Tentaremos avisar!
Desfrutade con moderación!
La Chute de la maison Usher (Jean Epstein, 1928)
Tumblr media
Comezamos con cinema silente: unha etérea e poética adaptación do conto de Edgar A. Poe por parte do cineasta Jean Epstein, que se recrea na atmosfera de sono e pesadelo para reescribir esta historia, un dos piares fundacionais do xénero das casas encantadas.
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (Joseph L. Mankiewicz, 1947)
Tumblr media
The innocents (Jack Clayton, 1961)
Tumblr media
Tw: Insinúase abuso e hai violencia, relacionado con crianzas. Bastante dura, pero nada explícita.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Jim Sharman, 1975)
Tumblr media
Hausu (Nobuhiko Obayashi, 1977)
Tumblr media
Nobuhiko Obayashi pasouse o cinema con este filme de terror totalmente over-the-top, que tamén parte da parodia do xénero do horror para contarnos unha fábula pantasmal moito máis profunda do que parece nunha primeira impresión. A casa encantada é un personaxe propio neste filme caleidoscópico e bastante autoconsciente
Tw: Hai gore, hai maxia, hai yokais.

Sometimes its common that some films comes out without my knowledge, particularly non-Hollywood English language films. This British film was about a wealthy couple from the New York, especially the husband who tries his best to fulfill his seriously ill wife’s dream to be an opera singer. The problem is she’s not any good. Not just him, but everybody who is close to them and once laughed at her, try to understand them and give their support. But not all the occasion seems to remain the same. So on one such a big event, the disaster strikes and how it affects the couple is the rest of the tale to disclose. A very surprising film. I thought it was just a comedy like it brings small smiles on our face, but I laughed out loud on many occasions. This is definitely a right time, because I felt like it was a music and cinematic version of the American presidential candidate Don Trump. Yep, there not much difference, but still this ...

I won't do anything too explicit but otherwise what would y'all like me to do? 👀
I draw fanart; usually of kids' cartoons, games, & anime, but sometimes other stuff like ouat.
I have my own ocs & characters from personal projects like Unti & Jack.
I do a lot of cosplay- especially closet cosplays.
The wigs I currently have are:
Venti, Kaveh, Hu Tao, short black wig (used for MAwS!Lois Lane & T3R3Z1 PYROP3 but probably a Keith Kogane wig originally lol) & a short purple wig (I use for Uzi Doorman but it was probably meant for Touka Kirishima)
I have a Chūya wig but that's...just my hair now???
Also a bunch of others idk if I can dig them out but:
long navy blue (Princess Luna), rainbow (Rainbow Dash! Shocking! 😱), & a short blue wig (DJ Pon-3/Vinyl Scratch)
I am genderflux but usually a masc presenting kinda enby guy? So if I do an old cosplay again it'll probably be a more masc/gender neutral looking version.
I sing a bunch, I'm just not a professional.
I did recently do a super quick amateur cover of Francis Forever by Mitski that's on the server but idk if I'll post that.
Happier Than Ever, Sarcasm, Right Now, Obsolete, What You Know, Golden Days, & pretty much any Christina Perri song are a couple examples of songs I think I can sing pretty well. 👍
As for voicing I'm currently practicing my own rendition of Chūya Nakahara, but otherwise here's a list I made a while back of some impressions & voices I do for fun.
A majority of the mlpfim ensemble
Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Starlight Glimmer
Princess Celestia, Nightmare Moon, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Granny Smith, Maud Pie, Ocellus, Mrs. Cup Cake (Chiffon Swirl), Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, Sonata Dusk, Trixie, Cheerilee
Goldie Delicious, Twist, Lightning Dust, Pipsqueak, Photo Finish, Cherry Jubilee, Ms. Harshwhinny, Octavia Melody, Vinyl Scratch (that's just my voice lol), BonBon/Sweetie Drops, Derpy Hooves, etc...
Alphys, Undyne, my own take on Chara, Toriel, Susie, etc...
Uzi Doorman,
Mommy Longlegs,
Kyouka Izumi,
Venti, Eula, Hu Tao
My own take on Terezi Pyrope, Edgar Valden, & Basil from Omori
(CW for Danganronpa)
A couple Danganronpa characters
Tōko Fukawa, (spoiler character iykyk), Sayaka Maizono, Chihiro Fujisaki, Junko Enoshima
Chiaki Nanami, Sonia Nevermind, Hiyoko Saionji, Mikan Tsumiki, Usami
Komaru Naegi, Monaca, Kotoko Utsugi, Shirokuma

Charlize Theron has some news for THE OLD GUARD fans.
Tumblr media
I love how Marc Malkin pointed out that Immortal Husbands Joe and Nicky (Marwan Kenzari and Luca Marinelli) are returning.
Tumblr media
As if they were going to have a sequel without them!
Tumblr media
I just realized I haven’t looked up anything about Luca Marinelli in some time because I’ve been caught up with Ethan Torchio of  Måneskin.
Tumblr media
I guess I can only obsess over one Italian at a time.
Tumblr media
- Italian fans will see Luca in December in the delayed DIABOLIK, which is already rumored to have a sequel lined up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Elsewhere in the same blurb you’ll see that Vin Diesel is hoping to ride this Fast and Furious franchise until the wheels come off. He’s developing a spinoff for Theron’s Cipher who is in “F9″, along with virtually everyone else who has ever appeared in the film series. Not a complaint, actually. I love it when films remember their own history and reaches back. “F9″ is still dumb as hell, but it is great fun after having set out a year due to a global Pon de Replay.
And the great thing about Theron playing Cipher in the “Fast and Furious” franchise means she is connected to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who is currently filming BLACK ADAM with Theron’s THE OLD GUARD costar Marwan Kenzari.
Tumblr media
Until BLACK ADAM lights up the sky, we will be able to set sail with Johnson on July 30th (pushed from October 2019, then July 24, 2020) with Disney’s THE JUNGLE CRUISE. The film, also starring Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall, Edgar Ramirez, Paul Giamatti and Jesse Plemons.

