A Party to be Remembered Through the Ages (Epilogue)
Ectoberhaunt 2022, Side Chaos. Prompt: Costume Party
Summary: The aftermath of Johnny and Kitty's party, and we see how Danny and a few ghosts deal with it.
Author's note: I'm finally done with this \OwO/ I swear this thing had no right to take me so long to write, why did a one-shot become a full on fic with 7 chapters I don't know, but at least now I know to be careful when writing to that my ideas don't get out of hand XD Please enjoy since I'm oficially done with this and I won't be joining in another event ever, this was too much for me considering I have plans for my own fics for the future :V
Edit: First - Previous - Next (This is the last part :D)
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o
“Ok, so you’re telling us that you got to the party, talked a little, played Just Dance twice, broke a fight and left the party, and it all happened in 2 hours?” Sam’s skepticism could be noticed a mile away, and neither Tucker, Jazz nor Danny could even pretend to not notice that.
“Yeah, that’s the brunt of it,” the poor halfa tried to defend himself, but the faces he received from everyone made it clear he would not be able to fly away with just that, “it’s the truth! I swear I’m not lying!”
"Wait, why was Technus disguised as himself?" Jazz asked while tilting her head slightly.
"Apparently he's the main reason the Ghost Zone is able to have technology working at all." Danny said, he was also going to continue talking some more about the different roles that the ghost can take in doing so, however he was interrupted by Tucker.
“Aha, yeah, why don’t you tell us what happened between all of that that you conveniently forgot about, huh?” he asked, lifting an eyebrow to Danny’s avoidance of going further.
“Awww, did my baby bro embarrass himself at the party or something?” She teased him while poking at his cheeks, all the while evading the blur of slaps that the brother was throwing around to avoid her teasing, “you know you have to tell us now what happened, right?”
“Will you stop if I tell you!?”
“Sure, but I want nothing but the truth little brother, got it?”
“Fine, fine, you got it.” “Woo hoo!” Exclaimed the rest of the trio, high fiving each other as they prepared themselves for the gossip that Danny was bound to offer now.
“So, I might’ve accidentally not on purpose
brokeSkulker’smindwithawhatIcanonlysupposewasabigrevelation.” That last part was said in a hurry, hopefully to avoid any further embarrassment that would be brought up by this.
“You broke Skulker!? Ha! You have to tell us how you did it now.” Tucker demanded as he pointed a finger to his best friend and laughed at the misery of the ghost hunter.
“So, apparently, the Ancients are not only still kicking around, but I’ve met all of them and made friends with half of them, beating the other half to a pulp.”
“Yeah, we’re gonna need more context for that. Who are the Ancients again?” Sam asked this time, flipping through one of the books she had with herself, “I can’t find anything on them.”
“Ok, so you remember Pariah Dark, right?”
“The dude that plucked Amity Park into the Ghost Zone?” Tucker asked, straightening himself on the seat he was on, now paying more attention to the story being told.
“Yeah, that dude. He was trapped inside the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep when Vlad released him that one time-” “-Vlad was the one that released him!?” Jaxx interrupted, putting hands in the air as her disbelief was heard from her voice.
“Wait, why am I surprised? He’s narcissistic enough to believe that was a good idea.”
“Yeah, anyways, the ones that trapped him there in the first place were a group of 7 powerful ghosts that banded together to stop his tyranny. Those are the Ancients.”
“Ok, so how do you know them all then?”
“I’ll just name them for you and you’ll get it. First is Clockwork-” “Yeah that’s a given.” “Not surprised.” “Who’s Clockwork again?” “Oh yeah you weren’t there when we had our time travel adventure.” “Oh, from the Dan incident, got it.” “Basically ghost time god.” “Well, doesn’t that rock the worldview.” “-next is Pandora.”
“Wait, Pandora is an Ancient?” “Considering her box I wouldn’t be surprised.” “Talking about those, it is safe, right? Nowhere near Boxy?” “Don’t worry Jazz, we’re safe there.”
“Anyways, the rest are Undergrowth, Frostbite, Vortex, Nocturne and Marduk.” Danny finished listing all of the Ancients’ names, a finger up for each of them until 7 fingers were up.
“Ok, so apparently we all know all of the most powerful ghosts of the Ghost Zone, and somehow became friends with 3 of them, while also managing to survive being enemies of the other half?” With each word, Tucker’s voice became more and more strained and high pitched, and in the end he seemed like a kettle in the boiling point.
“Yep.”
“That means I also got mind controlled by one of the Ancients.”
“Yeah, that wasn’t a good day.”
