Khare does not know how to use a gun. She snatched the one belonging to her cell guard upon knocking him out but had no idea how to use it, eventually leaving it behind back in the mountains. Cindy on the other hand is very well-practised when it comes to using firearms, learning self-defence after getting kidnapped by the Mad Hatter. Jerry once worked as heavy muscle for Scarface and has no problems using guns but rarely needs to pull one out, being six and a half feet tall and weighing almost 300lbs of solid muscle.
#🌈 || musings#🌈 || headcanons#gun mention tw#gun mention cw#Her British ass has no idea how to handle a gun lmao#Just thought that would be a fun fact since I never mentioned this before#And how rarely trouble happens at the diner#Especially after the Scarecrow incident#Khare being the newest staff member has yet to make any serious run-ins with rogues#Cindy looks harmless but she can kick ass#Jerry is sweet but most people think twice about causing trouble when he has to step out of the kitchen#Looks scary af and is built like a fucking tank but loves his baby sisters#But yeah if you hand Khare a gun she's got no idea how to use it#Got work in a bit then I'll see about responses tomorrow#Feeling in a better headspace thank you all!

Gotham Map
whoo! I'm not 100% done but if I don't stop now I will never stop.
over a month of work and I can now say I have completed my own map on Gotham!
as well as Bludhaven and summer set,
Bludhaven famously being the sister city of Gotham and primary haunt of Nightwing.
Summerset is a community between the two cursed cities that is just extrodinairaly normal. (I don't know what comic it is but I got the name from one I was looking at.) but here's the panel.
(No idea what issue this is from, I was browsing quickly through a large collection of older Batman comics and didn’t have time to sit and read it yet.)
So! Some Good Golly Gosh Context for the existence of this map. Before someone comes at me for non cannon accurate information and BS I'm about to pull.
This map was created for my use for a Transformative work I started toying with the idea of, that now has a hundred something chapters drafted (note: Drafted dose not mean written only one of those chapters is written and available to read. Dandelion puffs)
found here:
this map is a combination of the (mostly taken as) Cannon Map and the map that briefly appeared in "the Doom That Came to Gotham" film. the main inspiration for the Fanfic Idea. as well as things scavenged from Fannon and my own head cannon. some parts of it are also cobbled together from other bits of cannon, things such as the long halloween, Batman Year one, the one Nightwing comic I have read all the way through, a Batwoman and Catwoman comic, The Arkham Knight games, Actual maps of New Jersey (I mentioned that in my previous post about this map), The Harley Quinn Show, Joker (that movie) especially the subway map that apparently appeared in that film. Multiple Batman films... I'm not actually sure what batman movies I have watched just that one of them had Ra's Al Ghul and the scarecrow in them and featured the Narrows, and the 2022 batman film, and birds of prey. I really should have been keeping track of all the inspirations I used. I do that for Original works... but not for fan works as I'm not that used to making them or something.
this map operates with the assumption that the year is somewhere around 2020. and that in 1920 the city of Gotham suffered from a destructive fire. (see events of the doom of Gotham)
and in the late 1950s suffered from a catastrophic earthquake. (haven't read it but heard through the grapevine about Batman: no mans land. lots of the online maps reference it)
Also opperates under lovecraftian horror rules, because that's what this elderich horror AU...
the colors are a bit hard to see unfortunately, but they are mostly for my own use.
Gangs of Gotham:
Lime Green-Jokerz: they have close ties to the cult of the clown posse. operate mainly around the Amusement mile.
Scarlet red-Redhood: Headed by the mysterious Warlock Redhood. the gang is relatively young but rose to power quickly in 2005. most of Park Row (aka crime ally) and some of the surrounding areas are under the red hoods control.
they took their name from an earlier gang that was wiped out by the jokerz. The higher members of the gang jokingly refer to themselves as Red hood's merry men.
Red hood has a deep hatred for the Joker and Black mask considers him his primary rival.
Cyan Blue-Siloni: A Gotham grown mob, that consists of many different families that merged to become a singular mob.
Indigo-Moronei: Major rivals to the Falconies, they also got mostly destroyed in the same incident that destroyed their rival gang, but there where people to pick up the pieces
Gold-Cosa Nosta: a collection of families mobs originating from Sicily
Grey-Falconies: in the early 1940s the family was nearly destroyed following a series of incidents.
Dark green-Thorn: American Gangsters.
Colbalt blue-Penguin: Took their name after the moniker used by a professor at Gotham university. Rose to prominence in the 1920s during probation as the main go too if you wanted to set up a speak easy. under the leadership of Ms. Ollie "the penguin" Cobb. the gang was nearly taken over by the falcons in the 30s but after the destruction of the original falcon famaly managed to establish themselves. even operate as a half legitimate business a good portion of the time.
Orange-Lucky hare: collective term for the Irish mobs such as the Rileys, Sullivans, and so on.
Maroon-Black Mask: Run by the ambitious warlock Roman Sions Aka Black Mask. dominating he aria of the Bowery, He and the Red hood have a very violent Rivalry. He covet's Red hood's "red burial shroud." and territory. The black mask gang has ties to both the older sionis mob and the false face society.
yellow-Maxia: the gang Run by Maxie Zeus and the twelve olympians. the gang was founded by Greek immigrant Maxine Seuss. former Archeologist who went a bit mad after the death of her husband and daughter. she immigrated to the United States in 1922, after her American husband's death. her son Maximilian took over after his mother.
pale pink-Yakuza: are what they say on the Tin, operate both in Gotham and in Bludhaven.
purple-Scareface: one of the old Gaurd of street gangs. Is headed by scareface” and his Vantriliquist. Scareface is a man who was opporating in Gotham back in the 1890s and 1910s but was hung by the place that later became Blackgate Penitentiary. He was also the man who ordered the death of Cyrus Gold and the subsiquent dumping of his body in Slaughter swamp.
brown-whispers: the collective name used for the Russian and Ukrainian mobs in the area. They operate partly out of the old subway tunnels. Mainly consists of the Ibansscas and Odessa gangs but there are others referred to by the collective term.
jade green-Evening Dragons: collective term for a good deal of gangs and organizations that have East Asian origins or influences.
this includes the East side dragons, Ghost Dragons, Golden dragons (might see where the name came from) the Lucky Hand Triad, Hanoi tan.
sky blue-Whites: A merger of the Black gaters gang and the Gangs run by Warren White "the shark".
pink-Other: a bunch of smaller gangs, gangs that are not organized or seen as being one of the largest players. gangs that are less well established or gangs that are extremely local to a certain neighborhood.
Intergang (metropolis baisses), street Demonz (local biker gang), the Mutants, sprang bridge soldiers, Burntly Town Massive, Decons, Escabedo Cartel, The stonewall Drug lords, Pealuan cartel, Skevers, Moon, and para military groups like Bane's and TYGER. and on rare occasions when Two-Face's Gang on the periodical basis that they become an issue.
Cults of Gotham:
I'll probably make some other post on a more in-depth chat about the cults of Gotham, the Occult comunity, and how they interact with the gangs, elite and citizens of Gotham. but that's not this post. here's a quick overview.
-Cult of Ghul: its leaders were destroyed in 1920. prior to this they had a lot of influence in Gotham as the guardians of the Lazarus pits that exist below the city. after the 1920s they lost most of thir influence, they still ave plenty of influence in other parts of the world with the surviving al ghul daughter.
-Court of Owls: been around forever want "what's best for Gotham" at least what they think is best, after the dismantling of the Cult of Ghul took over as the head honchos in the city.
-Baset's cats: Catwoman runs this cult, its a sect that broke off from a cult in New Orleans.
-Court of the yellow sign: They're a problem, and looking to make themselves everyones problem. very popular among the elite as it is a lot about pleasure and indulgence, and theatrics. work often and closely with the cult courts and the wounderlanders.
-She who Breaths: has a few other names, but is primairly a fertility and prosperity cult dedicated to Shub Niggurath and simular entities. they have a close and cordial relationship to the Green lady and is well respected among the Gotham and surrounding areas cults.
-Court of winter: the local fairy court.
-False face society: have a lot of pull and sway in the criminal underworld. also deal with the fay and vampire population of Gotham.
-Rail hoppers: A strange and loosely organized secret society whose worship revolves around the public transit system... people aren't really certain what thier deal is. but they're normally harmless.
-Pain: pain anyone? sort of your typical demon worshipers.
-Dead's Dawn Society: they have some weird beliefs around necromancy. the bats and birds is a decisive topic.
-Clown posse: people who believe that they can somehow appease the Entity known as the Joker. its a bit more complicated than that.
-Green Lady: Worshipers of the green.
-Bat and Bird watchers: one of the most yet least organized cults on the list. they aren't always considered a cult by the other cults in Gotham and has many facets to them. the
-Torch bearers: worshipers of Yeb and Nug. more so Nug than Yeb.
-Mad Society: AKA the brotherhood, a section of Gotham vampires worship here and seek to bring about the end of humanity and have vampires rule the world. or something along those lines.
also might want to create an army of werewolf women. this causes issues with the wounderlanders.
-wonder landers: in reality encompasses a great number of smaller cults who are all associated with the dreamland and dreamland deities in some way or another. but the main part style themselves after the book Alice in wonderland, the Avatar of the Elder God Hypnos. the current Batwoman's sister is a member.
-Triad: worshipers of the Earth Gods Lobon, Zo-Kalar and Tamash.
-Court of Dagon: Mostly dock workers and Deep ones who worship Dagon and Mother hydra.
-Court of truth: primarily worshipers of Aletheia, have some loose connections to the order of Saint Dumas.
-Court of stone: a group who seeks the caves of Solomon. spend a lot of time spelunking in the tunnels and cave systems of Gotham.
Stops on the Railway system.
H. Red Line: Redwall, Avalon hill, bludhaven port, the spine, old station, Melville station, Drawbridge station, Mealtide park, span bridge station, Gotham university, Cemetery hill, city council, Gold Gotham station.
8. Sea Line: Arkham, Arkham bridge park, Eastside, dockside, old city hall, memorial park, old Gotham, city council, Cemetery hill, Southside, span bridge station, lainly point station, Mealtide park, train yard.
0. Silver line: Steel st, Wayne Central, clock tower, city hall, central library, Roman st. Ottisburg, Park row, old Gotham
J. Tree line: Ash st. Oak st. clock tower. chinatown, Alder st. park row, Lemur park, spring st. cherry lane. Robinson park, Ottisburg, Roman st. Old Town
K. Central line: Wane central, clocktower, Penguin station, Millers Harbor, china town, old town.
9. the Loop: Wayne Central, Owl station, Burnley, Penguins station, Elliot Center, Precinct station, justice station,
A. Amusement line:Airport terminal, Kane street, Riverside, stadium, blackgate, Sheldon park, city hall, clock tower, Wayne central.
(some stations are not yet named, especially on the silver line, central line and tree line.)
the city also has an extensive Bus and Tram system, but if I drew that I may actually go crazy and try to bite someone's head off.
(stuffs mislabeled slightly on this map below but its accurate enough)
Parks
Robinson park- a park just outside of park row. its said to be the domain of some strange being known as poison ivy.
Memorial park-houses the 1920s fire memorial.
Wayne park- between North City park and Southside park. its located in the Financial district.
Sheldon park- the park next to the amusement mile. it could use some clean up, but is popular with teens and explores as it allows for an easy access to the cave systems of Gotham.
Southside park- houses the Gotham City zoo. and just outside of the flood area of the Cauldron.
North city Park- near the Gotham central hospital.
Lemmars park- in the cherry hills district. it was converted from the old Lemmars and other farm lands when the city expanded.
Arkham bridge Park- a rather large and wild park that takes up much of the eastern coast of Old Gotham Island.
Anders park- a small park south of Robinson park. its well known for cult activity.
