I think the only Solas romance I could never wrap my head around is a Dwarf one, because of how deeply connected to the fade Solas is and Dwarves being completely cut off. That and the "twitching severed limb" comment. I feel like there is an extra layer of dehumanization in the way he thinks/speaks about Dwarves that comes off to me as borderline revulsion. Like the idea that they don't dream/access the fade normally makes them incomplete.

I think the opposite can be true! Since he knows the Titans were stripped of their power by the Evanuris he might actually be more sympathetic toward them than other Inquisitors.

Knowing him it might manifest moreso as condescending pity 😭 but there’s a chance he really does feel for them

This was a very fun prompt. :D

Concept inspired by this LazyTown fic, but I went with less of an ‘inescapable fate’ direction.

Tony’s been dodging his hereditary curse for as long as he can remember. To be fair, Snow White is one of the easier fairy tale fates to dodge. In these days of celebrity, no one can convince themselves that they’re the “fairest of them all”: there’s just too much competition. Tony co-opts the role of the dwarves pretty easily, and with the threads of the tale already that tangled, avoiding apples is all he really needs to keep safe.

The worst part of it, really, are the assholes who are convinced that dodging your fate is somehow cosmically dangerous. Or that it dooms him to a life of incompleteness and misery, because how can he ever meet his True Love if he’s never rescued from his cursed sleep? As if Tony would be thrilled about being bound to marry a total stranger.

Fortunately, there are some like minded people out there.

“I had a near miss with the car accident,” Doctor Strange is saying as they wait for an Avengers meeting to start.

“The curse trying to drive you down the ‘disfigured beast’ route?” Tony extrapolates.

“Exactly,” Strange says. “That and it was trying to circumvent the life of service trope I was using to beat off the selfish prince element. Fortunately, some versions of the tale include a ‘good fairy’ element, and Kamar-Taj gave me a chance to co-opt that for myself, which muddied the waters quite a lot.”

“Nicely done,” Tony says.

Steve breaks in with a very familiar frown. “Don’t you worry that—”

“—you’ll never find your True Love?” Tony and Stephen chorus together. They catch each other’s gaze and break down laughing. 

“What do you say to dinner later?” Tony asks.

Stephen smiles. “I’d say I’m all for it.”

The cave was cold and dim as you kneeled on the floor awaiting the moment for the creature to appear from slinking dark. Every heavy step you heard, was louder than the next. Tears pricked your eyes as you prayed to any Valar who would answer your plea.

A sacrificial bride, it would be your last day alive. At least that was what you believed awaited you.

Both smoke and dust started to fill the room as the behemoth of a dragon stood proud. You dared not to look past the veil you wore, but from the sight of the beast's massive claw, you noticed the scales shined like forged metal. The fire that surrounded it was warm, but not blistering, more comforting than anything. Your breath quicked as you felt the eyes of the dragon upon you. Eyes you could see through your veil, not gold but instead bore the hue of the sea in them.

You suddenly felt the veil slowly being lifted from your head, the weight of it becoming a missing part of you as you wished you did not have to look upon the beast just yet. Quickly your eyes closed as you felt the claw of the beast being brought to your chin, lifting your gaze to look at it.

Your eyes stayed closed as the claw slowly became smoother and soon felt not like bone but instead skin. The breath of the dragon was replaced by the calming voice of a man.

You both stood there knowing the cruel twist of fate. You lift your gaze to him to feel his hand take yours as he kisses the inside of it. You watch as he grabs from his pocket two rings, both of beautiful craft but look as if they could break with the slightest touch. A low hum comes from him as you bring a kiss to his lips feeling him slip one of the rings onto your hand as he kisses you once more. your hands become lost in his hair as his hold you even tighter than before, as if you were a dream about to fade away. He smiled into the kiss as you felt tears of joy stream down your face. He wiped the tears away as he brought your hand to his lips. A silent promise that he will never leave your side again.

As they set off, Glorfindel waves for Elladan and Elrohir to join him. "I want to come up with a list of all the Ainur-power-related things I did or Elrond did that might be teachable."

They also need to figure out how they're going to adjust group combat strategy to account for big magic swans in the middle of everything — and make sure they don't reflexively attack the orcs.

