Seven Several Sentences Sunday
I was tagged by @alliaskisthepossibilityoflove and I'm about to work a ten-hour shift so before that hits, have a snippet!
“It’s not about money,” Eddie mutters. Buck turns to him, folding himself like origami on his chair. “Okay, what’s really going on here?” “Going on?” “Don’t play me for a fool, Imbolc. I know when something’s up with you. Why do you want to avoid the mountain pass?” Buck pauses, lets the silence linger. “You can talk to me. It’s okay.” He remembers when they’d stopped by his parents’ house in El Paso, and things had been tense. Not enough that it was a stilted dinner, but enough that Hen and Buck had picked up on it. Buck had cornered him at the bathroom afterwards, and Eddie’d told him the truth: it was the first time he’d seen them since they’d tried to take his son. “Listen to me,” Buck had whispered, his voice completely devoid of the softness that usually infused it. “They will never take Chris from you. Ever.” I know, Eddie had thought. They can’t, now, because I gave him to you. Buck’s never said that he wished Eddie had told him sooner. But he still thinks it was unfair, in retrospect, to let Buck wade into that without knowing the truth. If he could go back in time, he’d tell Buck before. He’d let himself bask in Buck’s righteous, protective fury. And because this isn’t real life—because this is D&D—he can do that. He can be selfish.
You are all SO lucky I love you and shared a Buddie fic and not my rarepair that's rotating around in my head like a rotisserie chicken.
When Bobby said that D&D could be a bit of wish fulfillment this isn't exactly what he meant...
Tagging @princessfbi and anyone else, again, no idea who's got something going on.

any cosmo girl would have known
“Oh she did it for sure.”
“Steve!”
“Ten bucks, Bobert, don't give me that look last time we agreed double or nothing.”
“No,” Nancy insists. “This isn't Murder, She Wrote or Scooby-Doo or Columbo-”
“You saw who did it in Columbo at the beginning,” Eddie reminds.
“I know it's an awful show.”
Robin and Steve remain in sync enough to each get a hand on his shoulder to keep him from getting on the coffee table to defend the only good cop show in existence.
“I'm only pointing out,” she rewinds the VHS taking it back the two or three minutes they'd talked over before stopping it completely, “that this is a movie, not a drama with a repeated format that Steve can pattern recognition into predicting.”
“You haven't seen it already, right?” Robin asks. “The one rule of Monthly Middle-Aged Movie Night is you have to pick a movie none of us have seen.”
“No, I haven't seen it already. If you'll all remember when I asked you each to go see it with me I got,” he points to each of them in turn. “‘Wouldn't you rather see Tomb Raider?’ from double VHS, prestige cinephile and ‘That's too much pink for me, baby, you know I have that intolerance, maybe Rob or Nance will go?’ from my emo-isn’t-a-phase husband. And ‘I'm a little busy with this new story, Steve,’ from Nancy, the only one of you with a real excuse.”
“Some feminist you are, Birdie.”
“I don't want to hear it from you. I watched two of the blandest men alive pursue Renee Zellweger while the screen writers tried to convince us she was homely because you ‘forgot’ you had band practice.”
“You said you liked it!”
“It grew on me, but sometimes you just want to see a woman in a tank top. And I won't be shamed by the same man who cried during Beauty and the Beast.”
“I went with my sweet baby Lucy Joan, you miserable hag,” Eddie says, “and they turned that hot werewolf into a boring looking man.”
“You weren't into that? Look at who-”
“Why am I getting made fun of? Can we finish the movie?”
“No, I'm not going to let this be another Sixth Sense situation,” Nancy says, holding the remote hostage, she knows no one will try to take it from her.
“Ugh don't even bring that up,” Eddie groans, “Dustin still mentions it in at least one letter a year.”
Nancy nods, prim and proper, “Exactly, so tell us right now why you think she did it, then we'll play it again.”
“Chutney, the daughter,” Steve corrects, “have you even been paying attention? Her hair's permed.”
“And press play,” Eddie shouts.
“No,” Robin smacks his hands as he makes his ballsy play to reach around her for the remote. “Show your work, Dingus, even I didn't follow that one.”
“I don't always like the movies everyone else picks but I at least watch them. Her hair is permed, she said she was in the shower. She would have had to have been washing her hair if she didn't hear the gunshot and she has a perm.”
“You can wash your hair with a perm,” Nancy points out.
“You would know.” Eddie snarks, fingering the ends of his own hair.
“You can't wash a fresh perm, you'll fuck up the ammonium thioglycolate. Then you're out forty bucks and you've got limp hair. She killed her dad and lied about being in the shower.”
“Press play,” Eddie decrees again, leaning in close to Steve's side to purr, “it's pretty sexy when you go all hair care detective.”
His hand starts to slip below the blanket. “This is how we ended up with Lucy in the first place,” Steve reminds him, just under the sounds of the courtroom drama picking back up. It doesn’t stop Eddie’s hand from wandering until the movie’s climax starts getting closer, and Eddie’s attention is captured just like Robin’s and Nancy’s.
“Unbelievable,” Robin says, when Elle cites the perm salt.
“Never again,” Nancy swears, when Chutney screams her confession.
“Lucy’s been asking for a brother or sister,” Eddie flirts, as Elle reveals that any good Cosmo girl could have solved it.
No more movies with mysteries or twist endings for a while, they all agree, Robin can’t afford to keep betting against Steve.

