There is so much more to the Rubik's Cube than it being just a rotating plastic toy.
Ernő Rubik invented the Rubik's Cube while finding a way to model three-dimensional movement to his students but little did he know that he had just created a whole new sport in which thousands of cubers would compete in and it would only grow more popular with time.
Countless people in the world have come across the Rubiks cube, but only some are curious enough to try to solve one and even fewer succeed. Only 5.8% of the world's population can solve the Rubik's Cube. Statistics show that 1 in 20 people who own a Rubik's Cube can solve it.
The reason i created this blog is to show people the side of the Rubik's Cube that lies beyond the 3-dimensional puzzle and a peek into the Cubing community and also to connect with fellow cubers on this site.
And one other thing...if there is a Rubik's Cube laying around, don't think, Just Solve It! You wouldn't regret it :D

The Incredible Story of Rubik's Cube - The most sold Children's Toy ever
I’m sure almost every human on Earth has had the chance to hold in hand the mysterious colorful cube, Rubik’s Cube. I remember seeing it for the first time when I was in primary school and I remember my brother commenting that only smart people were able to fix the colors in sides of the cube. But how much do we actually know about it, and how it managed to become the most sold toy…

Hungarian inventor Erno Rubik created the prototype for his "Magic Cube" in 1974 and patented it in 1975. In 1980 it was renamed the Rubik's Cube as it made its international debut. It took Rubik himself a month to solve his own creation and thought of it as a mathematical maze. The cube has 43 quintillion (43,252,003,274,489,856,000) possible combinations but only one correct configuration… and that's the solution for today's Toy Tuesday post!!

He is best known for the invention of mechanical puzzles including the Rubik's Cube (1974), Rubik's Magic, Rubik's Magic: Master Edition, and Rubik's Snake. While Rubik became famous for inventing the Rubik's Cube and his other puzzles, much of his recent work involves the promotion of science in education. Rubik is involved with several organizations such as Beyond Rubik's Cube, the Rubik Learning Initiative and the Judit Polgar Foundation all of whose aim is to engage students in science, mathematics, and problem solving at a young age.

Erno Rubik - Rubik
Tumblr media
https://blackiebooks.org/catalogo/rubik/

Bones: I can't solve this damned Rubik's cube, a puzzle for children from 300 years ago and I can't solve it save my skin!
Spock: doctor I believe you've made a catagory error, in that you view the Erno Rubik cube as a "puzzle" to "solve" it's much more efficient if you view it as a rote procedure. The simplest form of the procedure is only seven steps. If you learn that, doctor, you would be able to solve any future cubes within 100 seconds.
Bones: I'll worry about future cubes when I see one, this thing is the only one of it's kind in this quadrant of the galaxy. I've gotten two sides but can't make any more headway.
Kirk: let me try. *Takes off all stickers and puts them back solved*

The great Mr. Erno Rubik made a wonderful masterpiece in 1974 AND it took him 1 whole month to solve it himself soooo its most likely that u can learn to solve it faster than the man who invented it himself :)
