Is Elyon a Dragon?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
———————————————————————
So by this comment by RSS we could assume that Elyon is deceiving nobles in some way with his business for money. And we know that he has so much money that he wants something money can’t buy. So he likes money, he hoards money, his flower chart says he likes power, and money equals power so that’s why he likes them, he likes the status of being powerful. But also it states Luxury, and what do dragons hoard?
Tumblr media
Luxurious items. And like Elyon, dragons are associated with the symbol of Power, and collect wealthy objects in order to maintain that power:
Tumblr media
It also makes sense to me, in a creators standpoint, to make Elyon a dragon. Dragons are one of the few creature that can be found worldwide in different cultures and stories. Chinese, Phillipine, Mesopotamian, Greek, Egyptian- they are iconic, and I feel it’ll be a really big miss if they didn’t add a monster so repetitively used and entrenched in so many of cultural history.

Bulma: Look, I know Goku can be aggravating, but you have to remember he's not doing it on purpose. It's just how he is. He’s also loyal, and trustworthy and we have fun together.
Piccolo: You know you just described a dog, right?
Bulma: …he did bite me once. But, in his defense, I snuck up on him while he was eating.

So if the kais or.. kaioshins are genderless... but a lot of them look like males and in the Dragon Ball wiki the information on all of the supreme kais a lot are males and some female like supreme kai ogma of universe 5... do they have.. y'know??? Do they even have that??? (Down there.)
I also have one theory of the glind race. What if once glinds are born they don't have a gender but later in life they can choose what gender they prefer to be??? Maybe some prefer to be a female, Some male or maybe some just prefer to be genderless???

Let me tell you my beef with ChiChi.
Not only is she just poorly written, which I find strange because Toriyama also created Bulma, but I digress:
Goku thought marriage was food, first of all. He was essentially tricked into marrying her. Secondly, I recently learned she was already pregnant with Gohan prior to their wedding; Goku didn’t even know what a kiss was far into his adulthood, yet he’s married and has two children.
Besides that, she’s constantly screaming and even throws things at him. Never mind she knowingly married a fucking radish farmer and is pissed he doesn’t make more money? Like. What? Why is she mad about money? They have a good life. Goku might be absent a lot, but uh.. he died? Saving y’all’s asses? Multiple times? Stfu.
People will complain about how garbage a dad Goku is without remembering he isn’t human. Saiyans ship their BABIES off to decimate planets. That was originally what he was expected to do; Raditz expected it when he got there. Goku isn’t normal by Saiyan standards, most likely because of his brain damage he sustained as a baby.
That being said, I feel like Goku is a victim. Not just of DV, but some darker shit too. He’s just too naive to realize it. Which could explain why he appears to avoid being home and why he prefers the company of others over ChiChi. And there’s no way he doesn’t because he always rather be training if he isn’t working the fields.
Just my theory and observations, of course. But I stand by my assessment of ChiChi being the absolute worst Dragon Ball lady.
PS. I’m not here to debate. No one is changing my mind- even if we all know a lot of this is largely due to poor continuity and unhinged writers. Please, keep any self righteous, angry vitriol to yourself.

So for those of you who watched Dragonball (as well as Z, Super, and GT)
People often mention power creep and ask how can “the Z fighters suddenly fight on the level of gods like in the tournament of power?”
I actually have a theory on that.
I call it “Key to Ki” theory.
Goku, Vegeta, and other Saiyans naturally fight and grow stronger in response to the foes they fight. They train and because of their Saiyan DNA they get stronger. But what about the Earthlings? What about the namekians?
This is where my key to ki theory chimes in.
Ki in the dragonball world is like gravity. It pulls people towards it the stronger it is. And the response helps influence others with Ki to get stronger.
Goku and Vegeta training and getting stronger on earth caused a ripple that made those with training in KI also grow. Because it was already pulling others towards them. Just by being around powerful beings one’s power is affected.
And all it takes is enough training to rekindle the Ki.
Prime example. Krillin had let himself grow soft to the point that bullets could impact him. But after a day or two of training. Krillin was able to fight Goku and even catch him off guard. (A feat that is impressive even if Goku was holding back)
Gohan was able to regain his mystic power after a brief spat with piccolo. And then in super he was able to attain beast with only minor training and seeing his friend get hurt.
