#Endeavor refused to look at Touya and Touya refused to disappear or let the past die so now he’s Dabi

I always thought this was Toga (disguised as Camie) simply talking about her ‘disappearing’ technique, but I realize - this could be applied to her life pre-crime.
Hiding herself - her true self - from everyone. Stop thinking for herself, think of nothing at all, just move on automatic, obeying without thought. The whole “not thinking” is the hard part - we have brains for a reason. We have a mind and heart unique to ourselves, thinking our private thoughts - but now you need to shut that away.
When people stop breathing, they die. If Toga ‘stops breathing’, she dies. Toga Himiko dies, then there’s no longer a ‘Toga Himiko’, no longer a self.
Be empty and dead inside, and you can blend in with the crowd. Have no sense of self, and you can be whoever people want you to be. Had Toga stop being herself, then her parents will stop yelling at her, people will accept her.
She can live a ‘normal’ life, but only if she’s a hollow shell.

I have a question but why do you think so many people are against Dabi/Touya getting a redemption arc or getting saved? Like some are against him being saved but are all down for Shiggy and Toga to be saved? I usually see the same argument and it’s frustrating! Like before I explain myself just want to say I’m not hating on Shiggy or do I feel like he’s any less worth saving but I see these arguments that leave me baffled. So the arguments I have seen before is some people don’t think Dabi/Touya can be redeemed or saved because he has murdered 30+ people, but like Shiggy has probably killed the same amount of not more people so that logic doesn’t really cut it. So why does it make a difference? Like why are people so against Dabi/Touya being saved or redeemed?
Well, I'll start this by saying that Shigaraki has ABSOLUTELY KILLED MORE PEOPLE HOLY SHIT DUDE. It's not even up for debate 😂 that boy flattened two cities with the touch of a hand. Shiggy is my favorite hands down and I'll defend the boy til I die but he has done so much more damage. That's kind of the point to his arc--actually. But anyways~
Content Warning of abuse below the cut a bit further down--
So with that--I've wondered the same thing you're asking. Why is Touya getting so much hate? Why not redeem him? Well, there's a few reasons that I have seen:
Endeavor- This is the first and foremost reason I can see for Touya having so many antis. This is something I can't grasp or fathom--Why do so many people like Endeavor? Or more like--why do so many people want to see an abuser thrive and his victim be put down? I can understand wanting to see an abuser better himself AND wanting to see the victim thrive, and I can see people wanting the abuser to be put down and the victim to thrive. But to just want the abuser to come out on top? No. Fuck you. (not you anon). So for whatever reason that I cannot fathom, people can't stand the idea of Touya surviving, being saved and redeemed, because it means that Enji has failed (which he already has but--again I really don't understand that side of the fandom and quite frankly I don't want to). So yeah, Endeavor has a lot of ridiculous fans. Hawks- I've already talked about how ridiculous some of the Hawks-stans are. I'm sorry but---they're fucking ridiculous. Some of them need to step away from their computer, go outside, breath some outside air, and shut the fuck up. And let me tell you---we sometimes joke about how the hero-stan side of the fandom lacks critical thinking skills and can't read past the surface--but I want to disagree with to an extent. I can tell you right now, Hawks's stans saw THIS:
Tumblr media
And they knew. Seeing Hawks remain in the dark while Dabi walked toward the light. They knew what this was foretelling. And they didn't like it. And then this happened:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And they DEFINITELY did not like that. And then Dabi went and made fried chicken out of him and they found more reason to hate him with all their being. Hawks was kind of set up to die heroically--and even though his arc is pretty bad right now, I still think that at this point that’s the best ending for him. For me, he’s gone too long without even remotely thinking of changing his ideologies, and has been backing Endeavor unquestionably for a bit too long now. It’s just not looking good for him survival-wise. And his stans either SEE this very clearly and are in denial and need something to hate in order to deal with it, OR they really just aren’t looking as deep into the story as they need to. Those panels I used above though honestly tell it all. That being said he very well may survive and not have any consequences from his low point at all--but then he gets thrown in the “BNHA’s shittiest written arcs” pile. But whatever.
Also--shoutout to the blogs I follow and people I talk to who genuinely LOVE Hawks’s character but like--aren’t ridiculous about it and don’t harass people in their inboxes about it. Who also try to understand his character and not just make him out to be a uwu baby that never did anything wrong. TRUE Hawks-stans if I ever saw em.
Shouto--This is FAR less common than the other two reasons, but I have seen a few people who think this. They love Shouto (understandably--he’s a fluffy boy who needs a hug from his big brother Touya), but they think that Touya is going to be Shouto’s “final boss”, or his mortal enemy or something. Which--idk if they just refuse to read into Shouto’s awesome character on purpose or not, but he is not about to go out there and try to kill his big brother, who he never got to know, who he KNOWS suffered because of their father, and who is very very clearly in physical, mental, and emotional pain. Again--Shouto-stans are a  far less part of the problem. But I’ve seen this misunderstanding of Shouto’s character go around a few times.
This next one is also big, and kind of falls into the same category with Endeavor up top--but it’s such a huge issue that I’m seeing that it needs its own paragraph: People don’t understand children’s behaviors, abuse, abusive family dynamics, and just child psychology in general. Child psychology is hard to understand--but also very simple. It’s hard as an adult to think back to how black and white the world was when you were a kid. Your parents were your safe place--they were your guardians. Or rather--they were supposed to be. This isn’t always the case though. And the Todoroki family exhibits a lot of realistic aspects of abuse. Even though the Todoroki backstory was very messily written--one thing is absolute: Endeavor emotionally abused his child. The issue is that Shouto’s and Rei’s physical abuse was shown FIRST in the story--and THEN we were shown what really happened with Touya wasn’t so easily identified as abuse (I mean it is--to me, but not to everybody). And people got stuck on comparing Touya’s and Shouto’s childhood instead of viewing them as two completely separate crimes Endeavor committed against his family. And they misunderstand Touya’s behaviors. Peep back at when I said that your parents are supposed to be your safe place--well, for Touya, Enji WAS his safe place, his guardian, his world. And then suddenly all of that disappeared without reason (good reason I mean). And that takes a serious toll on a child. I could honestly go on and on and on about this topic in particular but it’s not necessary for this ask. The point is---people don’t think Touya was actually abused or that he suffered as a child. They seriously lack an understanding when it comes to stuff like that. And they aren’t shy about showing it to the rest of the internet.
The last reason which I think kind of encompasses all of these reasons: People don’t understand redemption arcs--because they’re not your run of the mill Heroes vs. Villains story. It makes it to where it’s not clearly obvious whose side you should take. I guess people don’t like that---but I love it. Why not take BOTH sides?
Tumblr media
You get to have more fun this way imo. You get to watch and see how the two sides come together--rather than just stick to one ideology til the end. I think it’s because people don’t like having their ideals, beliefs, and values challenged. It may be personal for some people--but forgiveness is a touchy subject as well.  And I also think a lot of people very much think that the rules of our reality should exist within fiction. People forget that fiction exists for us to escape reality--I don’t know why this is so easily forgotten. But what’s cool about fictional stories is that everybody can have a happy ending--no matter how many atrocities they committed, people they hurt/killed, because guess what? NOBODY ACTUALLY GOT HURT!
But anyway---these are the conclusions I’ve come to regarding why Touya has so many haters. Some are legitimate reasons (the last two I listed) and some are just outright ridiculous (the first three I listed).
I’m not bothered though. I would LIKE to say that when these villain-saving chapters come out I’ll laugh hysterically at all the villain-haters’ reactions---BUT I already blocked almost all of them. 😂

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You felt sore all over and your head was throbbing, but nothing compared to how hungry you were. It had taken hours for your heat to simmer down enough for the two of you to finally get out of the too small for Dabi’s large frame bed. To be honest, you weren’t even sure when or how you two even made it to the bedroom.
But here you were several hours later, starving, and a different need growing as you took in the contents of the small apartment. You needed to nest, and there wasn’t much to use. You would have to see if Dabi could go out and fetch some things for you…
“Mhh… somethin’ smells good.” You had been too lost in thought to notice Dabi stroll into the kitchen until he was leaning against your back, his arms wrapping around you pressing you against him and he pressed his lips to the bond mark on your neck inhaling your scent.
“You still like your eggs scrambled right?” You tried to ignore the way his fingers felt across your hips playing with the edge of his hoodie that you were wearing, the way his smell enveloped you and made your insides twist in excitement. You focused instead on how hungry you were. You had never had to deal with a heat this intense, having been on suppressants since your very first heat. To be fair, you also had never been allowed to actually indulge in your heat which you were sure was only making it worse.
“I was talking about you.” He was pressing kisses along your neck at this point, pulling at the neckline of the hoodie, his voice gravellier than normal from the brief hour of sleep that he had gotten. You didn’t understand how he still had so much energy, but you guessed that it was just his alpha’s stamina, even you were tired and you were the one in heat.
“Touya, I’m hungry, let me eat firs-.” You turned to him whining, your voice catching in your throat at noticing how completely naked he was. In the soft light of the morning, you could see everything, and you were pretty sure the man in front of you was an angel sent from heaven.
“I’ll give you something to eat, little mouse” He leaned over you, his hands settling on either side trapping you against the stove you were at and you could hear the pan that the eggs were on shifting slightly behind you. You couldn’t lean away or else you’d burn yourself.
Maybe he was closer to a demon. A damned incubus.
You could feel your cheeks heating up along with your core, but it wasn’t unbearable yet. Apparently even your horny omega was too hungry to be sent back into a frenzy. Not to mention the growing anxiety of not having a nest was making you a bit temperamental.
When Dabi noticed the frown growing across your features, he pouted a bit but backed off running his hand through his messy bed head.
“I thought that an omega’s heat lasted longer.” He was moving around you, grabbing a drink of water out of the fridge leaning against it not bothering to hide anything as he watched you finish cooking.
“We still have to eat and take care of ourselves. It’s  not just… constant … you know.. all the time.” You could see his lips pulling up in amusement watching as you tried to find the words that you wanted. It didn’t help that he was completely naked.
“You were screaming at me to fuck you all night, but now you can’t even talk about it?”
“Anyways…” You stated pointedly, separating the eggs along with the bacon that you had made onto two separate paper plates. You were glad you insisted on getting those at the store yesterday, Dabi hadn’t even thought about it. “What about you? I thought rutting alpha’s were supposed to be crazy insatiable and rough.” Not that you minded at all that he had been gentler with you... you had honestly been a little scared when you noticed he had started to rut, even though it felt good you were expecting him to go crazy like you had heard other alpha’s do..
Dabi had disappeared back into the bedroom for just a brief moment before coming back out fully clothed now, much to your relief.
“I’m on suppressants that make it more managable, it’s kind of hard to be on the down low if I have to deal with ruts every couple weeks. Last night barely could be counted. Though… if you want me to I could show you what a real rut is like.” There he was again, teasing you, making your omega drool. As much as you were scared of what a real rut could be, it didn’t change the fact that as an omega you were built for it. Just like his alpha was built to have crazy stamina to keep up with you in a heat, you were built to take the brunt force of his rut and even enjoy it, crave it.
You shoved the thoughts out of your brain, just as you shoved his plate into his hands, ignoring the chuckles leaving his lips at your embarrassment at your own thoughts. His eyes stayed on you as you moved to sit down at the island counter, munching away on your breakfast, your stomach thanking you.
