The Secret Origin of Wally ManMoth

Cocytus was one of the better-performing comic companies outside the big 2 in the 1970s before the whole company was bought out by Buzby-Spurlock Animation in the early 80s.

TyrannoMax was its biggest title, so almost everyone in the character stable teamed up with the Dinoids eventually.

Process under the fold.

TyrannMax is created via use of Dall-E 3 and Midjourney as pencilers, and me doing essentially everything else (writing, editing, inking, lettering, layout, etc.) DE is on most of the character art, MJ on backgrounds and select characters.

Each panel utilizes anywhere from one gen/prompt (for a handful of very simple head-shots) to around 20 for stuff like the DinoHydra action shot or the hero/villain showcase panels.

Once I know what I want for a page I lay out the rough dialog and panels, then start generating pics. Basic prompt format and a few examples:

Then I take the pics into PS, arrange and composite them, and then remove all the color. I don't tend to prompt for my final colors on characters and instead choose light tones I can easily extract. Why not just do B&W prompts? Style impact.

Then I start to re-ink over errors and details that don't match the mood I want, match line thicknesses over various elements, etc. Through this process I adjust dialog placement and panel arrangements, and do generally the things and editor and letterer would be up to.

Once I have the inks, flat colors, and the text on various layers, I do the weathering and compositing to simulate scans of a 1970s comic book. This is also where the deliberate flaws in coloring and print alignment are added for authenticity.

I'm a little confused about what Y/N works as. To me, they look like a manager, kind of, but they have a staff hat, so I assume that means they're a lower/general employee. Do they work with Sun and Moon directly or do they just see the boys often when they're working?

So, this is something I'm INCREDIBLY glad I got an ask for, as Y/N's role is very plot relevant to the catalyst event of the fic. (In a way...)

To start off, you're actually half-right on the manager idea! In Chasing Stars, every Pizza-Plex employee is meant to have a 'supervisor' for the first month or so - the person they can go to for help or clarification instead of bothering upper management with their plebeian pleas. This supervisor is also meant to give the employee under them their welcoming tour, along with their uniform. The supervisor is always the most experienced (via time there worked) in the same position (ex. food staff, custodian, P&S) as the person they're supervising, and don't actually have much authority over them.

This is how things usually go, HOWEVER, when Y/N was accepted into their role as General Staff, there wasn't anyone else currently in that position (the previous ones 'left' rather quickly. Hm.) This resulted in them not receiving a supervisor, along with a stark lack of instructions. Sucks for them I guess!

But what sucks even more is that shortly after being hired, ANOTHER general staff member joins the team, and since Y/N is technically the most experienced General Staff member... They become her supervisor.

Who is this mysterious girl? Why, Vanessa A. of course!

Vanessa's nickname for the reader in the fic is 'Boss', and despite Y/N trying to correct her that: A. They have have literally no jurisdiction over her and B. That they're just as clueless as she is, she insists upon the name. Even after she gets put on Security duty due to [SPOILER], she keeps term for Y/N. (Interspersed with a more fond nickname that I shall not disclose yet).

Vanessa and the readers relationship is a significant and complicated one that's going to change a lot throughout the fic. In fact, I'd call it the second most important relationship in terms of plot/themes, after the DCA. But overall, I'd say they're... 'good friends'.

As for the last part of your question - which yeesh, sorry for the yap session - the role of General Staff is to do whatever odd jobs are left over after everyone is assigned their work, but more importantly, they can be called on by any animatronic or other staff member that happens to need help with their job. You can basically summon them like your personal butler. Of course, Sun and Moon abuse this ability to the extreme, which means that Y/N ends up working with them very often. (I mean, the daycare just gets so busy and we're so understaffed!! You understand, don't you? And- we finish the work so quick with YOUR help that you may as well stick around awhile longer, right? Management won't care about a few missing minutes... or hours. We won't tell if you don't :) )

(PS. CS! Vanessa's personality is very inspired by @/naffeclipse, because by god I love her interpretation of the character so much.)

Accountability Buddy Search!

I am currently on the search for an accountability buddy! Someone I can use to keep me on track with my academic goals, life admin goals, language study goals, and whatever specific things I'd want to accomplish! I also would love to help someone else stay accountable with their academic/language/life admin goals!

FIRE EMBLEM FYI: Specifically for 3Houses/3Hopes because I need a separate one for this franchise specificially given how many crazy things I got due to being involved in this fanbase via my fanworks:

DO NOT try to convince me to like or tolerate Byleth/student ships, ESPECIALLY the ones with the lords (aka CIaude, Dimitri, EdeIgard). I already summarized why I don’t like FE3H Byleth ships with student chars here. While the spinoff game FEW3H has now removed that teacher/student problematic situation, the fandom keeps putting the FE3H elements into the FEW3H fanworks (i.e. remembering Byleth from “another life” trope)...so no thanks!! DO NOT SHOW ME IT!!!

As for the Byleth ships with faculty members, my response is here so don’t try to bait me about that topic either thanks.