I think the effect is multiplied even more by god ki.
Vegeta was able to attain super saiyan god without the ritual, just by being surrounded by god ki and some training with Whis.
god ki indirectly affects the growth of others. It’s likely the main reason gods try no to interfere with mortals often. Because just being near them is enough to spark growth.

Vegeta and Nappa, why did Vegeta killed him.
One of my favorite characters of all time since i was a child is without a doubt Vegeta.
I've seen this question being asked constantly so i'll give my take one it now. I know many people don't like the "because Saiyans" type of explanation but one cannot ignore that their nature is much different from humans and is a great part of who they are and why they do the things they do. So my approach is usually try to see what of all that is actually because of their nature and what is just being used as a cultural shield, specially when it comes to both Vegeta and Goku. More Vegeta because he lies a lot as well, and despite being Saiyan his status as royalty changes the usual dynamic a bit compared to others of his own species. (note that i watched the latin version so my interpretation of the character might be different from that of the english one)
So regarding the topic:
Tumblr media
Realistically and sadly, as much as I like this alternate reality people usually like to portray of Nappa being Vegeta's assigned babysitter, taking care of Raditz as well, the three of them being like a small family unit given that they only had each other as survivors of their people's extinction... I think the reality is a lot more complicated.
Being a Saiyan, and more than that the strongest Saiyan by far in their recent history, even stronger than the King himself, Vegeta was capable of taking care of himself better than Nappa. He never saw Nappa as a protector because Vegeta was leagues ahead of Nappa in terms of strength and rank. We see that on the first Bardock movie where he treats Nappa as a servant, and even asks Frieza to let him go alone to a more challenging planet to conquer where he ends up killing everyone, sitting on a rock in the middle of a pile of corpses of his own making and eating twinkies or something as he was getting news of his Planet's destruction, thinking already what was going to be his next move and hiding his concern from Frieza's informant. All of that at the age of 5.
He never saw Nappa as akin to family because for as young as he was Vegeta was still his superior. Plus Vegeta considered himself smarter than him too, and he actually was even as a child. Vegeta was, on the contrary, protecting Nappa and Raditz, and consequently himself, against Frieza and his men by playing the long game while those two probably constantly screwed up and tried to engage in an unwinnable battle. This kid didn't had the opportunity to be a kid since he was born. Always on a minefield.
Tumblr media
As how I see it, the reason why Vegeta killed Nappa then wasn't only because Goku broke Nappa's spine and paralyzed him leaving him quadriplegic and unable to fight rendering him as dead weight, but because he was years long fed up with Nappa as well. Maybe even with what he represented as the last remains of the Saiyan kingdom and the past since he was perfectly comfortable being the last Saiyan alive as representation of what a true Saiyan was in his own understanding and values of it, considering himself the peak of that and the example for everyone else to see, which being a prince he was kinda always pressured into being that and thinking of himself as such anyways. And Nappa's embarrassing fight was the last drop and the perfect excuse to get rid of him. Dude couldn't fathom something so disgraceful that he preferred to kill him than keep enduring his presence any longer while pretending he cared (and the emotions were kinda running high).
Tumblr media
Even after in GT when he sees Nappa again there's nothing but contempt against him. And you could say anything about GT but what I appreciate greatly of it is the character consistency.
Note: I've been watching DB and Z and it's very clear from the moment they arrive to Earth that Vegeta can't with Nappa's recklessness. When Nappa destroys East city Vegeta is like 'dude, has it ever occur to you that the dragon balls could have been here? You idiot! Don't destroy the planet, we could sell it, don't be a stupid, think, fight better, concentrate, his not fighting intelligent... Lol, by the time of Nappa asking Vegeta for help I can totally imagine Vegeta was thinking 'you know what Nappa... FUCK YOU' *yeet!

daima ep 2 - stuff I noticed, relating to this episode or not
(find me on bluesky for more, I think I might be leaving twittxr soon)
~~~
Three Demon Worlds
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Demon Realm's 3 sectors were teased in some of the initial posters, before we knew there were 3 different distinct areas and 3 Dragonballs/3 Tmagami to go with them. I assume the Tamagami will be in each area above as pictured in the opening. (Water area?! Let's goooo)
~~~
A Devilish Symbol
Tumblr media
Another early tease was the symbol used on these soldiers' armour. Clearly the logo has horns that resemble Gomah, but also we can see the coveted Evil Third Eye in the logo?! Toriyama is a genius. The horns could also resemble Dabura, or maybe any other Demon King? Maybe the main Demon realm as a whole?
