It has come to my attention that Namik Paul has been cast as a lead for a new TV show (begs to every god possible that it is not a supernatural show), and therefore this would also bring my return to tellywood because we all know that I am a downright slut for that man (like I watched the first 3 weeks of Kawach for him) and watching him act again is honestly a godsend.

Okay Indian serials what the actual fuck (Tw mentions of assault, violence, cursing maybe?)
First, the basic storyline of every fucking indian serial ever: A misogynistic man (he is forever droning on about how women are not trustworthy, fickle, horrid things like...get help?! All characters around him are concerned and will once in a while say deep stuff like: That's not true 🥺😢 and immediately give up when he goes on a tragical journey to the past and generalises all women because his mother/ex/best friend fucked him/his father over) and a woman who makes him believe all women are bitches except her. The dude can be a horrible person in general, but he'll usually be unrealistically rich for someone who goes to work four times during 400 episode run of the show, he is a wrist grabbing, hand tugging, forever irritable, childish, immediately jumping to conclusions jerk whose only 'redeeming quality' is that he doesn't assault women, sure he'll come close a few times and it's supposed to make the audience empathise with the plight of the otherwise perfect female lead I suppose (I say otherwise perfect because, she has not one flaw except being too selfless which is not even a flaw, she cooks like a MasterChef, she may or may not be well educated but she's woke and kind and attentive and intelligent, so much gone to waste because of her I can fix him phase she'll forever be stuck in) but it only makes the viewers irritated (when I say viewers I'm simply projecting my views on anyone who'll listen). Anyway, you sit through the show because the leads are good looking and have great chemistry to the extent that it makes you feel iffy just watching the serial with your mother even though the closest they came to boning was the male lead zipping the female lead's sari's blouse (people have done that for me and I'm sorry but the most excitable thing that happened was my skin getting scratched). Anyway you watch the show, it's horrid and has gone completely off tracks, you wonder if the writer's are mixing it up with another show (s), the characters are inconsistent and mean (except the female lead and yet she frustrates me the most, like girl be a bitch to people who deserve it please), tracks have gone haywire and you've had your fill of the show when the news comes: a 20 year leap. You are horrified. Never again will you put yourself through this. Two days later you're invested in the story of new characters with the same names and perhaps the same faces and the same storyline. You're trapped in the Indian serial maze.
But for real though, when the male lead keeps talking about how much women suck or whatever, does no one ever question if he's gay like...? Maybe he's giving subtle hints by being an ass! It seems probable, also talks of rape ahead so - I just think it's strange that when women are assaulted by men in these shows, they're told to lean on other men (father, brother, boyfriend, best friend whatnot) for comfort, their uneasiness is not taken into account because women can't survive alone, they need men to rely upon wtf?! For men who underwent a trauma, it takes entire ass series for them to be made to understand the same, other than the forced marriage storyline which definitely always hurts the fem lead more, he's not once put into a corner and made to confront his fears forcibly. I'm not trying to pit two traumas or anything against each other, it's just so entrenched in our society to disregard women, because they barely have any chance to recover from their pain, sure maybe the guy puts his jacket around her and fights for her but that doesn't mean the pain goes away, yet she's back to normal just two episodes later because no show has the time to explore and explain justifiable fear in women especially androphobia, because it's a romantic show ofc, bit men they get a 200 episode show to have it dawn upon them that while their trauma is valid, it's not okay to actively hurt women (especially fem lead lol) and we as spectators call that a redemption arc, idk I just find it wrong, the utter dichotomy with the way we deal with these two things.
I know most shows are shitty copies of that one show that has parallels with Pride and Prejudice (*cough* ipkknd *cough*) but it sucks that we don't allow characters to flesh out, it's often the fan demands that ruin shows here tbh, like that weird kidnap sr scene in ipkknd or stretching Bepanaah beyond the finite episodes it was supposed to air for. I wish we could have a fixed plotline and number of episodes for once, unaffected by what viewers wanted so charcters could be consistent, it really gets on my nerves when characters do a full 180 for no reason, going completely against what their character was, I hate the way they handle trauma and how violence is almost always a normal thing between couples and it's okay as long he guiltily looks at the bruises on her arm/wrist later and apologises when she's asleep (Yes, I'm talking about you Beintehaa), as long as the guy is good looking and doesn't really rape the woman, he can be the anti hero but he's the protagonist and everyone around him cannot hold him accountable to his actions no matter who they are (Looking at all dadis and nanis who forcibly get their kids to marry and then pout when they see their grandson being a dick), I get that shaadis are pavitra and stuff but not when that bs gets this sadistic (every FL who sticks around in the forced marriage because of their family members, literally sit down and at least tell them you made a sacrifice for them?!)
Ugh there's so much to say. And I know I'll still watch this shit because as stupid as it sounds, I can't sit through kdramas and Cdramas because they often make me insecure about how I look, and I can't sit through an hour long episodes each where I can't actually skip scenes because that'd mean losing out on the story (ya hear that Indian serials? I can skip 6 episodes and we'd still be on the same track).
Anyway, that was it from this exhausted Indian serial viewer ig.