I do not care whom you ingame S-support. 3Houses limits the dating-sim part of the game to that character, so I cannot care less about how you play the game. The main issue I have is when people treat Byleth the “character” as a legit ship material when I personally think they are a cool character ruined by fans who are too obsessed with badly executed self insert otome tropes bc they self-project super hard onto them. Just to be clear, any FE3H or FEW3H OC/Canon >>>>>>Byleth ships personally. Even Byleth-sonas that remove the teacher/student aspects are better than canon FE3H!Byleth

Please don't drag FE VA statements as some sort of “gotcha” on my opinions like this post here. IDC what other people prefer with ship shit, that’s their problem and not mine. I am not gonna bother them about it. So don’t bother ME about it.

sneaking in a little update via my for rent gameplay. i know it may not seem like i've been MIA with my stupidly long queue and all, but i haven't been playing the game or spending much time here on tumblr lately. the holidays were really busy and then a couple of my friends flew across the country to stay over for a week. all of that, AND my husband told me about a sale and influenced me to upgrade my PC. So he built me a semi-new rig (which he enjoyed very much) which runs my game beautifully (which I enjoy very much)!

unfortunately, i've had to go through the process of reinstalling the game, reshade, PS, and my plug-ins just so i could get back into the swing of things in terms of editing and posting my gameplay. mods are updated but i have to figure out if i can find my old MCCC settings or if i have to reconfigure everything again. also, i could've sworn i backed up everything but there are some presets, actions, and even cc that have gone missing, so i've been slowly trying to replace what i can. it's been a process, friends!! very glad to have this new PC but it feels like a real-life move where you've got to pack, unpack, and "buy" all sorts of new stuff.

As I've said on my new blog, I'm retiring from Tumblr. However, I still have a bunch of prints and charms in storage that probably won't see the light of day again. As my Etsy Store has been pretty MIA ever since Crunchyroll struck me. And I'm also not feeling like putting it all back up again.

I don't want neither the prints nor the charms to just rot away and collect dust or just throw them away, there's too much effort that went into them.

the idea I had was, packing up some prints, like a random 5-6 of all I have, pack them up and send them to anyone who wants some.

Lady C Tea Christmas Eve 2024 (The "Meghan is a Nightmare Across Many Continents" Edition - a few nuggets paraphrased by me) Greetings from Castle Goring,I was told something by someone who shall remain rather opaque.  This person was on the delegation of Harry and Meghan’s Colombia trip.  Oh my, it is so delicious to be told something that everyone suspected.  I was told Harry was fine.  Nobody complained about him.  I was told that Meghan is a living nightmare.  She was demanding.  She was abrasive.  She didn’t want to interact with people beyond the photo ops, including the children.  She had to be pressured to earn her keep.  She was a nightmare to such an extent that Vice President Marquez stormed off and said she wanted nothing to do with Meghan.  She felt Meghan was running up expenses and not living up to her end of the bargain.  VP Marquez wanted Meghan there as a woman of color and wanted Meghan to help press that agenda.  VP Marquez now realized her judgement was poor to have anything to do with Meghan. And now my bongo bongo drums are beating in a different direction.  Netflix wants to dump them.  They are trying to find a way to dump them that will save face, save Ted Sarandos’ face, and stop any more money being spent on them.  Evidently, ARO is not impressing them.  A top executive says they are losers and Meghan is a witch with a B.  I have also been given another bit of news. Lady C applauds the NYPD for mocking Harry.  She says Harry is an idiot to believe he was in a high speed car chase near Times Square.Lady C, why didn’t Netflix do any advertising for POLO?  Do you think Netflix wanted it to flop so they could get out of their contract?  Your reasoning is very interesting.  Netflix did not promote POLO at all.  I don’t think Netflix wanted it to flop but early on realized they had a flop on their hands.  I understand that Netflix cannot stand Meghan and find her very difficult to work with.  They think Harry is stupid and stubborn.    They would have loved to have a continuing relationship with Harry and Meghan, especially if they had remained Their Royal Highnesses, but they loathe Meghan in particular.    They have tarnished their own brand.  They have revealed themselves to be uninteresting and unpopular.  It will be interesting to see how Netflix extricate themselves.  If they can dump Harry and Meghan, they will do it.  If they can’t, they will ease them out.  Before they even made a program with Netflix, they showed themselves to be unreliable partners because Netflix watched Harry and Meghan give away content to Oprah.  I gather Oprah paid money to them, maybe through Archewell.Lady C, I’ve been noticing that the Daily Mail seems to be bending over backwards lately for Meghan.  They seem to be absolving her of blame for anything.  They say the trouble started when Princess Michael wore the blackamoor brooch.  Isn’t it interesting how these stories seem to be regurgitated.  Princess Michael wore a moretto veneziano which is a sign of racial inclusiveness, not racial exclusivity.  Princess Michael said she was sorry if her brooch caused offense, not that she was sorry.  I don’t think she should have done it.  She should have explained the history of her brooch and that anything otherwise was misunderstood.  This is all rubbish.  Meghan always playing the race card.Toodles Sinners!PS…Nothing new from Lady C but I thought I would post anyway.