~~~
Our New Daima Dragon
Tumblr media
Initially, I saw this random shot in the opening, and I thought "oh no, please don't let this guy be the new dragon." Dragon, you may ask? Well, yeah. Glowing red eyes, purple and yellow theme to match the Daima logo, unseen lower half, and horns that aren't too different from the Porunga we know. (Degesu said he knew of Porunga, but didn't seem to know about the U7 Planet Namek and their DB set, so I assume their OG Demon Realm Dragonball set will also be named Porunga. Super Porunga, maybe, to differentiate. Speaking of that, you can hear Neva uttering a Namekian summoning phrase at the beginning of one of the final trailers. Dorusie is the name, going by other Namekian summoning passwords, maybe? Dorushie?) Plus there's the whole thing of Toriyama occasionally reusing designs, and there's a similar bull design he used in Blue Dragon, where the Shadows stretch out from their wielders like dragon gods do in DB. Howeverrrr--
Tumblr media
What if all the feathers in the opening/ending aren't only a tribute to Toriyama? (That's self explanatory, right? Not to mention the opening lyrics sneaking in his name.) I'm not gonna deny that the feathers are related to Toriyama.
What if the feathers are alluding to a feathered dragon? All the opening's shots with feathers show Goku as an adult, and while the ending's feather bits definitely feel more like a Toriyama homage with the sentimental lyrics, there is a clear shape at the very end... Maybe not just a bird.
Some Lila/Cerise sketches.
In the list, we have:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-A scene between Ladybug and Chrysalis (Chrysabug). The Butterfly villainess is flirting with the Ladybug superheroin.
-Cerise as Super Saiyan (of course, it's a wig !). Because the Saiyan have their names based on fruits and vegetables.
-Clown Lila/Cerise. Chris openly laughs at her because of her disguise. The latter is annoyed.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
I present you a Lila/Cerise's fake identity persona: Narcisse Nero.
Narcisse/Narcissus (flower) - Nero/Black (colour)
I had the idea of this OC disguise for Lila/Cerise by thinking about a ML theory:
What if Lila had a BOY's disguise among her disguises ?
You ever think about how King Vegeta may have been trying to keep Frieza from destroying the planet by exiling Broly (going by Dragon Ball Super: Broly’s retelling)?
For all he knew the Legendary Super Saiyan was just a “freak of nature”; they didn’t have much evidence aside from the weird readings they got when Broly was a baby
As much as I hate King Vegeta (and he doesn’t really give much of a reason not to), he has, unfortunately, shown that he has some sense of self-preservation (whether it’s borne of cowardice or not, it’s a bit hard to say, though it’s usually portrayed as such.)
Evidence (to my knowledge):
1. (DBS: Broly) King Vegeta considered Prince Vegeta IV his pride and joy, cared for him immensely, and wanted to raise him to become strong enough to revolt against Frieza (Note that he never specified that he wanted Prince Vegeta to become the Legendary Super Saiyan.)
2. (DBS: i forget which episode/movie specifically don’t kill me lol) King Vegeta regularly met with Beerus. He had a connection to a GOD OF DESTRUCTION. AND he did his best to try and comply with whatever ridiculous demand Beerus made, like finding the softest pillow in the universe (despite Champa cheating.) I think it’s even been hinted that King Vegeta has made REPEATED ATTEMPTS on Beerus’s life/Beerus joking that he would try to intentionally poison his food. So it’s clear Beerus knows King Vegeta holds some serious contempt towards him.
Long story short, King Vegeta’s a complex character with a ton of flaws but it’s interesting to really dissect his story and motives etc.
Feel free to add to this with your own thoughts/evidence/observations/theories etc. lol I wanna hear what y’all have to say :D
SHORT VERSION OF MY FU Character analysis/THEORY.