“It’ll happen at some point though; the suppressants can only do so much and with you going into heats it’ll just make it harder to control until I end up going into a real rut.”
You nodded, you knew when it came down to it, it would be fine. You just didn’t want to deal with it right now. Right now, you wanted to finish breakfast and start on your nest, and you had already taken a mental stock of everything in the apartment that could be used. You really needed Dabi to go out and get more.
“Can you go to the store for me?” He looked up from his plate with confusion on his face. Why would you want to send him away right now?
“Why? I’m not leaving you alone when you’re in heat.” He said it like he was pointing out the obvious, and you guessed he was. But you had to get more materials, and you knew he wouldn’t let you go out either.
“Please? I just need some more blankets, and maybe a couple pillows…” It took a few seconds as you sorted through your brain of what to tell him to get, but you saw the understanding dawn across his features as he placed his empty plate down on the counter across from you.
“Can’t you make do with what we have? I’m not leaving you here unprotected. Not right now. Can’t it wait until after your heat? Or better yet when we are set up somewhere more permanent?”
Your thoughts stopped. He didn’t want you to nest? He wanted you to wait for a more permanent place? If you had learned anything over the last week of being with him, you knew nothing would be permanent, which meant that you would never get to nest. So he didn’t want you to nest?
Dabi could see the crestfallen look cross your face, knew that he said something wrong, something that upset you. Just like he always does. He wanted to make you happy, he really did, but he wasn’t going to leave you unprotected when you were in the middle of a heat, especially freshly bonded, with heroes  after you.
“I’ll see if I can get ahold of kurogiri, maybe he can find a way to get what you nee-.”
“No!” Your scent was quickly turning sour as your anxiety and anger mounted. “I don’t want him to taint the scent of anything, I don’t want anyone else touching it.”
“Y/N” His voice was a warning. One that you ignored.
“Dabi pl-“
“No!” Your omega let out a chirp as Dabi slammed his hands down onto the counter, them lighting up with blue flames as he glared at you. Why wouldn’t you listen? He was just trying to keep you safe, didn’t you understand what could happen? Did you understand the danger you were in? What would happen if Endeavor found you, in heat, all alone, freshly bonded to a villain?
Tears pricked at your eyes but you refused to cry, instead you turned on your heel going back into the room, slamming the door shut behind you and clicking the lock on the door in place much to Dabi’s annoyance. You could hear him right outside the door as you collapsed onto the bed burying your face into the pillow blocking out the sounds of him pounding on the door.
“Y/N, we both know I can just burn this door down if you don’t open it right fucking now.”
The pounding was getting louder.
“I swear to god-“
“What?! What are you going to do? Use your fire, burn it down? Use your alpha voice and force me to open it and to listen to you? It doesn’t matter.” You knew that your sour scent was probably seeping through every inch of the apartment, being contained only by the scent proof barriers. You didn’t even try to contain it, to seem less upset than you actually were.
Everything stopped, it was quiet, other than the soft muttering of curses on the other side of the door before they moved away off somewhere else in the apartment. You took several deep breaths to calm yourself, inhaling his scent from the pillow. It didn’t help. You could feel your frustration and anger mounting until the tears pricked at your eyes. He didn’t even listen to you, didn’t let you explain how badly you needed this. He just shut you down. Was this always going to be a thing? Where he just expected you to head to his every whim?
You realized that he wasn’t the same person as he was all those years ago, that he was used to getting his way by now, but you didn’t think he would act like he was. That he would just forget how Important it was to you to be able to nest after not being able to for so many years. To just forget how cruel it was to deny an omega their basic needs.
An hour or two had gone by and he had stayed away, ignoring you just as much as you ignored him. You had just gotten comfortable on the bed, making what little of a makeshift nest you could trying to comfort yourself when there was another knock on the door, this one being more friendly, lighthearted even, accompanied with a smell that confused you. Was someone else here?
“Y/N? It’s Toga… Dabi went out for a bit and asked me to keep you company, can I come in?”
You hesitated for a minute before crawling out of the bed and moving to unlock the door, peering at Toga and behind her to confirm that Dabi was indeed not waiting for an opportunity to bust through the door. When you were satisfied you opened it all the way allowing her to step inside your bedroom but she kept her distance, wrinkling her nose at your lingering scent, and chose to sit on the ground at the doorway instead, playing with her knife between her fingers as you retreated back to your bed.
“Dabi said you were nesting and in heat, I know better than to get too close.”
“Fuck him, you can do whatever you want. If he want’s to argu-“
“He’s not the one I’m worried about.”
You quieted down, confusion crossing your face. Why would she be afraid of an omega?
“My mom was an omega, you guys can be scary protective sometimes.” Looking at Toga sitting on the ground hugging her knees you realized again just how young she really was… You guessed she was about 17 but you knew that she had been on the run for awhile, when exactly did she leave home?
“I bet she was super protective of you. Omega’s are always protective of their pups.”
“I think so, she did try to kill me once though.” The way Toga said that statement sounded so casual that it took you a moment to fully understand what she was saying. She kept going though, unfazed.
“I remember I tried to crawl into her nest right before I left, to say goodbye. I was just going to give her a hug, a little present I made her and leave, maybe take some blood to remember her with but I wasn’t going to hurt her. I would never hurt her.” Toga looked up at for confirmation that you understood what she was saying before she continued. You tugged the fur blanket up around you for comfort, having a sinking feeling in your gut.
“She woke up though. What a shame really, she was so cute when she was sleeping. She used to tell me the same thing, that I was so cute, but after what had happened at school with that boy, she didn’t call me cute anymore. She woke up… I didn’t know that she had a knife, I didn’t think she would actually hurt me… she just kept screaming to… get out.” Toga sounded far off, like she was reliving that night and not sitting on your bedroom floor. You wanted to hug her, but you also didn’t know if that would be okay, so you sat silently listening to her speak in a hushed whisper.
“So yea, she stabbed me and I left. It was not cute.”  The way she perked right back up gave you whiplash. Like she hadn’t just told you that her own mother had hurt her. Sure, your parents had sold you, but they didn’t out and out stab you. Looking at her and Dabi’s background it was no wonder they were villains.
“She stabbed you?” The shock was apparent in your voice, causing Toga’s bright smile to appear again, her long canines peeking out.
“Yea, I still have the scar, do you wanna see?” Before you could even answer, Toga jumped up from her spot, pulling her sweater up revealing a nasty scar just under her ribs causing you to flinch at the sight. A smile on her face as she poked it a couple times. “It was a really lucky aim too. A centimeter in any direction and she would of hit something important. I think it was her way of showing she still loved me. She didn’t want me to die yet. She knew I had work to do. She’s such a good mom.”
You watched Toga, dumbfounded as she pulled her sweater back down into it’s place smoothing her skirt before leaning back against the door frame, her knife ever present in her hand, like it was a comfort object.
“I go visit her every once in a while, when I can. Just pop in for a quick hello, but I make sure not to wake her up anymore. I just leave her presents right outside of her nest, I know better now than to go in.”
A chime sounded throughout the room making you jump, Toga waving to you to relax as she pulled out a cellphone glancing at it for a moment before typing out a quick reply, her smile widening.
“Twice says hi by the way.” You could see the girlish charm radiating off of her. She looked like a lovesick kid, more so than usual.
“Hi back? What’s going on with you two by the way, if I can ask?”
She glanced back up at you, confusion crossing her face like you asked her such an odd question.
“What do you mean? He’s my friend.”
“O-oh I just mean that you two seem really close… like you were courting or something.” The blush that settled across Toga’s cheeks was distinctly different than what you had previously seen on her. Like she was actually embarrassed about something.
“Why would you think that? The only person I am courting with is Deku.”
Confusion crossed your face now, recognizing Deku as one of Shoto’s friends. His real name was Midoriya, an omega that was doing fairly well in the hero course despite his secondary sex. You were pretty sure he was not, indeed, courting a villain, almost 100% sure.  Was this one of her obsessive fantasies?
“I’m sorry, I just… thought the two of you seemed like you liked each other like that. Sorry I must have misread the situation.” You treaded lightly around the subject, not wanting to push it. You knew that Beta’s weren’t as possessive of their mates usually, but with Toga you could never really be sure how she would react. Still the blush didn’t leave her cheeks, and you noticed her biting her lip for a moment before her phone chimed again and she quickly picked it back up typing back a reply lightning fast.
“So where did T-.. Dabi go, I thought he was adamant about staying here?” You cleared your throat to cover up your mess up. Toga didn’t even blink. You needed to make sure you remembered not to let his identity slip. These were his friends, sure, but he didn’t trust them with this, and you weren’t about to screw it up.
“Hmm? Oh I think he went on a mission? I’m not super sure, Twice and I were watching a movie when Kurogiri showed up at our place saying that Dabi needed me to come hangout with you. Twice tried to come but Dabi made it pretty clear that he didn’t want any boys near you. Which none of us blame him, heat’s make omega’s crazy.”
“I’m not crazy.” You clenched your fists into the fur blanket, feeling your anger mounting at her words.
“Oh but aren’t you? I’ve seen what happens to an omega on heat. Not only do y’all just want to breed like crazy but you get mega cranky. Worse than any normal period. I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with that, I much rather deal with the blood and the cramps.” She wasn’t even looking at you as she spoke, her eyes glued to the screen in front of her with such focus, like she was desperately trying to understand something that was confusing her.
You could feel your frustration rising but knew that lashing out would only prove everyone’s point. You weren’t being crazy, what was crazy was telling an omega in heat to wait to nest. What was crazy was going out on a mission and leaving you behind but refusing to go to the damned store for you. What the fuck was wrong with him. What was crazy was having you being baby-sat by an immature lovesick beta that didn’t understand anything, including her own feelings, let alone how you felt.
You were mad. At Dabi, at Toga, at the whole world. Omega’s were constantly looked down on in society which was stupid considering without them Alpha’s wouldn’t exist. You cannot have an alpha without an omega. They were yin and yang, the sun to the moon, two sides of the same coin, yet for some reason omega’s were treated like dirt and were considered weak and needy. Not to mention, apparently crazy for their fucking hormones. Alpha’s weren’t talked down upon for their ruts. For their stupid want to protect and be possessive of what was theirs.
You were livid, to the point that you were pretty sure if you had a powerful fire quirk like Dabi that the whole room would be aflame, but no. Instead you had a weak quirk that was perfect for an omega. One that didn’t even extend to other people and half the time didn’t work. Honestly you didn’t understand your quirk, Endeavor had decided early on that it was unnecessary for you to fully test the limits of your quirk as you weren’t going to be a hero and therefore didn’t need it. He just needed to know that you wouldn’t burn from his families’ fire. You had never cared about it until now, but for some reason, now it mattered to you. You wanted to know how it worked. Maybe if you could figure it out, maybe you could better know how to protect yourself, and Dabi would stop treating you like you were a porcelain doll. That needed to be told what to do and when to do it in order for you to be safe.
Maybe you could become an actual member of the league, not just a housewife omega. One that people listened to. Maybe you could help them take down Endeavor, while still protecting the rest of the Todoroki’s that didn’t do anything wrong. Maybe-
“Earth to Y/N.”