They also also need to demonstrate the Wizard's Clay again.

Gimli was hoping to demonstrate placing it in rock anyway.

And they still need to come up with those hand signals.

Maglor falls in beside Sharlinnu's wagon.

"Oh, good," she says.

"Let's talk about noise."

Sharlinnu has a lot to say about the noise — how pervasive it is, how wrong, how noxious, how exhausting. The ebb and flow of it according to the Dark Lord's moods and fortunes. She tries to mimic it so Maglor can get a better idea of it — he gets how she feels about it, but that's about it.

She talks about seeing the effects of the noise in others, how it manifests in their hearts rather than their heads and twists them up.

She talks about the loneliness of being cut off from the Song, of not being able to hear the trees and the earth and the sky and the Sea, what should be familiar and comfortable made alien and strange.

Then she screws up her face and says, "I have spent more orc childhoods aware than any of the others. But you'll have to bear with me while I… extract the memories from where I put them."

(An incomplete list of aspects of orc childhood Sharlinnu usually works very hard not to remember:

The hunger, overwhelming all reason and feeling and impulse control until you will eat. Anything.

(Dead Men, dead elves, dead dwarves, dead orcs, live prisoners, smaller orclings if the minders get careless, wounded orcs, wounded wargs, orcs who got careless around a large group of orclings, half-rotted carrion, leather clothing, dirt that had blood soaked into it.)

Usazila of the Hirnedhrim spent her childhood alone in a pit and came out biting everyone and not knowing how to be a person. Orclings were not left in pits — together in pits they would have killed each other and there really was not the space for a pit each — but that's the comparison that feels right, as far as being raised. Orclings aren't raised. They're fed and guarded and kept from dying until they can figure out how to be a person from whatever shreds of their past lives they can find.

There are a few exceptions, probably. But not many.

"Treating Mist like that would have killed him, probably. But I'm pretty sure it never crossed anyone's mind. Mist was— Even before we realized Mist was an elf — which I thought was obvious from fairly early on, but not everyone did — even before we knew he was an elf, we all thought of him as a child. Children are to be cared for and treasured." She shrugs. "Orclings aren't— No one sees orclings as children. Not orcs, not orclings, not anyone."

"…Are they, though?" Maglor asks.

"No, because they have entire lives of experience available to them and they grow up immediately," Sharlinnu says. "…And yes, because not all of them know that, and…" She holds a hand a foot or so from the wagon seat. "When you're about so tall and can't stand or focus your eyes properly, I think — I think you should probably get to call yourself a child even if you can remember a dozen lifetimes perfectly."

Hello Bird!

I am soooo sorry this got buried in my Asks, but excuses aside, this is inexcusably late! I want to say thank you so much for your kind compliments and I am so happy the Thranduilions have found a place in your head! <3

As for your question re: the BIG ONE--The Fates of the Thranduilions!

We know what happens to Legolas. The SotWK AU does not deviate from his War of the Ring participation and Fourth Age ending at all.

Mirion and Arvellas (sadly, tragically, but heroically) are killed in separate battles centuries before the events of The Hobbit.

Turhir leaves Mirkwood in TA 2601, soon after the death of Arvellas. His whereabouts and status (alive or dead??) become unknown to the rest of his family for centuries. Can't give more detail than that for the moment.

Queen Maereth is killed in Gundabad in TA 2793 during the War of the Dwarves and Orcs. 

Gelir is banished and leaves Mirkwood in TA 2800. But unlike Turhir, Thranduil and Legolas know he is alive because they occasionally receive news of sightings of him throughout Middle-earth. Gelir travels widely fighting Sauron's evils, trying to avenge his family, very similar to the way Elladan and Elrohir crusade against orcs with the Rangers. In fact, Gelir joins up with the Dunedain several times and even meets young Estel in Rivendell!

Now for the bigger spoiler!

By the time the War of the Ring ends, Gelir AND Turhir DO reappear and return to Mirkwood to reunite with Thranduil and Legolas! They become a happy (although still incomplete) family once more by the dawn of the Fourth Age and the renewed kingdom of Eryn Lasgalen.