Apologies in advance, I want to dump a shorter version of my theory because I have it all bottled up and the main document with all the video and picture examples and such will take some time to put all together. And the new DLC has me all worked up. I'm excited and scared at the same time XD When that document is done, it will be more detailed than this, I promise. I also want to know if other people noticed this too, or if I’m just crazy XDDD I may be reading him wrong for all I know, buuttt oh well, its just my view XDDDDD
Over the years with all these DLC’s being released for Xenoverse 2, I noticed something.
The first DLC Fu wasn’t looking for a friend, especially since he threw “friend” and “buddy” around more in a joking way or only for his advantage to get away with the things he was doing (at least to me) Fu was just there in your timeline to gather energy and create chaos for funsies. He's done things on his own and he seems pretty used to it.
An EXAMPLE of him using the Hero/Time patroller, he says things along the lines of, “That’s what friends do right? You wouldn't let me down right?” (I don't have the exact dialogue on me at the moment, but it happens during the scene if you choose the route to protect Fu from Goku giving Fu time to escape.) Fu seems more like he's taking advantage of the Hero/Time Patrollers kindness when he throws that comment out there. But I believe after that he decided he wanted a buddy to create chaos with (it made experimenting much easier for him too!) and so, begins his quest to find a partner.
Fu had Bardock (possibly a neutral parter??) for a short time as his partner and in the scene where Bardock dies, (who also had a connection with his parents by the way, even though Bardock may not remember it) you can tell that Bardock’s death bothered Fu. Bye Partner Number One. And in the new DLC’s, he gets a villain partner (Goku Black) but that went sideways for Fu. Bye, partner number 2. And in the CHAPTER 2 DLC, Fu chooses someone who is a Hero partner (Jiren) (which will most likely not work out as well)
All the while, Fu’s been trying to become friends with the Time Patroller/Hero by roping them into his experiments (and of course asking for the Hero’s help to take out his Uncle in the second DLC installment). And when he has no one to turn to, he always ends up going back to your character, which he does at the end of the CHAPTER ONE FUTURE SAGA DLC, when he wants you to check out the Future with him.
The one part that cemented this theory I've been sitting on for years, is in the last DLC that was released (Chapter 1 of the FUTURE SAGA).
Goku and Vegeta go off to finish their fight in this cutscene. Fu comments saying, “Those two are something. I'm actually kind of jealous.”
But jealous? Why?? I don’t think it’s over their power levels and their will to fight. I think it's because of their relationship.” Buddy rivals.
There is a pause before he turns and says to your Hero/Time Patroller character, “It’d be really cool for the two of US to fight like that someday!” and then your Hero shakes their head no, to which Fu replies with a laugh and a “just joshing you!” (This part also seems super foreshadowy to me of how Fu's story may end.)
But I am pretty sure that Fu is serious in this part, despite laughing and brushing it off like it was nothing.
I truly believe that Fu wants a partner, or some kind of buddy (Just some type of connection with someone, but ultimately, someone who will be on his side all the way and work with him, not against him) Dude is lonely (and has most likely tried to find companionship with the Main Timeline (canon) characters, due to how he treats them so casually, and it's just not working out. Treat him like a bad guy, and he may just become that) He’s very much an outsider.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get this new scene in the CHAPTER 2 DLC of Future Saga. I am not 100% sure what’s going on as we only have a couple scenes from the trailer, but I believe Fu realizes that your Hero/Time Patroller will always oppose him.
The Hero/Time Patroller will always choose the Time Patrol and keeping history together. (The time for a branch off route to join him is over.) And that sucks for him, because I think he got attached to your character.
I wonder though, does Fu see something in the future and he wishes to change it, ("for the better" in his opinion, like in his speech in the first DLC) which makes contention between the Hero and Fu, going as far as to attack the Hero/Time Patroller with Jiren? Who knows! I guess we shall seee~
Another underrated scene I want to point out.
But in case no one remembers, this is when Tien is attempting to reseal King Piccolo in a container during the confrontation. The moment the containement is revealed, one of his offsprings/servants, Drum, almost immediately disappears from sight.
And soon after, right before KP starts to get sucked in, Drum shields him in the Nick of time and gets captured instead. Have KP not destroyed the container, Drum would have fully been sealed within.
Now I kind of doubt KP did this cause he cared about one of his children (given he one time blamed Cymbal and Tambourine for being worthless over being killed by a human being) and more so did it to not lose a soldier.
