Does your OC struggle with any addictions or compulsions? If so then how does this affect them?

Phoebe has a compulsion to sometimes steal food to hide away just in case she were left without any. Years of being homeless, poor and treated inhumanely left the solid impression on her mind to always have food hidden somewhere. Whether it be an apple she swiped from the market or leftover bread from her dinner at a tavern, it will make its way into her pockets just in case.

She knows its irritational; she can afford her own food now and will often times give food away to those in need that she has taken instead. While it doesn’t directly hurt anyone, Phoebe is bothered that its a constant fear that she doesn’t know how to fix.

👻 …someone my muse considers a best friend.

This was also asked by @allycryz and @lemureshrouded!! Thank you both!! 😘

Yume has so many good friends that it’s hard for her to decide who would be a “best friend”, but someone that Yume has a very strong bond with and who she would consider one of her closest friends is Alphinaud.

After the bloody banquet, Yume and Alphinaud had many long days and nights in Camp Dragonhead, in Ishgard, and on their trip to see Hraesvelgr that they just got to talking about many things: their childhoods, the books they like to read, their reflections on all that had happened with the Scions, and so on. They have a close bond and now they are almost like siblings. Yume and Alisaie are very close as well, with a similar sibling type of relationship, but Yume and Alphinaud have been through a lot together and been friends longer.

27. What causes them to feel dread?

Failure.

From childhood she has been raised a perfectionist, and as scatter minded she becomes while doing research, not being able to do something she put into her mind causes her a dread. A disapproving mother kind of adds to it too. Each patient she let down only fueled this, thus creating her life goals.

She is aware life and death is a balance, and the cycle of life has to continue... Doesn't make it any lighter for her caring heart.

One: Outside Layer

[Hair Style & Colour:] “Short Undercut. My hair is light gray.” He pulls at what little hair peeks out from beneath his bandana.

[Eye Color:] “Hazel and my limbral rings are a pale green”

[Height:] “6 fulms 7 ilms last I checked”

[Style:] “Anything lightweight, comfortable and practical. Essential qualities for a traveler.”

[Best Physical Feature:] “A lot of people seem to like the eyes I suppose...or maybe it’s the height.”

Two: Inner Layer

[Fears:] “Dying when I’m still needed.”

[Guilty Pleasure:] “No need to feel guilty about anything I take pleasure in. I’ve earned it.”

[Biggest Pet Peeve:] “Don’t half-ass things. If you’re going to try something give it your all or you’re just wasting time.”

[Ambition for the Future:] “Living to retire comfortably with my boyfriend after having left the realm better than we found it.”

[First Thought When Waking Up:] “My schedule I suppose. What workout to do, what meal to eat for breakfast, what to tinker with later if time permits...normally I’d consider meditating but...crafting and maintenance have become my meditation these days”

[What You Think About the Most:] “Depends. In the field? I’m always considering how best to move forward towards our goals. Can’t get a job done right if you only wait and react. On my free days though? Xavier, checking supplies or tinkering. In that order.”

[What You Think About Before Bed:] “I just do a quick rundown on what I need to be doing the next day. Who needs what and all that. So more scheduling.”

[Your Best Quality Is:] “I’d say...empathy. I’ve seen a lot and I don’t mean that as some tasteless brag. I mean after years of running and fighting and...all of this. He says motioning to the circumstances and choices that led him here. I’m glad I can still understand others even if they are not my own or if they are my enemy. Even as I strike them down...hmm a little dark huh? How about determination?”

[To be Loved or to be Respected?] “Respect. To be loved by the people in totality is unnecessary and perhaps a bit daunting. Respect is something that we all need though.”

[Cats or Dogs?] “Sorry friend, but my answer is both and that will not change. I will say that my childhood guardian kept a cat. Grew up big too.” There is an air of loving nostalgia on his words.

[Lie?]  “I omit the truth when I need to.”

[Believe in Yourself?] “Always.”

[Believe in Love?]  “I am in love.”

[Want Someone?] “I already have him.” His replies come quick and sure.

[Been on Stage?] “Briefly. Not for me.”

[Done Drugs?] “No. I may not keep to my meditations like I used to but I still abstain from drugs and the like.”

[Changed Yourself to Fit In Somewhere?] “Yes. As I imagine all foreigners did to some degree when making a home here. But I am who I am now.”

Seven: Favorite

[Favorite Color:] “Used to be orange but blue is really growing on me. I assume my new attire gave that away though.” He motions to his outfit with a smile and a flourish of the hand.