I'll figure out the bridge situation some other time, just know that for this Span Bridge is the one that connects Bludhaven to Gotham.
Districts.
1.Bristol- Island home to Gotham's Elite and Wealthy. the entire island essentially acts like a gated community. there is no metro trains to Bristol but there are a handful of bus stops. home to Gotham Academy a prestigious K-12 private school. Wayne manor and Drake manor are both located in Bristol.
2. Old Gotham- Mostly destroyed in the 1920s fire. the revitalization and rebuilding of the district left it with a very Art deco look.
home to the city council, the old city hall, and the Old Library.
3. Downtown-Built in a gothic revival style as an honor to the cities name and legacy. its history has been shifting with its demographic for years. still a rather populated and well lived in neighborhood, even if some businesses have moved to the financial district.
on the other side of the water to the area known as the Cauldron
4. Arkham City- Relatively unpopulated compared to other other parts of the city. is notable for its unique Victorian Gothic revival architecture. a lot of the structures are original to the area as Arkam Island survived relatively unscaved from the 1920s fire and the earthquake in the 1950s. the more populated parts of the island are heavily crowded and home to the failed "ark project" and the failed "wounder city." the most famous feature of this district is located on a small island just off the coast of the larger Arkham Island, and that is the infamous Arkham Asylum.
north of Arkham island are three islands of Founders, Bleake, Miagani Islands.
5. Docks- the main Port and Docking Area of Gotham. there are a lot of warehouses and industrial buildings in this area. also home to plenty of famous food stands and hole in the wall places like Mama Mathew's shrimp, as well as a good assortment of Bars and Dives, such as Sandyhood, Noonan's and Siren's whale (favorite bar of the Gotham City sirens).
the docks also hosts the Empty water tower that has Become one of Omen's Roosts. (note: Omen is Red Robin)
6. Parkrow- More well known as Crime Ally. once a prosperous neighberhood, it survived both the 20s fire and the 50's earthquake and fallout of both incidents. in the 80s, some of the area was redeveloped into "projects", though crime had already been on an upward spike since the 30s. some classic revival buildings survive from the cities heyday.
the old courthouse that hadn't been in use since 1903 was in this district as well as the famous monarch theater. and Leslie's Clinic.
the district has the cheapest renting all of Gotham but also a huge homeless population.
home to the Oldman building, the abandoned fire station, and is well known to be the haunt of the Red hood and the strange spirit known as the red wraith.
park row has its own community culture. you are likely to get stabbed.
7. Narrows- A narrow strip of land between the South (old Gotham) and North (new Gotham) islands. it is densely packed with buildings that frankly are not up to code. its just as densely packed with people. people make the best of the situation they find themselves in.second cheapest rent in the city, largely lawless.
jacks junkyard is a bit of lifeline in the area.
8. China Town- this districts architecture and open-air markets are what the it is famous for. Alongside its colorful nightlife (and we aren't talking bats!) Traditionaly played host to the cities east Asian immigrant communities. some parts of the districts are known as Korea-town or little Japan, there is also the statue street, that traditionally housed a lot of immigrants from India. the district is well known for having its own spin on the cities beloved gargoyles.
9. Little Italy- little Italy and the surrounding areas play host to many immigrant communities from the 1830s to 1950s. it rebuilt stronger and better both after the 1920s fire and the 1950s earthquake.
home to Maroni's pizzeria, leaty tile bar and the falcon statue.
10. Bay Ridge- another mainland district on the east side of the river.
11. Dimond District- the crystal, and glass facade that covers up much of the corruption of the city.
a popular district with locals and tourists both.
houses the main precinct of the GCPD, the County court house
12. Fashion district- An extension of the Dimond district but houses many more shop and places of entertainment. it's known for its 1950s futuristic appearance as it had to be rebuilt after the 1950s earthquake. has few fewer gargoyles compared to the rest of Gotham. relies on a series of flood dykes to keep from flooding. less prone to flooding compared to the poorer district of Coventry.
part of the area known as the cauldron.
13. Burnly-a large district that is a mix of residential, financial and industrial. it's a safeish neighborhood. though there's plenty of issues, but if you follow common sense rules for Gothem you should be fine... probably. its not as safe as some of the rich neighborhoods, or the mainland neighborhoods.
Gotham cathedral is in burnley, the watchtower is at the edge of the district.
14. Coventry- home to the Central library, the Elliot center, Iceberg lounge and millers harbor.
Millers harbor was created by the use of floodwalls and dykes in order to drain portions of the once marshy land and create a new part of gottam city. as a result most of millers harbor and coventry sits below sea level and is prone to flooding.
part of the area known as the cauldron.
15. City hall district- has a lot of crossover with the financial district and Dimond district. City hall, Gold hotel, National history museum are all located in this district.
16. Financial district- home to office buildings of most of Gothams companies. including the influencial Wayne industry. there are also several upscale apartment buildings in the area. Wayne tower is located here and the cities Subway system has its central station
the historic clock tower is towards the edge of the district.
17. Tricorner- a handful of small neighborhoods but the island is less populated, there is several industrial areas here, such as Kane industry having their plant in the area. Fort Damas is located on this island. its an inactive fort, and is now a historical site.
18. Newtown- a residential neighborhood with classic brick houses, different areas of knew town have different and rather recognizable styles.
19. Cherry hills- once upon the time used to be orchards. though there was space city earlier, the area was built up a lot on the 1970s. it is a pleasant area famous for the flooring trees that are in the area some still around from when the area was farmland. its also a testament to the fact that Gargoyles never go out of style in Gotham, even when the city dose brutalism. its a popular place especially during in spring. Bech tower is located in cherry hills.
20. the Bowery- the third cheapest place to live in in Gotham. the Bowery suffers a lot from the same issues that its neighboring district the Narrows and Park Row. Most buildings in the Bowery are Brick or stone. Gargoyles are quite popular here.
Black mask dominates the streets. Sal's Dinner and Hogan's ally Bar.
21. Upper Gotham-part of West Gotham
22. Lower gotham-part of West Gotham
23. Robbinsville-East side of Gotham river.
24. Lesser Gotham- the largest district on the new Jersey main land. it's practically its own city and was built up during the 1950s. its got its own police precinct (I feel like that's the wrong word) hospital, fire station and schools. probably one of the safer places to live in Gotham, but its still Gotham. people who move into Gotham from outside and can afford it tend to move here. largest issue is that
25. Gotham town- facing The Atlantic Ocean, its a relatively industrial area housing Star labs, Orion chem, Cobolpot steal and one branch of Wayne enterprise.
26. Ottisburg- A quite popular neighborhood, fox tech is located here.
27. Gotham Achors-located on the east bank of the River. A good deal of bridges that go into Gotham proper are here.
28. Midtown- part of West Gotham. location of Gotham general hospital.
29. Gotham village- part of the suburbs of Gotham, located in the west bank of Gotham River (seriously that's what it's called?) the Gotham Aquarium is found here.
30. East side- connected to the down town area, east side is a nebulous region that includes districts like the docks, millers harbor and down town.
31. South side- relatively industrial area. in recent years has seen revitalization in the form of parks and green spaces. relatively considered a tourist attraction as people from bludhaven will actually visit the area. its water front is relatively clean, and its proximity to Gotham university means that entertainment venues get a good deal of traffic.
the ferries to Gold Island and metropolis leave from that area.
gold island hosts the "statue of lady justice" that stands at the entrance to Gotham Bay.
within south side is the rust district. its still largely industrial and
32. Amusment Mile- Createdwith the intention of it being a boardwalk, it has several venues and pairs that fulfill the purpose. it is mostly safe during daylight hours, but should be avoided by anyone who's not looking to risk thier life at dawn or dusk, and especially it is ill advised to go there at night unless accompanied by a member of the clown posse, even then... the chance is high of encountering a certain clown prince of crime and his carnival of fools.
33. Harthrow Docks- part of East Gotham. A private docking area. was rebuilt in the 1920s. unlike millers harbor in coventry its a natural harbor.
((Also I welcome suggestions and idea on the "personality" of the different districts and locations that exist there and what the places look like.))
A huge thank you to @downtherabbittrail and @theredhoodedcryptid.
the red hooded cryptid gave suggestions on maps to use as resources.
I recommend checking out her cryptid batfam fic its quite nice.
meanwhile I stole (got permission from) Downtherabbittrail to use a lot of the street names they invented for one of their fics.
other street names are scavenged from other sources (cannons or cannons) as well as me just making stuff up.
Here are several closeups of the parts of the maps. Still illegible but it is what it is.
Here is a close up of bludhaven. It’s a lot more accurate to the maps I found online. especially compared to the maps I used for Gotham.
Things to know about bludhaven.
It’s the sister city to Gotham and is on the other side of Gotham Bay.
Bludhaven was founded as a port for whalers. It never saw as large success as its sister city. As the city of Gotham is practically a city state in some regards. The city of bludhaven survived in part thanks to its close relation with Gotham and its businesses.
As well as seeing a steady stream of crime in its waters since the very early days of the settlements existence. The Span bridge crossing over into bludhaven ascos the Gotham straight was built in 1878.
the overall architecture of the city is more modern, but a lot of Americana style brick houses and apartments are around.
Bludhaven districts- I can tell you less about these, as I'm having harder time finding info, might have something with bludhaven blowing up in cannon at some point?
Centeral business district- is what it says on the tin. houses both bludhaven's main hospital and the BHPD (bludhaven police department.)
2. Melville-the older parts of Bludhaven and Bailey's church. (had a goat named Bailey once, my uncle named her because she stared at him the same way his at the time GF did.)
Melville is also the place where Nightwing's apartment and Roost is.
3. Caernarvon- a more inland portion and houses a great deal of industrial areas as well as many places of worship.
4. LAnely- the peninsula its mainly a residential area
The Spine: is what Bludhaven has instead of a Main Street. It is the largest street in Bludhaven and Acts much like a Strip. with clubs, restaurants, hotels and other establishments. it has a reputation but most of the businesses are legitimate during daylight hours. some business or another is open on the Spine 24 hours of the day. the spine goes right along an industrial area of the Bludhaven port and officially ends just before Avalon Hill
The largest crime boss In Bludhaven was BlockBuster between the years 1989-2007
the largest cults in Bludhaven
-Blood hounds: a local vampire cult. they actually have quite a bit of bad blood with the Mad Society.
-Cormorants: An odd Cult who are the self-proclaimed guardians of Bludhaven. thier opinion on Nightwings presence is a bit split and has caused a schism in the cult.
-night doctors: bad news.
-bird watchers: made a jump over from Gotham when Nightwing moved cities. they also watch the activity of the cormorants
-Rail hoppers: because the Bludhaven Metro and the Gotham Metro connect to each other the Cult of the Rail Hoppers extended their reach with the reach of the public transit.
(There’s a good bit of lacking information online about Bludhaven when I went digging, which is surprising as the city has been in publication since 19, certainly it’s not Gotham that’s been a thing since 19, but still. )
Final note about this map is that it likely will have updates, especially as I get around to writing and growing more confident in my research on the whole thing.