Again, I'm going to avoid going into more detail than that for now, because I have to save some stuff for the actual fics I'm writing. XD

So I know I read something like this back in high-school on LiveJournal or something, but I reblogged a post about Camilla Hect reading Harrow's letter and I was reminded of Legolas

Because Legolas' dad got asked by Gandalf and Some Ranger to look after this horrible little creature right? Keep it locked up but alive, because it might know about something important. How they acheived this is anyone's guess, because Gandalf wasn't at all forthcoming about what that knowledge was. But however it's done Thranduil agrees, and Thraunduil's a king of his word, so they are apparently going to incarcerate this thing indefinitely. And it's an awful thing, it's so shriveled and cringing and weirdly small? Like a goblin-sized extremely old addict, who's been eating toddlers mind, but who Gandalf just literally tortured. Keep in mind, real goblins exist and the wood elves don't try to rehabilitate them, so they could presumably perceive that he wasn't 100% evil

Anyway this horrid little not-goblin can't eat real food, can't stand the sun, and obviously hates being locked in their cellars for over a year. So they let him out on the darkest nights to climb a tree in a clearing under gaurd. Wood elves aren't monsters, and this small being is clearly suffering, and they'll mitigate that if they can. Right for all sentient beings but orcs, Sauron and Rignbearers says Thranduil

But then. Then that little shit manages to communicate(?) with someone(???) while up a tree in the middle of a clearing gaurded by archers in the dead of night, and a bunch of fucking orcs bust him out. Or even worse, he didn't and they have a critical security crisis on their hands, instead of only an extremely severe one. This is not a great look for Thranduil, and now he's gotta let Gandalf know ASAP what went down because, as previously stated, the reason he agreed to house this weird sounding pitiable creature was presumably because Gadalf gave him some extremely incomplete and alarming info about why it was so desperately important he be safely imprisoned

Regrettably, nobody can ever fucking FIND Gandalf, which makes letting him know kind of difficult. A wizard is never late, because you can never actually pin them down for a fucking RSVP. So Thranduil grabs his son, after all the tracking and reapprehension of this fugitive has failed, and tells him to go to Rivendell and leave a message for Gandalf and That One Ranger with Elrond

This is a shitty job. Legolas' home just got attacked and a bunch of his people killed, and now he's gotta travel over the misty fucking mountains to find a hidden bloody valley and tell a literal 1/16th angel, on behalf of his people, that they've completely fucking biffed it. Jury's out on if Legolas has ever really left Mirkwood before, boy's never even been to Lorien, which is just across the river. The only sliver of a bright side to this is he won't actually have to tell Gandalf himself. If he shows up in Mirkwood looking for the afwul ittle guy, his dad gets to tell him what happened. The chances of "the grey wanderer" HAPPENING to be visiting Rivendell during the same day and a half Legolas spends there, probably just handing off a letter and mooching some supplies in a properly diplomatic fashion, approach zero

Then Legolas actually arrives.

So there's DWARVES here, and the son of the Steward of Gondor, and That One Ranger AND Gandalf. Apparently a council is happening, and Elrond's hosting. You guys didn't get an invite, which is pretty insulting, but apparently NOBODY got an invite and everyone just got up independently and decided to come here because bad shit was happening in their individual corner of the world. That's basically unprecedented, and not a good sign, but this is also a great opportunity for Legolas, and phenomenal branding on Elrond's part, really. All these people ended up here with news, and he's gonna make sure they all leave on the same page, and Legolas gets to take all that info back to Thranduil.

The only wrinkle in Legolas getting to be actually present for this once-an-age get together is that Gandalf and That One Bloody Ranger are ALSO here, and that's a little embarrassing, really. Sucks to advertise the you couldn't manage One Job in front of the DWARVES. But at least it's just that you lost track of one gross little creature, who's probably been eaten by orcs or something by now, so its not the diplomatic disaster it could be.

So everybody gets together, and Gandalf shows up with a pair of hobbits. Obviously Legolas has heard of hobbits, but its perhaps occurring to him at this point that they're Suspiciously small. He's only met one other non-goblin creature that size.

