"The bigots up top think we're ALL fucked up! They want us ALL dead!" Hey that's cool dude you're right! Now are you saying this as a genuine expression of solidarity and community, or do you only bring this point up when the acknowledgement of intersectionality makes you uncomfortable? Is it a rallying cry, or a way to shut down people affected by intercommunity bigotry?
#any time someone brings up misogyny and transmisogyny someone says this shit#racism too#and it's just soo infuriating. like yeah okay the government wants me dead#but acting like we have to focus on that at the expense of people suffering from intercommunity issues... we can care about both you know#and it's not great when a space that is meant to be a welcoming exception to the norm still shits on you.

I've managed to curate my small misogyny-free space both online and in real life, and now I'm no longer used to misogyny, it's no longer normal to me. So when I accidentally glimpse it, I'm not desensitized to it, I'm always shocked and unbelieving.
If I notice a m*n talking about a woman like she's 'just some ***' I'm immediately aware that this is in fact a demonic creature who needs to be burned. If I see anyone using a slur against women or pretending women are at fault for any of the world's issues, the hair on my neck stands up at the unbelievable amount of hatred.
Anyone implying that women should be in any way controlled, punished, forced to do anything against their will or dedicate their lives to anyone but themselves, is preposterous and villainous to me, I'm at loss that someone could even think that way about a half of the human population who are creators and administrators of life.
I know I am in a bubble, but it feels different knowing deeply in your heart that all of this is not normal, that casual or normalized hatred against women is absolutely insane, that it's sharp and painful and dehumanizing at every turn. It's insane to realize that women just have to live like this, believing all of that is normal, that I once lived like this, wondering what was wrong with me and why I couldn't just be what everyone was expecting me to.
I think still, if I can make a small space without this hate present in it, without anyone or anything implying we should be anything but free, anything but full complete human beings with absolute control over our lives, then we can strengthen and grow these spaces, and get more women in, have more women experience what life is like when hatred is removed. There is hope for women.
#radical feminism#sensitized to misogyny#i know its everywhere but i have no contact with males#and only communicate with women who see the world trough the female perspective#so yeah misogyny free experience rn!!!#except for you know#healthcare jobs government institutions#but i just pretend these things are not there#so they can't bother me in my safe space#i was not meant to change the system from the inside#i was made to create functional spaces outside of it all#so there would be a refuge#and from a refuge we can build community#>:)

y’all we r not beating exorsexism and misogyny by calling every transmasc that pisses u off a ‘theyfab.’ Idc if they are annoying or have dumbass opinions, literally using someone’s agab as an insult is wrong and treating transmascs as annoying little afabs is deeply misogynistic and transphobic. What happened to just calling people fucking idiots
#trans ppl sound off in the replies I want to hear ur opinions on this respectfully bc like idk it makes me feel crazy#it just makes me rlly deeply uncomfortable to see ppl who generally have fine takes do this shit like cmon y’all we can be better#all saying it tells me is that ur just treating all the transmascs u DO like as exceptions to the rule#idc if ur arguing w the most annoying deeply stupid transmasc in the world it’s not their identity that makes them annoying or stupid lol#using someone’s agab derogatorily is so fucking stupid it’s ltrlly just one step away from calling them pussy boys or annoying women idfk#.txt#what’s crazy is the most egregious example I saw was some1 literally complaining about exorsexism. by blaming it on afabs. then posting lik#‘when theyfabs walk in the room’ to some ‘eeew it stinks in here’ audio on TikTok. saying they had stinky pussies. they were literally afab#hello??? the internalized misogyny is fucking CRAZYYYYY literally yall just regurgitate shit I’ve already heard from cishet men but act lik#it’s ok cause it’s directed at ‘theyfabs’ instead of women. Ok

gonna say, something or someone being misogynistic is on its own a good enough reason not to like it or not to spend time with that person. It's not just that misogyny is so normalised that not watching a show or not spending with someone just because of misogyny is treated as not enough of a reason - it's also that as a woman, you are under constant scrutiny and constantly thrown tests to show that you are 'not one of the difficult ones', that you can 'take a joke'.
But 'your friend keeps saying degrading things about women' is a good enough reason not to hang out with that person or not to go to a gathering. 'i read the last book by his author and it was deeply misogynistic' is a good enough reason why you don't want to read things by that author anymore. 'This comedian specifically makes a lot of mean-spirited jokes about women' reason enogh not to watch that or see that show, even if your friends want to go. 'This content creator keeps going on weird tangents about women' reason enough not to watch their stuff or support them.
and it is especially a very good reason not to date someone.
#last night i rewatched hbomberguy's plagiarism video and I kept noticing how many female supporters James Somerton had#despite being such a giant misogynist#and this sent me down this mental rabbithole of how often it happened that we had a guy in our friend group who was rude/weird with women#but it was just an issue everyone danced around#and I feel like part of the reason is that misogyny alone is not considered a good enough reason not do something#and I can already see counter-arguments like 'so you're saying I CAN'T enjoy xyz'#I'm aware that it's impossible to cut out everything misogynistic and that you would miss out on a lot of great works if you do#but I'm trying to get out of the habit of immediately hedging what I'm saying and describing every case scenario exception#I'm not saying that you aren't allowed to do something you want to (who am I to do that)#I'm saying that IF you DON'T want to do something because of misogyny - that's reason enough#if something you do in your free time and should be for your enjoyment is so uncomfortable and becomes a chore you are doing for others#you don't have to.#and then the last one. the whole can of worms of how many women date men who hate women...

