This is the beginning of Emerald Embers, the main story from my Tales of Arcadia au series Daylight’s Redemption! It’s been in the making for a long time, so I’m really happy to finally have an opening scene!

Merlin Ambrosius paced in his study. Even though he’d been awake for a few hours, the damn vision was still at the forefront of his mind. Camelot actually being quiet for once wasn’t helping. The silence of night was only interrupted by the noises he was making. His breathing. His cape dragging on the floor. His boots softly thudding against the stone. It was maddening. After he’d woken, he had tried to work on the Amulet, but he couldn’t focus. So he paced. He’d seen it again. This was the eighth time now. That wasn’t worrying in the slightest. The main details never changed, at least. It showed Gwen dying. She fell into a stalkling’s nest. It… defended itself. Arthur started a massacre against the magical world because of his grief. He could only make a guess, but it seemed to happen about nineteen years from now. Arthur and Gwen looked to be in their forties, but Morgana still seemed to be in her thirties. She might’ve become immortal at some point. It never went far enough to show all the consequences before it ended, but he could very well imagine them.

Ya know I see a lot of fics where Alicents eyes are green, yet both her book art and her actresses have brown eyes..? Why is that like even if the green eyes stand for book accuracy she never had green eyes??? So why do writers describe her as emerald eyed where did that come from??!

i listen to the betweenlands ost now and then whenever i need to calm down from an anxiety/panic attack or just general major stress, and something i've noticed (and find really charming) is that most of the ambient tracks tend to have two distinct sections:

spooky but calm ambient synth that sounds distinctly like something right out of a survival horror game, probably silent hill specifically

the most heartbreakingly beautiful piano/harp/woodwind/steel drum/synth melody you've ever heard in your life
