hi 👋, so if you didn't know, rick just released this article called 'catching up with eudora [that counsellor lady from cotg if you didn't remember]: the wrath of the triple goddess' which is probably the first look we get into the plot of the wrath of the triple goddess, so here are some highlights:

"It’s not like her [Eudora] to simply disappear.......Is it a coincidence that Eudora went AWOL on the exact day a certain goddess of magic decided to visit AHS?"

So yeah, for this book apparently hecate PERSONALLY VISITS Percy's school to ask him for the quest, which is interesting and I hope it causes some chaos in the school. and as to WHY Eudora went missing....

2. "but we have heard that Hecate and Eudora have a complicated history. A history as . . . professional colleagues!.....we’re sure that whatever caused Eudora and Hecate to go their separate ways isn’t even worth remembering....oh, who are we kidding?"

Ok, this adds a level of spice to the story. I feel like this will kind of play a role in the story and might be the central conflict of the story along with percy trying to fix the mansion and find the pets and stuff, which is interesting since chalice of the gods was just one conflict and that was to retrieve the chalice.

Also, why do I feel that there will be eudora x hecate shippers after this book?

Oooh that means there will be some extra mystery in this book which is probably 'Who gave percy's name to hecate?"

This line is what made me most excited. So it is kind of confirmed that along with finding the pets, percy and co will also have to solve the mystery, which we know has some connection to eudora and hecate's complicated past since eudora ran away.

This book already sounds better than chalice of the gods in terms of plot. I think Rick meant to keep chalice of the gods as a character centred story and this book as a good old rick Riordan style mystery book (which was actually the type of books he wrote before pjo) which is SO EXCITING DJSJDJSN

Okay, so for my own fanfictions, most of which take place post-TOA and therefore post-Percy "claim your children" Jackson and Jason "honor minor gods" Grace, I made myself a spreadsheet of all the cabins I believe could plausibly be at Camp Half-Blood, and ended up with a whopping 270, and there's probably more dieties whom I couldn't find any information on, and some dieties whom I don't believe would have a cabin (ex. Kronos) (if you think I should add someone comment) and decided to paste it here, since I don't feel comfortable sharing my original spreadsheet. I did add the water dieties, even though their kids could also plausibly go to the underwater camp, but I've decided to give them the option of what camp they want. I also didn't copy their domains, but I have the list from my research, so you can ask if you'd like, I'll be glad to explain! Most of my research was from Theoi Project - Greek Mythology, and Brittanica, and probably some others I've since forgotten, so if you know any good Greek Mythology resourses and books, please share!

So that's my list. I don't really have a rhyme or reason for why each number is each, but I did clump together gods with similar domains because that's where they were easiest to find in my research... I honestly think kids of minor gods are very underused in TOA fics, and even in PJO and HOO to an extent. Jillie, my nine year old daughter of Gelus with a contageous laugh? One of my fave OCs.

As for Roman gods and goddess, I'm not as knowledgable, but hopefully I'll make a spreadsheet for plausable godly parents, though unlike CHB it doesn't need to be organized as there's just Cohorts. I don't write Camp Jupiter fics all that often, but it'll be a good resource to have if I choose to.

So as y'all know I love putting niche details/references from the books into my pjo fanfics. And I thought I'd post my list of interesting things I noted down from Wrath of the Triple Goddess in case anyone else wants to use them too:

⚠️(Minor?) Spoilers for Wrath of the Triple Goddess !⚠️( its just really niche details from the book tho, but might give away some of the plot so better safe than sorry)

Riptide (in sword form) can sketch glowing lines on asphalt that no regular mortals could see. The markings last about 3 hours before fading away—less if it rains.

Percy has a celestial bronze hellhound whistle for Mrs O'Leary with a 'Leo+Percy 4ever' inscription that lights up rainbow when blown.

Demigods can and do use Aurae (windspirits) to send messages.

Chiron has chronic leg pain from being shot by Hercules. Can't be healed.

We knew this but I think it's important to reiterate: Gods know when their name is said. It's the divine equivalent of a butt-dial!

Hecuba can summon the dead. And Hecate's torches can raise ghosts.

Nico took Percy Christmas shopping in Florence.

Annabeth calling Percy "hero"

Passengers of extensive shadow travelling can get a 'post-shadow hangover' (which consists of over-tiredness, nausea, and headaches)

Grover likes clubbing.

Grover still has the wedding-dress outfit from the sea of monsters.

Percy's handwriting looks like "cuneiform chiselled by a drunk Sumerian", Annabeth's is legible.

HECATE'S SCHOOL OF MAGIC (from 1913-1914), would be a good setting for a magic school au, dark academia au, etc.

Grover as a Cloven Elder can 'ground himself' — literally covering himself with dirt and leaves in a trance-like, shaky state, which attracts animals (or at the very least attracts squirrels and their adopted rat) He connects with everything alive in a large radius except humans. And there is a chance he will dissolve into nothing.

We got more scenes of Percy controlling liquids (not just water) including potions, sweat, tears. He has the ability to dehydrate a person.

Potions created/mentioned (and weren't destroyed during the book): 'Miracle' by Aeaea (love potion) and 'Spellbound' by Fancy Water (paralysis)

The product 'Gale' by Scents Forever was destroyed along with the store, its effects are unknown.

Brown Toad Eye is a curative dried mushroom that hastens wear-off time of magical potions.

Annabeth carries a dagger (though she lost Luke's in Tartarus—maybe a new one? or just an inconsistency since her sword is not mentioned)

Celestial Bronze bees are a thing?!

Sally Jackson met Hecate as a kid! I need to read a timeline where Sally is a witch <3

Eudora and Hecate running their school together and it eventually falling apart due to the war. (I would read the shit out of this. Maybe I'll write it one day).

So I’ve been reading Bibliotheca (aka The Library of Greek Mythology) by Pseudo-Apollodoros (sometimes just called Apollodoros, translations are fun), mostly because it’s the only surviving source of some myths.

But like, as someone who also writes PJO fan fiction, some of the little details I’m learning are wild in the context of the PJO universe.

Like apparently, Poseidon had a grandson named Perseus who is not the Perseus who killed Medusa.

And Meleager, the guy who Frank’s fire stick lifeline thing is based on, some versions have him as a son of Ares.

Speaking of Frank, his ancestor, Periclymenus, that he inherited his animal powers from. Ya, Periclymenus had eleven brothers, and Poseidon only gave him shapeshifting powers, even though all twelve of them are his grandsons.

Amphitrite and Eudora might be sisters. (There’s two Amphitrites mentioned, and I’m trying to figure out if they are the same person, and if not, which one is married to Poseidon.)

There’s just so many interesting little details in here that could have some interesting implications in the PJO universe.