- You can see Jack Whitehall - or not - in CLIFFORD THE BIG RED(dish) DOG.

Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra in Anchors Aweigh (George Sidney, 1945) Cast: Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Kathryn Grayson, José Iturbi, Dean Stockwell, Pamela Britton, Rags Ragland, Billy Gilbert, Henry O'Neill, Carlos Ramirez, Edgar Kennedy, Grady Sutton, Leon Ames, Sharon McManus. Screenplay: Isobel Lennart, Natalie Marcin. Cinematography: Charles P. Boyle, Robert H. Planck. Art direction: Randall Duell, Cedric Gibbons. Film editing: Adrienne Fazan. Music: George Stoll. Anchors Aweigh is not in the top tier of MGM musicals. It doesn't have the smooth integration of story with music found in Vincente Minnelli's Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) and An American in Paris (1951) or Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly's Singin' in the Rain (1952). What it does have is Kelly in his breakthrough film, blazing with his uniquely muscular dancing style in some great set pieces, not only the famously beloved sequence in which he dances with Jerry the Mouse, but also in the charming "Mexican Hat Dance" with little Sharon McManus and the spectacular "La Cumparsita" that has him doing stunt leaps and swinging from a curtain to a balcony occupied by Kathryn Grayson. Kelly did the choreography for these numbers, and they depend heavily on long takes that show the dancing to best advantage. But the film also has Frank Sinatra, still in his skinny idol-of-the-bobby-soxers phase, which earned him top billing -- Grayson is billed second and Kelly third. He's in fine voice, and the phrasing that would make him one of the best singers who ever lived is already in evidence; he was also coached by Kelly into being a more-than-passable dancing partner. Unfortunately, the film also has Grayson, the least charming and talented of the run of Hollywood sopranos that began with Jeanette MacDonald and encompassed singers like Grace Moore, Lily Pons, and Deanna Durbin before fizzling out with Jane Powell. Plus there's José Iturbi, the pianist and conductor whose movie stardom remains a mystery (at least to me); he hashes up the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in a number shot at the Hollywood Bowl where he's accompanied by a stage full of young pianists. The plot, such as it is, hangs on Kelly and Sinatra getting Grayson, with whom both have fallen in love, an audition with Iturbi at MGM and then figuring out which of them will get Grayson. The whole thing unaccountably earned an Oscar nomination for best picture, but it also landed Kelly his only nomination as best actor. It was also nominated for cinematography and for Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn's song "I Fall in Love Too Easily," which Sinatra introduced, and it won for George Stoll's scoring.

Deportivo Alaves - Real Madrid 1:4
Tumblr media
Good start of the season, very effective and very comfortable win. Great debut from Alaba.
Deportivo Alaves started the match really well, they had few good chances, but couldn’t finish them off. Real Madrid was also attacking, Bale had few shots from outside the box, but none of them were accurate.
The second half started with an amazing action from Bale, Lucas, Hazard and Benzema. Hazard flicked the ball perfectly from Lucas’ flat cross onto Benzema’s volley.
Few minutes later Real Madrid started a corner with a short pass, which then came back to Modric, who crossed it to Nacho who stretched out and volleyed the ball into the net.
Benzema’s 2nd goal came from Valverde’s amazing run through the whole pitch. Benzema’s first shot got blocked, but the second chipped Pacheco and one of Alaves’ defenders.
In the 64th minute Militao made a mistake and made a too light pass to Courtois, who needed to go into one of Alaves’ attackers and gave out a penalty. Joselu scored from the penalty spot.
After that Real was rather concentrating on keeping possession. Vinicius, Rodrygo, Jovic, Isco and Asensio came in for Hazard, Bale, Benzema, Modric and Valverde respectively. Vinicius had few good actions down the left flank. In the 93rd minute he got a great cross from Alaba and headed the ball into Pacheco’s goal.
scorers: 0:1, Benzema 48′
0:2, Nacho 56′
0:3, Benzema 62′
1:3, Joselu (p) 65′

Deportivo Alves: Pacheco; Martin, Laguardia, Lejeune, Duarte; Pons (59′ Loum), Pina (83′ Moya), Manu Garcia (59′ Guidetti), Rioja (68′ Ivan Martin); Edgar (68′ Pellistri), Joselu

The Advance of the Weird Tale, by S.T. Joshi, Sarnath Press, 2020. Info: amazon.com.
For decades, S.T. Joshi has been a leading critic of horror and supernatural fiction. In this new collection of his miscellaneous essays, Joshi addresses not only the broader issues relating to weird fiction but also many of the key writers in the field over the past century or more. Joshi uses his expertise in classical literature to trace the supernatural in Greek and Latin literature, and also presents overviews of such central motifs as the ghost story and the haunted house. Among the writers of weird fiction’s “golden age” (c. 1880–1940), Joshi probes the work of Ambrose Bierce, Arthur Machen, Algernon Blackwood, and others. H.P. Lovecraft has long been a central focus of Joshi’s scholarship, and he presents several trenchant articles here: Lovecraft’s relations to Gothic fiction and to Edgar Allan Poe; his landmark essay, “Supernatural Horror in Literature”; and his influence on Fritz Leiber, August Derleth, and others. Joshi is also well versed in contemporary weird fiction, as his essays on Ramsey Campbell, W.H. Pugmire, Caitlín R. Kiernan, and others demonstrate. In all, this volume displays Joshi’s critical acuity in the entire realm of the weird in literature.