Hi! I saw you did Riddler finding out he had a teenage daughter he never knew about and meeting her so can you do it with all the Scarecrow's too? I dunno the limit to how many charachters can be in a post so just take your time and thank you!
Hell ya Jon being a dad!
Scarecrows with a teenage daughter
Tw:death,fear toxin
Arkham
A man already dealing with quite the past Jonathan crane was of the opinion nothing could surprise him at this point
Oh boy how wrong he was
williamina was the result of a relationship long since dead that he never considered becoming a variable in the future
Mina only being 16 was told repeatedly to avoid any possible contact with her father after the Halloween incident.
Just like her dear old dad,she was quite the rebellious one
Jonathan can’t exactly ignore the resemblance especially the look from the eyes
Turns out with mom mostly being rather on the negligent side Mina needed someone to be there with her during the big years of her life
Jonathan starts finding out he has some rather ingrained parenting instincts
His old teaching habits really come back to him!
Teaching such a young mind his years of well earned knowledge really invigorates his spirit
He certainly doesn’t intend to turn the little prodigy into a lab rat. He’s the master of fear but he’s not a heartless monster
He’s definitely one of those dad’s who sits down and has heart to hearts with his kids over something like tea.
“Come have seat a young one, tell me what clings to your soul.”
He more than anyone knows the kind of someone so young around someone like him needs to be checked on here and there.
She’s definitely going to inherit her father’s more theatrical side let’s be honest with ourselves here.
She’s getting taught every little bit of chemistry he knows, both out of a way to expand his child’s intelligence but also to keep her safe.
Mina helps him when his leg acts up. According to her it’s the least she can do for him
He greatly appreciates it though he’s not always vocal about it
Btas
Very similar to Arkham Jon btas jon is a man who is surprised by such a thing
He was never a ladies man, his previous partners be dammed but that certainly won’t stop him from being apart of Jenna’s life
Especially when Jenna reaches out actually wanting to meet her old man
15 and yet very clingy of her old man, understandable seeing as she doesn’t exactly have a lot of people to turn to
Is definitely the kinda dad who enacts curfew because he’s so damm worried about where his daughter is
Overprotective as hell
“No jenna I don’t want you on the streets after 8! I may be the master of feet but I know Gotham.”
Helping this girl with her homework constantly.
Doesn’t exactly want her involved with his criminal work directly, last thing he wants her is going to Arkham
Kids don’t belong in a place like that
Edward and jervis easily become her “uncles” Incase something happens to her hold man
Jenna has giggle at one of his master of fear rants
He was grumpy for hours after it
BTAA
Let’s be completely honest here, this man is the most likely to end up accidentally getting bun in the oven, risk is his territory.
The fact he’s even surprised when Lilith shows up to the office of one dr Jonathan crane is a joke in itself.
He doesn’t initially think she’s telling the truth.
Gets corrected almost immediately when he recognizes her mothers name and really takes a good look at the kid
A little apprehensive about even having a kid around.
His general customers are indeed kids around her age range
Lilith however for good or bad inherited daddy’s charisma and charm
He doesn’t immediately tell her about his……….culinary behaviors
Would probably never forgive himself if something happened to her
That doesn’t mean she doesn’t slowly put together whats going on
“You scare people……with drugs?” “I’m providing a service kiddo! Why I’m basically paying for your college education!”
Girl is gonna get spoiled with the amount of drug money he’s pulling in.
Miss autumn ATTEMPTS to help Jonathan navigate the turmoil that comes with one so young
Extremely “your parent is your best friend” relationship
Movie nights are a weekly tradition
Year one
He certainly hasn’t had a lot if healthy relationships in his existence
It wasn’t long ago he went on that hunt to find his own father,Vera was just another who had too.
Genuinely a guilt ridden soul when he finds out.
He may not have known about her but that still doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel like a fool
It’s not out of obligation by blood he takes Vera in but more so because he understands what it’s like to be alone at such a young age .
Definitely a relationship based upon slowly warming up to one another
He’s definitely the over protective type always making sure she isn’t bullied
Lord forbid if they’re ever were they’d be dead within an hour of finding out
Absolutely fosters an adoration for reading

