Cookie Run AU Ideas #12: King from the Stars

In this AU, Stardust Cookie gets lost while searching for the City of Wizards and instead, crashlands into the Kingdom of the Sky. As an entity composed of stardust and capable of shifting forms, he unintentionally takes on the appearance of Pure Vanilla after seeing the stained glass pictures of Pure Vanilla when he wakes up. To his dismay, he finds himself unable to revert to his original form.

Shortly after his arrival, Stardust meets Strawberry Crepe Cookie, who immediately notices something isn’t quite right. Crepe quickly realises that this isn’t the real Pure Vanilla, yet they decide to keep his secret. Perhaps it’s their curiosity about Stardust’s unique nature, or maybe it's simply them being lonely. Whatever the reason, they help Stardust understand the role he's now stuck with. Telling him about Pure Vanilla's actions, the king's noble nature, and how Stardust would need to act and learn.

Initially, Stardust’s intentions weren't the most...noble. He had planned to leave once he fixed the problem about his appearance, and to return back to his goal of destroying the City of Wizards. However, instead of hostility, he finds himself surrounded by kindness and admiration—feelings which were entirely foreign to him.

Slowly, as he got used to the affection of those who believed him to be Pure Vanilla, he began to fear losing it all. The idea of being discovered terrified him, not only because of the potential fallout but because he had grown attached to this newfound sense of belonging. Something he had never really been given by the wizards who had discarded him, or among the stars where he simply didn't quite fit in.

Stardust’s guilt becomes even heavier when he discovers Healer Cookie. The true Pure Vanilla Cookie. Stripped of his memories, Healer Cookie lives a quiet life, a life that could only be described as peaceful and happy. Without the burdens of a hero, or king. Stardust, realizing the truth, couldn't bring himself to abandon Healer or reveal his lies. Instead, he began to follow Healer around. Helping the cookie, and eventually becoming friends with him.

While Stardust felt bad and desperate for some sense of recognition of his wrongdoings, he was unable to voice a confession. Healer Cookie, puzzled by Stardust’s constant presence, comes to view him as an odd yet endearing companion.

Hollyberry has no idea who this imposter is, but they don’t seem to have any ill intent. She’s got to figure out where the real Pure Vanilla is first before she confronts this fake. She also has to make sure he doesn’t meet Dark Cacao, because the winter king surely wouldn’t play along like she is.

Stardust (or his AU nickname being Vanilla Dust) also starts binge-reading every politic book he can find lol.

having the beast of deceit as your lover was not something you had planned to happen in your life. funny how life works, huh?

the main thing you had learned from him was that he's desperate for physical touch. being sealed away for thousands and thousands of years hit him the hardest out of the five beasts.

he wept when you gently cupped his faced the first time. you whispered reassurances as you planted soft kisses on his cheeks, nose, and lips. this man is so touch-starved... please give him a ton of kisses! (he really enjoys it when you place kisses on the scar on his eye)

dark moon magic has a cold-like feeling to it. since shadow milk practically depends on that magic, his entire body is cool to the touch. it's also a reason why he enjoys cuddling you and sleeping with you at all costs! he enjoys basking in your warmth and he makes sure to let you know.

during his imprisonment, he came to realize how much he missed the touch of another. ever since the beasts fell and joined forces, they were never as close as they were before. comforting hugs and gentle touches ceased to exist among them after their fall.

hope you like pranks, because shadow milk enjoys pulling them on you! he finds your reactions so funny and cute <3 his cute little cookie.

when the others are around, the both of you pair up to pull pranks on them as well! the others can only sigh in frustration at the two of you constantly teaming up together to mess with them.

even after his fall, shadow milk enjoys stargazing every night. it calms his raging thoughts and gives him comfort. now that he has you with him, he makes sure to stargaze alongside you whenever you're able to.

if you're ever in danger, he's quick to react and will (usually) be quick to get rid of whatever threat is near you. he hardly even cares if it's a cookie or not, he goes in for the kill and asks questions later.

out of all the beast cookies, shadow milk is by far the most overprotective and powerful of them all. it both scares you and captivates you at the same time. it gets your heart beating quickly knowing that someone that overpowered cares about your wellbeing.

just as he cares about you, you do the same back to him. he tends to get carried away with learning new spells or spying on others. he sometimes forgets to feed himself or take small breaks when he's focused on something. you always pull him away from his works to get a good rest or to eat the delicious meal you just made <3

he swears he falls in love even more with you every day whenever you do these kind actions for him! he sometimes wonders how he got so lucky to have someone like you around...

♡ You first meet him in a period where he was yet to be touched by greed and trickery. A humble cookie you were, innocently strolling amidst the streets of your home kingdom until you stumbled across him.

♡ He was nothing short of humble and truthful as the rumors had entailed—polite with a well-mannered tone and gracious in his deeds of honesty for all. As if woven by fate itself, your coincidental encounters with him grew more and more common, until a bond began to flourish. Little promises and giggles were shared, fondness bloomed between stories and tales.

♡ The man was often teased by his peers for his fondness towards you, yet he didn't mind. Unbeknownst to them, a darker truth was veiled beneath the surface. Keeping his hands clasped together with yours for just a second longer than normal, neglecting his duties at times just for another moment to bask in your presence—Ah, the list could really go on and on.. But it was alright. It was just a small, little secret. A white lie that couldn't hurt anybody. He'd shoulder the truth of this minuscule act.