“Huh?” Your eyes focused on Toga, not realizing you had spaced out. She was looking at you with concern, you assumed she had been trying to get your attention for a couple minutes.
“Dabi’s on his way back.”
“Oh…” Your thoughts quieted down to one thought alone, that you wanted to fight for what you had. That you wanted to learn how to protect yourself and not rely so much on the other’s around you. That you wanted a say in your future and you wanted to fight tooth and nail for the freedom for you and Dabi to be together and have whatever life the two of you wanted without worries about constantly running from stuck up heroes that thought they knew everything. You wanted to be a strong omega, that could hold her own next to her alpha. That could take care of herself and her family. He was yours and you were his and you weren’t going to let anything change that. You were going to prove to Dabi and to the rest of the world that you weren’t a cry baby.
You heard the front door unlock and open and you jumped out of the bed pushing past Toga to meet Dabi in the living room only to stop in your tracks at the end of the hallway, your eyes wide.
“Is this fucking enough?”

How would Dabi be with a civilian s/o:
Tumblr media
>𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩:
In all honesty, this man probably bumped into you on the sidewalk or in a store. Of course he was disguised, but you did catch a glimpse of his scars. Or burns? You couldn’t remember.
“Hey. Watch it.” He said a bit annoyed. “I’m sorry. Forgive me.” You responded with a kind smile. Dabi’s mind went: cute.
After you left, he followed you. Out of protection for you and because he wanted to know where you lived. Very blunt, I know.
Dabi stalked you. Plain and simple. When he wasn’t busy with the league, he made it his mission to be near you. He found out where you worked, what restaurants you liked to eat at, family members, your friends. All the stuff he could get his hands on.
Your name was beautiful. Dabi found himself saying your name over and over again to himself but caught himself and scoffed. “Damn woman.”
He would be lying if he said he didn’t fantasize of having a relationship with you. The sex part and the usual bases of a relationship. Hand holding, talking. Everything.
But it was until he got caught by you in an alleyway did he know he was fucked. He was Dabi. The Cremation Villain. Villain. That’s what he was. All he ever would be, even to you.
“Hi. You’re the guy I bumped into the other day, isn’t it?” You say snapping him away from his thoughts. He chuckles. “Yeah.” He answers.
“I’m Y/n. What’s your name?” You ask. I know. I know everything about you. “Dabi.” He saw your eyes widen a bit. “Oh. You’re the villain aren’t you?” He nods. “But I’m not gonna hurt or mug you. I have no reason to anyway.” He explains and your shocked face relaxes into a smile. “Good. I’m broke anyway.” You joke and he chuckles.
“You’re not gonna call the cops or run for your life?” Dabi asks while you shake your head. “I have no reason to.” You repeat his words back at him and it was his turn to be shocked. “Well, see ya around. Dabi.” You walk past him and wave.
What?
After that, you started seeing Dabi everywhere you went. You, being you, didn’t find it weird or creepy. Actually, you felt a bit safer knowing that if you were to bump into trouble, you had him there.
You left some snacks and letters for him by your mailbox where you knew he stood. Dabi happily took it and snacked on it while he read your letters. Some were just a “hi :)” or “I saw you ;)” it made him chuckle, that’s for sure.
Finally, after months, he found himself in your apartment. You were at work, which he obviously knew, so he decided to snoop around. See what this girl who caught his attention  was like.
You had basic stuff. A table, 2 chairs and a small ass kitchen. A tiny TV with a run down couch which looked like it was going to break at any moment. He actually felt sorry for you.
Your bedroom was a simple, single bed with a white blanket and two pillows. A wardrobe with some of your clothes. He knew you didn’t do laundry at your apartment, since you went to the one down the street, and he saw your basket starting pile up with clothes.
He knew what he was going to do.
He put on his “disguise” and went to the laundry place. He stayed there for 2 hours waiting for your clothes to be ready. And when it was, he realized what the actual fuck he was doing.
He was a criminal, a murderer but here he was, doing laundry for a girl he doesn’t know.
After putting your clothes on your bed, he left. He wanted you. He wanted you and he didn’t know what the hell he was going to do.
When you came home, you saw your clothes done and a note beside it:
“You live horribly. Just saying.”
-D.
You scoffed. “Idiot.” You slowly started falling for this man. And you had no idea how or what to do about it.
Couple of days later, after having supper with your friends, Dabi was by your door. Sitting, apparently waiting for you.
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t my stalker.” You say walking up the stairs to see him. Dabi looked up and chuckled. “Well, that’s a bit harsh.” He says standing up and facing you.
“What brings you here? Want to do more laundry?” You joke and he scratches his head. “Actually, I want to talk to you.” “About?” Fuck. Dabi wasn’t prepared.
“I-, uh.-..” he starts to say. Dammit. How was this so hard?! “Dabi.” You call his name and he looks at you. God, his name sounded good coming from your lips.
“I..like you. I know it’s weird. I don’t even know you. But you seem to be a good person, underneath the scars and burns.” You say and Dabi stares at you. He scoffs and avoids your big e/c eyes. “Damn, Y/n. You made this easier for me.” He says.
“What do you-..,” you don’t get to finish your sentence because his lips landed on yours. He tasted like cigarettes. But it wasn’t unpleasant, you actually liked it.
Pulling away, he cups your cheek and softly kisses your forehead. “I’ll see you around, angel.” Dabi softly tells you and disappears into the night, leaving you wonder what just happened.
Dabi returned back to you after a week. A mission came up and he wanted to at least taste you before he left.
It was 10pm when he knocked on your door. He knew you would be up because you didn’t have work the next day so you would be up watching those shows you love so much.
He waits patiently outside for you. After heading the door open, he sees you. In your robe, wide-eyed and confused.
“Dabi?” You say and walks up to you. “Where were you?” You ask as he moves closer. “Why? Were you worried?” Dabi asks and you blush. “Maybe.” You reply and he smirks.
“Y/n.” He calls and you look up at him, while his finger hooked under your chin.
“What I’m about to tell you, I have never done before. I like you and it terrifies me. But I want you to be mine. You can deny. I won’t blame you. No one would like to be with a villain anyway.” He finishes and looks at you.
All you did was whisper a soft “yes” and brought his lips to yours.
>𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩:
Dabi spent the night of his confession with you. Not in sex, just sleeping with you. Honestly, he hasn’t slept that well in years.
The next morning he left you, having needed to return back to the league. But he did get you breakfast.
You didn’t tell anyone that you were involved with someone, let alone a villain. You didn’t want Dabi to get caught.
A few months into your relationship, Dabi started to give you money. Where he got it from, you didn’t know. But when you refused, he took the money and bought something for your apartment. A new couch, food, a new TV. New bedding. He practically renovated your apartment.
Although the both of you had discussed it, Dabi couldn’t stay longer than a week with you. He couldn’t have the League asking questions of his whereabouts and exposing you.
He would rather leave without giving you a day he would be back thangive you false hope and get sad about him.
But that one week per month that he did stay, was the best week you ever had.
Dabi and you watched movies, played cards, cooked. He even taught you some recipes that he remembered from all those years ago.
When it came to sex, Dabi cared for you like no other did before him. He was gentle and loving almost. He hated leaving you in the morning too. That’s why he saved those intimate times for the nights he knew he could stay.
Now, almost a year into your relationship, Dabi trusted you with his life. When he would run from the police, he came to your apartment. Sometimes at 4am.
Knock knock. You hear on the window. Walking up to it, you see him. “Dabi?!” You whispers shout, “What the hell?” “Sorry, angel face. Gotta hide. May I?” “Of course you idiot. Get in here!”
You would wear his shirt all the time. And he loved seeing you in it.
Dabi also liked laying on your tummy, in between your legs while you ran your hands through his hair. That’s when you saw it.
🚫SPOILER🚫
“Baby? Why is your hair white?” You ask and he shoots up and touches his head. “What?” “It’s white. By your crown.” You point and he sprints to the bathroom.
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” You hear him whisper. Dabi sorta calms down and comes back into your room.
“Y/n. There’s something I need to tell you.” He says seriously. You sit up while he sits down next to you. He places his hand on your thigh and looks at you.
“My name, my real name, is Touya Todoroki. Endeavor is my father..” he begins and continues with his whole story. You listen intently and squeeze his hand in reassurance.
After he poured out all of the shit that he kept on his chest for years, you leaped into his arms making you both fall back on the bed, and smothered him in kisses.
You kissed his scars on his neck and mouth. Then moved to the ones under his eyes. He watched you and you then kissed him fully.
“Can I call you Touya?” You whisper and he nods. “Only here though.” “Of course. Thank you, babe. For telling me.” You say and he hugs you tighter. No. Thank you, Y/n.
It was a bumpy ride with plenty of fights between the two of you, but it was just out of missing each other. He tried keeping you safe as did you.
Dabi loved you. He really did. He told you on night before he left for three weeks. It was emotional and raw, because you loved him too.
But little did he know, someone had picked up on his routine...

Shigaraki Can’t Be Destroyed
Tumblr media
I often get asked this question. Can Shigaraki still be saved? Yes. Alright, post done. Time to go home. Just kidding. I thought I’d do a more comprehensive post not only on why Shigaraki can still be saved, but also why saving him is the only thing that will work.
The most important thing about Shigaraki’s character is the idea that he: could have been saved. He was a kid who wanted to be a hero just like Deku and would have been in different circumstances. It’s not some internal quality of Shigaraki’s that drove him to villainry, but rather external circumstances. The thing about circumstances is, they change! Shigaraki will react differently under different circumstances.
Shigaraki is first and foremost, a reaction to problems within society. Punishing Shigaraki will not make the circumstances that created Shigaraki go away. Which is why the most productive response to him, is reform rather than destruction. Society needs to be reformed, Shigaraki needs to be reformed, there’s still a chance for both. Shigaraki can still be saved, because the entire point of his character is that Shigaraki would not even exist if heroes had been doing their job in the first place.
1. If Gran Torino hadn't been so against saving Shigaraki do you think they could've helped Shigaraki?
Tumblr media
Yes. Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes. To me the most meaningful quote in regards to Shigaraki’s character is this one. If, at that time, just one person had extended a helping hand...
We have been told time and time again that Shigaraki is past the point of saving (by heroes who hold high status in hero society, funny that) only to be shown the opposite. It’s the system that has given up on Shigaraki. It is the system that remarks that Shigaraki is unredeemable.
Even when Shigaraki says that he wanted to kill his family on purpose, that he was happy to see them dead we are shown this is something he was told by AFO to manipulate him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those aren’t Shigaraki’s own beliefs but rather him accepting what AFO told him, him falling victim to AFO’s grooming. He claims he wants to be released from his family but even after the fight with Re-Destro he still holds onto one family hand. (It’s also theorized that the sole hand remaining is Nana Shimura’s hand, the grandmother that inspired little Tenko to become a hero hust like her.
Tumblr media
The hands always have been a symbol of the guilt and remorse Shigaraki feels for killing his family. An unrepetant, symbol of destruction would not feel that way. He wouldn’t be so guilty that he’s constantly apologizing to even the hand of his father who abused him.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki has always carried remorse for killing his family, his desire to be a hero, and also guilt for having a terrible quirk only meant for killing others in his heart. Those feelings never disappear, just like Tenko has never truly died. It’s just that Shigaraki is pushed by circumstances to react in a certain way. It’s demonstrated by the dream he has with his family. Shigaraki is very loving and tender, and also, forgiving of his dead family.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki doesn’t hold a grudge against society because he doesn’t want to forgive. It’s the opposite actually. Shigaraki wants to let go of the past. However we’re shown in the same flashback that it’s Shigaraki’s family that refuses to let go of him.
