I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Doordash, Instacart, and similar services are disability services, and if you choose (because it is a choice) to become a delivery driver, you are expected to accommodate for a wide variety a needs, which (and I can’t believe I have to say this) includes entering apartment buildings and walking up stairs.
The customer is not obligated to accommodate you; you are obligated to accommodate them.

If you can, I am in need of funds to get my car, shown here, who I call “Red Robin”, out of the repo yard and fixed asap, as well as get some expenses paid off. I start my day job soon. Here is my story. My car caught a flat before thanksgiving last year while doing DoorDash. I took it to two different shops to try to get a new tire, but I was advised that I needed control arms and ball joints, and a second new tire, and that would run me around $2000 to repair and replace things. Outside of my seasonal day job in customer service and doing DoorDash, I also do Lyft, and the way my car is, I would not pass inspection. My Cashapp is $femaletrumpet02, my GoFundMe link is here. Thanks in advance.

I started doing deliveries for DoorDash a couple weeks ago a couple times a week, usually for about 2-2.5 hours at a time, and it’s pretty good so far. Friday nights seem to be the best. Saturday early-mid afternoons are the worst so far.
Tonight I got this $20 offer and when you get the alert in the app, it only stays up for 45 seconds before you can accept it or you miss it. And sometimes it doesn’t make the alert noise, so I happened to look at my phone and I saw it and it had like 10 seconds left where I could accept it so I didn’t get the chance to look at all the details. I just saw $20 and i was like heck yeah so I accepted it. Of course when I picked up the food and put in the address it was 15 miles away in another city. And then I saw the address and it was in one of the sketchiest parts of the city. It’s in a different delivery zone than where I usually deliver in, too. I had previously made the decision that if I was going to deliver in that zone I’d only do it during the day bc it’s the 3rd most dangerous city in the state lmao. Then of course I get this order that I jump on bc it’s the highest offer I’ve ever gotten so far, and it turns out I have to drive 25 minutes on the highway to the 3rd most dangerous city in the state in one of the sketchiest areas, in the dark. 😬
The reason the offer was so high was probably because people kept declining it lol. I think first of all the highest offers seem to be a little farther away, but I also think the base pay gets higher once an offer keeps getting declined by people until someone is willing to drive 15 miles to deliver it. They gave a small tip too hahaha.
I usually don’t pay attention to the tip, actually. Because usually you get an offer and it will say “$20.00 including tip” and then you can go into the details in a different screen to see what they tipped you, so I usually don’t do that until I finish the shift.
Overall I made $46 tonight which was great until I paid $40 for gas and then it practically canceled itself out 😒 Also, most of the time was spent driving. I might have been able to make the same amount of money if I stayed in my zone and done more orders, but I might not have. I got lucky with the last order of the night, too, which was $14. That one had a big tip. And it was only 6 miles or something like that. I only took one offer for Chick-Fil-A, because it was a mad house in there and I had to wait like 10 minutes for the order so I had decided that I’d just decline Chick-Fil-A offers for the rest of the night. But then I got that $20 offer and I spent a large part of my shift doing that.
I think I get the most offers from Chick-Fil-A, though. I get a good number from Plan B (a burger place) and D’Angelo’s sandwiches.

if you are nice to people they will typically be nice to you. if you are mean to people they will not like you very much and also will sometimes be mean to you. this will make you sad and mad. if people are nice to you then you will feel happy and glad. when you are nice to people you will find fewer reasons to be very sad and very mad. follow for more wise life tips.

Thousands of drivers for ride-sharing platforms Uber, Lyft and food delivery app DoorDash will strike across the United States on Valentine’s Day seeking fair pay, drivers’ groups said on Monday. The strike call is the first since Uber and Lyft went public in 2019. Drivers will picket outside airports and Uber offices, two of the groups said.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but unless your library has a designated 'leave doordash orders here' area, or unless you are waiting outside the building to pick up your own damn food, you cannot order doordash to your fucking library. Because, guess what! A library front desk is not an acceptable place to leave a giant fucking food order! It's not convenient for us, it's not safe or sanitary for your food, and it places your doordash driver in an incredibly uncomfortable position! Do not fucking do this shit! I am part of an underfunded public institution and I will eat your fucking sandwich out of spite!

well I splurged on a special doordash order cos I wanted the Good cake for my lil half birthday/groundhog day evening so I did order that expensive meal I love from that restaurant in the middle of dc (i live just outside it. for reference) and waited an hour ohhhh so hungry for it to get here, fully prepared to add a little extra tip for the driver since it was so far and I wanted the food so bad, and I get the notif it has been delivered. and it comes with this pic for proof of delivery

that is not my cat. that is not my doorstep. I live in large apartment building. my apartment number was LISTED in the delivery address. this stoop looks NOTHING like anything within a block radius of me.