♡ "(Name) Cookie, over here! I have to share with you this interesting moment that happened in the court.."

♡ And so, it would continue this way, until something changed.

♡ He began to grow less benevolent. Fatigue was evident through the eyebags his form now carried, his caring tone strained. The everlasting truth in his words withered, falsehoods spilling out from his mouth that caused chaos and harm to break out within kingdoms. Especially the one you dwelled in.

♡ As his behavior towards common cookiekind warped, so did his towards you. His actions grew obsessive, arms clinging onto you at every instance as though you would dissolve if he were to let go. Even you weren't safe from the deceit that had tore through his heart, the cookie whispering sweet lies into your ears.

♡ The well being of the other cookies didn't matter to him anymore, why should he bother? Their foolishness bound them to a terrible fate from the very start, he should've given up on them sooner. Too long had he and the other heroes tolerated their exploitation! But oh, dear you..

♡ You were an exception from his all-consuming resentment towards those that had taken advantage of him and his comrades. Poor, poor you. Having to associate with these wicked folk, such a kind soul you had...! Of course, he couldn't stand by idly and let your torment continue.

♡ "Ah—(Name) Cookie, don't struggle.. This is for the greater good, I promise you." He coaxed softly, one hand gently stroking the back of your head as the other restrained you. He would bring you salvation, away from those filthy brethren that you called your 'friends'.

♡ Yet you continued to struggle, restlessly moving as you tried to free yourself of the binds. Your resistance only complicated and extended the process of renewal, but he didn't blame you; no, he could never! The other cookies have merely brainwashed you. That must be it. You would never gaze at him with such fear in your eyes, you wouldn't tremble at his touch.

♡ Your hostility only solidified his view on the others. They were irredeemable!—Not only had they used him and the other heroes, but they even turned you against him! Outrageous!

♡ Your coldness wounded his heart, yet he didn't falter. He was sure he could break through such a silly perspective they had influenced you into.

♡ "(Name)~ Don't fight me.." He sighed, fingers benignly clasping your face when you tried to turn your head away. The cold sensation sent tremors down your spine. "I know they've conditioned you into this, but I assure you, I only want the best for you.." He cooed, pulling you in closer. An arm was firmly wrapped around your waist, as he traced small circles onto your back with his free hand.

♡ How much longer would it take until you finally gave into his advances? He pouted at the thought, opting to bury his head into your shoulder. The sweet scent of you drove him insane. Yes, everything would be just fine.. As long he had you with him.

♡ Yet his whole world crashed down on him one day. Pinned down by the fork those witches had dared to cast down on him; his vision tuned out the other forms of his friends being restrained, all he could focus on was your figure.

♡ Your disappointed frown with somber eyes. Why were you staring at him with that expression? Where are you going? Wait! No, don't go! His expression twisted into one of desperation, arms sprawling out towards your retreating figure. No, this wasn't how it was supposed to go. You.. You can't leave him here!

♡ "(Name), (Name) Cookie, wait! No, no no COME BACK! Please, please, please.. Don't go, you can't go, you're not supposed to—I need you..!"

♡ As you stopped in your steps and turned around, a glimmer of hope shone within his heart. Yet it crumbled just as fast as you looked away, continuing to walk away. Away from him. To leave him. Why? Why had you discarded him? Had he not done so much to prove his love and adoration to you..? He cast his head down, thoughts swarming his head in a frenzy.

♡ "(Name).."

♡ You were all he wanted. Why couldn't he have you?

♡ His vision went black.

♡ How long had it been? He was unsure.

♡ You continued to linger in his thoughts even after he had been trapped in the Silver Tree, becoming the only source of solace in his seemingly-endless solitude. He was uninterested in talking to his 'friends', their bond growing more strained as each day passed. He couldn't understand how he got along with them back then. Corruption seeped and curled within his being, infecting his mind and very essence. It fed on his despair and longing, clouding the last traces of lucidity and truth.

♡ He just wanted you back. He made a vow to himself.

♡ Once he has you again, he'll never let you go.

"Seriously, who can say no to a pinch of good old Deceit?"

♡ "Oh, finally some fresh air!" Shadow Milk Cookie exclaimed with a sigh, stretching his arms. Being in that cramped tree didn't help his joints at all, hopefully he didn't catch a case of arthritis! A wide grin was on his face as he peered down on the cookies that had been so, so stupid that they thought they could delay his arrival! He scrutinized their forms, yet his eyes lit up at a familiar sight.

♡ You.

♡ "Ah, (Name) Cookie!~♡" Shadow Milk Cookie was quick to pick you up, ignoring the screams of horror that the other pesky little cookies let out—who he presumed were your friends. Two fingers were clasped around your form, as he dangled you in the air. If he wasn't giddy before, he definitely was now.

♡ Shadow Milk Cookie smiled ear to ear, admiring your form in his clutch for a few moments further before he glanced back at your noisy friends, his smile dropping as the light in his eyes faded.

♡ He turned his gaze back towards you, his frown changing into a smile once more.

