things that absolutely messed me up when i was a christian

1: internalized homophobia

where do i even start with this. i recall (being unaware that) i was bisexual after stumbling across the vocaloid song Magnet and becoming absolutely enchanted by the thought of two women in a relationship? i spent so much of my free time expressing my desires towards other women by watching a lot of gay/lesbian vocaloid music videos. it was comforting, but it felt so wrong. and the thought of that 'sin' being recorded in the book of life had me staying up all nights praying that i'll just stop. stop feeling this way about women.

even when i was an early teen i still struggled with the concept of homosexuality. (i went by 'unlabled' throughout my teenage years just because i wanted to figure myself out without feeling the need to change my sexuality labels.) even though i had gay friends that were very wonderful, intelligent and quite frankly- society abiding citizens that only spoke about their gayness when talking about their partners- i felt an awful nagging feeling that it was wrong. why was it wrong? because god said so? i tried to look through every single christian website to have some sort of validation as to why it wasn't wrong to reason with myself but nothing worked.

that was until i deconverted. then it was easier to accept that some humans are attracted to the opposite sex, the same sex, and two sexes without getting tangled up in the mental gymastics of 'being gay isn't a sin but the act of being gay (like romance and marriage) is a sin..)

2: obsession with the end times

maybe it's just my family but i grew up around a mother and a grandmother who were extremely anxious about the upcoming rapture and endtimes. unfortunately, it made ME really anxious about the rapture and end times. i prayed every single night, begging god to cleanse me of my sins so that i would be raptured with him. i hated the fact i couldn't bring my pets with me to heaven and i REALLY didn't like the fact that my non christian friends might've taken the mark of the beast and ended up in hell forever.

i believe that's what upset me the most. i genuinely thought there was going to be a time where i would have to be tortured into getting the mark of the beast and if i refused, be executed. i didn't like the fact that there COULD be some people that couldn't consent to getting the mark of the beast and had it forced upon them- thus damning them to hell. the plagues? no food? water? endless arguments on if the rapture would come before the trumpets, during the 7 year reign of the anti christ, or after.

and then it's not even over because christ reigns for a millennium before heaven is actually established on earth? then the judgement, the lake of fire, separating goats from the sheeps... i thought that i wasn't a good enough christian and even if i did believe in god it was a false conversion and he would send me to hell anyways.

oh my god i can't believe that i used to believe this and tell it to everyone... embaressing

3: women's submission and role towards men.

an argument i heard for this claim was that both men and women are equally as submissive to each other as they are to god. which is... bullshit? i don't believe a marriage should have ANY sort of submission ever. relationships/marriage is supposed to be a teamwork. yes, one can take the initiative (which means going out on dates, vacations, planning etc which isn't bad some people can just be more enthusiastic abt going places than others) but dominance and submissive are inherently harmful in a relationship because neither party has equal ground.

women are told to shut up, not question anything, have no authority over men, pleasure her husband and devote her entire life to god- no matter how ambitious she is. she is forced into the role of a housewife, and made to take care of children in a godly manner and to pass these skills onto her daughter (if she has one) this scared me- because i don't know if i could've ended up in that relationship for the rest of my life and be happy. it sounds like torture. women are treated like property. some pastors CONSIDER them property during their sermons. women are made out to be 'temptresses' that men need to battle against and the blunt of purity culture is reflected on them!

4: centering life/identity around christ

'everything you do, do it for jesus...' , 'is this what jesus would've wanted you to do?' , 'is this what jesus would've behaved?' , ' how would jesus...' shut up shut up shut up shut UP !!! even when i was younger the main thing that almost lead me out of christianity was being forced to center my life around christ. when i was 13, iwas extremely ambitious and really independent. i wanted to know me. i wanted to build my identity- not center it around god! at the time, i knew existed and was my biggest friend... but i didn't want to be a vessel for him.