Hey, Do you have episode recaps, saat sochs or anything for that matter which talk about the episodes of ekdv? I read your episode recaps on ipk and the saat sochs you had on tanhaiyan and ipk3 and I really loved it. So just wanted to read it if anything like that had there for ekdv. Thank you
Hello!
I used to have a blog dedicated to edkv but now most things related to it are on this blog. There are no saat soch posts but I do have this and this. And one piece of fanfiction. There are also gifs here, here and here.
There’s an edkv tag here and on PS as well :) They contain a bunch of random thoughts I had while watching. I liked Snarky McTall.
Thanks for the compliment about all my content!! I really appreciate it :) I love Saat Soch posts too!! Take care!

Hey, hope you're having a good day TT. Just wanted to know if you've watched KRPKAB and if so is it good to binge watch? I realise Sony dramas are on YT (God bless them) so it would be easy to watch. Also did you watch EDKV or have you heard of it? It was my one true ITV love and what happened to it physically hurt its so sad lol
Gosh sorry this got lost in the quagmire that is my inbox.
I’ve seen a few episodes of KRPKAB and it’s a good enough show. *I* personally didn’t like it much because I abhor the ‘interfering mother between a couple’ plot point, but it’s a pretty acclaimed show, both critically as well as by the audience, so I think you should like it.
I did watch EDKV, until that whole forced marriage plot point came up, coz I was so devastated that yet another show was succumbing to it, esp. when it was so unnecessary for the characters and the show. Ugh. Since then I’ve been in love with Namik and hopelessly waiting for him to do another good show that I can obsess about.

Ek Duje Ke Vaaste was amazing because it made me care for literally every character. All of Shravan’s and Sumo’s family I was invested in and didn’t feel the need to skip anything. As for Ranjit sighh his character and his dad were absolute CUTIES but I don’t think he’s doing anything rn 😪 Nikita is apparently doing a web series and Namik is back to life in his show WOOP so might check that out. Also one question, how did Aditi make it to being a lead in Naamkarran? Her acting was pretty bad
Hi anon, sorry I had this sitting in my asks for a couple of days without getting back to you. I spent the last couple of tumblr-less days at some friends’ place and it was glorious. Anyway, EDKV was indeed amazing. I loved the entire cast except for Nikita/Suman. I liked the concept of Suman, her running her own business, being independent and fierce and all, but I didn’t really take to Nikita’s version of Sumo entirely. She was a little much, I wanna say, in most of her “barking back”-scenes when she and Shravan had that huge misunderstanding and meh…As for Aditi’s character, Preeti really just didn’t have much scope. She was there to give Pushkar (who undeservedly didn’t get the attention he deserved) somewhat of a storyline and that was it. What I wanna say, Aditi’s acting is not all that bad, it was just a bad combination of a rather flat character and a still inexperienced actress, I guess. She’s doing a lot better in Naamkarann now. Still has lots to improve but she’s getting there.

