Trying the Wise King's patience

He nearly jumped out of his own skin when he heard the tapping of Gilgamesh's axe against the ground. His stance quickly became rigid as he rushed to obey the command, meeting the Wise King's stare with his own. "Y-Yes! Yes your majesty! I'll do my best!" Fresh determination flowed through him. Gilgamesh was a harsh task master that didn't accept failure but that was exactly why he'd gone to the wayward caster for help. He wasn't going to get anywhere if his Servants were just going to keep treating him like a toddler after all. He readied the magecraft again, attempting to reinforce the wooden sword that had been supplied to him. It was the simplest of simplest spells that any mage worth their salt could cast without a second thought but Nathan was very far from a proper mage and throttling his od was something he had simply never had to do until very recently. During the Singularities he had mystic codes to do the heavy lifting of casting spells for him but as things were he needed a backup plan just in case he didn't have access to them. Honestly though. How foolish could he be? He'd promised to be less of a burden on his Servants despite barely being of age and he'd decided the best way to fulfil that promise was to go to Wise King Gilgamesh for help. Well. He was going to become a better Master or die trying at this rate.

On Hephaestion in Fate

Iskandar’s closest friend…though he didn’t think so himself. While his sister spread such information around, Hephaestion was aware that was simply counter-intelligence. Hephaestion was inserted at Iskandar’s side so as, even if only a little, to reduce the chance of him being attacked. [...]  If alive today, he would no doubt be accused of having a siscon streak in him. In a way, one could say that fear became accurate after his death.

I hate what Fate series is trying to do with Hephaestion and Iskandar's relationship, I Know explicitly they're trying to make room for fujo shipbrainrot here by saying essentially that they don't have to worry about it; but there's problems.

Urobuchi and Nasu and etc. have all stated Iskandar is bisexual, there is no way they could've made that judgment unless they explicitly acknowledged the nature of Iskandar and Hephaestion's relationship. The fact is also that the parallels between Iskandar and Gilgamesh and their respective "closest friends" are very blatantly apparent through F/Z and other incarnations that like to put them together and Case Files as a novel itself also hasn't really made any attempt to discredit Hephaestion's importance to Iskandar, either.

It's weird also that they even use the word 'siscon' here because it almost implies that Hephaestion didn't feel anything for Iskandar as much -- which is so fucking bizarre, because Iskandar's love of Achilles and the Iliad has been present during the entirety of F/Z and through FGO and other incarnations, who do you think was Patroclus? Like there is no actual fucking way they could strip that Hephaestion was the Patroclus out. Of course though they have basically all-but erased Patroclus from Achilles' story as well.

The thing though is that this does also imply a lot more Olympias machinations. Because we know Faker was also something that was Olympias' doing, taking Hephaestion's twin sister and molding her into a nameless body-double for curses to be redirected towards in order to protect Iskandar. If that setting is true then yes of course Hephaestion is going to be fiercely protective of her because he's acutely aware that his sister is being used for something so dehumanizing on purpose and she doesn't even care about it; she's also thoroughly stripped of her own mental self-agency in that she's truly devoted to Iskandar and her brother and that's it.

So it can almost be inferred that in the Fateverse that Olympias essentially set up Hephaestion and Iskandar to be best friends rather than it being their choice in Aristotle's classroom -- or perhaps that Hephaestion fit the bill for what Olympias was looking for and so she began manipulating the situation accordingly. Hephaestion has always historically been remarked upon as being the smarter one so I don't doubt he would see Olympias' nonsense with his sister and be upset about it right away. Though, I mean, it's hard NOT to be upset with what Olympias was doing through Alexander's childhood; she poisoned all his siblings, including one that he did care for, she pushed him constantly into the spotlight for the sake of power, she even at one point bought a prostitute for him and begged him to have sex with her because his disinterest in women and sex at that age was something she felt personally concerned with (again, powergrabs, but also, definitely covert incest shit in noble families). The last anecdote I've listed is one that's not stated in Fate series but is something that happened historically.

The question then is whether or not Fate wants to legitimize Hephaestion's feelings towards Iskandar as mutual. It's possible that the phrasing here would imply that Hephaestion merely believed he could not be as close to Iskandar's heart as he truly was; something that, given the amount of personal relationships Iskandar had, isn't a hard thought of self-doubt to keep. Iskandar had many relationships and all were very important to him for many reasons (Ionioi Hetairoi existing makes this obvious). It's just that truly, his relationship with Hephaestion was the Most important, and for Hephaestion to even be relevant in this manner or even discussable in this manner also adds to that.

If Hephaestion was (presumably) opposed to Olympias and protective of his sister, why would he follow Iskandar in the Fate verse, then? The benefit of course being power, which isn't something one would scoff at in this setting, but I truly doubt that Hephaestion would simply go for powergrabs if the whole point is that the people who followed Iskandar did so because they admired him and loved him. But that brings up another point.

Hephaestion has been absent from Ionioi Hetairoi and from character designs or materials despite his significance until the Case Files manga. There has been no depiction of Hephaestion himself in any material featuring Ionioi Hetairoi, the 10,000 strong army of Iskandar, of which features his most important relationships. Faker was also absent. What does this imply?

Faker's absence was due to protest. We know this from information from Case Files. Faker also has the ability as we know from Lady Reines' Case Files to be able to summon Ionioi Hetairoi herself, featuring Iskandar within it. One would presume Hephaestion also has this ability. But why is Hephaestion not there at all?

A few options -

Hephaestion IS there, Waver just doesn't want to talk about him because he's insane in the head or whatever

Hephaestion is there, but in the back or something -- his role being not forefront is the reason why he's in the shadows; something that is remarked upon in historical analysis as to why we know so little about Hephaestion even now. Hephaestion's role traditionally was to do a lot of the "dirty work", and so his position was less favorable to put the spotlight on in comparison to the sun-shining glory of Iskandar.

Hephaestion is not there because of protest, much like his sister.

Hephaestion is not there because he is not that important of a relationship to Iskandar...

Hephaestion is not there because he doesn't truly exist.

I generally feel like I trust Makoto Sanda to not go this route, but there has been (somewhat baseless) speculation that Hephaestion was actually Iskandar's split personality. I Highly Doubt That This Was The Case in Fate series given the way it has treated Hephaestion thus far as a figure, but it would explain why Hephaestion has been a complete phantom in the series and in Iskandar's recollection.

Though I think personally it's more likely that it's 2 or 3, I don't think that it's out of the question for it to be the simply negligent option 1 or the outright ahistorical option 4.

The other question is: why is Fate series so negligent of Hephaestion?

That's easy to answer from certain standpoints -- one is because it gives them more room to make money off of fans that are there from the sheer yaoi market that Isuwei as a pairing as brought in. Like from a marketing standpoint it is blatantly obviously advantageous to simply ignore Hephaestion until the end of time.

The other reason adding on to that is because in terms of representing gay content, Fate series really considers itself to have no liability to do so, especially when there's such a massive fan following for a male/male pairing. The fans make the majority of the content, so TM's work is done, and they can hand off crumbs to people hungry for them and keep fans of the actual historical figures begging for scraps with little things while rewriting it to suit their needs. It's the reason why Achilles doesn't have Patroclus despite the significance. It's also why the genderbends are so predominant; it's what's keeping the money going. In the recent GudaGuda event Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin's historical homoerotic relationship is explored but the weight of it lessened as Uesugi is not just a genderbend but also one of Takeuchi's designs. So the risk of straight male fan complaints about yucky gay stuff is lessened because Uesugi isn't "really a guy" in Fate here.

Type Moon hasn't really been one to look up to in terms of whether or not they will give realistic male/male representation in pairings; either one side of the pairing or both have to be in a female body, thus leaving what would normally be a m/m pairing as a "safer" yuri f/f pairing (which then benefits their marketing as well as the majoritively male fanbase is easier to sell to).

The problem though is whether or not it is going to mesh with the rest of the story.

As I said from a marketing standpoint it is obvious that ignoring Hephaestion is beneficial. But from a narrative standpoint -- and this is Sanda's challenge -- ignoring Hephaestion forever just doesn't make sense.

There is no Iskandar without Hephaestion. It is impossible to write a story about Iskandar that involves ANY aspect of the historical portion of him without mentioning Hephaestion. And the fact that Hephaestion was mentioned at all was Fate series' first mistake.

Iskandar's materials have him listed as Dhul Qarnayn, aka the Great King mentioned in the Quran as one of the ideal ways a King should exist. The reason for THIS is because of the Persian Alexander Romance. The Alexander Romance is basically a legend-version of Alexander the Great's story in which Hephaestion's presence is very little or just outright absent. It is a fantastical version of Alexander the Great's kinghood in which he performs many great deeds. There are Greek, Persian, Syrian, Hebrew, Ethiopian, Nigerian, Indian, Malaysian, Byzantine and even more chrono-regional versions of this story, and each one features that mysticism that made Alexander the Great into such a worldwide figure today.

