So we all know that Teia and Viago are on and off frequently. My headcanon is that some of the Crows have an ongoing bet how many days it takes for them to get together or break up again. They have an assigned bookie who keeps track of the bets in a notebook: how many days and how much money each Crow has put into the bet. It's a popular gamble among houses De Riva and Cantori. Pray that the Talons never find the notebook.

Enzo, little brother (and hello Neve),

Hope things are slowly getting better again in Minrathous. With this letter Lucanis and I send another check we want you to bring to good use in Docktown once again. And I personally insert another one that is tied to the kind souls that are already rebuilding the Docktown cat-café and taking care for the local strays.

As soon as our schedules allow, we’ll drop by for a bit to lend a hand or four in the rebuilding process. Working as negotiator for House de Riva and exclusively for the First Talon is honestly still overwhelming sometimes. Especially when the former negotiator has been… you know who. But we’re getting there. One step at a time, as it was our motto so long with the Veilguard. It sounds silly, but, well… it’s true. It’s the only way to get things done.

Viago and Teia are on “friendly terms” now for longer than I’ve ever witnessed them being before. Of course, she plays him like a fiddle but honestly, she is good for him and as long as we are all on the same side I would never think of trying to influence the way things are between them. They seem happy and therefor I’m happy too. As you know, Viago is always way more agreeable when things are good between the two of them.

And yet, Viago is as paranoid as ever but of course with good reason, now that The Houses Dellamorte, Cantori and de Riva are entangled somewhat way closer than in mere alliances. Time will tell, where that will lead us, but I really hope it will be for the better of all the Crows. And who knows what Viago’s plans for the future are, now that the Crows rule Antiva and Treviso is free. I’m sure there is still something, he has on his list of achievements. Well, he’ll let us know whenever he needs help I guess and then we will know.

Jacobus and his little murder of Egrativis are doing fine, too. He pledged allegiance to House de Riva and Cantori, and we grant him the protection and also the guidance a small house needs in order to grow. Surprisingly, Illario takes some interest in the young house, too. We keep a close eye on him, of course. So far, he seems to joy to help them train and of course, he always has plenty of dating tips for those who are already into that. For now, he behaves and though, he’s still full of bitter sarcasm, something to do and being acknowledged as actually good at what he dows, obviously goes a long way for Illario.

Funny how so many things have changed along our journey and how things keep on changing even now that our big contract - really, the contract of a lifetime if you look at it - is fulfilled. And obviously these changes seem to include people, too.

Well I hope not too much, though. I would miss our nights out in Treviso, with so much good wine and music that you simply don’t want to go home until dawn and then, because it’s already dawn crashing at Café Pietra for breakfast. And finally leaving the fresh newspapers we brought, on Viago’s desk while sneaking in with maybe 10 minutes time left before training starts. Being a fledgling was wild sometimes. But I think that’s how we survived the… less appealing aspects of it all. Sometimes all that helpeds was is booze and sarcasm.

But, Enzo, how are you? I would love to get your letter soon and reading how you are doing. What your days are like. How’s the new appartment, you and Neve got? Tell me everything. Is there anything specific you need there? Or just something you feel you miss from home? Just send word and I will make sure you get it.

Firion's most prominent feature is obviously his vallaslin that he got like every other Dalish when he came of age. Other than that he takes good care of his body and makes sure that any wounds and cuts that he gets won't turn into ugly scars by applying ointment and special herbs, so he doesn't have many noticeable ones.

Gwendolyn has lots of scar tissue on her hands and arms from using magic. She prefers lightning magic, which sometimes causes visible damage to her skin but also invisible damage to her nerves. That's why she lost some sensitivity in parts of her body and sometimes feels numb or tingly.

Enzo has lots of small scars all over his body from working as a Crow and fighting in general. He's used to getting cuts in all places, so he carries a vial with antiseptic solution at all times. But his biggest and nastiest scar is a souvenir from a contract that went not as planned. I talked about it here!