“That also means that that one Observant you punched in the eyeball was an Ancient, right?” Jazz was beginning to get a little nervous now, if the increase of pitch in her voice and dilated pupils were anything to go by.
“That asshole deserved it and nothing y’all say will make me think otherwise.” Crossing his arms Danny floated in place with his head up, not regretting doing said thing in the slightest.
“Wait a second, doesn’t that mean that you’re stronger than all the Ancients then? You managed to defeat Pariah alone after all.” Sam brought up a good point, a smile spreading through Tucker’s face when she said so.
“Dude, this is great then, that means that you won’t have to worry about any ghost ever again, you can just relax and goof around now.” Tucker was vibrating in place right now, stimming as his eyes shined through his glasses, “how many shenanigans do you think we can do with your fights now?”
“Oh oh oh, I got some ideas for that kind of thing,” Sam got closer to the boys, now conniving with them as well.
“At least you’ve managed to reach some peace of mind brother.” Jazz muttered under her breath as she sighed and shook her head, a fond smile adorning her face while doing so, “ok, move away, I also have some ideas for shenanigans.”
Meanwhile, in the Infinite Realms, the rumor mill was beginning to work around as ghosts were talking and spreading the things that happened at Johnny’s party the previous day, and it all started with Technus visiting Skulker.
“Skulker! I, Technus, master of all things technological and electrical have come to give your suit a check up and see if it’ll need any updates!” He trespassed into the island of the hunter with no regard to the traps that were spread around the place, moving masterfully to avoid all of them without a second thought. “Skulker!?”
When he managed to find the hunter, he was outside of his suit, just looking at the vegetation that spread through his Lair as the different hues of green were distinct enough to be distinguished from each other and the perpetual green with purple highlights of the Ghost Zone, eyes unfocused on anything as he remained there unblinking.
“Skulker, you alright there?”
“Peachy.” The sarcasm was tangible even in the soft single word that was uttered from his mouth, gaze still unfocused and to the skies.
“What happened that got the greatest hunter of the Ghost Zone in such a bad mood.”
“We’re just playmates Technus,” he finally turned his eyes away and looked directly into his eyes, “we’re just playmates to the whelp.”
“The ghost child? What makes you think that?”
“He told us about that yesterday”
“You mean that wasn’t a joke? How did you figure that?”
“Because of Frostbite.”
“What does he have to do with anything, he’s a pretty strong ghost, I’ll give him that, but he’s friends with the ghost child, he isn’t his enemy, he wouldn’t fight him of his own volition.”
“He has everything to do with this. I did some research on why he picked his costume and how come that Frostbite ghost was dressed up as the Whelp as well, and the things I uncovered were disconcerting to say the least.”
“Ok, and those things are
?”
“He’s an Ancient.”
“...What?”
“Frostbite is an Ancient.”
“You’re telling me I fought against an Ancient!?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot that detail when the Whelp chose to give me an existential crisis back then.”
“I fought against an Ancient!? I mean, no wonder it all seemed like a game from his perspective, but still, I sparred against an Ancient!?”
“And that’s not the only thing.”
“There’s more?” The whispered question left Technus’ mouth as disbelief plagued those words.
“Ember told me that the other ghost the Whelp invited is Pandora, another one of the Ancients.”
“Is the Kid friend with all the Ancients!?”
“At this rate he might as well be.”
“I-I need to sit down for a second here. This is too much.” Technus lowered himself until he was sitting on top of a rock that was next to Skulker's empty mech, bringing a hand to his head and combing his hair.
“Yes
 It’s a lot.”
“Wait
didn’t Frostbite say that the Ghost Boy’s fighting abilities would be up to the standards of the Ancient of Hope Pandora?”
“Oh Ancients you’re right
Does that mean that we’re up to the standards of an Ancient?” The hope in Skulker’s voice was palpable, having the possible recognition of an Ancient as the greatest hunter of the Ghost Zone would give him the biggest boost to his ego in his whole death.
“I have to tell everyone, I can’t believe even the Box Ghost has met the standards of an Ancient.”
“Pshhh, I doubt that guy can meet anyone’s standards,” Skulker began floating to his mech and got inside, closing his face and beginning operating it, “except maybe Lunch Lady’s standards for a lover. I heard from Ember that they’re looking to take the next step soon enough.”
“Oh, they’ll have a baby!?” Technus floated a few centimeters higher when he heard the news, “I have to congratulate them, then I’ll spread the word of Phantom and us being up to Ancient standards.”
“Don’t exaggerate anything, I don’t want any powerful ghost coming to my Lair looking for a fight and destroying me,” Skulker said as he stood up and began polishing some of his weapons, “the Whelp is the one within standards, we’re just below them, remember that.”