♡ "Truly, you couldn't begin to comprehend how much I've missed you!.." Shadow Milk Cookie sighed, leaning his face closer towards your tiny figure. "We have soooo much to catch up on..~" He gave an half-lidded smile.

♡ "But first.." He eyed your peers. "Let's go somewhere where these little.. 'friends' of yours won't disturb us." With a snap of his fingers, your surroundings changed.

♡ What.. was this place? Everywhere you looked, only strained your vision. It felt unreal, as though you were in another dimension entirely. Eyes of all azure shades stared back at you, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

♡ "Tada!~ My special little world, what do you think of it?" Shadow Milk Cookie smiled happily, placing a hand on your shoulder. You shuddered at the touch, hurriedly stepping away from the madman that you were trapped with.

♡ "Hm? Don't you know it's rude to stareeee..?" Shadow Milk Cookie tilted his head, bending it at an unnatural angle. He stepped closer towards you with every step you took back, quickly closing the distance. He latched his hand out, gently tilting your chin up.

♡ "Still resisting now are we? Oh, silly, silly (Name)..!" He broke out into giggles, then chuckles, before it warped into full-blown laughter. "Ah, your shenanigans never fail to amuse me!~" He wiped a stray tear, grinning as one of his hands pulled you into his embrace.

♡ His lips grazed over the exposed surface of your neck, biting down into soft flesh as jam spilled out from the wound—to which he quickly lapped it up, leaving a soft kiss as an apology. He only pulled back when he deemed there were sufficient marks, a smile on his face as he took in your shaky breath and unfocused gaze. You really were just the cutest..! "You see.. Time works differently in this little place I created."

♡ "Hmm.. For example, I could make it so that.. the equivalent of merely a second in the outside world could amount to a year in here! Or a decade! Or even a century, the possibilities are ENDLESS!" The pitch of his tone raised, delighting in your unnerved expression.

♡ "Anywho, what I'm trying to get across is that we have alllll the time in the world, my sweet (Name)~.." His tone dropped to a mere whisper, his smile fading as though the deceit within him was unraveling before you. Deep in his eyes swirled a whirlpool of something far darker than you could ever understand.

♡ "So let's see how long this little charade of yours will last. ♡"

♡ After all, he's waited eons for you in that damned tree. He can wait a little longer for you to break.

Random alternate King Red au, but when Red Son is released back to his mother after his father is sealed up, he refuses to help her save his father, wary about bring the Heavenly Court's wrath on them. There's an argument and Red ends up returning back to the Fiery Mountains, taking his father's throne and court. Years later, in a attempt to get Red's help in dealing with these mortals, PIF and DBK offer Red a kidnapped MK as a consort. And for reasons, Red can't return MK.

Yeah this is a pretty fun alternative! There’s plenty of ways Red could become a king with a court of demons and they don’t necessarily have to involve him becoming obsessed with MK (although I have lots of fun with that AU)

Not sure how PIF plans to free DBK without her son helping though, it was his tech that lifted the staff after all :U I guess in a scenario like this it’d have to be MK who picks up the staff like, accidentally. In that case MK probably feels absolutely terrible about removing the staff, as if this kid doesn’t have enough anxiety as it is, now it’s hIS FAULT that the Demon Bull King is loose in the world so it’s possible he doesn’t even take the staff and try to escape. This is probably how PIF and DBK capture him.. and honestly, PIF is kind of grateful that he showed up and moved the staff, although she wouldn’t say so, so she wouldn’t let her husband try to squish him. No she has other plans for this boy.. he’s kind of cute after all, and just her son’s type~

Ok, on the one hand I absolutely love the King Red and Prince Red AUs by themselves separately. But on the other hand I am that person who does stuff like read 20 nearly identical coffee shop slow burn AUs for the same pairing. So I have to ask, if the alternate past dimension Red Son thing happened with Prince instead exactly how much of a disaster would that turn out to be for all sides? Because I imagine that going incredibly poorly emotionally on all fronts (at least until Prince proves he isn't like King or if he has his own MK to protec and vouche for him).

Ooh, so you mean if instead of Red Son being flung into a the Demon King Red future, it was Prince Red instead? I like that idea.. it definitely hits differently from classic Red Son because Prince Red is in a similar and yet very different position to King Red. He’s got a court and he’s trying to convince MK to come join him there, but he’s not doing so by force and he doesn’t want to kill any of MK’s friends to do it.

The thing that sticks out is the two Red’s relationship to their parents. While Prince Red has stopped being loyal to them from the very beginning of the series, King Red was loyal to them up until the very last second. That difference may help to ease some of Prince Red’s anxiety about somehow becoming like this worst version of himself, but the similarities between the two definitely scare him. The fact that he’s in charge of a court of demons, that he’s trying to get MK to come join him at the palace, the desire to protect MK, and the apparently one-sided nature of their relationship.. (Prince Red’s isn’t actually so one-sided but he still doesn’t know that for sure since his MK rejects his proposals so much) and Prince Red is a good enough person that he doesn’t want to gloss over these similarities and would take a hard look at his own actions to make sure he wasn’t overstepping in his interactions with his own MK once he got back..