Tumblr media
Shigaraki is happy to see his father at first, but when he sees his father’s violent hand reaching out towards him, he responds with his destructive impulses. Shigaraki wants to forgive and love his family again, but then he’s reminded of their rejection of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shigaraki has always wanted to be a member of hero society. He’s always wanted to be a part of the picture with everybody else. However, Shigaraki is continually rejected by hero society again and again. Not just for his bad actions. This rejection started when he was a child who had done nothing wrong. Shigaraki is rejected for his trauma. Shigaraki in his dream is gentle, forgiving, until his family turns controlling and only then does Shigaraki respond with violence. Shigaraki as a person is someone who is sensitive who respects the feelings of others, and only becomes violent in response to society’s rejection of him.
The more the hero system tries to destroy him, the more Shigaraki responds with destruction of his own. Shigaraki is a very responsive character defined by his environment. When he is in a healthier environment such as with the league he acts pretty much like the villain’s equivalent of a hero, he protecst his friends, he cares for their needs and gives them a second family to call home. It’s the hero systems continual rejection of him that pushes him further, and further along the path of villainry. Shigaraki is radicalized and fights back harder with each violent rejection. He started out as a minor villain, but the defeat by All Might, the loss of AFO, the loss of Magne,  all of these things have served to push him further along until he’s reached this point. It’s important the key words to Shigaraki’s arc are if only someone had reached out a helping hand.
There are two key differences between him and Deku. Deku is someone who has been helped every step of the way whenever he’s needed it. Deku had All Might show up and tell him he could be a hero. Deku has the support of Aizawa. Deku had the mentorship of Gran Torino The opposite has always been true for Shigaraki. The people who gave every effort to help Deku did not lift a finger for Shigaraki. Aizawa has no empathy for Shigaraki despite taking care of Eri, and being told by Kurogiri that some part of him cares for Shigaraki. Gran Torino despite knowing Nana Shimura makes no effort to rescue her grandchild. All Might knowing exactly how manipulative AFO is never makes the connection that Shigaraki might have been abused and manipulated.
The point is, how can you say that Shigaraki can’t be helped at this point when all the people who could have helped him at any step of the way never so much as lifted a finger?
This is a deliberate story parallel. Deku gets helped, Shigaraki does not. Deku gets better, Shigaraki gets worse. We are told that Shigaraki might have been different if just one person tried to save him, and then shown again and again not a single hero trying to save him yet. At the same time Shigaraki gets worse and more violent the more the heroes try to put him down. HMMM. I wonder why that is? That’s because the story is deliberately setting this up, Shigaraki cannot be stopped by violence. Shigaraki can only be stopped by being saved. If heroes acted like heroes Shigaraki, would not even exist in the first place.
2.  Why do you think that Tomura seems to respect Aizawa?
Tumblr media
Shigaraki respects Aizawa because part of him still admires heroes. As I said before, the Tenko who wanted to become a hero never went away inside of Shigaraki, he just changed, because circumstances changed him. That’s one of the first questions his mother asks him in his subconscious, after all this time... Tenko, do you still want to be a hero?
Remember, Tenko wanted to be a hero even in a household that told him he couldn’t be a hero and then beat him for not being able to follow his father’s rules. One of Tenko’s primary reasons for fighting back is being told he can’t do something. Being told he can’t become a hero, because somebody, a power structure, society, says no.
This is a foiling point between Shigaraki and Dabi too. They are both constantly praising the heroes they fight against. They even both happen to give the same compliments to Aizawa.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not hard to believe that both Touya and Tenko grew up as hero hopefuls at some point. That they both had an idealized image of heroes in their mind. We don’t know what Touya’s backstory is, but as the son of Endeavor who was denounced as a failure because of his quirk it’s likely he was told just like Tenko that he couldn’t become a hero.
Shigaraki and Dabi are constantly praising the heroes for how cool they are when they act heroic. They still have this idea of what heroes should be in their mind. And look who the heroes they so often raise are. Aizawa, Hawks, it’s heroes who prioritize saving people above all else. Especially Aizawa, as Aizawa is someone who always moves without hesitation in order to protect children. Whereas, Tenko and Touya are children the heroes did not save.
Tumblr media
They praise Aizawa but at the same time they know deep down that heroes like Aizawa are never going to save people like them. Even the heroes who act mostly like the ideal of heroes they hold in their hearts, are ultimately disappointing. This goes back to what Twice said against Hawks.
Tumblr media
You call yourself a hero, but you’d never save a person like me.
Tumblr media
Dabi mocks Hawks for how heroic he acts, and then grows angry and disappointed when Hawks decides to kill someone. Something a hero would never do in his eyes. It probably doesn’t help that Dabi was someone most likely killed either directly or indirectly by Endeavor, a hero.
THE THING IS. The thing is here. Here is the thing. Who is savable and who is not, is not judged on whether people are good or bad or whether or not they want that redemption. Shigaraki, Twice, Dabi, Himiko they are all violent crimminals but we’ve also been shown they’re capable of good. Twice wants to protect his friends. Himiko is empathic and capable of tending to people’s feelings. Dabi and Shigaraki are both trying in their own way to reform hero society (and they are really the only characters taking an active look at even how one would go about reforming hero society).
Who is redeemable is just something society chooses based on its unfair standards. Endeavor was offered a chance at redemption before Shigaraki, Twice, Dabi or Himiko. The thing is, Endeavor was never even punished, he was never held accountable for his actions in any way the same way the villains are not because his actions were better or worse but because he has power and status in society.
People get saved based upon whether they fit the mould of society or not. The rejects will never be offered the same oppurtunities or chance at rehabilitations that the heroes get. It has absoluetly nothing to do with whether they’re actually redeemable, but whether they’re useful.
Which is why we see Aizawa’s hypocrisy regarding Shigaraki. So much emphasis is put on how Aizawa has to destroy Shigaraki, for the sake of someone like Eri.
Tumblr media
The things Aizawa thinks about Shigaraki, are the things Chisaki said to Eri almost ad verbatim. Aizawa who knows what a gentle and kind girl Eri is capable of being refuses to see any victimhood at all in Shigaraki.
Tumblr media
Because in Hero Society, victims are only victims if they are meek, and cry politely and beg to be helped. If they fight back. If they become violent when violence has been done to them, they lose all status as victims.
What Aizawa is doing is essentially putting two victims against each other. Eri needs to be protected at all costs because she’s good, Shigaraki needs to be put down at all costs because she’s bad. If Shigaraki had somehow been a more obedient, quiet, meek victim than he would still be salvagable but he’s not. Shigaraki isn’t a direct threat to Kurogiri / Shirakumo, he’s not even a direct threat to Eri. Aizawa pretending he has to put down one in order to protect the other is just Aizawa’s own faulty judgement.
Eri could have been a lesson to Aizawa to how kids held in captivity and manipulated all their lives by violence in order to be groomed into good little child soldiers act, but Aizawa completely ignores the connection between Shigaraki and Eri, or even Kurogiri / Shirakumo and Shigaraki. He sees two people taken in by villains and manipulated into becoming someone that is the opposite of who they originally were, and doesn’t draw the connection that AFO must have done that to Shigaraki too. He wants to sacrifice himself to protect children, but only the good ones ultimately.
Which is why Aizawa while acting like a hero most of the time is ultimately disappointing to both Shigaraki, and Dabi. No matter how good Aizawa’s intensions are he’s still a part of hero society, and reflects Hero Society’s ills and perpetuates them. Aizawa wants to be a hero who protects people, and children especially. However, Aizawa often ends up becoming a part of the violent suppression of villains.
Tumblr media
Because that is how Aizawa has been taught to be a hero. That is the standard Aizawa has always held himself too. Even when Aizawa wants to save people, he thinks it’s his job to kill villains.
Which is why Aizawa’s two primary motives contradict each other. He wants to live to protect his students, but he also wants to dedicate his every living effort to taking down Shigaraki in the most suicidal way possible. Aizawa cannot choose both, because one is living for violent revenge, and the other is acting like a real hero.
Aizawa is most like a hero when he takes his role as the protector of children seriously. He’s farthest away from the idea of a hero when he forgets that, and allows children to be brought to a battlefield, or thinks that the solution to all of this is taking down yet another abused child like Shigaraki.
Tumblr media
Which all ties back to my main point, Shigaraki and Dabi are characters who after all this time some small part of them wants to be saved. In this fight Shigaraki is the character with dreams, convictions. Shigaraki is still after all this time acting like a hero struggling to make his dream of a better world come true.
It’s Shigaraki who constnatly tries to open the lines of communciations between heroes and get them to understand his point of view. Shigaraki is at his literal lowest point, half insane from getting lit on fire over and over again STILL trying to get people to understand his point of view and sympathize with him.
Tumblr media
It’s the heroes who gave up on Shigaraki. It’s the heroes who decided Shigaraki cannot be saved. Not Shigaraki himself. Shigaraki wants heroes to exist, and some childish part of him wants heroes to save him, he just knows it’s never going to happen as long as society as a whole rejects both his victimhood and humanity.
Tumblr media
That’s why it’s on the heroes to live up to the promise that heroes save people. Shigaraki’s arc would not constantly call back to the fact that at any time, anyone could have saved him by simply reaching out a hand, if he wasn’t supposed to be saved.