“Sure sure, now I have to go to congratulate the lucky pair, see you later Skulker.”
And like that, a rumor began running around the Infinite Realms, starting with the fact that Phantom was up to the standards of the Ancients, and some of his rogues were as well if Danny had to take their fights seriously; then that got distorted into Phantom fighting some Ancients with the help of some of his rogues, then it distorted furthermore into Danny fighting and winning against some Ancients alone, then some rouges (between them Skulker and Technus) being able to defeat some Ancients if they work together, then that Johnny’s party was interrupted by an Ancient that Danny beat up and got out of his Lair, to then Danny fighting against 2 Ancients and winning barely with the help of some other ghosts present; to finally land funnily enough to Danny kicking out 2 of the Ancients alone of the party, which is actually true if one remembers that he did so with words only instead of fists and ecto-blasts, but that’s something only a few knew, and it’s not like doing that isn’t just as impressive as doing so with a fight.
After that small rumor mill completed its job through a month’s time, another one began working at the same time about the epicness of Johnny and Kitty’s parties, beginning with the fact that one would be able to duke it out without repercussions, to the fact that the open bar they had had some very mysterious and potent stuff, to there being the possibility of some famous ghosts assisting, to the certainty that famous ghosts always go to them, to Ancients going to them as well.
And it’s not like those 2 rumors will be leaving soon, after all they all have some nuggets of truth inside them. Danny is strong enough to be recognized by all of the Ancients, and he’s friends with some of them, not to mention that he has defeated 3 of them as well. And Johnny and Kitty both have some bottles of liquor without labels, and they allow fights as long as they happen in the backyard of their Lair, and in the latest party 2 Ancients were invited as a +3, and they’re plenty famous alright if ghosts know their history, which to be fair, that’s only a small amount of them.
By the time that Danny went to the Acropolis of Athena, all the ghosts that he came across that wasn’t part of his rogue gallery gave him a wide berth, avoiding him at all costs, and the fact that everyone say him arriving towards the Lair of an Ancient, passing over the labyrinth without being struck down, and stopping at Pandora’s room, letting those few with the ability to see though the buildings witness her receiving him with open arms and a hug, did nothing to calm down the rumor mill, if anything, it made the rumors going around worse, thus marking the day of the party as one that catalyzed the biggest rumor distortion of all time that somehow managed to stay 100% on spot.

I can't beleive I didn't post this! Anyway, this was Ectoberhaunt II: Staff
A Grandfather Clockwork short.
TW - depictions of a ghost destabalizing; essentially melting. Character death. Also almost- suicidal thoughts? Is it considered that if a character is giving himself up for another?
Yeah. I didn't expect this to turn out quite so angsty.
â–Ș  《€》  â–Ș 《â–Ș◇ â–ȘïžŽă€‹ â–Ș  《€》  â–Ș
It wasn't often Clockwork visited Danny in the living realm.
Even less so with his red eyes tinged green and his scar leaking shadows.
That Danny was in the middle of dodging ectoblasts from a ghost and his parents was irrelevant.
"Clo—"
A cyan hand found his shoulder and he was surrounded by the discordant ticking of a thousand clocks. As well as the glowing green gears; those might be worth mentioning.
"ckwork? Are you—"
Of course he wasn't okay. He was literally shuddering as he lifted his arm to him, then jerked it back down again.
"Da—" his voice was thick with static, and he opened and closed his mouth a few times, as if hoping some other sound would come out. Suddenly his voice was clear. Loud, like a gasp after being underwater. "Daniel."
"Wh-y did you bring me here?"
"Sa
afe," static. "la—ir."
::readmore::
He tried again. "Less
udchchchchx uder my
chxco—co..trol."
His entire body was trembling, taut with tension as if two forces wrestled for control.
Danny reached for his shoulder, but Clockwork jerked away, as if sucker-punched. He tried not to feel hurt.
Clockwork reached for him again, but his hand fell just shy of him as his eyes dropped. His staff appeared in his other hand, and he looked pained, yanking it to himself.
Danny noticed a drop of blue on his temple, like paint or liquid plastic.
His eyes widened. "A–are you okay?"
Clockwork offered a shaky half smile, but didn't answer.
Danny pursed his lips, eyes wide.
Clockwork listed to the side.
Launching himself to him, Danny tried to keep him upright, steady; in control, like Clockwork was supposed to be.
Not a jittery mess that looked like he'd either topple into a despondent contradiction or melt into a broken puddle.
Clockwork leaned on him for a moment, then stumbled away and stood straight. Somehow, though he stood steadier than before; with more resolve, Danny realized, he looked way worse. The hand that held the staff gripped too tight; shaking, and his other arm seemed to be melting upwards and fading to mist at once.