Hello manmarziyan! So obvs Ishqbaaz is your main show that your obsessing about atm but are there any other shows that you have fangirled over at some point in your life? Any reccomendations??????
Hey anon!
Previous/ Finished Shows that I LOVED/Highly recommend are:
•Punar Vivah- OMG this was the very first Tellywood show that I ever obsessed about. I remember watching it with my mom and grandmother so clearly. Me and my mom have a HUGE crush on Gurmeet, the male lead of the show. We discussed the problems that occurred in this show like they were actual important issues that affected us 😂😂😂. I still rewatch some episodes when I’m bored. I highly recommend watching this show if you haven’t already.
•Qubool Hai- Again, a classic ZEE show, and the ONLY show that’s good at introducing leaps. Leaps were always a part of Desi TV, but after Qubool Hai, they became so much more common in Tellywood imo. Also responsible for creating iconic OTPs like Zoya-Asad, Sanam-Aahil, and my personal fave Mahira-Azad. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER FORGIVE GUL FOR KILLING OFF AZAD AND REPLACING HIM WITH ARMAAN. UGH I HATED ARMAAN WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING. Mahira-Armaan were the WORST QH couple and I’m so bitter that they ended the show with them.
• Ek Duje Ke Vaaste- #THISSHOWDESERVEDBETTER. So I started watching this show b/c a lot of people were talking about it, and Namik the male lead was sooooooooooooo hot and I decided to watch it and I definitely did not regret it. You had your usual piece of shit male lead, and your confident, feminist female lead and the two clashed blah blah. But it was so much more. I loved how to lead pair transitioned from a platonic friendship to love interests. It was really such a beautiful show, but the show was cancelled so abruptly that there was no time to properly tie all the loose ends and resolve all the remaining conflicts in a logical fashion. I seriously cannot believe that it has almost been a year since it ended. I really recommend watching it.
•Jamai Raja- I LOVED THIS SHOW. For the first time in God knows how long, Tellywood had a wholesome male lead who ACTUALLY RESPECTED WOMEN, AND WHOSE LOVE STORY DIDNT INVOLVE ANY TOXIC ELEMENTS OR PROBLEMATIC MOMENTS. It’s not often that we get to see a male lead like this, Siddarth is SUCH a well-written character and will forever remain one of my most FAVOURITE male leads in tellywood ever. He was such an adorable and endearing characters that will literally bring the zameen to the asmaan for his wife. Siddarth-Roshni are literally one of my favourite tellywood ship ever. There’s no saas-bahu drama, but there’s jamai-saas drama so there’s that, but trust me it’s actually so entertaining to watch. I highly recommend watching this, BUT ONLY THE FIRST 556 EPISODES. I don’t claim Season 3. Okay. i just don’t.
•Tashan-E-Ishq- Ok I know that this wasn’t the best show, and they writing was a bit meh, but Sidhant Gupta honestly made it all worth it. No one else could’ve played Kunj Sarna like him. I found the Female lead, Twinkle a bit annoying but the lead pair’s chemistry was really, really, really amazing. Idk I have a love-hate relationship with this show because the show was based on a Punjabi-Sikh family, just like me, and they kinda did a poor job of portraying it correctly. The lead pair had a Hindu wedding despite being an observant Sikh family and believed in astrology blah blah blah. BUT things really went downhill after Sidhant quit the show. I honestly stopped watching after he left, the show just got really boring. I’m not gonna lie, I did fangirl over this show pretty hard, some tracks were really good, some weren’t. So, um yeah, watch this show at your own risk?
• Lajwanti- This show revolved around a love story set in the Partition. This show was actually so adorable, and ACTUALLY REPRESENTED SIKHS/PUNJABIS CORRECTLY OKAY. And this was really important to me coming from Sikh/Punjabi ancestry and because Tellywood always fails to portray my people correctly. This shows really close to my heart and I’m so sad it ended so soon.
Last but not least Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo- Oh man this show was soooooo sad. I actually had to keep a box of tissues with me during each episode. It’s basically about a really poor girl who gets sold into sex trade and falls in love. The female lead goes through SOOOO much shit you wonder if anyone actually has the physical/mental/emotional strength to endure so much and still remain so strong, positive and unaffected. It can get a bit tedious at times since it is a show that is targeted towards a more rural audience but overall the show is SOOO good and definitely had a lasting impact on me. Plus, all the episodes are available on YouTube. Go watch it!!! Abhi!!!

For funsies: build your family. Using characters from all the Tellywood shows you watched, pick your TV parents, TV grandparents, TV siblings, TV bro and sis-in-laws, TV husband, TV wife (because polygamy) and your TV enemy. And if I'm missing anyone, feel free to add.
Hi @saucewalalaal!
As usual, you have the bestest and funnest questions! 😇😇😇 I had a lotttt of fun doing this one!

Siblings: Shivaay Singh Oberoi (coz Shivaay’s the best brother in the fucking world, over anything else), Prem Juneja, Gauri Kumari Sssarma, Bhoomi Virani. I’d like to see anyone mess with me with these 4 having my back! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽😈😈😈😈
Grandparents: Lol, Tulsi and Mihir Virani. Let’s throw Baa in there too as a GREAT GREAT GRANDMA! 🙃🙃🙃
The Cool Aunts: Prerna Bajaj, Parvati Aggarwal 😊😊😊
The Not-So-Cool Aunt: Manorama Maami. 😆😆😆
The Long Suffering Uncle who always gives me money when he sees me: Karan Virani 😌😌😌
First celebrity crush: Angad Khanna
First fuckboy boyfriend who’s hot af but I dump him coz I deserve better: Abhay Singh Oberoi 👅👅👅💦💦💦
Second fuckboy boyfriend who I fell for coz I don’t learn from my mistakes: Shravan Malhotra 😫😫😫
Husband: Omkara Singh Oberoi (the old, sensible, pre-DBO one, not this new idiot.) 😘😘😘
Wife: Ugh how to choooooooooose???? Waise hi I’m committing polygamy, so can’t I have more than one wife? I want Anika, Mallika Kabeer ChoudharyAND Svetlana!!!!!!! 😍😍😍👰🏽👰🏽👰🏽
Siblings-in-law: Rudra Singh Oberoi (because everyone deserves a devar like him), Pushkar Malhotra (EDKV), and Najma Ahmed Khan. 👦🏽👦🏽👧🏽
Y’know what, imma throw Ragini and Samar in there too, coz they’re an interesting combo who’ll add some cray-cray hilarious draaama, and much-needed calming sanity to my life respectively. 😂😂😂
BFF: Zoya Farooqi. 👯🏽👯🏽👯🏽
Other friends: Atul Joshi (DMG), Ayaan Ahmed Khan, Nupur Bhushan (MJHT), Lavanya Kashyap. I like them wholesome, hilarious, and suuuuuuuper filmy. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Akash Singh Raizada handles the finances of this place.

Ably aided by right-hand man Shyam Manohar Jha (Daiyya Ho!!!!!!!) 🦂🦂🦂