But I was incredibly impressed. Even just few minutes after having been born, Drum was willing to risk his life to protect his king. His father. Which is stangely wholesome for an evil being supporting a heartless tyrant.
It makes me wonder if Piccolo Jr. subconsciously recalled back to that memory the moment he rushed over to protect Gohan from Napa’s blast.
Crack Theory Time: Gohan’s family is just a big pun
Anyone familiar with Dragon Ball would know that the characters are often named after food and whatnot, and the same applies to Gohan, Videl, and Pan.
Gohan is Rice
Tumblr media
Pan is Bread
Tumblr media
And Videl is an anagram of Devil
Tumblr media
Now, anyone who’s anyone would know that these are all intentional puns, and that Toriyama obviously intended their names to be seen that way. But I think there’s a little bit more to it than that. Let’s start with the simple one.
Rice and Bread are both grains, and Gohan is Pan’s father, not to mention both are part Saiyan
Tumblr media
Here’s where things get a little iffy
In the bible, the Devil used Bread to tempt Jesus. Videl is Pan’s Mother
Tumblr media
But what about Jesus? That has to equate to something too right? Well, Demon King Piccolo is the Other Half of Kami, who was God. DKP “reincarnates” but more accurately gives birth to Piccolo Jr, and since DKP and Kami are one in the same, this makes Piccolo the son of God, or Jesus
Tumblr media
Piccolo and Pan have a very close mentor-student relationship, led on by Gohan and Videl asking him to pick her up from school (so tempting him with more quality time to hang out with Pan, or the plushies, your pick)
Tumblr media
What about Gohan and Videl? What do they have in common? Well, this one’s the stretchiest stretch to ever stretch. In many Asian cultures, cooked white rice is put out for spirits or deceased loved ones to eat, as a way of honoring the dead.
Gohan is named after his Great Grandfather Gohan
Tumblr media
So you could say Gohan is honoring his Great Grandfather, and also, Gohan and Videl are married. The Devil is a spirit. So we get Rice for the Devil
Tumblr media
So, to summarize, The Devil(Videl) and Rice(Gohan) got together and created Bread(Pan), which was used to tempt Jesus, and that’s the reason Gohan, Videl, and Pan are all one family.
Are we sure Gohan isn't a Legendary Super Saiyan ?
Bare with me I have an idea, now for context I'm aware Legendary Super Saiyan is the name given to DBZ Broly, I am using it in place of DBS Broly's Form as it is easier and more consistent than the names he currently has for it.
Now what I mean by this is, I hypothesis that Gohan is like Broly, a mutant Saiyan, my basis for this is the sheer rage they both share.
now, that isn't to say no other Saiyan gets angry or to ignore Gohan's hybrid Saiyan origin, however in that regard if we observe the other instances of hybrid Saiyans neither (for this we observe Trunks and Goten as both are 50% Saiyan like Gohan and have been observed in combat) exhibit the same extreme power boost that Gohan experienced with his rage moments.
Remember Gohan at age four experienced a power boost with his rage so powerful he was able to injure Radius who was multiple times stronger than himself(most sources say Gohan had a power level of 3 and jumped to a power level of 1307, which if cannon is a roughly 453x boost), neither Goten or trunks received such a boost in any arcs they were in, this include future trunks as while his rage moments were more explosive than his younger self's, with the exception of super Saiyan rage which I would chalk up more to him getting Godly Ki by training with Past Vegeta ( though I fully admit this is my interpretation and could be wrong).
From what can be observed Gohan's rage is massively powerful and more potent than other Half Saiyans, which leads me to the only other massive increase Via Rage we see in the series.
In DBS Super Broly, we discover that Broly a mutant of the Saiyan species is able to access the boost of Ozaru form without having access to his tail or the full moon. We also observe the longer he fights the stronger he gets, going from getting manhandled by Ssj1 Vegeta to being able to harm Ssj blue Goku and Vegeta before going Super/Legendary Super Saiyan.
Now assumedly the reason Gohan Was not born with Broly's power level (10,000) is due to his Half human origins, shoving his potential away until his body could handle it (which granted is a stretch though possible as our IRL Bodies hold us back from functioning at 100% as well).