"Daniel." His voice was commanding, no longer the tender grandfather he so often showed. "You know the importance of Keeping to the right Timestream," It was a statement; a command.
Not a question.
Danny paled.
"I—Clockwork! You're going to li—"
"Don't let the last words I hear be a lie, son."
He paled still further.
"This—this is all a test, right? Yeah, and in a few minutes
or hours, days, whatever—you'll come get me, and it'll just be another test-lesson-thing, and—"
Clockwork glided forward and put a finger to his mouth.
"Daniel. I need you to listen, not speak, right now."
Danny bit his lip but was silent.
"Whatever I do, or you do, remember you can do better. Whether you think you're irredeemable or not, it will be made right.
"And you don't always have to be the one to make it that way. There will, at the very least eventually, be those who help guide you through messes you think you can't navigate.
"Simply—" and here he almost chuckled, "Don't worry about the future. Whether it is fixed by you or someone else, it will be.
"And whether it works out for the better good or not, pain is not forever, and their ends will become their beginnings. Daniel—"
Those eyes that should be ruby began once again to manically glow that venomous green, and the hand that had been on his lips now traveled down towards his neck.
A fury that hadn't been in his eyes now flashed, and a strong hand grasped Danny's throat, hard, too hard. Even if he didn't need to breath much, pressure on a throat always hurts.
"Clchch—" Danny hadn't learned properly how to reform vocal chords or breath air through the back of his head yet.
[Pressing a little too roughly, a little to hard. He was human, after all.
Then he started to strangle.]
Even in this, though, he realized Clockwork was fighting.
He hadn't grabbed for his core. Never his core.
A large gear sprang—well, probably rolled—into existence between them, shoving Clockwork back. He looked releived, but the guilt in his eyes made Danny balk.
He tried to lighten the mood. "So that's what you meant about your lair being better, huh? Wanted to get geared up for how you roll?"
He could see Clockwork try to smile, but the self-loathing in his eyes ruined the effect. Danny frowned, worried.
Those had been good puns, too.
Clockwork looked up and held his eyes, almost more sincere than he had ever seen him.
~ pov change ~
"Danie—Danny. I'm sorry for leaving you like this. I'm sorry I'm so selfish, that I—" prefer to die than allow the chance that I could kill you. Oh, child. "I'm so sorry for leaving you." Alone. To learn to navigate the time stream as he had, without guidance. He'd tried, oh he'd tried to make a good beginning of it, but ancients—perhaps ironically; there never was enough time.
He seemed to be growing shorter—or, rather, shrinking. He felt—buzzy—seeing to much and too little as his powers acted up in anticipation of ending.
Eh, they'd have a new host.
He was at the edge of a forgotten rice farming village in Babylonia.
He was in a Nasty Burger joint as it exploded, hurling debris as a hurt boy's world fell apart.
He was at a crossroads near Ephesus as a man asked what it all meant.
He—his duplicate—stood before some observants who'd entered his lair.
"What are you doing?" they hissed.
They always came in threes. Why did they always come in threes?
He hated threes.
He ignored their question. It was rhetorical after all. It had to be if they knew the answer, right?
He cocked his head to the side. "Why are you here?"
It wasn't like he didn't know. They were trying to make him kill his ward.
What more could they do to him as he allowed himself to end?
They stalked forward. "What is the meaning of this?!" "You know very well why we're here." "What are you doing?!"
The hatred emanating off of them was delightful.
Best infuriate them one last time.
"Saving the timeline."
Fulfilling his duties.
Obeying you.
His grin had to look gruesome with half his face melting off.
"You will immediately cea—"
"Stop? Spyníc? Deténgasse? I am following your orders, if I may remind you." he felt his face stretch into a too- wide grin. "Of course I may. Or perhaps your little power hungry egos are too weak for that."
What did it mean to him if they tried to hurt him? He was ending; because of them; they couldn’t injure him anymore than the slow death he was feeling right now.
They advanced, and his duplicate popped out of visibility before them.
Danny suddenly straightened, steel in his eyes. "I'll—I'll bring you back, Clockwork. I swear, I'll find—"
"No." Clockworks voice growled like thunder, sizzling and popping with ghost speak.
Danny cowered.
Clockwork's face softened, but he hissed fiercely nonetheless, "You must not come for me. You must live."
I have had all the time I needed. You have not.
It had been the only way to be sure through his own actions Danny would live. There were chances, many truthfully, that Daniel could fight him under their power and win.
But there were also possibilities he wouldn't; futures where Clockwork was the one left kneeling over the child's broken body.
His child's.