Weekly Recap | January 1st-7th 2024
First rec of 2024! Happy New Year everyone! I hope it's a good one!
(damn, can you tell I was off from work? this rec is long af 😅 I know it's a bit late but once I got done I just wanted to yeet it off my drafts asap)
Complete
🔥 All My Shattered Oaths by letmetellyouaboutmyfeels/ @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels (Vampires AU | 107K | Explicit): Eddie wants to stay away from his family’s legacy and give his son a normal life. Buck’s desperate to find a way to get over the love he lost. Fate has other plans for both of them.
🔥 a blaze in the dark by woodchoc_magnum/ @woodchoc-magnum (Post-S6, Eddie Coming Out | 117K | Explicit): Set post-Season 6, where Buck has inadvertently sacrificed his friendship with Eddie in order to focus on his new relationship with Natalia, and is shocked when Eddie comes out to the team and subsequently reveals that he is dating a guy.
i'm down on my knees (i wanna take you there) by burnthatbridge/ @burnthatbridge (PWP, Glory Hole | 5K | Explicit): Buck is… a little drunk. So, he honestly thinks, when he first spots it, after stumbling into the stall, clumsily undoing his fly, and taking a very needed leak, that he’s seeing things. It takes him reaching out — with a hand he was already going to wash and probably should doubly do so now — and sticking a finger through it to convince him that the sight hasn’t been fabricated by his inebriated brain. It’s real. It’s a glory hole. His first thought is, huh; his second is, I have got to show Eddie.
making love to the flashes by sibylsleaves/ @sibylsleaves (PWP, Hot Firefighter Calendar | 11K | Explicit): When Buck had told them all the Hot Days, Smoldering Nights, Men of the LAFD Wall Calendar had selected him to represent the 118 for the month of July, Eddie hadn’t thought much of it. He’d congratulated him with a clap on the shoulder, laughed along with Hen, Chim, and Bobby’s good-natured teasing, and that had been that. Well, Eddie certainly isn’t laughing now.
with a bird at your door by @sibylsleaves (S6, Getting Together | 3K | General): Eddie starts spending all his time with Buck. Which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that Buck is in love with him.
we're gonna need some land between our bodies by @sibylsleaves (Post-Poker Date | 9K | Explicit): or, Buck and Eddie can't fuck yet (four times Buck and Eddie try to define the relationship and the one time they do)
my heart's a secret (tell me you'll keep it) by @sibylsleaves (Getting Together | 5K | Teen): Or, Buck tells Chimney a secret. This proves to be a mistake.
the winner takes it all (the loser has to fall) by @burnthatbridge (Getting Together | 4K | Teen): Buck and Lucy compete to see who's the better kisser. Eddie somehow finds himself the judge. (Part 1 of winner takes all)
the winner takes all (of me) by @burnthatbridge (PWP, Buck/Eddie/Lucy | 4K | Explicit): An alternative ending to Buck and Lucy's kissing competition. (Part 2 of winner takes all)
Calling (So You'll Answer) by Princessfbi / @princessfbi (Angst, Hurt Buck | 29K | Mature | Warning: Rape/Non-Con): “Buck? Did you drunk dial me?” Eddie did not envy Buck’s headache in the morning. He fought back the urge to smile at the thought of Buck, hungover and pouting with his curls in wild form on his head and his hands twisting and knotting in his favorite hoodie for the comfort the texture brought him. “Can you come take me h-home?” Buck asked, his voice sounding so painfully young. “I don’t …feel good.”
Smoke and Ashes Brushed Off with Ink by @princessfbi (Tattoo Artist Eddie AU | 18K | Mature): Tattoo Artist!Eddie Diaz AU inspired by the tumblr thread about praise kink discovery when getting a tattoo.
i'll lie awake for you by diazbegins/ @evanbegins (Married Buddie, PWP | 8K | Explicit): Or: Buck and Eddie, newly-weds, spend their well-deserved time alone.
I'd Wait Here Forever by @princessfbi (Angst, Stalker | 21K | Mature | Warning: Rape/Non-Con): “Come on. You and me could—” Buck caught Chimney moving to intervene between them but the words were already falling past Buck’s lips before he even realized he was speaking. “I have a boyfriend.” Buck stopped when he registered the words. So, did Chimney before he shot Buck a look over his shoulder like Buck had grown a second head. Probably because, like Buck, Chimney knew that Buck did not have a boyfriend. In fact, he’d been single for a painfully long time since he and Taylor split up. Single and probably very obviously hung up on his best friend who didn’t seem to notice the way Buck would throw himself into oncoming traffic if Eddie asked.
Tear Me to Pieces; Skin to Bone by @princessfbi (Undercover Mission, kidnapping | 22K | Teen | Warning: Violence): Bobby wasn’t comfortable with the LAPD wanting to use Buck as bait. Because that’s exactly what Buck would be: bait. Or: The LAPD want to borrow Buck for an undercover mission to hunt down a serial killer. No one is thrilled.
pink and black and blue by devirnis/ @devirnis (Getting Together | 1,5K | Teen): “Hey!” Buck calls. Eddie spares himself a moment to briefly entertain the idea of fleeing out the back, but knows it would ultimately be pointless. His truck is in the driveway so Buck knows he’s home, and they’re on shift together in two days and there’s no way his bruises will be gone by then, no matter how much he ices them. “In the kitchen,” Eddie answers resignedly. (Bad Things Happen Bingo: Black Eye)
on sleep and unspoken things by evcndiaz/ @evcndiaz (Post-S4 | 2K | Not Rated): “You reached out for me. On that day. You tried to touch me.” The words sink into the silence between them. He did, didn't he? Eddie doesn't remember much from the shooting—only pain, and fear, and screaming (his own and so many others), and the vague echo of Buck’s voice—but he remembers that.
in red blue green by hammersmiths/ @henswilsons (Documentary | 11K | Teen): The commissioner signs off on a workplace documentary set in the 118 to better community attitudes towards the fire department. Unfortunately, whatever is going on between Firefighters Buckley and Diaz is a much more interesting story.
with blood in my nose by @henswilsons (Canon Divergent, S4E14: Survivors | 9K | Teen): or, Buck is the one who gets shot instead of Eddie.
let me know you (bedhead and morning breath) by @burnthatbridge (Post-Lightning | 6K | Explicit): Buck hasn't gotten off since the lightning strike. Eddie watches him do something about it.
sometimes an onion really is just an onion (and that’s all there is to it) by snarkymuch / @snarkythewoecrow (Post-Grocery Store Argument | 5K | Teen): Buck wanted fajitas, so he went to the store for the sweet onions he needed, but he got the wrong kind because he unexpectedly ran into the team, which had nothing to do with why he was crying in his kitchen--obviously, the shitty onions were to blame. And his day just gets worse from there--as he ends up fileting off a strip of skin, bleeding everywhere, then accidentally hitting his talk-to-text and sending a ramble he never meant anyone to hear to the last person on earth to care: Eddie.
i find you in everything (but its here you find yourself) by withmeornotatall/ @chronicowboy (Post-S6, Getting Together | 3K | Teen): Buck takes another sig of beer, "she left." "Sorry, man, I know you liked her. Guess where most people are scared of death, a death doula is scared of life." "Wow, that's actually pretty poignant," Buck says. "Didn't know you had it in you." Eddie just rolls his eyes. "Its weird, though, her being scared off by a donor baby." Eddie frowns over at him. "Chris didn't freak her out?"
Paper Rings by buckleyblueyes (orphan_account) (Canon Divergent, S4 | 6K | Teen): Maddie went quiet for a moment, looking at him not with pity, but instead with empathy, and shared sadness. “So. What did you find, then?” “An engagement ring.” The words weighed heavy on his tongue. “He’s going to propose to Ana.”
Burn a bridge, learn how to swim by WatermelonShots (AvocadosUnderTheEaves) / @applesorcery (Getting Together | 13K | Mature): In which there is some unexpected making out, some pining, one third of an existential crisis and a lot of unhelpful advice. Not necessarily in that order. (Part 1 of Burn a bridge, learn how to swim)
Can't cross the sea just standing there by WatermelonShots (AvocadosUnderTheEaves)/ @applesorcery (Established Buddie, PWP | 7K | Explicit): In which there are sleepovers and snakes and some jealousy. (But probably not the kind you think.) (Part 2 of Burn a bridge, learn how to swim)
tell me how it feels (say it ain't so) by Iover_of_mine (I_almost_do)1 @lover-of-mine (Post-S6, Getting Together | 8K | Teen): Eddie hears Natalia saying Buck's death was cool and things spiral out of control from there.
Arm Candy by @princessfbi (Poker Date spec | 8K | General): “Act cool.” Buck shivered at the rumble of Eddie’s voice. “I think I got us in on the game.” Act cool? Act cool! How was Buck was supposed to act cool when he had Eddie dressed like sin parading Buck around like— Buck choked on his tongue as he finally realized what Eddie was doing and why apparently everyone had been so blasé about Buck going undercover after treating him like he was made of glass for weeks. “Am I the arm candy?” Eddie was damningly silent.
empty, broken, lonely, hoping by DaniWib/ @daniwib (Post-S6, Presumed Dead | 44K | Mature): Eddie's world crumbles when Buck’s apartment building becomes engulfed in a cataclysmic seven-alarm fire, resulting in a devastating mass casualty event. Amidst the chaos, Eddie and the rest of the 118 grapple with the heart-wrenching belief that both Buck and Christopher have met a tragic fate within the merciless inferno.
i lit the match, the firemen can do the rest by honestlydarkprincess / @honestlydarkprincess (Post-S6, PWP | 6K | Explicit): Or, the one where Eddie is pining and decides to drive over to Buck's. He doesn't expect to walk in on friends-with-benefits Buck and Natalia and he definitely doesn't expect the night to end with him getting everything he's ever wanted with Buck.
The Comfort of Your Hands by Spotsandsocks/ @spotsandsocks (Getting Together | 3K | Teen): Buck accidentally starts running his fingers through Eddie’s hair. Eddie lets him and things slowly move towards something special.
unfold me (tell me you love me) by extasiswings/ @extasiswings (S4, Love confession | 2K | Teen): Eddie goes on a date and has some realizations about what he really wants
the measuring contest by ColorMeParanoid/ @color-me-paranoid (9-1-1 LS S2E3: Hold the Line | 2K | Teen): Hen snorted from her own cot. “Trust me, guys. This isn’t the kind of measuring contest you want to play with Buck because you will lose.” But, comparing scars and exchanging crazy stories when meeting other people in your profession was basically a rite of passage so of course they didn’t take her warning seriously. It became a challenge instead and Eddie settled in for the show.
live while we're young by ashavahishta / @ashavahishta (De-Aging | 5K | General): Or: Some wonky magic leaves the firefam to take care of a tiny Buck for a few days. He's really, unfairly cute.
Radio Silence by madamewriterofwrongs/ @madamewriterofwrongs (Hurt Buck | 9K | Mature): Bobby was going to have a long talk with him about his self-sacrificing habits. For now, he kept his words calm and authoritative; for both their sakes. “None of that, you just hold still. Are you injured?” There was silence. Around him, the paramedics and firefighters of the 118 waited with bated breath. “Pretty bad.” There was little humor in his voice, though they could hear him trying. “My head. And uh, hahaha,” his laughter came as a gust of air. “I’ve been impaled?”
Buck Is My Warrior by elisela/ @elisela (Fluff | 5K | General): “We’ll be filming a special edition of American Ninja Warrior,” Troy announces after the introduction to the current contestant ends, “focused on our brave first responders. Go to our website to find out more details and how to submit your videos.” Oh. “Buddy,” Eddie says, “I don’t really know if that’s my thing.” Christopher looks at him, then says, “I want to nominate Buck.”
The Badass Background of one Evan Buckley series by Onlymystory / @theallandthemoreofit (Navy SEAL Buck | 5 works | 32K | Complete):
A Six Minute Man (Hostage | 3K | Teen): Or the one where Buck's secret background as a Navy SEAL comes in really handy in a hostage situation. Buck Begins (Backstory | 1K | Mature): When Evan Buckley Spencer is five years old, he wants to be a firefighter. They save people he says. He’s going to be one someday. One of the Good Guys (Revenge | 3K | Mature): Eddie says “You find every single person that hurt our son and you burn them to the ground.” - The Moscow Rules are simple. “Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time is enemy action."
With A Little Help From My Friends by @extasiswings (PTA Eddie | 3K | Teen): Eddie makes friends outside of work and realizes that Buck might not, in fact, be just a friend
(Not) Under the Mistletoe by Tizniz / @tizniz (Christmas | 2K | Not Rated): Buck is definitely not avoiding Eddie at the Christmas party where mistletoe is everywhere.
Flash Forward by @daniwib (Different First Meeting | 3K | Explicit): The last thing Eddie remembered was pressing the tiny, blood smeared photograph of Christopher to his trembling lips while huddled behind rocks, hiding from the insurgent's attack. The next thing he knew was when he woke up, naked, with a muscular body on top of him. OR: Eddie has a flash forward when he gets shot during his last tour.
WIP
and we are homeward bound by glorious_spoon/ @glorious-spoon (established Buddie | 1/3 | 3K | Explicit): "Okay," Buck says finally, muffled. He rubs his face against Eddie's shirt again. "You promise you're not going to dump me if he smashes a salad bowl over this?" "I promise I will not dump you if our kid has a tantrum about us finally getting our act together," Eddie recites solemnly. Buck laughs against his shoulder and finally pulls back. Or: Buck and Eddie get around to telling the people they love that they're together. (sequel to Something Dumb to Do)
Kiss Me Once Cause You Know I Had A Long Night by I_still_dont_understand_13 / @sherlockcrossing (Prompt collection | 21/? | 14K | Teen): 100 kiss prompts.
Chapter 21. 10. Surprise kisses, in which your lover wasn't prepared but responds immediately
🔥 Precious & Fragile Things by Daisies_and_Briars/ @cal-daisies-and-briars (Small Miracles AU, Angel Buck | 10/? | 25K | Teen): Buck is the Fallen Angel of Petty Temptation, who has been tasked with tempting human Eddie Diaz to sin and enjoy life, but just a little. He thinks the job will be easy - get in, get out, go back to Peru to continue messing around with eternity. But when Buck arrives in Los Angeles, he finds Eddie is harder to tempt than expected, and more compelling than Buck had hoped.
and if i bleed (you'll be the last to know) by diazchristopher/ @captain-hen (Canon Divergent Season 6, Friends with Benefits | 2/18 | 9K | Explicit): or, an alternate look at season 6 where buck and eddie have been casually sleeping together since before the beginning of the season. somehow, this changes both everything and nothing at all.
🔥 Things We're All Too Young to Know by @cal-daisies-and-briars (Canon, S1 through S6 | 104/? | 283K | Mature): This is a love story. Even if it doesn’t always look like it. Even if it doesn’t always feel like it. A look back on Eddie and Buck's lives up to now, and what led them to each other, interpreted from the current 9-1-1 canon.
Re-Read
🔥 the weekly bet (but the forever kind) by theleftboobgrabber (Post S3E15 | 49K | Explicit): When the squad bets on how long it will take for Buck and Abby to get back together when she comes back to LA, Eddie is forced to reconsider keeping his feelings for Buck a secret.
🔥 come out to the sea, my love by allyasavedtheday/ @littlespoonevan (Canon Divergent - Tsunami | 8K | Teen): Tsunami au in which the 118 find out about Buck and Chris being stranded on top of the ladder truck and come to rescue them before they get separated.
🔥 Your Scars and Your Lonely Heart by Taste_is_Sweet (Sentinels AU, Tsunami | 82K | Teen): Clara Williams just wanted to visit Pacific Park during her layover in Los Angeles. She never expected to find a young, exceptional Sentinel dying for lack of a bond. Actually, what she really never expected was a tsunami, or the same Sentinel to save her life. But Clara's a Guide, so now she's on a mission to keep Evan "Buck" Buckley alive until she can get him to Eddie Diaz, the Guide who should have bonded with him, but didn't. Because Clara can't bond with Buck, no matter how much she wants to. There's just one problem: Buck's convinced Eddie doesn't want him, and he might not survive long enough to find out the truth.
i (for)get you by withmeornotatall/ @chronicowboy (Temporary Amnesia | 6K | General): buck hits his head, forgets the past month and suddenly eddie has a secret girlfriend... right?
you're my whole house by hammersmiths / @henswilsons (Getting Together, PTA Eddie | 12K | Teen): Eddie shrugs. “Christopher mentioned to Daniel that Buck and I are partners. I mean, sure, it’s a little weird that she invited him over as well, but—” “Partners,” Hen interrupts, “like work partners?” Eddie and Buck glance at each other. “Uh, yeah?” Eddie says. “What other type of partner?” Hen stares at them for a moment, before she bursts out laughing. “You dumbasses. She thinks you’re together.” or, Eddie joins the PTA.
I can't love you any more (than I do now) by wikiangela/ @wikiangela (Didn't Know They Were Dating | 2K | General): Eddie's pretty sure he and Buck are dating and kind of living together. Neither acknowledges it, until Eddie finally does.
Tell me where you wanna go by allyasavedtheday/ @littlespoonevan (Post-S6E11: In A Flash | 4K | Teen): Buck wakes up from his coma and Eddie offers him a passenger seat and a couch and a home.
🔥 Autocowrecked by HMSLusitania/ @hmslusitania (Miscommunication | 2K | Teen): Eddie is never, ever using the talk-to-text function on his phone. Ever again.

