportunity, but Gaz never forgets to pack an extra umbrella and a raincoat.
DOMESTIC LIFE
1. If they get married, who proposes?
Zim.
2. What’s the wedding like? Who attends?
No one but their mutual 'families.' A very small, intimate ceremony. The reception though is massive, courtesy of Professor Membrane who has no idea how to separate his personal life with his public one.
3. How many kids do they have, if any? What are they like?
0 kiddos. Cannot product viable, compatible DNA to produce a spawn.
4. Do they have any pets?
Does Gir count?
5. Who’s the stricter parent?
If Gir is the child, Zim. Gaz will let him get away with murder, both because she can't be bothered to control him, and also because she thinks it's funny how mad Zim gets when she lets him go wild.
6. Who worries the most?
Between Gaz "apathetic is my middle name" Membrane and Invader "I have perpetual anxiety" Zim? No idea.
7. Who kills the bugs in the house?
Gir. He eats them long before anyone can find them. But both Gaz and Zim will point out any he misses.
8. How do they celebrate holidays?
Zim fucking hates Christmas, so him and Membrane get down in a bunker for it while Dib and Gaz spend some sibling time somewhere, drinking cocoa and video chatting with the respective morons. Other holidays, they basically go wherever Professor Membrane is in the world with Dib to have a 'family' holiday.
9. Who’s more likely to convince the other to come back to sleep in the morning?
Zim doesn't sleep, but he likes the resting and the peacefulness of getting to curl around Gaz in her sleep without her leaving. So him by default.
10. Who’s the better cook?
Zim has a 'kiss the chef' apron and everything.
11. Who likes to dance?
Neither of them, but Zim does 'victory dances' compulsively.

Sam and Dean are the definition of queerplatonic relationship
YES
Just to drag the point home: A queerplatonic relationship is a type of relationship that isn't sexual or romantic, but signifies a more intense level of commitment, companionship, and/or love than a platonic friendship.
Sam and Dean are exactly that. Their relationship is beyond a normal sibling relationship. They love each other more than anything in the entire world but they’re not in love with each other. But despite not being in love, there is also no one else for them. It’s always been about each other. They have always chosen each other over everyone and everything.
Dean left Lisa, Sam left Amelia, Dean killed one of his closest friends to save Sam despite Benny risking his life to help Dean through purgatory. Dean didn’t care that closing the gates of hell meant no more demons if it meant losing Sam. Dean gave in and chose not to lock himself away in the Ma’lak box because Sam asked him not to. Dean was crushed when Sam even suggested that Dean would trade Sam to get his hands on Chuck.
Sam gave up on wanting the apple pie life years prior because all he wanted was to be with his brother. He no longer wanted “normal” or “safe” he just wanted his brother. He didn’t actively pursue Eileen because he knew she wasn’t for him. Dean was the one pushing them together because he thought the apple pie life was what Sam still wanted, and although it would hurt like hell so late in the game, Dean would have let Sam go if he chose her. But Sam didn’t. Sam’s happiness has always been riding shotgun next to Dean.
I’ve been headcanoning for years that Dean is aromantic and Sam is on the asexual spectrum. Sam feels demisexual to me; it just feels right. But Dean is aro, there is no doubt about that, not anymore, not after fifteen seasons of him choosing his baby brother over everyone else, friend, mother, etc.
The term queerplatonic relationship was coined by asexuals and aromantics (so Sam and Dean) and Supernatural gave us the most aro/ace ending they could have ever given us. Supernatural as a whole is queerplatonic, so that’s the representation right there. My dumbass is aro/ace and I feel perfectly represented with Supernatural, honestly. I’m also bisexual and wasn’t looking for any kind of representation in that sense in the show because I know that’s not what the show is about. It was never about that. The show is and always was about Sam and Dean and their psychotic, irrational, erotic codependence on each other. Real fans got that. It was never about sex; we never wanted them to have sex. We wanted platonic, we got platonic, and those of us that are real fans understood and loved the show for what it was.
It’s just so refreshing to watch something that doesn’t center on romance or sexual relationships. Supernatural was gritty and dark and sometimes bad but the show has so much meaning. It gives so much to those of us that have no desire to be in a relationship.
There’s too much media focusing on romantic relationships and I just want so badly to see more platonic relationships. That’s what Supernatural has given me and I am so grateful for it. Sam and Dean’s relationship wasn’t perfect -- in fact it was fucked up and twisted -- but it’s what has kept the vast majority of fans tuning in every week, for every new season. Every relationship in Supernatural ended up being platonic and that is what is so beautiful to me. True fans didn’t want or need romance, we just needed the brothers and their queerplatonic relationship with each other.

((no worries! Not sure what all you have/don't...and do you prefer me to write leading dialogue for your bitties where applicable or do that yourself? But maybe this can help...))
For a time, she observed the various classic sorts, but though some waved or even chatted a bit, there was no 'click' of connection, that sense of 'where were you, what took you so long to get here!' that she sought with any sentient being fixed to enter her life. Bit of a shame, really, since the Doctor had been right - a laid back Sans or more subdued Papyrus sort wouldn't be a bad bet for her based on what she'd read - but she wouldn't force a connection...
Not ready to give up just yet, she continued through the shop. She wasn't particularly drawn to the aquatics - just as well, as she had no place for an appropriate tank - and avians still gave her some disquiet due to that incident with an ex-roomate's parrot.... The cat-like blasters did appeal in terms of some aspects of their behaviour which was familiar, but she couldn't shake how much they reminded her of that cat she had to dissect in high school... And the only time in her life she had ever passed out. So, ultimately, she found herself mainly observing the legged and lamia sorts.
She also realized right quick she had been right that she didn't see herself bonding with the traditional fell types - tsundere punks, loud-mouthed self-proclaimed bosses, and weepy little subservient cry-baby variations of the tsundere just... Didn't mesh. She also knew better than to look for anything like a so-called killer, dust, or error type. She'd dealt with way too much violent crazy in her life already.
But for other types, she tried to keep an open mind... Ideally, it would be someone mature and eloquent enough with whom she could have a conversation, who would want to spend time with her, but didn't need excessive coddling.... And who was willing to look past or help with her foibles and adhd-inspired lack of housekeeping without yelling, nitpicking, or bossing her around -too- much.
