The motto of the Muslim Brotherhood states: "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our constitution. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."
If "jihad is our way" and "the Quran is our constitution," it would irrational not to postulate that the MB and its related groups in the U.S. endorse violence to change the U.S. constitution and replace it with the Quran.
While some "peaceful" Islamic organizations describe jihad as an internal spiritual quest or an "inner struggle," the term is not typically used by Islamic organizations to describe "peaceful" activities. The Qur'an clearly says:
"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." – (Qur'an 9.5)
And:
"Slay them wherever you may catch them and expel them from the place from which they expelled you. The sin of disbelief in God is greater than committing murder. Do not fight them in the vicinity of the Sacred Mosque in Mecca unless they start to fight. Then slay them for it is the recompense that the disbelievers deserve." – (Qur'an 2.191) Muhammad Sarwar translation.
In the Islamist vocabulary and MB motto, let us remember that the organization Islamic Jihad, which assassinated Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, was not seeking peaceful change. In mainstream Islamic sources, the definition of jihad is predominantly described in terms of violence. As Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, President and Founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, noted in congressional testimony:
The next slide looks at the logo. And I think it's important to understand what they are. They have not changed their logo. And at the bottom, under those swords, which are not peaceful, that are not violent symbol, it says wei du (ph).
And wei du (ph) is from chapter 8, verse 16 of the Koran, and it says "make ready." And it's not the Boy Scouts' "be prepared, make ready." This is a passage in the Koran that refers specifically to battle and preparing for militancy. This, despite them coming to power in Tunisia and Egypt and elsewhere, they never change the symbol and what they are. One would need to twist the traditional meaning of the word jihad to prove that it was actually meant in the peaceful sense of the word.
MB influence in Turkey is also worrisome. Over the past few decades, the MB and their supporters have managed to Islamize a significant portion of Turkish society. The current president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is a strong supporter of their organization. Imagine for a moment what might happen if the European Union made the mistake of accepting Turkey as a member. Turkey could, as it has been threatening to do anyway, dramatically facilitate the MB agenda simply by providing entry visas for huge numbers of Islamists from across the Middle East. They could quite literally flood Europe, which is already facing a possible clash of civilizations, and, even without unleashing new waves of terror, demographically change the future of the Europe forever.
The MB plan to force Europe to submit to their Islamic agenda can also be seen in their strong influence in Qatar, one of the biggest producers of natural gas on the planet, and where the country's broadcaster, Al Jazeera, founded and supported by Qatar's ruling Al Thani family, is the main megaphone of the MB. Qatar lavishly funds MB operations not only in the Middle East, but also in the U.S. and Europe.
That Qatar has been trying to dominate the European gas market was made clear by their support for terrorist groups in Syria to remove Al-Assad's regime and allow Qatari pipelines into Europe via Syria and then Turkey. This terror campaign was not limited only to Sunnis in Syria; it has also been extended to support for terrorist groups in other countries such as Egypt, Libya, and Iraq, which can compete with Qatar in exporting energy to Europe. This level of support for Sunni jihadi organizations could not possibly have happened without collaboration with the MB, which is widely regarded as the mother of many of these organizations.
Attempts by the MB to destabilize U.S. allies in the Muslim world, especially Egypt and Saudi Arabia, also cannot be ignored. Both countries currently have leaders who desire to take their countries into modernity and tolerance, and who deserve Western support.
In Egypt, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has admitted the role of "religious ideology" in the terrorism problem there. He has confronted the religious authorities, demanding that they provide a moderate interpretation of Islam that does not encourage violence. He has even, as president (for the first time in the history of Egypt), visited and celebrated Christmas mass in a Coptic church.
In Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, otherwise known as MBS, has taken unprecedented concrete steps on the path to modernity within the kingdom. He has disbanded the religious police, begun empowering Saudi women, and for the first time visited a Coptic church in Egypt.