Random Arkham Fun Facts!
Since Arkham Asylum had such a tight budget, majority of the sound effects were made in studio, the most well-known example is the explosive gel sound actually being from a can of whipped cream.
After the Arkham City incident, all of the prisoners were simply freed because there was nowhere to put them. Despite this, majority of them actually gave up crime, leading to the crime rate going down, though some of the thugs had secretly gone on to work for Two Face's gang under the guise of working for Hell's Gate Disposal Services.
Out of all the factions it seems the most trusted group is the miltia working for the Arkham Knight, since they know the Arkham Knight's identity and majority of them aren't psychotic criminals hired for numbers, but are ex-military members who joined because they couldn't adjust to civilian life and Jason offered them purpose.
Jack Ryder's alter ego the Creeper is mentioned multiple times throughout the games, and although he never actually appears he is heavily implied to be canon. Jack Ryder himself mentions that he wishes he had superpowers, which implies the fact that he himself doesn't know he's the Creeper and probably only turns into the Creeper on very rare occasions, especially since he is under stress a lot during Arkham City and Arkham Knight but never transforms.
Frank Boles had actually been working for the Joker for a long time before his murder in Arkham Asylum, as he was one of the main reasons the Joker was never caught torturing Jason, despite him doing so in one of the wings at Arkham Asylum.
Harley Quinn was the one who gave Jason Todd his main alias "Arkham Knight" as during his torture she called him "Arkham's Knight in Shining Armour" believing he would kill Batman so she and the Joker could finally be happy together.
Jason was actually in the Asylum, during Arkham Asylum, but escaped the island during the early parts of Joker's prison break, and thus never ran into Batman.
Most of Jason, Deathstroke and Scarecrow's plan was funded by one of Bruce Wayne's various bank accounts reserved for Batman, leading to millions being stolen without Batman really noticing.
Jason was in Arkham City during Batman's fight in the Steel Mill, and even spoke with Joker one final time before his death.
It’s also implied he was stalking Batman in the prison, as his base has a bunch of photos of Batman and Robin during their talk in Arkham City. This means he was watching this go down from afar.
Before Batman was revealed to actually still be alive in a trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, there was a Batman comic which featured Batman travelling to different universes and meeting alternate Batmen (Batman #900). One of the many Batmen he met was none other than the Arkham Batman, taking place sometime after Arkham Knight where he talks to the main Batman about life after faking his own death and how the Joker keeps plaguing his mind even after his death.
The Asylum has been present in every single game in one way or another. It was the primary setting of Arkham Asylum, it was the base of operations for Hugo Strange's TYGER guards in Arkham City, in Arkham Origins it was planned to be reopened by Quincy Sharp and was further developed in Arkham Origin's DLC's and spin-offs. In Arkham Knight it was where Scarecrow took Batman to reveal his identity and finally in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it has been renovated and reopened with the members of the Suicide Squad currently being prisoners there.
The reason Alfred disappears halfway through Arkham City and is replaced by Oracle is because he was currently busy with the paparazzi at Wayne Manor, all asking questions about Bruce Wayne's recent arrest.
Talia Al Ghul's body keeps disappearing, implying she might've been revived at some point by the Lazarus Pit.
It's likely the film tie-in Assault on Arkham is no longer canon, since King Shark dies in it, Deadshot is the original one, Amanda Waller is implied to be killed in it and finally lots of people are very out of character in the film.
In Arkham Asylum, only Harley, Joker and Scarecrow are in their full costumes. This is because Joker had only just been captured and Harley hadn’t been captured at all. Scarecrow is wearing his costume, though it appears that he was rushed and didn’t put on his entire costume. Every other villain is in their prison clothes.
The smoker at the start of Arkham Knight is Jason Todd. He wears a Red Hood, is carving an "A" into the table (Arkham Knight) and is the one releasing the fear gas into the diner. He is also the one who strikes first, setting off the entire event.

Under My Skin (Jonathan Crane x Reader)
Word Count: 1,222
Summary: Everyone gets under Jonathan Crane's skin, even the one he likes the most. But you're different.
It was easy to get under Jonathan Crane’s skin. Most people were annoying, picky, and irked him. They got under his skin, but you. . . you were different. Oh yes, you did get under his skin. You asked a lot of questions, too many questions. You talked too much about too many things. If he didn’t know you to be an English Literature teacher, he would’ve taken you for a scientist or a philosopher. Your knowledge of the natural world was astounding, along with your takes on the human psyche. It was like a special interest to you, especially the effects of certain fungi on the brain. You were fascinated by the mushroom that controlled creatures, the fungus that moved creatures to its own will.
Jonathan Crane, for the longest time, thought that you knew about his secret identity, especially after he was let go from Gotham University over shooting a gun off in class.
“That was you? I thought it had been an overactive student.” You commented when the two of you had met for coffee after the incident. He had just taken up his mantle as The Scarecrow and was on edge, wondering if you KNEW.
“I’m afraid the students did not appreciate my demonstration and thus I was fired. No one appreciates a good lecture anymore.” Jonathan huffed.
“No, students are changing. Entitled little brats.” You scoffed. “Did I tell you about the class discussion where I couldn’t dock a student points for being a bigot because of the school’s policy? I wanted to expel this student from my class, but the dean insisted it’d be discriminatory against their beliefs, even though said beliefs were bigoted! Can you believe it? I should just quit school and create a life of crime.” You laughed.
Jonathan laughed nervously.
“Yes, a life of crime. And what would you do?” He asked, carefully.
“Hmm. . . maybe I’d perfect an experiment on fungi that can take control of their host, controlling others into doing my bidding. I could release a toxin or cultivate it in a public space so that I could use others to steal money for me. Collecting books is an expensive hobby.” A smile broke out on your face. At that Jonathan could agree.
And that’s where he found himself now. Using his fear toxin he broke into the Gotham University Library, into the old and interesting section. There were many books there of interest, but he only had eyes for one. It was a story collection from the mid-nineteenth century that centered on gothic fairy tales. Haunting and eerie tales that were beloved to many. You had a soft spot for this collection, so much so that he made sure to wear gloves when handling it. Stealing it was easy. Why keep this book hidden away in a library full of ungrateful people? That was his reasoning. You would love and cherish this book. Display it, keep it out of direct sunlight, find pride in it.
Jonathan had invited you over to his apartment to share a cup of tea or coffee when he showed you the book. He handed you a pair of soft, cloth gloves and then bestowed the book to you. This was the moment of truth. Would you know who he was? The theft wasn’t in the news. Who would report on one stolen library book? But would you understand how he got it? Would you see his well-kept secret? Would you accept him for who he had become?
You held the book reverently, easily identifying it as the one from the Gotham University Library. Softly, you whispered, “Jonathan, how did you get this?”
Jonathan had left the room for a moment to get your cups after the tea had finished steeping. “Oh, don’t you know? I’ve begun a life of crime now and stealing books is my goal.” He said as sarcastically as possible.
“You’re not lying.” You spoke. Jonathan stared at you, heart skipping a bit. “You have a tell when you’re lying. It’s like you slip, from the years of academia, and you get a twang to your voice. You’re not lying this time. You really did it, didn’t you? I heard rumors at the University about you, ya know? That you had. . .”
“That I had what?” He asked quietly, holding the cups of tea. You sat on his sofa with the book held to your chest, eyes open so wide.
“They call you the Scarecrow now, don’t they?” It was barely above a whisper.
“That they do, my dear.” Jonathan stared at you intently.
“And you stole a book for me?”
“It would appear so.”
“A favorite of mine. What did you do to get it?” You asked curiously. Jonathan still held the cups, standing in the doorway.
“I have created a fear toxin and I used it to scare the security guards senseless, letting me sneak in to take the book. It was such a small theft that it wasn’t reported. Can you imagine? That University admitting that someone so easily came in and took what they wanted? They’d never admit to it.” He noticed a look on your face, a look of curiosity. A look of interest.
“Is it bad that I’m not scared?”
“Did you know beforehand?” He asked.
“I guessed. . . you know, with how you managed to still live decently after being let go. You seemed to be enraptured in something, but I never could guess what it was. But now. . . this is everything. You’re the Scarecrow! The King of Fear!” You laughed loudly, setting the book on the coffee table. Standing up, you walked over to the doorway and took your cup of tea. Jonathan watched your every move.
“Are you scared?”
“Should I be?” You asked, breathlessly.
“Only if you want to be.” You both stood so closely together, taking up space in the doorway. He took a chance. Jonathan reached out a hand and cupped your face, running his thumb over your cheekbone. He leaned in for a chaste kiss, honestly surprised when you didn’t pull away. You pressed your lips to his and then pulled away before he could ask for more.
“The tea will get cold.” You smiled.
“That’s true.” He nodded.
“Would you read to me?”
“Read to you?”
“Yes, out of the book. I’d like it if you read one of the stories to me.” You walked over to the sofa again. Jonathan sat with you, knees touching. With gloves on, he picked the book up, flipping it open to a random story. You leaned into his shoulder, listening to the drawl of his words. As he read, his southern accent came out, making the words drip like honey. Jonathan’s eyes scanned the pages, occasionally glancing at you. He never wanted this moment to end. But every story had to have an ending.
“I almost wish the tale didn’t have to end.” He commented when you finished the gothic retelling of Red Riding Hood.
“You could always steal me another book and we could keep doing this.” He liked that little smirk that came on your face. “We could have our own personal library. You read me a story. I read you a story. It doesn’t have to end with this.”
“Oh, my dear, it’s just beginning.” Jonathan smiled, carefully shutting the book.