Online she had been drawn to some of the gaster types, though most of them did sound either too unhinged, or too cerebral to find her of any interest... But some of the swapped papyri? or head-ful horrors and their gallows-humor loving siblings? She could even see herself dealing with a fun if overly lusty plum or G, if they didn't mind her lack of interest in anything beyond completely platonic companionship. And she had to admit - she usually was drawn to the misfits and damaged...rescues and refugees. But...again...
As she rounded a corner towards the back of the store, she reminded herself to be open to that feeling of connection, of 'rightness', regardless of where it originated.
The woman turns sharply at his voice, but then smiles, a bit nervous. "Ah yeah! I mean, if anyone clicks with me...". She shoves the glasses onto her head, sharp grey eyes anxiously meeting his eyelights. "I do wanna state up front that I have a couple kitties, though, if that's a problem...?"
((let me know if you prefer that I use notes or reblogs or something to reply.))
(i prefer reblogs if possible, it helps keep things together)
"Cats are no trouble if bitties are large enough to stand fairly equal to them. so i'd recommend some of the larger birds, nagas, or blasters in that case." Dr. Tahoma adjusted his own glasses and gave a small smile, "We even have one blaster bitty type that is feline in nature, if you'd prefer as well."

Platonically romantic Sam and Dean just makes so much sense. Especially thinking about Dean's perspective, since he never had a taste of "normal" and a long-term romantic relationship as a young man like Sam did. Dean is sexually attracted to women, but I don't really think he's ever experienced typical romantic attraction to one. We don't know much about his relationship with Cassie, but I find it easy to imagine that their sexual connection only became something more when he felt platonic companionship with her as well. Like, she was a hot hook-up, but something flipped the switch and made him think... she could be friend? And Lisa was never anything more than a hook-up-turned-fantasy until he turned to her because he had nowhere else to go, and while I think they may have had good sexual chemistry, it's also hard to imagine a typical romance in that scenario. There was no wooing involved. Dean was depressed, distant, and hard-drinking while he lived with Lisa. He may have developed some emotional intimacy with her, especially co-parenting Ben, but again, it's easier for me to imagine that emotional intimacy as platonic than as romantic, even if they were having sex.
In the meantime, there is one relationship of Dean's that has been hardwired in him as The Most Important Thing In The World from a young age; one person he adores above all else; one person whom he views as an extension of himself--or more accurately, of whom he sees himself as an extension: his brother, obviously. Romance is separate from sex, but where do you draw the line? What does romance without sexual attraction look like? Collins Dictionary defines romantic love as "an intensity and idealization of a love relationship, in which the other is imbued with extraordinary virtue, beauty, etc., so that the relationship overrides all other considerations, including material ones." (Yeah I got that from Wikipedia, whatever) And damn if the Winchesters don't about fit that to a T (even if their sibling dynamic usually--not always!--doesn't allow them to wax poetic about the other's virtues and beauty lol). Basically--and this is so far from an original thought but please humor me--Dean Winchester pours all his capacity for emotional intensity, which would normally be directed towards romantic/sexual relationships, into his relationship with his brother. He doesn't have any practice cultivating romance with anyone else--his upbringing didn't even offer the opportunity, and actually actively discouraged the formation of such intense ties that would only hurt to break off every time the family moved. And I headcanon that the transference works the other way too--that with a platonic relationship as his golden standard of intimacy, in his rare deeper relationship with a woman/sexual partner, it was platonic intimacy that Dean was seeking out in Sam's absence.
So in short maybe what I'm saying is... aro Dean? Or really, Sam-romantic Dean, if not Sam-sexual Dean. His brother is the only person he was really allowed to (or, honestly, wanted to) develop an intense emotional bond with, and the only person he's ever experienced something like a deep romantic connection with--with all the possessiveness, jealousy, selflessness, and tenderness that entails.

Hey so I can't stop thinking about Loki kiss as in why was Kang the conqueror included? This was weird enough for me that I measured the time of the kiss (about 9 seconds) and I measured the time that Kang was included (about 3 seconds). During about one third of the sylki kiss we could watch kang watch them kiss. Sylvie kisses Loki, they move and the camera moves with them but then, instead of stopping on them front and center, it includes blurry Kang. Who's just sitting there. Watching them. Was that supposed to be awkward/funny? Or dramatic bc Kang is so dangerous (even if he really doesn't seem to be)? Or make the whole thing just this bit weirder? Like it just makes no sense to me?? What was that about? (im asking here bc i genuinely would like to know the reason but anyway feel free to ignore me and release yourself of this ughh)
inatshej asked: Okay um I'm sorry about my previous ask about loki kissing scene. I just realised that kang was visible to foreshadow the ending where Sylvie still decided to kill him. That even if things seem to be going in the right direction (LOL if you ship sylki MAYBE), something bad can still happen, and happens. So yeah sorry xD took me a few hours to figure it out by myself tho xD
(just an heads up, if anyone is wondering why this question interests me, is because I was posting about LOKI during its runtime, in case you missed it) [FINAL THOUGHTS HERE]
** SPOILERS FOR LOKI **
Hey Lovely!
Hahahah no worries at all!
Here's my thing about Si1ki: I have no problem with the ship (I mean, I ship Sherlock with himself sometimes, so I would be a hypocrite if I shat on the ship), but I JUST DON'T SEE IT; it felt REALLY forced. I understand the metaphor they were trying to go for (you need to love yourself before others) but like.... the WHOLE "romance" felt weird. Mobius, ON SCREEN, even said it was "sick and twisted", so like, once he said that, I couldn't unsee it, and I think that was the problem: You on screen still acknowledge it, yet you still go with it.
Almost like Disney is more okay with anything else than they are with queer relationships. But I digress.
Please note I am speaking from a Loki X Mobius bias, so take what you will from my thoughts. It felt like they really were gonna go there. But I'm the clown in believing Disney, after canonically confirming Loki's bisexuality, would go there. It's performative activism, and Disney, heaven forbid, have a story with a male and female lead and NOT make them romantic interests... It's SO TIRING. Because up until the weird... THING in Episode 4, I had high hopes they were gonna go the BFF's / sibling dynamic, but yeah, the romance felt REALLY forced and weird, and the kiss even moreso.