The council starts, and the fucking dwarves go on, but everybody covers the basic situations at home and they're pretty universally Not Great. But then Elrond says ok, now that we're all on the same page, we're gonna cover the important secret stuff. Legolas, at this point privy to state secrets of elves, men and also dwarves, might be puzzled here. Especially when Elrond proceeds to give a lesson on ancient history, starting three thousand years ago. That is a long time ago even for elves, and he's covering what, the fucking rings of power and the last alliance??

Actually, he's covering specifically one ring of power, and it whereabouts. And also that Gollum had it, and it comes up that BILBO did too (what the fuck??) and oh, also, That One Ranger is the lost King of Gondor. Cool. This is fine. Now everyone is talking about how glad they are that Gollum's under lock and key and can't cause any more problems, and Legolas literally leaps from his seat at this point to mention with considerable concern that he's actually not

This is real bad news for all of five seconds, but then Gandalf blows it out of the water when he drops the Saruman's-a-fucking-traitor bomb. And eventually this leads to Legolas agreeing to go on a crazy quest to MORDOR with four hobbits, a wizard, a king, a steward's son, and a dwarf. Literally everything Legolas thought was a huge problem has been revealed to be minor annoyances leading up to the apocalypse

And that's what I love about Camilla reading that letter. She thought she was dealing with some shit. She thought she was going to impossible lengths. She had NO IDEA

On the Nature of the Dwarie (an incomplete analysis and writing of culture, life cycle, and home construction) Post 1 Heavily WIP

The dwarves, known amongst themselves as the Dwarie are quite the proud people. They live under mountains which they themselves constructed in the process of developing their cities and homes.

Dwarie life cycle:

Dwarie are hatched from eggs. Most often in a specific culturally significant field, either atop their mountain home, or in a set of fields close by. The eggs need to be incubated by constant heat, thus any clutch of eggs needs to be buried under a constantly lit and tended fire. The more traditional way of hatching a Dwarie egg is done deep underground, by tidal lava flows. This process is dangerous however for if the lava flows over the egg itself it instantly leads to the baby inside dying, and being transformed into a “Dwarie wyrmling.” a vile serpent which spouts lava from it’s maw, and attempts to eat the other clutches in the caverns alongside itself.

Once born a Dwarie has precisely 400 years of life to live. That is of course if their life isn’t cut short unnaturally early. Dwarie are resistant to non-magical illnesses, and they don’t age in a typical way to humans. Each naturally run Dwarie life always lasts precisely 400 years. They have their life cycles tracked by 4 gems of life.

The diamond years. Named as such because these years are a precious treasure to all involved in them.

(0-approx 40 years):

Dwarie prepubescence and childhood. Frankly they exist mostly as creatures during this stage of life. They have smooth skin, and often sprint on all fours. Their bodies are lanky and the average height is 6 inches, to nearly a foot once the diamond years are coming to a close.

The diamond years are officially over when the Dwarie becomes a true stonefoot. Quite literally as a Dwarie ages they develop a zinc and phosphorous based exoskeleton. The exeskeleton bears the appearance of stone, but when rubbed feels closer to dense, smooth, teeth. This exoskeleton protects them from the world around them without sacrificing mobility until much later in the Dwarie life cycle. It starts developing around the feet. And once the entire foot has been encased in this carapace they officially move on to Dwarie puberty and development into an adult.

The [teenage equivalent] years

(40- 90 approx years):

Ah the Dwarie years of youth. Many this age officially decide whether or not they’ll be staying under the mountain for the rest of their days, or if they shall wander far afield, and interact more personally with the uplanders and their strange world of daylight. During this time their stonefeet begin developing across their entire body. Most typically the shoulders, many Dwarie young men get excited when growths begin appearing across their stomach and chest. Most growths are still underneath where clothing is often worn, as such many Dwarie in their [teenage equivalent] years are

The lazulite years, as lazulite is abundant in phosphorous, and this is the year in which carapace growth is most notable. Socially these growths are a sign of maturity. A Dwarie is now a Man/Woman. (90-300 approx years):

The Ruby years. Named as such because Ruby is the hardest gemstone on the Mohs scale. And only a Dwarie of sturdy stuff reaches this age.