It is pretty apparent that a lot of Iskandar's characterization comes also from the version presented in the Alexander Romance. His being Dhul Qarnayn solidifies this. It would have been easy to continue to ignore Hephaestion if they simply continued to go down this route -- the Alexander Romance features little stories featuring him, and glorifies Iskandar into this God-chosen figure, and in some versions, even as a prophet of God.

But in Case Files Faker is introduced and so is Hephaestion as a figure that did exist. Hephaestion is given some material, but never appears, except as a version spoken of by his newly-conceptualized twin sister. (Hephaestion did not have a twin sister in history, but that much should be common knowledge).

Hephaestion's absence then becomes this bleeding, gaping wound in the story, where the writing fails to stick to just one version of Iskandar -- and chooses to also associate with Alexander the Great the Historical version. Hephaestion's absence leaves this hole at the core of a lot of Iskandar's lacking characterization, where we see this vibrant, energetic character full of appreciation and care and love for those around him, except the man he was told to have loved and been close to the most.

And again. Hephaestion's importance to Alexander within history itself cannot be understated. I've mentioned before the sheer amount of money that went into Hephaestion's funeral, the fact that Alexander started executing people who had beefed with Hephaestion before (Eumenes was one such person who narrowly escaped the threat of execution because of his poor relationship with Hephaestion), Alexander executed the doctor who was in charge of Hephaestion and otherwise went on a complete megalomaniacal spree in the 8 months between Hephaestion's death and his own. There was no Alexander without Hephaestion. For Fate to come in and say that Hephaestion did not think he was the closest person to Alexander is to understate the megalomaniacism of the later Alexander's historical life, which strips from the character we are also inferred of through Faker's recollections in Case Files.

Faker often warns about getting too close to Iskandar, stating to Gray "The King is like the sun. Its heat burns away anything that gets too close." For the man who was considered equal to this sun, his absence is like that of a black hole where the rest of Iskandar's character is held. I also accept scraps of Iskandar's characterization here and there from various authors and depictions; I'm not saying I'm better than anyone on that note. But the frustration as an Iskandar fan I have at the sheer lack of consistency is what compels me to write on my own.

I generally have been very trusting of Makoto Sanda as an author to wrap up fine details, and he's generally been very consistent -- the inclusion of Ergo as Alexander IV's repo'd body in Adventures is still messy but the conclusion of Case Files was overall pretty decent. But it would still behoove him to write more on Hephaestion as a character or for the developers to genuinely consider adding in Hephaestion and fleshing him out; otherwise we miss so much of Iskandar and so much of what we think is going on in the Fate version of the Hellenic Empire history because that one piece is missing.

Punch: Cream gave Sonic the idea of being a florist. Because Sonic usually goes to sleep outside or runs in Greenhill, Sonic starts to plant many flowers and make Greenhill more alive. However, because he needs to hide from Eggman's view(if Eggman sees him, the fight will begin, and don't worry; he destroys everything in Greenhill again), he dresses up as the florist and sells flowers around the world.

Peter: Hmm.....you still have a soft spot for a kid, Gil.

Gilgamesh: And?

Peter: You are also a dresser.

Gilgamesh: I am genderless you stupid.

Peter: Uh.......why are you red then?

Gilgamesh: Who said anything that I feel embarrassed about, huh?

Peter & Punch: Yeah yeah we know.

Periwinkle: But that time my king was really super pretty even Peter was stunned by your beautifulness.

Punch: Wait, Peter was?

Enkidu: He's silent. Gil must been so embarrassing.

Gilgamesh: See that Shamash like that but he actually was the sun god that very jerk and pain me in my butt, even Nammu will be safe with Shamash's help, he's not worth it.

Enkidu: That's how you actually feel?!

Gilgamesh: Who's care? He death. That's the matter?

Peter: So how about Danny?

Gilgamesh: Simple, he just wants me to be a normal "girl"---erm---he wanted to show her over and over this world has more----even more enjoyable things, enough to make any hardships seem like nothing. To be able to feel all the normal things as something normal.....he wanted to make Punch's happy and what it meant to be alive.

Peter: "It's true that you're selfish, you don't listen to other people, and you're full of problems. But, other than that, you're pretty normal. You're not broken, you're just like a normal girl." Right?

Gilgamesh: --------

Peter: You red again.

Gilgamesh: I can't show my weakness because now I am the king. All of this entire world belongs to me like my treasure. I must not hesitate so that no enemies which generations cannot overcome me. I am non-human, yet I cannot be non-human. We're alike, you, Danny, Punch and me. That's why I cannot cut ties together by fate, that link will never disappear. Peter: Gil? Are you okay? This is not like you at all. Gilgamesh: Maybe I'm not....I guess so....it's not like me. Peter: *Turns to Sad face when Peter realizes how lonely and painful PUNCH is*

Punch: ................

Danny: It's true that you're selfish, you don't listen to other people, and you're full of problems. But, other than that, you're pretty normal. You're not broken, you're just like a normal girl. Punch: --------------That's pretty mean. Am I really that selfish? Danny: Uh huh. (I want her to know. There are so many things to do in this world, and although most of it is useless and meaningless, knowing those is part of the fun of being alive. ......I wanted to tell her. Title: Golden Savior

Pairing: Luke x Fem reader (Gilgamesh power holder)

It's been a couple of days since Carver and his men capture Luke and the others, alongside Kenny with his girlfriend Sarita, especially y/n. Now, all of them watched how Carver beats Kenny and crushed his other eye with the walkie talkie Clem stole for their "escape plan". Y/n saw how panic Sarita is and Carlos stopping her, she couldn't watched any longer... She decided to run towards Kenny to aid him but she was greeted by the end of a gun slam on her cheeks, making her stumble on the ground, laying on the ground unconscious.

Luke: Y/n!

Luke's voice was full of rage from the scene he saw, he doesn't care if he received a heavy beating but seeing his girlfriend knock out unconsciously makes his blood boil.

Luke: you son of a bitch! I'll kill you!

Luke said to the sadistic man, full of vengeance on his tone. Carver chuckled because he never saw Luke this mad.

Carver: "aw why are you like that Luke? Is it because of that woman over there? Aww Luke found a girlfriend now"

Carver continues beating Kenny until Bonnie pops in;

Bonnie: "Bill! That's enough! Bill that's enough listen to me!"

Carver gave her a look and stopped, starring at her eyes intensely. Bonnie cleared her throat.

Bonnie: "there is a breach,"

Carver hummed and give a glance to the beaten group.

Carver:"okay, Bonnie keep an eye on these people, now no supper for you all tonight! Let's see if it will make you all different"

Carver and the others goes out from the scene, following up with Troy closing the metal sliding door. Bonnie broke off the silence and said;

Bonnie: "we are leaving, tonight."

The group was shocked from what Bonnie said, all googly pop out eyes and mouth gape.

Bonne: "We are leaving, tonight!"

She repeatedly said while caressing y/n's shoulder. Bonnie stepped out to not make the situation suspicious due to her presence's absence, Luke didn't hesitately huddle up to y/n and try waking her up.

Luke: "hey hey hey, y/n wake up. Please wake up..."

Carlos: "give her some rest, she got knocked out but I can say she will wake up"

Clem: "Kenny..."

Luke and Carlos looked at the two girls crying, making them feel guilty and sad from dragging them in this hole... Luke lift y/n up in a bridal style and put her on the double deck bed to posture her up right to make sure she got a fully rest. Now, the group killing the time while chatting about the escape plan for tonight infront of a bonfire.

Now it's a chilling night, y/n was starting to open her eyes, only to hear arguing.

Luke: "fuck you, Jane! We are not leaving y/n, same as Kenny, that's not fair"

Carlos: "I understand your anger but-"

Kenny: "bullshit doc, we are not gonna leave her behind, I'm not gonna let you all just dump her in this hell hole. The turds right! It's not fair-"

Y/n: "you all don't have to worry about it, I won't let myself be a burden to all of you"

Y/n limping walk towards them, panting and look at them seriously.

Mike: "damn, you are tough"

Y/n: "thanks, chocolates"

Mike chuckled from her statement and the others start giving her hugs due to the concern they felt.

Rebecca: "thank god you finally woke up"

Y/n: "I'm thankful too"

Y/n looked at Luke who suddenly hugs him tight and kiss her long, doesn't care if the group could watch their moment. Soon after, Luke broke the kiss while he was still hugging him.