I don't think she really liked Loki "That Way", and used Loki's confused feelings against him. I say that because she REALLY showed NO interest in the whole thing they had in Episode 5, and he's just SO desperate for love and companionship that I think he is will take what he can get. The Lokius Hug in E5 felt REALLY genuine, like two people who care and understand each other, and two people who – if nothing else – share a platonic Philia love for each other. AND they had a chemistry that shined on screen. I don't FEEL that with Loki and Sylvie. They care about each other, that's all I really got out of it.
If they were writing a romance, I PERSONALLY thought it was poorly written and executed even worse. The kiss was cringe, didn't make the romance "more real" and didn't give me the same vibes that the hug did, and it SHOULDN'T do that if it was well written. BUT I've never been in any serious relationship ever, so what do I know. Maybe I'm just too ace to "get the clues" but even movies where I KNOW that the main characters are supposed to be together, I feel the chemistry. I love both Tom and Sophia as their characters, but the "romantic" chemistry wasn't there.
Anyway, just my own gripe about it all.
BUT YES, your second ask in regards to Kang being there is also how I took it, and the kiss was a distraction. He knew what she was going to do; he studied her character all his life, he KNEW she wasn't going to just NOT do it. She never had the love of her family, and bitterness and resentment is all she knew. She didn't get to go through the character arc / development that our 2012 Loki got to, and HONESTLY? I think it's because she didn't HAVE someone like Mobius who believed in her. And Loki knew that, and unfortunately, his verbal trust in her came too late.
That said, I think we'll see her again, but I don't think she's gonna ever be a "good guy"; she'll be a morally grey character like MCU Loki was, and will probably go out in the same way, somehow.
I do like her, I just REALLY felt like the whole romance was shoehorned in by some top exec at Disney who thought it wouldn't be successful without one.

Hi, could you please do a yandere platonic darth vader? Thank you!
I can try, sure! If something is OOC, I'm so sorry, I still struggle writing Vader.
Yandere! Platonic! Darth Vader Concept
Pairing: Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Kidnapping, Isolation, Brainwashing, Overprotective behavior, Violence, Murder, Forced companionship.
Tumblr media
Vader, or even Anakin, would not be the best father.
If things didn't go wrong, he'd probably be loving to his kids.
Yet at the same time, he'd just make an action at some point to poison that bond.
Vader was under the impression his wife and child died.
Which made him who he is now.
In reality, he had three.
Luke, Leia, and you.
He never found out about any of you until much later.
I think it would be an interesting idea if you took a different path than Luke and Leia.
Like, maybe you went to help them during the Death Star and had no idea they were your siblings. (You could just have been raised beside Leia as a childhood friend or something or found them later)
Unfortunately, however, you end up being taken captive by Vader.
Which leads to Vader finding out you're his kid...
Which begins the obsession.
I'm assuming he knew you were his kid via looks and feeling drawn to you (The Force).
So, as OOC as this may be, imagine this...
Vader decides to keep you alive instead of executing you in order to "parent" you.
You hate him yet Vader feels you're a second chance.
This is before he even knew Luke was his kid.
I imagine it would be similar to when Vader said he could convert Luke to the Dark Side.
To protect your life, he'd tell Palpatine you could be useful in tracking Rebels.
Granted, you aren't going to like his plans...
But as a prisoner, your say doesn't matter much.
It would be even more interesting if you were capable of The Force, too.
Vader might've made you either an apprentice or had you help him in other ways if you were.
It's a hard pill to swallow when you learn the real reason Vader took you in.
He's your father.
Even then, you still struggle to play nice.
Knowing he's your father makes you feel sick.
He's never too affectionate, like he's unsure how to approach you.
Yet he teaches you and garners your obedience through manipulation and fear.
He's a quiet man, the only way you know of his presence is his breathing.
He doesn't expect you to like him, even after the truth.
He doesn't expect mutual love, either.
You make him conflicted... reminding him of his one true love.
Again, you may not care for him, but Vader shows he "cares".
He finds time to train you, he gives you Stormtroopers, he protects you.
He does strange little things that one could consider caring or attentive...
Yet you're so separated from one another that it doesn't mean anything to you.
Vader may view giving you guards as protecting you, but to you they're just wardens.
If Vader could ever will himself to say he loves you, it means nothing to you.
He's not a father to you.
Even if he tried he simply couldn't be.
Vader would end up brainwashing you as his captive.
He does everything he can to make you forget the Rebels.
He may not even tell you about your siblings, just to make it seem like he's your only familial connection.
Eventually you don't have to be kept as a prisoner.
He constantly gives you the option to be something more if you just listen.
He does his best to convince you he cares.
You're the closest thing he has to what could've been.
Luke and Leia want him dead.
Yet he's messed with you enough to confuse you.
Eventually, well, what other choice do you have besides joining him?
He's your father, he cares about you...
By now, he's all you have.
He'll train you to hunt Rebels, to be on his side.
He defends you from Palpatine, keeping you under his wing.
He's not afraid to kill, for both his cause and you.
If he killed in your name, he justifies it.
He tells you it had to happen.
You've seen him kill rebels, friends, those you considered family...
And he tells you it's necessary.
You aren't like them.
Rebels are not the good guys, you belong beside your father.
He'll ensure you know that.
He'll make sure you never stray from him.
That alone is another motivation for him to sear through the flesh of another Rebel with his saber, glancing back to make sure you watch.
You'll never leave his side.
Even if he has to lock you away, it's to ensure you stay with him.
So he never loses another one he loves.
Vader himself knows he's not a good man.
Let alone a good father.
Yet you both know he's your father...
There's no one else you can go to now that he has you.

Oh I’m so glad to have learned how to do read mores on mobile cuz now I can rant FOREVER about my headcanons without clogging people’s dash
I see a lot of comments on my insta on my art of Edric and amity making fun of emira saying it’s Edric’s turn next but here’s the fun part: I headcanon that boy as ace/aro.
