ELEVATED ACCESS CAN HELP YOU ACCESS HEALTHCARE!
Just so y'all are in the know-
One of the people I follow, the fabulous @aviatrix-ash wants to spread the word about a project that aims to help people get medical care by providing free transportation.
They want to counteract the push to make abortion and gender-affirming care less accessible.
From the Elevated Access website:
We are a non-profit organization that enables people to access healthcare by providing flights on private planes at no cost. Our volunteer pilot network transports clients seeking abortion or gender-affirming care across the United States.
Most people in the United States are within thirty miles of an air strip; at least one small airport with a single runway. The aviation community has been volunteering to provide “angel flights” for cancer patients, victims of natural disasters, and domestic violence survivors for decades. Unfortunately, today there is a growing need for folks to access additional types of assistance. Individuals are facing challenges to their bodily autonomy all over this country. And for those seeking health services, it can mean days of travel, time and wages lost from work, time away from families where they are the primary caregiver, and other significant financial investments. We don’t like that we need to exist, but we know that we can help.
Whether it’s abortion or gender-affirming care, Elevated Access is here to ease the burden and provide transportation for folks to receive life-saving healthcare.
Connect with Elevated Access here:
Or hear more about them in their own words:
youtube
Please reblog or share with others who may benefit from this sort of assistance or who are in a place to help support this project!
Stay strong and don't lose hope, we will get through this.

i’ve said it before but i’ll say it again, if your “accessible” bathroom requires going to a different floor to get to, it’s not accessible

also more codelyokoposting but I really really dig XANA as a villain. It's not a person with a complex background that led them down the path of evil, it's not a morally grey character you sympathize with but condemn. It's a powerful AI capable of controlling almost anything in the real world. It doesn't have a face or a body, we only know it for its symbol and for the monsters it controls in the virtual world. It's willing not just to kill people through various methods (poisoning, drowning, car crash, fucking space lasers too?) but also Earth as a whole (it tried to blow up a NUCLEAR PLANT and crash two trains with toxic chemicals in them). And we don't even know why it does this, at least not for now. It may not even have a particular reason, just some sort of virus or malware in the form of an AI that seeks nothing but destruction without any goals in mind. This "pure evil" characteristic doesn't come off as childish, like in some children cartoons, it's just kind of scary to think that such an incomprehensible and destructive force exists, almost feels like a natural disaster

The elevator in my ADA “accessible” building is broken. It has been for days. No word on when it’ll be fixed.
The fire alarms just went off, briefly, then stopped. There is no evacuation plan. Today is a bad pain day, it’s raining and I had to go grocery shopping (including going up and down some steps) with my in home care worker earlier. I could maybe get to and down the stairs by myself. Maybe. I don’t know if I could get my partner’s cat out with me (I would do my damn best though).
I have neighbors who also are wheelchair users, some who are in heavy powerchairs who live on the upper floors. Me and those neighbors haven’t spoken much outside of basic pleasantries by the mailboxes over the years— I think we’re all housebound. We are effectively strangers but we have shared cries for help. I know their screams and they know mine. Intimate terror.
The alarms have stopped and as of right now I am safe. My neighbors are safe.
I’m focusing on trying to catch my breath and lower my heart rate back to a safe range. I can’t stress enough how traumatic it is to be disabled in an inaccessible world.

where do you guys think jack lives?
it seems to be on helios, instead of someplace planet-side, but where on helios?
is his house above his office? is it in some other part of the station only accessible by the bus system? is it on the highest floor or is it with all the other apartments in the residential area of the space station?
im replaying TSP rn and i came to the realization that helios was much much more an entire city that i thought and now im curious on where everyone else hcs that hes living

In my city, four new elevators and other ♿️ accessability features are being installed at a busy, major train station, thanks to this effort. As I have difficulty walking down (yes, down!) stairs, this makes a major difference to me and so many others!
💙
♿️VOTE!

Another Damien question I’m so sorry!! But it’s technically also about celio but yeah his last name “klein” is being pronounced in 2 different ways throughout the show.. what’s the deal with that?
Nah don't apologize i love questions to answer when i have the time.
As for your question, I've always pronounced it Kl-ay-n but if you want a sure fire way to say a character's name, its via a character that Rain voices. or if Rain ooc has mentioned his name in full.
