EVENT TIMELINE
IC Timeline: Canonically, the snowstorm will suddenly pass through New York on Tuesday, February 1st.
OOC Timeline: Members will have from February 1st through February 8th to post their initial starters around the snowstorm. After 2/8, no new starters can be posted, but writers are free to continue their event thread until it's conclusion. An announcement will be made on both days when the event has started and ended.
EVENT DETAILS
Now that the pairings are announced, members are encouraged to reach out to the mun of their paired partner to plan out what will occur between the characters. Members are free to take liberties with the snowstorm backdrop to create whatever situational atmosphere they'd like - they can be as comedic, lowkey, absurd, mundane, adrenaline-seeking, or subtle as you'd like! If you're interested in more concrete details prior to the weather report on Tuesday, the 2014 Gulf Coast Winter Storm serves as a reference point!
Pairing Threads:
The primary reason behind the event is to encourage character interaction between characters who may not have engaged with each other before. As such, character threads are highly encouraged between the assigned pairing. Members can choose if they'd prefer to have their threads set during the action of the snowstorm (ex. thread of two character chatting while stuck in an ATM vestibule together until the power comes back on) or after the snowstorm (ex. first thread are characters running into each other two days after being stuck together in the ATM vestibule during the snowstorm).
Threads have no set length, neither in writing nor in IC time. The encounter between characters can be as brief as twenty minutes or as long as an overnighter, while threads can be full on multi-paras or simple gif conversations.
Additional Threads:
Members are also free to take advantage of the setting to engage in other snowstorm related threads during this time period, and are not limited to only engaging with their assigned partner. Other plotted threads and open starters are welcome! (ex. after being freed from the ATM vestibule, your character briefly seeks warmth at a nearby grocery store with other patrons, where an open starter may be set - or they return home to their roommate for a closed starter!)
Additionally, members are free to continue non-event threads!
Please be sure to tag all event threads as bhqevent001 for differentiation purposes.
Happy plotting everyone! An official post will be made once the event has begun on 2/1. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send them to the main!

Gli altri sport: Mike Parkes
Tumblr media
Read the full article

Ok so this is actually kinda canon so I don't know why so many people think they have to "imagine" this happening. It did. You guys just need to read his wiki page... (which cites in game codex entries, World of Thedas volumes, and other external media sources that Bioware considers canon) Dragon Age II:
Since the end of the Blight, Zevran has been trying to dismantle the Crows from the inside. Four months after the end of the Blight, master Eoman Arainai had been killed with evidence showing a Crow responsible though no contract had been taken out on him. Four other members of House Arainai died in similar circumstances over the next three years. Grandmasters Runn and Availa died soon after at the hands of an unknown assassin. By 9:35 Dragon, Zevran was said to have two out of the seven Guildmasters in his pocket, and to be responsible for the death of the Guildmaster of Rialto. [3][2] As a result of his activities, Zevran is being hunted by the Crows. He may be encountered in a cave near the Dalish camp after Hawke accepts the quest A Murder of Crows, given by an Antivan named Nuncio at the beginning of Act 3.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
If Zevran was not romanced: If the Inquisitor uses the services of the Antivan Crows to deal with Lord Enzo, Leliana receives a message from Zevran, apologizing for killing a Crow assassin in the Inquisition's employ and offering to finish the job himself—for only a moderate price in consideration of his friendship with the spymaster. After helping the Inquisition kill Lord Enzo in Hercinia, Zevran asks for their help in evading the Antivan Crows, who have sent men after him in retaliation for stealing one of their targets and claiming the money from the assassination contract.
Granted this one is only if he wasn't romanced otherwise he's with the HoF.
Dragon Age: Veilguard
Harding: Lucanis, you've never really been to Ferelden? But I thought you traveled all over! Lucanis: The Crows don't take many contracts there. Not since the Fifth Blight. Harding: I heard Teyrn Loghain hired Crows in his fight over the throne. Lucanis: And that's why we don't work there anymore. Harding: So the Crows don't work in Ferelden anymore because of Loghain? Why, exactly? Lucanis: House Arainai embarrassed themselves so badly on that job, the Crows buried six different Eighth Talons. Harding: You're... you're saying they actually die of embarrassment. Lucanis: Some of them weren't dead at the time. But they got it eventually.
Now this is my interpretation but if house Arainai viewed Zevran as the embarrassing one (which they do) then implying "they died of embarrassment" could easily be dying from Zevran. Also the number Lucanis mentions lines up with the evidence from DA:2.
Now feel free to embellish his actions all you want in your own head canon but the idea of "Zevran pestering the crows / demolishing the system/ etc" isn't head canon. It's actually canon.
House Arainai
THEN if we look at the house in Eight Little Talons:
House Arainai has fought a long, bloody battle to regain their position after Zevran's failure to kill the Hero of Ferelden. Giuli Arainai has managed to claw her way back to Eighth Talon, though her title is still precarious. Nonetheless, she remains part of the Crow leadership, and as such is invited to Caterina Dellamorte's meeting on the Verdant Isle to discuss ways to combat the looming Qunari invasion. However, Giuli is murdered by Emil Kortez, who has agreed to kill the other seven Talons for the Qunari in exchange for the promise of a peaceful invasion. After her death, another member of House Arainai is given her title.
Like...guys the house isn't doing too hot. Zevran really did a fucking number on them AND then one of them agrees to try and kill the other talons? No one wants to associate with House Arainai anymore. Especially not De Riva or Cantori (Viago & Teia) because they were almost murdered by this very plot. So I'm not surprised we get little to no mention of a falling house that's been blacklisted by the organization in Veilguard when we're primarily working with those two.
Hope this helps all those Zevran lovers out there~
One of my biggest gripes with Veilguard is absolutely no acknowledgement of Zevran, the Crow lore established in his backstory, and what a pain in the ass he's been to the crows over the years so I've decided the reason the Crows are so different from how they're described in Origins is because Zevran terrorized the Crows so much they completely changed their modus operandi to be less shit and are so scared of the specter of Zevran Arainai that they dare not speak his name in fear of summoning him to wreck holy hell upon them.