Very insightful, thank you. You prooved my point, you have no idea what you are talking about. Most probably not bothered to look into what Jesus theaches and what the Bible says. If you did you would know that only the fool says in his heart there is no God. Not my words but a Bible quote.

The world's religions in fact do NOT teach the same thing. Also very interesting that Jesus is the only one, every other religion mestions, respects and says is one way or another talked about the truth and preached God's words. (That might be because He is the Word in flesh).

You can deny it all you want, but that does not make it true. JESUS is the truth.

The Bible was written by 40 different people, it goes on for centuries and more, it all points to one God and to Jesus. Check out all the cross references in the entire book. It's an insame amount for people who did not even met each other. Clue no.1 that it must be something bigger than them. All of the prfecies about Jesus and His coming and saving us is fulfilled except the ones about the endtimes because by the grace of God, we are not there yet. Jesus is in everything. Genesis begins with the creation of the universe, (6days plus the one that God rested on) and believe it or not, its in the exact order that the BigBoom theorist believe all evolved and has a perfect alinement with the Evolution theory (not the part that says we were at one point monkeys obviosly). Curious. It was written 1000s of years ago... dont you find that interesting that God states something and than science runs to "descover" it.

The bigboom theory is just ridiculous. We can clearly see, that in our world everything has a cause. God is the creator, He was the cause this whole thing exists now. Now this is the point most people get it wrong. "Who created God?" No one. He is a infinite beeing, He has no cause, because He is not a part of this world that is based on the cause and consequence. He is apart from it, above it, outside of it, since He created it and it's order.

Hope this helps, of you have more specific questions and not just atheist memes to try to proove your point, I will gladly explain anything about God, anything our theology teaches, even our history. And if I don't know the answer right away (which is not due to the falshood of what I'm saving, just proof that I myself am human and can't always know everything,) then i'll do everything in my power to find the answer for you.

ENDTIME:Glottkin I read it……

Today was my birthday, so I bought and read a book about the hottest genre of warhammer, and its theories. It was really good, so I'll introduce it lightly. "The Glottkin"? What kind of organization is it? Are they good looking? please search for "The Glottkin" at .......

Warhammer is, roughly speaking

1. a predestined world where humans, elves, orks, and dwarves are all fighting each other.

2. the gods of chaos reign in another dimension and lead demons to mess with them.

3. A holy war that transcends right and wrong unfolds!

This is the story.

This book is the final chapter of the original Warhammer fantasy series and the second volume of the End Time series. Starring the three heroic Grott brothers, who serve one of the gods of chaos, the god Nugle, who controls disease and corruption, an unholy apostle with guts in his veins wreaks havoc on the predestined world.

What is depicted is the horrifying and repulsive invasion of the Nurgle cultists... When bloodthirsty beasts swing their rusty axes, flesh rots, plants go mad, and evil clouds rain down a milky, poisonous rain. Corpses filling the roads feed demon maggots, and flies gather like mist, creating a trail to another dimension.

"The demons! The demons of Nurgle are coming, eroding reality!"

Laughing cheerfully, the Father of Decay sings, telling us to give in to despair. The Holy Grail is full. A rotten hero and a human emperor, whose hand will our (their) god lead?

The story is 90% of the evil deeds of Nurgle followers will make you scream, "Oh God!"

The rest of the story is 10% made up of "Oh God!??"

It's a god who can suddenly smack gods in the back of the head... Deus Ex or something.

It is up to the reader to decide whether this is the "true and righteous God who defeats false gods."

The people who will be happy to pick up this are those who "want to see Nurgle's hideous minions in action!"

and especially those who "want to see The Glottkin, aka the Glott 3 brothers, in action!!" I'm both, so I enjoyed it a lot, and those three guys are just too cunning!??

I've written about the charms of the eldest brother Otto, the second son Ethrac, and the third son Ghurek, but this post is getting unreasonably long, so I'll save it for next time.

If I were to evaluate "ENDTIME: Glottkin" as a work, it would be the best entertainment for those who sympathize with the aesthetics of Nurgle and want to enjoy their festival without a bitter aftertaste.