The demons got to me... Anyways here's the first snipp of a 911 x Psych crossover lmfao
"A psychic detective?" Eddie's unconvinced voice rings out in the station's kitchen. "Yeah!" Buck replies, chipper as ever as he puts together a PBJ sandwich. "The amount of cases he's solved is crazy. And—! He even uncovered a dinosaur skeleton. I've been meaning to drive to Santa Barbara to see it. Maybe I'll take Christopher—” "A psychic detective," Eddie repeats, having barely processed anything else Buck had said. He chuckles. “You can't—you can't seriously think this is real.” “Eddie, he's been working with the SBPD for years. Don't you think if he was a fake they would've found out by now?” Buck asks, and his voice sounds so genuine Eddie kind of wants to cry. “Buck. Buck. Magic isn't real. There is no way that he's actually psychic. It's a publicity stunt! Makes the SBPD stand out or something.” “Just you wait and see Eds. Once you meet him, you'll have to believe it.” Buck says, pointing at Eddie with the most obnoxious grin on his face. Eddie can't help but feel fond at the sight of it. Sure Buck’s an idiot, but at least he's a cute one. Eddie gives up on having this argument with him. No matter what Buck says, he won't be convinced. They couldn't convince him with the jinxes (although some small part of him is still slightly freaked out about that) and they won't convince him with this psychic detective, not even if he's the most sophisticated all-knowing person ever. ~*~ “Gus, how many burritos do you think I can fit in my mouth? My money's on six, but maybe if I shove them in horizontally… He reaches over to grab the cooler from beside Gus in the back seat, but Jules slaps his hand away. “Shawn, seriously? Those burritos are for everyone.” Shawn huffs, crossing his arms with a pout. “Yeah well, we've been in this car for hours, and I'm starving to death.” “It's been an hour Shawn,” Gus’ voice pops up from the backseat and Shawn shoots him a betrayed look. “Whose side are you on?!” Gus tilts his head. “The side that makes sure that I still have some burritos for myself.” He then opens up the same cooler that Shawn was just trying to reach into, and pulls out a perfectly tinfoil wrapped burrito that he delicately peels away. His eyes are alight with glee as he unhinges his jaw and prepares to take the biggest bite known to man, when Shawn twists around in his seat and grips Gus’ arm, pulling it and the burrito away from his mouth. “That burrito is mine sucker!” Shawn calls out, trying to take the burrito for himself. “Oh no you don't, Shawn!!” The two of them struggle back and forth, causing the car to shake slightly, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that Gus is a backstabber and Shawn needs his burrito! “Guys!” Jules’ voice calls out sharp, and the two of them freeze—Gus’ left hand smushed into Shawn's face, and Shawn’s free hand gripping Gus’ throat in a chokehold, their other hands wrapped tightly around the burrito in a tug of war. She outstretches her right hand, keeping her left hand on the wheel, and makes a grabbing motion. The two of them dejectedly give the burrito into her palm and she huffs, smiling. “Thank you. We have one more hour to go. You can both eat one burrito, okay? The rest are for when we get there.” She then takes a satisfied chomp of the burrito in her hand.