Lost (3)
Todoroki x reader - lost part 3
(part 1)  (part 2)  (part 4)
** so sorry it took a while for this part to come out, I promise part 4 wont take as long, i will try to get it up asap. **
(slight mentions of sex & panic attack)
Having spent the last days of summer break with Dabi, you two had grown much closer. You felt comfortable with him, telling each other all about your lives, families, and pasts. However, there was still one secret you kept form him, your miscarriage. Today was a bit different from your usual schedule. You were heading back to the dorms at UA today to get all your stuff organized before school started. As you left abruptly, you doubted everything was still neat. Dabi had made the decision to tag along with you since it was mostly thanks to his encouragement, you felt so much stronger. Thankfully it looked like the coast was clear; no one had decided to come early and was at the dorms. You and Dabi began to carry your boxes up to your room. It wasn't very many, just some with clothes and decorations for your room. "How many boxes do you have doll? My arms are getting tired," Dabi complained, setting down another box near your bed. You let out a giggle, "I'm sure there's only one more." You told him as you were organizing your dorm room. Dabi grumbled and disappeared behind the door. You reached into one of the open boxes and pulled out a picture frame, the photo was of you and Shoto kissing under a cherry blossom tree from your first year of dating. The two of you had joined your classmates in attending a festival. You had worn a beautiful white and red kimono that matched Shoto's hair, remembering how he blushed when he first saw you made you tear up. You set the frame down next to you on the floor. Reaching into the box once more, this time, you pulled out a sonogram picture. It was your little baby before you found out they had no heartbeat. You starred down at the picture, your hands becoming shaky, for so long you had been trying to distract yourself from mourning the loss. Still, you couldn't ignore the pain in your chest every time you looked in the mirror. Tears flowed down your cheeks, letting out shaky breaths. Every moment of your isolated depressive months came back to you in a flash. The endless nights of isolated panic and anxiety, a feeling of shame still lingered. "Doll, are you alright?" Dabi's voice pulled you out of your trance. His eyes fell to the small black and white picture in your hands. You wiped the tears from your eyes, 'I'm alright." You were never good at lying, He could see right through your facade. Dabi set the last box down and walked towards you. You moved the picture in an attempt to hide the sonogram from him, but he was too quick. Dabi's eyes went wide as he looked down at the small photo. "Is this?" His voice was quiet, so calm. But there was evident pity and sorrow. You didn't speak a word, you couldn't. It was caught, like a pit in your throat. "Y/n." He wrapped his arms around your frame. His warmth comfort made you feel something you hadn't in so long, you felt safe. You cried into his shoulder for what felt like hours, Dabi caressed you, stroked your hair gently. Finally, you began to run out of tears and stopped crying. You were silent in his warm embrace, his touch felt so soft and warm. Dabi seemed to melt away all the sorrow that had frozen your heart, well almost all of it. Turning your head, your eyes met his own narrow turquoise eyes. They were soft, filled with emotion. His hand cradled the back of your head, "is this what Endeavour been blackmailing you with?" All you could do was give him a small nod. "Does Shoto know?" You shook your head, 'no.' He hugged you even tighter. Cradled in his arms with his back against the bed, his long legs bent so that you could sit on his thighs, your own legs around his waist. Wiping your tear-stained cheeks, your faces were so close. His hot breath tingling your lips as the gap began to get smaller and smaller. "You're so beautiful, please don't cry." He cooed stroking your hair gently, his breath sent shivers your spine. Your lips moved almost on their own as they grazed his. "Y/N?" You jumped in Dabi's arms, like a teenager getting caught with a boy in her room by her parents. You moved backward, but Dabi's hand quickly took hold of your own, pulling you back towards him. With a deep red blush, you looked at the doorway to find Midoriya standing there, a faint blush on his cheeks, but tears in his eyes. "Zuzu," You couldn't help but let out a smile. As you began to stand, Dabi almost protectively tightened his grip on your hand. He didn't wasn't to let go, truth be told he was quite upset your moment had been interrupted. You turned to him, assuring him it was all right, and he let go hesitantly. You practically jumped into the green-haired boy's arms. "Hey, Zu, I missed you." You giggle, wiping the boy's tears away, your arms hugged at his waist tightly, laying your head on his shoulder. Midoriya had his arms wrapped right around you, sobs of happiness fell from his lips as he burst with joy. How he was to see you, and how worried he was, how much he had missed you. You returned with your own kind words, explaining your time away was much needed. Midoriya had become your best friend during your time at UA. In fact, he was almost like a part of your family, like a brother. "Umm, Y/n, who is that?" Midoriya was pointing to Dani, who had stood up from the floor and now leaned against the door frame. He was towering above you and Izuku. 'This guy looks pretty scary.' Midoriya screeched in his own thoughts "Oh, Zu, meet Touya Todoroki." You smiled in between the two boys, "Touya, this is my best friend, Izuku Midoriya." "Touya Todoroki, but please call me Dabi, I'm Y/n's fiancé." Dabi's voice came out in an almost possessive cold tone. It caught both you and Midoriya off guard. You had never could Dabi act like this towards you. "Fiancé?" Midoriya stuttered out confused "Dabi! You can't just come out and say that everyone's going to think I'm a whore for being engaged to my ex-boyfriend's brother." You scolded the tall, dark-haired man. Your angered tone caught him off guard, but he retained his calm composure best he could. "I'm sorry, would you prefer, hi I'm Touya, but please call me Dabi, and Y/n and I are engaged because my father set us up on an arranged marriage." He chuckled amusingly, you shook your head. Poor Midoriya was so confused, his mouth damn near the floor. "No, I would prefer you not to tell anyone we are engaged." You poked his chest roughly, your glare at him sharply. Turning over to Midoriya you sighed heavily, 'looks like the cats out of the bag, at least it's only Midoriya.' "Zu, please do not tell anyone, I'm waiting until we graduate to even make it "official." A lot of things happened during the break-." "But, I don't understand, why?" he interrupted you, his fists were balled up at his sides. His face screaming of confusion, anger, and even regret. Midoriya had been struggling a lot since you left. He developed a deep resentment for Todoroki after what had happened, and he felt awful that he couldn't help you. For much of summer break, he imagined how lonely and heartbroken you must have felt, and now when you were finally back, everything seemed more of a mess. Dabi placer a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. "Your answer is actually quite simple. The devil works hard, but Endeavor works harder." Midoriya's gaze fell to you, his eyes softened and filled with worry. "You aren't doing this out of your own, will are you?" His voice came out shaky, but the anger couldn't be ignored. You trusted him, you trusted Midoriya with your own life, so you told him. " Endeavor is blackmailing me. After Shoto and I broke up, I spent the summer break at my grandmother's, and then he showed up. He-" "He's a jackass." Dabi scoffed Midoriya nodded in agreement. "What is he blackmailing you with? Maybe we can talk to him; it couldn't be that serious that you should throw your whole life away to marry someone," he turned to Dabi, who had a scowl on his face. "No offense." You looked down at your feet, "it...it's.." Dabi's arms wrapped around your shoulders, pulling you towards his chest. Your gaze never left the floor. Your hands reached up to cup your face, you felt hot tears once again fall from your e/c eyes. Taking a deep breath, you spoke, "months ago, before Todoroki and I broke up. He started becoming distant, at first I didn't want to pry." Your words were shaky despite your attempts to be coherent. Dabi pulled you even closer, you could hear his heartbeat in your ears. "Doll it's alright you don't have to-" "I blamed myself for him being distant, so I thought. Maybe if I had sex with him, it would make him love me again, make him stay. But I got pregnant." A gasp came from Midoriya. Your gaze refused to leave the ground, but you could feel his eyes on you. "I didn't find out until a while ago, but when I found out, the baby didn't have a heartbeat. All my stress and depression after what happened, I just-" You collapsed onto the ground, breaking down hysterically. Your words were incoherent as coughs and sobs escaped your lips every time you attempted to speak. Both boys were now embracing you, and although you appreciated the love, it felt like it was becoming claustrophobic. "Please, I can't breathe." You inhaled in an attempt to fill your lungs with oxygen. "Y/n, are you alright?" Midoriya asked "I- I don't. I can't breathe." "She is having a panic attack," Dabi lifted you up into his arms. "She's cold," "We have to get her to the hospital." Midoriya cried You were still having trouble breathing, gripping Dabi's shirt so tightly your knuckles were white. Everything around you was incredibly blurry, the whole room was spinning. "Don't pass out Y/n, please." Dabi's voice was so quiet. He stuttered a little, almost like he was trying not to cry. But you couldn't, your eyelids were so heavy. Your brain felt as though it was pounding against your skull. You began to fade in and out until darkness overcame you. . . A loud, beeping sound woke you up. Opening your eyes to take in your surroundings, you were in a hospital room with an IV in your arm and monitors. Midoriya and Dabi were slumped in the chairs next to the bed. You sat up slowly, taking a deep breath. There were footsteps outside the door, along with some familiar voices. Your heart began beating quickly. In walked in some of your closest classmates, even Bakugo was there, with a scowl on his face. You were thankful that it wasn't everyone who had come. Seeing everyone at once felt like a little too much to handle for one day, especially since Todoroki and Momo weren't there. Kirishima carried with him a teddy bear, Ochacco with ballons, and Iida a bouquet of flowers. "What are you guys doing here?" You were shocked, happy, but very shocked. Kaminari practically dove towards you and snuggled up at your sides like a kitten, his arms wrapped around your waist. "We came to see if you were alright, Midoriya texted you were back." Ochaco smiled, walking towards you, to give you a hug. "Thank you guys, I missed you all so much." "We are so glad you're back and safe, Y/n." Mina chirped "Are you alright, Y/n? We haven't seen you since-" Tokoyami asked "I am, I needed a break away from everything. But I guess I wasn't fully ready to deal with everything since I ended up in the hospital." You scratched the back of your neck. "Midoriya said you had a panic attack, and your blood pressure dropped," Iida informed you. "oh," You looked over to Dabi and Midoriya, who was now waking up. Midoriya rubbed his eye gently when he noticed everyone in the room he smiled. "You guys came." "We did. We wanted to make sure our little Y/n was alright," Kaminari said, finally letting go of you and walking over towards Kirishima and Mina. Dabi stood up from the seat, taking the opportunity to stretch. Dabi toward over most of your classmates. He placed his large hand on your head, "you scared me, idiot." You looked up at him with big doe eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm alright, though." "Umm Y/n, who's your friend?" Ochaco asked curiously "Oh right guys this is T-" "Dabi, you can call me Dabi. Pleased to meet you all, Y/n has spoken highly of all of you." Your classmates began introducing themselves to Dabi, one by one. Everything seemed to be so peaceful, everyone talking like how it was before everything. That was until your stomach began growling. Everyone seemed to turn to you, a blush crept onto your cheeks in embarrassment. "Hey, you hungry, Y/n?" Midoriya asked You nodded, "yeah, actually." Kaminari decided to perk up, "Come on, guys, our Y/n is hungry. Let's go on a mission to get some food!" He cheered, causing you and everyone else to laugh. "Hey, stop yelling, idiot. We are in a hospital," Bakugo yelled angrily at Kaminari. "Bakugo, you're not helping your case by yelling yourself." Iida pointed out "You guys go on, I'll stay here with Y/n," Dabi told them. "I'll stay too." Midoriya and Ochaco jumped in "You guys don't have to, I'll be fine. Go get food for yourselves as well, and bring me something good, like (favorite food)!" You perked up thinking yummy food. "Are you sure Y/n?" Midoriya asked. You sent gave him a nod and a smile, assuring him it was alright. Dabi planted a kiss onto your forehead, "be a safe doll, don't go passing out on me again." You blushed a deep red color. Everyone else in the room was shocked as well. "you got it." Your voice came out as more of a squeal. "We'll be right back, Y/n." Kirishima waved "Don't go anywhere." Joked Mina "See ya in a bit Doll." After everyone was gone, you finally let out a shriek of embarrassment, letting your head fall back onto the pillows. Dabi was gonna get an ear full when you two were alone. There was the sound of the door opening again. You thought it was probably of your classmates who had forgotten something; to be honest, you were quiet, hoping it was Dabi. You lifted your head up from the bed to look at who had walked in, only to have your world stop. Staring back at you were a pair of tear-filled heterochromatic eyes.

ᴍɪꜱꜱᴇᴅ ᴍᴇ? | ᴅᴀʙɪ/ᴛᴏᴜʏᴀ x ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ | ᴘᴀʀᴛ 3: ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟ
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Valentine’s Special | Part 6: TBA
(AN: Ngl, I'm really happy people are enjoying this... QuQ
BUT I hope everyone is prepared cause this fic will be filled with angst, and fluff.... and a possible lemon
So guess we'll hop into part 3, yeah?)