We cannot say at this stage that these two countries have been brought fully into modernity. We can say, however, that we have two leaders who want to -- or are actually are -- taking their Muslim majority countries onto this path. This is a nightmare for the MB, whose goal is to return the Muslim world to the time of Islamic Caliphate. Designating the MB as a terrorist group can impede their ability to resist the noble attempts of these leaders.
Adding to this, the alliance between the MB (and its related organizations and sympathizers) with leftist groups in the U.S. can allow the MB to exert huge influence on U.S. politics to benefit their Islamist agenda. The MB's de facto control of Islamic banking can only help them achieve their goal for the global domination of their religious agenda.
Other Muslims agree. M. Zuhdi Jasser, in his 2018 testimony before the US House of Representatives, concluded: The importance of identifying the Muslim brotherhood as a terrorist organization could not be more clear to our national security and counterterrorism strategy. This will begin not only a necessary process of treating the cancer at its core before it metastasizes rather than its byproducts after it has already spread.

Labour's rising star on her mission to abolish poverty, improve health and equality, and win power
New Post has been published on https://cialiscom.org/labours-rising-star-on-her-mission-to-abolish-poverty-improve-health-and-equality-and-win-power.html
Labour's rising star on her mission to abolish poverty, improve health and equality, and win power
Scottish Labour appointed Monica Lennon as Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport last week after Anas Sarwar was unceremoniously dumped from the party’s top team.
Here, the MSP outlines her vision not just for a healthier Scotland, but a wealthier one.
“Recently we learned that life expectancy in Scotland is falling for the first time in 35 years.
Not only does Scotland still have the lowest life expectancy of the four nations of the UK, we are among the worst in Europe.
Poverty and inequality have increased under SNP and Tory governments. Complacency, tiredness and timidity from those in power are having serious consequences for the health and life chances of the people of Scotland.
Poverty, inequality and falling life expectancy are not inevitable. They are a result of political choices.
Poor and vulnerable people are suffering due to austerity welfare cuts (Image: Getty Images Europe)
I’m proud to support a political leader who is prepared to make different choices from the SNP and Tories. Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard has made it abundantly clear that his overriding mission is to abolish poverty and to do so by confronting its causes.
That’s why full employment, a real living wage and an ambitious plan to grow our economy with investment in public services is central to our plans to transform Scotland for the many. Tackling one of the most serious consequences of poverty – health inequalities – is critical to this mission.
In a 2015 report for Scottish Labour on health inequalities, commissioned by colleague Neil Findlay MSP, socialist health campaigner Dr David Conway said: “How we organise society creates inequalities. Therefore, how we organise society in the future can eliminate them.”
Radical change is both possible and necessary to reverse our consistent failings on public health.
As Scottish Labour’s new Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport, I’m looking forward to working with people who are rarely heard to build a radical platform for real change.

My career in town planning has taught me that decisions taken today have a long-lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities. That’s why, as Communities spokesperson, I pushed back on the SNP’s timid planning reforms.
Changes I’ve made will mean the health impacts of development are properly considered before future national and local plans are set in stone. Furthermore, the Chief Medical Officer and NHS Scotland will be consulted on significant planning policies and projects, ideas the SNP tried to block.
Scottish Labour are serious about preventing poor health, as well as treating it. Too many people live in unacceptable conditions that are contributing to poor physical and mental health.
Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard with Monica Lennon (Image: SWNS)
Achieving better health outcomes isn’t a job that rests solely with the NHS. We’ll improve health with better housing, fair pay at work and an end to austerity.
In the coming weeks, I’m looking forward to spending time with the people who work in our NHS, who do fantastic work in challenging circumstances. Too many of them are stressed, overworked and worried about the future.
For me, improving the life chances of the people of Scotland is personal and political. My dad died far too young, after years of alcohol-related poor health. I want to do everything I can to lift our NHS out of crisis.