As for how things would go with Prince Red showing up in that dimension.. I think he would want to do everything he could to help this version of MK. It’s not his MK, but he’s still feels that protective instinct towards him, especially when he witnesses the fear that comes over him when they meet for the first time. However his resemblance to King Red who’s been tormenting MK makes it so Prince Red doesn’t want to be around MK too much because he knows it will stress him out, so rather than team up with MK and his friends, he would make the decision to go straight to Sun Wukong and try to work something out between the two of them.. This dimension’s version of Wukong appears to be actually taking the situation seriously and is looking out for MK (something Prince Red is furious at his version of Wukong for not doing enough) so he’d want to try and find a way to defeat King Red without having to involve MK or his mortal friends, and Wukong is definitely the person to go to in order to come up with that kind of plan.

Meanwhile Demon King Red is furious when he learns the details of this new version of himself who’s showed up.. not only is he some kind of weak pacifist when it comes to mortals like MK’s treacherous friends, but he’s been disloyal to his parents but dared to take ownership of their court anyway?? King Red may have fled when his parents were about to die, but he’s still loyal to them and loved them very much. He views Prince Red’s attitude towards his own family as a dishonor to their memory and won’t stand for it.

So let's say MK's child in demon king red au winds up in prince red au via the magical artifact we all keep mentioning like perhaps she saw it was interesting and fiddled with it until she triggered it to send her in that au. And when Price Red sees her, he is at first confused until the young child says that she doesn't think she belongs in this world because of how different prince red is from "coocoo for cocoa puffs" (demon king red) is from her world. She explains and red decides to help her

I love combining the Prince Red and Demon King Red AUs in new ways, the two are so different it makes for some really fun reactions from all the characters involved..

I was having fun in that previous ask where the kid got a chance to spend a little time with King Red and maybe she was falling for his story for a minute there, but then quickly got a sense for how unhinged he was from his behavior towards his own court. She’s pretty scared to be around this guy and would be looking for some way to escape from him. It could also be fun to imagine a scenario where MK doesn’t show up immediately and interrupt because his friends have wrangled him and talked some sense into him by saying he needs to be careful in how he approaches this until they come up with a plan all together. This gives Red more time to show his new princess around the palace and yeah he even takes her into the room he stores all the powerful artifacts he’s collected and that one from the museum fight ended up there as well.. maybe whatever this thing is looks super cool and MK’s daughter (not having learned her lesson from messing with the calabash just hours earlier) decides to take it off the shelf and starts fiddling with it. Maybe she hopes it could help her escape or fight Red or something.. she’s not sure, she just wants to do SOMETHING. Red sees at the last second what she’s got, but doesn’t stop her in time to prevent the magic from activating and suddenly she’s gone, poofed into another dimension.... for extra fun maybe THAT’S when MK shows up and demands to know where is daughter is and Red just has to be like “UMMMM💦💦 darling this is so embarassing but I seem to have (accidentally I swear) lost our daughter to another dimension... so sorry about that.”

Anyway, the kid reappears in a room that looks really similar to the one she was just in except all the magic artifacts are gone and replaced with like... religious artifacts instead. She’s so startled by whatever just happened that she drops the artifact and it (of course) breaks. She wanders out of the room and finds that the whole palace is really different all of a sudden.. she probably starts crying again because this is all pretty overwhelming for an eleven year old, and her wailing gets her discovered by a servant or something who is passing by. They’re unsure of what to do with her, so they give her a little pat on the head and take her out back to where the prince is currently meditating in front of the zen garden.

Prince Red is kind of speechless to hear that a human child somehow made it all the way out to his palace in the Fiery Mountains AND managed to get past the gate and into one of their hallways before being discovered. He comes up to her and is super gentle and nice when he asks her how she ended up in his court. She shies away at first because this guy looks so much like King Red and she’s worried it IS him and he’ll be mad that she broke his artifact.. but he’s got a very kind air about him, not at all like King Red who constantly has this crazed look in his eye. So after a little encouragement (maybe Prince Red notices she’s scared and takes her inside for some tea and cake or some other treat so she’ll calm down) she opens up about her breaking an artifact and getting kidnapped by the coocoo version of him and then messing with yet another artifact and winding up in his palace suddenly and she’s very sorry, she just wants to see her dad! Also she’s crying again. It breaks Red’s heart to see her so sad, so he tries to console her and insists she’s not in trouble, he just wants to get her home safely.. and then he asks who her dad is. He almost chokes on his tea at her answer.. but then he comes up with an idea to help calm her down. He sends a quick message to his version of MK asking him to come to his palace (no not for forever, Prince Red proposes a lot but he would never propose over text, that’s so classless. He just needs him for a visit)

Anyway that’s how a very confused MK and Prince Red go on a quest to find the non-broken version of this artifact in order to send MK’s alternate daughter back to her correct dimension.. obviously she tags along wherever they go because she’s scared and doesn’t want to leave her “dad.” Also seeing these two versions interact probably gives her even more confused feelings about King Red back in her dimension because this guy is super nice and sweet and gets along so well with this young version of her dad. She decides they’re actually really cute together and she wonders why they’re not married. Then she tries to connect what she’s seeing with what may have happened back in her dimension and wonders if maybe she’s actually in the past or something? Her father never really told her about King Red before, except maybe mentioning a demon who used to try and kidnap him to keep him in his palace.. and Prince Red does ask his MK to stay at his palace a couple of times when she can hear. Maybe King Red and her dad used to be this way??? She has no idea, but meeting Prince Red might even (mistakenly) get her to give King Red another chance once she does get back.

