My Little Pony and Bionicle

They both already have a team of six heroes who gained their powers from magical stones, a deity-esque figure with an evil sibling, a seductive villain with a horde of bug minions, a focus on the importance of working together and the species of the focus society is weak and helpless in the face of all the crazy threats that live in their world. I could go on but let's leave it there.

More importantly, and what I got to thinking about, was what element toa would the Main 6 be.

Restricting myself to the 6 main elements:

Applejack: Earth. This is so obvious it's not worth discussing. She would probably have a pakari (mask of strength for any MLP fans in the audience). A rode (let's the user see through lies) would also be very fitting given she's the Element of Honesty.

Pinkie Pie: Stone. This may seem surprising, but she grew up on a rock farm and is an Earth pony. She's a toa of stone in the Pohatu mould. One wants to make her air, but she was specifically chosen to not be a pegasus during development. She could have a miru or kadin (levitation or flight) or a calix ("allows its user to perform at the absolute peak of their natural physical abilities" i.e. do seemingly impossible things).

Fluttershy: Ice. This was tough. I wanted her to be water (and she could be comfortably), but her shyness and quietness made me think this is the better fit. She's a little like Matoro (bot hopefully without the same destiny). She'd have either the faxon (lets her copy any rahi (i.e. animal) powers she knows that live in the environment she's currently in), the zatth (can call a random rahi, but can't control them) or the unnamed mask of rahi control. A rau (translation) could work too given it lets you talk to rahi. I think I like the faxon best for its usefulness.

Rarity: Water. She's elegant and beautiful and I would've considered her for earth (for her gem-finding ability) or ice (because she's quite aloof sometimes), but she is altogether too dramatic for those elements. Though water toa are often known for their calmness, we have enough who are decidedly not calm and I feel she fits the image of the ocean being able to go from beautiful to deadly. She'd have a kiril (repairs damaged inorganic substances) which ties in to her generosity. I could also see her with a hau (shielding) because of her shield powers in equestria girls.

Rainbow Dash: Air. I was thinking fire but no, it has to be air. She needs to be able to fly. She 120% has a pakari (mask of speed) and tools that double as wings.

Twilight Sparkle: Fire. She's the leader; it has to be her. She's more a Vakama-style fire toa though. She has perhaps a rau (translation, for reading those dusty old books), a matatu ("Levitation would have been a breeze~", a garai ("I actually studied gravity spells thinking it might be on my test!"), a kualsi (quick travel is the closest we have to teleportation), a mahiki (illusions, vide Magic Dual)... let's just say she loves collecting masks and has a suva full of them. I'm going to say she most commonly wears a matatu for convenience (and because she'd totally have a scope attached and this way I don't need to imagine how it'd work for other masks).

This has opened up too many ideas and I could go on all day.

Also Spike is their chronicler. I mean, he already writes letters to the Princess and was Rainbow's official biographer that one time.

Are there any characters who will deviate really far away from what their canon counterpart is like?

Yes and no.

I didn't want to change any of their personalities or traits because they would fail to be the same characters then.

But I have changed aspects of their stories to fit the lore and add some diversity to the world.

I'll touch on just the Mane 6 for this post..

Twilight stays pretty similar. She's from Canterlot and moves to Ponyville at Celestia's behest. She's destined to rule Equestria and take the place of Celestia when the time is right. I took a lot of aspects of both versions of her character, Princess Twilight and Sci-Twi, and combined the two. I want her to feel more like an awkward teenage nerd... because that's what she is.

I think I changed Rarity the most.

She's from Manehattan instead of Ponyville. Her father owns a robotics company (I wanted a way to incorporate Sweetie Bot), and she comes from a wealthier family. But she loses it all when she deserts from the military, which she was pressured to join by her family.

She's saved by Applejack and has only recently started her fashion business when she meets Twilight.

Fluttershy moved away from Cloudsdale when she was young, ostracised from the community after failing Military Flight School.

Nothing else is that different. She still lives in her cottage outside of Ponyville and tends to the woodland creatures.

Rainbow Dash was the best cadet to ever graduate Flight School and is stationed at a base outside of Ponyville when she meets Twilight.

She reconnects with Fluttershy during the Nightmare Moon crisis and learns that peace is a far greater alternative to war.

Applejack doesn't change much.

