Here's some of the people I met at San Jose Galaxy Con 2024 this year!

-Monty Python member John Cleese. He gave me his autograph and his finger in my ear. While he autographed my copy of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," I told him I liked Terry Gilliam's animations and I'm an artist myself. He looked at Domino on my GuineaPigDan shirt and said he liked guinea pigs. :) He also had an interesting Q&A panel that I attended.

-Michael Dorn, the actor for Worf on Star Trek TNG. I told him TNG was the first Star Trek show I saw as a kid, thanks to my parents.

-Weird Al Yankovic. I told him the first music video of his I saw was the Weasel Stomping Day video!

-Captain Kirk aka William Shatner. Like Cleese, he also did a Q&A panel that was interesting to listen to, telling stories like how he helped Patrick Stewart put on pantyhose to protect his legs for the horse riding scene in Star Trek Generations, and how one of his most intimate moments with Leonard Nimoy was bonding with him after the both of them went through nasty divorces at the same time. Very odd stories! Unlike Cleese, Shatner did not get up-close and personal with me and had a little deflector shield between him and guests.

-John Beatty, Marvel artist for the original 1984 Secret Wars comic. The writer for Secret Wars, Jim Shooter, was supposed to be at the con but canceled. I was very lucky to find that Beatty attended though, and I got a poster autographed by him!

Plus too many Little Croquettes jam sessions to count. I went to many of these with @lessjokes and a few with @lizzylizzylizzy. NOFX with @vicwomg was the most memorable since we got to be on stage with the band the whole time. Taylor was the best though, followed by Annabelle Chairlegs and Ruth Radelet and Agar Agar (all of which were part of the Psyched Radio festival, can't wait for next year), and also all the Curling shows were a blast, especially the one with Plash. (Check all of them out if you haven't already!)

You wouldn't typically find Kirk amongst the last-minute shoppers at the mall, but there's a first time for everything, and of course, the first time he agrees to do a Secret Santa among his friends he scores someone he's not super close with. Well, he knows of the person whose name he chose, but not much about them—just that they're one of Joey's friends, maybe a fling at one point, he's not too sure.

He mazes his way through the busy department store with their gift in his hand, his ADHD for once proving helpful as he avoids all of the fixtures. As keen as his senses are, they're not enough; a second later, someone bumps into him and sends him practically backward, crashing into someone else. And after that, he's not so sure how bad it's all dominoed. What he knows is that the guy who bumped into him was an asshole who sped away, and the person he ran into was now on the shiny floor. And Kirk's bag was sitting right next to them, too, but he didn't care about that as much as he did about helping her up.

"Shit," he says, hoisting them to their feet. "You alright? I'm so, so sorry 'bout that. What a class act that guy was, huh?"

Tickle Alphabet - Fives

I've been thinking about Fives recently and decided to write my opinions about him. Then I can use this as basis for a fic I am thinking of (though I also have to come up with behaviors for Rex 😏). As always this alphabet was created by @otomiya-tickles.

A: Aftercare | What is their aftercare like after a heavy round of tickling? :)

Saying this loud and clear: cuddlebug. Expect him to latch on and never let go whether he was the lee or the ler. If his victim is feeling really shy or embarrassed afterword he will crack jokes and tell stories until they’re smiling for a non-tickly reason.

B.2: By | Who do they most enjoy being tickled by?

This boy just loves to be tickled honestly, but if he thought about it, Rex. Fives might’ve been apprehensive/shy about it at first but later on roughhousing with Rex and being how Rex relieves (his own and Fives’) stress is always fun and lifts his mood. 

C: Chase | What are their chances in a chase, both as a lee and ler?

Before becoming a part of the 501st, Fives was not great at getting away from tickle attacks. The Domino Squad (Hevy) always got the jump on him, and if it were 4 v 1? An absolute goner. His ability to run got better later on, as did his ability to hunt down a potential lee. 

D: Death Spot | What is their most ticklish spot?

His underarms 1000%. I have an image ingrained in my head from the reboot Star Trek movies of Bones keeping Kirk steady with a hand slotted under Kirk’s arm, I imagine this with Fives. His brothers want to make sure they have his complete “attention” so they’ll hold him in place, one hand on his shoulder, another under his arm and he hates it. Also, it’s not protected by armor so he’s a goner anytime. Jesse gets Hardcase to help out a lot during any break they can find.