The battle nexus but Mk *grabs popcorn🍿* I really want to see

Ooh this will be fun... no art this time tho since I’m a bit swamped lately.. maybe sometime in the future. Also I don’t know if there’s a big enough difference between all the MKs in each AU to qualify ALL of them to be included. The MK from the Prince Red AU and the Time Travel variation of Demon King Red are too similar to really deserve their own spot in the lineup... I’ll just include Classic MK as a stand in for them. So that leaves us with:

I could see this being a pretty good fight. Classic MK has got the staff and is a strong boy but Dragon MK armed with the dragon sword is by no means a pushover. The difference between Dragon MK and our previous contestant Dragon Red is that Red was rigidly dedicated to his role as the son of the Dragon Clan, where as Dragon MK (while he definitely tries really hard because he doesn’t want to disappoint his family) is a bit more chill about it and probably hasn’t studied his heritage with its dragon powers or worked too much on his combat skills. He’s not weak or anything, it’s just that going up against the Monkie Kid he’s going to come up just a bit short.

Win goes to Classic MK!

Second contest: Demon MK son of DBK vs. Demon King Red AU/Prisoner MK

This one I’m torn about.. See, the MK from the Demon King Red AU has been through some shit and his greatest adversary is a super powerful version of Red Son so he has had to up his game accordingly so he’s going to be physically stronger, but also he’s got his fair share of trauma from the experience, and fire demons are kind of triggering for him in a way. If he goes into this round not knowing what to expect, then this version of himself suddenly using fire powers on him is going to startle him enough that he’ll be at a disadvantage for a good while at the start of the fight. This reminds him too much of King Red and the fact that it’s HIM who is wielding this power freaks him out too much... it makes him think of him and Red being like mashed together and that’s too disturbing for him to really be able to concentrate on the fight anymore... obviously Demon MK would be excited that he’s actually doing well in a fight against a version of the Monkie Kid (even though he’s weirded out that it’s himself and not Mei) so he’d press this advantage and might even manage to squeak out a win because of it. A controversial choice perhaps? Oh well, this poor demon boy has anxiety and needed a win for once. Let him have this.

Final match: Classic MK vs. Demon MK

Ok listen... let’s not kid around, this is barely even a contest. The only reason Demon MK won the last round is because of Prisoner MK’s deep psychological trauma having to do with fire demons, so when Classic MK comes out here he’s gonna wipe the floor with Demon MK. Classic Red Son has never been able to defeat MK and Demon MK is even less powerful than he is, so he’s not gonna manage it this time.

Win goes to Classic MK!!!! Our original canon boy pulls out the win! Honestly, Classic MK is such a good boy and I love him so much he deserves this :U

With your "Battle Nexus but Oops All Red Sons" makes me curious now how that would go for your various alternate universe versions of MKs. All I can imagine it'd be more of bloodbath among the Red Sons in the stands all they all cheer their boyfriends on, perhaps a bit too enthusiastically.

So I stated that Classic MK would be the winner in that tournament, but also that the MK from Prince Red AU and the Time Travel AU would be combined since they’re not different enough to warrant their own slot. So in that case when Classic MK wins they’re ecstatic!! Yes, that’s their boy who just won!! (Classic Red Son is still in the phase where he only has a secret crush on MK, so he can’t join them and celebrate outwardly but is quietly pleased inside that his MK won too)

Monkie Kid Red and Dragon Red are both disappointed that their versions lost.. MK Red is definitely dating Dragon MK so it was disappointing to see him not win his first round, but also he put up a really good fight and he’s proud of him. Dragon Red is honestly surprised that Demon MK, the ball of anxiety that he is, actually won his first round and even if they aren’t at the point where they’re dating yet in this AU he’ll still be proud that the version from his universe did so well... and yeah of course he’s not surprised when he doesn’t win it all but that’s ok.

Demon King Red is probably on the edge of his seat during the entire tournament. He may even have to be physically stopped from interfering because hEY!! How dare they allow his MK to get hurt! Which one? ALL OF THEM of course! He can’t stand to see any MK come to harm he wants to scoop all of them up and take them home to keep them safe :U Also if anyone were to get in a fight in the stands it would be Demon King Red. Who is he fighting? I dunno. Probably everybody! The Reds have a battle royale in the stands while the MKs are fighting because King Red wants to interrupt and all the others try to stop him and calm him down and they do not succeed. Obviously lol

You know all the battle nexus stuff is great, but what i REALLY wanna know is how the Multiversal Reds would interact if they COULDN'T beat the shit out of eachother. Like, a sort of 'council of Red Sons' where magic is restricted upon entrance and tech is checked at the door and they all have to talk like fucking adults. (King Red and TT Red are on opposite sides of the room otherwise they'd just get in a fistfight instead) Prince Red probs leads the meetings bc he's the only one w/ any chill

This is such a funny visual! All the Reds sitting around a table with Prince Red at the head, trying to calmly read from a meeting agenda while all the others are just snarking at each other and arguing about whose MK is best or who’s more powerful or how stupid the one or all of the others are. I love the idea of King Red and Time Travel Red literally fist fighting tho so that definitely happens, even if they are put on opposite ends. They probably leap across the table to get at each other and all the other Reds just scramble out of the way.. except Prince Red, he’s just got his face in his hands, completely exasperated trying to keep these guys calm and thanking every god he knows that he didn’t end up like any of these morons.

