Some sketches I drew of variations on bathrooms/toilets I've seen in dreams throughout my life.

Like many people, I've often dreamed about trying to find/use bathrooms in dreams, and while they always vary in design the most common themes for them are a lack of privacy, hygiene, and/or comfort/convenience. Often times there are other people of varying ages and/or genders and in varying states of dress (typically casual clothes but half the time they're in underwear or swimwear if not completely nude), and none of them seem to care about anyone else's personal space or even their own. Thankfully it's never resulted in me pissing myself IRL like a few people have claimed but I usually end up needing the toilet after waking up.

In my latest illustration, I explore the archetype of the wise old woman.

Folktale and myth origins

The wise old woman is a character that often appears in old fairy tales as a bestower of knowledge that will aid the hero in his journey. Alternatively, she can be a moral presence in the story that tests the hero through different challenges. The most well known examples of this archetype are Baba Yaga from Slavic folklore or the Crone aspect of Hecate, the Greek goddess of magic and witchcraft.

The water and moon symbolism

The old woman sits on a black vast ocean surrounded by galaxies denoting her timeless nature. She lives at the edge of consciousness, imparting her wisdom to the astral traveler - the dreamer.

From the Jungian point of view, she represents a spiritual function surfacing out of the subconscious. This function is the feminine instinctual nature of the psyche.

Both water and the Moon symbolize this instinctual, subconscious side of the Self. The Moon is also a storehouse of dreams, ancestry, and emotional ties from past lives that reflect themselves in our behaviors and patterns. This is where the old woman appears in initiatory dreams to signal to us that it is time to outgrow old stagnant structures, clean up our mental home, and revitalize our lives so that we welcome new energy in. The water here also represents this idea of purification of the Self.

The Serpent Symbol

The white serpent at her feet is another symbol of renewal and the life-death-rebirth cycle. The snake is a common symbol found in almost any culture. It’s interpreted either in its revelatory aspect - as a keeper of ancestral wisdom or as a symbol of death, darkness, and decay - the lowest point we reach before we begin a new cycle.

The significance of the old woman in dreams

The presence of an old woman in dreams can sometimes appear as a detached, cryptic or frightening presence to the dreamer. The more we suppress those negative aspects of ourselves or avoid facing destructive habits and patterns that keep us from growing, the more of a creepy old hag she appears to us.

The cross symbol

Lastly, i want to mention the North African Indigenous cultures that i used as reference when drawing her. The clothing and tattoos on her face and hands are inspired by the Amazigh, nomadic desert tribes living in Northwest Africa for more than 20,000 years. The symbol she holds in her hand is a Tuareg cross. Its main role is apotropaic, a talisman made of silver for protection against evil that is given to a person when they are traveling.

The wise old woman archetype embodies both light and darkness. She is that wild, healing side that we find in ourselves when we’re lost in darkness and suffering. She is always there waiting to impart her knowledge no matter how cruel it sounds because she can pierce through illusion. She is truth and discernment.

Shadow Work Astro Observations | Time To 🦋 Break 🦋 BIG 🦋 Blockages ☆

On this day the full moon moves into sagittarius and venus moves into gemini. It's a great time to do shadow work considering the emotional aspects of the moon become aplified in sagittarius and it translates into AMAZING emotional drive for the next few days and the ability to break through emotional blockages.

However these observations do work all the time and for all signs ☆

I also personally believe that shadow work is harder now than at ANY other point in history because of the infinite distractions we have. Some of these observations come from ways of thinking about astro that have helped me work through BIG blockages. So hoping maybe they can have a similar effect on others.

I am not very inclined to social media, but have plenty of stuff that want to emerge from my head for the world to see. Hereby, this is the start of my catalouge of drawings sent into the open.

I primarily use colour pencils and a student's stationary kit, followed by some simple photo edits. Putting it simple, I just use anything at my disposal to bring mental images to life.

This is tied to my mental background and health, hence it might be inconsistent in production. I use art as a form of expression, reflection, and subsequently to grow as a person.

Part Two to this post; Studying its meaning:

My sickness has caused me to be unable to continue most of my studies and activities for the time being, but after seeing this, I had to post one update... (Summary in Blue)

It looks... the same. It almost scares me.

The description of the pendant itself:

There's more research I've done on the entity, but I'll save the words and just tell of their personal connection to my dream:

A demon known for his temper, known for his judgment, and known for his wrath... A being who wouldn't find affection for humans outside of their use to his cause/a justification for their existence. And with all of this, he contacted me; Me of all people, and it's hard to ignore why, impossible even.

There's always been a part of me: maybe a mood, maybe an alter; that's always been so focused on saving this body more than anything else. A piece of me that finds it hard to see the good in anyone, to forgive even the slightest betrayals. A side that remembers every sour word and uses it as fuel to burn bridges.

It's a side that thinks the only path to safety is to cull out those who wronged me; wronged my principle values. Horrible people: rapists and their enablers, aggressors, and neglectors. So much violence inside; and it's only a desperate cry to be safe, to be free.

Always being ignored, forced to endure terrible things so others won't have to listen. It's no wonder someone like Amon reached out to me.

I know there's no affection towards humans or the ruling religion from him, but I don't care; I understand that. I understand what it's like to be used and turned into something so resentful.

Perhaps it is only a sign that he sees me as an ideal vessel for revenge because of my history, but that's not what's important to me. That's not what I want. I just want peace of mind, and if anything else now, peace of mind for him as well. We both deserve the rest.

He sees the solidarity, the potential, reaches out to me, and offers power. That's what he did. In return, I just want the repose of his soul.