If you want to read a documentary about a harsh world war, as you would expect from the Warhammer series, it may be a little light. The followers of Nurgle are too cheerful to be called grim or hopeless.

I first picked up this book from Age of Sigmar, a fantasy world that was a fresh start for me, and I was quite rotted by Otto, who got serious about his soul, because he was a "glottkin who did a lot of things wrong and still couldn't get over being an idiot. I hope that anyone who thinks, "Hey, I'm kind of curious about what they look like," or "I like how easy it is to believe in the nurgle god," can pick up this book.

Or you can read the e-book "The Fall of Altdorf". I read it after looking up the settings around Nurgle on wiki etc, so I don't know if I'll enjoy it if I just jump right in. Anyway, I can only speak from the perspective of a Nurgle fan. Please forgive me.

Caro is a deeply paranoid and self-absorbed girlfailure of a cat. She is very orange, and has the stupidity to go with it.

After witnessing a cosmic event which she believes to have been the death of god, she began to see herself as a prophet of the endtimes, and started preaching on streetcorners and distributing fliers in an attempt to gain followers for her new religion - preferably ones who would stroke her ego and do her bidding. Because she openly describes her new group as a cult, however, she has only managed to gain one follower, who is also her boyfriend and a sociology student planning on using her and her cult as the topic of his dissertation.

She lives together with her boyfriend in a hollowed out hill, which they treat as a doomsday shelter and use to stockpile food and resources. However, she can't seem to commit to the world ending quite seriously enough, and often leaves the shelter or spends her days idling and bossing her boyfriend around. She's obsessed with making sure he doesn't leave and doesn't doubt her vision of the future, even when she sometimes doubts herself.

I created Caro in high school English class while having extremely high school feelings. I am so devoted to this beast that she has become Real (i.e. I commissioned my friend @/meroaw to make a custom charm of her so she exists in the physical world):

In the above clip (short extract from a longer one), a dā'ī from Misr - Egypt, the brother on the left, wearing a beard and blue qamis, warns against a small dajjāl (before the greater Dajjāl) that has appeared there.

The astonishing thing is that this very dangerous individual was a famous dā'ī (caller to Islām) himself, who started deviating and being very interested in 'ilm Al kalām - philosophy, self-help books and the like, distancing himself away from the Sunnah of our Prophet ﷺ.

This is the story of 'Ammāra, who had a significant following as a dā'ī, and got bigger and bigger, as he became more interested in self help books and self development and other deviated creeds, far from the Qur'an and Sunnah.

'Ammāra claims in the clip (the dā'i is commenting) that he is now like a small Deity on earth who is testing people in the Dunya before they will be tested by Allāh in the Ākhirah!

He is claiming no less than Ulūhiyya (divinity - being worthy of worship) and Rubūbiyyah (Lordship), says the dā'i....

The dā'i starts at the beginning by reminding us of the ahadīth of the Prophet ﷺ about the Dajjāl and how he will be reaching every place, every house in the world, not entering Makkah and Madinah where he will be prevented from entry. The prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned us that the Dajjāl will claim that he is God - The deity to be worshipped and obeyed.

The dā'i then tells the stories that we now from narrations about the Dajjāl appearing to bring back to life a man, saying to the people: if I bring him back to life, will you believe in me ? The people will say yes. He will then bring him back to life, leading the people to believe that he is indeed The Deity. This and other stories show us how great the Fitnah of the Dajjāl will be !!

The dā'i then says : our respected Doctor here does not come with any seemingly amazing "miracles" yet he claims to be God ! 'Ammārah claims to be in the process of becoming a small God - obviously the dā'i says this is clear Kufr.

He also explains that him claiming that he is training to be a small God is the Kufr that Pharaoh fell into.

Pharaoh on top of killing the children of Misr claimed to be a God, and this Ahmad 'Ammārah is a new one !

WaLLĀhu Al musta'ān - and it is Allāh whose help is sought...