Those ended in a far worse way than those futures in which Daniel became the new Timekeeper prematurely.
The observants glared as they ventured around, his duplicate leading them on deeper into his lair.
He let his cheshire grin fade into existence before them. They reared back, tripping over themselves, then collected themselves, shooting him little glares all the while.
Finally they stood straight, daring him to just weave into their midst and tickle their armpits or jab their solar plexuses.
"You—you will not enact this—this sick—act!"
They were afraid. No, they were terrified.
They would miss this power he gave them.
He knelt and embraced Daniel in the molten mess he was becoming.
"You will die."  They hissed.
Clockwork smiled, wearied and broken and glad. "All is as it should be."
And Danny knelt on the floor and wept, in a cyan pool of ectoplasm that wrapped and caressed him, before seeping up through his skin to make a unique creature into a new one.
】》->-】》->--】》->---
Clockwork's speech - maybe it doesn't sound too encouraging now, but I mainly put thoughts that brought me out of my depression—at least long enough to ignore it for awhile—and I think they're what Danny will need to remember in the future, when he, like any of us, inevitably messes up for a time, so he doesn't go down that hole of hating yourself so much you bring everyone down with you; at least for too long.;P As for the rest of it—word vomit. I honestly didn't know what to write, so I just put hints of what I would tell myself, if I were a separate person.

people love to throw advices that say "be you", "you're unique no one can take that away from you" and yeah well maybe yes, it even sounds so grounding. but for every situation I've ever found myself in- i find a reel for it. for every pain that heavies my heart- there is a poem already written.
everything i say has been said. everything i do has been done. everything i think has been thought. people have loved the way i love. people have hurt the way i hurt and have wondered the way i do.
it all makes me want to freeze myself. i don't want to move. what is this? we've days we can't recall. people just die. who has the control keys? why are we living the same lives just in different fonts? and if we all are the same and just a lump of atoms- why is she prettier and why is he richer?

Why in superhero movies or tv shows the main character (the hero) and their partner will get in a fight over the hero being a hero. Like it always goes like this.
Hero: I'm sorry I missed your birthday party. I was just busy stopping a radioactive bio weapon virus filled plane from crashing into a nuclear power plant that has 800 metric tons of plasma and an explosive rare ore form space.
Partner: This party was important to me. It's the only one this year that I cared about and wanted you there for. If you cared about me you would've put that on pause and come to the party.
Hero: I told you who I was when this relationship started and you were okay with it. I told you how much of my life being a hero takes up.
Like it's always this and they end up either breaking up or someone dies

Back on my BS with a fat new chapter!  CWs for gore, body horror, and animal mutilation.  In later chapters, additional CWs for vomiting and binge eating.
The Drs. Fenton have noticed a trend over the past two years. Ghost activity always soars to unmanageable levels in the weeks leading up to Halloween. This year, they decide to take the proactive approach by shutting the portal down for the month of October. Little do they know, disrupting the strange new ecosystem they had created will have fatal consequences

I decided to decorate the sliding glass door of my family home with as many gel and flat windows çlings as I possibly can, while maintaining a sorta tastefulness. I am now going to leave it on there for as long as I can get away with it. I think I'll be able to keep the snowflake ones up for the entire year. Will most likely be required to remove the more Christmassy ones. We shall see.

A party to be remembered through the ages (Part 5)
Ectoberhaunt 2022, Side Chaos. Prompt: Costume Party
Summary: Danny goes to collect his friends to their lairs before going to the party.
Author's note: Ok, I took my time with this one, but I wanted to have Dora, Frostbite and Pandora in the same place before starting the next part and it just kept going and going XD
Edit: First - Previous - Next
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o
“Thank you for escorting me to the ball Sir Phantom.” Dora bowed before Danny, wearing some golden armor while having a spear in one hand and donning her hair in a pony tail set above her head, coming out of the holes of the helmet she’s currently wearing.
“No problem Dora, the least I could do since I invited you.” He replied while opening the door to the Specter Speeder beside himself, letting her go inside while watching over the guards that were accompanying her. “Don’t worry, I’ll watch over her.”
The guards accompanying Dora breathed out a sigh as relief flooded their bodies, knowing that Phantom would watch over their now queen was a relief since everyone knows how strong and responsible the young halfa can be, and there’s no way he would treat their ruler as anything less than family. “Thank you very much Sir Phantom, with this we’ll be reassured that she’ll be able to enjoy the ball to its full extent.”
“Well, I’ll be going off then, it won’t do for us to arrive late to the party.” And with that, Danny entered the Specter Speeder and closed the door, positioning himself behind the wheel as he took off towards his next destination.
