Nine years is a long run, yet... 'Some May Say' that Oasis turning up to Edinburgh in August, taking all the hotel rooms, the lack of 'medium to big' named stand-ups signed to TV deals, and the huge cost of putting on theatre might be a factor here.

May I strongly recommend my amazing friend Laser's solo show, A Shark Ate My Penis? It's a show about trans men throughout history, as well as Laser's own gender journey. I saw him perform this at the Hollywood Fringe earlier this year, and it's absolutely marvelous.

There's also Asexuality! A Solo Musical by my brilliant friend Rebecca McGlynn, which is a hilarious and touching autobiographical show that I won't spoil for you. The show is brilliant, as is Rebecca herself.

My final recommendation is my friend Friz Frizzle's show, Hypofixations, where they talk about coming to terms with being disabled. Friz is a deeply, deeply funny musical comedian - seriously, I wish my brain worked the way theirs does. This show has the added bonus of being part of the Free Fringe.

I’m having a production chat with an old Aussie mate, @fostersuk about if we can afford to remount our award-winning play @theatreattabard without #sponsorship – and maybe afterwards @edfringe. His Fringe show for 2023 is “Table for One”, where Sing talks about his dual career as a stand-up comic and human rights advocate – careers that see him taking on the US Government over human rights before dealing with deportation from India while staying in Germany. 

The show, which is supporting and raising money for the Centre for Gender and Refugee Studies, asks how you can fight the good fight while you are far away from home.