[Favorite Food:] “Nomad Pies still. Crunchy, savory and easy to eat while traveling.”

[Favorite Game:] “I...don’t know. Been a while since I played anything. Hm..”

Eight: Age

[When Your Next Birthday Will Be:] “1st Sun of the 3rd Umbral Moon. Still a fair while before it rolls around again.”

[How Old Will You Be?] “I should be (Mid-Late twenties post Shadowbringers. Don’t like to commit due to the weird timeline stuff)

[Age You Lost Your Virginity:] “Hm. Don’t feel like talking about my sex life today. Try again some other time.”

[Does Age Matter?] “It helps in a lot of cases but experience is more important than raw age.”

Nine: In a partner

[Best Personality:] “Intelligent, passionate, good natured. Those draw me in but the little things, like how he accidentally thinks out loud or that hidden playfulness one wouldn’t expect from a master of the arcane and accomplished author.”

[Best Eye Colour:]  “Can’t say it really comes up.”

[Best Hair Colour:] “One they like I suppose.”

[Best Thing to do With a Partner:] “Chat hours away about each other’s passions. Shared or not. Something about seeing him light up and just talk and smile uncontrollably truly and deeply makes me happy.”

WIP Tag Game

I'll preface this with...I'm a 'pantser' - I don't tend to have WIPs, because when inspiration strikes, I sit down and write... there is rarely any "I'll come back to this", because I won't be in that same flow-state later! I can't come back to it - my mindset will be different. It's like snapshotting my inspiration, lol. (Same reason I'm not a fan of RP that takes days to do.) There are, however, the inspirational blurbs I 'chew on' mentally until it hits the right spot, however - often just one sentence that I muse on while doing other things, until the idea fully forms! Make a new post and post your latest line from your WIP & tag as many people as there are words.

3. Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?

Now this is an interesting question indeed, and it’s certainly a complicated situation, so let me break it down.

For those not aware, when Yume met G’raha during the investigation of the Crystal Tower, Yume was already in a relationship with Cid, so G’raha and Yume developing feelings for each other would be certain to be frowned upon by pretty much everyone. They both never confessed to each other back then, and Yume never said a word to anyone for a long time, no one knew anything on her part until much later.

G’raha though, he actually talked to Krile about it, and she gave him advice, telling him that even if Yume rejects him, he should follow his heart, but unfortunately the events of the CT storyline played out, and he ended locking himself away in the tower, so nothing ever happened between them… at least back then.

Later on however, the Scions that Yume grew close to, specifically Tataru, Alphinaud, and Alisaie, started realizing that Yume would bring up a man named G’raha Tia every now and then, and she always talked about him as if he was a long lost lover, “the one who got away” so to speak. When Yume became engaged to Cid, they all had a chat with Yume, asking her if this would really make her happy. Krile also came to Yume and had a long talk with her, so Yume naturally started to doubt whether she really should marry Cid.

The events of ShB happen, and Yume does break up with Cid and she and G’raha finally get together, and the Scions are very happy for them both. It is the Ironworks crew though that are really upset about the break up, as they are left to help Cid pick up the pieces of his broken heart, so they are the ones that are not to happy to see their friend and boss so upset.

8. How do they feel about the fame/infamy that comes with being a Warrior of Light/Darkness?

So many good questions (°▽°) also disclaimer, there are two WoL’s in the canon I have with my friends so that will be mentioned:3

At first, Kien felt unsure about it. He never expected to be hailed as anything special when he first set off to find out why he had the echo and so when he and his friend Tokki were first named the Warriors of Light, Kien felt as if he was expected to be this strong stoic hero when he was still awkwardly trying to figure things out himself. He’d often feel pressured to live up to expectations and would constantly doubt himself or even feel unworthy of the title especially when he saw how easily Tokki stepped into leadership as a Warrior of Light or when bad things happened because he was a Warrior of Light.

Over time however, he learned that he didn’t have to live up to any expectations and would just bring himself to focus on what he enjoyed—helping people and getting to see new places—so even though he was constantly struggling with his inner self doubt about being a Warrior of Light, he never let the fame get to his head and just carried on as he usually did. It was a slow process to overcome and sometimes certain situations would bring back old feelings of doubt but he did his best to focus on the good around him from what he could do rather than focusing on living up to an invisible standard.

Ironically enough, he felt more confident as a Warrior of Darkness, mainly because that was when he finally pushed past all of his self doubt and truly believed in his abilities, named Bringer or Light/Darkness or not. (Shadowbringers was a huge step for in his character development for sure). Still didn’t let any of it get to his head then either, if anything it always humbled him.
