Forever an ASR admirer here! 😍
I mean who isn't 🥺✨
Arnav was an emotionally stunted man child 🤮🤢
But Asad Ahmed Khan??? 😍😘🥵 He cared about Zoya soooo much, his character development was sooo ahead of its time
I will be a stan until the end of time. AAK deserved so much better than the crap Gul Khan gave him 🤮🤢🤮🤮

I started rewatching bits of QH1 because I've been in grad school for 2 weeks and I'm already stressed lol. I'm mostly watching for Zoya Farooqui, because she's too good for this world and we don't deserve her. Asad also does not deserve her, but him and Zoya do have some scenes together that actually are very sweet. I know you don't like Asad (neither do I really) but are there any Asad-Zoya (romantic or not) you do like?
I truly enjoyed all of the show (comedy, romance, angst, platonic/sibling feels) until that first wedding siyaapa where Tanveer drugs Asad and convinces him they slept together. After that the show took a sharp nosedive, and by the time that Zoya/Ayaan shaadi happened and Vikrant left the show, it was a flaming dumpster.

Hi jalebi! Hope you're doing well.
Again I just love your blog. Keep up with good work and always keep arshi alive through it. I legit fall in love with arshi more and more every time I go through your blog.
So i decided to give qubool hai 1 a try and it's so good(?) no really.. i finished the whole 300 episodes in just one week. I was under assumptions that it's not worth it and Asad was just another toxic male lead.. which is true, Asad was toxic but then even Arnav was too. But we choose to keep it in fiction only. And now I feel qubool hai was unnecessarily hated (specially because of that slap scene which no doubt deserves the backlash) but apart from that I don't find anything else problematic. Asad voluntarily changed himself when he realised that it's him who's unfit for Zoya. And grovelled (?) like oh my god. Asad crying was such a treat to my eyes. I really really wanted such scenes for arshi.
Something like when Zoya left without a word, gave Asad earful whenever needed (sometimes she's just too emotional and forgave him easily but i guess that's okay) - just imagine Arnav getting a grovelling track instead of the fashion show (which I am not so fond of but I don't hate it either lol) - not something that Arnav would fall in Khushi's feet and all that but the least Arnav genuinely apologising to Khushi, telling her how wrong he treated her before, how sorry he was, how guilty he was - well we can only wish.
anyway I think all those tracks in qubool hai were done better and all of those tracks had something or other importance in Asad Zoya's journey. Also as much as those siddique house dramas I wanted to skip but some were really funny and had its moment. Ayan Humeira were too good as parallel leads. Just disappointed with Najma's story. Could've been better but alas!
What do you think about qubool hai Jalebi?
Hi Anon,
Aww thank you so much <3
I am glad you had a great time watching QH. I never really watched QH much and was never drawn to it, hence I won't be able to make much of a comment.
And no show should go beyond 300 episodes tbh. Very few shows can manage plot coherence at that point.
Best,
Jalebi

Rant
I feel like not everyone can write enemies to lovers in the right way tbh. Like Asad & Zoya are like one of the only well written enemies to lovers couples in media and others should honestly take notes.
Most of the enemies to lovers are just bad boy turned good because of a good girl/gorgeous girl he fell in love with tropes. And mostly there's some unforgivable abuse the male character does which is later forgiven. I'm kind of disappointed in English YA books these days coz they have such toxic male leads in their romance books. Like if I wanted to see a toxic male I'll just turn on a desi TV show like saath nibhana saathiya or something.
I think too many writers of English books are trying to write enemies to lovers when they have no idea how to and just end up romanticising toxic masculinity.
Maybe it's not my cup of tea but I've grown up on Harry Potter and Hunger Games so I would just like to say..........
Bring back my soft boys plz.
I also think there's a difference between Western and desi audience/readers though. Because as a desi person I have seen such lowkey/highkey toxic characters (being redeemed) ALL THE TIME in desi shows so I crave something different, and refreshingly unique. While in the west I think since they've mostly been exposed to the soft, caring kind of male leads instead of characters like Ahem (from saath nibhana saathiya lol) so this genre of boys are probably new to them.

Rant about the season 2
I literally hate that in the beginning dilshad never asked for help from anyone. Why would she go and live in a village?? Zoya and asad had zoya’s api haider and Ayaan. They would lose their shit and that zoya and asad died in a fire and come back to bhopal and get it investigate it so it makes no sense. If dilshad didn’t want to stay in bhopal anymore she could have moved to New York , London or Dubai as they all live there. Alright she choose to live quietly in a village, when she got sick why didn’t she ask for money from any of them. Alright maybe because of her self respect but she could have at least asked them to find sanam a job. And also what happened to Assad’s company like the whole plot was so sloppy and bad like how did dilshad not ask for help at least for saher cuz my girl was LOSTTT for fuck sake and wouldn’t she tell at least sanam that she had a twin sister who got lost . HOW ANNOYING‼️‼️‼️‼️
