Now that finals are over, I was able to work on my costume armor project. I finished the cardboard mock-up for what will eventually be an eva foam cuirass (breastplate + backplate), which I put over the jedi tunic I made last year because it made the whole thing feel more fantasy medieval-y

sadly the visor died at the convention while i was wearing it (plus i couldn’t see shit and i am already super nearsighted so that wouldn’t be a good idea)

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words on my Cal Kestis cosplay!!! It was a blast to wear around the con, and I can't wait to wear it again!

My mom graciously was the one who made my cosplay, and she did an amazing job!!! She is a very talented seamstress, and I def need to learn how to sew from her haha BD-1 I got from Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland, and my lightsaber I got from Disneyland as well.

My completed Sister of Battle "mini" debuted with a base at DragonCon this year! My first armor and foam prop build - entirely self patterned and constructed. I have even more I want to add and upgrade with this, but I love this cosplay so much and can’t wait to wear her again. Keep an eye out @momocon for me!

no art tonight!!!! i am con crunching hardcore on a cosplay for a convention THIS FRIDAY so. uh. i AM doing "art" debatably but not drawing. i will post pics when it's done though!! and i will try to allot more time for art tomorrow if i can but HOO boy i really procrastinated bad on this thing

Is Shadowheart's armour 3D Printed or EVA Foam? Yes!

A key point I would like to emphasize with this is you absolutely can mix and match materials and methods based on costume requirements! You don't need to limit yourself to one technique.

My sis and I submitted pics of these cosplays I made for Kumoricon last year (tweaked my back and couldn't go) to our apartment's Halloween costume contest and won!! Classic Doomguy with blow-up chainsaw and casual Pochita with pullable ripcord

Gonna be at Kumo for sure this year!! I haven't been since before covid and I'm stoked

Armor painting! Almost done with the torso piece (in this case a full cuirass, since it’s front and back--there are lower articulated front pieces not shown here) of the costume. Next onto the shoulder pieces! The trick will be to manage to do it next time without my cat engaging in periodic raids against the paintbrushes

The full suit- gotta reinforce it all, caulk the seams, heat seal the foam, clear coat it, then paint, but it’s coming along nicely!

Cute lil turn around of my Azure Starlord cosplay. This was the last time wearing it before retiring it cuz she is falling apart now! 😩

I made everything with EVA foam, but the antlers are made with insulation foam board. The marble effect on the armor was achieved using an acrylic pour method! Also I never wanna make another slinger lol