“Why would we be late, Sir Phantom? I had the understanding that there is still plenty of time for the ball to begin.” Dora inquired while tilting her head and keeping her armor from clanging too much with each piece.
“There’s plenty of time yes, but considering how far my other plus 3 live, we actually only have about 30 minutes of free time before arriving at Johnny’s party, and knowing my luck we’ll end up going up against a ghost monster of some kind that’ll delay us.”
“Oh, I wasn’t aware you had such terrible luck Sir Phantom, nor that some of your friends’ lair resided so far away. Where, pray tell, are we going?”
“We’re going to the Far Frozen, and as it’s name implies, it resides very far away, so this will be a long ride that’s ahead of us. I came for you first since your place is in the other direction of everyone else.”
“I understand, then I shall propose some conversation topics to talk between us to pass the time and we won’t become bored.”
“Thanks for that Dora, traveling that far and so long can be boring most times if there’s nothing interesting to watch outside, and I’ve done this track enough times that there’s nothing new for me out there anymore.”
“Oh really? Would you mind telling me some of the views I should be expecting to witness then please?”
“No problem. First of all there’s the Carnivorous Canyon, which isn’t nearby, but it’s the most noticeable thing out there
” Danny began talking about the many places that there’s following the trek towards their objective, mentioning what they looked like, what their expected orbits are, the small things that surround them that work as preamble to reaching them, what kind of ghosts to expect when reaching those places, and many more things as well. The conversation was long enough that by the time they reached the edges of the Far Frozen, they barely managed to get halfway through all of the different vissages one could see, and which they’ve seen already. “We’re here, the Far Frozen. I don’t know how good you are with the cold, so you might want to stay inside of the Specter Speeder while I go outside to get Frostbite.”
“Thank you for the warning Sir Phantom, I’ll remain in here waiting for your return in that case.”
“Got it, see you in a bit.” And with that Danny stepped out of the Specter Speeder, closed the door without locking it, and floated towards the entrance of the Far Frozen, where one of the many yetis was waiting for him to arrive.
“Welcome Great One, Chief Frostbite has been eagerly waiting for today to come.”
“I’m glad he’s excited about today’s party, I wonder who he dressed up as.” A chuckle could be heard to his side as they walked through the tunnels towards the settlements of the Lair of the yetis. “...What was that laugh for?”
“You’ll see soon Great One, the trek is short after all.” His face returned to neutrality, but it was visible that the corner of his mouth was twitching a little and the yeti was doing his best to not look straight to Danny as well.
“Okay
?” Danny eyes closed a little, and he looked at the yeti accompanying him, trying to discover whatever it was keeping from him, but ended up shrugging and turning back ahead, shoulders relaxed and eyes lax, not caring anymore about his surroundings, which allowed him to miss the yeti next to him let his own shoulders down in relief, nd the both of them continued walking for a few minutes before finally arriving to the end of the tunnel, place where Frostbite was already waiting for him all dressed up already. “Oh Frostbite, whyyyyy
?”
Danny’s lament while he put his face on his hands was explained by way of Frostbite, chieftain of the yetis of the Far Frozen, having dressed up as Danny Phantom himself, white gloves and boots covering his feet and hands, and fur painted black all over the place except on the head, where it all remained white.
“Great One! Thank you for the invitation for the party, it is very much appreciated,” Frostbite’s smile couldn’t be bigger right now, especially after witnessing the flabbergasted expression that Danny was making right that instant, “What do you think of my costume?”
“Wha-Why-Frostbite! I’m not a historical figure!” Green was beginning to show on his face as Danny put his hands in the air.
“But of course you are Great One, you saved the Infinite Realms from the tyranny of Pariah Dark, you helped my people recover the Infinimap when it was stolen, you’ve managed to defeat three of the Ancients as well, you helped Pandora recover her box too
Should I continue?” The yeti asked once he noticed Danny’s face was completely green now as his eyes dilated a little and his head was hunched in between his shoulders.
“Please stop talking.” The halfa replied in a high pitch, causing the rest of the yetis present to start laughing, and his face to get even greener than before as well. “Can we go now!?”
“Yes yes, of course Great One,” the chieftain said his goodbyes to his people and, after everyone breathing after the laugh, gave the pair of disguised ghosts a hug before returning to their respective duties. The walk back to the Specter Speeder was a short one, however a swift conversation was had in that time. “I didn’t expect you to dress up as an Ancient Great One.”
“Ditto to you, but with me.”
“I’m sorry?”
“It means same, however not exactly, in this case because you dressed up as me instead.”
“Ah, I got it then. Following the lingo from the living realm isn’t an easy endeavor.”