Stop the aggressions against the Zapatistas! - Manifesto signed by Noam Chomsky, Boaventura De Sousa, Raúl Zibechi, Enzo Traverso, Gilberto López y Rivas and more.
Today those who defend the environment are slaughtered every day. At a time like the one that the planet lives in which the protection of those who defend it is required, the opposite happens. Those who have resisted this destruction by the powerful have not stopped saying NO, they have always done so, although the current administration does not want to have memory.
The murder in the community of Amilcingo, Morelos of Samir Flores, a member of the resistance against the Comprehensive Plan Morelos, its gas pipeline and thermoelectric plants that put the life and territory of Nahua communities in Puebla and Morelos at risk; the massacre of 15 Ikoot indigenous people in San Mateo del Mar, Oaxaca, one of the regions that has opposed the Trans-isthmian Corridor projects; the growing paramilitary violence in Chiapas, with 56 attacks in the municipality of Aldama alone, and the kidnapping in February of members of the National Indigenous Council (CNI) of the municipality of Chenalhó are proof that the war continues.
Now the violence is becoming more and more explicit against the Zapatista communities. The growth of the activity of paramilitary groups such as “Los Chinchulines” or the Regional Organization of Coffee Growers of Ocosingo (ORCAO), as well as the appearance of new groups, is exacerbating tension in the region. The theft and burning of warehouses and houses of the Moisés Ghandi community, of the Autonomous Rebel Zapatista Municipality “Lucio Cabañas”, (in the official municipality of Ocosingo), show the increase in the intensity of the aggressions and provocations against the Zapatista Army of National Liberation. The EZLN has respected the ceasefire for years and has focused on strengthening its autonomous organizational processes with schools, clinics, and justice systems. It is serious that one of the ethical references of resistance and construction of concrete and viable alternatives for the planet continues to be under siege, and it is even more serious that the response of those who seek to “transform Mexico” is complicity or oblivion in the face of these extermination attempts. .
It is extremely worrying that this occurs in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, that there are those who seek to take advantage of the vulnerability in which everyone finds themselves to fuel their ambitions for money and power. It is more worrisome when those who are supposedly in charge of preventing such abuses allow and therefore favor them.
Beyond the erroneous or successful changes of the executive power, which shows this escalation of violence in indigenous areas, and the worsening of paramilitary attacks in the Zapatista territory in Chiapas, is the continuity of the racist, colonial and paternalistic vision of the governments. liberals and conservatives, left and right. Projects such as the Mayan Train show the idea of bringing "development" to indigenous peoples by turning them into cheap labor and contributing only the folkloric image of the Mexican indigenous.
The violence and dispossession of indigenous territories that megaprojects such as the Trans-isthmian Corridor or the Mayan Train imply and require are the ethical breaking point of the current Mexican government, it is where the moral stature that President López Obrador has awarded in front of its predecessors begins to collapse.
Those of us who signed this letter are watching carefully what is happening in Mexico, what is happening in the Zapatista communities that for decades have been a benchmark for other ways of living, health, education, justice, politics. We will not allow the extermination of indigenous peoples with the recurring excuse of development.
