Writing in 2024
Every year, I try and do a blog post about the things I've written in 2024, how I felt about it all, and if I learned anything. This year, it really didn't feel like I had done a lot until I went back and looked at my AO3. Then I realized I had actually written a ton, a whopping 80,000 words worth.
So beneath the cut, I'll break this down into three categories: Zines, #RR, and FTH.
Zines
Some of these fics I wrote in 2023, but I didn't post them until 2024 due to exclusivity rules, but I'll include them in this list. After the rush of Season 2, I signed up for as many zines as possible. I had the fever, and the only cure was more zines! I also had some insane executive functioning fairy (who would abandon me by summer), who inspired me to write, edit, and submit everything on time. Wild.
Wartime Correspondence, 1.5k, Teen, for Pin Me Up Vol. 2 - featuring pin-up Aziraphale!
In Good Faith, 1.7k ,Teen, for Twin Passions: A Bildad Zine - a missing scene from Job
The Thing With Feathers, 2.6k, Gen, for In Love With My Car Vol. 2 - a fic about reconciling post-S2 ft. wonderful artwork by Cat_Clawz
Best In Show, 1.4k Gen, for It Began In A Garden - where an angel and a demon enjoy retirement in the South Downs, ft incredible artwork by eglantine-c
and my favorite because Warlock lives forever rent free in my head
Falling Upwards, 2.1k, Gen, for Above Below and the Common Ground - an epistolary fic about Warlock and Crowley reuniting post-S2.
#RAINBOWROAD
Simultaneously, I was posting the final installment of #RR, 0-60 in 3.5, 49k, Teen.
I had intended to end the series with Fools Rush In, so I treat all of this as bonus content. Think of it like DVD extras. There's a very loose plot. It's basically me shitposting right up until the end. I had so much fun sharing this with everyone!
I also need to shout out @literarion, who just finished posting the #RR podfic. She has been working on it for over a year, and posting literally took all year from January to December. She never said it, but I did worry she wanted to murder me when I said I had written another part.
Lit, in my opinion, is the shining example of the talent, creativity, and generosity in the Good Omens fandom. The fact that she creates these podfics that are so high quality and makes fic accessible for more people is really fucking cool. It was also incredible for me to hear my words sound like sports broadcasts and TV interviews.
I've written a lot about how overwhelmed I get when I think about all the people who have contributed to the #RR universe, but I do want to say it again. Thank you.
Fandom Trumps Hate
Then, right around the time I wrapped up all the zines and #RR, I signed up for Fandom Trumps Hate. This was my first year doing it, and it was such a fun experience! I am floored by the generosity of people. It was also incredible to take direct prompts and brainstorm ideas with everyone. None of the final products were at all like I imagined in the beginning, but I think that goes to show the liquid nature of writing sometimes.
That said, when I started FTH, I was coming off the high of finishing all these other projects and feeling extremely productive. This summer, however, I was hit with the most severe, longest bout of depression I've experienced. I came off of several medications. My dog got cancer. Every ounce of energy I had I channeled into existing. I would have given anything to have the ability to write, but I couldn't.
Just when I finally got my feet under myself, I was offered a promotion. It was October. My boss took me out for coffee one random Monday and offered me a position I had been applying for, for years. I was excited and also stressed out because I knew I would be taking on a lot of responsibility at a time when my life felt very tenuous, but it was also an oportunity I could not miss.
FTH was heavy on my mind. In true ADHD fashion, the stress of starting a new job kicked my butt into gear. I had been slowly plugging along on all the fics over the summer but ended up reworking every single one of them. And each fic was wildly different from the other.
This also gave me the opportunity to explore a couple of ideas I had turning over in my brain for quite some time.
Let it run, 7.6k, Explicit, for Ambra - body shop/mechanic AU. Ambra wanted something hyper specific, and y'all know I love infodumping about cars. This was a really fun way to show the mundane side of cars because truthfully, I do tire writing about Ferraris and McLarens. This is so closely aligned to the life I live.
We know what we are but not what we may be, 5.3k Gen, for lynn99999 - an outsider POV fic from the perspective of Lesley, the International Express Man, who has to deliver a message to Heaven. Man, admittedly, this was both the hardest and easiest fic to write. The prompt was about a lost package inspired by lynn99999 #RR's books getting lost in the mail. I had so many ideas that I had started and scrapped, but once I landed on the final premise, I had the rough draft done in two days. Humans interacting with the Ineffables is my favorite canon trope.
