I have,, a lot of feelings about Sonadow growing older
Shadow watching Sonic age, watching as his quills turn grey and his speed slowly falters. Watching Sonic, known formerly as the blue blur, no longer be the fastest creature alive. A bittersweet feeling growing in Shadow's chest. Grateful he got to see the love of his life grow old and live a good life, but burdened with the realisation that one day Sonic will be gone and he will be alone again. The thoughts eating at Shadow every night as he lays next to Sonic, watching his tired face resting peacefully. He becomes laser-focused on Sonic's breathing making sure he's still here. He's still here. Wishing he could spend the rest of his life with Sonic, and not just Sonic spending the rest of his life with Shadow. Wishing they could grow old together.
And Sonic, watching time go by and Shadow never changing. He still looks exactly the same as when Sonic first met him. Beautiful, youthful. Sonic cursing when he can't keep up with Shadow, hating when Shadow slows down and matches his pace, denying that he's going easy on him. He hides his aches and pains so Shadow doesn't worry. He teases Shadow for being 50 years older than him but not looking a day over 20. Sonic lives his life to the fullest, making sure every memory Shadow will have of him is a good one. He quietly wonders if Shadow will ever move on when Sonic passes. Wondering if he'll ever find love again. Wishing they had more time together. Wishing they could run together forever.

#idk why but I was hit with the vivid image of the puppets holding a music box that guides whoever they're calling to down through the caves#Each song different yet the same for each of them#Behold Bruce's first time to the Dollhouse lol#Idk if it's canon to Phoenix's but honestly I like to think that the first doll Bruce encountered was the one that'd eventually be robin#Since he was a child when he fell down in the well and into the tunnels beneath#batman au#bruce wayne#possessed doll au#possessed puppet au#sketch#art#First time down there it's more cave like but as time goes on it shifts#Some of it from them working on stuff and others on its own#The table getting longer and larger as the family grows even if not there yet#The puppets know when to emerge from the shadows and join the others at the table#I like to think the patriarch puppet is damaged the first time Bruce goes down#maybe mimicking a certain father's wounds before he died but maybe not still debating that#god i love this au#Honestly their eyes are empty like sockets because they don't have the lights or glass yet#just darkness :)

something something, visited by three spirits that push you to reinvent yourself
and meanwhile, the three mother-type figures in Adora's life were all key to her to figuring out what she really wanted and who she wanted to be but literally...
Light Hope "died" trying to right a wrong from the PAST
Queen Angella died trying to preserve Adora's PRESENT
and Shadow Weaver died to give Adora a chance at a FUTURE
#I could say this more intelligenty with time but this just occurred to me and I'm making it your problem#Shadow Weaver as the terrifying faceless cloaked figure#then her last words being 'this is only the beginning for you' as she bought them time (in the long and short term)#light hope essentially ending the world because of old programming from a long dead race of colonizers#then letting herself be destroyed over memories that should have been deleted bc she regretted what happened with mara#and the way the way the crystal castle gave you a tour of moments of your past like the first spirit#meanwhile angella was just trying to close the portal to save the present aka the life they had right now#but of course her staying behind completely altered the present for everyone especially glimmer#and meanwhile each of these losses served as key moments in Adora's journey (pos change arc if ur nasty)#and she emerged on the other side realizing it was not too late to change and make a new world#spop#shera#she ra#queen angella#light hope#shadow weaver#adora#a christmas carol#meta#do you see what I'm getting at?#this all started because I was picturing the three of them as ghosts at the end watching her Star wars style