Edric Blight is a lot of things but a lot of his identity is wrapped up not just in his family name, but in his twin as well. We’ve seen him be a goofball, a prankster, endlessly curious, and as much of a ball of sunshine as Luz is. But his one comment from enchanting grom fright has rocked me to my core since that episode aired three weeks ago. His biggest fear is being alone forever.
Then why do I headcanon him as ace/aro? Because I don’t think he quite understands the depth of that fear. He was notably downtrodden when he heard his twin sister, his best friend through literally his entire life, say that her “biggest fear” was being stuck with him forever. Because he’s considered what it’d be like to try to establish friendships outside of his sisters and can’t see himself having such a deep connection with anyone else as he does with them. His twin can practically read his mind and vice versa; he knows that emira wants desperately to branch out and be friends with others and maybe even find a romantic partner (and we all know where I stand on that front), but understands how impossible it can be with the last name they bear. Their parents canonically pick and choose their friends for the sake of social status and the twins don’t seem to care for that at all. They’re a unit, a match set, because they’ve had to be to maintain their sanity over the years. They rebel with each other because they can’t establish other friendships long enough before their parents fuck it up somehow. What would he do if he lost his only life line??
Emira is like, 80% of his impulse control, as we’ve seen with her knocking the snow out of his hand before he could taste it and chasing after him to make sure he doesn’t get bitten by a bat he caught. I’m pretty sure if he knew Emira wanted to hang out with someone without his presence, he’d just spiral. Gotta love that rejection sensitivity dysphoria 🙃. I could easily see him sneaking around trying to spy on Emira to see “what’s so great about her new friends” to pacing the floor of his room and taking out loud to an illusion of himself (or Emira, but that’s more sad) to try and rationalize Emira wanting to be around someone other than him. He loves his sisters, but Emira has been his constant companion his whole life. How could possibly function without her?
So he tries it himself. He branches out like his sister, makes new friends, but can’t seem to understand how his sisters have managed to land girlfriends and he hasn’t. Then he realizes he’s never really had a crush on anyone before. There was one point when he thought he had when he was maybe 10, but it turned out that person was just really cool and Ed just wanted to hang around them. He mentally goes down the list of his new friends and realizes he’s not especially attracted to anyone. Not that none of them aren’t attractive or anything, he just doesn’t feel anything particularly different or stronger than anyone else. Then goes through his mental list of everyone in the school and still comes up blank. He’s never had a crush on anyone before. Why????
He’s always just had Emira by his side. He didn’t need another companion for anything. But now that the twins were reestablishing themselves and discovering their identities outside of each other, Edric finds that he can’t replace Em. No one else really fits the role of constant companion. He’s not sure if it’s a twin thing or a sibling thing, but hes relatively certain that romantic partners are supposed to be like those “constant companions” in a sense that he can’t parse.
He’d watch his sisters hang out with their respective girlfriends and watch them hug and kiss and hold hands and he’d just blanch. He had to admit though, he missed the companionship. He really hated being alone. But he didn’t want what his sisters had. He just wanted that constant companion.
Anyway this accidentally turned into a half-fic/character study but I defo 100% see Edric as being a lost bumbling ace/aro just like other aces and aros that don’t really grasp the concept at first. Where you really do want that companionship but you don’t have any strong feelings for anyone in particular and you don’t know how to fill that awkward void in your heart. I do like to imagine he manages to some day find a queer-platonic partner that he really clicks with that he can be like, physically affectionate with like cuddling and sharing a bed when it’s been a long day and holding hands when they walk around somewhere. Anyway I’m adopting edric blight alongside Lilith clawthorne, we’re both his parents now

At what point did Adrian and Kamilah’s relationship shift to the close friendship it is now? Did it all go down like in the book when they went on the ship mission during the Revolutionary War or was it different in your universe? What has kept them close through the years? I love their relationship because it had so many layers in Bloodbound but it has even more in Destiny.
ack nonnie this made me smile so much and today I needed it more than I can describe so thank you??? so much???
So in terms of like specific events that led to their developing friendship and close platonic bond, I haven’t thought super in-depth about it RE “is it different than it was in canon with the ship blowing up, etc.” I might, if I get to a point where that reference or flashback might be necessary or particularly poignant, but to answer it straight-laced -- I don’t know. Right now there isn’t a big change in that event, not that I’m aware of anyway.
But in terms of how they’ve kept close, evolved as friends into pretty much surrogate siblings for one another, kept each other strong, that kinda stuff, a lot of it is subtle but strong if that makes sense.
Like the immediate things I can think of right off the bat are
The sense of us against the world that comes into play during Adrian’s Trial in book 1 -- where Kamilah was still sort of beholden to her duties because she (at that point) had switched from one extreme loyalty to another (Gaius to anything but Gaius, being the Council) but witnessing the injustice of his pain and knowing he was just trying to be good and do good and keep the city safe was enough to make her flip the switch to saying enough is enough.
The Kamilah and Adrian flash(forward) scene in book 3 [V.iii. And There Was a Great Calm] where they are at the Awakening Ball post-WWII. It’s a lot of subtle stuff here but the implication I was going for was how hard Adrian took personal accountability and self-guilt each time he would come back from a war. In this scene in particular he can’t stand how wasteful everyone is being because he’s only just started to settle back into civilian life -- and Kamilah’s attitude sort of implies she’s done this before with him; helped him remember how to be a normal person and not just a soldier
Another reference to their past comes in the pair of scenes in Adrian’s memories in book 4 [Chapter 21: The Progeny] which are shown in reverse, but taken chronologically it goes from the 19th century where she approves of Adrian following in Gaius’ footsteps to the early 20th where she sees Gaius treating him cruelly for the same bright mind he was once beloved for, and that unsettles her.
But the last straw for my Kamilah, at least, comes in The Price, a drabble which was meant to serve as a Trinity tie-in primarily but ended up being more of a commentary on what Gaius was willing to do to secure loyalty. He has a woman Adrian is falling for killed and is extremely flippant about it to Kamilah, who is the only one to go comfort him. It’s a very “do whatever you will to me, but hurting someone I care for is the final straw” kind of momentum for her finally agreeing Gaius needs to be stopped.