Okay let's go through the moments of the episode:
First scene: buck gets hurt ,is taken to the hospital tommy hears about it and comes immediately after his shift which could have be a 24/72 we don't know but since it was Halloween we know it was hectic based on previous episode Halloween lore, that means this man is tired but immediately goes to the hospital because you know BOYFRIEND HURT. He goes to see BOYFRIEND and BOYFRIEND is talking about curses which is doesn't believe in and buck being buck will try to convince him of it , so the whole drive back to the apartment after getting discharged would definitely be filled with buck talking about billy boil, Halloween and curses, which would continue all through dinner ( takeout because tired and injured) and continued to him getting his hands on his laptop to research and tommy is just like hmm( because he tried at the beginning to argue with logic but it didn't work and has now given up and is just listening).
Second scene: buck is still on his research bing and tommy has tried to make him go to sleep to no avail, so has decided to make is BOYFRIEND is comfortable before just going to sleep because this man is still tired. Now this is the part that gets me HE SLEEPS ON THE COUCH, I mean this man is not small , has had a probably hectic shift but sleeps on the small couch to keep his boyfriend company with a blanket that barely covers him after which,
Scene three: he wakes early probably with a aching back to make his BOYFRIEND breakfast, which goes to hell because his BOYFRIEND has woken up with boils on his face and now buck is probably back to square one with spiraling,so tommy calls Eddie ( with buck still info dumping about curses, goes to take a shower while waiting for Eddie ( with buck still explaining probably seated on the toilet) because he has a shift to get to, oh and this proves tommy has a drawer at buck's place.
Scene four: Eddie comes they do the check up, they make Eddie -tommy brand jokes , tommy goes to work, buck remains doing more research in how to break the curse, the boils become worse, goes to work, and boom something else comes up
Scene five: and again this man has to leave his shift and go to the hospital for the second time in barely a 24 hour time frame without rest to keep his friends and BOYFRIEND company for hours because a broken leg and internal bleeding can't be fixed in a few minutes ( where he finds out he is not in the group chat 😭 but that's for another time) during which this guy is still giving buck heart eyes despite the boils on his face ,when his best friend couldn't even look at him. His BOYFRIEND then get a realization about breaking the curse which did I say he doesn't believe in and decides to hold a funeral for a 200 hundred years old mummy because this guy loves his BOYFRIEND he goes home gets his suit, presses it, wears it goes to pick said BOYFRIEND and takes him to the burial site and this is with him running on couch sleep for something he doesn't believe is real( but his BOYFRIEND believes so he does all that anyway)
Scene six: they get there and his BOYFRIEND delivers a heart touching speech that makes him love him a little more and makes everything that he had to do in a DAY AND A HALF worth it and our boy who doesn't believe in curses after his BOYFRIEND is out of hear shot half pleads and threatens ( That's how I saw that scene seemed to me😂) for the mummy to lift the curse.
Okay now tell me how is that not true love
How is that being dismissive and not affectionate
The point is it's no longer being delusional and just burying your head in the sand and refusing to see what's right in front of you.
#bucktommy#evan buckley#tommy kinard#buck x tommy#if it hasn't shown yet I'm very happy about the word boyfriend being used🥰#911 abc#911 spoilers#grammar errors because I'm tired and not proof reading this#tevan#kinley#anti buddie

Buck & Eddie: Chris has been looking for Dad!Buck since the Tsunami
After 6x11 aired, I always thought the scene from Buck's coma dream with Chris asking Buck to help him find his DAD meant Chris was looking for Buck and I believe I can prove my theory with the scene that happened after the Tsunami.
While writing the next chapter in my multi-chapter fic titled “I’m still in love with you but... I needed to learn how to love myself too!”, I realized the scenes from 3x3 and 6x11 illustrated how Chris was in fact looking for Buck both times but Buck didn't understand.
In 3x3, the woman who had been carrying Christopher around all day after him and Buck got separated asked Eddie, "You're Buck?" to which he replied, "No, I'm his father Eddie." Then she said, "He was looking for Buck" and Eddie looked at Buck and Buck looked at Eddie🙃🤪.
Eddie is Christopher's BIOLOGICAL FATHER! It's a fact that will never change. Eddie called himself Chris' FATHER twice in that episode instead of calling himself Chris' dad. Chris calls Eddie "Dad" all the time, he even yelled "DAD!" when Eddie saw the woman carrying him and Eddie yelled "CHRISTOPHER!" in response. So why didn't Eddie identify himself as his dad instead of as his father? 🧐
Let's proceed.
Reminder at the end of 3x3, after Eddie brought Chris back to the loft, Buck said, "I was supposed to look out for him" and Eddie replied, "And what you think you failed? I've failed that kid more times than I care to count and I'm his FATHER but I love him enough to never stop trying and I know you do too. Buck! There's nobody in this world I trust with my son more than you!" He used the word FATHER again instead of saying DAD!
In 6x11, Buck's coma dream happened more than three and a half years later and Buck still believes his place in Chris' life as his second DAD/PARENT is not real. He said it himself, when Chris asked, "Can you help me find my DAD?" Buck replied, "Sorry but you're not real and I gotta go. I'm always going to feel sorry for that one".
Chris didn't ask Buck to help him find his father (EDDIE), he asked him to help him find his dad (BUCK) 🤪.
Even after the Tsunami, Chris running away to Buck's loft during the pandemic, the shooting, the will reveal, Eddie's breakdown and Chris asking Buck to come back after he was struck by lightning, Buck still didn't get it and he didn't SEE IT!
I stand by the comments I made in a post at the beginning of season 6 (linked here), both Eddie and Chris have been waiting for Buck but he's STILL TOO CONCERNED WITH THE WAY PEOPLE SEE HIM to understand it.
"Dead Bobby" told Buck in his coma dream that he hadn't learned a damn thing if he still cared about the way people see him. Well, he didn't learn anything since he's still trying to get people to like him. He wants Margaret and Phillip to like him the same way he wants all the women he dated to like him. Reminder, ND walked out and when she came back, she said, "I like you" and he said, "I like you too".
WTF was that supposed to be? 🙄
Buck's been trying to get people to like him his whole life and it started with his parents, especially his mother. Full disclosure I don't like TK but in 4x8, she told him "You just can't stand it when someone doesn't like you". She was right and he's doing it again with ND, making the same mistakes by trying to convince her to like him.
In 5x18, he told TK he didn't want to make the same mistakes well, he certainly made the same mistake again for the fourth time with someone else who likes one thing about him but not all of him.
Why didn't the show just let Buck admit he needed time to focus on himself instead of hooking up with another woman who doesn't know him? He'll never SEE the family he's been looking for is right in front of him if the show doesn't stop throwing RANDOM women at him.
It doesn't matter how ANYONE tries to spin his relationship with ND and make it into some big and fantastic romance because the truth is, IT'S NOT A ROMANCE, IT'S TOXIC. She was only interested in his DEATH and that's creepy AF. She was supposed to help him accept his death but instead she came back talking about she liked him which was no different from the way Dr. Wells treated him after he lost Devon in 1x2. They don't have some "Gone with the wind" or "Romeo and Juliet" type of love affair. It wasn't that; it still isn't that and it'll never be that unless the show forces the narrative to make it work.
If the narrative doesn't change, then Buck will suffer through yet another boring AF lackluster relationship with the fourth woman who only wanted to use him for his "Firehose" until she gets bored like the rest of them did. If he was meant to be with any of them, the relationships would have lasted instead of them running for the hills when his life got difficult. TK told him she wanted him in 4x14 which is just like ND saying she liked him in 6x18.
Eddie and Chris love Buck for who he is not for what he can give them but he's still ignoring the family who has been beside him this whole time for two trifling parents who only show him any attention when he's hurt along with all those women who like Buck the firefighter instead of Evan the "Good man".
What's it going to take for him to understand he's part of the Diaz Family and has been for years?
At this point, who knows but HOPEFULLY things will be different in season 7 or it'll be another wash, rinse and repeat season with Buck's love life and Eddie being sidelined until ND gets the boot like TK did in S5 which was EXHAUSTING AF to watch for a whole season!