My work on tackling period poverty is an example of the Scottish Government being forced to act. I welcome the introduction of free sanitary products in schools, colleges and universities but there is so much more to do and that’s why my Member’s Bill is pursuing world-leading legislation.
There is work we can do well on the opposition benches – but I know that real change requires Scottish Labour in government.
Scottish Labour are brimming with ambition, ideas and energy.
In the two years I have been in Parliament, I’ve set up a cross-party group on women’s health and been a prominent campaigner on alcohol and drugs harm. Last week, I met the mental health minister after raising concerns about suicide prevention services.
I’m ready for the challenge and responsibility of being Scottish Labour’s voice for health and sport and I’m delighted shadow ministers Mary Fee and David Stewart are in the team.
The only fight Scottish Labour are interested in is the battle against poverty and inequality, and those who want to preserve the status quo.”

In commemoration of Annual UN Observance Week, The World  Interfaith Harmony Week, an event “The common people’s activism towards a common peace through common grounds of religions is inevitable for global peace.” has been organized from February 6 to  7, 2017 at Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh in India by renowned peace and human rights activist Mr. Mohd. Abdul Saeed Khan alias Saeed Khan Falahi.
Alike every year, Mr. Saeed Khan Falahi organized the celebration of the WIHW with folks of men, women & children from all sections of societies, comprising various programs to promote acts of peace, interfaith harmony, collaboration, mutual dialogue, coexistence, reconciliation and tolerance between people of all faiths, cultures and spiritual traditions.
In this event various beautiful programs including All religions prayer for interfaith harmony and global peace,  A public declaration of all community leaders to remain united with a spirit of mutual love, respect, coexistence, compassion & tolerance in order to foster peace & harmony,  Children for peace and brotherhood,  Interfaith harmony Lunch, Join heart & soul program have been performed successfully with active participation of general public in order to strengthen the spirit of interfaith harmony, mutual love, understanding, tolerance, acceptance, inclusiveness and coexistence among all human beings of different faiths and also to spread the message of UN World Interfaith Harmony Week to general masses in order to popularize the theme of WIHW among the people of all faiths. Hundreds of people from different faiths mainly Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist & Christian were present on this occasion to promote interfaith harmony mutually.
Several social, political and religious leaders, priests, activists, teachers, advocates, doctors, school children and women & girls were also present in this program and they appreciate Saeed Khan Falahi for organizing continuously every year such inspiring programs to promote interfaith harmony among people of all faiths, cultures & beliefs.
Renowned Christian Priest & educationist Reverend Father E. M. Paul of Methodist Church, Shahjahanpur, Reverend Father Dara Singh from Methodist Church, Hardoi, Mr. Haji Rasul Mohammad an eminent Muslim scholar, Mrs. Sunita Mishra, a women rights activist, Mr. Mujahid Siddiqui, President of Haiya Alal Falah Movement, Shahjahanpur, Miss Farheen, a progressive Muslim student activist of Gandhi Faiz-e-Aam Post Graduate College, Shahjahanpur, Dr. Syed Sarwar Husain, Dr. Riyaz Uddin, Mr. Mohd. Iqbal Khan, A Muslim leader & Mutawalli of Jama Masjid, Nigohi(Waqf), Mr. Dharam Veer Mishra, a Hindu community leader & poet, Mrs. Meenu Mishra, a women’s rights activist, Mr. Yaseen Husain Khan alias Shola Tilhari, a Muslim intellectual and poet, Mr. Zafar Ansari, a lawyer & human rights activist, Sardar Jasveer Singh, Sikh community leader, several priests of Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh & Buddhist religions, various members of civil societies, Organizer of the event Saeed Khan Falahi, a global peace & human rights leader and all other speakers and participants made this event very successful through their speeches and performances focused on interfaith harmony and peace worldwide.
