An Alternate View
flickr
An Alternate View by Trey Ratcliff Via Flickr: A different view of Eilean Donan castle from the one I shared a few weeks ago. I liked that alternate view, looking back down the glen towards the mountains, rather than out towards the sea as seen here but this one does have a typically Scottish weather feel to it... which was good because the first chunk of my trip was abnormally sunny with clear blue skies a lot of the time. Nice to get some contrasts.

I think the spa date with Emmet is a perfect idea, his hoard of Joltiks are there and would be excited to see him and the farmer Emmet won't stop talking about when he sees them again. I think a nice date idea for Emmet's 13th Heart would be him and his spouse having a picnic on the Mountain Pass, a majority of his events occur there and to see the difference between strangers to friends??? to best friends to lovers finally would be verrry nice to see, at least to me. A nice homage to the place.
OH YOU'RE A GENIUS... That'd be so cute... I don't know why a picnic with Emmet in the mountain pass never occured to me. The answer was in front of me this whole time... 🥲
I was worried that a spa date would be a little too scandalous because well... I had enough asks about Ginger Island and seeing them near-naked. I can't look at their beach/bathhouse sprites without thinking about that association anymore. ^^;;; Not safe for Joltiks! Though, a little pool party would be cute.
Aside from that, I do want to have at least one event with Emmet at night and with Ingo in the day for balance... I find that a lot of Ingo's events take place at night and are more quiet while Emmet's is more busy... I suppose the contrast works but I'd like to have at least one event matching their usual "volume" if you follow my train of thought. Something like a candlelit beach dinner with the fish Emmet caught with Eelektross maybe...?
No idea what to do for Ingo though... I thought about the farmer taking him to see the mutant bugland in the sewers or the witch's hut behind the railroad (hello Shrine of Memory...) but... That isn't exactly ideal.

These clay pipes found during 1999 investigations at a historic logging camp in Oneida County, Wisconsin, come from both a geographic and temporal range. From the top are pipe stems with the labels “HENDERSON” (“MONTREAL” on the opposite site), “ODWYER BROS” (“DETROIT” on the opposite side) and “DOR” and “DORNI” (all or part of “PETER” on the opposite side). The Henderson pipe, from a Canadian manufacturer, dates to 1847–1876 (Hinshelwood 1995:389). The O’Dwyer Bros. name was not used before 1888, though the 1880 Detroit city directory lists John and Michael O’Dwyer as pipe makers (Sudbury 1979:167). The Peter Dorni pipes could trace to that manufacturer in northern France circa 1850–1880, or to the work of a Dutch imitator (Hinshelwood 1995:392). The pipes, along with amethyst-tinted glass, the presence of square nails, and the absence of wire or round nails, suggested that the site dates to the late 1880s.

The Outlander Season 7 mid-season finale ends with one specific Scots Gaelic song 🎶 a classic ballad, with deeper meaning. “Tha mi sigith ‘n fhogar seo,” or “I am weary of this exile.” This song has traditionally been attributed to John MacRae, Iain mac Mhurchaidh, who was born in Lianag a’ Chùl Doire in Kintail-a mountainous area sitting at the head of Loch Duich in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland.
After the Jacobite rebellion of 1745-6 and the crushing defeat at Culloden and its bloody aftermath, he emigrated to North Carolina around 1774. When the American War of Independence began in 1775 he joined the loyalist army, fighting with the Royal Highland Emigrants the (84th Regiment of Foot)
Tumblr media
The Battle of Moore's Creek Bridge was fought between the United Colonies and Great Britain on February 27, 1776, near Wilmington, North Carolina, during the American Revolution. It was the first battle of the war that took place in North Carolina.
He fought at the battle of Moore’s Creek on the 27th of February, 1776. The loyalists lost and as he relates in the song, he became an outlaw who was eventually captured and imprisoned, his songs were so influential among the Carolina Gaels, he was dealt with in a particularly harsh way by the rebels.
According to tradition his Carolina songs were brought back to Scotland by another John MacRae, Iain mac a’ Ghobha of Bundaloch, Dornie. Some of Iain mac Mhurchaidh’s songs were published in the Celtic Magazine in 1882.

Two characters that I love about the many things about this show that I love are Agah Bayar and Ned Dorneget.
The dynamic between Gibbs and Bayar was, to me, more intimate than any other character. Other than Mike Frank's.
Ned "Dornie" Dorneget was so ready to be the next addition to the Gibbs team as far as I am concerned.
I missed both of them.