“Yeah, I get that. If adults can get lost with teenagers then I can’t blame you for being an uber boomer.”
“A what now?”
“Don’t worry about it, the thing is I don’t expect you to understand all the memes I throw at you.”
“I understand, may I ask though, what inspired you to choose an ancient as a historical figure?”
“Well, I just vibe with his vibes and want to try those vibes for myself.”
“...The only thing I understood about that was the implication that you’ve met Clockwork before.”
“Yeah, I like the dude, they’re pretty neat even if they’re cryptic as fuck.”
“No wonder you were able to make such an accurate costume, Great One!” A smile was plastered on Frostbite's face as he patted him in the back with enough strength to push him towards the door of the Specter Speeder. Recovering his balance, Danny finally opened the door of the vehicle and went inside.
“Dora, I present you Frostbite, chieftain of the Far Frozen, who for some reason thought of dressing up as me.” That last bit was said in a low voice, and even though the princess wasn’t able to hear it completely, she was able to realize it’s meaning quick enough once the yeti entered the ship and showed himself in all of his glory, or at least as much as he could considering he had to remain hunched inside if he didn’t want to hit his head on the ceiling. “Frostbite, this is queen Dorothea of the Dragon Queendom.”
“Greetings queen Dorothea, it is a pleasure to meet you.” Frostbite said while making a slight bow, which might’ve looked a little ridiculous considering both his build and location, and the fact that Danny was hiding a smile behind his hand and shaking shoulders.
“The feeling is mutual chief Frostbite, I’m happy to make your acquaintance.” Replied Dora with a small bow of her own and a pantomime of widening a skirt as a greeting.
“Well, now that you’ve met, I’ll go to the driver seat and get us towards my last plus three before going to the party. I suggest you sit down Frostbite so that you don’t have to be hunched up all the time.” And with that Danny went to the front seat and turned up the motors, slowly lifting the Specter Speeder, turning it around, and finally leaving the Far Frozen behind the trio. Now there was only 1 ghost left to pick up, and it would be a faster flight than the one to pick up Frostbite, but still enough time would be left for everyone to have a good conversation in the traveling time.
“So, queen Dorothea, I couldn’t help but notice who you’re dressed up as.”
“I could say the same about you chieftain Frostbite.” A chuckle escaped her lips.
“Please don’t get him started on that, I’m embarrassed enough.” Danny squeaked from the cockpit, eliciting a laugh from both of his friends in the back.
“Well queen Dorothea, to answer your question, I think you’re aware of the Great One’s exploits throughout the Infinite Realms, it would be a lie to say he isn’t making history as we speak.”
“I can’t deny any of those claims myself, he was the usurper of the ghost king throne after all.”
“Ancients you guys are the worst.” Danny’s face has full on green now, and letting the ship go straight on it’s own, he buried his own face in his hands, drowning any noise coming from behind with his own groans, missing the few minutes where the conversation became interesting enough since both Dora and Frostbite were now discussing their own costumes in depth.
Eventually enough time passed and they were all approaching the Acropolis of Athens, where Pandora was waiting for Danny near the entrance of her own lair. Danny wasted no time, and the moment he left the Specter Speeder in park, he zipped outside and flew fast enough to tackle any normal ghost.
“Phantom!” The huge ghost opened her 4 arms and received the halfa in all of her arms in a hug.
“Pandora! How are you doing? Ready to go to a party and make it unforgettable?” Danny’s eyes were shining at that moment, and on closer inspection his freckles were doing so as well, moving slightly to mimic the constellations back on Earth.
“Of course, it shall be a celebration that will be remembered in the books of history!” Raising her hands and letting him go, Pandora cheered as she began floating towards the Specter Speeder, the 2 robes she wore fluttering through the ectoplasm in the realms, the first one with flames decorations littered all through it, while the second yellow one was tied around her waist as if it was a skirt. Instead of the helmet she usually wears, a closed round one was in its place, white in color and not really useful for protection considering how much free space it left inside it. She still wore the rest of her armor, Pandora would never leave without it, however this time it wasn’t a golden armor, but a bronze one.
“Hey! Don’t leave me behind!” Phantom soon followed behind her, arriving almost at the same time the two of them to the vehicle, which currently was too small for the gigantic figure that was the leader of the Acropolis of Athens. “I suppose your costume will shrink with you, right?”
“Of course little Phantom, no need to worry about me.” And she began shrinking down slowly and steadily, until her frame was small enough that she would be able to fit through the door with almost no space left to wiggle were she to pass through without ducking underneath the top of the door.