In any connection that would be had between me and another, I never want to use them as a means to an end; I want to care about those I bring close. Lucifer, Amon, anyone who would speak to me. I don't worship someone I don't know. That's why I never could worship the Christian's god; I was forced to love him when I didn't even know him. He had never spoken to me, but I was expected to trust him anyway. It was Lucifer who did not ignore, and with him came more power to reach out to others; the protection from spirits with ill intent.

A relationship between me and a spirit should never be based on blind faith, and I resent those relationships who only see spirituality as a tool to get what they want. Of centuries of being used and neglected, of being seen as nothing but a source of shame; I'd be no better than my abusers to do that to them.

Even with all the power promised in the world, it would mean nothing if I had betrayed them in the process. I don't "love" God, I've never even met him personally; but I do love Lucifer. He was there for me. A voice that helped, that guided, that nurtured.

I try to ignore reputations created by exploitative people; reputations of being "too temperamental", "too unforgiving", "too lazy", "too selfish", because it's all only because you stopped letting them use you. I've been called all the same things before.

I don't care if he's an "angry" spirit; a demon of wrath; an adversary to God's ideals; a betrayer to his home. A home that only sees you as a tool is not a home, it is a prison.

He extended a hand to me, a talisman entrusted to me from his emissary; and I will extend a hand back, if only to keep that connection.

I can't be a soldier, I don't wish to live in the name of hate and retaliation. I know that might make him upset. Maybe it will ruin his plans for me, but it's honest. I can never be a soldier. I don't have it in me. I just want to share my love to the Earth; to the sky; to anyone I can. I know when someone is hurting. I know when someone longs for peace.

I don't want an eternity that's just endless work, an endless cycle of abuse. That's not what it should be. We all deserve finality in our suffering; even an eternal being.

The death of old stars become new life; the death of rotten flesh becomes fertile soil; the death of an angel's "purity" becomes freedom in itself. I want to share that.

Even the reconciler and mediator deserve a moment of solitude and conclusion to their worries. No one should bear the weight of everyone else; not even a marquis of demons.

Perhaps this is just an Ode to Amon (I like the ring of that...) but I've always been a bleeding heart to the excommunicated. If he finds the grace to reach out to me, I will do the same. I hope I can help him as much as he does me, as naïve as that thought is-

In truth this could all be affected by what's happened lately and is my brain processing, but I also haven't dreamed about Chris in a while and its therapeutic to share things during times of great stress.

The last dream of had of him prior to this was on the 26/02/2023:

I'm curled up on my couch, and Chris is sitting opposite me on a recliner chair.

He's watching me smiling as I curl up, smile back, and fall asleep.

I'm walking through an oversized mall, a weirdly shaped movie theatre with an entire wall missing.

In walking around outside and there are black viper looking snakes on the ground everywhere, I'm stepping over them and around them on the path.

One of the snakes tries to reach out and strike me in the face but I dodge out of the way and it misses me.

This was from just last night:

I'm in a warehouse building shelves stacked with some kind of product, with Chris and a group of others.

I'm there in an assistant role and have been given a red and black notebook to check over, Chris has been taking notes on things and watching trying to figure out who it is that has betrayed him.

He's angry someone told people something publicly, he said to this person "You owe me after the stuff I did for you"

Im there to help him but I yell at him saying "I don't care, I'm going to say what I think to everyone"

He stares at me somewhat incredulously that I have the nerve to speak to him about it or have it in me to stand my ground and stand up to him about taking a public stance.

He feels somewhat knocked out of control.

There are a few windows in this building, none of them have curtains, you can see in and out of the place. Every once in a while a faint green beam of laser light peeks through one of the windows, like the light from a sniper rifle, we each have to move and hide out of the way whenever the light appears but no actual shots are ever fired, it's just there to intimidate us.

The feeling in my chest is like having butterflies, like my heart is beating really fast even though it's actually not.

He was angry, but he also felt truly, truly lost, like he didn't know what to do next, not knowing what direction to take, like every path was too uncertain to take a step forward on.

I’ve been growing my relationship with Hecate a lot recently! So much so that she’s been in two of my dreams this week.

The second dream I was wondering if any of you could help me figure out what it means?

My sibling and I were being chased (by a monkey? It was kinda weird) and I knew if we got to the graveyard where my grandmother is buried irl, we would be safe because one of Hecate’s domains is a graveyard right? And I knew there were like five or six crossroads just on the way there not to mention all of them inside this cemetery! And I remember praying to Hecate on the way there to protect us. Then two angry black dogs came out of a cornfield and chased us. I knew they wouldn’t hurt us but that we still shouldn’t let them catch up to us.

We got to the cemetery and went to a BEAUTIFULLY fenced in area with a giant black pit. The gate was open and I took only one step inside. The dogs ran past us to the pit and disappeared inside. dream me said out loud “should we go to the cross roads?” and suddenly I was back at my grandparents house in the front yard. Hecate was there smiling brightly and laughing with my family members. I instantly felt calmed.

She turned and saw me and told me to come with her. I grabbed a giant piece of amethyst (that I have in real life) and followed after her. We were headed back toward the cemetery and toward the area with the pit. (she even called it The Pit) and she told her dogs to go inside. So she invited me into the fenced area and I went in further this time. (She also locked it when we left later). She sent the dogs into the pit. She counted them and said they were all there. (I only saw six and was thinking shouldn’t it be nine?) and then nine dog heads poked out of the dark and barked at us.

She mentioned that the dogs could shape shift and that one of the moth’s I had seen before was one of her dogs. And dream me made a joke about the dog turning into a fly next. She thought it was funny and laughed. We leave the fenced area and she locks it behind us. As we’re leaving I said “are we going further in?” Like to see my grandma’s grave and she said “if you want to!” And then I immediately woke up hearing a part of a song I’ve heard before somewhere with a woman singing “I wish you were here.”

So YEAH that was intense. And I have NO idea what it means.
