(Rant about cake mix choices today deleted)
Look at that background, it's hand drawn in pen and ink! My hand just aches thinking about it.

A while ago Dolly released her cake mixes and frosting, but they sold out immediately. I was thrilled to find they were back in stock finally!
Of course, Tenney is a big Dolly fan, being a country music singer from Nashville and a dolly herself, so she and Logan put on a little kitchen concert and helped me bake up some banana cupcakes.
We mixed up per the basic instructions (there are fancy pudding instructions too) including 4 eggs! It’s the fluffiest most beautiful box mix I’ve ever seen.
Then we filled, okay really we way overfilled, regular and mini tins.
Don’t eat the raw batter!
Once they cooled, we frosted and them with Dolly’s yummy buttercream frosting and Tenney picked out her favorite colors of sprinkles.
One box yielded so many cupcakes, but this first batch went likety split!

#DuncanHines#DuncanHinesComstock#DuncanHinesComstockApplePieFillingOrTopping #CannedApplePieFillingOrToppingReview
I tried the Duncan Hines Comstock Apple Pie Filling and Topping and it was pretty good.
These apples were skillet cooked with cinnamon added and later microwaved.
The apples tasted fresh and were a little crunchy while also soft.
The filling/topping syrup was well seasoned with a sweet taste with a light natural apple taste that went well with cinnamon seasoning.
This was sweet but not overly sweet to me.
I would eat this again.
Got at Ollies.

OH wow! I forgot I made such a pretty cake! I am shook. And it probably tasted really good too. Who cares if it is a cake mix.
Chapter 80 - #18 Chocolate Cake
Sul Sul, Gerbits! Today is an easy recipe, we are going to be making a boxed cake. We aren’t doctoring it or changing it at all. We are just making it like the package says to do.
The instructions and measurements are going to be different according to what type of cake mix you have.
We have Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate today, as that is what we could find. So according to the back of the box, we are going to need some eggs, oil, and water. The measurements should be on the back of the box. But, I will still put the measurements and instructions in the description down below.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray your cake pans with non-stick spray and lightly coat the bottom with flour.
Some people line the bottom with parchment paper as well as spraying it. However, if you do not have access to parchment paper, lightly flouring the bottom, helps the cake from sticking.
I will tell you a tip for cake mixes, have a timer with you. If you don’t have a timer, you can use your phone. The key to baking a cake is to not over mix.
In a large bowl, you are going to blend all of your ingredients.
At low speed, with a hand mixer or stand mixer, for 30 seconds until everything is just combined.
After everything is combined you are going to beat the cake mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.
This is where a timer comes into play. Your cake will be unbalanced and look very strange if you mix it for more than 2 minutes. Speaking from experience here.
Once the timer goes off, you are going to immediately pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake them.
You are going to check with your box and see how long you should bake it for. I used two 8 inch cake pans, so I am going to bake the cakes for 26 - 31 minutes. Or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
For the frosting, I used an already made tub of cream cheese frosting. You can use whatever frosting you want, and have fun with it. There is no right or wrong way to frost a cake.
But you should make sure that the cake is completely cooled before you frost it. Otherwise, it will look very crummy and weird.
I know that this is not a “typical” recipe you see on the internet. But you know, I just wanted to share that even I, Briella Flores-Ponder, the master of baking, still likes to make a boxed cake. Sometimes, we need something sweet and something relatively fast to make.
I hope you liked this very strange recipe. Make sure to like and subscribe for more unusual recipes like this in the future. Vadish, Dag Dag!