Luke: "I thought you won't wake up..."

Y/n: "I won't die easily, handsome"

Luke and Y/n softly chuckled and she caresses Luke's back to reassure him then she broke off the hug, scanning the area and sigh with hesitation while looking at the group. Rebecca noticed it and spoke;

Rebecca:"what is it?"

Y/n: "do you all... Want to conquer this base?"

Carlos: "what do you mean?"

Now the whole group was focused at y/n.

Y/n: "conquer, conquering this base full of necessary supplies and armory."

The group looked at each other then Carlos speak up;

Carlos: "that would be a good shot to conquer this base but you do exactly know that we are outnumbered and unarmed also there are a lot of walkers out there"

Y/n: "you don't have to worry about it, Carlos. Just follow the plan you have all made, I'll deal with the rest so..."

Y/n looked to the group, holding her hand up in a handshake mode and adds up;

Y/n: "only I need is someone who's gonna close my deal, shaked my hand and I'll make sure that will happen"

Carlos: "wait, I don't clearly understand what you are up to-"

Luke: "" wait y/n-"

Before the two men finish their sentences, Kenny goes upfront and shake y/n's hand firmly and sealed.

Kenny: "I don't give a shit what happened to me after sealing the deal you offer but making sure all the people with us right now will never be needed to run forever so.."

Kenny aligned himself and spoke again;

Kenny: "I, Kenny the old man you help around, sealing this deal with me"

Y/n shake his hand back.

Y/n: "my pleasure doing business with you, Kenny. The deal is now sealed"

Kenny: "give your all for this, kid"

Y/n: "sure will do, sir"

After it, they now proceed to their plan, Clem starts to get boosted up by Mike and climbing up after Rebecca gives her instructions. Soon after the plan is already running, the PA system was successfully activated by Clementine, Bonnie lifted up the door and commanded them to move, everyone was moving and suddenly Luke approach y/n while his hands resting at her shoulder.

Luke: "what are you up to, darling?"

Y/n: "something heroic hehe"

Luke turned y/n and stare at her before giving her a passionate warm kiss, y/n kisses back and they both broke it off.

Y/n: "go now, Luke. I'll be doing something here first"

Luke caresses her cheek and said;

Luke: "be careful my darling, I'll literally marry you after this rebellious war"

Y/n: "I know, darling"

They both smiled at each other and Luke ran off to go with the others, leaving y/n alone, she pulled out a knife and start to cut her palm, making her bleed and starting her chant.

Y/n: "god of the powerful strength, the treasure ruler around the whole earth, lend me your grace, lend me the weapon that will bring justice, protection, and chaos. I offer my life for the people who seeks safety and vitue, I'll shoulder your power with honor, Gilgamesh!"

A divining light starts to light up at y/n's body, making her beam as a mountain of gold. Transformation of hers will cause shock to the others.

The plan that Luke and the group are doing well until Carver corner them in the storage room, Clem tries to jump kick Carver but only hitted his ear causes Clem to fall from her butt. Carver aligned himself and pointed his gun at them. Rebecca noticed Alvin was not with Clementine.

Rebecca: "where's Alvin?"

Clementine kept quiet, she got the hint and couldn't believe it, now the only emotion runs at her body was anger...

Rebecca: "fuck you, Bill"

Carver: "that guy is on our way to a happy life, but now, all of you go at my limit, you all ungrateful shits, I should just kill you at the ski resort! But it's fine, I'll just do it here, right now-"

Before Carver finished his sentence, he felt his knees get struck by swords causing him to be dropped at the floor, Luke quickly takes the gun out of Carver. All of them are now focuses to the person, of more likely, a goddess approaching them.

Y/n: "I would not let you harm them, Mr. Carver"

The group was shocked and gaze to her form. Her form, a shiny golden hair, lava colored eyes, golden female armor revealing her skin and the beauty highlight parts of her body, golden strap from her one arm and a golden strap from her one leg up to thighs, a golden light weighted broadsword on her as a weapon, and also, the archangel type wings made from golden swords. All of them couldn't speak and just stare at y/n until Carver laugh.

Carver: "I know who god you have, Gilgamesh the goldie shit hahaha"

Y/n uses the end of her sword to make Carver look up at her. Carver smirk

Y/n: "quite a talker from a peasant sheep you are, I wouldn't harm you, you are not my business but Kenny sure do"

Carver: "what?"

Kenny: "my pleasure, now what?"

Y/n approach Luke and the others, unintentionally making them mesmerizing about her appearance.

Y/n: "clear all the others that goes at Carver's side, don't leave them alive."

Y/n coldly replied and everyone follow up, suddenly Luke grab her wrist softly.

Luke: "where are you going?"

Y/n: "making my deal came true"

Luke nodded and let go of her wrist, y/n sprint off to the exit.

After a couple hours of fighting Carver's men, the group successfully finished them off, Kenny successfully finished Carver. They decide to check what's going on the outside since they heard a lot of falling and felt a ground shaking. They slowly opened the door and got out, they wander their sight and couldn't believe what they saw...

Big claymore swords that look like what knights use, drop tight on the ground, re-creating the fences as defenses and then they soon saw a flying person on the sky. Y/n, swinging like a bird, killing a walker again and again, soon she is making a raining sword dropped off to all the rest walkers who still lived. After a moment, it's all finished, the horde got wiped out, same against Carver's men, y/n successfully conquer the base with the group. Y/n lowered her flying, landing on the ground and said;

Y/n: "now we conquer that fucker's base, all of you need is to sustain and grow this outpost"

The group cheered with relief and happiness, knowing they won't have to run anymore and already settling in. However, the group got quiet and looked at y/n, the golden savior was confused why they are now suddenly looking at her, she was about to speak when Luke got the time to speak first;

Luke: "what do you mean by that?"

Y/n noticed the panic and concern on his tone, making the others question it too.

Y/n: "I couldn't stay with all of you, Luke. I may have saved this base from a huge horde, however there is a possibility that I will lose control..."

Carlos: "what makes you think that?"

The group was shocked and all eyes are widen at sadness and dismay, they couldn't believe that they just let y/n do all this without knowing their is a price when it comes to it. Kenny broke off the silence, y/n look at Kenny. The old man spoke;

Kenny: "what will I receive from the deal?"

Y/n: "name me a body part of yours and I will resin it to gold"

The group gasp on what y/n said.

Nick: "wait wait hold on-"

Kenny: "it's okay vanilla ice, now hmm... just plainly my arm, kid"

Kenny rolled up his sleeve and held up his arm and waiting for her to do anything on it, y/n grasp firmly at Kenny's hand, seeing his arm starting to turned to gold. Y/n: "well you won't have to think about walker's bite in that arm since it is fully gold"

Kenny: "goddamn, now I appreciate this more"

Y/n chuckled and suddenly she light up again in a gold beam, making the others cover their eyes. Soon after, y/n fell unconscious, thankfully Kenny was on time to catch her up, Kenny noticed that y/n was still have a golden hair and plucked open her one eye to see her eye is still lava colored, after a second of checking up on her, he noticed her armor clothing was gone, leaving her naked, he looked away. Luke ran towards them and saw his girlfriend's body naked, he got flustered and removed his pullover jacket and put it on her.

Luke: "she passed out, let's get inside now"

The others oblige and come inside, Luke lifting up the unconscious beauty on his arms, sealing off the door for safety.

Y/n gasp and waking up, jolted up to her slumber. She noticed she wearing a orange pullover jacket-

Y/n: "Luke..."

She started to scan the area, she noticed she was in a room and saw her backpack was on the side of the mattress. She took the bag and scattered it to look for clothing, she finally found extra undergarments, a tank top with broken buttons on the chest, a cargo pants, a plain sock, and a low cut combat boots. She remove Luke's pullover jacket and start to dress on her clothes.and tying her hair up to a bun. She got out of the room with Luke's cloth on her arm and wandered off, soon she stumble to the others, Bonnie starting to cook, Carlos checking up on Kenny's eyes while Clementine on his side, Sarita and Sarah making conversation on the side, nick and Luke moving some tables as a dining table. Y/n cleared her throat;

Y/n: "hey, guys"

Luke picked up her voice and ran towards her, giving her a tight hug where she hugged back. It followed up with the group's gaze.

Carlos: "y/n we couldn't thank you enough from what you do for us, we are deeply thankful to you"

Sarah: "thank you, golden sis"

Sarita: "thank you very much, kid"

Mike: "you are one gold badass woman"

Bonnie: "thank you"

Kenny: "you really are powerful"

Nick: "thank you, for not giving us up"

Y/n rubbing Luke's back and appreciating all the gratitude they are showing to her, she notice Jane was not around.