Might have gone, but what for?, 5k, Explicit, for joyeousness - a 1941 fic. Hey, do you want something sad??? Many years ago, I decided I would only write happy endings (and happy endings *wink wink wink*) even though I love writing angst. So for that reason, I think this story is incomplete because it ends on an unresolved note. After S2, I had this idea churning in my brain on repeat. When I ran it by joyeousness, and they gave me the green light, I was excited to get it down in words. And yep, it ended up being as brutal as I imagined.
Under Pressure, 6.5k, Teen, for She_Jedi - in which Remy (from SDU) and Warlock (from Ground Control) meet. Let's be real. I know it says this is a gift for She_Jedi, but they really did me a favor by letting me write this. Originally, they wanted a continuation of Ground Control, and I had been sitting on this idea of having Remy, an OC from another Good Omens fic I wrote, meet Warlock. I wrote these two series around the same time, and clearly I was going through something since I wrote so much about fucking postgraduate education. I was in my pre-F1 / post-grad-school-traumatized-professional phase. So it was really fun to revisit this when both Remy and Warlock were a little older. I mean, yeah, writing is just one big projection, and I'm staring in the mirror.
2025
My goal next year is honestly to read more. I usually do a companion post with all the fic I've read through the year, and I rarely read anything in 2024. I hate that. A lot. So if you have a fic you desperately want to share, please reblog or drop a comment!
I also potentially have a silly little #RR fic in the pipeline. Maybe.

Poetry & Prose - Web Weaving Resource
To return to the main Web Weaving Resources post, click here.
Poetry:
really really really trying - Well for one Max Lavergne invented Spiders Georg. But in addition to constant, high-quality shitposts he's also an excellent poet. Go read The Best Thing About A Poem.
geryone - One of the most prolific readers and posters of recently published poetry on here. Consistent formatting style and excellent eye for standalone lines that hit.
luthienne - Some great webwaves (called compilations), as well as a lot of poetry excerpts.
firstfullmoon - Pretty much every post on this blog would be a good addition to some webweave. Just a good blog to follow.
Times Haiku - No longer posting since 2017, but worth digging through their backlog for gems.
Prose:
Longreads - Essays that you have to Sit Down To Read that are also Very Worth taking the time to sit down to read.
callisteios - Creator of several extremely-weaveable Uquizzes, and generally just one of those Good Blogs to follow if you want a mix of the kind of high- and low-brow writing & art & memes that make for good webweaves.
cemetarything | James Loveless - If you somehow don't already, follow him. First off, best taste in reblogs you'll ever find. Secondly, an extremely eloquent and funny person. You DO have to be cool with talking about cannibalism.
ELODIEUNDERGLASS - Just a lot of really good (and often funny) personal writing, and good reblogs of writing/art. Like all these Prose recs, I think they are less 'blogs you Consult when making a webweave' and more 'people you follow and occasionally notice & save a Good Tidbit from'.
gallusrostromegalus - Ditto Elodie. Also go read their Family Lore tag.

Todays rip: 16/08/2023
Fell From a High Place (Reprise)
Season 6 Featured on: SiIvaCraft - Volume Alpha Version & Beta Mix
Ripped by Madinstance, Sarvéproductions
youtube
Requested by @pumpkineater6913! (YouTube)
The beauty of the Minecraft Volume Alpha and Volume Beta day is one that really still sits with me, even after having covered it before with M-O-O-G City. As described back then, its a brilliant combination of Minecraft being such a collectively nostalgic video game for people in the gaming community, whilst also being filled with emotionally resonant music. The event was filled with a lot of extremely interesting and impressive renditions and takes on C418's music, yet it feels as it Fell From a High Place (Reprise) was what it was all culminating to. I think its fair to claim that, if Minecraft sits at first place as the most universally loved and fondly, nostalgically remembered piece of art in video game history, then Undertale can't be far off from the Top 5.
