“The Armor of God” Sermon by In Touch Ministries:
“Learn the importance of being prepared to stand against the enemy.”
“Every command God gives us in His Word is given for our protection and our good. Dr. Stanley explains the importance of being prepared to stand against the enemy by putting on the full armor of God.
Sermon Outline: Believers need not feel daunted by the enemy, because God has provided everything we need to triumph over him. In this week’s sermon, Dr. Stanley explores how the Lord equips us for victory in every spiritual battle.
Ephesians 6:10-18 (ERV). [10] “To end my letter I tell you, be strong in the Lord and in his great power. [11] Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s clever tricks. [12] Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places. [13] That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil, you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing. [14] So stand strong with the belt of truth tied around your waist, and on your chest wear the protection of right living. [15] On your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong. [16] And also use the shield of faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows that come from the Evil One. [17] Accept God’s salvation as your helmet. And take the sword of the Spirit—that sword is the teaching of God. [18] Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God’s people.”
God is always looking out for our best interests. He gave clear instructions in His Word about how to handle conflict with satanic forces.
“We have to deal with spiritual warfare every single day when our feet hit the pavement.”
There are many components to the armor of God, including the:
1. Belt of truth (Ephesians 6:14).
• Truth is essential for victory in the life of the believer. Without it, we can become fearful and doubt God’s promises.
• It’s essential that we know what the Bible says about our spiritual position, our relationship to God, and our power in Christ.
2. Breastplate of righteousness (v. 14).
• This refers not to our righteousness from Christ but to practical righteousness—living out the truth daily through right action, right thinking, and right relationships.
• A breastplate covers the heart, the symbolic seat of our emotions. We’re not to live on the basis of feelings.
3. Shoes of the gospel of peace (v. 15).
• As God’s children, we are always to stand on the firm foundation—that is, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
• When we know what we believe, we’re stable and ready to move against the enemy.
4. Shield of faith (v. 16).
• Our faith should be “large”—meaning it covers every aspect of our person and life.
• We strengthen it by reading God’s Word, watching what the Lord does, and keeping a diary to record His faithfulness.
5. Helmet of salvation (v. 17).
• A helmet covers the brain and therefore the mind. This protects us from doubting our salvation.
• Before leaving the house, we should pray that God would protect our thoughts and help us bring every one captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
6. Sword of the Spirit, which is God’s Word (v. 17).
• God’s Word is living and active (Hebrews 4:12).
• We must know how Scripture works and trust that it’s necessary every day and adequate for every circumstance.
“I challenge you: By faith, before you get out of bed, put God’s armor on piece by piece, and see what He does in your life.”
Prayer is essential to securing the victory (Ephesians 6:18). So each morning, verbally dress in the armor of God, using these words:
“I'm putting on the belt of truth; I’ll walk in the truth I know today.
I’m putting on the breastplate of righteousness to protect my emotions. I’m putting on the sandals of peace, to stand firm in the gospel by which I’ve been saved and which I’m willing to defend. I’m taking the shield of faith today to ward off all Satan’s fiery darts of temptation.
I’m putting on the helmet of salvation right now. God, protect my thinking all day long.
I’m wielding the sword of the Spirit—Your Word—as a weapon both defensive and offensive. May I help to bring somebody out of enslavement and to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ today. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

‭‭Ephesians 6:10-18 (WEB). “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.”

"YES, GOD CAN STILL USE YOU!"
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, READY TO BE USED] for good words, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” (AMP) When David first arrived at…

The Four Dimensions of God's Love: How God Loves You Completely
Paul spent more than two years in Ephesus, so it stands to reason that he knew people there pretty well. He preached and taught in that crossroads city so effectively that Luke says “all of the Jews and Greeks who lived in the Province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.” (Acts 19:10) When he wrote to them in Ephesians, Paul mentions the four dimensions of God’s love as if everyone knew about…

Unlimited Atonement
Unlimited atonement is the biblical teaching that Jesus died for everyone. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God by taking upon Himself the sins of all humanity and bearing the punishment that was due for our sins.
Unlimited atonement is the biblical teaching that Jesus died for everyone. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God by taking upon Himself the sins of all humanity and bearing the punishment that was due for our sins. His death on the cross paid the price for the sins of everyone. Jesus’ death for sins is the foundation for reconciliation with God because God judged…

Dread In Your Head?
We all deal with those pesky dread thoughts our head. Some are big, some are small, but all of them drift us into doubt, which is not good. So listen up to how you can kick dread out of your head. God bless ya.
Fill your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being. So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:21-23 Got Dread…