Looking to Track Down a fic

I, unfortunately, suspect it has been deleted but even so confirmation would be nice

I’m unfortunately also unsure of the title of this fic but here’s what I remember about it and would appreciate any help in finding it again.

Ship: Thorki/Thunderfrost (Thor/Loki)

Rating: most likely E but it also might be Not Rated

Fandom: I strongly suspect MCU based on their physical descriptions (dark haired Loki and blonde Thor as well as the fact that they refer to each other as brothers) but wouldn’t entirely rule out Norse Myth and I can’t say for certain if it’s MCU or Thor Movies

Status: Multichapter, incomplete

There’ll likely be some skipping around as I lay out what I remember of the plot as well as some glossing over of certain parts that I don’t remember as well as others.

Mega important Key Point of the fic: Loki is a virgin and Thor finds that super attractive and doesn’t properly penetrate (I’m 99% sure Loki is either intersex or Jotuns are single sex in this AU but he also might be ftm or straight up a girl)

The first key event I remember, though I know it’s not the start of the fic but rather I think it’s one of those “let’s establish their past to catch up to the present” montages, one of them being that it’s Thor’s birthday and he receives a gift from the dwarves (or potentially one?) that he says is for Thor’s future betrothed/wife and while no one says what in it, Loki has an idea that proves to be at least close later

These two fact clash into each other very shortly after Loki propositions Thor as he locks Loki in the chastity he received from the dwarves

Loki, later, frustrated breaks into Thor’s room- I can’t remember if he intended to seduce him or not- and finds the box the body jewelry is kept in and decides to put the rest of it on, which includes a tongue piercings, his nipples, and his clit (again not sure if he has one naturally or if he shape shifted for it) as well as a Y chain from his chest to his clit and cuffs on his wrists and ankles. All of which once he puts it on only Thor can take off.

Thor does, eventually, come back but rather than penetrating Loki like he wants he plays with him instead

Loki wakes up after the act to find the chastity finished and locked in place in both holes and his clit shielded

I remember in the author’s note for the last chapter that the author noted that they’d started with either the one discussed or another after it and nothing else, thus needing to work backwards and build into it.

Things this may also include but I’m genuinely not sure:

there might be an enchanted replica of Thor’s cock that Loki is potentially penetrated by by both himself (when he breaks into Thor’s room) and Thor that sensation-wise is linked to Thor but I’m genuinely not sure

If Loki is intersex I’m 99% sure Thor plugs not only his vagina but also cages his dick.

Following that same line Loki either gives himself a PA with a sound attached that Thor locks in place, OR Loki wakes up after to that addition as well

At some point it’s mentioned that Loki has been away at Alfheim, for a noteable amount of time, whether that is before or after the scene where Thor puts him in full chastity I’m not sure, I suspect after because I have vague recollections of Loki making comments about not being able to get off the whole time

Learning more about Angela!!! I'm so so ready.

I feel like Angela has seen some stuff and KNOWS some stuff that isn't common for Alagaësians.

I had no concept of "planet" then, but that was the right word, had I known it.

We get to hear just how curious Angela was as a kid! Well through her youth. Yes!!! 😭 I have no idea where she's from. How is she the way she is?

Though the globe was--I now know--a hopelessly incomplete depiction of it planet...

Who made the globe? I'm guessing dwarves because it was "on nearly frictionless dwarven bearings." But it's broken!!! Are there any more??

Time was limited. The library could Shift at any moment, . . .

So, let me get this straight after reading some more. Angela was an apprentice and wanted to learn A LOT, that practically stopped, she snuck into a library that is protected by a door, and this door could lead her elsewhere unknown of nowhere? Then:

The library Shifted.

I need to know!!!! Did she wait? It's she from a different time?

But more and more, I had been thinking of Elva's potential to be my apprentice, and obversely, of what she could become without guidance.

Ohmygoodness, the amount of information she giving me is incredible. She's saying so much yet so little. Elva does need guidance though instead of being left to get own devices because they don't know how to be around her or how to treat her like a person.

Wait, I don't remember, what else can Elva do besides knowing people's fears? She can show people things?