Luke took something on his pocket-a box like item then got down in one knee, the group was starting to cheer up on him, making y/n gasp and couldn't believe what's going to happen.

Luke: "y/n, I here by this day to continue love, care, protect you, also making you happy, tying the knot to eternity. Through sickness and cure, till death do us part. Y/n, will you be my wife?"

Luke pulling up the ring and y/n couldn't help cry and spoke;

Luke smiled and tearing up while putting the ring at her ring finger, him giving the pair to her to make her put it on his ring finger as well, now they sealed it with a sweet passionate kiss. The others clapped and cheered more for the blissful scene they witness and now nick said;

Nick: "Luke the Casanova is now married to a goddess goldilocks"

Making the newlyweds laughed.

Luke: "well I'm happy to have her in my life"

Y/n: "awe, the feelings is mutual, handsome"

Kenny: "looks like if we let these two breed peacefully, there will have the most strong army"

Bonnie: "now now that's enough, to celebrate the newlyweds, let's feast and enjoy our meal"

Luke, y/n, and the others start to sat on and eat the meal Bonnie did. Making conversation with carefree, enjoying every time they spent to build up connection and family. But, for sure these people will never get enough sleep once Luke and y/n start the "session". More important is that, all of them are now feel safe and no need to run again.

Okay. Okay but. In the event that this is not a canon divergence situation where Things are revealed and it changes everything (admittedly that is my absolute jam) and otherwise the rest of the Paris College Arc goes exactly the same then...

Then this is strange unusual information for the both of them but they carry on, just keeping it in mind in case it ever becomes relevant.

So then Gil will meet Agatha and at first he's just "yeah she's cool and interesting" just like canon, only then when she's revealed as the hidden Lady Heterodyne he remembers what he was told before and goes "oh". So he tries to find her and fails but this time there's an undercurrent to it of unfulfilled tragic destiny until he finds out she's alive. Overall Gil towards Agatha is basically the same but being validated by The Future might make him a little bit more.

Then Tarvek meets Agatha, and he knows that's Lucrezia's daughter and then they all find out she's the lost Lady Heterodyne. This affects him emotionally but like, crazy family gonna be crazy family, so things go the same way. Agatha gets possessed and he tries to help her but Lucrezia is going to be Lucrezia. Agatha eventually gets out and away, Tarvek nearly dies and then is taken to Mechanicsburg Hospital, all same as canon.

Agatha, of course, does not know about this message from the future, so she continues on as ever.

No, things only really get interesting when Tarvek hears that the son of Baron Wulfenbach is out there. Same "ah, sounds like a doofus, my lady, probably not worth your time" reaction but in his head he's experiencing some emotions about it. Only then he learns that Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, the Baron's son and heir to the empire, is in fact Gil, the Gil he knew. Some things about Gil's reaction to the incident in Paris click into place for him, but a lot of internal screaming is also happening. Because according to someone from the future, he becomes entangled with not only the Lady Heterodyne, lovely brilliant Agatha, but also the Young Baron, who can only be the current Baron's heir, one Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, a person with whom he has a complicated and fraught history. So like, he's feeling some emotions, maybe some despair, almost certainly tragic yearning, definitely some renewed heartbreak. But things are happening and he has a job to do and also he's dying. That all works out and strangely enough Gil actually like, cares about keeping him alive? is willing to tie their fates together temporarily in order to save him? He doesn't know what to do with that but he doesn't have to because emotions are supposed to be locked down anyway. So that's all just fine and dandy, no worries here. But then, because there's a tense political situation here with machinations all over the place going in different directions, Gil needs to know who Tarvek is so he can explain the details of this political mess and the contradicting schemes running here.

So. Gil now knows that Tarvek, his former best friend, his first betrayal, his college rival, his romantic rival, his long-term obsession, is in fact the Storm King, that person he is supposedly also going to be connected to, which Tarvek knows because he was there and wow there's a lot going on there. It explains a lot about Tarvek's reactions to things back in Paris. It also makes everything else much more confusing. But we don't have time to unpack all of that, because we are being knocked out with gas and imprisoned in Agatha's own castle by her impersonator. So much is going on and there is no time to sort any of this out but despite it all, despite it all, maybe what this means is that they'll all stay together.

Maybe, when Gil finds Tarvek running his empire in his absence and they have a talk, not about this of course, but about the past and what happened to their friendship and that neither of them actually meant to betray the other and it was fundamentally a tragic misunderstanding, well, maybe it means that the two of them will stay together, if only due to their mutual connection to Agatha. Maybe this time they'll get to keep each other.

I think it would be very funny if, during their schooling in Paris, Gil and/or Tarvek encountered an alleged Time Traveler with the stated goal of "Freeing Europa from tyranny be preventing the Young Baron Wulfenbach, the Lady Heterodyne, and the Storm King from having a threesome."

GOD.

The sheer volume of identity shenanigans being put under stress here. Tarvek previously had no inkling the baron has an heir and would assume any Heterodyne is a convincing fake. Gil is like "with Blorbo from my novels and Blorbo from Tarvek's fairy tales? ? ? ?" Both are put on the back foot by how personally invested the other appears to be in the scenario. Chaos.

"She's doing it again" Gilgamesh frowned "Thena! She's doing it again!"

"Again?"

"It's the fifth time this week" Phastos said, joining them in the stands.

Usually, he'd be in his workshop, grateful that the rest of the Eternals were finally quiet, but ever since you'd come into their lives, he had to admit that he'd been taking more and more breaks. He couldn't help it, the current situation was too funny for everyone.

Ajak, the leader, the prime eternal, was in love. She was totally and completely head over heels in love with you. None of them knew the full story, because the woman had strictly forbidden you to talk about how you met, but that didn't stop them from having fun.

It was inevitable, you were the best thing that had happened to them in...a long time. You were strong enough to fight Thena and Kingo, smart enough to follow Phastos' conversations, you loved talking to Druig about human morality, you didn't mind making a fool of yourself to play with Sprite and Sersi, and you were as kind and cool as Gilgamesh and Makkari. Even Ikaris had developed a soft spot for you, treating you like a sister.

And most importantly: you were immortal, despite not exactly being an eternal. So neither of them had to worry about you getting hurt in battle (not that Ajak paid attention to that detail, she was always nervous when you went to fight), or time closing in on you and you dying while they blinked.

You were the perfect match for Ajak, and everyone could see the love the woman had for you, one that was fully reflected in your eyes as well. Sprite and Kingo had teased a bit the first time they saw you kissing, but deep down they all knew that you were a permanent part of their lives now, they just needed to make it official.

Which would be easier if Ajak would stop blushing like a schoolgirl with her first crush every time she saw you and finally ask you the all-important question. They had all given her space, not wanting to pressure her, but it had been years since you had been with them and everyone was running out of patience.

"What are we watching?" Druig asked, appearing out of nowhere.

"Ajak is watching Makkari and Y/N train" Thena explained "We are watching Ajak being a nervous wreck while she watches Makkari and Y/N train"

"My favorite show" he replied, standing next to Phastos.

Ajak kept her gaze on you, pretending not to hear her friends behind her. She wasn't stupid, she knew that sooner or later they were going to come up with the same request as always, but the answer was still no. It's not that she didn't want to take that step, she loved you, but it made her nervous to think about the M word.

"Why don't you make her a camera, Phastos? It'll last her longer" Thena smiled as Ajak flinched.

"Oh, I'm sure it's not necessary" the man answered trying to contain a laugh "she already has Y/N’s image completely burned into her mind"

"I told you to let me into Y/N's mind" Druig intervened "this would have been over years ago"

"Enough!"

The four Eternals jumped as the leader approached them with fire in her eyes and her face completely red. Maybe she was shorter than all of them, but an annoying Ajak always commanded respect, even from Thena.

"I will not tolerate this...taunting from you, is that clear?"

"We would stop doing it if you did what you have to do" Thena replied. (I said that she commanded respect, not fear)

"I don’t know what you're talking about"

"Ajak, you're daydreaming about kissing Y/N all the time" Druig said

"That's not true" the woman blushed

"She's daydreaming about fucking her all the time" the blonde smirked.

"THENA!"

“You didn’t deny it”

"m-hmm, kisses and sex, that's what marriage is all about, you're dreaming of marrying her" Phastos smiled

"Enough! Get out of here, all of you"

"Did I hear Ajak, Y/N, and marriage in the same sentence?" Kingo asked, sticking his head through the arch of the door "Ohhhh, finally?! Excellent!! I already have everything planned, wait, I'm going to get my notebook, this will be the best wedding ever!!"

"Kingo!"

Ajak let out a mortified groan as the other four Eternals laughed around her. Was it really that hard to ask for a little privacy in this family?!