Hot take that was a cold take before HotD but one of the main reasons behind emphasizing Daemon as "morally grey" is so when Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron far surpass him in atrocities you can comfortably say, "Oh. These are the baddies."
#asoiaf#hotd#fire and blood#hotd critical#asoiaf fandom#team black#house of the dragon#anti team green#daemon targaryen#every person claiming#“aKcHoOaLLy everyone is grey except for Daemon who is evil incarnate”#only to then “explain” why the reactionary misogynists arent actually “worse”#is just more evidence that the weird hotd daemon hate is Rhaenyra hate and Rhaenyra-directed-misogyny-apologia in diguise#rhaenyra targaryen#hotd sexism

it is really weird how tumblr develops its own stringent rules of behavior and there are such specific social norms that feel so pervasive while you're on here but then ultimately have no bearing on the real world. although that's honestly why it's still preferable to me over any other social media platform… cos almost every trend that annoys me on tumblr is exclusive to a handful of chronically online people more or less entirely out of touch with reality as opposed to an indication of widespread societal trends. there are real problems in the world and none of them are reflected in whatever fad is currently oversaturating my tumblr dashboard

intensely funny to see people freaking out at tommy mentioning the dsmp like I don’t even watch him much lately but he takes any opportunity to bring it up he fucking loves that server and c!tommy y'all literally haven’t watched a single one of his videos ever in your life.
#like TommyInnit is legit probably the biggest dsmp fan#I mean green asshole clearly didn’t give a shit about it except to continue his favourite hobby of intense misogyny#and making sex jokes about children can’t forget that

pretty please, my fellow progressives
Could we please all keep in mind that the concept of "The Jews In General, or A Specific Type Of Jew, Controls Education, Government, Media, and/or Banking", is a longstanding antisemitic trope?
And most of all, that it is false??
No, a marginalized group does not also control education, the government, the media, and/or banking?
No, Jews do not secretly control these things and just pretend to be marginalized? No, Jews have not secretly been accumulating power since the Holocaust, granted by too-generous gentiles, out of pity?
No, it isn't better if you just mean a specific subgroup or kind of Jews. It's still specifically Jews.
It's like when people who hate trans/queer people are fine with rich white cis gay men. So they think it's not bigoted to blame "people with blue hair and pronouns" for the downfall of society.
We all know this means, "I only see some of you as human like me. You have to speak and act a certain way to count. Everyone in your group has to pass a test to get into the Good group."
Doesn't work.
Sure, it gives them plausible deniability to the people who matter to them. But everyone else can see exactly how they feel.
We've all known for years that it's bad to think of a marginalized group as having some "good ones." Rein it the heck in, please.
Because YES, all of those examples are ones I've seen implied, or stated outright, over and over, within the progressive community. This month alone.
#antisemitism#anti-semitic#yes this is about how gentiles use zionism#yes this is about how fast it went from 'this isn't NECESSARILY antisemitic' to 'this ISN'T antisemitic'#yes this is about claiming that we claim antisemitism to deflect valid criticism#yes this is part of a larger pattern of violating every progressive standard but only for jews#none of us would ever say 'people are just claiming misogyny to deflect valid criticism'#we would never claim that trans people secretly control or “influence” the government#we would never treat Ukrainians like “'noble savages” who need us to speak for them#but we treat Palestinians like “noble savages” who need us to speak for them#we know to center the people affected and uplift their voices in every other situation#but in this situation we ignore the fact that we're supporting palestinians by talking ABOUT them#we swallow far-right Palestinian propaganda channeled through diaspora organizations#while Palestinians in Gaza demand completely different solutions and support#zionists echo Palestinian solutions and experiences because we know people in Israel and Palestine#and we get told we love genocide or just blocked#this is how Hamas propaganda is designed to work. Hamas has systematically silenced Palestinians for 18 years and now it's all you know#it is genuinely terrifying to see the entire progressive community sound exactly like the alt-right while it absolutely insists it's not#we also know to center marginalized people's voices about what harms them -- except the Jews?#honestly I think that progressives listened before Oct 7 and that the “no we just mean ZIONISTS are evil” has done wonders to reverse that#let's be real the zionists-not-jews trope comes from Hamas too#all it had to do was claim it definitely meant Zionists not Jews and that it was the Palestinian resistance and progressives flocked to it#its fighters were calling home from the massacre to boast about how many Jews they had killed. it has not changed.#i suppose that the zionists-not-jews thing gave freedom to unexamined antisemitism that people felt guilty about#but oh my god it caught on like absolute wildfire#wall of words