Okay so people are starting to kind of piece together what might be going on. I noticed you received a few things from people as well. I have no words.
Q. So myself and some others have been going through Twitter trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Because something is definitely going on. And girl.....damn.. They have definitely splintered off into two camps. The group that is trying to distance themselves from the cult like group is going around telling everyone not to leave nasty comments on the 911 post of Ryan and Gavin and to not leave nasty comments on the Ryan photo Oliver took, because they believe their behavior is being monitored by the show following Tim's call-out during his interview. And their group seems to contain the people who are kind of starting to turn on Lou because he's not letting any of them know if he's filming. But the cult crew has officially descended into complete madness. They are now posting old b&w photos of LFJ and listing Oliver as the photographer (I guess ignoring the very real life crime that is). This is a real thing. I've seen some of the photos. The R/O are together in real life thing is still going strong. But the biggest WTF is that apparently one of them tried to pretend to be Lou posting on Twitter from his burner account in order to make people believe he was on set filming and hanging out with Oliver, but that he isn't allowed to post any pics. This one is really kind of hard to follow but I guess they genuinely believed it was him and then the person messed up somehow on one of the posts and they figured out it was a fake (again, really hard to find the details on this one, this is just the best we can figure from their freak out posts). No clue which blog was pretending to be him. They are also still really pissed at Oliver for not hanging out with his onscreen partner and making Lou feel unimportant to him by choosing to spend so much time with Ryan. These people need help.
A. I can't believe I just read this. So they are stealing professional photos of another photographer, posting them to their public, online accounts and crediting Oliver for the photo? Or they're posting b&w photos Lou took on his Instagram and crediting Oliver for those photos? Because the first one is an honest to god criminal offense and they should remove and correct immediately. The fact that it's desperate and sad is secondary to the fact that it's a crime. If they're reposting candids from Lou's Instagram, which I'm guessing is what they're doing, and citing Oliver as the photographer in order to make it look as though the two of them are hanging out in real life, they need to be committed. Look I know that at times we all just kind of sit back and have a laugh at their expense because what they do is just too absurd to be taken seriously, but this stuff isn't funny anymore. Some of this is turning into legitimately concerning and scary behavior. What in the world could possibly compel someone to pretend to be an actor on Twitter, another thing that is a real life crime (!!!). They were so desperate to make people believe he was filming, when clearly he hasn't been, that they created a fake account impersonating him in order to try and convince people he's doing things he isn't doing. Sweetheart I don't know if you're ever going to see this post, but if you or any of your friends see it, I need you to call a real life doctor. We all need help sometimes. This is not a making fun of you statement. This is a I have genuine concerns for your safety statement.
This is a television show. Buck, Eddie and Tommy are not real people. Oliver, Ryan and Lou are very real. And you all are going after the real people now and that has to stop. This is sick behavior. It's not funny. It's not entertaining. It is disturbing and sick. And I'm genuinely concerned about what some of these people will do once Tommy is written out of the show, if he hasn't already been. Because if the show is actually monitoring your behavior it's because they have genuine safety concerns and nothing else. I don't think that's happening because I think this is now a very small group of people, and the show knows that. A very small group of people who desperately need to get real life help.
Yeah, I did receive a few things in my ask box. So I had some idea what was going on with the whole Ryan and Oliver thing, but not all the details.
Having read that question, I agree with Ali. I do fear for what will happen once Lou is written out or just doesn't appear anymore in season 8. It's a real concern at this point. These people are pushing the boundaries further and further away and I don't know if all of them are completely aware of this.
It's very easy to be caught up in something when the group keeps on pushing forward because a few leader figures tell you to do so. At a certain point you need to get out, because if you don't? Well, then you'll forever be remembered as 'one of them'. And that's not a good thing at all.
Once again Nonny, thank you for dropping this into my ask box.
IMPORTANT! Please don't repost this ask and/or a link that leads straight to my Tumblr account on Twitter or any other social media. Thank you!
Heads up! For anyone who is giving me the shifty eyes for reposting Ali's updates instead of reblogging. Read this.
Remember, no hate in comments, reblogs or inboxes. Let's keep it civil and respectful. Thank you.
If you are interested in more of Ali’s posts, you can find all of her posts so far under the tag: anonymous blog I love.

And yet people are convinced about what the insider says about him being written as gay since the beginning. I don’t even like Ryan that much, but at this point I’m actually sorry for him since people keep ignoring what he’s been trying to say
TL;DR ahead This is where Tim's role in...everything comes into play, and I'm BEYOND tired of watching people speak about Buddie as if Tim isn't playing both sides - "shipper" and show runner. Tim considered Queer Eddie before Bi Buck this year. Fact. That means Tim was able to look at the way Eddie had been written over the course of five seasons (2->6) and could make sense of Eddie actually, legitimately being repressed. (And just remember that he interacts with fandom, he reads reactions and theories, so even if it wasn't INTENTIONAL from day one, he obviously learned to see what the audience sees, much like Oliver.) But here's the thing. Going by everything Ryan has said this year? Especially the most recent comments about the audience needing to get comfortable with bi men and straight men being close without assuming attraction, and wanting to show that men being vulnerable doesn't make them gay? You can't tell me Tim actually went to Ryan before brainstorming about how he could make Queer Eddie happen. Ryan is willing to consider playing Eddie as queer if he believes it makes sense for the character (I've never said he would never do it, so read that until you get it), but for the previous five seasons? And this season? He's been doing exactly what he wanted to do the whole time, we just didn't have the words for it until now, until he told us. Tim headcanoning Eddie as queer and/or being able to review earlier scenes and say "Oh, I can see how fans got this from that" makes for an entertaining fandom experience, sure (when the show runner sees what we see? that's the ultimate 'validation') but it doesn't change anything about what we're watching on screen when THE GUY PLAYING THE CHARACTER isn't putting himself in that headspace ON PURPOSE. HE DOESN'T THINK SEXUALITY SHOULD BE THE POINT. What I hate most is anybody taking the reaction to his comments personally because of those few people that will, as usual, call him homophobic.
But these comments don't need to be defended or even reworded to sound "better". If people actually care about Ryan the way they claim, they should be able to accept what he has to say without bringing negativity into it. They should be able to appreciate what he brings to the screen without wishing he would do more. But those people forgot Ryan was a real person with real feelings a long time ago. His 'true' purpose? Fit the mold of who they think Eddie Diaz should be. (For their own satisfaction. Not his.)

UNHINGED THEORY TIME we open with an inmate in prison who tells guards there's a monster living in his walls. He keeps trying to tell them about it, and they're considering whether to take him to the prison doctor when he drops to the ground and starts suffocating. For some reason the 118 are called instead of the prison doctor (maybe there's an outbreak of something at the prison so they are limited in med staff).
The team end up locked in the prison cell with the patient during an attempted prison break again. They recognise the patient was in anaphylaxis, and give him epi, but he doesn't come around yet. There was one guard outside helping them, but he also drops to the ground and starts going red. They can't really reach him to assess his symptoms. The team has to start to investigate, but there's no air conditioning, there is little time and there is not water and they're all trapped in a small space that is heating up fast. There's little they can do but wait for rescue...
Trapped with Gerrard is not fun, so they start to tell stories to pass the time, and talk about what would have happened if they had made different choices (hence sliding doors theory, and we see them acting out these little fantasies). They start to get more delirious and dehydrated as time goes on, so the stories become more unhinged as the risk gets higher.
The patient slowly wakes up and is mumbling about a monster living in the walls. Buck panics... He hears it, he's scared, and he convinces Chim and Eddie the same. Hen dismisses them, but goes to investigate, and discovers a massive bee hive in the walls of the prison (this is based on a real-life news story earlier this year- not in a prison though). They also manage to reach through the bars to give the guard an epi-pen, and eventually are rescued.

can i ask about your thoughts about this vertigo-esque storyline with eddie and what do you think buck's role in this?
oh boy, this is a long one. i'm sorry in advance.
i'll be honest, i haven't watched that movie so i don't feel too confident speaking on this, but i'm not really worried.
from what i have gathered, it's a story about a retired detective, scottie, who is hired to follow the wife of his acquaintance, madeleine, and he becomes increasingly obsessed with her. he learns that she visits a grave of her grandmother, who committed s**c*de, and he is worried she is possessed by her ghost. he then rescues her when she attempts to jump from a bridge. they spend some time together, and then at some point she runs up the bell tower, and scottie can't follow her because he has a fear of heights, so he essentially watches her plunge to her death, and as a result, he spirals into depression.
so, up until this point, the only common theme between this story and eddie's is that the women they are in love with die, and both of them have a hard time dealing with it. i don't think there is anything else, but if someone who actually watched the movie wishes to correct me, please do.
later, scottie encounters a woman named judy who bears a striking resemblance to madeleine, and he becomes obsessed with transforming her into the image of his lost love because he is convinced that will allow him to overcome his grief.
so, this is basically what we see happening with eddie right now. he meets kim, and he is so struck by her resemblance to shannon he can't help himself but think he can rebuild with her what he had with shannon. so, he makes some questionable choices by telling her he's single, going on a date with her, and lying about it not only to marisol but also to buck and chris. we obviously haven't seen him trying to transform kim into shannon (i think at this moment he is only fascinated by her), but it is possible he is going to attempt to do so. maybe not in the same way scottie does, but perhaps in a more subtle way. he has looked for shannon in every relationship he has had so far. and now that he met her lookalike, he thinks that god gave him a second chance, and he doesn't want to waste it.
then, scottie learns that the acquaintance who originally hired him to follow madeleine actually orchestrated the whole thing. madeleine was never madeleine – she was judy. she was hired to impersonate his acquaintance's wife. they took advantage of scottie's fear of heights because they knew he wouldn't follow madeleine up the bell tower, and then the acquaintance killed his real wife (and she was the body that was thought to be madeleine/judy). madeleine/judy was never dead. scottie takes judy to the bell tower and confronts her about it. he overcomes his fear of heights so they are together on top now. at some point, a nun appears to investigate the noise and surprises judy, causing her to fall off the bell tower.
now we don't know yet what they are going to do with eddie and kim, but i don't think any of that is going to happen. we have to keep in mind those are two different stories. yes, they do share some common themes, but at their core, they are vastly different. i don't want to speculate about the outcome of it much because 911 always manages to surprise me, so i'll just leave it there.
but now on to the real question of this ask – what's buck's role in it? i suppose you have seen buddie shippers screaming from the rooftops that this is basically a confirmation that buddie will go canon because oliver/buck is mentioned on the poster as well (in a place where there originally is the name of the actress that plays midge, a character who is scottie's friend and who is in love with him). so, i guess everyone thinks there is going to be some kind of feelings realization (god do i hate this phrase) moment on buck's part and whatnot. SIGH.
well, first of all, i want to point out that midge's feelings are one-sided. and from what i've heard she does move on in the end. she and scottie do not end up together.
and second of all, i have said it already, but those are two completely different stories. the only common denominator is that in both cases, a male character becomes infatuated with a female character who eventually dies, and later on, they encounter their lookalike. for buck to be midge, there would have to be some already established romantic feelings for eddie on buck's part, and there simply aren't any. not in canon anyway. i don't think this is the time or place for "feelings realization".
i think buck is mentioned simply because he will be present in this arc, but certainly not in the way midge was. i think his role in it will be actually more important than that.
we know that he and kim do have a scene together. so i assume he's going to find out about eddie's shenanigans one way or another. i doubt eddie will tell him voluntarily, so i'm guessing he's going to run in on them somehow. and i don't think he's going to be happy. well, first of all, i think he's going to be confused. because what do you mean you're here with a woman who resembles your dead wife? but once he realizes what's going on, he's going to get a little angry. both for marisol, because this is NOT how you treat a woman you supposedly love (or any woman for that matter), and for himself, because eddie lied to him. and for chris, of course, don't get me started on that! one thing i'm pretty certain about is that he will be disappointed with him.
perhaps they'll also touch more on this honesty issue, actually. we all know buck is a pretty open and straightforward person, whereas eddie likes to keep things to himself unless he's directly asked about them. so, how this lie affects their friendship would definitely be very interesting to see.
either way, i think their bond will be a bit severed as a result of that. i don't think buck's going to support what eddie's doing and will call him out on it instead (will eddie fight back? that is quite possible, yes. and because of that they might take a longer time to patch things up). but they will make up eventually. if that's going to be this season or next, only time will tell. i also don't think buck will completely turn his back on eddie. he still has to work with him, and i think he's going to see him struggle, which will for sure hurt him inside. he might not support what he's doing, but he still cares about him after all. that's his best friend.
also, this is not really what i think will happen, but what i really hope to see – buck leaning on tommy throughout all of this, especially if it continues into the next episodes or even season 8. i think that would be a great way to kind of solidify their relationship. and if it continues into season 8 (which i doubt, but who knows?) i'd LOVE if tommy was encouraging buck to patch things up with eddie and perhaps encouraging eddie to patch things up with buck as well. i think that would introduce a great dynamic between all three of them.

