Stafford Trap
Another Chess trap! This one is pretty famous due to International Master Eric Rosen. It comes out of his favorite gambit, the Stafford.
Stafford is just good for White (there's a very educational Daniel Naroditsky video explaining why). However, Bg5 is an easy to make blunder and it gives Black an amazing resource.
Free queen?
No. Somehow Black makes checkmate with a knight and both bishops. Respect the minor pieces.

baylie is a lot like david when it comes to cartman’s teasing. like when david fed into it by giving cartman what he wanted (like the whole ‘me ride me tiny bicicleta to school’ thing). he does that a lot to baylie about her albinism and the fact that she’s from australia. she gives him exactly what he wants and if drives kyle up the wall.
it’s really not until she feeds into cartman’s mocking of her religion that kyle really goes off on her because now not only is she giving into cartman’s harassment but she’s also giving him a bad rep in the process.
after that she’s not as forgiving of the teasing and such

supernatural s5e9 the real ghostbusters (teleplay eric kripke, story nancy weiner)
made it through another, longer becky episode with all teeth intact, but it was a near thing when she licked her hand to blow a... kiss, i guess?
okay but in the pre-episode recap,
s1e10 asylum
a) baby! b) he has way more of an accent than i remember. what originally stuck out to me about how he speaks at the beginning of the series is how he says Rs which i associate with west coast/san francisco mainly because of someone else who does it the same way from there, i really don't know the origin or what it's even considered but it's a very particular and very enunciated way of saying Rs. 😩 anyway! in that scene it sounds like the texas is slipping out
one thing that i did appreciate was poking fun at sam and dean's deep raspy voices. which i obviously have had some thoughts about too :p
wiki
This episode was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award in the "Outstanding Individual Episode (in a series without a regular LGBT character)" category in 2010. However it lost to an episode of Parks and Recreation.
like, how low does the bar have to be. at least they didn't die! but it was like, 30 seconds that we know the guys are partners.
makeup department, what happened.
look at the difference between his hands/arms and his face. makeup tragedy. embrace the paler skin, please. reminds me of this very misguided advice i read once about dealing with freckles (of which i am covered, not just a dainty smattering like jackles) that said to match foundation to the freckles. if you do, you get something like the above 😂
also, what are you grinning about, you ghost? the power of supernatural and queer love?
finally get to meet crowley next. been avoiding fic involving him so it'll be fresh for me.

So, while I've talked about this in other posts, I figured I may as well compile it in one post with this nifty propaganda poster (more on that later)
Long story short, they're bringing back KOSA/the Kids Online Safety Act in the US Senate, and they're going to mark it up next Thursday as of the time of this post (4/23/2023).
If you don’t know, long story short KOSA is a bill that’s ostensibly one of those “Protect the Children” bills, but what it’s actually going to do is more or less require you to scan your fucking face every time you want to go on a website; or give away similarly privacy-violating information like your drivers’ license or credit card info.
Either that or force them to censor anything that could even remotely be considered not “kid friendly.” Not to mention fundies are openly saying they’re gonna use this to hurt trans kids. Which is, uh, real fucking bad.
As per usual, I urge you to contact your congresscritters, and especially those on the Commerce Committee, who'll likely be the ones marking it up.
Those senators are:
Maria Cantwell, Washington, Chair
Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota
Brian Schatz, Hawaii
Ed Markey, Massachusetts
Gary Peters, Michigan
Tammy Baldwin, Wisconsin
Tammy Duckworth, Illinois
Jon Tester, Montana
Kyrsten Sinema, Arizona
Jacky Rosen, Nevada
Ben Ray Luján, New Mexico
John Hickenlooper, Colorado
Raphael Warnock, Georgia
Peter Welch, Vermont
Ted Cruz, Texas, Ranking Member
John Thune, South Dakota
Roger Wicker, Mississippi
Deb Fischer, Nebraska
Jerry Moran, Kansas
Dan Sullivan, Alaska
Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee
Todd Young, Indiana
Ted Budd, North Carolina
Eric Schmitt, Missouri
J.D. Vance, Ohio
Shelley Moore Capito, West Virginia
Cynthia Lummis, Wyoming
Again, it doesn't work unless you do it en-masse, so make sure to call ASAP and tell them to kill this bill, and if they actually want a bill to allow/get sites to protect kids, the Federal Fair Access To Banking Act would be far better.
Also, this poster is officially, for the sake of spreading it, under a CC0 license. Feel free to spread it, remix it, add links to the bottom, edit it to be about the other bad internet bills they're pushing, use it as a meme format, do what you will but for gods' sake get the word out!
Also, shoutout to @o-hybridity for coming up with the slogan for the poster, couldn't have done it without 'em!

"KEI Announces 2025 Series Reboot for Netflix
by Becky Rosen, Variety
A reboot of the long running CW series Supernatural is moving forward at Netflix, slated for 2025.
Creator and showrunner Eric Kripke of Kripke Enterprises Scrap Metal & Entertainment. Inc. announced the series Supernatural: Resurrection will be a "reimagining of the fan-favorite show which is currently the longest-running US sci-fi network television show in history.
"The original 15 seasons were basically shot as a proof of concept more than as a real series. By the end we realized this show's strength is in its world-building and the actors, essentially replaceable. This reboot of Supernatural will be a bold take on the series, featuring an all-female cust. Samantha, Deanna, and Cass will be supported by their friends Alexa and Bobbi. It'll basically be like the Ghostbusters female reboot, bat in the Supernatural universe-very on-trend for today's audiences.
I've had multiple conversations with Jensen Ackles about this new direction. We didn't see eye to eye at first, but I'm the creator and that makes me essentially god in this scenario so I decided he was going to be completely on board' with this adaptation. I've even offered to pay him scale for a cameo, with a stipulation in his contract requiring more nudity than in The Boys, so that'll be a nugget for the eagle-eyed fans.
I've also decided to innovate a whole new approach to scripting by utilizing A.I. for all characters aside from our leads. This cost-cutting measure has been lauded by every stadio head I've spoken to as 'the future of television, and will more than make up for the fact that I got screwed out of residuals from the first show."
Variety reached out to stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki for comment. Padalecki couldn't be reached as he was "out riding the range, and Ackles said simply, "Eric Kripke has my unwavering support in all matters."
Misha Collins was eager to offer a full interview, but our editors declined because of his recent public promotion of hate groups and conspiracy theories.
When asked about Misha Collins' potential involvement in the new show Kripke, replied, "Misha who?"
Supernatural: Resurrection is slated to move into production April 1, 2025 with Bob Singer and Eric Kripke to executive produce."

It’s impossible to know for sure, because no one measured our level of intellectual creativity before smartphones took off, but Price thinks smartphone over-use could be harming our ability to be insightful. “An insight is being able to connect two disparate things in your mind. But in order to have an insight and be creative, you have to have a lot of raw material in your brain, like you couldn’t cook a recipe if you didn’t have any ingredients: you can’t have an insight if you don’t have the material in your brain, which really is long term memories.” (Her theory was backed by the 92-year-old Nobel prize-winning neuroscientist and biochemist Eric Kandel, who has studied how distraction affects memory – Price bumped into him on a train and grilled him about her idea. “I’ve got a selfie of me with a giant grin and Eric looking a bit confused.”) Psychologist professor Larry Rosen, co-author (with neuroscientist Adam Gazzaley) of The Distracted Mind: Ancient Brains in a High-Tech World, also agrees: “Constant distractions make it difficult to encode information in memory.”