Something that should also be taken into account is the opening chapter for book 5 [Chapter 1: The Refuge] where we learn that (directly different to canon) Kamilah’s brother, Lysimachus, is alive when she’s Turned. She gets so close to seeing him, even for one final goodbye, and Gaius stops her because, essentially, “I said so and you’ll learn to listen to me.” When she ends up finding that spark of brotherly affection in Adrian, even if it’s ‘off-screen,’ it becomes something she draws parallels to without her conscious knowledge.
I know most of this has to do with Kamilah’s POV on things but that’s because of a lot of what I’ve written so far, even without really realizing it, comes directly to and from her perspective. Now that you’ve pointed it out though Nonnie I definitely want to explore more of Adrian’s side of their connection. Both in reaction to these events above and others I’ve not yet come to a decision on.
It’s not so much a specific statement answer as what I hope is a timeline (is a disorganized one) that shows the progress of their companionship and events that triggered change in their dynamic. There’s still more to come especially given that Kamilah didn’t see Adrian’s meltdown in the King’s Manor and has yet to realize how close to the surface his lingering issues with and about Gaius really are.
Thanks so much for this ask, it was a lot of fun to dig into their dynamic!

Questions I Am Preemptively Answering (1/TBD):
Are any of the ROs virgins? If so, then why? If not, then how experienced are they?
All of the ROs are virgins, and I have a few issues with what I anticipate people really mean when they use the word "experience," so I will just say they have never been in sexual or romantic relationships before, but that does not mean they lack any sort of knowledge or understanding on how to be a good partner or a good person. As for why, generally people don't need to explain this or I would fight them with my fists, but of course I'm answering for my OCs who I love and want to validate at every possible opportunity, so:
TC: Are generally kind of preoccupied with being cursed and all, so. They just never really considered the idea of any sort of intimate partnership outside of general yearning for social and emotional acceptance from someone they don't partly believe is forced to care about them, like their sibling. They're also afraid of hurting other people and don't understand the concept of growing together or being loved unconditionally. Like their sibling, they grew up with love being modeled as something dramatic and painful; being caught in the crosshairs of it and suffering immensely and indefinitely as collateral damage, and it made them miserable enough. Love is courage.
TR: Are entirely focused on breaking the curse, have all but formally dedicated their life to helping their sibling. Also generally not attracted to people, and doesn't bother or desire to spend enough time getting to know them; views most other people as either assets to, or liabilities/distractions from, their quest. They see romantic relationships as being unstable and turbulent and they can't comprehend willingly subjecting themselves to that. They already absolutely unconditionally love their sibling with enough ferocity to bring them to their knees, and that is more than enough. They view love as a conscious decision. Love is dedication.
TB: Extremely aware of their own needs and sensitivities (of which there are many), and are too busy tending to their duties, as well as generally not prone to taking interest in anyone, not even platonically, unless they feel like they really know them and feel safe with them. As a result, their social group is extremely limited, which is precisely their preference. Any partnership they are expected to make wouldn't be for love or passion, anyway, though they do harbor desire for true companionship in their heart, but haven't felt like anything was worth taking action over. They have a strong and active distaste for dalliances of any kind. Love is tenderness.
TP: Being the personal guard of TR is a lot of work, and they grew up with an understanding of their job and place in the world not being conducive to fostering much more than passing friendships. Quite frankly, they're still surprised TR and TC are their friends, and they don't hope for much more. For their parents, love was stability, and they don't even really think they can provide that for someone even if they wanted to. They're also wary of affections being used as a means to an end, hearing stories of the terrible consequences of guards who had let their defenses down out of love or desire for the wrong person; that other people ended up hurt in the process. And to love someone without trusting them, risking the safety of others in the process, doesn't seem like a love worth having at all to TP. Love is thoughfulness.
TL: Partnerships outside of having a strong support system within their magical circle never really appealed to them. They were kind of solitary anyway, preferring to learn and do things, so they kept themselves busy and ascended socially because of their dedication, which they are extremely proud of. They're happy and fulfilled on their own, and take offense to the idea that they're lacking something, overcorrecting others' ignorance by stubbornly avoiding relationships altogether. If they ever were to like someone romantically, they would need time to accept that it does not invalidate the part of themselves that generally does not experience those desires, and that real love comes in many fluctuating and sometimes frustrating forms. Love is understanding.
(Final Note: This story is still in the beginning stages, and while this RO information will not change at its core, I reserve the right to edit or repost this information whenever I feel like updating its contents and adding links to resources or related posts.)

Five Hargreeves(UA)- Three Times He Proposed and the One Time You Said Yes
Tumblr media
A/N: Ok fine, so this was the fic that i originally planned to post last week. I was having a major struggle with the plot and I abandoned it mid-way to work on the one that I posted yesterday. Glad that I succeed in finding the motivation to finish this.
Description: He wanted to get married, you did not.
Warning: Blood, fighting?
Wordcount: 2634

Loving is Easy//Rex Orange County
All Out of Love//Air Supply
Summertime//My Chemical Romance
“Marry me.”
“No.”
You put the book you were reading down onto your lap and looked up to see your very unimpressed boyfriend.
You two were assigned partners in the Commission. Being a well-trained assassin before being recruited, you were one of the most skilled in the organization and was beyond annoyed to be paired up when you were doing fine on your own. At first, you couldn’t stand Five but came to develop a liking towards him after going on multiple missions together, being more empathetic after learning what he had been through. You hated to mention it as you felt that it boosts his ego way too much, but being the more powerful one out of the two of you(he did have an upper hand, superpower and all), he did save your life on multiple occasions.
You were 50 and he was 58 when you went on the mission to stop the assassination of Kennedy. You soon noticed that he wasn’t paying attention to the mission at all and you confronted him about it.
“Five, our target is getting close to where we need him to be. Can you just stop flipping through that notebook for a second and focus? It’s really unlike you to...”
“Shush. I’m almost there, almost done...”
It ended up with him pulling you into the portal with him. The next thing you knew, you crashed onto the ground, shocked to see that both you and Five had the body of a child. Obviously, you were infuriated but eventually joined in on Five’s plan to stop the apocalypse with his siblings. You were glad to say that the plan did work, no one knew for sure that there is no more apocalypse in the future but at least everything seemed fine for the moment being. No longer having to kill people for a living and regaining the youth you had long lost, you got to experience the joy(pain) of growing into an adult all over again, this time in a modern world and with new friends. It didn’t took long for your relationship with Five to develop into something most certainly more than platonic.