Okay, I wanted to share just a little of what I think could happen on s8 (around just buddie) because the thought came to me so randomly that I can't stop thinking about it.
Paralleling to s4, Eddie gets injured in the big call at the start of the season (maybe on 8x03), leaving this space free for Buck to watch on Eddie and 'moving in' with him because he knows that Eddie will need him yes or yes. This maybe will cause 'trouble' on Buck's relationship with Tommy, causing the inevitable breakup + other pileup problems surrounding the differences between them, the 118 and Gerrard (bc i know he will be there to cause trouble somehow).
So, after Buck moves in with Eddie, he will try to convince him about returning to therapy, and because Christopher isn't there, Eddie will try to do his best to heal for him and his son (and for Buck too).
Healing will be the first step inside his internal journey to try and discover 'what is wrong with him'. This will lead to an Eddie Begins Again, where we can see his childhood, how's growing up inside a Mexican-Catholic house, how he ended up with Shannon and the guilty behind her pregnancy and the pressure of a wedding, maybe we can see hints of him feeling 'different' around boys and how this affected him and his decisions with the relationship around Shannon before marriage. And as we know, the Begin's episodes are in between present calls, maybe this time is a call where Buck is in danger and Eddie is trying to save him, to not lose him because he's feeling a lot and he's now capable of process all of these feelings thanks to therapy. Probably the episode will end with both okay but Eddie feeling empty with the thought of his life without Buck.
This can lead to the Christmas episode before mid-season break. Nobody is cheerful enough to do celebrations (paralleling to s3), Christopher is still in Texas and Buck is just there with Eddie. They talk about therapy (I can only imagine this talk on Eddie's kitchen), how Eddie was scared at the thought of losing Buck, they will probably touch the shooting and the will (s4) and how Buck felt the same back then and that's why he moved in with him now (at the start of the season) after his accident. Buck probably will start to notice the pattern and have his 'oh' moment right there, leading Eddie to take the risk and ask Buck "can I?" before kissing him.
This time, Eddie doesn't panic, maybe he's worried about making Buck uncomfortable but they just continue kissing. Maybe Buck runs away but he lets Eddie know that he isn't doing anything wrong, he just needs a minute to process what happened and that's when the mid-season ends, with Buck 'leaving' Eddie but with Eddie feeling full of emotions and with Buck's heart on his hands because he knows Buck enough to understand him.
s8b will just be Buddie navigating through their feelings and this new relationship between them. They will need to understand why this doesn't feel completely different from when they were just 'best friends' and understanding that now they can kiss freely, feeling this sense of power just with the thought of both being a real couple now and how their dynamics inside the 118 are just the same as always. Everything cam feel weird because they wouldn't know what to do now but nothing too bad, just funny moments of them being touchy and more happy and the whole 118 will be on this kind of limbo of suspiciousness (Tim could give us a 2 episodes of secret relationship with funny calls, lighthearted moments, jealousy) before they can't keep their feelings as a secret and start spilling the tea to all.
Eddie will continue the therapy and Buck will continue living with Eddie until Christopher cames back and starts asking questions, and I just hope for him not to freak out or give Buddie a hard moment (paralleling to s4/s7 with the whole Ana thing and people leaving like Shannon, etc.) because I'll lose my shit if that happens.
But yeah, this is my vision of what I imagined for next season. I'm so excited for what's next and jumping with excitement at the thought of Eddie being a gay character CANON. Tim cannot leave him without that arc, that's the only thing that needs to happen yes or yes, I cannot watch any other woman near Eddie because that man is GAY.
This are just my thoughts but please, be respectful and don't throw pebbles at me pls :((

