none of their mentors actually know they're in a band, they just think the kids are really into music, and also into this one indie band? they never heard of it before but the music seems to be getting more popular day by day.

the band mostly just releases the music online, they didn't get an insane amount of streams at first, but then a superhero(not in yj) ends up mentioning their music, and they pretty much blow up over night.

tim didn't join the band initially at first, he makes the excuse that he doesn't know how to play any instruments, and that he has no time to learn, plus if Batman found out he'd probably wouldn't approve and he doesn't want to bother and deal with that.

anyway later someone stumbles on him singing some insane notes which apparently he wrote. He's got a whole journal filled with his songs that he never showed anyone, until he joins the band.

so Tim would become the lead singer/songwriter, cause I cant really see him playing an instrument? I may change my mind tho

James Gunn has proven that he fundamentally understands Kal-El as a character. This man has read the comics and it SHOWS.

Yes of course I'm thrilled about the details of the Clark versus Superman voice/posture change and the Smallville-esque bedroom. But I'm most thrilled about the story being told because it goes to the root of Superman's character.

The world will always force action to be political.

You stopped a war? Who did you do that for?

You saved a life? Well what kind of person's life?

But Superman doesn't care about the world that cares about borders. He is an alien who cares about humanity. It tracks for him to be distressed over the concept that anyone could ever question the morality of goodness and justice.

It also tracks for Lois Lane to ask the hard-hitting questions because she knows how the world works. Clark tries to be everything he wants to see in the world. Lois is presenting how the world actually works. This fascinating dichotomy making its way to screen is vital to our world and to the story of Superman.

Hope matters. It always has. It just matters more in the hands of someone who has the power to do something about it.

My hopes are high. In this world we need a Superman representative of hope and this might be it.

there are a lot of opinions about the supers that i don’t agree with, but i can still see where people are coming from. however, one hill that i’m willing to die on is that you can never tell a good story about them revealing their identity to the world or being exposed, and somehow make it seem like a good decision for them. you just can’t. it’s even worse when they willingly tell the world. it feels out of character and makes me distrust the author telling the story. a world where it’s safe for the supers to reveal their identities is a world that doesn’t need superheroes to begin with.