"Who's getting married?" you asked, appearing suddenly behind her

The prime eternal froze in her place and glanced sideways at Thena, who was failing miserably to hide her victorious smile. She was going to kill each and every one of them in their sleep.

"You and Ajak!" Kingo replied from inside "Don't worry, I'll send you the invitation tomorrow when I have your dress!"

Control-Druig x Reader

Summary: When the Eternals went their separate ways, Druig chose to look after you. Just like Thena you're powers can get out of control. Whenever you feel emotions, they get the best of you. So, he'll have no choice but to act if things get out of control.

Every one of the Eternals began to argue. It has been a while since we arrived on Earth and humanity is slowly growing into what they must become, but the more we stayed the more they began to progress for worse. We were all having a lovely night until a few groups of men began to fight each other with small weapons, fire began to burn down a couple of houses and trees.

"Look what happened!"

"I warned you this would happen but none of you seemed to care. If only I can-"

"Druig, no!" Ajak clearly spoke. I looked up from my spot and saw them both staring at one another. "We cannot interfer anymore, they must grow and learn on their own from their mistakes."

Druig was disappointed. He rested his arm down again and smirked at Ajak and the rest. "Then, I guess I can't stay with you any longer."

"What should we do then?" Makkari told us through hand sign.

"We did what we had to do. The Deviants have been defeated, there's no more reason for us to stick together." Ajak told her, to all of us.

There's no reason for us to stay together? We've been together for centuries what are we supposed to do. My breathing began to quicken, I began to get scared and stressed, this and the humans fighting was getting to me.

I had to witness a few people I helped back then get their lives taken away too early. I sat down and began to hug my knees to my chest, "(Y/N), you must calm down." Ajak ordered me.

"We did this..how can we stop this?" I whispered and felt the ground beneath us shaking.

The people outside began to gasp and scream when the earth began to shake. "(Y/N)!" Ikaris shouted for me to control myself.

"There's no need to shout! It's not their fault they can't control their power!" Druig shouted back and defended me.

"He is right. She is no different than Thena when she gets dangerous." Gilgamesh told them. Thena was afraid as well, she suddenly was about to attack us until Ajak made her stop.

The ground continued to shake but less than before because some pieces of the building we were on has fallen. "What should we do then?" Kingo spoke this time.

"If we stay together who knows what might happen. Things could get worse, I'm afraid we'll have to fix up Thena." We all knew what that meant when she referred to Thena.

"But she won't be the same." Sprite said concerned over Thena who was shaking too.

"No. I'll look after her." Gilgamesh said without a second thought. This made Ajak give him a concerned look.

"If this happens again, she might try to kill you again."

Gilgamesh shrugged and didn't seem to care. Thena gave the man a smile and held onto his hand, "I'll take good care of her."

"But what about, (Y/N)? Gilgamesh you have to look after her." Kingo said looking at the delicate state I am in.

Ajak intervened and shook her head. "They are way too powerful to be together in one place. Gilgamesh won't be able to handle two."

"Well, I can't look after them." Ikaris scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest.

I began to get upset, angry at him. He's always been this way towards me, the ground began to shake again and darkness filled the sky. "(Y/N)! Calm down." Ajak came to me and held my head making me look into her dark eyes.

"If you still don't learn how to control your emotions they will end up killing you and everyone else."

This always happened. Whenever I'd get upset, angry or too worried bad things would happen. "I'll look after (Y/N)."

We all turned back and saw Druig with a stoic expression. His cold blue eyes stared at everyone and then to me. Ajak stood tall and was about to refuse, she knew he wasn't the best one for look after me, knowing how he is and how he controls people.

Druig and I weren't exactly close to one another so suddenly having him as basically being my guardian, looking after me, made me concerned as well.

"I don't think you're fit to-"

Druig walked past Ajak and the rest of the team and came to kneel in front of me. "She's just confused, lost and needs guidance."

"Are we sure we should let this happen?" Phastos grew concerned for us both. All of us really.

"This is the only way. She'll have to learn eventually how to control her powers properly." I heard Sersi tell the team.

Druig took my hand and made me look at him. "Yeah, she's coming with me. You all seemed to give up on her, right? That's what you always do." He muttered. Druig helped me up on my feet and told me to follow him.

Makkari stepped in front of him and asked, "What will happen if she suddenly hurts you? Or anyone else? What then?"

Druig's expression softened and he glanced back at me quick. "Then I'll have to do what I do best."

Mind control. That's what he meant. I'm not sure if his powers would work on me since we're Eternals, but I guess he'll have to try if something bad were to happen. "You know what to do of things turn sideways." We heard Ajak tell him.

Druig ignored her words. I stood next to him and saw his eyes turn bright gold, suddenly the humans stopped fighting and threw their weapons. "Let's go." He whispered to me.

I hurried and followed him down the stairs and I tried to remain calm when I saw everyone following us, they no longer had control of themselves. Well, sort of, it is hard to explain. They remain being themselves but can't do much.

I didn't realize how much we had walked, we were no longer close to where we once were, it was extremely dark and we were now surrounded by trees. We made it to the Amazon. We walked past a river and made it to what was going to be our home.

Druig hadn't spoken a single word to me. As soon as we made it he told the people to begin construction, to build houses and everything necessary to live. I stayed behind and sat down alone, looking at everyone walk past me and get to business.

"Why are you here on you're own?" Druig's peaceful but strict voice asked me. I was taken back since I didn't hear him coming, I was getting nervous again.

There was a cold chill and trees began to blow. Druig stared at me with cold eyes and hummed to himself. "I'm not going to say this again." He said leaning closer to me. "I don't have patience, so you better get yourself together or I will have to control you."

Small tears began to form in my eyes, but I couldn't help but agree. At the slightest of emotions I can create earthquakes, a storm or maybe accidentally kill someone.

"Now, we have to strat your training."

"Right n-now?" I stuttered and finally spoke to him. "Do you see yourself as one of them? or one of us. Better and superior."

Druig hates humans. Humanity for how rapidly they've been evolving, half of them already murderers and without regrets for the things they've done.

"I'm waiting for your answer, (Y/N)." He began to get annoyed at my patience. He scoffed when I didn't answer him.

"We're on our own from now on. Ajak, Ikaris, Kingo. They've all let you down. Neither of one were going to take you in...I see the way you've been treated, which is why I stepped in. You are a time bomb at any second you might explode if you aren't careful."

Druig made me stand up again and faced me, still with cold eyes and hard expression. "How is this going to work?" Druig's eyes began to glow. Everyone stopped what they were doing I'm trying to look at us, at me.

"You are an Eternal. You cannot let small insignificant words affect you, like it or not you're the weakest of us, mentally of course. So, we need to work on that."

And just like that my training began, well I wouldn't call but training exactly, throwing insults wasn't exactly making me feel any better. Not only that but Druig begin training me in hand-to-hand combat. Everyday I would easily lose to him, I would have to get up every time and try my best to fight him.

But every time I did I would get angry and frustrated at him but disappointed in myself. We were standing away from each other, far from where the humans were.

They worked day and night gorgeous small area to be called home. Druig had his own place and I had a mine, a small cabin for one right next to his.

It was connected to his since he insisted then I have to stay close to him in case I would lash out on anyone. Since then I had kept to myself and hid in my room, I already hurt some humans in the past nearly killing them that's the reason why I wasn't allowed to fight next right my team.

Druig had come into my room and dragged me outside to train down more. I wasn't feeling good at all and he already knew for some reason I think he wants me to get angry at him, at the world.

"Gilgamesh is probably having it easier than I am. Do you want to go back to them? be the same as you have always been locked up in your room?"

"If it means not harming anyone-"

"Enough!" Druig shouted. I guess he already lost his patience with me, so was I.

"You think this is easy for me? I hate getting angry at the slightest of things, my emotions the way I feel can create storms and disasters. You are helping me at all you're just making me feel worse!" I shouted back and Earth beneath our feet began to shake once again and I noticed it breaking.

A large hole was created between us, a strong wind surrounded us and my eyes began to glow. I had enough of the same routine and treatment I was receiving.

Druig seemed unfazed. "You don't see it but I'm actually trying to help you." I heard him scoff to himself. "You're tougher to deal with than with humans."

That's enough. I started walking towards him and then running, I raised my fist when I was close to him and began to fight him like he told me he wanted, Druig easily avoiding my attacks but as soon as I turned around I kicked the stomach, he took in a deep breath and was now the one dodging my attacks.

We both began to fight one another. I realized I had made him bleed a bit, "This has to work." I heard him say my before he raised his hand up and his eyes began to glow again.

I immediately stopped attacking him and remained still. I blinked a couple of times and my eyes returned it to normal, I no longer felt the need to fight him. I was confused, I thought us Eternals couldn't do this to one another, take control.

