Los umpires criollos, aunque son pocos, también han dado de que hablar por sus buenas actuaciones a la hora de tomar decisiones en los partidos de Grandes Ligas, destacando principalmente a Manuel González primer oficial nativo de Venezuela en debutar en las Mayores. En esta oportunidad otro nombre se suma a los umpires nacidos en el país que lograrán debutar en el mejor beisbol del mundo. Se trata de Emil Jiménez, quien se convertirá en el sexto criollo que impartirá la ley en el "Big Show", así lo dio a conocer la página oficial de Venezuela Umpire Camp. Jiménez cuenta con una amplia experiencia en las Ligas Menores y ya tenía varias campañas como árbitro en la Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional Venezolano.