As for an AU COMBO scenario, how about a game of among us? There are 6 players, 3 MKs and 3 Red sons of your choosing. And there is 1 imposter. Now just for the lolz, king red would not be an imposter but would just be yeeted out because everyone would be creeped out by him lol! And the detective would probably be prince red or prisoner MK because of his trauma giving him insight on a killers movements and motives. Prince red would surely be a trained tactician and making cautious moves.

You’re absolutely right, Prisoner MK calls an emergency meeting fifteen seconds after the round starts and tells everyone to boot Demon King Red. He spends the rest of the round as a ghost wailing about how it’s so unfair that he can’t protect MK now!! Prince Red is definitely the detective as you said, and he’s awfully suspicious of Prisoner MK for booting someone so quickly, so he keeps a distant eye on him in between tasks and tries to catch him in the act.. unfortunately all this manages to accomplish is he finds his body first. At the first meeting Classic MK says he was following around Dragon Red to keep an eye on him, and Red agrees that he saw this MK on the opposite end of the ship when the body was found.. so they turn their suspicion to Demon MK who has no alibi. He throws a tantrum saying it’s NOT HIM!!! What the HECK you guys?!! He’s being set up!! But he gets booted off regardless. Except it turns out he wasn’t the imposter!

Now they’re down to three of them, so they only have one more chance to get it right. Prince Red calls an emergency meeting immediately before the real imposter gets a chance to finish one of them off and win, and he insists that they have to make a vote right away or they’re doomed. He’s just not sure which one of them he should trust.. MK points out that Dragon Red was with him earlier, but it might be that he was chasing him down to kill him. Now he’s not so sure. Dragon Red says that’s not true! If anything MK was the one chasing him! There’s some arguing back and forth and Prince Red still isn’t sure, but he doesn’t really know this Dragon Red guy very well, and MK seems pretty earnest. So they vote out Dragon Red...... who was also not the imposter ....oops. Turns out, Classic MK is just really good at this imposter business. He gets to gloat to Prince Red as he kills him that he knew the prince would fall for those puppy dog eyes, and also he’s glad he got to save him for last :U

On the matter of the love potion, this is basically prisoner MK self-medicating and it becomes more permanent and king red doesn't notice until the love potion becomes permanent. And MK becomes more clingy( and since it's a love potion, I'll leave it to innuendo from there lol). Oh dear...

Ah, did you mean a continuation of this ask from a little while ago..? I should continue that line of thinking because there’s definitely more to say there- where I ended it seemed pretty finite but there’s no way MK’s friends would allow him to be stolen like that and just do nothing about it.

Since Tang saw MK get snatched up right in front of him, they would all know and be able to mobilize a rescue pretty much immediately. They manage to bust into the palace, probably fast enough after the initial kidnapping to take them by surprise, and Sun Wukong is able to get his hands on MK and has to rip him out of King Red’s embrace and flees with him on his somersault cloud. The bracelets immobilize MK after he leaves a certain perimeter of the palace, but Wukong is strong enough to prevent him from being pulled to the ground so they’re able to make it back to the secret base. Everyone is pleased that MK is back safe, but he seems really grumpy and when Wukong frees him from the bracelets he even shoves him and starts shouting. To all of their surprise, MK says he wanted to stay with Red because he loves him, and they should have just left him there! They’re all kind of stunned into silence by this until Wukong asks when MK realized he loved Red, and when he gets the answer of how it was when MK saw him tonight it just clicked somehow, Wukong just nods sagely and says it sounds like the kid was fed a love potion. And they had better find a cure for it fast before it becomes permanent.

Tang and Wukong get right to it researching how to reverse this while Mei, Pigsy, and Sandy are on guard duty because if they leave MK alone too long he might get confused and wander off to find Red again.. Pigsy spends some time trying to talk him down from it because Wukong said the longer they keep him clear headed and fighting against the effects, the more time it will buy them before it’s irreversible. He seems to understand what they’re saying about his feelings not being real, and he doesn’t try to fight them to leave or anything, but obviously he’s torn up about it. MK admits finally that is it really so bad if he’s in love with Red because of a magic potion? It might be better this way! He was so afraid before, but now he’s realized there’s nothing to be afraid of because Red just wants to be with him and take care of him and is that so bad??

Before Mei can slap him silly and remind him of all the terrible and monstrous things Red put MK through, there’s an explosion and King Red’s demons flood into the base attacking all of MK’s friends. Red enters shortly after but he doesn’t get a chance to do much of anything because the second he comes through the hole in the wall from that explosion, MK has leapt into his arms and is kissing him! Red is shocked for a moment but then he gets that creepy smile on his face and kisses him back.. MK’s friends are all disgusted of course. Mei screams at MK to stop, he does NOT love Red, it’s just the love potion that’s making him act like this! Red actually does stop kissing MK as he hears this and looks furious, insisting that’s ridiculous! He would NEVER use a love potion on MK, and he wouldnt have to. Obviously, MK loves him!!! And with that, he whisks MK away with his fire while his friends are left to panic in the ruins of their secret base (which apparently was not so secret) After awhile, Tang and Wukong finally come back from whatever wacky adventure they had to go on to find this love potion antidote to find the place in shambles and the three friends they left behind freaking out because MK left with Red and there’s nothing they could do, he ran right over to the mad king before they could stop him! He might be too far gone already!