"How are you feeling? I can see you're confused. Mind-controlling you will make things easier for you. I can't exactly take control over you entirely, but I can make you feel less insecure. You need to open up to me and work with me. I can't do this on my own, this is your body and you have full control over it."

Druig was now in front of me and held my head. "We can both work this out, in the meantime I'll be controlling I don't know how long it'll take, but we need you on our side not the enemy."

I feel like I wasn't completely myself, I felt sort of relieved that at least for now I didn't have to worry about harming myself or others.

"I know you aren't entirely bad. Your powers only unleash when you feel anger, so you need to learn to love yourself and I will help you. Do you trust me?"

Druig look down on me gave me a genuine smile, he offered me his hand and slowly I took it and smile back at him. All this time he used to look at me so coldly and now he's seeing you with different eyes.

"Okay, I trust you Druig."

I don't know how long this will take for me, maybe centuries but at least I know I have a friend who is willing to help you look after me. I don't know why but I am glad that Druig chose me.

“Thena! I can talk to animals!” You tell her one day, holding a small bird in your hand. “I just heard this bird talk to me, I promise”

Thena turns to face you, confused but also intrigued. “Really? What did the little one say?”

“Well, it said that–” as if on cue, the bird chirped. “That you are the most lovely, wonderful, and awe-inspiring person in the universe.” You leaned closer to her, “And that… you are fiercely loyal and protective to your loved ones,”

You trust him very much with your life, you really do but the way he has been touchy the entire day? constantly being around in your presence? The other Eternals trying to keep themselves from laughing whenever they see you? Certainly not suspicious actions

You tried to approach Sersi once to ask something before Druig appeared at your side, almost scaring the wits out of you

You confront him on what he’s doing and this man basically goes: “I’m not doing anything. Maybe you’re imagining things, love” before tugging you someplace private

Okay, maybe his idea of ‘pranks’ is spreading an obscene amount of time with you - and maybe, just maybe, you don’t mind it at all.

A full-on prank war, no one is spared. It’s either you two are fighting against each other or trying to cause minor inconveniences towards EVERYONE

god forbid anyone who gets caught in the line of fire - Kingo tried to intervene once and he ended up with his hair green for an entire month;

Happiness, relief and uneasiness all washed over you after finally being reunited with your fellow eternals. It had been 500 years and while you knew each of them could fend for themselves, you loved them too much not to worry in their absence. You began to feel uneasy when you realised some of your friends were missing, Ajak in particular, because you doubted that any major undertaking of the eternals would escape her presence. Your worry was justified when you heard of her death, the true meaning of your mission and the return of the deviants.

Just this morning you had woken up with a content and safe feeling, tucked away safely in the depths of the Amazonian rainforest with Druig, it seemed like nothing could hurt you. Turns out you were very wrong.

Druig had been quick to react and decide that he was not going to help, and as much as you wanted to run after him and change his mind, you decided staying, and helping come up with a solution for your problems would be the better option. You quickly reconnected with all your friends and realised that, despite your happiness here, you had missed them awfully.

Not long after Thena and Gilgamesh left to get some air, the rest of the eternals disbanded and went on to explore the village. You figured that finding food and a place for them to stay was better than giving a tour, so of you went to find snacks.

In your house you found Druig, he seemed calm and acted as if nothing happened earlier, as if the rest of the eternals weren't even visiting. He greeted you and watched you as you went around the house trying to find if you had any quick food to serve your friends. Upon realising the house was entirely snack-less, you wanted to see if you could find anything in the mess hall but before you finished putting on your shoes, you heard Druig coming up behind you.

“So, are you going to leave me then?” he said, and you turned around to face him, one foot still shoe-less. “That's a very loaded way of asking whether I will be helping save humanity and this planet.” You wanted to reach for his hand, but he held them behind his back. “But yes, of course I will.” His cold stance didn't escape you; it was the way he acted towards the villagers. “You're free to join, they don't show it, but I know the others have missed you too,” you grabbed your other shoe and hopped to a stool to put it one.

He turned to you again but before he could say anything cynical, like you knew he would, you told him, "and after we save the world we'll come back here and live in peace and quiet.” You knew that wishful thinking wasn't going to convince him but at least it lifted the grim ambiance that had been surrounding you since the others arrived. Or so you thought.

He couldn't put a finger on the strange feeling that overcame him, but Druig was not satisfied. Maybe it was the fact that you had been together for over 2000 years and now you were leaving him to maybe never come back. Or that when you followed him on those stairs in Tenochtitlan you chose him and chose to the others behind and now you were choosing them and leaving him behind. Whatever it was, he didn't want to lose you and, as selfish as it might be, he would do anything to make you stay.

You made your first steps towards the door and as you did, Druig grabbed a hold of your hand semi-spinning you around until you were in his arms. To stabilise yourself you put one hand on his chest and when you realised how close you were to him, you giggled a little. “What?”, he asked. “Well, it's just such a contrast, all day you've been closed off and cold, not just towards me but towards our friends. Who, mind you, we haven't seen in 500 years! And now, here you are spinning me around and holding me so close, like you haven't seen me in 500 years.” A smile still played on your lips but when you saw his serious face your mind finally decided to do some thinking. It didn't take long; the puzzle pieces fell together almost instantly.

“Wait a minute, are you jealous?” you said, far too amused for your own good. “No, absolutely not,” he stated in the same tone as when he denied your friends his help, but you knew better. “Um, I think you are, and it is adorable really, in 2000 years of us being together I have never seen this and my oh my what a shame.” Druig could feel your glee and before being able to form any coherent sort of protest you added, “and it looks really good on you.”

“I am not jealous, I am worried.” He looked directly at you and seemed completely unfazed by your entertained look. “You could get yourself hurt or even killed, and then what? I would be completely alone forever, wallowing in grief.” “And self-pity,” you added.

Despite playing it of for laughs, you had been worried about dying and how, if Druig didn't come with you, you would never see him again. Never be able to look into his eyes again and never be able to tell him you loved him so very much. Your face darkened but Druig knew you would never voluntarily stay and leave the others to fend for themselves. “And maybe,” he continued, “just maybe, I am a little jealous.” He waited for you to say something, but you remained quiet. “When you followed me down the stairs in Tenochtitlan,” he started, a little insecure about how you would feel, “you chose me, you left the others behind to follow me and live god knows how, god knows where.” He lifted his hand, the one not holding you and held your face. “And now, you're running of to god knows where and leaving me.”

You didn't know what to say, you understood his feeling and had even been worried this might come up. You tried opening your mouth to say something but decided it much better to just kiss him instead.

For a little while it seemed that there were no problems, no deviants, no end of the world, just you two, close together. He held you tightly, if it were up to Druig you would never be farther away from him than this, but in the end even eternals need to breathe, and you pulled away.

Before either of you could say anything, you heard a loud noise and turned your heads towards the door in shock. Hearing an all-too-familiar roar, you spoke quicker than you could think. “Deviants.”

being a romani fan is knowing that we actually don't know anything at all about what he got up to most of the time. all we know is that he had known shut in merlin risking his safety to help him, leonardo da vinci dropping her perfect smile while worrying about him, and that he moved gilgamesh enough to receive kindness the king typically only showed to enkidu. he may have had everyone else fooled, but not those three. their actions tell a lot about how tough things really were, and after the lostroom bit especially i think the title "dr. hero" might've been even more accurate than everyone thought. what else do you call somebody whose "guilty pleasure" at least half of the time was likely just using secret tech to reaffirm that his basically kids were safe and having fun in the future?

what i would give for an OVA for grand order….maybe animate at least one of the events with romani in it? TvT yeah grand carnival is fun it made me really happy because of the memes and shenanigans and that theres no singularity but its different if its the heart warming type where you get to witness another banter between the beautiful inventor and chaldea’s beloved doctor, to see an ordinary master and a girl who loved the blue sky, enjoying the current moment between them….

Imagine if Nasu wrote a story where, maybe years from now a random person picks up a book, a note book filled with countless tales of love and hope, of pain and sacrifice, of living and dying, of choosing a decision no matter how much it will hurt or how much it will break you, a story where stargazers paved the way for humanity. All because of that desire to live. Their desire born of hope. Like passing down the torch.

Said person is absolutely bewildered at the stories told. Can you imagine living under the same roof as famous historical figures, gods, beasts, legends throughout history? I sure wouldnt. But everything in the book is detailed and life-like it felt like it really happened. Imagine the person being curious about the man who is fondly called after what people always sought, what people always experienced. A doctor of romance and emotion who was once one of the greatest kings to exist? A renowned genius helping an organization save the world? A human fused with an Arthurian legend? And a plain, ordinary human able to summon extraordinary heroes in their quest for humanity? Really absurd.