Hey! I'm after reading your platonic yandere Riddler with a teenager/kid that tried to escape and it got me thinking 🤔.
What would it be like if it was with arkham knight scarecrow?
(Same prompt as riddlers one just with scarecrow)
Please and thank you 。◕‿◕。
YANDERE AK SCARECROW CATCHES READER ESCAPING
MALE CHILD READER. PLATONIC HCS.
You couldn’t stop yourself from clenching your fists every time you thought about Scarecrow. Every waking moment you had to spend in his lab was starting to drive you crazy. All the screaming, fighting, fear and helplessness…last time you helped him restrain his victim , you came out of it with deep, ugly scratches on your arms, far worse than previous sessions.
You tried to hide them from Jonathan, god bless anyone who becomes the recipient of his anger, but it’s difficult to keep things from someone who’s worked with all sorts of people in his career, who knew every tell of yours down to the last uneasy twitch. And tears are hard to hide for a child who’s fought to keep their emotions down for so long.
Suffice to say, that test subject never left the session with his face intact. That dose of toxin was far greater than you’d ever seen administered; the poor man writhed and clawed like he was trying to dig it out of his very flesh, and nobody seemed to care that you were standing right there to witness it all…
You tossed and turned all night, wishing your memory could be scrubbed with a sponge. Why did you put up with this? Why would a “father” act so callous? Sure, he may feed you, clothe you, soothe you through your nightmares… but that all must be a front, for a man who enjoyed to watch people suffer.
All you needed was the perfect distraction. Something that would disrupt his routine enough that you would be the last of his concerns.
That’s right. The fear toxin! It would be a real shame if he got a taste of his own medicine.
Scarecrow didn’t mind you exploring all that much, it was only natural for a child, and besides, he was hoping you would start to gain genuine interest in his work eventually.
You knew exactly where he kept his pressurized containers of nightmare fuel. They were sitting in the lab with that macabre exam table, sharing a wall with your bedroom…
So you set up a trap, one that would trigger the room to fill up with toxin when Crane went in for his next experiment…
And while that was going on, you would hopefully be halfway across Gotham
Just as you were about to jump down from the window, you felt your body start to tremble, and suddenly the drop seemed much farther below…
You scrambled back onto your bed, only to be confronted by shadows that ran across your walls and the malicious tentacles of a monster reaching for you from under your bed.
You spent the whole night hiding under the covers, praying for it all to be over, until morning came.
Scarecrow seemed particularly smug the next morning, prodding you about how well you slept.
When you went to check what had gone wrong with your trap, you realized that the containers were purposefully set up so that the toxin would move through the vent connected to your room…
You never tried anything like that again.
Scarecrow wouldn’t be a violent yandere, especially to a child, but he loves to fuck with you.
You always feel like something’s wrong, but you can never prove that Scarecrow had something to do with it. You didn’t dare ask him about the fear toxin incident. You knew it would only confirm to him that you had tried to gas him…
For the most part Jonathan doesn’t punish you for it, only throws your attempts back at you like they were nothing, instilling the fear into you that if you ever tried anything, he is more than capable of hurting you ten times greater.
If you do try to escape again after this, he’ll start to grow worried. Why aren’t you being receptive to his ideas? Hasn’t he been a good father to you? Hasn’t he shown you the power fear holds?
Maybe you wouldn’t mind having your pillowcase laced with his toxins at night… those bedtime monsters sure do keep little boys like you in line, don’t they?

