something something about e-ming and hua cheng smacking the sword every time it shows the slightest amount of emotion something something being scared about showing emotional vulnerability something something xie lian noticing every single time something something e-ming only comes to life when xie lian is around and xie lian find the sword absolutely precious and adorable and nothing like how others have described it to him something something that's the eye hua cheng tore out of his socket to save humans because it's what his god would do something something xie lian finally understands something about hua cheng and e-ming in the last book something something self-hatred, red-eye, cursed-child something something hua cheng thinks he's ugly something something e-ming is hua cheng's inner child with no filter

I may be alone in this, but I think Hua Cheng would become super over protective of E-Ming if he got a human body. Especially if E-Ming is a small child.

Xie Lian: San Lang he'll be fine really, let him go play. Hua Cheng with a grumpy little E-Ming burritoed in a blanket on his lap: …What if he gets hurt? Mu Qing who was there on business: You were never like this with him before. Hua Cheng: He was made of metal before!

I also love the idea of Feng Xin, and Mu Qing visiting XIe Lian, and there is just this tiny version Hua Cheng sitting next to Xie Lian. They keep side eyeing each other, but don't say anything because they both think it's just Hua Cheng being weird to annoy them. Then Hua Cheng gets back from whatever he was doing and they find out the tiny "Hua Cheng" is actually E-Ming just being a teeny little guy to hang out with Gege.

What breaks my heart is that Xie Lian is tearing himself apart for damaging San Lang's home and being secretive about his intentions there. Meanwhile, San Lang is probably tearing himself apart for pushing a fight when Xie Lian was trying to defuse it, and accidentally hurting him with E-Ming.

I feel like they're both devastated thinking the other hates them now, but really they are both blaming themselves more than other.

There is one thing i loved so fucking much about the second season of Heaven Official's Blessing is Hua Cheng's sword, E-Ming, because i'm sorry and excuse me. The sword likes Xie Lian so much that it allows him to pet it and it cries when it accidentally hurts Xie Lian????? I love E-Ming so much and i need to see it more in fics 🥺