In his address, Saeed Khan Falahi express his concerns over increasing intolerance and violent religious extremism in several parts of India & the world, and further he appealed all persons to live in peace and harmony following the common grounds of their religions to foster the spirit of mutual love, tolerance, acceptance and coexistence. He insisted the people of all faiths to respect the religious & spiritual feelings of others in order to strengthen interfaith harmony everywhere. He further emphasized that we all must develop the values of humanity inside us as we all are human beings and basically all of us are originated from same source.
People of all the religion gathered to attend the event and took the lunch together. Since the voting day is approaching in the five states of India including Uttar Pradesh, some anti-social elements may try to increase the differences between people of different religions to improve their vote banks.
Considering the sensitivity of the situation, Saeed Khan Falahi & all speakers urged the attendees to report the issue to police if someone asks to give vote in the name of religion. They advised people to remember that we all are tied with only one religion and that is humanity. Exercise your vote for a true leader who thinks about you as a human being not as a Muslim or Hindu or Christian.
Most of the attendees of the event were Muslim children and they tried to convey a message to general public that none of the terrorist is a Muslim. Mr. Saeed Khan Falahi stated that “It is the best way for building a peaceful world for all of us and for our coming generations is to teach and inspire children for peace, love, compassion, humanity, tolerance and coexistence”.
Muslim preachers & Imams, Christian Fathers, Hindu & Sikh religious preachers prayed for love and harmony among all religions in order to establish world peace and that ISIS, Boko Haram, Taliban, Al-Shabab, Al-Qaida and all terrorist groups in India & the world be removed from their roots in order to save humanity. It is also prayed for all the innocent people who have been killed by ISIS and all other terrorist organizations in India & the world.
On that occasion Mr. Saeed Khan Falahi asserted that  ISIS, BOKO HARAM, Al SHABAB and all other terrorists groups are devils who are only blood sucker wolves. The sentiments of Muslim community of India is completely with the victims of terrorism in all parts of the world. A true Muslim follows Islam, which preaches peace not terror and if someone spreads terrorism and says he is a Muslim then that person is only trying to defame Islam. Terrorism has no religion because all the religions talk about peace and brotherhood and a terrorist does opposite to what a religion says.
Saeed Khan Falahi asserted that “Humanity is my religion and I believe myself to be a son of Adam and Eve alike all other human beings on earth. This simply means that all the humans are my brother and sister then why should someone discriminate just because of our religion. Religion can be a positive force to bring people closer not a tool of creating hate between people as some politicians do. This is a sensitive time when politicians try to disturb the communal harmony to get votes and we all should think sensibly for the right candidate while voting.
Lastly,  Saeed Khan Falahi urged the authorities to take effective measures to ensure strong frame work of interfaith harmony among the people of all religions, faiths and beliefs for achieving a satisfactory growth of sustainable development in India as peace always brings prosperity & development, and hate brings destruction.
The impact of this event reached millions of people from local to international through the means of mass communication. Thus the impact of this event is reaching millions of people worldwide.
Lastly, Saeed Khan Falahi, the organizer of this event expressed his sincere gratitude to the United Nations for declaring officially the first week of February every year as “World Interfaith Harmony Week” on the great initiation of H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan.
The common people’s activism towards a common peace through common grounds of religions is inevitable for global peace : Saeed Khan Falahi In commemoration of Annual UN Observance Week, The World  Interfaith Harmony Week, an event "The common people's activism towards a common peace through common grounds of religions is inevitable for global peace." has been organized from February 6 to  7, 2017 at Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh in India by renowned peace and human rights activist Mr.

SAGP to prepare feasibility report for Thar, Kohistan livestock management project
HYDERABAD: The World Bank funded Sindh Agriculture Growth Project (SAGP) livestock component team has begun working on a feasibility report with international experts to promote livestock management in two major arid zones in Sindh, Thar Desert and Kohistan.