And that’s how you ended up right where you were at. Trying to read a book on a sunny afternoon at the building that used to be the Umbrella Academy, when Five suddenly tells you to marry him.
“And why, exactly?”
“We’re a mess, Five.” You said and Five rolled his eyes, walking away from you.
Sensing his annoyance, you quickly got up and followed him down the corridor towards the bar. You went in to see him picking up a bottle of tequila and you instantly cover the glass he was holding in his other hand. “Five, put that down.” He turned his gaze from the liquor to you, putting the items down and crossed his arms in front of his chest. You sat down across from him and stared back at him, resting your head on your palm, waiting for him to say something.
“Was it something I do?” Five questioned, looking more defeated and confused than frustrated now. You regretted your bluntness earlier. You hated seeing him like this, feeling so guilty knowing that you caused the pain that he tried so hard to conceal yet you stood by your answer.
“No, it wasn’t you,” you reached out to touch his cheek, “We both went through so much. You got stuck in the apocalypse all by yourself for decades, no don’t give me that look pretending to be all tough and whatnot, I know how much it affected you. I was literally raised to be a killing machine who does not know anything but how to kill. It was all I know and now that I don’t have to do that anymore, I’m lost.”
The young man furrowed his eyebrows, “And how does that correlate to what I was asking you?”
“It’s just... you know?” you struggled to find the right words, “For once, everything is so peaceful. No more killing, no more assassination, no more apocalypse yet I feel so out of place, so.. without a purpose. I don’t want to go into marriage with that kind of emotional burden, there’s so many stuff we have to work on. I don’t know how to put it in words but I just don’t feel ready and...”
“Alright, I get it.” Five stopped you from rambling, a forced smile plastered on his face, “Forget that I’ve said anything.” With that, he teleported away, leaving you alone in the bar.
The following days were torturous. He made a point to let you know that he was ignoring you on purpose, teleporting pass you every time he wanted to walk past you. Five avoided all kinds of interaction with you, not even a simple “good morning” at the table. The silent treatment was driving you insane, especially when you two live in the same building. You two had fought before, but never for this long. It hurts but you couldn’t help from being frustrated as well.
“You can’t just ignore me, Five.” You said to the man sitting on the far end of the table who was mindlessly stirring his cup of coffee. He looked up and gave you a cold stare for a second before turning his gaze back to the black liquid. You sighed, “Come on, Five! Just give me a response, anything!” Nothing, not even a glare this time.
“Fine,” You threw your hands in the air in defeat, “I’ll stop bothering you.” Shoving the chair back, you got up and walked away from the table.
“I don’t understand your reluctance towards marriage,” the voice stopped you in your tracks.
"The last time we had this conversation, it ended up with you ignoring me for days.” You turned back to look at Five, folding your arms in front of your chest as you recall the last time you talked to him.
“Well,” Five said bitterly with a mocking grin on his lips, “I’m not sure if you noticed but when you proposed to someone and got rejected, feeling hurt is a completely normal reaction."
"I've told you, I don't feel like I'm ready for it yet." You said, a hint of frustration in your tone. After knowing Five for so long, you had come to realize that his experiences in life made him stubborn and target-focused, you did find it to be a loveable trait sometimes but right now, it simply felt like he was not listening to anything you had said.
"I'm not saying that your concern is invalid but I just don't see how that has to do with anything." Five said, propping himself up by placing his arm on the table. He seemed so calm and collected, too nonchalant that it was almost forced. It was the silence before the storm and you could sense that he was starting to loose patience, you two read each other like a book after years of companionship.
The annoyance in his tone almost ticked you off. "Five, I do want to marry you," you said, "and we will get married one day, just not now. Not while there are so many things we need to figure out."
"You're avoiding my question."
"Why are you rushing this?" you said, raising your voice without noticing.
Five snapped, "Why can’t you see that this could be our chance at happiness?”
You were taken back by his burst of anger, the shock was soon replaced by your own annoyance. “Did you even listen to anything I said?” you bite back.
He let out a dry laugh, “Yeah, and I don’t see how that makes any sense.”
You were lost at words, he didn’t seem to pay much attention and carried on, "We finally stopped the apocalypse and for once, everything is at peace. Like you said, no more killing, no more Commission here to give us orders. Why should it matter that we are messed up? We have each other!”
As sweet as that sounds, it disturbed you way more than such a confession should. “Marriage is a commitment and getting married means sharing a life, relying on nothing but another person is not healthy I-”
“I can’t lose you.”
It came out like a roar. Both of you froze in place. Five sighed and his shoulder sank, “You are the one good thing I have and I can’t live with the thought of losing you. Which is why I am asking you this right now, marry me.”
You stared your lover who looked so small, the shadow of the old man who went into the battlefield with you hidden deep in his eyes. Neither one of you were ready. “My god, listen to us,” you said with an almost trembling voice, “we can’t even talk about marriage without getting into an argument. How are we suppose to get married?”
“(y/n)...”
“Our issues won’t just go away if we get married. A happy marriage takes work, it takes communication.” you paused as you felt tears welling up in your eyes, “I can’t marry you when we are like this. I’m sorry, Five” He tried to say something, but you didn’t give him the chance and walked out the room.
“Agnes, I feel like a bitch.” you mumbled while you rest you head on the counter. You needed to sort things out and being in awkward silence with Five did not seem like a good option. So you headed out for your favourite spot in town(Five brought you here first, but you got so hooked on the doughnuts that you ended up visiting on your own all the time).
The waitress put down a plate and gave you a soft smile, “I’m sure he’ll understand. Getting married is a big deal, you should always respect the other person’s opinion no matter where they are coming from.”
You looked up and sighed, “If only he understands. I have no idea how I’m suppose to go back and face him.”
“He’ll come to his senses, you two always manage to sort things out after you fight.”
“Sure, but things are different this-” You held onto your mug as you speak when you saw a shadow of what seems like a person flickering from its reflection. You moved it slightly towards the light source to get a clearer image. Your heart skipped a beat as you finally make out what the shadow was. Gunman, and more than one.