Eternals, initial thoughts

I saw it. Spoiler cut.

I've been posting about ETERNALS for weeks and I started to feel a bit guilty, like I was a corporate shill. What if I didn't like it? And it was as bad as some reviewers were saying.

I'm pleased to say it's fine.

I don't think it's "the worst" Marvel Studios movie. (I still think that's Incredible Hulk, which I had trouble connecting to.) I don't think it's "the best" either. (Probably Black Panther but the ones I rewatch the most is either Thor Ragnarok or Iron Man.)

This does have a huge villain problem. In that the Deviants are not individualized. I thought perhaps Kro would be more, but he's not. He's just sort of the biggest Deviant.

And of course the Celestials as the ultimate bad guy (spoilers I guess) is very difficult because they are huge space gods and there isn't much there there.

I'd put it on a Guardians Vol 2 level of "I don't care about this bad guy"? Maybe?

I thought Gemma Chan was great. She's definitely the lead and I'm so happy we have our first WOC lead actress.

I, of course, loved Salma Hayek. I read one review that said she didn't get enough to do and they wanted her to be more Salma Hayek-y. When I read that I thought it was racist and they wanted her to be a Latina stereotype. And after seeing the film, it's racist and they want her to be a Latina stereotype.

She was so Salma Hayek. But not the funny, loud Salma Hayek. This is the Salma Hayek who has rescued nine stray dogs she was worried were going to die on the street, adopted a pet owl and who knows how many random animals. I'm so glad we get to see that side of her on film because she is a humanitarian and someone who is a protector. (She is also gorgeous and funny and smart and a good writer. Women can be lots of things!)

I had sort of guessed from the marketing (we never see her at the end battle) that Ajax would die. I was prepared for that. I wasn't prepared for Gilgamesh. I need time to process that.

I loved Kumail as Kingo and Brian as Phastos. Of course I loved Phastos. No one clapped with me when Phastos kissed Ben. I really wished we got to spend more time with Phastos, Ben and Jack. I'm worried about Ben and Jack now that Phastos is gone!

Oh, no now I'm thinking about Ben and Jack seeing Phastos taken away like Dane saw Seresi taken away. I'm going to be worrying about this for years, I suspect. I had been so worried something might happen to Ben or Jack, I wasn't worried about Phastos enough!

PROTECT THE GAY FAMILY.

The one element I expected to connect to that I didn't was Thena. I was very emotional when I heard she had mental illness and something like PTSD. I have depression and anxiety and have suffered PTSD from a sexual assault. And I know Angelina Jolie has dealt with mental illness in her life as well. But it felt more like a plot contrivance that kept her weak at convenient moments. I kind of would've liked her to fight at the end with the white eyes, sort of just let her go nuts (like the Hulk). Sometimes that is what you want.

But perhaps if they explore it more that she has real memories of previous planets and they have traumatized her, I could get on board.

What else?

Oh regarding the post-credits scenes, everyone told me Harry Styles was in it but no one told me PATTON OSWALT was in it. I'm a nerd, people. You are burying the lede.

Also was that Jeffrey Wright's voice at the end? Is the Watcher talking to Dane?

i finished the fate route!!!! i couldnt finish it friday and i couldnt play saturday, so i took longer than i would have preferred;;; i think i have strong feelings abt it? this may be a situation where in two and a half hours i send another ask saying "i was stupid this is what i really think"

i think that, for one, what i Wanted is like, a happy ending where saber and tohsaka and emiya and everybody all live together happy endings yknow - but i think, while i dont know abt the other two routes, that Doesnt Fit This One! i think the emphasis on how arturias end goal isnt morally bad wouldnt have hit as well / at all if it ended with her happily living with shirou

as well: EMIYA IS,,,, WAYYYYY BETTER. in the beginning i was actually DREADING having to play 60 hours or whatever of this guy but he is way better way fast, and i actively liked him by the ending

arturia is really well written too!!!! my like,,, big fear is that. maybe some of the characterization she got in this route will be tossed aside in the others where she is not the only focus? i really hope thats not the case but im a bit worried

illya, tohsaka, and sakura the most didnt get very much, and it was kind of deadly for sakura. again this might be a situation where the only solution is to finish the game, but sakura at the moment comes off as mildly annoying at best and im just waiting for her to get more

gilgamesh ruled, fantastic villain! this is me cheating a little bit using knowledge i had previously, But. im relatively confident that archer will get more to do in the tohsaka route, ofc, and in the sakura route like. i dont know how to describe it, but i think she basically goes insane and kills people? like i think shes a tornado im honestly not sure

part of me wishes that they stuck to the horror side that we saw with the coffins near the end? i want more of that Tone, and you said a while ago that like. each route Felt Like Another Game, so part of me is hoping that i get that in blade works or heavens feel (im not sure which is first)

to be more succinct: i really liked the ending, and i think they did a really good job of making me like shirou and arturia, who are ofc the most important people to like in this route. my biggest fear is that it wont give arturia as much to do in the tohsaka route, and i really hope we get huge tone changes as well - more of the scary bits!

im gonna go through the bad ends now - i dont think there will be TOO much super interesting stuff, but i thought the few tiger dojos were cute and i love fujimura so

first and foremost, MAJOR congratulations! having finished Fate route, you've officially had An Experience that you literally can't currently have any other way (not even in a pretentious vn fan way, but in the sense that the deen adaptation makes a lot up and mixes in other routes, so the full vn story is literally only possible to experience this way!)

the framing of the final scabbard scene is one of those things that's like, absolutely a "you've gotta see it to believe it"

anyway I'll keep my reply brief because I'm gonna reassure you a lot at once and don't wanna spoil anything too specific, but the next few routes absolutely play off the characterization you've seen so far and use it to allow the main cast to develop faster, and then deeper as they progress into further exploration. so while not quite a sequel, expect Saber, Shirou, Rin, et al to experience growth moments sooner to the point where each following route feels like a sequel more than a reversion to zero

also, rest assured that horror is on its way. nasu just likes to tease the full scope of how bad things are in early routes

so glad you get to enjoy it (relatively, given how impossible a true blind read is haha) with fresh eyes! enjoy UBW when you get around to it; it's raw shounen glory, and honestly holds up so well it could've been written today

also, food for thought, notice that shirou's role in the story is actually best described as "heroine" and would traditionally be filled by a female character. just a neat little subversion that's half a product of fate originally being an otome on first draft and half a product of nasu's genuine interest in playing with themes of gender

Sonic, Punch and Gilgamesh are the same. Because they are Punch. Or as my research, Sonic, Punch and Gilgamesh are not actually alike....they're technically the same. I designed Punch a long time ago and even created her own personality, but when I compared it, I found that her personality and demeanour were the same, even her body language.(Announce9 #: design analysis part 1 and part 2) The year 2023's results were considered a success for Sonic, making me more certain that they are the same and that it was the right decision to choose Sonic. I'm very thankful to you for the hard work of the Sonic team. Because Sonic's work is considered very good, I revealed that in fact, I brought Sonic to study in the first place because I was studying Mesopotamia and was checking to see if Gilgamesh really had a personality similar to Sonic and Punch. Or this is a really coincidence?(Seems that way) As my research so far I chose Gilgamesh from Type-Moon because I really sure that he's similar to the real King Gilgamesh from Epic the most.(Also, I don't believe every story in the epic of Gilgamesh for someone who wants to know. I felt like this wasn't right if the real King Gilgamesh would do that. That doesn't make sense.) That's why I need to put history or even their owner not only because they don't know about this even other cultures but because I tried to find the truth in history world that garden Babylon or even King Gilgamesh or King Arthur real in this world? I felt like these two kings did connect somehow.

The story is even more shocking than that. Velvet gave me the title, "Sonic Crowe". You guys even treat me like I am a part of this family. At that time with fight Exeller, when you shout, you're not going to abandon someone you love, it just....shattered the wall that I'd built up around me.

Syaoran: I mean.....I can't let you die at that time, sorry.

Sonic: To be honest…because until that moment, I'd seen you as a means to an end. I thought of you as a way to be strong and to obtain Excalibur. But after that time when Bandit captured me and you jumped to protect me, one time became two and before I knew it, you'd call me your family. It didn't matter that we were different. You cared for me as you would any other people. Before then, I'd never even dreamed I could have my "real family" on my own.