Um. Elva seems to kind of like people being afraid of her. Understandable in a sense with how she's treated. But, uh, does she hold a grudge against Eragon? Or just, you know, acknowledging that it's his words that started her life down a path she did not choose and has been limited in ways others could not fully understand?

Although I live every moment with the knowledge, hearing someone else say it--even without understanding the implication or meaning--felt like being stung by a thousand wasps, countless stabs of fear and surprise and pain.

That's fascinating. Alarming for sure. But you can know your fear, but if Elva speaks it to you in her way, you're terrified mentally and physically! That's so odd and scary. Like, yeah, I know what I'm afraid of. Then WHAM Elva just has to say it. That's scary.

Unlike Greta, I had long since mastered my feelings.

Nice! That's very healthy too. Knowing your emotions and not being overpowered by them. You can feel them, but don't let them run on longer than they need to. Know why those emotions are there.

The most common species in Pridaxus. I wont give too much of a physical description of humans because more than likely if you can read this you are one. They are the only species of Pridaxus to be found on all landmasses without migration.

Satyrs

Predominately found in Glimmerier

-can be based on any hoofed mammal, must have legs based on this mammal (bipedal)

-can have any traits similar to the hoofed mammal they are based on (EXCEPT UDDERS), but as long as they have their legs+hooves that’s good

Centaurs

Predominately found in Glimmerier

-can be based on any hoofed mammal, must have legs based on this mammal (quadrupedal)

-can have any traits similar to the hoofed mammal they are based on (EXCEPT UDDERS), but as long as they have their legs+hooves that’s good

Orcs

Predominately found in Glimmerier

-they tend to have tough gray skin, no external ears (only ear holes), dark scleras,

-can have tusks and skin cracks, as well as they can be very tall, most not being shorter than 6ft

Lycanthropes

Predominately found in Glimmerier

-they can take on either a fully anthro/animalistic appearance or a fully human appearance. Some have a genealogical mutation where they retain some animal like features even in their more human form

-can turn others into lycanthropes as well and have a weakness to silver

Elves

-their only unique physical trait is having pointy ears

Dwarves

Predominately found in Elvenwick

-they have a very short stature, most arent taller than 4 ft

-many of their features are rounder, including their very large round ears

-regardless of sex all dwarves can grow beards, and culturally amongst dwarves it is acceptable and encouraged to keep your beard

Fairies

Predominately found in Elvenwick

-similarly to elves they have pointed ears

-they have wings resembling butterflies (and only butterflies)

-full fairies have antennas

Merpeople

Predominately found in Amphinis

-similarly to lycanthrope they can swap between bipedal and with merfolk traits (ie tails, fills, fins, etc)

-they can only be based on fish rather than aquatic mammals

Vampires

Predominately found in Idealps

-have the vampire fangs

-can have pointy if they were born a vampire, and red eyes if they became a vampire while still young

-a bite can transform one into a vampire and they can have pale/ashen skin

-regular food has no nutritional value to full vampires/ vampires who have been such since childhood

-not all vampires have an appetite for blood, depending on the individual they can feast on blood, flesh, emotion, magic, dreams, or life energy

Avians

Predominately found in Idealps

-can be based on any flying bird

-all avians have wings, talons and hollow bones

-some might have more feathers and beaks

Nymphs

-similar to Merpeople but can not switch forms

-can be based on any currently existing sea creature (ik Im going to regret this), but doesnt have to they can just be fish in general

-must have the 3 point ears but can have gils tails etc

Sirens

-they are a subspecies of nymphs but similarly to vampires, regular food has no nutritional value to them. They can feast on blood, flesh, emotion, magic, dreams, or life energy

-Built in enchanting/charming bardic magic

Dryads

-can transform into trees (immobile while they are trees) any type. Their tree form is only slightly larger than their human height

-any damage done in their tree form leads to scars/ injuries in their human appearance

-herbivores

Volcans

-they tend to have tough dark skin, like volcano ash, and little lava like cracks on their skin. They also have dark scleras.