🚨🚨🚨 uh oh clown alert!
listen. listen to me. buck is going to win the lottery in the 6b finale "pay it forward" and then give all of it to his friends and family. possibly via anonymous "angel donation?"
and i can prove it too - spec under the cut!
these are all from 6a&6b episode transcripts. opening and closing a season with "let the games begin" and "pay it forward" can't be a coincidence! and we know hen filled out lottery tickets for everyone in the firehouse, so there's a ticket with buck's name on it that's already been played.
maddie's joked with buck twice now this season about buying lottery tickets- the second time, she told him he should play the lottery because he "got so lucky," referring to him surviving the lightning strike.
pre-lightning, we had buck telling hen in cursed that he was "having a run of bad luck" but that it would "turn around tomorrow," in reference to a non-anonymous DONATION (!!!) not going as planned.
what if the lightning, cleansing fire that it off symbolizes, basically "burned through" the rest of his bad luck, clearing the way for one helluva lucky streak?
we got the buckley diaz family joking that he might "gain more powers" as he "gets stronger." sure, math helps with poker i guess, but you know what else would help? luck.
the symbolism of buck, someone conceived for the express purpose of making a bone marrow donation he had zero say in, someone who only recently donated sperm (partially) because he felt, in his own words, like he "couldn't say no," receiving an unexpected windfall of cash, and having the freedom and the privacy to make financial donations on his own terms, of his own free will, with zero outside pressure, as opposed to making organ/tissue donations out of obligation? SO poetic.
he's not the guy who tries to fix things, anymore- he knows his own worth, and he knows he's loved, and he no longer values himself solely on what he can do for others. he doesn't think he has to earn people's love, anymore- he knows his family loves him anyway. but he'll always be buck. he'll always want to help. and there's a massive difference between helping someone just because you want to, and trying to fix everything for someone because you've convinced yourself it's what you have to do in order for them to love you back.
so: buck wins the lottery. he regifts all of it to the people in his life, quite literally paying it forward, echoing athena and hen's conversation in 911 what's your fantasy about winning the lottery and giving it all away "to people" in your community, rather than to charities. maybe some of it's anonymous, maybe some of it isn't- realistically, if everyone in the 118 suddenly gets anonymous checks in the mail, they're going to figure out it's buck eventually. but it's the spirit of the thing.
they were filming at a cruise ship dock for the finale- buck gifts bobby and athena tickets to a cruise, to replace the honeymoon cruise they missed. he probably makes a donation to bobby's AA chapter.
we know madney get in trouble with the IRS in 6x15 death and taxes, so maybe he helps them out of that jam. pays off their mortgage, helps with the renovation costs, maybe chips in towards a wedding celebration.
maybe he pays off hen's med school loans, or makes a donation to help karen's coworkers injured in the explosion, maybe a recurring monthly stipend they can use to buy fun toys for any new foster kids, something like that.
maybe he's moving in with eddie anyway, so he buys out the rest of his lease from his landlord and transfers the apartment to taylor, on the SOLE condition that she CANNOT run a news story that he's the guy who won the lottery. (i despise taylor just as much as the next girl, believe me, but megan west was on the fox lot for a hot minute, so if it ends up being for 911 and not some other show, then, well, here we are.) he did admittedly put her in a real shit situation, re: her lease and all the move-in drama. this might be a nice way of clearing the air. fucking with someone's living situation is a tremendously shitty thing to do, and i think he knows that. plus, it would make for a good parallel to abby leaving buck to housesit her place indefinitely with zero closure, and also, i just hate the loft and want it gone forever, sorry!
college fund and surfing lessons for chris, obvs.
vegas couples' trip for him and eddie.
which brings me to the connor and kameron of it all- i remember seeing a (very blurry, zero context) behind the scenes picture that looked like it MIGHT have *MAYBE*, *POSSIBLY* been buck talking to a pregnant woman in his loft. and connor's been acting real shady. and 6x13 mixed feelings had entirely too many lines about "blaming someone else for lies YOU told" re: fathers and sons. soooo... i think there's a fair chance connor could flake on kameron and leave her last-minute. he thought he wanted to be a dad, but he wasn't actually ready. or maybe he thought he'd be okay with using a sperm donor, but turns out he's not. or maybe he just liked the idea of being able to give kameron what she wanted, but he realizes it's not actually what he wants for himself. something like that. (side note: this would be SUCH a good opportunity to contrast him with buck and highlight all buck's character growth!) and he skips town- in the end, he's the one who winds up "being a father and walking away."
but buck has a chance to draw a real boundary, here! he's not this baby's dad, and he knows that. maybe kameron's ready and willing to take on being a single mom. buck already has his own family, with eddie and chris. he's not this baby's dad, because he's a dad already. but he *is* "responsible for the creation of new life," as he put it, and we heard an awful lot of talk from oliver about buck "owning his choices" and taking responsibility for them re: this plotline. so, boundaries: he's not the dad, just a friend who wants to help- he knows firsthand from eddie how hard single parenting can be, and connor taking off was a real asshole move, and kameron is a grown woman perfectly capable of raising this kid on her own, and she really wants to be a mom, but she DID get left in the lurch through no fault of her own, and that's not fair to her. so buck offers to set up a standing payment from his lottery winnings to help her cover childcare expenses and whatnot, at least while she finds her footing and tries to work some kind of formal divorce agreement out with connor, if not in perpetuity. (hell, maybe she's who he gives the loft to, not taylor!) but he helps her in some way- a sperm donation he was always sorta on the fence about, paired with a financial donation that he's certain is the right choice, and one he wants to make. standing by his past choices, honoring them, and helping nurture them.
(besides, he's saving on rent anyway, now that he's moving into the diaz house.)
maybe kameron, as a token of gratitude towards buck for helping her fulfill her dream of having a child, as a gesture of reciprocity for his assisted-reproduction donation, offers a parting quip of "well, buck, if you and your boyfriend are ever looking for a surrogate or an egg donor, you know who to call. i'd love to return the favor!" as her own way of paying it forward.
anyway, the point is this: in a season about games and money and paper trails and gambling and luck and winning and lottery tickets, i'd bet good money that we're gonna see buck win the lottery this season. how he'll actually wind up spending the money is just a guess on my part, but the actual lottery bit itself? that much i'm sure of!
#mark my words this will be my coma buck truther dodgeball of apollo moment ok I KNOW IM RIGHT#911#evan buckley#buddie#911 spec#911 meta#if you saw me post this an hour ago with horrible formatting and then immediately delete it no you didn't ❤️#im on mobile and fighting for my fuckin life trying to post this lol hopefully it works this time!#mutuals rb this i worked soooooo hard on it 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺#forgot to even add the gross 'you're a miracle baby buck might as well share it' from marge#but this would be an actually good and non-shitty way of him 'sharing his miracle' to highlight the importance of free will!

been reflecting on the season a lot recently and on the topic of bucks bisexuality storyline, and i think ive come to the conclusion that theres maybe some catastrphization on the part of people who think the arc is horribly written, but also other people seem to be looking at it through rose tinted glasses and accepting anything given to them just because the storyline was such a long time coming. And i’ve had a hard time with figuring out why both sides of these takes just bother me so much so i sat down with my thoughts while work was slow and i rotated evan buckley in my mind until i had coherent thoughts
When it comes to the self discovery of it all i think that is probably the best thing the show did with the arc. episodes four and five were ultimately huge successes in my opinion on the topic of bisexuality. My main issue with this part of it is not specifically to do with the bi-ness of the storyline but the show in general. The show, showrunner, and Oliver want us to believe this storyline is different, that this is the one that finally changes everything, and I fully believe them in that being their intentions. However, they didnt show that to us well enough. The show has a glaringly cliche formula when it comes to buck and eddie love storylines that i used to think was intentional parallelism but now believe to be a writing rutt that they can't seem to break out of. They meet the partner, they have a romantic moment, something gets in the way of that romance, they meet up at a restaurant to “start over”. Ali, natalia, ana all follow this exactly and taylor sort of. its just tired? And the fact that this is exactly how buck and tommys relationship starts too just makes it so i cant convince myself that this is any different than before. Like i said i truly believe the writers thought they were pulling buck off the hamster wheel and the commentary outside the show tells me that he’s supposed to be doing something new, but they just can't escape their own romance formula enough to actually do it in the TEXT. and one thing about me is i think when it comes to TV, a viewer response lens is the most important way to analyze the story. the intention of the writer doesnt matter as much as the interpretation of the viewer because the average viewer of prime time television isnt reading tim minears interviews or listening to the podcasts oliver stark does, theyre tuning in at 8pm est and tuning out at 9. to conclude on the topic of bucks self discovery arc, i think it was done well. i think this is a general consensus, i feel like most people who think the storyline went sour still believe that episode four was done well at the very least
when it comes to the coming out of it all, this is one spot where i believe there’s some catastrophizing. the storyline had to choose carefully who got the long coming out scenes and i think it’s crazy to say that they chose wrong. do i wish there was a little bit of a longer beat with both hen and bobby about the storyline, yes absolutely. but i don’t think scenes with buck sitting down to formally come out to them would have been either necessary nor in character. bucks strongest canonical ties are to maddie, eddie, and bobby. two of which he never felt the need to come out formally to either by the way. i think a lot of people wanted to see more hesitation and fear from buck about his sexuality, but what they decided to show us instead was a man who realized something new about himself and immediately understood that the people around him were going to love and accept him no matter what. the only slip we see in this confidence is around eddie where… im trying to keep this analysis unbiased by non canon things so im not going to get into what i think of that but… in any sense bucks coming out moments were not about coming out at all but instead always about him being loved by his family. i rate this part of the storyline 10/10 because it all felt so natural and real for someone who has the support system and love that buck does (not saying it isn’t hard to come out even when people are supportive, just that i get why it wasn’t hard for buck). the storyline matched the character really well, but if they were to give the same easy breezy coming out arc to a character with the same backstory as say eddie then i would understand the want for more turbulence.
now the most polarizing part of the storyline for sure is the “established relationship” part of the season i guess you could call it lmao. my personal main complaint here is that we immediately lose any and all insight into the *new* of it all. if you want to make a big deal about this romance storyline being different than the other ones, you actually have to show us on screen what’s DIFFERENT about it. it doesn’t bother me so much on a relationship side of things because the relationship isn’t my personal cup of tea, but i think it would have been nice to see more scenes focused on the reasons this relationship is something new for buck. i’m not a tv writer, i honestly don’t have a suggestion for scenes that could have made this better for me. i think a tone thing is big part of it, if they lightened up tommy’s interactions with buck made him a little more flirty and lively it would have felt truly like a new relationship still in the phase of navigating a new dynamic rather than. well it doesn’t matter what i thought the relationship felt like by the end that’s not the point here. another place i feel like they could have put some more effort in is the bobby of it all, he was very preoccupied but their conversation felt stilted and not actually how i imagine it going. when it comes to the acknowledgment of bisexuality and newfound personal experiences i rate the end of the season: bad. i don’t think this was by virtue of the show not caring or wanting to portray the storyline anymore, but just by virtue of the entire end of the season being… kinda bad.
finally the finale, oh the finale… i swear im trying to come at this as unbiased as i can when i talk about the BT dinner scene but just know that i didn’t like it and that may bleed through. i think it was unfavorable of them to frame this scene the way they did. by having the scene start en media res and having us jump in to the dinner already in progress it feels disingenuous, because now im supposed to believe buck left the hospital, cooked an entire meal, set up a date, started eating and only THEN was the topic of bobby’s health brought up? it feels like this scene was written in a way that it would be for a well established long term couple, not a new relationship we’ve barely seen on screen. in this very scene is the first time tommy even learns what bucks relationship with bobby is like, this is very obviously not a deep connection yet so why are they being given the framework of it? the show is telling us that this relationship has gotten more serious without any proof and i find it very hard to believe them. i think there’s ONE simple change that makes this scene work 100x better and makes me feel like buck is actually settling into the relationship rather than having to take tim minear word for it: just start the scene with buck coming home to tommy! if buck is just getting home from the hospital it doesn’t feel as out of character because there’s less assumed time where buck is for some reason not worried about bobby, which he WOULD be don’t even try to tell me he’s not. and if tommy is already in bucks apartment when he comes home we learn so much about their relationship with such a small gesture. that buck feels comfortable with him there, that tommy feels comfortable alone there, that they spend time there often enough that tommy knows his way around. it just feels like this scene was written in good faith but the forgetfulness by the writers on the overall context of where this scene was in the episode created a strange tone in which i’m supposed to believe evan buckley would ever plan a romantic date night while bobby nash is literally comatose. thoughts on the bisexual storyline in the finale: no. i’m not gonna get into the daddy issues line of it all because that’s a lot more opinion based and it would make this like double length. ask me about it if you want i guess.
all in all, i think there’s … a lot that could have and should have been done differently in order to maximize the goals and effects that tim continuously told us he was trying to achieve. when it comes to carefully telling a story of late life sexuality discovery, i think they did well. when it comes to most other aspects, i think the ball was dropped. pls feel free to send messages or asks regarding this topic because i think im still developing thoughts on it and id love to have conversations regarding :)