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Imperial Roman Legionary, illustrating the Whole Armor of God. Soldiers equipped like him would have become all too familiar to the people of  Judea when they revolted against Roman Rule in AD 66 -70: 1 The Belt of Truth: Roman Soldiers wore two belts one for sword and another for a dagger with an apron of metal discs rivited to leather straps. 2 Breastplate of Righteousness: Roman lorica segmentata made of steel strips for flexability. 3 Shoes to make ready to proclaim the gospel: Romans wore caligae; sandles cut from a single piece of leather which wrapped arround the foot and were sewn up at the heel and attached to a heavy sole made of several layers of leather and shod with iron studs. 4 Helmet of Salvation: by end of 1st century Roman helmets were usually made of iron and bronze. 5 The Shield of Faith: A large rectangular shield was introduced early in the 1st century replacing the earlier ovil shaped scutum, It was constructed of three layers of about 2 millimeter thick wood glued across each other to form a curved piece of plywood. The back was strengthened with glued on strips of  wood. The handle was formed by thickening the central horizontal strip behind a central iron or bronze boss (not shown in the illustration.) 6 The Sword of the Spirit: Roman soldiers carried the gladius hispaniensis modeled after a Spanish Weapon with a short pointed blade ideal for stabbing in close combat.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

What is Spiritual Warfare and how to overcome it with the help of God?
• Spiritual warfare is the idea that there's a battle going on between good and evil forces. In Christianity, this means a fight between God and His angels against the devil and his demons. It mainly happens in our minds, hearts, and spirits. It’s about resisting bad thoughts, temptations, and influences that go against what God wants for us. Though we believe that Jesus has indeed already defeated Satan by dying on the cross and coming back to life, the enemy still tries to lead us to sin in order to push us away from God, thus spiritual warfare.
• “Symptoms” vary since the devil attacks you where it hurts the most, to make you as vulnerable as possible; but here are some of the most common ones:
- believing that your not worthy of having a relationship with God or talking to God therefore feeling the need to distance yourself from him
-self destructive / sabotage / harm temptations
-paranoia / overthinking
-strong headaches / body aches
-temptations towards sin such as lust, gluttony, laziness, anger.. etc, depends on your weaknesses
-self hatred & self doubt / doubt in faithfulness
-hopelessness, fear, anxiety
-random depressive moods & replaying bad memories … the list goes on!
• Living a life more aligned with God’s will is seen as a threat to Satan and his purposes, leading to increased attempts to discourage or derail one’s faith journey. With a deeper relationship with God often comes a greater sense of purpose and mission, attracting more challenges and obstacles from evil forces trying to prevent one from fulfilling God’s plans. Our Father allows these intensified battles to refine and strengthen our faith, helping us rely more on Him and grow spiritually.
• Here are some bible verses that may help you during those tough times battling spiritual warfare :
-Corinthians 10:13
- Psalm 91
-Ephesians 6:11-18
-Isaiah 54:17
-Galatians 5:17-26
- Peter 5:8-9
-Romans 8:37-39
-Luke 10:19
-James 4:7
-John 16:33
-Deuteronomy 3:22
-Matthew 4:10-11
• Let me know if you’d be interested in me posting those verses and talking about some of them with you guys, sort of like a bible study kind of thing. It’d be a pleasure ;)
Have a blessed day 💞💓👼🏻

[The Whole Armor of God]
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Gossip
Way too often I catch myself Gossiping or talking bad about people behind their backs. I don’t know why I do it, and every time I do, I regret it. But I can’t seem to permanently stop. Sometimes, if I notice what I‘m doing wrong right now, I‘ll stop, but I gotta admit for me not talking about people behind their backs can be hard for me sometimes.
What does the Bible say about Gossip?
• The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body. - Proverbs 26:22
• Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. - Psalm 34:13
• Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool. - Proverbs 10:18
• Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. - James 4:11
• Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. - Ephesians 4:29
• Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless - James 1:26
I researched a bit and found out that some of the reasons that people may gossip are to bond, they fear being vulnerable, to feel superior or it is learned behavior.
How to stop gossiping
1. Recognize the harm of gossip
2. Pray about it
3. Reflect before speaking
4. Avoid negative influences
5. Forgive and let go
6. Find healthy outlets
7. Practice Gratitude
A wicked doer gives heed to false lips; a liar listens eagerly to a spiteful tongue.
Proverbs 17:4

"PRACTICE SPIRITUAL WARFARE FOR YOUR MARRIAGE"
If I were to choose the most important thing as the key that has kept my marriage united and healthy, I would have to say it is loving my husband and family more than myself and practicing spiritual warfare EVERY DAY! Since we are spiritual beings, we cannot direct our combat against a human person. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, “For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and…