“Hide in the back room.” you quickly whispered to Agnes, trying not to move as to avoid suspicion.
“What? But I-”
“Just do it,” you muttered, “lock the door and don’t come out.” Agnes was confused but did as you told her to reluctantly. You could feel your palms sweating as you clenched your jaw, there was only one reason to explain why gunmen were here.
The Commisson found you, and they want you dead.
Upon regaining your youth, your physical abilities were better than the time you worked as one of them but you were out of training. It had been a while since you last had to fight someone, let alone a group of armed fighters. But there was no choice but to act on your instincts as you heard the sound of the doors opening and the clicks of the trigger. Sliding a knife in between you fingers, you spun around to face the group of men pointing their guns at you. You recognized each and every single one of them, you trained some of them yourself. They were good, but you were better.
Without a single thought, you sprint towards the closest man and knocked his gun off his hand. There was no time for thinking and you did what years of experience taught you to do.
Quick movements, no hesitation, no mercy.
It was a tough fight, you were more skilled but outnumbered. But the blade had yet to lose its edge and the group of men were now lying lifelessly on the floor. You could taste the copper tang in your mouth as you pant, a sharp pain spiked through your body and you hissed in pain. You put your hand on your waist only to pull back and saw it covered in blood. One of those bastards must have hit but you were too focused to notice right away. You tried to move towards the door but your breathing got heavier. Your legs gave in and you collapsed on the floor.
The last thing you saw was a flash of blue light before your vision gone black.
The light almost hurt your eyes when you woke up and you had to fight to force them open. Lying on what seems to be a bed, you tried to get up but yelped at the pain in your waist. “Careful.” a pair of arms supported your back and slowly helped you lay back down. You turned to see a very concerned Five by the side of the bed.
“How did I get back?”
“Agnes called me, I heard the fighting and got there immediately. I arrived to see you on the ground, covered in blood.”
“Oh.” you whispered, staring at the ceiling.
“You’re reckless for going into a fight against so many people WEAPONLESS.” he said, widening his eyes as he emphasized on the last word.
“Well,” you said matter of factly, “they were blocking the door and most of us normal people would need to physically walked through an exit to leave a place. Would be convenient if I could teleport though.” Five let out a humph and rolled his eyes in a mocking manner. You smiled, relieved to see that at least he was responding to your jokes again.
Five’s expression returned to a more serious one, he pursed his lips and opened his mouth hesitantly, “About earlier,” he avoided your eyes, a sign of doubt that was rare to see on him, “I’m sorry for pushing you to do something you don’t want to.”
You tried to say something, that you were sorry too but he stopped you. “I never got to have a ‘normal’ life and with the peace that I have now, I’m so afraid to lose it again that I wanted some sort of… some sort of reassurance that things are stable, and I figured that marriage would be the thing that could do that.” He lowered his head in embarrassment and you reached out to push the hair out of his face, showing him that you get it and you did not blame him at all.
“The Commission sent people after me, they’ll sent people after you. They won’t stop until they hunt us down.”
“Then we take them down,” Five said, holding your hand in his, “the best of the best, fighting together.” You chuckled. Looking into his eyes, you were reminded of the many reasons you fell in love with him in the first place, one of them being the way his eyes glisten when he speaks of things that he cares about.
“I want to marry you,” he said with his eyes fixed on you, “because you mean the world to me. We can do it tomorrow, next month, next year. Hell, next decade, I don’t care. I’m ready whenever you are ready.”
At this moment, you realized that you had found the purpose you were so desperately looking for. You wanted to grow old with this man, getting better and better each day. Whatever you set your mind on, you want him by your side as much as you want to be there for him.
“Five?”
“Hm?”
“Ask me again.”
“Will you marry me...?”
“Yes.”

Wanted to hear you go on about child yandere. more types of love than romantic. the your my friend or your going to take care of me and me you is scary in a different way. smart kids can more easily manipulate the victim and others emotionally.
Child yanderes huh? Admittedly, that’s a topic I never really think about a lot.  The wording here was a little strange, but I’m taking this as pretty much a “free rein” question.
Quick thoughts here before the read more section:
Can a child be a yandere? – Absolutely
My feelings towards child yanderes (where the cast is roughly the same age) – Same as a normal yandere
My feelings towards child yanderes (where the yandere’s S/O is much older) – Frustrating to okay
To be perfectly upfront here, I don’t focus on child yanderes a lot with the media I consume. That doesn’t mean I don’t come across any.  In fact, in may just be a case where I’m not even considering “this is a child yandere” when technically yes they are.  I guess it depends on what age range you think of when you hear the word “child” to begin with.  For me, that makes me think elementary school and maybe even middle school.  High school I would rather say “kids” if that’s a step up in anyway?
If you consider anyone who is a minor (under the age of 18) a child, then yeah there’s a lot of child yanderes I’ve seen.  Lots of media I’ve read or watched focus on a cast of characters in high school for instance, or sometime middle school age.  I don’t think I’ve read or watched something with a yandere where the cast is strictly elementary school age.  Would I even really enjoy that?  To be honest, elementary school (and sometimes even middle school) romances for me might sound cute, but I hardly take them seriously.  There’s a lot of yanderes who met their S/O in elementary school in the story I’m sure, but that’s usually a past element and the story is focusing on the characters when they’re older.
For the sake of this post, I’ll just assume anyone who is under the age of 18 may count as a child yandere.
Can a child be a yandere?  Of course they can.  They just have to have intense feelings of love that are overwhelming towards another individual, often leading to obsessive and/or possessive behavior.
If you’re the type that believes in “platonic yanderes,” the most common obsessions here would be like the best friend kind (like you stated anon), sibling or parental figure.  In cases like these, I know for a fact I’ve seen some stories where the character is just severely deprived of safe and affectionate love in general.  Their relationships at home either aren’t stellar, or the character doesn’t have anyone period.  They child may have faced abuse or neglect, or they may simply be an orphan.  There’s no desire for sexual or romantic connection here.  The character rather just wants companionship and sometimes a caretaker.  Depending on the backstory given, you can feel kind of sad for these characters since they just don’t want to be alone.  They may also have a tendency to latch onto someone who fits an “ideal” of theirs.  Like the other person seems like the best role model for a friend/sibling/parental figure they always wanted.