One of them does mention to Wukong that Red insisted it was not a love potion making MK act this way, which was probably a lie, but Red had seemed so furious about it in that maniacal way he does when he’s saying something he knows is true even though it’s clearly not... this gives Wukong an idea, so he takes the antidote and just strolls casually into Red’s palace in the Fiery Mountains. Red is sitting on his throne and MK is perched in his lap with his face nuzzled into the king’s neck looking absolutely lovestruck. Red just smirks upon seeing the Monkey King enter his court, and he gloats a bit about how they tried to keep him and MK apart, but of course true love won out in the end. Wukong shrugs and says yeah, if you really think a love potion is the same as true love. Seems like a cop out in his opinion... Red is, once again, furious over the implication that MK’s under the influence of a potion. Their love is REAL, it’s just that Wukong and all MK’s stupid, treacherous friends refuse to see it! So Wukong tells Red to prove it, and he holds out the antidote. If MK drinks this and his feelings for Red stay the same, then it was real and Wukong will never try to take MK away from him again... But if not, that means it was a love potion and he has to let MK go. If Red knows for sure it’s real, then there’s no risk, right? King Red doesn’t trust Wukong, but of course his delusions about MK’s love for him are pretty strong, so he accepts the challenge and tells MK to drink the antidote. Meanwhile Wukong is praying to every god he knows the name of (some of which are probably still pissed at him but he’s trying anyway) that it’s not too late and the potion can still be reversed..

Luckily, it does work and the love-dumb fog that was clouding MK’s brain lifts and he looks up at Red and sees him, like really sees him, and he screams and squirms until he manages to jump up off his lap. Wukong snatches him up and flees because a deal is a deal, and Red is left on his throne looking completely devastated... later on as he thinks about it, he decides that this was all some trick by Wukong and that “antidote” he gave MK must have been some kind of magic potion that tricked MK into turning against him. He was enjoying having MK at his side and loving on him way too much for him to admit that it was actually due to magic, so he’s going to delude himself into thinking it was real for a long long time.. which is lucky for that one advisor who used the love potion because now he’ll never get caught.

Meanwhile, MK is welcomed back by his friends and he apologizes for acting so crazy and thinking he loved Red.. he really appreciates everything they did to save him even though he didn’t make it easy on them. Of course, they’re all just glad to have him back safe and sound and now also he’s going to have to be super duper careful about eating in public because they have no idea how that love potion got into him, and they are NOT risking this again. MK agrees and says now that he doesn’t have dumb brain, looking back on today, it was an absolute nightmare that he does not want to happen again, and then he excuses himself because he has to go brush his teeth for ten years.. because of reasons :U

If Prisoner MK even suspects a Red Son making any MK uncomfortable, he will put the fear of the very heavens in them. He reluctantly allows Prince Red to watch Demon MK because trauma prevents him from doing but he's on thin fucking ice. Continuing with the wrestling terms, if King Red is the heel of the Battle Nexus, Prisoner MK could be the face in contrast but one every Red Son fears.

Yes! Prisoner MK has a dramatic backstory and the protective instincts that make for a great main hero of the nexus. And yeah, he distrusts all of the Red Sons and doesn’t like them getting close to him OR the other MKs. I mean, mostly he concerns himself with making sure that they know to stay away from King Red, but he also probably warns them to keep an eye on their own Reds as well, especially the ones that are either in a relationship or considering starting one with Red Son.... he lets them know how he thought HIS Red loved him too and look what he ended up turning into.

Actually, now that I think about it, Prisoner MK probably distrusts Prince Red just as much or maybe even more than the others. When he goes to warn Prince Red’s version of MK about King Red and the surprised reaction he gets concerns him. That MK says he’s shocked because HIS version of Red is so nice! Prisoner MK asks for details and learns that Prince Red is constantly trying to get MK to give up being the Monkie Kid to “protect” him and also proposes like every other day and wants MK to move into his palace with him over in the Fiery Mountains. But MK just laughs it off saying it’s kind of cute and he doesn’t mind because his Red is so sweet about it... Prisoner MK is horrified. He knows how his own Red Son started out and he knows that his possessive behavior can escalate FAST. Unfortunately all the other MKs agree that Prince Red is charming and nice and definitely not on the same level as some of the other actually evil Red Sons, so they don’t listen to Prisoner MK when he says to keep their distance from him.. So that’s the story of why Prisoner MK watches Prince Red like a fucking hawk when he gets anywhere near any of the MKs.

I had an idea of Prisoner MK easing up on Prince Red a little after he's alone for something and King Red seizes the chance to corner him. Prince interrupts and he ends up getting into his regular argument with King about leaving the MKs alone!