Tumblr media
[(F/n)'s POV]
A chat? Why would Dabi, from the League of Villains, want to chat with me? The intimidating tone behind it leaves me more concerned, too. While he hasn't done anything other then enter uninvited with our missing key (I need to get that out of his hands ASAP or change the locks if he refuses to give it up) he's still extremely dangerous; my biggest fear is him harming Kaoru, I'll fight him off as best I can if things go that far and make sure Kaoru gets out.
My eyes never stray from him even if his gaze alone makes me want to turn my head down to watch the floor instead and I bite my lip trying to also piece together an escape plan in my head. His fire is the biggest obstacle... Hopefully my barrier can stop it if it's as hot as people report.
"A chat, huh?... What about?" I ask carefully, my arm trying to shield Kaoru while I flip the nearby switch to turn the living room light on; despite the danger he won't stop trying to move next to me to get a better look at the villain. I don't know why, why did he come out of his room despite the danger? Why am I trembling while he looks curious about the stranger in our living room? And what did he mean by what he said a few minutes ago, Dabi is the one he... What?
"Well, it's a little complicated," he starts, tilting his head. "The question I gotta ask first is if you'll believe anything I say or not? Although I suppose when you lie yourself it's easier to catch other people's lies, right?" The way he says it is almost bitter and his eye show that same feeling, and I'm now both on edge and confused. What's he getting at, is he mistaking me for someone else??
"What? Wh-What are you talking about? Look, I don't know who you're looking for or what but-"
"I found who I've been looking for, I'm in the right place, I just wish she'd make things easy and realize why I'm here already," he interrupts, starting to take steps towards us. I jolt and hold out my hands, putting up a small force field around Kaoru and me causing the villain to stop in his tracks. He looks at the shield with narrowed orbs before mumbling something under his breath I can't hear.
"Look, I-I don't know why you're here or who you think I am but I'm going to ask that you please leave before things get out of hand! Please, as you can see I have a son, please don't do anything regrettable," I plead with a look of desperation. It may fall on deaf ears given his line of 'work' but I have to try. It isn't my first rodeo talking villains out of desperate situations, although Dabi, by his personality on the surface alone, might be a bit more of a challenge than the smaller, two bit baddies I've handled before. I can't read his face which makes it even more difficult; I can't tell if he's going to snap and attack or if he really is going to turn and leave. Staring at his face I feel an odd... familiarity, like I've seen the face before but I have no idea where or when. His cerulean eyes glide down to Kaoru who I try to block from his gaze but my son seems to have other plans and keeps trying to see past me. "Kaoru-"
       "Your son... Who's his dad?"
The question is out of nowhere, and I slowly turn back to him with a confused look.
"Why... Do you want to know?"
"Curiousity, let's say," he shrugs, although I feel like there's more to it than that. Furrowing my brows I'm reluctant to say; not like it would matter, even if I did choose to be quiet or lie about it. That familiarity feeling comes back, and I try to ignore it.
"He... Passed away, a few years ago, so he's not in the picture," I tell him after moments of silence. I look away saying this, my eyes landing on the picture shelves noticing he'd left the one of Touya up. "He's the boy in that picture you were looking at..." I mumble, lowering my hands and the force field disappearing. Dabi turns and looks back at the shelves; he walks over to them again and picks it up, and I start to consider the possibility he knew Touya. Why else would he ask about my son's dad? Although... I have this weird feeling telling me I'm wrong.
"Why do you want to know? And what do you really want?" I ask, Dabi still holding the picture while turning back to face us.
"Did he know before he died? Or did you plan to tell him?"
More questions about Touya, specifically to do with my son? What does he want? Why would this matter to him? I find it hard to respond with my throat tightening up, my fists clenched at my side and my head lowering. I bite my lip, the guilt building again. That guilt about not telling Touya before what happened. Even if it wouldn't have changed what happened to him I still regret it; I don't even know if he would've been happy about it, but remembering who he was I can't help but think he would have.
I take a deep breath and shake my head, admitting,"No... No, he had no idea. I was scared about telling him..."
"Why's that? If you two were so close you wound up knocked up it shouldn't have been that big a problem letting him know he's gonna be a dad," he almost sounds like he's mocking me, but he also sounds upset, maybe? It's... Hard to tell. But I can feel my emotions starting to take control of the situation.
Looking back up to meet his eyes this time I don't hesitate to ask,"Why do you care? Why do you want to know so much?? Please, tell me what you want!"
"You still haven't pieced it together? You really don't know why I'm asking?" He asks it with a sigh.
       "No, I don't, I-I don't know! That's why I-"
"I think I know," Kaoru suddenly speak up and in my stressed state I neglected to realize he'd stepped around me and was taking small steps over to Dabi who peered down at him, his face turning aloof again. My eyes widen and I stutter,"K-Kaoru, wait...!"
Standing in front of Dabi my son looks up at him before reaching for Touya's picture which the ravenette hands him. Kaoru holds it in both hands and stares at it before looking up at Dabi again, then back to the picture. I watch as Dabi steps back and kneels down to Kaoru's level... and let's Kaoru hold up the picture beside his face as well as carefully feel his black locks and part them. With the lights back on we both can see what looks like... Red roots under the black, and Kaoru pulls back with wide eyes. His face seems to light up while I'm slowly putting the pieces in order.
"... You're my dad," he breathes excitedly, a smile gracing his lips while Dabi's eyes soften. The man nods and I can see the corners of his lips twitch as he gives a small smile.
I'm rooted in place, a ringing in my ears staring at the man. Suddenly everything makes sense, yet also doesn't. Emotions flood through me and I feel floored by this revelation, especially when I immediately realize it's true. Dabi... Is Touya.
"N... No... No, Touya died 10 years ago, th-there's no way," I start, backing up. I'm starting to shake and my chest feels tight, especially when he looks at me and stands; those same blue eyes I used to see almost every day, that used to hold flickers of life but now... Remind me of Endeavor's. My bottom lip starts quivering as I shake my head and continue,"You aren't Touya, you c-can't be...!"
His face is hard to read and he starts approaching me.
"Why are you lying to yourself, (F/n)?" He asks, my eyes feeling the tears brimming but I fight them from rolling down my cheeks.
"I'm not! You aren't Touya! T-Touya would never become a villain, and he died...!"
"I faked my death, what other choice did I have?" His voice is picking up a bit his brows furrowed as he stands in front of my quivering form. "Things got out of hand and I saw a way out of that shithole. And I only became a villain because of him."
"Got out of hand? How? How could you let everyone who loved you believe you were dead, that you cremated yourself with your own fire?! Why didn't you just run away??" I exclaim, the tears starting to roll.
"I was desperate, you know exactly what I was going through with that bastard. I even tried to go to your house a few weeks after it happened but you were suddenly gone. Why did you hide the fact you were pregnant from me? I'm not the only one who was keeping secrets here," he snaps back, his voice raised but not yelling like me.
"I-I was going to tell you, I...! I was scared, I-I do remember what you were going through, we were kids, I was terrified because what if you decided to leave me o-or you got mad?! I'd only known a few days before you 'died', I was trying to get ready..." I start crying harder and I cover my eyes with my hands as the sobs wrack my body. "I-I'm sorry, Touya, I... I..." I can't find the words as I cry, all the regret and guilt I've built over the years finally coming out now that I've accepted that the boyfriend I thought was dead, my son's father, is standing right in front of me... As a villain.
Dabi doesn't say anything back, silence settling aside from my sobs. I stiffen feeling a large hand brushing through my (hair color) hair and pushing my head against a chest, my eyes opening to find my face pressed against Dabi's pecs. I'm shocked, but I don't push him away, instead gripping his white shirt and overcoat and burying my face in the clothing as I keep crying, his hand almost petting my hair. It feels weird, but at the same time nostalgic.
[X][X][X]
It takes some time but I finally calm down and I'm sitting on the couch with Touya... Dabi next to me and Kaoru on the floor watching us both. My eyes feel puffy and I've gone through so many tissues that pile up in the small garbage next to the couch. Dabi is watching me, leaning forward with his arms on his knees, and I struggle to look back at it, the risk of crying again hanging over my head. That, or yelling at him asking what the hell he was thinking. But I keep my nerves in check and I take a deep breath, sorting my thoughts.
"I'm sorry, that I wasn't there after what happened... My mom was worried for me, with the stress mixed with the pregnancy, so she moved us a few cities away..." I explain, sniffing and leaning back, finally looking at him. Now that I know who he is... I see Touya. I remember the burns he always used to have, all in the same spots a lot of the time as his permanent ones here, but even with these scars I'm not appalled or anything. I still think he's handsome, even if he's changed... I almost want to touch and feel them, but at the moment that might be awkward, plus he may not like it. I go a little pink realizing I'm just staring at him and quickly look away. "A-Anyways, it was never my intention to hide Kaoru from you, like I said I'd only found out a few days before... And I was trying to prepare myself..."
"You really think I would've dumped you after finding out you were pregnant?" He asks like I just said something dumb and I furrow my brows rubbing my neck.
"Well, I mean, I had that thought, yeah! I was 15, and your upbringing didn't exactly make it easy because..."
"... You thought I wouldn't want a kid after what I'd been put through with my dad or something?" I nod softly, still not looking his way. I can see him shaking his head and can imagine the expression he has, before he sighs,"You idiot."
I look at him surprised, ready to snap at him, but I stop when I see his eyes are softer, his face is still aloof but it feels less tense between us all of a sudden. He reaches with one hand and it looks like he's going to touch my face but he stops and pulls it back, turning his attention to Kaoru. I try to calm my heart, realizing it started speeding up the closer his hand got. Even if he is Touya... He's still a villain, and while my brain knows that my heart hasn't gotten the memo yet.
"So, Kaoru, I hope you're not disappointed," Dabi says, Kaoru surprised but shaking his head. He still I think is amazed that his dad is here; I know Kaoru wanted his dad, even if he tried to not talk or ask about him worried it would upset me.
He smiles and replies,"Not at all, I'm actually really happy... Uh..." I could hear 'dad' almost slip out of his mouth but he seems unsure if he can use it or not.
"Go ahead, you can say it," Dabi assures him, Kaoru's eyes lighting up. He nods and with slight hesitation says,"... Dad." This warms my heart but the smile that lifts on Dabi's lips, even if it's not very big, makes me blush. It's not a smirk, or a grin, it's a genuinely happy smile, and the scene alone has me looking away before I gush wishing I'd seen these sorts of situations for the last 10 years.
The two start to talk, Kaoru leading the conversation with questions like "How strong is your fire?", "Why'd you dye your hair black?", "Why'd you become a villain?" and I watch, torn on how I feel.
I'm so happy Kaoru can finally meet his dad, to see the excitement on his face and hear it in his voice it makes me so happy, not to mention Touya... Dabi looks content and answers the questions as best he can while keeping out sensitive parts. But Dabi is a villain, and not just a small time one, part of the League of Villains. Being a police officer this is a glaring fact, and I stare at my lap in thought. I'll need to figure things out, and soon.
Noticing the time I speak up while Kaoru is telling his dad about the manga he's been reading,"Alright boys, it's late, we should, um, probably get to bed."
Kaoru looks disappointed but nods, yawning even though he wants to stay up and talk to Dabi more. Before he goes to his room he asks, a look of worry now on his face,"A-Are you going to come back...?" Dabi looks down at him and nods, reaching a hand out and ruffling Kaoru's crimson locks.