If you’re like me though and are more focused on straight up “romantic yanderes,” yes a child can still develop these intense feelings.  In fact, it’s very common for a person in their younger years to grow easily infatuated with someone else, obsess over having a relationship and fumble with healthy dating behavior.  Pretty understandable because when you’re young, you’re just figuring things out. Lots of people have getting married as a main goal in life, so figuring out relationships early on is a benefit sometimes.  You’ve got other things affecting your goal like your social environment and puberty (you know what I mean).  I just stated the obvious here but oh well.  So yeah, a child yandere could fall in love with someone around their age, but they could also develop feelings for someone older.  Usually with the latter, it’s just innocent crushes that blossom from getting attention from someone they view as much more mature than their peers. Plenty of people will probably say, “I had the biggest crush on my third grade teacher” for instance or something like that.  They’re mostly harmless and will fade away in normal cases.  By the way, just because a kid CAN develop a crush on an older individual, that is NOT permission to pursue a relationship with them -_-.  Sorry for that interruption, but I don’t want people to misinterpret what I’m saying here.
Now if the child yandere in question is part of a cast that’s around the same age as them, including their S/O…I just kind of treat them like any other yandere.  No special feelings really towards the character more of less because the setting allows me to just focus on the relationships and not really the ages.  Especially with anime and manga where like, character appearances will hardly match their age sometimes, so I halfway give up even worrying about how old these characters are to begin with.
Currently the most recent child yandere I could think of observing was Norman in the Promised Neverland parody manga, The Parodied Jokerland.  He’s very enjoyable in that and incredibly yandere.  He’s the cute kind of creepy obsessive, if that makes any sense.  In that scenario, his S/O Emma is the same age as him, and the majority of the cast are also kids.
If you have a child yandere who’s focused on an OLDER S/O though…that’s kind of difficult to ignore.
I had this very funny and sad realization:  Most of the media I’ve viewed where a child yandere is in love with an older S/O is via Lifetime movies.
Yeah…
So that gives me a more narrow view here of child yanderes if their S/O is older than them 0.o. Lifetime is basically my junk food.  It’s bad for me, but I’ll watch it occasionally when I have cable access.  Not stellar entertainment, but my god they love to run the obsessive love trope over and over again.  Believe it or not, I know I’ve seen a few variations of cases where they have a younger character desperately trying to get together with an older character. They probably have all combinations, but for some reason the one that pops into my head first is, “teenage girl wants to marry this older man who’s already married/in a relationship.”
The way most of these plots play out is something like:
1)      Kid tries to find a way to get access to S/O (ex. Class, lessons, be a friend of S/O’s kid)
2)      Kid tries to get the S/O to support them with a sad backstory and/or tries to be the “perfect helper” for the S/O
3)      Kid tries to bump off the S/O’s partner at some point (may or may not succeed)
4)      Someone dies (because it’s Lifetime and someone you honestly don’t care about has to get killed at some point just to up the ante- I have literally only ever cared about 1 person that died when watching Lifetime and I don’t think it was even an official Lifetime movie)
5)      Kid confesses their love for their S/O and claims they’re the best match for them
6)      S/O (unsurprisingly) shuts them down with a “No”
7)      Kid snaps and depending on how much time is left in the movie, usually a fight culminates between individuals or there’s a kidnapping or blackmailing (you get the idea)
8)      Ends with kid either getting killed or arrested (Wait do they kill the child yanderes in these movies?  I haven’t watched them all so maybe they live, I’m not sure).
So yeah that’s what this ask made me think of first, haha.  Obviously with Lifetime, pretty much all their yanderes (as low-brow as some of them are) are the antagonistic/villain kind with Yandere vs. S/O stories.  It’s no different if the yandere in the film is a child.  It’s a guaranteed that the child yandere is going to lose in these films. But quite frankly…I know a lot of people actually want the S/O to reciprocate and work with the yandere, but I think we can all agree that this particular scenario should be fine staying Yandere vs. S/O.  Because if it wasn’t, that means you’d be making…an OLDER S/O…attempt a relationship…with a minor….yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhh I don’t recommend going that route for obvious reasons.
Now are child yanderes ever really a threat? Actually yes, they can be quite dangerous.  Sure, they’re not like a high political figure or CEO like in the stories I like to read that can use their power and wealth to push the S/O into a corner or anything.  But child yanderes can become surprisingly selfish and underhanded with their tactics. One thing I notice is that they’re incredibly observant, so they know where to find items they need to use (like weapons or drugs) for a wicked task or they know what kind of people to talk to and manipulate for their own needs. While child yanderes lack a higher social and economic standing, they have their “innocence” that can often help avoid detection from the authorities when trouble arises.  The most dangerous weapon I’d say a child yandere has at their disposable would be the ability to slander someone without repercussions. Especially if they’re claiming someone else was violent with them or sexually abused them.  Why?  Because let’s be honest, lots of people would be deathly afraid of doubting a child making such accusations.  And in turn, their feelings would rise quickly and they’d turn against the accused.
Another fun Lifetime fact: Depending on the film, they always purposefully make it frustrating for the viewer when it comes to false accusations vs. real accusations.  If it’s a film where they have an actual victim speak out against their perpetrator, the circumstances will usually be set up so that most of the film cast won’t believe the victim.  On the other side, if it’s a character making a false accusation against another character, most of the film cast will side with the liar over the accused.  Because I guess Lifetime just likes to say that life is infuriating like that 0.o
Getting back on topic though, so why did I say that child yanderes can range from “frustrating to okay” for me?  Well, like I said earlier, I don’t really take a lot of young romance that seriously. Kids can also be very volatile and irrational, so you know in ADDITION to this character being a yandere, it’s going to be nearly impossible to try to talk some sense into the character that they cannot be with the S/O they desire.  It’s a doomed relationship, so I find myself either rolling my eyes at or pitying the yandere in this case.  The child yandere could be “okay” though if, well…I like their yandere actions honestly. I AM still a sucker for yanderes in general, so I’m not gonna mind if I get a nice fix of crazy in there.
This probably isn’t a stellar answer, but like I said this isn’t really a topic I think about a lot. Hope it was interesting?