What Madinstance and Sarvéproductions have made here, as a dynamic duo of expert arrangers, is recreate the entirety of Alpha - Minecraft's credits theme of over 8 minutes - into the style of several themes from the Undertale soundtrack. With Alpha itself already being somewhat of a medley of previous songs from the Minecraft soundtrack, it turns the rip into an absolute explosion of emotional impact, melancholic yet always moving from one sound and one melody to the next. Many of the channel's more emotionally resonant moments are in videos with added visuals, yet here it feels ever so perfect to be left purely to audio. Everyone's experience with Minecraft was different, everyone's experience with Undertale was different, everyone's experience with video game music was different - you may have only experienced these games through their soundtracks, or only experienced bits and pieces of the games. Lest you've never made contact with either game represented here, the rip is emotionally resonant to a degree where its bound to strike a chord with you eventually.
The escalation in rips is oft something I praise for its ability to elevate a joke, but its of course ridiculous to act as if that's all it can be used for. SiIvaGunner, too, is also not a channel here purely to enjoy jokes with a community of shitposters - its a celebration of the video games we love, and the culture of creative minds they've spawned. And though Season 6 was filled with much sorrow, its a season that inspired us all to keep pushing through no matter what.
Just like with Undertale and Minecraft, everyone's experience with SiIvaGunner is different. And there's so much beauty in that fact, that this rip has touched so many hearts whilst having passed so many others by. Its nowhere close to the most viewed video on the channel, which means there's many people who're yet to hear Fell From a High Place (Reprise) for the first time - and likewise, that there are several hundred rips of a similarly unbelievable quality out there that I'm still unaware of.

high guardian spice is to me what sword art online is also to me. better in the abridged version. though for wildly different reasons
#hgs abridged is a pure comedy and it's super fun as this lowkey low budget type deal. it's halfway a shitpost and a labour of love for the#creative medium of writing an actual fucking coherent story#even with all the memes and stupidity inherent to the shitpost abridged show format#whereas SOAA is just. so good like it's amazing Something Witty Entertainment is doing fucking great things for the medium. pls watch it#sword art online and high guardian spice are terrible in different ways. both of them have a couple things in common though; extremely gener#generic and super mediocre#but while hgsa is stupid fun. soaa is like. i wish this was the actual show. level of quality. so i enjoy them for different reasons#also soaa gets like 1 episode every year or two. which. yeah. its worth the wait though#soaa is high art to hgsa's shitpost. and i love that for them#some of hgsa is like. too stupid for me. they used big chungus recently and i was just like... sigh. but other than that it's pretty good.#i don't understand the jojo refrences but like good for them. glad they're having fun#soaa is like. i genuinely don't need to know anything abt soa or anything else to enjoy it. it works as a standalone property#might as well be original work. except it isn't. so the only reason i'm glad soa exists#is so that i can wath soaa#it's just. it's superb. it's that good. there's Some problems with it (I don't always jive with the humour) but the actual like emotional#beats are REALLY well done. you actually kinda like the characters even though they're#objectively worse people than in soa#somehow#it's just. it's fun. i enjoy it immensely#there was a really good choice in hgsa that made me cackle though#and that's the rework of cal's character. that was a great choice#anyway#done rambling... for now...

Slash: Oi! I appreciate that! But I'd say I'm more handsome than pretty.
Flea: And my powers are not that weird!
Ozzie: *unearthly screech of anger*
Magus: ...Okay, I take it back, you're all stupid.

Hey! I just finished watching she-ra for the first time, and I was wondering if you could recommend some blogs and/or fic writers to me?
first off, congrats. i hope you enjoy the extreme gayness that has now entered your life. just don't let it consume you.
second, oooooo boy do i have a bunch. sorry this list took me forever to compile. i literally sat on this for like a month and compiling the list took me maybe 30 minutes 🗿
tumblr users
radsity - art, really fucking pretty art
@swearyshera - she-ra abridged. its good. you probably already follow them.
@turtle-ly - good shitposts. has a lot of content and has 300+ shitposts stocked up, so expect content for a long time
kaereth - art, lots of older content but still doing shera stuff occasionally from kofis
miledibuja - art, comics, standalones, my profile pic :)
@catradoratwtgoodies - posts good content from twitter and or reblogs spop stuff
@ao3feed-catradora - literally just a bot that posts new fics from ao3 under the catradora tag. but ive found a lot of fics from it so its here
@incorrect-quotes-from-she-ra - i am gonna plug my best friend on tumblr here, leo, who has amassed a large amount of funny incorrect quotes for our favorite gang.
wingedcorgi - pretty artstyle and has published several great post/pre/during-canon fics
musenilla - has branched out to other content but still makes spop stuff, great comics and standalones with a cute art style
@nonbinarychaoticstupid - reblogs a shit ton of spop stuff. among other content. but they are still a good source of spop content. lol.
