Taos Hair <3

I know a lot of people really like to complain about Taos hair in the TV adaptation, but I honestly kinda love it. Not only because of the theory, which says him growing out his hair was a stand against the dresscode at Truham in support of Elle, but it also looks way cuter like this than it does in the comics.

TV: Heartstopper (2022)

Era obvio, iba a suceder. Tan exitosa fue serie de novelas gráficas de Alice Oseman entre los adolescentes que Netflix encargó su traspaso con actores de carne y hueso; y tan celebrado fue ese proyecto que ya se anunciaron dos nuevas temporadas, ya en preproducción. El resultado: una historia sencilla y entrañable desarrollada en ocho capítulos de aproximadamente media hora.

La clave de la serie reside en la autenticidad de los personajes (Oseman se ocupa también del guión), comenzando, desde luego por esos dos chicos que comienzan como extraños, uno (Charlie Springs, interpretado por Joe Locke), antes abiertamente gay y ahora de nuevo en una suerte de closet, y el otro (Nick Nelson, en la piel de Kit Connor), rugbier escolar que hasta la llegada de Charlie se consideraba completamente heterosexual. La relación entre ambos, además de consolidarse y evolucionar hacia un territorio que sobrepasa el de la amistad, sortea aliados y detractores: Ben Hope (Sebastian Croft), un molesto ex de Charlie que nunca dejó de buscarlo cuando tenía ganas de algún beso furtivo; Tao Xu (William Gao), el mejor amigo de Charlie a quien le gustaría formalizar con Elle (Yasmin Finney), que debió emigrar de su colegio masculino a uno femenino debido al constante acoso que padeció debido a su condición de transexual; Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) y Tara (Corina Brown), amiga de Nick que también se creyó heterosexual hasta que los besos con Darcy se convirtieron en gestos de noviazgo. Y eso que no mencionamos al despreciable bully: Harry Greene (Cormac Hyde-Corrin), miembro del grupo de amigos y compañeros de rugby de Nick que disfruta manifestando su maledicencia hacia Tao y Charlie.

Y, entre tanto adolescente suelto (algunos actores comparten rasgos con sus personajes: Locke ya ha manifestado abiertamente su homosexualidad y Finney su transexualidad), asoman dos verdaderas estrellas de la escena británica. Una de ellas, interpretando a Sarah, la comprensiva progenitora de Nick; es la ganadora del Oscar (y otros reconocimientos no menos importantes) Olivia Colman, a quien ya le tocó ser la madre de un adolescente gay en la memorable serie “Beautiful People” (2008-09); el otro es Stephen Fry cuya presencia no se ve, pero sí se escucha: es la voz del deliciosamente sarcástico director Barnes.
