i was thinking, wouldn’t it be cool if all the humans in No Place are actually mermaids? so, they live underwater… and the ark was the equivalent to atlantis? they met with similar fates, after all. regardless– merhog shadow aka bermuda is extremely angry about what happened to his home, and his family.

but because none of the other characters are fish like him, he was left alone to deal with all that, and he didn’t handle it nearly as well as he does in canon as a result.

any sailor would be a fool to cross into waters where he’s been spotted, as they say his vengeful song can lure even the most strong-minded of men to their watery grave…

Sonic getting cursed by the bracelet. He doesn't even have to wear it here, it just curses him when he holds it 😣 (also it wasn't a night transformation thing, he was just cursed to be a giant regardless of the time of day)

I was originally going for a "be careful what you wish for" kind of thing with the story. Basically Sonic being a bit insecure about the whole height difference thing between him and Elise, and not wanting to admit that he likes to he held by her out of embaressment.

Of course when he gets cursed, he can no longer be held by her for obvious reasons. 😓

Sad hog 😞 (slightly ooc but I thought it was cute) But Elise reassures him

At least he can still hold Elise 😅 It makes him feel a bit better

I like the idea that Sonic can be silent for hours but word vomits when he's nervous or catches the right moment. Shadow is a good listener...at least to people he respects. I HC it's a bad trait of his, walking away or leaving before someones finished talking because obviously he already knows this thing.

I think it's something they would both have to work on. Sonic might even have the opposite issue, never finishing or explaining enough...just running off.

a lil tropey sonadow warm up, before getting some more comic stuff going in the new year. This one's been sitting in my files for months.

I think over time he'd become fascinated by the strange things people say, given how often sonic just sits and listens to the world around him. At some point his "wtf are you talking about, that's a dumb thing to say" would turn into, "thats a weird thing to say. Why? tell me more. I need to understand everything."

I bet sonic would slap him with a "why do you think he said that? Really? huh." but never explaining, making shadow doubt himself and ask more just to prove he's exploring more perspectives.

Also continues my HC that he's accidentally romantic, despite himself haha. "is he into me?" Who knows, honestly.