I want to talk a little bit about my Rook's, Enzo De Riva's backstory 🥹

Any Antiva and Viago lore enthusiasts, please forgive me, I just make things up for my own little headcanons lol

Enzo and Viago are half-brothers, Enzo being 7 years younger than Viago. They share the same mother, one of the many former mistresses of King Fulgeno. After Viago was born, the King lost interest in her as a mistress and soon stopped visiting her in favour of his younger and childless mistresses. However, she was allowed to stay at the palace to raise her son until he would be old enough to be exiled or join the Crows, as it was custom for royal bastards. When she became pregnant a second time there was no doubt that the child wasn't the King's. Furious about her betrayal he sent her and Viago to live in one of the crown's brothels in Antiva City, under close surveillance but far away from the amenities of the palace. When Enzo was born eventually, young Viago quickly took to his little brother and helped raise him. Life at the whorehouse wasn't pleasant, the children were often overlooked and naturally they saw things small children are not supposed to see, but Viago always looked after little Enzo and soon they were inseparable. On his 12th birthday the Crows came and took Viago, they hardly were given any time to say goodbye. From this day on life was harder for Enzo and his mother without the protection and status of the King's bastard. Not long after that his mother just disappeared, probably with one of her suitors, leaving him with nothing but a few coins and eventually Enzo was thrown on the streets. Desperate and without any shelter the only hope he saw was to look for his big brother who he missed a lot. Getting in contact with the Crows was an easy task as they regularly scoured the streets for new fledglings anyway, but after he joined them it took him 5 years to actually get in contact with Viago since he had been moved to Treviso by then. Through a training mission that involved a trip to Treviso they were finally able to reunite and Viago requested to have Enzo transferred to his house to join his training under his guild master. Since Viago was already considered a talented and promising fledgling, his wish was granted and the rest is history!

Firion's laugh is usually quiet and controlled but when something really funny happens or Davrin tells a dirty joke he snorts and laughs one of those really quiet wheezy laughs until he's shaking and crying real tears.

Gwendolyn's laugh sounds like a nug. She will electrocute you if you even hint at it.

Enzo laughs with his full body: head thrown back, mouth wide open and so loud that you can still hear it at the other end of the Lighthouse. You don't wanna be next to him, he sometimes slaps your back and knocks the air out of you if the joke is really funny.

EVENT TIMELINE

IC Timeline: Canonically, the snowstorm will suddenly pass through New York on Tuesday, February 1st.

OOC Timeline: Members will have from February 1st through February 8th to post their initial starters around the snowstorm. After 2/8, no new starters can be posted, but writers are free to continue their event thread until it's conclusion. An announcement will be made on both days when the event has started and ended.

EVENT DETAILS

Now that the pairings are announced, members are encouraged to reach out to the mun of their paired partner to plan out what will occur between the characters. Members are free to take liberties with the snowstorm backdrop to create whatever situational atmosphere they'd like - they can be as comedic, lowkey, absurd, mundane, adrenaline-seeking, or subtle as you'd like! If you're interested in more concrete details prior to the weather report on Tuesday, the 2014 Gulf Coast Winter Storm serves as a reference point!

Pairing Threads:

The primary reason behind the event is to encourage character interaction between characters who may not have engaged with each other before. As such, character threads are highly encouraged between the assigned pairing. Members can choose if they'd prefer to have their threads set during the action of the snowstorm (ex. thread of two character chatting while stuck in an ATM vestibule together until the power comes back on) or after the snowstorm (ex. first thread are characters running into each other two days after being stuck together in the ATM vestibule during the snowstorm).

Threads have no set length, neither in writing nor in IC time. The encounter between characters can be as brief as twenty minutes or as long as an overnighter, while threads can be full on multi-paras or simple gif conversations.

Additional Threads:

Members are also free to take advantage of the setting to engage in other snowstorm related threads during this time period, and are not limited to only engaging with their assigned partner. Other plotted threads and open starters are welcome! (ex. after being freed from the ATM vestibule, your character briefly seeks warmth at a nearby grocery store with other patrons, where an open starter may be set - or they return home to their roommate for a closed starter!)

Additionally, members are free to continue non-event threads!