hate how team green stans jump through hoops to justify alicent’s wrongdoings but then end up backing themselves into a corner.
they want her to be this poor little victim forever stuck at fifteen and ignore the fact that she put her daughter through the exact same thing when she was even younger. but then they also try and say that she was ruling the kingdom for decades while viserys was ill and was the best monarch, and ignore the fact that she was just attacking the heir constantly and used her standing to enforce the laws that were already there. she expected everyone else to suffer and accept their place because she believed herself better than those around her for laying down and accepting her suffering and she attacked those who wanted to benefit themselves and others in a system set against them - rhaenyra fighting for her rightful place as heir despite being a woman. she also silenced others with pain - dyana, the serving girl who was assaulted by aegon (and this was not just a one-of occasion cause the maids were literally shown to be scared of aegon and he is canonically a vile person.)

I think we should stop saying Paul was basically a woman and start saying Ringo was basically a woman, not because it's any less stupid but because it's exactly as stupid and much much funnier
#i don't mean people who say it as a joke that's fine#but there was a time like 2-3 years ago when “Paul was socially and politically treated as a woman” was a serious take people said out loud#honestly the period immediately post get back was a really weird time in this fandom#anyway I'd argue that being emotionally neglected as a child and never developing the ability to recognize your own emotional needs#effectively losing the ability to advocate for yourself#and developing a substance abuse problem to cope with the depression you don't know you have#bc the men around you express their pain so loudly theres no room for you to be anything but okay#is the most quintessentially female experience of any of the Beatles#except they were all men and were all treated like men and that impacted their lives which impacted who they were as people#and denying that bc paul seems kinda girly is so weirdly reductive and somehow also sexist#as if men who express some feminine traits are “basically women” or treated as women#and not as men who express feminine traits#annoys me particularly bc of all the stupid well intentioned advice to women that if you act like a man you'll be treated as one#babe if that was the cheat code to escape misogyny we'd have done it already#but slightly gnc cis people aren't treated as the opposite gender they're treated as slightly gnc cis people#op#paul mccartney#ringo starr#ranting in the tags sorry

I love that Gentleman Jack as a show is advertised as Anne Lister being this swashbuckling womaniser who just seduces the ladies left and right with her rake-ish charmes. And then you watch the show and really her secret is that she sincerely and deeply loves all her girlfriends and treats them like human beings and listens to them and that her heart breaks a thousand times when she loses one of her partners to obligatory marriage and she tells them their opinions are important to her and has deep conversations with them about serious topics that men would find unsuitable and she makes it clear that she is interested in what they tell her. Like...that's her entire secret here. She cares.
#Gentleman Jack#like she's also rake-ish and a flirt but really she just genuinely LISTENS and CARES#and I also like that this show managed to portray an exceptional historic woman who managed to break out of the restrictions placed on her#without accidentally (or not so accidentally) saying: well there you have it. Women should have just said no to patriarchy and oppression.#instead especially in Anne Walker the restrictions and the undermining of her psyche bc of misogyny is portrayed with a lot of empathy

I've noticed a lot of the time male healers are quirky dudes who you wouldn't expect to be healers and female healers are generically kind religious priestesses. Any male healer who is more feminine is presented as the latter as well. It'd be cool to see more female healers who, for one reason or another, you wouldn't expect to be healers at all. Let the ladies play with typical cleric tropes
The only exception that comes to mind rn is L'arachal she's so spunky and funny

#the only other exceptions i can think of are Framme and Rhys tbh#oh wait also moulder#and wrys#probably claude too#smh cant believe there are gender roles in my anime chess#fe#fire emblem#l'arachel fire emblem#fe8#fire emblem sacred stones#misogyny mention#sexism mention#< kind of

Heya guys I greatly appreciate the requests but please remember this is a male/masc/Gn Leaning blog. I don't write explicitly female readers/yuus. Sorry
#its such a double edge sword tbh#twst fandom is so misogynistic because “girls ruin it except for my fem yuu'#or that one girl who was like “dont ship leona with your yuu cause hes mine he doesnt like men” thing#yet most content for yuu is fem reader or fem coded despite this aforementioned misogyny#furthermore most content for Yuu (esp fem coded Yuus) has them so submissive/people pleasing/shy like wheres the flavor#fem yuus deseeve better#but they also have more content unlike male readers#its why i mostky do gn readers tho now cause like gender doesnt mean/determine anything.#BAMF fem yuus deserve a treat#and male fans deserve content#besides i try not to deacribe yuu at all#even stuff like hair cause its an insert not an oc insert its a x reader its x anyone#i do try and write more untraditional stuff abt yuu like them being taller or them being stronger and stuff cause im tired of y/n stuff#ykwim

🔥TERFs
i think TERFs are very similar to incels in that they're a specific manifestation of a broader societal phenomenon (misogyny/transphobia) that have an outsized online presence so people significantly overestimate their political significance
#ask#obviously terfs do a more significant function for transphobia than incels do for misogyny#in that they launder it for 'liberal' / 'left' positions#but they are still for the most part just not the main driving force of this stuff. the UK is a unique exception in that regard#ask meme