Wait could you go more into Salem being glinda? (<- person who is bad at allegories but loves your metas)
ok!!
step one is to clear out everything you’ve ever read about rwby’s ozian allusion from your brain because this fandom keeps trying to make it about the wizard of oz and it’s… nnnot about the wizard of oz. the book we’re going to be talking about as the primary text of reference is the second oz book, ‘the marvelous land of oz,’ which is about what happens after dorothy and the wizard go home.
the reason nobody can figure out who rwby’s “dorothy” is is… there is no dorothy. she’s in kansas and not really relevant to this story except insofar as her journey through oz resulted in the wizard’s departure and the end of the wicked witches of the east and west. she’s The Backstory. and—actually as i write this there, um, there IS a dorothy and now i have to go stare at a wall for a little while.
…
we’ll get there.
context:
at the end of the first oz book, ‘the wonderful wizard of oz,’ the wizard leaves and glinda, the good witch of the south, tells dorothy how to return home to kansas with the glass slippers (which fall off her feet and are lost forever whilst carrying dorothy home)
(the classic film makes something of a mess by combining glinda and the good witch of the north into a composite character, creating the problem of why glinda would not simply tell dorothy how to use the slippers right away. in the book, the good witch of the north sends dorothy to the wizard, who is secretly a fraud, and after he inadvertently leaves dorothy behind she is advised to travel south to consult with glinda instead.)
now, the wizard was the ruler of oz, so his departure created a political problem that he attempted to solve by appointing the scarecrow to rule in his absence. that choice is what ‘marvelous land’ is chiefly about because, you see, before the wizard came along, oz was ruled by a king named pastoria, who had an infant daughter named ozma. then the wizard deposed pastoria, and princess ozma disappeared.
the book’s protagonist is a boy named tippetarius (tip) who’s been raised all his life by the bad witch mombi. tip is in fact ozma, stolen by mombi and transformed into a boy to secure the wizard on the throne of oz. he has no idea; he just knows that mombi isn’t very nice to him and he wants to leave.
when he runs away, he takes with him jack pumpkinhead—a fellow tip made by carving a jack-o-lantern head for a wooden man, animated by mombi’s magic. their relationship is quasi-parental (jack calls tip “father” but tip is, you know, a boy and not especially fatherly). they’re joined by a living saw horse en route to the emerald city. the trio is briefly separated, with jack and the horse rushing ahead and being received by the scarecrow while tip is waylaid and meets general jinjur, who is leading an army of revolt to the emerald city to overthrow the scarecrow.
that happens. jinjur wins more or less by default because the soldier with green whiskers, who guards the emerald city’s gate, is too cowardly to fight them and simply lets them into the city. the scarecrow flees, along with tip, the sawhorse, and jack. this motley crew heads west to winkie country, once the domain of the wicked witch of the west, now ruled by nick chopper—the tin man. en route to winkie country, the scarecrow mentions to jack that pumpkins rot and jack spends the remainder of the story in a state of ever-present existential dread over his imminent decay.
anyway, nick accompanies them back to the emerald city, along with the woggle-bug—a very large, knowledgeable bug whom none of them like particularly and whose backstory involves transformation by a professor, an incident about which the woggle-bug has ambivalent feelings—whom they meet along the way. they’re hindered by various illusory traps mombi throws at them because she’s trying to get tip back under control.
reclaiming the emerald city from jinjur does not Go Well. they’re forced to flee again, briefly end up stranded in an inhospitable place on the far side of the desert and attacked by birds. the woggle bug saves them by using a silver wishing pill to repair their means of transportation so that they can reach glinda’s home, in southern quadling country.
they want glinda to help them restore the scarecrow to the throne of oz. glinda has other plans, because she’s spent all this time trying to find ozma and set right the wizard’s various injustices. she’s narrowed it down to mombi as the culprit, and upon learning that the witch has hidden herself in the emerald city, she… um, immediately lays siege to the emerald city to “starve it into submission” and flush mombi out, then chases her to the impassable desert at the edge of oz, ties a rope around her neck to silence her magical powers, and bodily drags her back to the emerald city to account for her wrongdoing on pain of death:
Glinda had been carefully considering what to do, and now she turned to Mombi and said: "You will gain nothing, I assure you, by thus defying us. For I am determined to learn the truth about the girl Ozma, and unless you tell me all that you know, I will certainly put you to death." "Oh, no! Don't do that!" exclaimed the Tin Woodman. "It would be an awful thing to kill anyone—even old Mombi!" "But it is merely a threat," returned Glinda. "I shall not put Mombi to death, because she will prefer to tell me the truth." "Oh, I see!" said the Tin Man, much relieved. "Suppose I tell you all that you wish to know,". said Mombi, speaking so suddenly that she startled them all. "What will you do with me then?" "In that case," replied Glinda, "I shall merely ask you to drink a powerful draught which will cause you to forget all the magic you have ever learned." "Then I would become a helpless old woman!" "But you would be alive," suggested the Pumpkinhead, consolingly. […] "You may make your choice," Glinda said to old Mombi, "between death if you remain silent, and the loss of your magical powers if you tell me the truth. But I think you will prefer to live." Mombi cast an uneasy glance at the Sorceress, and saw that she was in earnest, and not to be trifled with.
thus mombi is forced to tell the truth, remove the curse she placed on tippetarius (turning him back into ozma), and take glinda’s potion to strip all of her magical power away.
folds hands.
here are some facts about glinda:
she rules over quadling country—in the oz books, the cardinal kingdoms are all color-coded; northern gillikin country is purple, eastern munchkinland is blue, western winkie country is yellow, and quadling country? red. (glynda goodwitch’s purple is the first hint that she is not glinda, but rather the good witch of the north who believes in the wizard’s power. her absolute faith in ozpin is the second hint.)
glinda is, despite her youthful appearance, implied to be thousands of years old, and by any measure the most powerful sorceress in all of oz.
in demeanor, she is always calm and collected and resolutely truthful; so great is her dedication to the truth that she has no power over mombi’s magical deception and illusions, hence the need to force mombi to undo her own curse. she always knows when she’s lied to, but she can be fooled (fleetingly) by powerful illusions. and she can be utterly ruthless in pursuit of what she believes is right for oz.
she, as noted in the last post, is responsible for freeing the flying monkeys from their enslavement by the golden cap.
now!
the allusions rwby is making to ‘marvelous land’ are really very straightforward—much like cinder and cinderella or salem and maiden-in-tower stories. it is impossible to read the book with rwby in mind and not see the connections:
the god of light is mombi.
ozma is ozma; as ozpin, he has become the wizard (complicit in his own cursed imprisonment), and within oscar he’s tippetarius (a boy who’s lost his true self).
oscar is jack pumpkinhead, ozma’s heir (thus, symbolically, his “son”), brought to life at least symbolically by light’s power (he’s in the story at all because he’s ozma’s vessel), and preoccupied with existential dread inspired by the looming immediacy of his spiritual death.
qrow is the scarecrow, left to carry the symbol of ozpin’s authority in ozpin’s absence and forced to flee beacon, the “emerald city,” by
summer rose, who is general jinjur, holding beacon academy while she searches for the crown. (jinjur spends a considerable portion of the story trying to get the royal crown.)
lionheart is the soldier with green whiskers: not the fearful but truly courageous lion, but the cowardly old soldier who all but hands jinjur the keys to the city in his terror.
ironwood is the tin man, ruling over a land once subjugated by the wizard’s bitter enemy (pre-war, fascist mantle) now remade into a shining and prosperous kingdom under the command of the wizard’s ally (atlas)—and it is he who gives sanctuary to the scarecrow and tip’s party after the emerald city falls, and he who leads the failed first attempt to take the city back by force.
vacuo is the nest of jackdaws where the party ends up stranded, far from oz—they cross a desert to get there and i suspect the point of theodore is to signal that vacuo isn’t “in” oz but rather standing in for the deserts and the lands beyond. because dorothy is in kansas, you see. (he’s not the Real Dorothy, though, we’ll get there momentarily).
the woggle-bug is raven, the maiden of knowledge who knows the secret that will bridge the impassable divide between vacuo and salem; her knowledge of what summer did is the silver wishing pill which, incidentally, poisons tip when he tries to use it.
and salem is, of course, glinda: ancient and aloof and coldly ruthless in her pursuit of the truth, searching for ozma (<- note the congruence here with rapunzel searching for her prince in the wasteland!) and ready to GO TO WAR to bring the god of light to account for what he’s done. i really must emphasize the GOING TO WAR bit: the glinda of the books is not the soft, mistily benevolent lady the classic film makes of her. she has an extremely well-disciplined standing army which she marches on the emerald city with the explicit intention of delivering a siege to “starve it into submission.” mombi looks this woman in the eye, sees death staring back at her, and surrenders with a whimper. glinda is ruthless.
so it isn’t even “glinda would go to war if she thought it necessary” it’s that glinda does in fact go to war and rwby is, with salem, taking glinda’s decision to go to war to achieve her ends very seriously and putting that in a context where salem isn’t revered as a protector and loved by all. the only difference between salem and glinda is that glinda is beloved by the people of oz!
but i also promised you dorothy. so:
allow me to direct your attention back to what glinda does to mombi after ozma’s curse is lifted. mombi is made to drink a potion that causes her to forget all the magic she’s ever learned, leaving her to live as an ordinary old woman—but she is not left alone to suffer afterwards, because ozma makes arrangements to provide for her indefinitely.
this is, of course, what’s in store for the god of light. he’s going to ascend—that’s obvious—and the fairytale ‘the two brothers’ hints quite strongly that he’ll come back as a man (i’d wager a faunus specifically), leaving his power and memories of divinity behind and given a peaceful life in return. mombi’s resolution in ‘marvelous land’ offers a direct 1:1 comparison to ascension.
but what about the god of darkness?
he’s– he’s dorothy.
dorothy doesn’t appear in ‘marvelous land’ and she has no presence in the book whatsoever except as one of the two characters whose departure at the end of the last book created the circumstances that allow this story to occur: it is dorothy’s adventure that convinces the wizard to leave oz, and then she leaves too. the wizard—through mombi, the real power behind his throne—retains his influence and authority over the land of oz until she is forced to undo her wrongs, but dorothy is simply… gone. she went home, she’s remembered fondly by her friends, she has nothing whatsoever to do with this story, and the silver shoes that bore her home at the end of the last book fell from her feet and were lost forever.
(she does eventually make it back to oz, in a roundabout way, by accident. but for rwby’s purposes, and within the context of ‘marvelous land’ taken in isolation, dorothy is Gone Forever.)
afterans refer to the tree as home; they think of ascension as returning home to rest and find renewal after a long journey through the world outside. at the end of her journey through oz, she asks glinda to send her home, and glinda tells her:
“The Silver Shoes," said the Good Witch, "have wonderful powers. And one of the most curious things about them is that they can carry you to any place in the world in three steps, and each step will be made in the wink of an eye. All you have to do is to knock the heels together three times and command the shoes to carry you wherever you wish to go.”
and, as i noted, the shoes carry her home but are lost in the process, never to be found again.
glinda teaches dorothy how to go home. likewise, salem is a repetition of jabber—the argument between the brothers comes full circle—and through this experience dark realizes that he needs to “go home,” i.e. ascend. he’s been trapped in this same disagreement for thousands of years and nothing has changed; nothing will change unless he tries something new. he shatters the moon on his way out and, unlike his brother, there’s nothing to suggest he’s still present in this world or relevant to this story as anything but backstory… because he ascended and became something new.
(the spirits in the relics.)
(which in terms of the ozian narrative, represent the golden cap, which glinda receives from dorothy before she gives it to the king of the flying monkeys to set them all free, so the symbolic through line between dark-as-dorothy becoming the spirits-as-flying-monkeys through his and their relation to salem is relatively straightforward.)
anyway, behold.
toto.

Supernatural Episode Reactions up to S1E19
Episode 1: Sam and Dean look like babies, probably because I'm used to seeing them in more recent seasons.
Episode 2: I thought that not really showing the creature that much was an interesting way to up the stakes of the episode, and probably save money.
Episode 3: This episode was messed up, but it was also one of the first episodes to focus on how humans can create these situations through violence and silence.
Episode 4: I did not know that demons showed up so early in the show, and this one was surprisingly weak compared to the others that I know show up later.
Episode 5: This episode was fucked up and they have to have several decades worth of bad luck after smashing that many mirrors.
Episode 6: I had to text my friends who have seen the entire show to ask if this was the yellow eyed demon or an actual shapeshifter.
Episode 7: The twist of it being the girl who the spirit was latched onto was very fun. Also, there is no way that that fire got hot enough to melt silver, especially not the amount that they were melting.
Episode 8: The bugs being used as the method of death was very interesting and I hope there are more episodes with interesting premises like it.
Episode 9: I immediately knew that the fire spirit was Mary as soon as I realized it was there house. I also thought that John showed up much later in the show.
Episode 10: Again, fucked up episode, but I liked the classic ghost hunting, abandoned building situation.
Episode 11: The fugly scarecrow scene is iconic, and I enjoyed the exploration of Sam and Deans feelings about the road so far, and each other.
Episode 12: I had seen most of this episode at some point, but I appreciate the really hammering down on Sam being just as willing to do anything to save Dean.
Episode 13: I liked the exploration of Dean's character and how he handles relationships outside of his immediate family. I also watched this episode with my mom and she kept saying that the truck was really nice (I know exactly nothing about trucks).
Episode 14: They almost killed Zelda Spellman! I liked the fact that the yellow eyed demon has been confirmed as having killed other people the same way it killed Mary, and that the children of these people have developed similar powers, further connecting these incidents.
Episode 15: I liked that the monster was people, and they were 100% cannibals.
Episode 16: I don't like Meg. I don't know what she is yet, but I do know that she's going to be showing up again, probably by the end of the season. This episode also made me think that John Winchester was not originally intended to be as bad of father as I know he is shown to be throughout the rest of the series. He's still a horrible parent, but he seems to care about Sam and Dean more in the first season than he does later on.
Episode 17: I did not know that the Ghost Facers showed up this early. They're so stupid. Loved the episode.
Episode 18: Fascinating look into the past of Sam and Dean, how Dean and John's relationship works, and how Dean views hunting. I also thought it was spelled "striga" (I have subtitles on).
I will continue reactions tomorrow, and I plan on doing longer, individual posts for each episode. I'll also try to put these into a master list so they're easier to find.
Edit: I'm working on understanding how to make a master list properly, so I might tack multiple reactions into the same post or reblogs for the sake of it not being incredibly long.