Which then leads me to their transformations, it is widely believed that Gohan's Ssj2 has a higher multiple than other Ssj2 transformations, especially when Gohan is in a state of Combat Atrophy(I.E Buu Saga) during the fight with Dabura who was stated to be as strong as Perfect cell, Gohan was still stronger than him and was able to defeat him. It also never takes long to train Gohan back up to his peak, (I.E Gohan's training with piccolo during the tournament of power that made him on par with that version of Ssj blue Goku )
And this becomes even more amplified when you take into account Gohan's New Gohan Beast form, which I feel like is the equivalent to Broly's Full power Super Saiyan/Legendary Super Saiyan form.
So with all that in mind while I don't believe there will be a twist reveal that Gohan was a Legendary Super Saiyan the whole time it's interesting how alike both Broly and Gohan are, maybe if Paragus was more like Goku or Piccolo Broly would have been more well adjusted and even more powerful.
something a bit more personal so heads up
some tomm (me) lore: i've been a big fan of dragon ball since 2019, was actually a dragonball fanartist for two years straight (was my previous heavy fixation until i caved into mario). i'm also a big fan of matpat / gametheory since ofc 2014 due to fnaf and got back to frequently watching him around 2021.
both HUGE impacts that idk where i would be without them ever interfering my already heck of an enigma life. worse part is the fact i have to say goodbye to them both JUST a day apart. yes mat isn't deceased but the thought of not seeing him as much anymore after JUST getting to watch him again is straight-up heartbreaking. i would still watch and am already fond of the existing crew and 100% approve his retirement reasons. yet it all has been tearing me apart personally. it hurts. a lot. its sad. very sad. but in the end: i'm happy. i'm happy for the memories, experiences, and growth i received with them that i was able to receive in my life. both young and now as an adult.
watching. playing, drawing, and talking about how goku and his friends will get through the next challenge. it's made me love friendship adventure stories so much more, anxiously waiting for the next episode of super every saturday night on toonami. impacting me to become more optimistic and not to be afraid to draw what i really love (fanart). matpat encouraged me to think inside AND outside the box, to question reality and fiction, open to criticism and theorizing in a more bigger picture. wether serious, comedically, or satire, it wasn't just learning about the world or inner depictions of video games, food, or how to style ourselves; but for fun and loving those around you. appreciating the moment and learning at the same time. someone i could genuinely relate to and open my heart back up to older franchises such as mario, learning the film industry as i always wanted to, learn to appreciate food and get out of my comfort zone, and ofc be more knowledgeable of what i wear and how it can impact me. i could seriously just keeping going on and on.
idk how to end this other than by saying thank you. thank you toriyama. thank you matpat. never was it in my bingo card of 2024, but nothing is going to stop me from continuing to love and appreciate the things these two amazing individuals brought into the world, impacting so many lives. 💚❤️💛💙 + 🐉💥
“Where’s Cole and Jay?” “Where’s Wu?” “Where’s Pixal?” Where’s literally everyone else. Where is the entirety of Ninjago. Where are all of their enemies.
Where’s Harumi? Is she off making another gang? What about Skylor and the other Elemental Masters?  Where’s Dareth? Don’t tell me Dareth isn’t trying to continue on the Ninja’s legacy out there. The Upply and Vania? Are they out there doing good, hoping the Ninja will come back? Vinny? Is he good?
What about Garmadon? Or Misako? Lou? Ed and Edna? Ray and Maya? Cyrus Borg? Where are they. Are they not worried about their kids.
What about Clouse? He was sent to the Underworld, he’s possibly with a Skulkin army! And Vex? Vex is there too! He’s roaming freely across the lands! Pythor is still around, probably getting beaten with brooms from old ladies. Aspheera probably broke out of prison the literal day of the Merge, so god knows where she is now.
Were they all just...laying low for a year? Not causing problems? I realize the new Merged land is huge but surely they aren’t just chilling peacefully in a cottage somewhere, right? Like, compared to these guys, Imperium is such a non-problem that I kinda want them to come back just to watch Beatrix get so outrageously offended that shes barely worth the effort while the Ninja kill the Overlord for the 8th time. I think it should be utilized more often that the Ninja aren’t stepping onto Imperium’s turf, Imperium is stepping onto the Ninja’s turf, and they’ll find this out the hard way. By the never ending SEA of allies and villains that keep popping up out of the woodwork