So, I know this won't happen but if my impatient, dramatic ass were writing this story, this is how it would go.
Buddie kiss in the loft at the end of 7x05. At the start of 7x06, at Chim's bachelor party, they're in this kind of weird relationship limbo. Cue Vegas montage of alcohol, and dancing, and gambling (and lingering, heated looks, and handsy behavior). Vegas is a liminal space, somewhere they can let go and do things that they typically wouldn't do irl. They wake up together in the same bed, unsure of what happened but shy and blush about it at first (Eddie especially looks like he's internally freaking out). But then they realize THEY CAN'T FIND CHIMNEY. So, they spend the whole day having hijinks looking for Chimney and at the end of it, they decide that their hookup is to blame for things going so awry and Chim nearly missing his wedding (really, they're just scared because what they feel for each other is so huge and all-encompassing). They convince themselves that they're better off as friends and that it's totally possible for them to go back to that after knowing each other carnally (LOL).
Then Buck moves in with Eddie in the next episode because he's too broke to afford his loft and it's game over, but it takes them until the end of the season to realize it (I have this scene in my head where Buck is casually unpacking in the background when Marisol comes over to beg for a second chance). In 7x10 there's a dramatic rescue that makes them both realize how much time they've been wasting, and they get together for real. 911 cliffhangs the fuck out of us so that we can pick up exactly where we left off in 8x01 (which is unusual for the show, but this is also an unusually short season).
(I know, I'm speed running. But I would love to get to the part where they're in a relationship and we see them trying to figure it out like the other couples. My actual prediction is that there's going to be a very nice loft moment in 7x05 where Eddie reminds Buck that they'll always be friends (and warns him never to injure him during an emotional crisis again). He'll look back and say he loves him and Buck will respond in kind. Then, at the bachelor party, they'll have fun as friends (maybe Chim even invites Tommy?) before losing Chimney and having platonic bro hijinks tying to find him. Maybe they'll have a moment of emotional eye contact while Madney is saying their vows? I think we may at least get Eddie admitting to himself that he has a crush on Buck by the end of the season. I saw someone suggest that maybe Buddie will make it official in episode 118, which would be 8x12, which I like.
That said, I still want to know what Ryan meant by "something new for both of us" in his interviews, given that the show hadn't shot past 7x06 at that point. Maybe he meant the jealousy? Or Buck hurting Eddie physically? Or just Buck coming out to Eddie and that being a new thing? Idk).

Ok ok ok.
I know I'm late but..
I have to go meta again cause that one scene made me shout at the TV.
So let's dive in:
-
We have Carla and Eddie and Chris.
We have Chris trying on the suit. The last time we saw him doing it was in the store where Eddie panicked when Ana was referred to as Chris' mum. The moment that clearly set off Eddie's journey to finally make a decision for himself and break things off with Ana.
This is already a big reference, especially cause Eddie mentions "the last time" Chris was wearing the suit.
You're directly reminded of that scene.
Then Carla and Eddie leave Chris and go to the kitchen (where Ana and Eddie broke up) and talk further. The conversation is about Chris, sure, but also about Eddie.
And we have Carla yet again saying something big, something that's clearly meaningful.
I don't think I have to elaborate on what that dream could be for Eddie...
-
And then this is the next scene:
Chim and Buck carrying in Jee's new bed.
Again, a scene cuts from Eddie to Buck after something meaningful.
And in which way!
Buck in the context of being an uncle, Buck in the context of a kid - after he's donated his sperm.
This CAN'T be a coincidence. Not again and again and again.
What Carla says also applies to Chim and Jee's room situation and might apply to Buck as well.
We see that the room situation doesn't really work out. The fantasy was better than the reality...at least partially. But Chim brings back the words "dream(house)" and "fantasy" and lifts the situation through that into something nice.
So in this case, fantasy and reality kind of mix and it all turns into something positive in that moment.
Now, what does that mean for Buck?
This HAS to relate to Buck's sperm donation. We haven't seen Buck interact with Jee in ages and now he's taking care of her and helping to create a space for her.
Maybe the fantasy Buck had of helping others with their dream will turn out to have been better than the reality in the end.
And what about the "talking about your dreams make it seem too real."?
Eddie's expression is so prominent here
and absolutely reminds of his reaction the last time Carla said something impactful to him "make sure to follow your heart".
Ultimately, back then Eddie's fantasy turned out to be better than the reality as well.
-
There are just too many references in this little scene, in these two sentences, for them not to mean something. We were right last time when we all knew Carla's words were big.
It's set up the same way again. Her words clearly affect Eddie on a deeper level.
Now, of course I'm gonna make this more about Buddie.
We don't only have the scenes cutting from this to Buck, but also that sentence.
Of course the first thing that came to my mind was: That's why Eddie hasn't said anything about his feelings towards Buck because it's too real.
But also... We haven't had a talk between Buck and Eddie since the very significant one in the first ep where they were talking about Buck's love life. And we haven't had a talk about the whole sperm donor thing.
Maybe both of them are too nervous to actually talk about it cause that would make it real.
Idk idk but you can't tell me that this isn't all on purpose. There are just too many references and the absolute lack of Buddie scenes is so suspicious.
-
The film makers are all too aware of how big of a thing Buddie is within the fandom. They know what will make us scream and what will make us read Buddie into it. They're pros. They're not some amateurs.
There are too many things going on that are very suspicious.
You just can't convince me that it's not at the very least, precisely placed.
And as a bonus we have Eddie saying that as a parent you have all these visions for your kid, just like his parents had for him.
But Eddie is fine with letting go of them and imo he's also fine to let go of what remains of the expectations his parents have had for him.
-
This is my Buddie meta rant for this episode. I swear, these two sentences and Eddie's expression and Buck's storyline... It's all connected.

Things I am looking forward to in season 8 of 911
I'm not someone who does a lot of speculating, but here are some things I look forward to seeing/hope to see in season 8 of 911:
the team actually going on calls together regularly!
118 firefam silliness (the teasing in the fire engine! buck's fun facts!)
firefam eating meals together again
Eddie discovering who he is outside of the roles he has in his life (father, firefighter, son, etc.)
Bobby both not caring about the fame and onset shenanigans on the Hot Shots set, and yet caring very very deeply about the accuracy of the portrayal firefighters and how those two things won't mix well
the team working together to somehow get Gerrard out of the 118 (and hopefully out of the LAFD altogether)
An episode that focuses more on humour/silliness (last season was overall quite heavy, I want something fun like Jinx again)
A new style of episode we haven't seen before - outsider POV, trapped in the firehouse, a day with absolutely no calls - just something completely different than we've seen before
an realization of feelings: either Eddie realizing how he feels about Buck, or Buck realizing how he feels about Eddie (I would love canon Buddie, but I will settle for a feeling realization and clear evidence Buddie is an option)
Chris and Eddie reuniting
Eddie having the confidence to stick up for himself in front of his parents and tell them he is a good parent and he needs them to respect that (this might be a pipe dream, but I'd love to see it)
More unique, interesting and absurd emergency calls and situations (maybe bring back those Youtube pranksters?)
Another call involving Ruth from the Sip and Go (I just love Ruth!)
A peak into Josh's love life - surely I'm not the only one who has been waiting for the man to have a nice, loving boyfriend since he was attacked? You can't convince me Maddie doesn't feel the same as me and would totally meddle and set him up on dates!
Karen getting to be a sleuth again somehow - maybe they need her help for a case? Or she and Hen are trying to solve a mystery about their new neighbours?
More development of the bond between Mara and Denny (is was so sweet to see last season!)
Chim and Maddy getting a honeymoon getaway (preferably with no emergencies, just a happy, fun weekend - Tim will never agree to this one, lol)
Watching the horrors of house hunting in LA through Bobby and Athena (maybe for once, a tv show will acknowledge how unaffordable real estate is in major cities...)
That is my list so far. I have some more hopes and wishes, but I don't like to set myself up for disappointment expecting certain things (like Buddie going canon, or particular plot lines for Captain Gerrard and Council woman Ortiz).
Do any of my hopes match yours?