Hope you don't mind but can ya write Arkham-verse Scarecrow & Riddler with S/O who was a former Arkham Security Guard before they fell for them and later joined them?
after this is posted i'm rewarding (actually punishing) myself by playing iron banner
Arkhamverse! Riddler & Scarecrow x reader
Warnings / Notes: uhhhhhhhhh captivity is briefly mentioned lol and riddler is a lil bitch
SCARECROW
- Before the croc incident, Many guards avoided dealing with Jonathan more than was necessary. He knows how to get under people’s skin, he doesn’t need his toxin to scare people. People that had dealt with him in the past knew this. The Toxin just made his job easier, more effective.
- So guards took turns dealing with him so that no one had to be with him too much. Especially after he managed to poison his doctor with fear toxin he disguised as cologne.
- But you found him intirguing. Fear is a strong motivator. You knew this, working as a guard – A lot of them would try to scare patients into obedience, which worked. It obviously didn’t work on Jonathan, which frustrated some of the guards. Your approach with him was more polite, if anything.
- But it was just that all hell broke loose on arkham island when you were sick at home. You wouldn’t have even known about it if it wasn’t for the news being all about it. Of course word came from your coworkers that Crane was nowhere to be found, but a bag of his toxin and mask was laying in the sewers, where croc was. You assumed the worst.
- As far as everyone was concerned, The scarecrow – Jonathan Crane was dead. Until he showed up, his face replaced by burlap and thread.
Hiding behind barrels of what you presumed were fear toxin, you held your breath. Your colleagues always said your curiosity would be the death of you. It surely started to seem that way as you listened to Jonathan Crane’s gravelly voice as he talked to someone – a soldier? He didn’t seem the type to work with soldiers. But then again, it’s been quite a long time since he ‘died’.
“May I help you?”
In your panic, you hadn’t heard the soldier leave and footsteps approach you. Looking up, you were met with blank, milky eyes and the sight of four needles attached to a gauntlet. You’d admire the craftsmanship if it weren’t for the fact that they were dangerously close to your face.
- Were you drugged? Probably. You don’t really remember.
- what started out as captivity turned into you helping around in Gotham before his announcement of, well, feargassing Gotham.
- When did feelings join the equation? A bit before halloween. Did you make them known? Not exactly. Jonathan didn’t seem like the person to bother with feelings that weren’t fear or terror. But you swore you could catch him quietly chuckle at some of your quips or comments.
RIDDLER
- You were probably one of the only people that actually bothered with his riddles – whether you got it wrong or right, you would try to answer them. ‘Maybe it’ll keep him off my skin’ you thought. It did not.
- If anything, it made him bother you even more. If you got them wrong, he’d obviously insult you, but if you got them right…? He would compliment you as if you were a stupid child. Very demeaning.
“Mr. Nygma, I’ve brought you your food.” You said nonchalantly, setting the tray on a table. Nygma quite often refused to eat in the cafeteria – said something about being surrounded by complete morons and how he could feel his braincells dying the more he had to spend time in there. So, As you seemed to be the only guard that didn't care about his insults on your intelligence, you volunteered to be the one to bring him his food. Arkham wasn’t exactly known for bending to the patient’s wills, but as much as Edward wouldn’t attack you, no one wanted to listen to his insults.
“I have billions of eyes, Yet I live in darkness. I have millions of ears, yet only four lobes. I have no muscle, yet I rule two hemispheres. What am I?” Edward’s voice echoed.
“Ah, the… the human brain? Right?” You guessed, facing to look at edward. He simply gave a quiet “hmph.” And resumed reading his book. Turning around, you left.
-time skip to when either he escapes or you helped him escape. Why did you help him? Not even you knew how or why, but you fell for him. Hard.
- Trying to see if he felt anything towards you was hard. Especially since he would avoid answering some of your questions and being… well, himself, with his riddles and big words.
- When you began actively helping him with placing his trophies around Arkham city, bringing him whatever tools he needed, he seemed to start… relaxing in your prescense? Atleast he wasn’t as irritated in your prescense as he was before. A good sign, hopefully.

💞 for Arkham Knight Scarecrow pretty please? :3
Of course! Will do :3
💞 - How do you win their heart?
Arkham Knight Scarecrow:
You win Jonathan's heart by being reliable, persistent, and loving with him and for him. To always be there for him, regardless of how harsh and cold he was towards you, especially after the Killer Croc incident and when he isolated himself as he planned his revenge against Batman.
Send in a Character and an Emoji and I’ll Answer!

JONNYYYYY MY BOY MY HOMIE MY HOUSEHUSBAND MY SILLY RABBIT /j
🎃 He never sleeps, so every smooch is a surprise to him lmao
🎃 He'll just be working in his lab, when suddenly, THERE YOU ARE!! With his morning smooches!!
🎃 Most times, he merely chuckles and greets you, but sometimes-and he curses himself every time-he accidentally snaps at you for it, but he tries to make up for it later.
🎃 Chances are high that your smooches will remind him to take a break.
🎃 You've Pavloved him. Every time you smooch him, he takes a break.
🎃 After the Lockup incident(yeah, that still happens, unfortunately), you give him a lot more smooches than usual, as they're a source of comfort to him.
🎃 Like, this man will BEG for them if he thinks he saw something out of the corner of his eye.
🎃 He loves your smooches any time of day <3
🎃 Especially when he's settling down for the night after he tries fixing his sleep schedule.
🎃 He does love you so much, he just wishes he could be less busy so you could spend more time together :(
Hope ya enjoy! <3

Miss. Smith
Cw: sex, role-playing, gaslighting, power play, mention of slavery
Minors dni🔞
Gif by @slut4thebroken
She’s collected many costumes throughout her career, and they have put them to good use as any couple with an active imagination and healthy sex life would do.
She has been a nurse, a dominatrix, a horse trainer and this week, a dime a dozen secretary.
Eva is an assassin when she is not running a shipping company, and while that has given her enough ability to act, she was very fond of method acting.
Especially when they fucked.
He only has his masks; he is either the Scarecrow or Doctor Crane.
Doctor Crane sometimes lets his lover do what she wants, the Scarecrow makes the assassin his submissive little whore.
Tonight, or today ---he has been busy working on some research he’s forgotten what time it is--- Johnathan wants to play as someone else.
The tight pencil skirt gave him an idea.
“You forgot my coffee, Miss Smith.” He sat back as she raised an eyebrow and kept drinking her coffee.
“The kitchen is right there, Dr. Crane.” The woman said defiantly, coming to sit at his desk, crossing her legs enticingly and giving him a glimpse at what she wasn’t wearing underneath.
“Such unprofessional behavior, Miss Smith, I should remind you who is the boss and who is the subordinate.” Crane smirked.
Wouldn’t that judge she’s keeping an eye on lose his shit if he’d discover the sexy secretary has a man who never lets her leave unfucked.
Just a few days ago he’d convinced her to wear the vibrating panties and turned them on all the way while he was in the court house dealing with work and the nosy attorney.
Eva had been so wet by the time she cornered him, she hadn’t even bothered to make sure they were alone when she grabbed him by the collar and shoved him into an empty filing closet.
He'd politely lied and implied any resemblance between his girlfriend with the temp was due to ingrained anti-latino sentiments Rachel Dawes may have.
Eva had been shaking with arousal, eyes so dilated they had looked black and when she came she had him wishing they were more than just fuck buddies.
But Ducard and the League of Shadows own her and he decides who gets to breed the lovely assassin immune to all of his fear poisons and father her replacement.
Johnathan wants to be that man, Ducard’s pet project can go fuck himself.
“Maybe you should.” She let her stocking clad foot come rest on his lap before dragging it across his inner high. Always ready to jump his bones as if she’d been given an aphrodisiac.
He has tried that, he tries a lot his drugs on her to test her immunity.
The aphrodisiac had him taking a week off work because she refused to let him go. Not that he minded, he was intoxicated with it too.
So intoxicated they’d even fucked Bruce Wayne when he made the mistake of scheduling drinks with her for business. Then after Wayne, Ducard’s lovely daughter and some others who crossed their paths.
A week he’d never forget.
But not for the reasons you’d think. Jonathan Crane knew exactly what he’d demand Ra’s al Ghul for in exchange for mass production of his most dangerous creation yet.
“On your knees, Miss Smith.” He ordered her after taking her coffee for effect. “Put your smart mouth of yours to good use and I might forget about this incident.”