"Don't worry, kid, I'll be back," he tells him, putting his hands in his pockets.
"... Promise?" Kaoru asks, and I have trouble looking at his face, guilt aching in my chest with the choices weighing on me. I watch Dabi stare at him for a few moments before he nods again, although this time he almost looks like he hesitates. Kaoru doesn't look fully convinced, but he doesn't try to push the matter, turning and heading to his room.
Once the door is shut Dabi faces me and I scratch the back of my head, giving a yawn myself. Looking at him I say,"I wanna make it clear... I'm not sure about all of this..."
"I can tell, you don't hide how uncomfortable you are with me," He teases, and I glare at him, although not in a serious way.
"I'm going to give it a few days, okay? I don't know if my feelings about what you do will change, or how I'll approach you being around Kaoru... But we'll see," I tell him, meeting his eyes.
"Still got that hero side in you, I see," he comments, smirking.
"Well when my son's father suddenly turns up and is a villain, a big one at that, my cop side kinda screams at me that this is a really bad idea, and that I should kick his ass for disappearing for so long," I say back, smirking too. His drops but he chuckles, shaking his head.
"You can try, dollface, we both know who'd win though. You forget how many times you would train with me and I'd always get the pin," he replies, my face going pink and I look away, mumbling,"Psh, only cause you cheated..."
We both snort and laugh a little, the old memories coming back and I look at him with a smile, Dabi returning it with a lazy grin. My cheeks feel a little hotter and I lower my head to hide the torn expression growing on my face. 'He's a villain, don't forget that...' I think, looking at the time and calming my heart before I look at him again.
"Since it's late do you want to stay the night? I... I think Kaoru would be really happy to wake up and find you stayed the night," I say, Dabi thinking about it before he shrugs. I go and grab him some extra blankets and a pillow, tell him where he can set his coat and boots, then setting up his makeshift bed on the couch I wait for him to climb under the blanket and lay down before I turn the light off. With a goodnight I head to my room, laying in bed for at least another hour with my thoughts buzzing.
Is this a good idea? Letting him come back despite what he is? Guess I'll find out.
(AN: Okay so I have my friend proofread a lot before I post and she says no, but I wanna ask you guys, is Dabi OOC at all? It's a fanfic and a reader insert so he's gonna be different, just wondering lol
Anywaaays, sorry if the chapter was like angsty or anything, I tried to end it on a happy note, but I'm gonna say we're just getting started with this fic. I don't know how long this will be, but this is only the beginning.
Hope you like it so far, let me know if you are? Part 4 will be coming in a few days, yay lol)

"I’m Sorry.” Dabi One-Shot
Tumblr media
Hello! This will be based off the Dabi and Shoto being related head cannon that the fandom brewed up over the last couple of months! This is also the first time I’ve written anything since 2016, so please don’t be harsh! lol.
Word Count: 2478!
(This is X Reader btw!)
Once Touya woke up, he felt the cold bed beside him. He chuckled, knowing y/n left before the maid, Suki, barged in to wake him up. The cool air hit his chest, his hand rubbing his chest to feel a cloth material on his hands, "shit," he muttered, taking the gloves off his hands. The gloves aren't ordinary gloves, they canceled out his flames when it's time to do.. you know.. the dirty. He didn't understand, he could control his quirk until he got too angry, or aroused. He hated that part of it, he tried to control it ever since he started to get active, but he's always had trouble doing so. He hated hurting you during intimate moments, so he had his friend make the gloves for him. He turned to see a note on your pillow, which made a smile appear on his face, you always left notes.
Dear Touya,
Good morning! I took your uniform out and hung it on the back of the door, and I checked over your English work, you're doing better. I'm so proud of you, and I love you. xoxo
From, Y/N.
Touya couldn't help but laugh, she's such a thoughtful person, he thought. At that moment, the door to his bedroom swung opened,
"WAKE UP! GO TO SCHOOL!"
The sound of a metal spoon hitting a metal pot echoed throughout his room, but stopped once she noticed he was wide awake, looking at her as if she lost her mind. "Oh, good morning. Breakfast is ready!" she smiled, shutting the door once again. Touya blinked a few times, is it really that hard to wake me up?
~~
To Y/N: good morning angel
To Y/N: I'll meet you at the train.
But once Touya got there, Y/N wasn't there. He had to admit that he was a bit worried, she was acting a little different the night before, but he thought nothing of it since she had a test the next day.
~~
To Y/N: Are you okay angel? You weren't in school today.
When she didn't reply, Touya knew he needed to go to her house. He quickly pushed his way on the train, getting dirty looks from oncoming passengers, but he didn't care. Something was wrong with Y/N.
Once Touya made it to your apartments, he buzzed your number. There was no answer.
"Y/N!"
"Mrs. L/N!" he screamed, but got no response from the family.
He started to buzz the next door neighbors bell, thankfully getting a response from them.
"Y-Yes?"
"Mrs. Midoriya, where's Y/N?"
It was silent for a few minutes, then her door opened. "Oh, Todoroki," she half smiled, her hand was behind her back, but Touya could see her hand on top of green hair, holding him back in the house. "Did they not.. tell you?" she said softly. Her voice changed from relaxed to sad, "They moved to America, first thing this morning."
"W-What?" he whispered, he knees giving in to his weight, he fell to the floor.
"She l-left me?"
~~
3 years later.
The fresh air hit you face as you got out exited the store, it would've been refreshing if you didn't get bad news from the owner. He quit his job, not too long after you left for America. The thought of what you did to him made your stomach flip, a sour taste coming to the back of your throat. I'm so sorry Touya. You thought as you made your way towards the Todoroki's house, your stomach was starting to flip again, hoping you wouldn't get anymore bad news.
The way to the Todoroki's home was filled with a lot of, "should I be doing this?" "Yes, I have to." "No, he wouldn't want to see me."
By the time you got out of your own head, you were already at the front door. Your hands got clammy, raising them to the door, you knocked three times. You nearly puked at the sight of the doorknob turning,  then opening. There stood a boy, his hair was half white and half red, a red scar over his eye. "um.. hello?" he said in more of a question,
"S-Shoto?" you could feel tears coming to your eyes, he's gotten so big. He's gotta be in high school now, right? You hugged him tightly, "Oh my god, Shoto, I've missed you so much." He hugged you back awkwardly,
"Who are you?"
That's when you realized you looked completely different. Especially with you wearing the American style clothing. You let go of him, taking a few steps back. "Oh. I'm sorry. My name is L/N, Y/N, I was your tutor a few years ago and-"
"Touya's girlfriend." he finished, looking at you with a bit of starstruck. "I should've known," he replied, looking at your wrist that had burn scars int eh shape of Touya's hands on them. Your face flushed, pulling your sleeves down to cover them.
"Y-Yeah. Where is he?" You whispered, suddenly feeling small. As if Shoto, and the whole world towered over you.
"You might want to come inside,"
You both sat at the table, Shoto set strawberry milk in front of you, "You still like this, right?" you nodded, grasping the milk in your hands.
"After you left.. Touya changed." he started out, "He locked himself in his room for days, our mother tried to get him to come out but he only screamed, using his quirk to get her out of the room. Then one day, he broke-down."
Shoto stood behind his mother, his hand lightly grasping her long shirt. "Mommy, is Touya sick?" he asked, watching her as she picked his lock, "Mommy are you supposed to do that?"
"Shoto, honey, please. Please go play with your brother and sister." She smiled at him, setting her hand on his head and ruffling his hair. Shoto nodded, running around the corner, but didn't go to his siblings, he watched her from a distance. His mother finally got into the room, slowly opening the door,
"Touya.. honey?" she said softly, "Please come eat.. I made your favorite."
"Leave me alone."
"Touya you haven't ate in a week. Can I bring it to you?"
"Leave me alone."
"T-Touya.."
"I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!"
A flame shot through the opened door, Shoto heard his mother scream, "Touya, stop! Please!" She screamed, the horror filled her voice. Soon, Fuyumi ran into the room, grabbing their mother and dragging her out of the room.
"Shoto, get out the house!" She yelled, but he didn't listen. He stood there in shock, watching as the house slowly started catching fire. When she seen that he wasn't listening, she screamed, "Natsuo!" She dragged her mother towards Shoto, once she got close enough she looked Shoto in the eyes. "Get out the fucking house you brat!"
The horror of the situation hit him, his eyes started to water as he ran towards the front door, a few minutes later, Natsuo and Fuyumi drug their mother out of the burning house. Touya was right behind them, the flames engulfing his body as he let out a blood curdling scream. He dropped to his knees,
"WHY?!" then he passed out. His body falling on the cement, the flames still burning his chest.
His mother sat up from the ground, using her quirk to put her son out, but wasn't able to save the house. Shoto looked at her, her hair was fringed from the fire, but it looked like he almost completely missed her. The sound of sirens filled the once empty air, pro heros started to show up on the scene and aid everyone until the ambulance got there.
Then, Endeavor showed up. The look of anger in his eyes as he watched his home burn to the ground. Shoto couldn't stop crying as he watched his father walk up to Touya.
-
"I-I don't know what happened to Touya after that.." Shoto whispered, "He was admitted into the hospital, he was in intensive care for so long, but one day he just disappeared. Our father didn't even send out a search party." He gripped the milk a little too tightly, sending it out of the straw and all over his white shirt.
"Shit," he mumbled, getting up to get a rag. "Um, Fuyumi should be here soon if you want to talk to her, she was the only one allowed to visit him, if you want to talk to her."
"C-Can you just give her my number?" you whispered, Shoto nodded.
By the time you got to your new apartment, it was dark out. You wrapped your sweater around yourself tighter, the recent events of Villains getting your nerves up, you did have a quirk, but it wasn't anything worth wile, You could touch someone and see all their memories, and even take parts of their personalities, pain, and fears. It was actually quite dangerous, for yourself, so you never used it. But it could also be dangerous for other, for you could bring their deep fears out and terrorize them. You hated your quirk. It was the definition of evil.
There was an alley up ahead, the sound of men talking made your skin crawl. Men in Japan were douche-bags, especially the older men.  You kept your head up high, you refuse to show fear towards any man hiding in alleys for defenseless victims.
But once you got to the front of the alley, you couldn't help but turn your hear once you seen a blue flame brighten up the dark alley. You could see a tall man, his hair was black he wore a long black jacket that barely touched the ground. In front of him was a group of men, fear in their eyes as they looked at him. You felt your heart skip a beat, your throat went dry.
"T-Touya?" you nearly croaked out.
The man froze, slowly turning his head to face you. A gasp left your lips as you seen scars cover half of his face, staples in his face.
"Y/N" he whispered, the flame disappearing all together. The men that were behind him took off running, pushing past him and scattering once they got out the alley.
"W-What happened to you?" you whispered, stupidly. You already knew the answer. It was your fault, all your fault.
Touya stood frozen in place, watching you as you slowly walked towards him, "I'm so sorry Touya," you whispered, embracing him tightly. It took him what felt like forever to hug you back, arms holding onto you tightly, as if he never wanted to let you go.
"W-Why.." he whispered, his face tucked its way into your neck, "Why did you leave?"
"it would be easier to show you then to tell you,"
Touya didn't budge at the comment though, "C-can we wait a moment?" he asked softly, "I just want to hold you."