ao3 writers
laurenjauregui - wrote the love simon au. funny, well written, great fics and usually releases chapters consistently. currently releasing scream au
ceruleanstorm - their world building, characterization, and writing style is AMAZING! the upper west side series is 400k+ words and i feel like its half that.
petty_labelle - its always a good day when a new petty labelle fic drops. some of the funniest catradora stories ive ever read
driluth - has written several fics based on show aus
lesbianxcatra - has a bunch of fics under their belt, of varying content and age ratings
sevansevan - really good au long form fics, writes other ships as well like glimbow
DandyVela - break my leg is such a drama i love it.
chellethewriter - has multiple great fics.
ehj - prolific on twitter. also very good short fics, both au and in canon
n7punk - lots of variety when it comes to fics. very high quality writing.
i was going to include twitter users. but i am too lazy to go through those. probably the most important user ive seen in the fandom is el, @ okokcooool, their art is very prolific, pretty, and well followed for good reason. literally their art gives half the fandom life. if u have it, you can check my twitter out @ abssimpforcatra and take a look through my following list for some people to follow
hope this list is good! tried to get the best of what i could remember. a lot of the tumblr users are on twitter, and a lot of the ao3 writters can be found on tumblr/twitter at similar names. like petty_labelle can be found on twit @ pettiestlabelle. their socials will be in fic notes a lot. 🤷‍♂️

in all honesty, i started this account as a silly little sideblog wayyy back in 2020, where i made one shitpost in january and then didn't use this blog again until april.
back then, this was a yujikiri-centred blog, and i would post literally anything that i thought people wanted to see from me. i was coming from another sao blog that had just over 10k followers (rest in scavenge toad meat spaghetti, never forgetti </3) and i thought that if i didn't get at least a thousand by the end of the year, i'd failed.
i had to take a break in march of 2021 after falling out with someone in my personal life that i'd met through the sao fandom. i felt sick even trying to make sao stuff, and this blog became sporadically-updated for the following year.
the first progressive movie came out in december of 2021, and i cosplayed asuna! my mother and i made the cosplay together, and i wore it to the movie! that's also the night i met one of my best friends, who helped me fall in love with sao and remember how fucking nice the good parts of the fandom can be.
by the time i came back in full swing in february 2022, you guys became SUCH an incredible force of love, appreciation and creative input. we had some incredible times that year, and it made coming back to sao feel so much lighter and less daunting. i started writing again, i started cosplaying again, i fell for sao again. thanks to you guys <3
in october of 2022, i got my elucidator tattoo! I've wanted to get it since i was 16, and then suddenly it was real and on my body, and i get to keep a piece of sao with me forever (and i will eventually be getting pitohui this year, too). what else happened in October 2022? well, taylor swift released midnights... oh! and i got surgery that very same day! i couldn't breathe for like 2 weeks, anything touching my chest made me gag, and post-op depression hit me like a tonne of bricks, but hoo boy did we get some high quality posts from it.
we had a good run in 2022 and again briefly in 2023 where i was probably one of the most popular sao blogs on here, from which joyous times we birthed spicy micheal (thanks to @sapphieissleepy <3) and then welcomed his lady friend and their spice rack. we were having so many discussions so often, it's to this day the most fun i've ever felt in this fandom (or any fandom) and i'm forever grateful for having the honour of it happening on my blog <3
in 2023, i started cosplaying... of... a different... variety... on a website... that's not youtube... and it's orange... and you guys have made me feel more fuckin grounded and normal through that than anything else lol. you guys keep me extremely grounded and grateful, and when you (lovingly and jokingly) poke fun at me, my awkwardness, or my weird horny Work Followers, it reminds me how lucky i am to have this space and my work space, because i get to experience the fandom in such different ways.
i changed my url last year! it was absolutely not under the best circumstances (still lowkey salty about the fact i even felt the need to lol) but it feels like a new era for the blog. this is the only url a lot of you have known me as! hi! hope you've enjoyed my small walk down memory lane for a second!
at some point in 2024, i made the decision that if someone is going to thirst over quinella (while ignoring her actions, or dismissing and diminishing what she had done to eugeo), then i was going to JOKINGLY AND SARCASTICALLY thirst over sugou. this ended predictably, and now in 2025, i have made a moodboard for our married life together and lana del rey was in my top artists in my spotify wrapped. oh dear.