“Great, I’ll open the door for you and present you to the other 2 ghosts once we’re both inside.” He opened the Specter Speeder and, only after being halfway through the umbral remembered to turn back and ask something else, “by the way, the way to the party will be a long one, will you be fine being shrunk down all the while until then?”
“I’ll be fine, now go inside so you can begin the pleasantries and we can go to the party.” Pandora began pushing the halfa into the vehicle, impatient already for the travel to end so she could join the party.
“Alright alright, geez you're pushy.” Danny replied teasingly towards the ghost behind him, finally allowing both of them to reach the interior of the place and witness the other 2 ghosts staring at them, Frostbite hiding his chuckles behind his ice arm, which proves a moot point as it’s easy to see his mouth behind it. “Dora, Frostbite, this is Pandora, Leader of the Acropolis of Athens. Pandora, this are Queen Dorothea of the Dragon queendom and Frostbite, Chief of the Far Frozen. Hope you guys get along because I gotta man the Specter Speeder if we want to get there on time.”
“Pa-pa-pa-pa-” Dra stuttered while opening and closing her mouth like a fish, eliciting a laugh from her, thing that immediately snapped her back to attention and had her bowing down while lowering herself enough to almost kneel when extending the dress she wasn’t wearing, “-I-It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“No need for such formality young queen, we’re going to a party and I’m not acting as a leader after all.” Her laugh softened as she allowed the other ghost to relax a little bit.
“It’s good to see you again dear friend, though I have to say this was an unexpected way to find each other.” Frostbite came closer and extended one of his claws to her, which was reciprocated in kind.
“Likewise Frostbite, I suppose you haven’t gone rusty after all these years, have you?”
“You’ll have to see for yourself in the future.” Smiles and a silent promise was exchanged between the two of them.
“Um, can someone explain to me what’s going on?” Danny asked while tilting his head slightly, and Dora’s enthusiasm was the first thing to make itself noticeable as she turned around and began talking with fanfare.
“Sir Phantom, I wasn’t aware you were a friend with one of the Ancients, oh if I knew that I would’ve prepared something else as well. A gift would’ve been nice right now but it’s too late for that, favors are not something to be trifled with and considering courtesy is something to be expected there’s not much I can offer that won’t be seen as a ploy of some kind.”
“Wait a sec, time out everyone.” Danny put his hands out creating a T with the both of them, “You’re telling me that Pandora is an Ancient?”
“Not only Pandora.” Frostbite sat himself back in place, wonder clear in his voice.
“What are you talking about?” Suspicion was clear in his voice, and the way his eyes squinted made his emotions increasingly clear for everyone to see.
“Well, you did invite a friend of mine and fellow ancient as well little Phantom.”
“What!?” Both Danny and Dora screamed at that revelation for different reasons.
“I can’t believe I’ve been talking informally with an Ancient all this time.” The haunted look in her eyes and the hands on her head was all that was needed to be shown to demonstrate that the standing still queen was having a small panic attack.
“So you’re an Ancient, you’re an Ancient, I’m dressed up as an Ancient. Is there any other Ancient I know but don’t really know about!?” Hands in the air, Danny increased the volume of his voice with each ghost he pointed at, until by the end he eventually was screaming.
“Well, the Ancients are Ancient of Medicine and Care Frostbite, Ancient of Time Clockwork, Ancient of Safety Observant Marduk, Ancient of Life Undergrowth, Ancient of Weather Vortex, Ancient of Dreams Nocturne and Ancient of Hope, yours truly, Pandora.”
“You’re telling me
That during my 3 first years as a halfa
I managed to encounter EVERY SINGLE Ancient without knowing it?”
“You know all of them Sir phantom?” Dora’s eyes were shining when she said that, with what emotion behind them it was hard to say, but with the small gasp she took it could be safe to say that astonishment and surprise was between all those feelings.
“Apparently,” Danny sighed as he saw everyone’s eyes looking at him directly, as if asking for more information, and as such he gave it to them, “The first one I met was Clockwork, who was tasked by the Observants to stop a timeline where I caused the apocalypse by ‘taking care of me’, too bad they worded it all wrong and now he’s basically a grandpa to me; Marduk I met soon after in one of the visits I gave to Clocky, after which I met you Frostbite during the Infinimap fiasco. Undergrowth came the next week, and Vortex the one after, both of them I had to fight off since they attacked Amity Park; and about a month later I met you Pandora, getting your box back from Boxy wasn’t as easy as it should’ve been. And finally Nocturne sent the entirety of Amity Park to sleep for whatever reason I forgot already about.”
A small silence dominated the ship after that explanation, however that only lasted a few seconds before both of the Ancients present began laughing, the absurdity of Danny’s half life being too much for them to take seriously.