"Of course," you replied, tears started to slip from your eyes as you felt his pain emerge your body. You couldn't help but use your quirk on him, you never wanted to hurt him. You wanted to save him, any way you could.
"Stop." Touya muttered, "Don't hurt yourself," he knew all about your quirk, knowing you could take emotions away. "I don't hurt anymore now that you're here,"
"I'm so sorry."
~~
"Are you thirsty? The store down the street has your favorite," Touya, I mean, Dabi, explained. After he left the hospital, he decided not to go by Touya anymore. You knew it probably brought back unwanted memories, which was understandable.
"Yeah, I am thirsty," you replied, remembering how you only had the strawberry milk that Shoto gave you. "Have you visited your family?" You asked, the thought of seeing Shoto bringing the question up. Dabi tensed, his grip on his hand tightening slightly around yours, "No. I don't deserve them." he replied, casually, but you could feel the pain in him.
"Shoto misses you Touya," you whispered, "He's worried about you, they all are."
"Can we stop talking about this? Please?" he looked at you, tears brimming his eyes. "I've been waiting to see you ever since I woke up that morning you left, without even telling me. You didn't leave an explanation or anything. Just please, Y/N, let's just focus on us."
You nodded slowly, not realizing how selfish you were being. "Well, do you want to come to my apartment after this?" you asked him, "My mom is there, she's making dinner."
"How is she doing?" he asked, raising his eyebrow.
"She's doing good, she's retired now and helping me out."
"With what?"
You didn't answer, the store light shown on your face, "I'm so thirsty!" you ignored his question, running into the store you went to find the drinks. It took you no time to find your favorite drink, mango soda, as well as Dabi's, strawberry milk just like Shoto. He found you looking at the snacks, chuckling, "Are you hungry?" he asked, "Get whatever you like, I'll pay."
Once you were done with the store, you both made your way to your apartment. You stopped him once you got to the front door,
"Dabi.. Please don't be mad at me." You looked at him with a serious expression, but the only thing you were feeling was fear. "This is going to be a lot to take in, so I understand if you don't want to say.. but please be nice."
Dabi raised his eyebrow, "What are you talking about?" You smiled at him, getting the key to the house and unlocking the door.
"It might be a little messy, so please ignore it."
"You never were very organized,"
"ha. ha." you gave him a playful glare, slowly opening the door. "I'm home!" you said loudly, entering the home and closing the door once Dabi was fully in. The sound of feet patting against the tile floor, you looked at Dabi as he looked at you. The red headed child ran around the corner, not thinking twice as he ran up to you, wrapping his arms around your legs.
"mama!" he yelled, trying to climb his way up and into your arms. You scooped him up, you looked at Dabi who's eyes were wide.
"Dabi.. this is Hisao; Hisao Todoroki."
Dabi didn't say anything, he engulfed both of you in the tightest hug he could, without suffocating you both. "This.. he is why you.. why?"
"Dabi you were about to graduate.. I didn't want him to stop you from becoming something great. It was selfish of me to leave.. I know but-"
"It's okay. I forgive you." he muttered, kissing your forehead.

Worth It
I come bearing a messy one-shot, because I’m kinda ill and I can’t really keep track of all the plot strands, let alone the overall mood. Childhood friends!AU. Kind of.
ShigaDabi Week Day 4: Child
Word count: 1650
–––
There are three-and-a-half ways to sneak out of his family house unnoticed.
“And-a-half”, because one of the ways is out of Shouto’s window, so technically someone does notice, but Shouto is a toddler and as such doesn’t count. A damn lucky toddler too – having his bedroom on the first floor and whatnot.
There are only two ways to get back in (well, one-and-a-half going by previous standards) because Touya can’t jump high enough to get a grip on the tree branches, but he thinks sneaking out at nights is worth the risk. Fuyumi, chastising him mornings after (listen, she doesn’t notice, but she sees the bags under his eyes), tells him that it isn’t, really. Fuyumi hasn’t met Tenko.
Tenko is a year younger than Touya. He has blue hair (light blue, he says, but they meet on barely-lit streets in the middle of the night, so it looks more grey) and red eyes. Touya doesn’t know what his quirk is because Tenko refuses to tell him, but he knows that the boy doesn’t shake hands. He doesn’t shake hands, or do high fives, or even pick up sticks or stones from the pavement without a good deal of hesitation, so Touya assumes it has something to do with touches.
(He learns that he assumes correctly, but he learns it later. So much later.)
They meet the second time Touya finds the courage to sneak out. Back then he is almost convinced that Fuyu is right, it isn’t worth the risk, because if his father catches him–, but then he wanders around the corner and finds a boy sitting on the cobalt stones of the pavement.
“Hi,” he says.
The boy bolts down the alley.
If one good thing came out of his father’s training sessions, it’s that Touya can outrun some adults, let alone kids his age who look like they are barely standing. He catches up to the boy and grabs him by the shoulder, and the boy falls down, flailing his arms around, and hisses loudly as he lands on his elbows instead of his palms.
“Are you okay?” Touya asks, offering him a hand. The boy scrambled to his feet without taking it.
“Who are you?” he asks. His eyes look brown (they’re red, Touya learns later), and his gaze is piercing. Touya finds himself shivering, and it’s not from the cold.
“My name is Touya,” he says. “I live nearby. And you?”
It’s a wonder, he thinks later, that somehow he manages to get an introduction in response. Shimura Tenko – that’s what the boy’s called, Tenko, and he lives nearby too, no, not with his family, what’s it matter to you?! – isn’t exactly the friendliest person out there. He doesn’t shake hands or do high fives or talk about himself. His hands are hidden in his pockets more often than not, unless he scratches at his neck or raises them, as if to shield himself, when Touya moves too sharply (a familiar reflex). He isn’t friendly and he isn’t loud like kids their age are, like Natsuo is, like Touya is too, but he is fun to be around. Well, maybe not always fun, but...
Intriguing, Touya thinks. That’s the word.
So he keeps sneaking out. Shouto grows, so the three-and-a-half ways turn into three because the kid will babble to their mother if he notices, but the tree branches are still right outside Touya’s window, and nobody guards the back door. He keeps sneaking out and keeps meeting Tenko in dimly lit alleyways or even cheap twenty-four-hour cafés by petrol stations, and he buys them hot chocolate because Tenko doesn’t carry money. Touya doesn’t know if he has much – he never does stop wearing the same three shirts.
Tenko doesn’t tell him when his birthday is, so Touya picks an arbitrary day in the middle of July when he is not too exhausted or hurt and buys a huge cake and some decent clothes. They finish the cake, the two of them, and next day Touya’s stomach hurts so the training is worse, but somehow, he thinks when Fuyu treats the burns on his left arm and hides her eyes, it’s completely worth it. Next time he sees Tenko, the boy is wearing a T-Shirt with a funky print, and they both don’t stop laughing at it for the entire night.
The thing is, sneaking out is worth it. Tenko is worth it, because seeing him smile, chapped lips and all, is somehow better than a night’s sleep. So is talking. So is hearing him rant about the flaws of the hero society (he sounds way older than eleven when he does, too articulated, too passionate) or about video games (and then he does sound eleven. Touya doesn’t know which is better). Sneaking out is worth it, totally.
Touya isn’t quite sure whether it’s worth it to sneak back in.
When he is five, or six, or eight, it’s... okay. It’s not awful, back home. His father goes hard on him, but Touya is used to it. He can handle the burns and the bruises. But then Shouto turns four, and his quirk is something out of the ordinary, something Enji has been trying to orchestrate every time he had another child – another little project to work on – and suddenly Touya has to deal with the fact that Shouto is getting hurt too. He can’t stop their father – never could, not enough firepower, not enough training – so he’s left to watch. Left to witness how Endeavor the hero comes home after a long day at work and drops his facade and hurts his youngest son with a feeble excuse of making him stronger.
Touya doesn’t want to... see it.
Perhaps he’s selfish.
Perhaps he’s weak.
Perhaps he’s dramatic.
He’s twelve, for god’s sake, of course he is dramatic and selfish and weak, and he makes his plans and schemes in the darkness of his bedroom instead of sneaking out, and he sees Tenko maybe once a week now, maybe once in two.
Tenko is angry.
Touya thinks he has the right to be.
Touya also thinks that if he wants to run, he needs to run far.
He buys some black hair dye. He doesn’t buy contact lenses because they are too much of a bother and because he wants his father to recognise whose eyes he is looking into when Touya comes back for vengeance. He finds an abandoned house on the other side of town, and where his father keeps his cash.
One night he sneaks out – out of Shouto’s window again, because again, he’s dramatic, he’s twelve and he half wants to be stopped – and he doesn’t sneak back in.
He doesn’t say goodbye to mother, or Natsuo, or even Fuyu. He hugs Shouto before the boy goes to bed, careful not to hurt him, and promises he’ll see him again. Shouto nods and says, “Tomorrow?”, and Touya looks away.
He doesn’t say goodbye to Tenko. Forces himself to run right past the alleyway where they would meet lest he gets noticed.
He doesn’t say goodbye, because Tenko knows Touya.
Touya wants Touya to disappear.
He dyes his hair black over a broken sink that night and makes a mess out of his palms and clothes. He tries to wipe the black from under his eye and only smudges it more.
He stares at the smudge for a long, long time.
Then presses his fingertips to it and lets it burn.
Cremation, he thinks.
Dabi.
He can make that work.
***
Burning skin is easy, it turns out. Holding it together – not so much.
He finds some staples.
He finds a job, gets fired, finds another dozen.
He grows. He teaches himself how to control his quirk better, how to make the flames hotter and how to leave fewer burns across his fingertips every time he plays with the flames (not that it is a priority).
He grows. He gets himself a few acquaintances, then leaves them behind. He steals a bike, once, then decides that petty crimes aren’t really his style.
Now the Hero Killer...
He doesn’t want to have anything to do with information brokers or blood-sucking blonde gremlins with less mental stability than he has.
He comes along anyway because he thinks he should, if only to make sure Toga doesn’t get herself murdered, and to see whether the League of Villains lives up to its reputation. To see whether it can help with – hell, revenge. Noble causes sound good, but he’s not really after those.
He comes along, and then freezes in the doorway and stares at the League’s boss.
His name is Shigaraki Tomura, for god’s sake. It’s not even that creative.
“Hey there”, he drawls, when Tenko – like hell Dabi’s calling him Shigaraki – looks up. “Long time no see.”
In retrospect, he doesn’t expect to be recognised. He’s passed Natsuo on the street before, walked right past him, heart hammering in a panicked rhythm, and hasn’t gotten a second glance.
He and Natsuo grew up together. He and Tenko saw each other under electric light three times.
Tenko blinks. Then sighs and gets up.
“Come in, then,” he says, and his voice is blank, carefully so, but not carefully enough. “Wanna tell me what the hell you have done to your face, Touya?”
“It’s Dabi now, Tenko,” Dabi says and sticks his hand out for a handshake. Others stare – Toga, and Giran, and the misty cloud of smoke at the bar – but he can’t bring himself to care.
Not when Tenko takes his hand, his pinky hovering carefully above Dabi’s skin.
Not when he offers a wry smile, chapped lips and unfamiliar scars and all, and nods sharply.
“It’s Tomura now, Dabi,” he says.
They take a while to let go.
