Instead of pathologizing every human quirk, we should say, ‘By the grace of this behavior, this individual has found it possible to continue.’

been writing weak hero fanfic AGAIN and i need some validation
please read and give me your HONEST thoughts (also if anyone wants to beta i would really appreciate it)
“Wolf.” Gray says, eyes trailing over the razor-sharp edges of the knives in front of him. “It would be easy to kill someone with these.”
“Yeah, I know, they’re for hunting. You use ‘em to gut the animal.”
“No, I mean a person.” Gray says, and Wolf feels weird.
“Like in a movie? Or Dateline?”
“Like Mrs. Kim from down the street.”
“Oh.” Wolf doesn’t know what to do with this. He feels that maybe he should tell someone, but he doesn’t have anyone to tell, and the way Gray is looking at him makes it hard to think.
“Yeah.” Gray opens the glass cabinet door, and reaches out to touch a knife. He traces the curve of the blade with his fingertip, ignoring the sweet beads of blood that bloom on the pad of his finger. Wolf can’t tear his eyes away. “It would be easy. You’ve been in a lot of fights. Haven’t you ever wanted to kill someone?”
Yes. All the time, when people irritate him and even when they don’t. When he’s fighting them, and he wishes he could really go crazy.
Gray’s got this look in his eyes that makes Wolf feel like he would do anything for him.
“I guess? Mostly I’m focused on winning.” That’s not true. Mostly he’s focused on doing as much damage as possible, making the other person feel as much pain as possible. Winning isn't an afterthought, but it’s not the first priority either.
“Really?” Gray asks, with a slight tilt of the head. “You always look like you want to kill them.”
“I mean, I don’t want to lose.”
“I guess not.”

Juniper and Graywolf having a little run in a heather-speckled moor.
The first thing I drew entirely on my new computer, exclusively with my tablet. It's kinda messy but I'm still a wee-bit proud of myself! Doubles as an anatomy study on canids, since cats are my natural comfort zone.
Characters: Juniper - small brown werewolf, they/them :: Graywolf - larger gray werewolf with the scar across his eye, he/him

I just saw youtube translated serovolk as "graywolf". And yeah a nickname of Sergei, Seryi, means gray!
That's such a cute shipname.

Two gray wolves (Canis lupus) photographed at Bush Gardens. The wolf is the largest member of the Canidae (dog) family, with a range extending through Alaska and parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Wyoming. Gray wolves share their ancestry with domestic dogs, coyotes, and wild dogs such as dingoes. Scientists consider the gray wolf to be the species from which most other wolf subspecies evolved. Gray wolves are know as a keystone species. After they disappeared from Yellowstone, the size of the park’s elk population exploded. The elk ate many plants, especially young seedlings and willows, growing along the rivers. Normally, the roots of these plants help hold the soil in place. So the dramatic decrease in these plants led to erosion along the riverbanks, which destroyed habitats for animals like beavers and songbirds. Biologists in Yellowstone began exploring the idea of bringing Canadian wolves to the park and on January 12, 1995 the first eight wolves arrived from Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. In the years that followed, wolves brought the elk population down and protected the open valleys from overgrazing. However, the number of elk killed was double than estimated and many local hunters stirred controversy by protesting that the wolves will end up killing all of the elk. Today the debate is still strong, according to thoughtco.com, nwf.org and yellowstone.com. @jaypaulphoto #graywolf #wolf @buschgardensunofficial (at Bush Gardens) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpyl3RjuV-XVJG9XDQVxBQpt5wQAe8KRttXfBI0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

"Unrest in Baton Rouge" by Tracy K. Smith
"Unrest in Baton Rouge" after the photo by Jonathan BachmanOur bodies run with ink dark blood.Blood pools in the pavement’s seams. Is it strange to say love is a languageFew practice, but all, or near all speak?Even the men in black armor, the onesJangling handcuffs and keys, what elseAre they so buffered against, if not love’s bladeSizing up the heart’s familiar meat?We watch and grieve. We…