Syaoran knew where to find Sonic even though he didn't fast as much as Sonic. This is an unbreakable bond. Even Tails can guess where Sonic went but when danger comes Tails can't protect him fast like Syaoran. The same way for Danny and Punch as well, Danny knew where Punch went even when she got lost, and Danny knew where to find her even without ghost form. The same way for Peter and Enkidu with Gilgamesh, they love him. They know him. And they respect him. And that knowledge that he'll be okay works out, just like they knew it would. Watch the change in their expressions and body language as he stand back up and smiles at them.

I study petroleum as hard as possible to find the truth of Mesopotamian even mechanics. I finally see my comic can save people that I can't reach them. That's why this year will focas on Syaoran, Peter, Punch and Gilgamesh more as promised. Hope that my Windows 8 will hang on or age much longer.

Q1: IF YOU COULD WRITE YOUR CHARACTER YOUR WAY IN THEIR OWN MOVIE, WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED, WHAT STYLE WOULD IT BE FILMED IN, AND WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

•So, I'm already making a comic that I want to make as an animation for the story of FFXIV with my character and her friends. This character was specifically built for FFXIV, but it has a twist. Kinda like a Sword Art Online ordeal, but instead of Millions of people playing are stuck in the world, it's just like 100, but they aren't stuck, in fact they are just chosen to go between their world and Eorzea. If they die, they don't actually die, but respawn, even in their own world, but they feel how they die and the only way for them to die in any shape or form is by natural cause like old age or sickness. This would be a 2D animation in the anime style and be a multi episode series with multiple seasons. I even though about branching out to go certain routes so that Lyllyan can end up with all my favorite characters. I would call it Final Fantasy XIV: A World Reborn.

Q3: WHY DID YOU START WRITING THIS CHARACTER?

•Lyllyan Weiss was made to represent me and she still does, but also inspires me to be more like my courageous heroic self. Because of this, I have been able to do things like crossing a bridge that's in bad shape to get to the other side without the fear of falling, just to get back to my mom who went to the other side on a trip we had.

Q4: WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO THIS CHARACTER?

•She is literally me.

•Just like me, she is stubborn and hard working, but there are times she pushes herself way too much. She hesitates to ask for help, not because she doesn't trust the people around her, but more of trying to not burden them. Others wish she would open up to them and also rest when she can. Raha has to literally force her to rest, and she nearly gets herself killed against the first battle with Rahjit because she kept getting back up to fight even when the others beg her to stop.

Q6: WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOUR MUSE?

•Almost everything. Major thing is that she doesn't look like me, but also I know when to quit.

• I feel like if Lyllyan and I were to meet in person, we'd get along just fine. We would play video games all day long if we could.

- Leveilleur Twins: Alphinaud and Alisaie are very close to Lyllyan. Alphinaud used to pull Lyllyan out of class to have her hurry up and go through the story, now its chill and play ace attorney. Alphinaud, depending on what route is taken, is definitely in love with Lyllyan and is constantly teased about it by everyone. Alisaie is like a sister to Lyllyan. They have had many nights where the pulled 24 hours playing Sims. Alisaie is who Lyllyan tries to protect the most between the two. She's also the reason why Lyllyan is now Bi. Lyllyan absolutely adores her and if the route is taken, they end up being the cutest couple.

-Leon D'hart: An Alt character that I made that depending on the story and route, he is also Lyllyan's Lover. He is a character made by Square Enix to be the Warrior of Light replacement if Lyllyan did not succeed in preventing herself becoming a light warden. His story with her is a bunch of trial and tribulations, but in the end they do end up married.

-G'raha Tia/Crystal Exarch: The main story Lyllyan's Lover. Great friend to start out and tears were shed when he sealed himself into the tower. He really kept Lyllyan guessing when he was Exarch. When Emet-Selch kidnapped him, Lyllyan was hellbent on getting him back. Now she visits him at the first everyday bring stuff from Eorzea for him, and even occasionally stuff from her world. He is her world as she is to him.

-The Scions: Thancred and Lyllyan are like Big brother, Little sister. He protects her, and scolds her as such. They may act like they hate each other, but the moment either gets hurt, the other is at their sides. Though rumor has it that Thancred had feelings for Lyllyan. Y'shtola is close to Lyllyan, but is usually not around often. Shtola usually is often around to keep an eye on Lyllyan's aether since her amount is quite high compared to the others and her fellow Warriors of Light. Urianger is someone who used to hardly talk to Lyllyan, but started opening up more after the years. He had watched her grow from 15 moons to now 21 as the others, but they seem to be more special to him. Lyllyan swore to protect him if anything ever happened especially after he asked her her thoughts on his new attire. Tataru is a precious angel and if anyone was to hurt her, Lyllyan would kill everyone and then herself. Ryne, even though she is not a scion, she is a scion. Ryne worries about Lyllyan, but is often in awe of her. Lyllyan and Thancred adopted her, and she's ended up calling Lyllyan mom on many occasions.

-Ser Aymeric: Depending on the route, he would be Lyllyan's Lover and he tries to protect her when he can, be it politics or in war. He has a dream to journey with her, and though he can't do so with Lylyan Weiss the Au Ra, there is nothing saying he can't make a character and become a Warrior of Light himself and travel with Sakura Yue(Lyllyan's Alt).

-Zenos Yae Galvus: So this guy commits Seppuku and then shows up at Lyllyan's job as her new Bartender. They end up becoming friends through the job, and the fact that Zenos is bored out of his mind that he can't go kill people,but finding out later that he is back makes Square Enix themselves worried about this guy.

-Estinien: Lyllyan had adopted him as her Edgy Son. He hates it. He reminds her that he is older than him, and she retorts about beating him as a Lalafel. He usually starts brooding after that on a high building that usually takes Alphinaud and Ser Aymeric to get him down.

•I'm only stopping this cause there are so many more characters!!!

Q9:WHAT GIVES YOU INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR MUSE?

•Music and Playing Final Fantasy. Mainly XIV, but others do count too, but also reading all the other fanfiction and comics about final fantasy XIV.

Okay SO.

Pending that I have most of my oc retcon taken care of, I'll give my review on the anime briefly-

1- I want to punch Gilgamesh in the face.

Like. So hard. You don't even know. We were gyped when it came to his look in the anime versus how he looks in game. I hope he aged so fucking hard. That broom on his face is the real fashion crime and the broom did nothing wrong to deserve that. It was a murder.

2- No matter what- I think Somnus is a dick.

It doesn't excuse Ardyn's actions against an unknowing Noctis in-game, but it DOES give me fuel as a fan-fic writer to fix that. I don't think Somnus is hot, either. And him looking similar to Noctis won't stop me from stabbing him. Hard.

3- Aera is a sweet and darling character, but also a damsel like Lunafreya was.

It hurts me so much that Aera was treated like Lunafreya was. It hurts me more that she got that treatment. But I'm going to try my best in fan-fic form to give her the best friend and support she deserved before death. Furthermore, WHY THE FUCK DON'T ORACLES HAVE BETTER PROTECTION AND SECURITY? Is there some SHORTAGE OF KINGSGLAIVE OR TENEBRAE EQUIVILENT GOING AROUND?

I'm making at least Aera a stronger force than that. Someone my oc s/o for Ardyn looks to. Because if Ardyn can have Somnus roaming around in his mind, Vivian can have Aera roaming her's.

4- Tell me whatever you want- but I'm keeping Ardyn's eyes hazel. Regardless of the scourge or not.

Because blue to hazel doesn't make sense to me. Even if the eye took on that trope of rot and death and any of that- wouldn't it be lighter? It doesn't add up. That doesn't add up to me.

Have I missed anything? No? Good.

Because I have had my own writer's doubts blocking me all night with feels and worries about doing cliche writing. I have been rubbing my temples and panicking like a chicken. I lost my cell charger battery pack, too.

5- Y'all can't stop me. I'm saving Ravus.

Ravus is getting saved in mine. Because killing Ravus was illogical. It had me going-

6- If possible, I'm going to keep Lunafreya alive.

See that? Yeah. That right there was her in Kingsglaive. And I LOVED her outfit in it. She looked like she was ready to go to war for Insomnia. In order to do this- I'm going to have to figure out how to allow the Tidemother scene to happen. To put Luna in some critical condition where Ardyn and Noctis thinks she's dead. As MUCH as I would love to have Noctis paired with Iris- this is an opportunity to me I won't pass up. Maybe that's something I can consider, but I want to make that happy ending happy and possible. My hand was forced by what the Prolouge did. But I'm not going to let it act out of emotion. If it does, I'm going to let it fuel my passion for filling plot holes.

Bearing all that in mind? I'm tired. But I got this.

This is the most challenging plot hole fill I've ever done. As my Editor-san and @count-bassifer know, I love broken storylines. I love broken things and repairing stories for the joy of others. I'm going to TRY. And this kind of thing can only further my talent for quick plot and story repair when it comes to my own original lore.
