Kochi lies near the western far end of Kyushu and taking the Bus from the other end in the Weekend I saw many common but touching scenes of people returning home from big cities like Osaka or Tokyo. At each large interchange station, I would often see young people getting off the Bus while the family, old parents were waiting. I could see that silent yet happy emotion of these short reunions in their quiet faces and their fear for the painful separation to come. They never seemed to say much to each other - such beautiful expression of humanity that I could never forget.