What are your Shroomy headcannons?
Ok ok ok so hear me out on all of these!
____________________________________________________________________________________
Shroomy most definitely would like watching the old silly whimsical cartoons like Mickey Mouse or Looney Tunes.. I could see him turning the cartoons on for the kids, but also watching them cause he really loves them as well.
Human Shroomy would have freckles and be a red head! Also he'd probably wear multiple bandages to show that he has got hurt.. Especially after the bear incident..
Shroomy probably still sleeps with plushies. Not only am I saying this cause he had a plushie in his room in "Mario's Valentine's Advice" but also cause he seems like the type of guy to own several plushies as a grown adult and sleep with them.
I headcanon him as autistic. I could see him owning a little rainbow infinity symbol keychain. It'd probably fit better as a badge, but being autistic isn't really an accomplishment.. It's something you kinda struggle with, but it's also what makes you you! I feel he'd have the keychain because he wants people to know that he's autistic.
Remember how he has a cat..? They don't ever show up again but he definitely has a cat... I'm thinking he used to have a cat but he leaves the pictures up cause he really misses them. He's also not extremely phased over his cat's death because obviously he's a really positive guy. I'm also picturing his cat's name to be something campfire related. I think that'd be really cute. Like Smoky or something.... Maybe he named his cat after Smokavich?
Him and Rob are definitely the holiday duo. I mean listen... they're always next to eachother in holiday specials. They probably love talking about their favorite holiday traditions, what food they eat on Christmas/Thanksgiving/New Years, etc. Betting you they also had matching Halloween outfits one year that'd be really wholesome. I could kinda see them going with a "The Wizard Of Oz" outfit theme. Rob as the scarecrow obviously, and maybe Shroomy dressed up as the wicked witch. Cause I could see him wanting to try being scary but also keep his silliness.
Shroomy probably owns a mug that says "Nature is my home".
...AKA this mug:
Shroomy has a phone but barely uses it because he's not chronically online. He only uses it to call his friends and family. He probably has his aunt and uncle as contacts on his phone, but his uncle probably deleted Shroomy's contact meanwhile Shroomy is still trying to get his attention. He's thinking maybe "oh uncle Doom is probably only ignoring me a little bit! Nothing too big!" but no he deleted his contact without telling him... I'd also love to think that Shroomy gave his aunt and uncle silly little emojis next to their names.
Shroomy loves all food, but is smart enough to know when to stop eating certain foods. I got this headcanon idea from the fact he always seems so joyous when eating food and literally lived in the Luncheon Kingdom at one point iirc..... He's just like me fr fr!
Shroomy's absolute favorite show of all time is "Camp Camp", and his favorite character is David (obviously)! He's singing the lyrics to the theme song and is sometimes quoting David. He's also trying to get Karen into the show because he thinks she'd relate to Gwen.
Shroomy's phone homescreen would definitely be of a camp, meanwhile his lockscreen would probably be of him and Smokavich with a symbol representing the scouts in the background.
Shroomy, Karen, Bob, and Hal Monitor are always matching profile pictures because Shroomy thinks it's fun and silly. Shroomy made them do it..,, He didn't force them but he really wanted them to match with him!
Shroomy owns a swear jar (I think that'll be really funny)...
Shroomy most definitely watches Wander Over Yonder... Like I'm sorry but Wander is way too much like Shroomy.., it's so silly..! /pos

Well that's it!!! I'm really bad at coming up with headcanons but I hope you enjoyed nonetheless! :D jsjzjxjxjx.,,

Shortly after being sent to prison for his his first escapade as the Top, Roscoe Dillon was psychologically evaluated to determine what sort of mental health problems he might need to be treated for. Unfortunately for him, the psychologist who did the evaluating was Dr. Jonathan Crane, the man who would later become the Scarecrow. Although he hadn’t lost his medical licence yet, Crane’s professional reputation was in shambles due to an unfortunate incident where he had fired a gun in class during one of his lectures at Gotham University, and he was only able to find work in underfunded public penal institutions, many of which were desperate enough to hire anyone with a licence and a pulse.
Dr. Crane was not happy about any of this and took out his frustrations on his supposed patients, reveling in the amount of power he had over their lives. His own life and professional reputation might be tattered, but behind the closed doors of institutions such as Arkham Asylum and the state penitentiary near Central City (which would much later be refurbished as Iron Heights Penitentiary), he could alter the lives of the inmates sent to him for help in any way he wished----and that control was intoxicating. He especially enjoyed preying on the fears and phobias of his patients; it served as a twisted revenge for the years he had spent feeling small and afraid.
By the time he evaluated Roscoe, Dr.Crane had begun to experiment with a prototype version of his fear toxin, relying on the authorities to disbelieve any claims made by criminals---particularly criminals who suffered from, for example, bipolar 1 disorder---that mild-mannered Dr. Crane was drugging them with something that brought their nightmares to life. During their session, Dr. Crane was able to determine that Roscoe’s crime spree had occurred while the man was in the midst of a manic episode and also suggested that Roscoe’s behavior patterns during the session were reminiscent of someone on the autism spectrum; his notes were later used as a partial basis for Roscoe’s diagnoses. Roscoe, whose parents had drilled into him the notion that mental illnesses were a sign of weaknesses and deficiency, vehemently denied the notion that he was mentally ill in any way.
Dr. Crane, who by this point didn’t need much of an excuse to abuse the inmates of the penitentiary, was annoyed by Roscoe’s rather sharply-worded attack on his professional competency and promptly injected him with his prototype fear toxin. Roscoe’s screams brought the guards, but Dr. Crane, ever the picture of calm, was easily able to convince them that Roscoe’s behavior was the result of his own mental instability.
Crane’s reign of terror continued for another year before his actions were finally brought to light by Batman. He lost his medical licence, and, enraged at what he viewed as professional jealously on the part of his peers, became the Scarecrow for the first time.
Needless to say, this whole affair served as a major contributing factor in Roscoe’s general hatred of therapy and psychologists.

Family: Grayson Logano (father, estranged), Emily Logano neé Price (mother, deceased), Addy Wright-Logano (stepmother, estranged), Drake Logano (younger brother), Mina Logano-Wright (younger half-sister)
Backstory:
Damon was born in Ireland to Grayson and Emily Logano, a promising couple of young engineers who’d just gotten married a year prior. Four years later, Drake was born, and three years after that, the family moved to Gotham, New York, as Grayson had managed to land a high paying job at Wayne Enterprises. It was a tough adjustment, but they got through it as a family. Emily, however, fell ill not long afterward, and passed away when Damon was only thirteen.
To the shock and dismay of his sons, Grayson barely waited a month after the funeral to remarry, causing a rift between him and Damon. Said rift only grew bigger when Damon found out that his new stepmother had been his father’s longtime mistress, and that he was only marrying her now because she was pregnant with his daughter. Tensions ran high, especially with Damon about to start high school. Neither of the boys were on good terms with their father, nor were they particularly fond of their stepmother, but Damon at least tried to be a good big brother when Mina was born. She was completely innocent, after all, not to mention the apple of Grayson’s eye.
Despite their father’s blatant favoritism toward Mina and their stepmother’s love of extravagance, the three siblings remained close as they grew older, always looking out for each other. Damon hated the thought of leaving them behind after graduation, so he stayed in Gotham for college. It was while he was studying for his bachelor’s degree that he finally properly met the young playboy Bruce Wayne, whom he quickly befriended after seeing right through the man’s façade. The two became thick as thieves, with Damon fearlessly fending off paparazzi and sleazy reporters on his behalf. It was this behavior and his expertise with social media that landed him the job as Bruce’s publicist after he graduated college.
Damon’s work ethic was impeccable and he grew bolder as the years went on. Unfortunately, his relationship with his father and stepmother declined even further, as both of them were jealous of his success and kept trying to tear him down. He cut contact with them after his father reached out to Bruce and tried to get him fired, but by then, the damage to his psyche was monumental. His depression and anxiety were worse than they had ever been, resulting in destructive outbursts due to his already prominent anger issues. Not wanting to end up hurting anyone, he began seeking out psychiatric help, had trouble finding a therapist who was accepting of him. He refused to let that hold him back, though, and kept trying.
Bruce knew almost none of this. Damon didn’t want his friend and employer to worry about his mental state, fearing that Bruce might fire him if he found out how unstable the publicist was. He kept it hidden for years.
Things came to a head when the Scarecrow went on another rampage through Gotham. Damon had the misfortune of being in his warpath, and was taken hostage after being dosed with fear toxin, dragged off to the old ACE Chemicals facility. However, he became far more violent than Scarecrow anticipated, rage bursting forth in tandem with his terror. He fought tooth and nail to free himself from both the villain’s clutches and the horrific hallucinations, spewing curses, insults, and threats the entire time. Batman followed them, of course, and engaged Scarecrow in battle, not realizing that some of the vats in the facility had not been drained. At some point during the fight, Damon fell into one, and was forever changed. The fear toxin in his bloodstream mixed with the mutagenic chemical in the vat and his own adrenaline to give him superpowers, nearly killing him in the process. He awoke in the hospital a week later with his clearly exhausted siblings watching over him.
It took him a while to recover physically, and even longer to recover mentally and emotionally, but when he did, he was livid. With Scarecrow, with Batman, with ACE Chemicals, and with himself for getting caught in the first place. Punching a mirror in frustration led him to discover his new shadowmancy powers, and he began to experiment with them and test his limits. Eventually, he gained enough courage and confidence to go back to work, which Bruce was thrilled about. The man had been checking in on him almost as often as Drake and Mina after the accident, and was glad to see his friend back on his feet. After dark, Damon took to the streets as the ruthless and ethereal Shadowhaunt, making Gotham’s villains regret their life choices in increasingly morbid and creative ways. He declared Scarecrow as his archenemy, of course, but also had a particularly violent hatred for the Joker.

I was thinking of the Wizard of Oz after seeing NOPE (2022) because of the tornados and Keke Palmer’s character being named Emerald like the Emerald City. And I guess you could say Emerald was the cowardly Lion, Angel was the brainless scarecrow, the filmmaker was the heartless Tin Man, and OJ was Dorothy who just wanted to go home
And I think this works especially with the Wizard of Oz as being one of those film that everyone loves to know the gruesome fun facts about like how people treat Gordy as a piece of trivia instead of a tragic incident.