Prince Red would definitely interfere if he caught King Red creeping on any of the MKs, and Prisoner MK is no exception even though he’s aware that MK hates him too. I don’t think that rescuing him from King Red is enough by itself to get him to change his mind about Prince Red, because he could also view it as one Red fighting off another in a possessive way, which he’s seen King Red do a lot... I think that his behavior after King Red was no longer a threat is what would help relax him a bit more. Prince Red would be sure to give Prisoner MK a lot of space and definitely wouldn’t reach out or try to touch him at all.. he’s already seen how this MK flinches away in previous interactions so he’ll just stand, not getting any closer, and then just quietly leave when one of the Meis or someone he trusts arrives to help him further... Prisoner MK still doesn’t trust the prince around the other MKs or anything, but at least he can count on him to stand up to King Red when necessary.

ANGST IDEA WITH BATTLE NEXUS! Prince Red's MK manages to sneak past Prisoner MK to spend time with Prince Red. Prisoner MK kind of hits a breaking point when he overhears them have a conversation that hits WAY TOO close to a past conversation with King Red and attacks Prince Red. He doesn't fight back or holds back to not hurt him which only makes Prisoner MK angrier. The other MKs stop him from seriously hurting Prince Red but it definitely leaves everyone shaken up.

Oohhh this is a great idea! We can have a lot of fun with Prisoner MK vs Prince Red stuff... There’s already so many parallels between the King Red and Prince Red AUs that are only different in reception because of the specific context of knowing Prince Red isn’t a bad guy... so if Prisoner MK catches Prince Red flirting with his own MK, from his position it could very much look like he’s got that MK cornered. And since there are so many parallels, I could totally see that conversation being a less threatening version of a conversation Prisoner MK has had with Demon King Red dozens of times. He doesn’t read it as less threatening though, because he doesn’t really know Prince Red the way his own MK does.

It’s definitely a triggering experience for him, and the similarity definitely scares him enough that he goes into full protective mode and rushes in to take a swipe at Prince Red with his staff. Red isn’t paying attention to him, so the only reason he doesn’t get hit is because Prince Red’s MK blocks it with his own staff at the last second. A couple of other MKs, and maybe even a couple of the Meis come over when they hear the commotion and try to calm him down, but Prisoner MK is not deterred. He also knows he can’t go through all of these other versions of himself and his friend in order to get to this prince creep, so he does the only thing he can think of- he challenges Prince Red to a match in the Battle Nexus... nobody takes this seriously, because they all know Prince Red refuses to fight in their multidimensional tournaments, so they continue trying to shuffle Prisoner MK away to calm him down. It’s a bit of a shock when Prince Red steps forward and accepts the challenge!

So the two go into the arena to face off, and nobody thinks this is a good idea.. everyone watching is super nervous about Prisoner MK fighting this version of Red. Whether they’re nervous for MK or Red is kind of a mix or a combination depending on what AU they’re from.. the fight itself is pretty one sided. Prince Red barely even tries, but from the viewpoint of someone who doesn’t know him it looks like he’s just an inexperienced fighter.. and none of them have ever seen him fight for real except the MK from his own universe so to them it looks like he’s just really bad at this but is trying his best. His own MK knows what’s going on though- Prince Red is just giving Prisoner MK a chance to work off some of that animosity towards him. He doesn’t like seeing his Red get knocked around like this, but if that’s what Prince Red thinks this other MK needs in order to get over his fear of him, then he accepts it and watches, just silently flinching every time Red takes a particularly painful looking hit.

I think the problem with Prince Red’s plan is that Prisoner MK has had a lot of experience fighting a version of Red that also does not want to fight him seriously, so he recognizes when someone is pulling their punches or letting themself get hit. In his mind it’s just one more way that this Red and King Red are the same, and this only stands to infuriate him even further. He brings it up at last, shouting at Prince Red that he knows he’s not taking this seriously and compares him once again to King Red who also refuses to ever hurt him. If he really wanted to prove he’s not like that mad king, he’d fight back for real!! Prince Red looks a little surprised that he’s been figured out, but then he just sighs and drops his fighting stance with a nod. He says well, if the only way to convince MK that he’s not evil is to hurt him... then he’ll just have to be content with being thought of as evil. Unfortunately, this clear motion that he’s standing down does nothing to deter Prisoner MK who is still in a fury- in his anger, he lifts the staff, growing it tenfold in size, and slams it down on Prince Red who does nothing to dodge out of the way as the staff is brought down on him, crushing the prince into the ground!

There’s a moment of horrified silence in the arena as Prisoner MK pulls the staff off the motionless form of Prince Red and shrinks it down again. He doesn’t look happy per se, but he looks at least a little satisfied.. that is until he hears something. Over in the stands there’s only one person making any noise now, and it’s a terrible sound Prisoner MK is very familiar with.. it’s King Red, sitting off in the distance away from the others, laughing his head off, cackling at how that stupid prince had this coming and shouting praise for his Darling MK for putting that goody-two-shoes in his place: the ground! This is what finally snaps him out of it as he glances between King Red in the stands and Prince Red, bloody in a crater on the ground as his own version of MK rushes from the stands to his side. He’s gone too far... he let his anger at King Red push him to hurting someone who was only trying to help him. He sees that now... suddenly there’s this deep, gut wrenching feeling of shame coursing through him, and he doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t know how to fix this... so he just runs out of the arena, trying his best to hide his tears.