-they are a sub type of dwarf and share their short height

-they are born exclusively in mines or on volcanic islands, and tend to live exclusively Elvenwick or Amphinis

So I was going to write about the Gods of Harmony and how they have a hand in the Polar Gate collapse, but then I snagged on the Old Ones and I need to iron that bit out first. According to my sources:

When the Old Ones came to the Warhammer World, it was in a state of Pangea and Panthalassa. Since the WHW is a mirror of earth in many ways, we can presume it was about 200 to 300 million years old when they arrived.

The Old Ones apparently deemed the WHW to be important in their grand schemes. Originally a tidally locked hell-world with most life fighting for dominance over the thin strip of temperate land called a terminator line, it was terraformed and genocided into a personal paradise for the Old Ones. According to “Warriors of Chaos 8th edition” the world was in a harmonious state before the Old Ones came.

They created the Slann to be their servants and the skinks to build their empire outpost, as that was the purpose of the WHW in the beginning. The saurus were the first of their creations, who carried out the aforementioned genocides in long, brutal wars.

At some point, the Old Ones determined the WHW was to be important in the fate of the entire Galaxy. It is suspected they created the sapient races in order to do battle with Chaos.

The Old Ones were interdimensional beings who travelled realities using interdimensional lanes that cut through warp space. They are almost as old as the universe, having an empire that spans both time and the stars. It is unclear if our universe is their universe of origin.

The Old Ones were beings of “Life and Order” (Except when they were exterminating undesirables I guess) and had been seeding life throughout the galaxy for billions of years. This life, in turn, created the presences within the Warp. It is likely it was the Old Ones, however inadvertently, who created the Gods of Chaos...

The Old Ones terraformed Pangea and Panthalassa into the Known World. This process took them many millennia and the final shape has a purpose that was never explained.

Eventually, the Old Ones would come to conflict with the creatures of chaos spawned within the Warp. It was during this time that they would nurture and uplift other creatures, with the presumed purpose of doing battle with the creatures of Chaos. First, the Elves and Dwarves were made. Then came man, halflings, and ogres, who were made more hastily; some say the Ogres were incomplete whenever chaos came.

The portals either collapsed due to the Old Ones sealing them off or the entities of the warp finally punching through into reality, once held off by powerful wards and enchantments; science and magic were one thing to the Old Ones. I don’t believe the Portals failed due to structural faults; I highly doubt a civilization this advanced would fuck up their portals, especially since this was far from their first one so it’s not like it’s untested technology.

Is there a question you’ve been asked in the past that really stands out to you and you still think about sometimes?

I don’t remember if this was phrased as a question but I had someone comment on a fic that they would take writing classes from me which was super flattering.

What is your favorite part of being a writer? Which parts could you take or leave?

I guess my favorite part is creating my little stories and having entertainment that is like...perfectly tailored to my brain lol. I don’t know that there’s any aspect that I would ‘leave’ necessarily, most of the struggles are part of the authenticity of the craft. I guess I do wish I had more time/motivation to finish all the fics I’ve left incomplete. And on that note: El milagro secreto by Jorge Luis Borges (this translation is kind of mid but the story is so so good)

What is your greatest motivation to write/create?

I talked about this in an ask recently but my motivation is just that writing is something I have to do? Same way you have to eat/sleep etc, it’s just part of my daily ritual. I would be unhappy without it.

What do you wish you knew when you were first starting out writing?

I wish I knew that the majority of writing advice is a form of procrastination and the best thing you can do is just get words down on the page. The rest can come later.

*muzu voice* to completion? ought not to be that bitch but i feel like it’s a three way tie between The Fallen Oak, The New World, and Where Heroes Lie. they’re all my favorites for different reasons.

What is your favorite out-of-the-box quote?

Which of your characters would you say has the most controversial mindset? Why do you say so and how do you personally feel about their ideals?

ok i can finally talk a bit about my new OC! For this new fic I’m working on i’m really looking forward to exploring the main character Hanako’s relationship to victimhood and morality. she is of the mind that being a victim is worse than being the “bad guy” and that influences how she views the violent and cruel things she’s done in the past. personally i think victimhood is something hard to reconcile but i feel like it’s better than believing yourself to be an intrinsically bad person.

If you, when you first started writing, met you now, what would younger you think?