But I did make her the unofficial Sheriff of Ponyville. Her parents acted as, sort of, guardians to the town when they were alive, so she wanted to follow in their footsteps.

Pinkie Pie also doesn't change a whole lot.

She moved to Ponyville from the Rock Farm when she was younger, and the Cakes took her in. She works at the bakery during the day and entertains the townsfolk at night in the tavern.

Even more good MLP news! Tubi TV has now gained My Little Pony Friendship is Magic seasons 3-9 (whether they'll add seasons 1-2 later is unknown), most of the Equestria Girls stuff (except Mirror Magic and the various EQG shorts), and Rainbow Roadtrip and can now be seen there for free.

Combined with Littlest Pet Shop 2012, Pound Puppies 2010, various Transformers shows (Gen 1, Prime, Animated, Armada, Cybertron, Energon, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise 2015, and Rescue Bots), GI Joe Renegades, Dan Vs, She Zow, Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures, and Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot, how cool is it that a lot of The Hub's animated originals at least now have a new home on Tubi TV to watch legally (whether you may end up using Tubi to check out some of The Hub's cartoons is up to you but not pressuring you)?

Very. And I might, comissoins are open as always(I"m using most of my "me" time for other projects0 . At the very least i've always wanted to do a discord retrospective. But the chance to watch what I missed alone is nice

Though I had woken up at the same time as Michael the day before, as I was exhausted from the whole Saturday, I woke up many hours later than usual, and it took me some time to get up and head out to breakfast; and as I left the hotel towards the same bakery, I realised that there were so many more fans at the hotel as I had previously thought, as I nodded knowingly to others as I headed outside.

At the bakery, I managed to order my sandwich and cappuccino mostly in German, but also purchased a couple of extra sandwiches for lunch later that day, before I continued to the venue, meeting a few other folks on my way there; luckily, I had heard back from Filip about the Goodiebag, and told him that I was headed to the venue, where I we could meet up, hopefully before the event started again.

I politely thanked him for keeping safe the Goodiebag for so long, and headed back to the entrance, where I took some time to look through the bag, finding beautiful art of Pinkamena and Discord on a poster and a shirt, as well as a pixel recreation of a meme on a mug; and in the mug, I found a few sets of stickers and a wristband for PCRP, all of which I safely put in one of the many bags I had.

Back inside, I waited at Patch's vendor stand near the entrance for a while, making a collection of items I wanted to buy, since I had not seen her all day on Saturday, which I mentioned to her after the concerts the night prior; fortunately, she was as kind and sweet as usual, and let me know that their breakfast had run late, but we met up not long after, and I thanked her again for everything.

After we met up, and I had told her to look after herself and Deus, who appeared to be somewhat out of it during Prince's concert the night before, she told me this was because of his exhaustion; for not only had Deus been unbelievably busy for weeks prior to the event, but he had also been running around the whole day to make sure everything ran smoothly, which, fortunately, was a great success.

I thanked her for everything once again, and told her that I would see her around, before I went to the Voice Actor panel in the Mane Hall, where I met up with my friend, and where we enjoyed all the voice actors' answers; the most amazing moment was Mark Acheson's brilliant impression of Ana Sani, the voice of Izzy, in a voice entirely unlike his own, which made the whole Hall erupt in laughter.

My friend and I split up after this panel, and after I had asked PrinceWhateverer for his autograph on the two physical albums I had purchased from him, and had told him that his concert the previous night was phenomenal, I headed to a panel on Ashes of Equestria; and I purchased more fantastic art from LupiArts, shared kind words with them once again, whereafter they gave me yet another sticker.

The panel on Ashes of Equestria was almost over, and during it, I chatted with my friend, who I saw sitting at the fountain outside, and met up with him and many friends on our way outside; and after taking pictures of so many friends, we went outside, where I ate some lunch, and enjoyed music from DJ PON-3's Bass Cannon, where one of the guitarists of Coltastrophe was playing along, for a while.

We wandered around for a little while after lunch, waiting for the panel on Building Sweetie Bot to start, during which we saw the robot Mare walking, or, rather, being dragged around, looking around at a few more vendor tables; but to my surprise, confusion, and dismay, I had spent close to all my bills, so I spent the last I had on a sticker book from CutePencilCase before heading to the panel.