there were also a lot of shitty things that happened (*cough cough* end of 2023 *cough cough*) that i don't want to mention here, but you guys have been so so extremely loving and wonderful, and you've made me genuinely thrilled to be alive. getting to talk to you guys is the highlight of my day sometimes.
in the five years since i made this blog, i've entirely changed as a person. i've gone from being a shy, reclusive loner who wrote fanfiction as a way to cope with stress isolation, and who never planned to make it to my 20s... to someone who loves waking up in the morning most days, who gets excited to go to the gym, who has made so many wonderful friends and connections through sao, who loves my job more than anything, and who has regular readers of my fanfics - something i could only dream of years ago.
and, for the people who followed me for ggo or sao abridged: welcome! this is a small taste of what happens here! i hope we'll get to make a whole lot more chaos together!
WE MADE IT

Since everyone on tumblr has yet again jumped the gun on the skeltel shit I might as well do my part - Young Scrolls is pretty well known in the Elder Scrolls community for doing extremely high quality music videos by modding and recording various ES games and then performing the lyrics by splicing and tuning actual dialogue from the games themselves, giving birth to famous ES memes such as Gucci Sheogorath and Dagothwave Truly high effort shitposting

Abyssal Speedmapping Session #10
By various authors led by Obsidian
10 maps
2014
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/a-c/abyspe10
Tumblr media
MAP01: Dirge of the Blighted Ovum by Obsidian
The introduction to this new project throws us into a small, compact map that seems reminiscent of fireblu but in a more attractive way. The glitched visuals and the use of two-color textures remind me of Tron, creating an interesting environment that matches the square box architecture. With only a handful of monsters, the action unfolds quickly in effective single combat that works to keep us on our toes. With no secrets or further exploration, this map works effectively without needing to be extremely complex or bombastic. A solid example of a good introduction. 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP02: Tyson Fun! by Darsycho
As short as the previous one but with a simpler style and more adaptable to the eyes. This is a classic map in terms of structure and design, without major revolutions or anything special to offer. The title indicates that it is designed for Tyson, but if we bring the shotgun from the previous map it is slightly faster, although doing it in Tyson is balanced enough to offer a good minute of fun. The combat is simple and the layout understandable, go left and then right and that's it, you have completed it. It's not bad, but it's not great either, it's just average. 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP03: Jimmy Has An Essay Due Tomorrow But Instead He's Speedmapping With These Assholes by Jimmy
Jimmy is considered a master of the art of speedmapping, and here we can see that even in his early days he was able to handle the concept in a theatrical and fantastic way. This is a medium sized map with a more practical and classic design that shows us an interesting facet of the project. With simple but attractive visuals and a decent queue of enemies, the map follows half-traditional routes that create an environment quite attractive and entertaining to play, as well as slightly challenging at times. While my enjoyment was being quite high due to the map's great length, it is interrupted with a stupid exit at the end of the map that I still don't understand exactly how to overcome. A dozen Archies on top of you and I don't know what the fuck to do. Mind you, this is a common thing in A.S.S. so, anyway, how's that? 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP04: Nazi Tittyflake Tornadoes by Unholypimpin
Such an extravagant title brings with it a map that is relatively simple. This map has an air of shovelware shit, and for some reason that gives me a charismatic charm that makes me feel graceful. It's a simple, straightforward map with no major problems or bugs. On the outside it looks pretty simple but as we go deeper we find some pretty hellish and rusty textures that remind me of Silent Hill, as well as a bunch of blue Nazi sergeants ready to attack us and a few more surprises involving Cyberdemons and a few little spiders. Not bad, very enjoyable and for some reason I can't get out of my head that feeling that I just played a hidden gem of shovelware from the 90s. That's good in my book! 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP05: Cookies 'n Wine by ClonedPickle
Fairly square and open in the beginning, presenting a simple layout with bland combat without much complication. The map then changes to cave-like interiors and launches us into an adventure of hunting spectres and so on. It ends with an obligatory death-exit, in my opinion, and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. This is a fairly simple map that is not complicated at all and follows a somewhat boring system at times. With quite simple visuals and without much work, it is probably one of the most mediocre of the WAD. 2/5
Tumblr media
MAP06: Spatterblue 2: Mosh Galosh by Alfonzo
