Read the Description!!! Recently on twitter I saw that they posted a somewhat old news, that they had found some mummified animals of the Pleistocene of 40,000 years ago, among those remains I am struck by the head of a giant wolf similar to canis dirus only that the head was still whole with skin and hair and what is surprising is that he still had the color of when he was still alive. So I drew the Wolf and painted it based on the color of the Wolf's head, a Coyote and the Ethiopian Wolf, mix the colors and I must admit that I stay well, regarding the species of the wolf, experts concluded that by the shape of the skull and tooth position, which does not belong to the Canis Dirus species but could belong to a prehistoric variant of the Gray Wolf called Canis Cf. Lupus. Lupus. #animaldrawing #canislupus #canisdirus #wolf #graywolf #wolfhead #coyote #canislatrans #canissimensis #ethiopianwolf #prehistoricwolf #drawingpainting #canis https://www.instagram.com/p/B5rRDT2l-cP/?igshid=1o9lcvdt6ln71

The Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme (EWCP) has played an instrumental role in helping the people of Ethiopia learn about and protect the rare and unique Ethiopian wolf, a special animal that lives only in their country. Click the link in the bio to check out a full presentation from our 2017 Fall Wildlife Conservation Expo where Dr. Jorgelina Marino discusses what it will take to save them. The Ethiopian wolf is a canid native to the Ethiopian Highlands. It is similar to the coyote in size and build, and is distinguished by its long and narrow skull, and its red and white fur.  : Did you know: It is believed that there are less than 500 Ethiopian wolves still remaining. #FINALLY!!! I have waited 10 years for this: seeing an #EthiopianWolf (one of the rarest canids on Earth and #Africa's most endangered #carnivore). On this trip, we saw FOUR! There are only around 150 left in the park. The figure for the total remaining in the world is disputed, but some estimate it to be between 200-400. #beautiful #life #happiness #thisisethiopia #travellingwithfriends #Ethiopia (at Bale Mountains National Park)

To protect Africa's most endangered carnivore, the Ethiopian wolf, rabies vaccines have been hidden inside goat meat baits and spread across their territory. Research shows that 90% of the wolves that eat the bait develop immunity. | Photo: Claudio Sillero/EWCP | #Ethiopia #Ethiopianwolf #wolf #pup #puppies #puppy #conservation #wildlife #wildlifephotography #wildlifeconservation #hope #fieldwork #vaccine #rabies #research #science #endextinction #ConservationOptimism #KeyConservation Read more here: https://buff.ly/2RfznqN

As their name suggests, Ethiopian wolves are endemic to the mountains of Ethiopia. These canids are the most threatened in the world and the only wolf species found in Africa. They are at the top of the food chain of the ecosystem in the area they inhabit, thus having no predatory enemies in the wild. However, widespread disease, habitat loss and other factors are contributing to their decline. Check out our website to see what we are doing to help save this beautiful species.
