Hi! This post on twitter made me wonder about Suibian, what all do we know about Wei Wuxian's sword from the novel? Personally I sometimes wonder if the reason it sealed itself was because it wouldve been way too easy to use it to commit crimes and blame them on Wei Wuxian because Suibian is his, in life and death both, he's probably evil and powerful enough to do this all as revenge... so I wonder if Suibian's last known act was in its master's protection? How strong would the rumours about everything wwx supposedly did after death would be if Suibian was found among the evidence?? Thoughts? How strong is suibian and do you have any headcanons about Suibian?

Siubian is confirmed to be sealed post-first siege, but nobody ever actually used it after it was confiscated during the QishanWen indoctrination camp. Therefore, we don't actually know when Wei Wuxian's cultivation strength crossed the threshold for sealing, but my headcanon is that it happened during the killing of the Xuanwu of Slaughter. If Siubian hadn't sealed itself, I don't think much about the 13-year gap would change because everyone knows that the Jin took Siubian as a "war trophy," just like they know that the Jin took the remaining half of the stygian tiger seal.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's wonderful that Charles chose to stay with Edwin after he died but it irks me how some people, especially the Night Nurse, ascribe too much to this decision while I believe it only really shows he's scared of the unknown.

She says:

The key word is potentially. What if it's not? What if it's just oblivion? Yes, that's not a negative thing in itself, but it's hard to actively choose to move on if this is one of the options for Charles.

Because even the Night Nurse doesn't know what's his (or anyone's really) afterlife like:

"Let's get you processed, find out what your afterlife has in store. (...) Everyone has a place. Don't you want to know what yours is? It might be wonderful."

It might be, but it doesn't have to be. It might be nothing. We know it's not hell, but there could be a whole spectrum between heaven and hell.

Essentially, unless I'm missing something, Charles knows nothing more about his afterlife than he did before he died so it seems a bit weird for me when people are acting like he literally gave up heaven for Edwin. He simply chose the known over the unknown.

mihawk always refuses, but when the government puts out a hit on mihawk because he broke contract, mihawk finds himself thoroughly protected by the gol family anyways. shanks, however, doesn't save mihawk fast enough to spare the hitman some torture so, in retaliation, shanks brings down the entire government and exposes the conspiracy while he's at it, with the finale being a grand announcement that mihawk is his, actually, back the fuck off and don't try this again.

by the end, mihawk still doesn't work for the gols, but if he marries into the family, well. "there's still a difference, red." (shanks whines about this daily.)