The panel on Building your Own Pony Robot was genuinely hilarious, very relatable, both in good and bad ways, and educational, as the host warned us that everything will break, and advised us to look for help, and to not be too overconfident in your abilities or the lack thereof; but the bot, which was apparently more akin to a car, looked amazing, and I'm excited to see her final design in time!

After Sweetie Bot, the time had come for the Charity Auction… Hold on to your wallets!

what's tailhitch's opinions on Kyle Bully Neil Sliky & Flopsy?

Kyle: Tailhitch thinks he’s a nice guy, he just wishes he’d ask for help every once in a while. Hell, Tailhitch would even cover Kyle’s shifts if he just asked. If Kyle’s bosses said anything Tailhitch could easily handle it. Tailhitch just kind of feels bad for the coyote.

Bully: To be frank Tailhitch doesn’t really hate the guy he just thinks he’s kind of a jerk, they’ll probably never be friends but Tailhitch feels no animosity for the reptile. He’s sort of reminded of his universes version of starscream in all honesty. Loud, rude, and will definitely push you around, but the moment someone bigger and stronger shows up he’ll skedaddle. But he’s probably a good guy somewhere under all the douchebaggery.

Neil: Tailhitch keeps a close optic on him, he knows that this strange new world technically isn’t earth, and as such it probably won’t have the same effect on an extraterrestrial that Earth has had on the autobots and decepticons. So he keeps careful watch on the bee and the skies above the isles. If anything starts going down, Tailhitch will be the first line of defense.

Silky: He reminds Tailhitch too much of his old boss* (slave master) from his mining days before he joined the autobots. He frequently has to stop himself from activating his holomatter generators and punching the moth in the stomach. It’s not even over anything silky says to the bot directly, most of the time. He just has a general hatred for these kinds of people.

Flopsy: Much like with lammy and her weird pickle, Tailhitch has a hard time trusting the magician and his bolo tie. The few times the autobots and decepticons interacted with the inhabitants of equestria were more than enough for Tailhitch to learn to identify when something is magic, evil, and magically evil. Once again Tailhitch is reminded of the decepticons air commander. As just like starscream, flopsy, despite pleas to the contrary, probably never really thinks about his actions or what led him to this point.

You ever scroll past a discourse on here that you’ve been previously unaware of but yet are now totally unsurprised by?

The only time I ever heard about fanfic being packaged, as is and not doctored up to become an original work, was Fallout Equestria. I believe by the fic’s author? I hope? Bronies were something else but I think they would have been throwing hands if somebody was profiting off that author’s work. If I’m wrong please correct me I just do not want to dig down that rabbit hole to confirm.

I knew about AI bots scalping fanfic sites for content, but real human people with the logic of “well, *you* can’t profit off this, but I know you don’t mind….”?

It’s. It’s already online for free. What could you possibly gain by paying for a copy? Why are you paying for fanfic at all? Who the hell is going on Etsy to buy this? I can pull up a bookmark on AO3 on my phone wherever and whenever I want. Are you afraid of the fic creator deleting it without notice? Do you just want a cheap, pretty wall of book spines to film yourself in front of?

I mean fic death happens, but babes, this isn’t the solution you’re looking for. What a world where you’ll pirate an original novel, but pay real money for an unprofitable-by-copyright-law fanfic.

Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

just got banned from Reddit for 3 days for making a comment that was “sexualizing minors” but it’s not showing me what the comment was, the link to the comment says “removed by Reddit” so I can’t tell exactly what it said, but I vaguely remember what the comment said.

The comment wasn’t sexualized at all, it was just talking about ships. The characters in question, Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash are all adults in the main MLP timeline (the comment was about the main show, not Equestria Girls)

I wrote an appeal but apparently appeals have a character limit that is LESS than 300 characters?? How are you supposed to write a good appeal if you can’t even write 300 characters? (Maybe it was words? It was either characters or words)

I’m just so confused. They should have had an actual moderator review the content rather than automatically banning me. As the characters in question were all girls, I wouldn’t be surprised if I was mass reported by homophobes in order to get me banned. I’ve seen people mass report people for discussing LGBTQ content and people getting banned as a result.

it’s ridiculous. I’m not really *mad*, just annoyed. Bot moderation should be used to ASSIST moderators, the final verdict of banning someone should be reviewed manually. I’m worried that I’ll have a permanent strike against my account for a rule I didn’t even break. This is crazy.