A four-member team comprising Tre Cates and Byron Lee Shelton from US, Simon Tendai Gerikayi from Zimbabwe, and SAGP’s Dr Nighat Hasnain from UK visited livestock fields in Thar Desert along with officials. They held meetings with the communities to learn about traditional grazing mechanisms, and availability of water and fodder to gauge the potential for rehabilitating the grazing fields.
The SAGP also invited experts from Sindh agriculture and livestock departments, retired officials, researchers, and academia, most of whom have been engaged in reporting and assessing similar projects, late on Wednesday night to discuss the newly introduced 'holistic land and livestock management' (HLLM).  The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to turn the barren lands into grassland, using livestock as a tool for the better of the local communities.
Initially, these international experts shared their experiences in similar projects being implemented in arid zones in Africa, US and other parts of the world, which depend on rainfall and livestock grazing. They presented how the communities were motivated to adopt this model to store rain water, grow fodder with crops, and manage herds jointly.
They said the people are now living happily and earning incomes by adopting their suggested models. The experts also showed how the larger herds, comprising as much as 25,000 sheep moved together in grazing fields and benefitted the communities.
They suggested introducing the same model as a pilot project in Sindh. In their understanding, this project depends on the will of the communities, who may be trained for adopting this holistic approach in land and livestock management.
The major issue in arid zones was the availability of water and degraded grazing fields. The experts said the need was to design a water storing mechanism which the rain may feed. It was necessary for cultivation of fodder and crops as well as developing grazing fields, they said.
SAGP deputy director Dr Abdullah Sethar said that initially as a pilot phase, they wanted to establish a livestock hub for accommodating at least 2,000 to 5,000 animals, which would then be increased to make space for more animals.
For this, he said they needed to have at least 5,000 or 10,000 acres of land in Tharparkar and Kohistan. The sites would be used to cultivate fodder grasses, installing water facilities, and developing infrastructure for livestock. This hub should be accessible for livestock farmers to benefit them.
Dr Sethar said it was necessary to train livestock farmers at village level, so they were aware of the weather pattern changes and could adopt preventive measures to save their animals.
Prof M Ismail Kumbhar of Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam said 60 percent land in Sindh was considered an arid zone. Presently malnutrition among children was being reported with deaths in Thar.
He said that despite being dependent on livestock rearing as a livelihood, during droughts, people were forced to sell the animals to feed their kids.
He appreciated the project initiative, and said, “This model will benefit the arid zone communities and the livestock economy.” Dr Ghulam Sarwar Shaikh of JICA, Prof Ghulam Hussain Khaskheli of Sindh Development Study Centre, and others gave suggestions to make the initiative successful.
They suggested imposing an official ban on tree cutting in arid zones. Presently, the communities cut trees for livelihood, but the participants said people could be sensitised to protect these trees and in return provided with alternative means to make a living. The team members were looking optimistic, and said that pre-assessment field visits would help them explore possibilities for introducing HLLM in Sindh.

A beloved jurist passes on
A beloved jurist passes on: Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim wore many hats, but the one he credited for making him who he became, was his pro bono work with detained students in the 1950s. Here's that story as I know it from Fakhru Uncle, my father and their friends
Tumblr media
Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim (12 February 1928-7 January 2020) gained respect early on in his career for refusing to take oath under the military dictatorship of Gen. Ziaul Haq. Through his life he wore many hats — founder member Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Pakistan Supreme Court judge, Governor Sindh, Chief Election Commissioner, to name some. But a little-known feather in his cap is his pro…

Remembering Hal Gould, a friend of South Asia
Remembering Hal Gould, a friend of South Asia
I wrote this piece recently about someone I was honoured to consider a friend although we never met. Hal Gould came to mind when we launched Sapan, the South Asia Peace Action Network, earlier this year. I knew he was over 90 by then, a few years older than my late father Dr M. Sarwar, who Hal had felt an affinity with. We’re in a pandemic and I hadn’t heard from him in a while. Dr. Harold A.…