It is hard to believe that this map is a speedmap, but the truth is that it contains certain features that give it that air, but above all, it overcomes the restrictions and works perfectly well under its limits. The blue visual theme and the compact but excellent way of creating a well designed circuit layout make this a very enjoyable and challenging map under its own justifiable terms. It is fast, intense and has a good flow with no bugs or major problems. Even the little secrets feel like they blend perfectly under the established system. It may be quite small, but it's so much fun that it's among my favorites of this session. Pretty cool and done as it should be. Speedmapping done right! 4/5
Tumblr media
MAP07: Industrial Butt Scream by Rottking
If you like Quake, this map will give you a good game. Quite brown, enclosed and with an industrial feel. Designed with a system based on a block layout, the map is simple in its flow but has enough touches to make it entertaining, attractive and fun in gameplay and action. Without major complications and with a basic closed layout. Not bad at all! 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP08: Alfonzo and Gary Oldman Visit The Museum of Social Decay! by Tarnsman
Oh oh, I hope you like fireblu and pain. This map has a style that reminds me of the first one, but it opens its limits and shows us a more bloody and intense frontier. Plenty of chaingunners serve as the main appetizer, but things get even fatter when we're thrown into an insane room with dozens of archies and a Cyberdemon for company. With a super simple and compact layout, the real juice of this map is centered on its atrocious yet cool gameplay. A bit bland visually at times but interesting and engaging. 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP09: Avoid by General Rainbow Bacon
More blue and red but in a style that reminds me of a dungeon. This dark map establishes an eerie atmosphere thanks to the silence and anticipation, but ends up being a traditional map with a few explosive surprises near the end. Simple, without much to offer and quite short. Not bad, not good. Decent. 3/5
Tumblr media
MAP10: Half-Assed Fun! by Darsycho
The title gives us an idea of the type of map it is. Half finished, half fucked up, but decent by its own standards. Dark and full of Spectres, the real fun of the map lies in the BFG spamming and the pile of monsters we have to kill. Difficulty is almost nil, aside from the first room that features some fun combat, after that it's just point-and-click or fire-and-forget. I guess it's entertaining enough under ASS's own characteristics to say it does a good enough job. But it's meh in my opinion. 2/5
Tumblr media
End.
Overall:
» Ah, speedmapping. We all love it, we all hate it. An art as old as the history of WADs itself, and one that has proven to bring with it both the worst mappers in history and the best. It's a difficult technique to acquire, but one that with time and practice can yield fantastic results. The very idea of limiting ourselves to a certain set time can be detrimental at worst, but at best, when we give the tools to an artist looking for a challenge, masterful work can result. Here we have a group of illustrious intellectuals who have come together to form a cooperation that is as unique as it is discordant. One where love and hate mix to enjoy one single thing: creating maps. Abyssal Speedmapping Sessions is all about speed, asses and Alfonzo. So, let's dive into this hole and see how deep it goes. After a somewhat long break from the first sessions, I suddenly had the urge to return to this iconic series that from time to time hides more than a few gems, or a total disaster. Luckily, session #10 seems to be a good balance between shitposting and good map design. Very entertaining maps, indeed! Mappers had the option to choose 3 textures from: Erratic Texture Pack 1, DrDoctor Texture Pack and Marcaek's Super Special FIREBLU Ensemble! So most of the maps are quite simple to look at but contain enough touches to establish a good visual rhythm. Considering there are no stock textures, that alone gives it some appeal. Especially striking are the fireblu textures, which create a rather techy atmosphere that reminds me of the original Tron movie. A certain visual touch, from a couple of colors that manage to create enough depth to establish a sense of place. Not all maps are entirely blue with red, and there are a few surprises that turn the color around and bring attractive designs. Quake-inspired maps and some that look like sapphires to boot. Undoubtedly, even if most of the maps have a rather simple and plain layout, no map is truly ugly and some even stand out for having a solid visual quality. The sessions stand out for being crazy gameplay as well. It's often hard to balance something if you have a time limit, especially if it's only two hours, but the guys here know what they're doing... mostly. Most of the maps throw you right into the action, trying to create a tactical feeling that tells you how to move and at the same time how to fight. The maps aren't fucking difficult but maintain a solid and balanced challenge that welcomes all types of players, in my opinion. While certain combat can feel a bit simple at times, overall, each map brings something different to the table and creates a nice variety of treats to try.
