I'm very glad someone adopted Tom Paris and Captain Janeway's salamander children from Emmy-award winning Star Trek Voyager episode Threshold, it wasn't fair to leave them on that planet

Listen….. You’re talking about threshold (the Emmy award winning episode) we all know about threshold. We celebrate Threshold day.And I understand where you’re coming from, but if we judge each trek from it’s most insane episode we would never like any of them.
But Donnie is a turtle-man who likes to make fast vehicles. He wouldn’t find an issue w Tom Paris going so fast in a space ship that he turns into a lizard, cmon…. He’s just a silly little guy who likes sci fi!
Also his favorite character is B’Elanna Torres
#this is not serious don’t worry#just an excuse to talk about Donnie’s love of voyager (which is MY favorite trek)

Thank you, Star Trek: Prodigy for giving me a reason to explain the Emmy-award-winning Voyager episode “Threshold” to my 6yo Spawn, whose reaction, appropriately, was an incredulous “What the friggin heck?!”
#star trek#prodigy#voyager#i love how this show gives me all the excuses i need to nerd out with her#and that she lets me <3#threshold

(Made this forever ago because I couldn't stop thinking about it when reading 18th Brumaire of Louis Napoleon, but unfortunately none of my friends got it. But if there's anyone else in the venn diagram of 19th century French history and star trek voyager's emmy award winning episode "threshold" they're probably on tumblr.)

I'm late to threshold day, I didn't see it on my dash until almost 2 days after wtf. Had no idea this was a thing. How long has this been a thing? I've been talking about that Emmy award winning episode of voyager for YEARS and I'm only just now finding out there is an entire tumblr holiday for it. I've been on this hellsite for YEARS how did I miss that??

Tell me more about the salamander end goal evolution in star trek, hapo
there is an annual celebration commemorating the airing of this (emmy award winning, i kid you not) episode of Voyager (Threshold Day, January 29 1996) which I myself only recently watched for the first time. I'd seen enough #threshold day posting on tumblr to scream "oh god, is it THE EPISODE?" when i saw the "Threshold" title card.
its exactly what it says. go too fast and you rapidly evolve into salamanders and if two salamanders love each other very much, well, we will just never speak of it again
if you don't want to subject yourself to the entire episode, there's this very clever rendition of Voyager in the style of Star Trek: The Animated Series that gets it across in about 5 minutes.