E: Expression | How do they express their wish to tickle/be tickled?

When he was shyer he’d really only make his desire known by getting Hevy’s or Echo’s attention but not clarifying what he needs them for (they catch on quick). He also learns being his goofy, mischievous self will get him what he wants. As for tickling others, he just does it no warning.

F: Fight | What is their behavior in a tickle fight like?

Loud is the first descriptor that comes to mind. Whether he’s being tickled or not he’s laughing and is very boastful. Watch out for his facial hair, he is evil about it. If he has the upper hand it is no secret he will tell you. If the tables turn so does his demeanor he will beg and plead so fast. I have a scene playing out in my head if multiple forces team up against him, his brothers grab his arms to get at his death spot and he crumbles so fast, immediate giggles, wobbly knees, unsure whether to cover his mouth, protect his tickle spots, or fend off his lers. 

G: Gentle | How do they react to gentle tickles?

I don’t see him laughing a lot to these. DEFINITELY squirmy, might bite his lip to contain giggles but for the most part just takes them.

H: Habits | As a lee/ler or both, do they have specific habits when it comes to tickling?

I see Fives doing the same trick over and over to get the better of a sibling. Like with Echo, gaining the high ground (bunk) and holding his brother's feet hostage while the other can’t get up off the floor. Sometimes he can repeat the trick many many times, but some people (Kix and Rex) learn fast and can turn the tables against Fives.

I: Interrogation | How well would they handle a tickle interrogation?

Not great. Not because of how fast he gives in, but because he wants to give in and is either too shy or laughing too hard to get the words out. He learns to tap out and to breathe before trying to talk after sometime.

J: Joy | Their absolute favorite thing about tickling?

I think he likes the funny feeling it gives, he loves an excuse to cuddle his brothers, and he just loves being the reason people are laughing (with him, never at him).

K: Killer Move | As a ler, do they have special skills to use against their lees and drive them crazy with?

GOATEE EVIL EVIL. He will rub his beard and stubble into his lee’s neck or tummy and has 0 qualms about it; he knows it’s an unfair advantage and he’ll never stop.

L: Laughter | What does their laughter sound like when they are tickled?

All of the above, all options selected. Giggles, cackles, snorts, squeals, it really depends on where and how he’s being tickled but giggles and belly laughs are most common.

M: Mornings | Their tickle behavior during mornings?

He is more likely to be a victim of tickle attacks without any provoking because he doesn’t like to get up— he will but he’ll grumble about it, hence the attacks.

N: Nights | Their tickle behavior during nights?

Welcome to Mischief Town, Population 1. Be on guard he is here to play games and pranks, consequences be damned (or very welcome). He is more likely to be the victim of a provoked tickle attack and to tickle many to the ground.

O: Online | Text messaging and social media, do they have some kind of online tickly behavior to tease their lee or ler with?

He would continue his mischief in his squads' chat, he might give hints he is in a tickle mood or send warning for another person to run. As for space tumblr behavior, yea I see it he’s one of us.

P: Partner In Crime | If they were to go after a lee and accept the aid of a tickle partner, who do they prefer to join hands with and why?

DOMINO TWINS BABY. They are a force to be reckoned with. They know each other so well they don’t have to talk they just act. It’s almost scary.

Q: Question | Their response to the question ‘are you ticklish’?

Stutters. For as much confidence he gains and how much he enjoys himself, he gets so embarrassed.

S: Safeword | If they were to suggest the safeword for a tickle session, which word will it be?

Domino, no question. Or tapping out if he’s too —fluttery is the word that came to mind idk why but to me it fits I hope it makes sense to others— to answer.

T: Teasing | Their most favorite methods of teasing their lee/ler?

Wiggly fingers, the almost touches that elicit nervous giggles. Boasting about his advantage and how his lee can’t stop him.

U: Unusual | Do they have some unusual tickle spots? Where?

Arms, if his brothers have him pinned they like to start teasing him with light tickles from his elbows down his biceps on their way to his worst spot. It’s more the itchy type of tickle than anything. If he had to choose something he hated about being tickled it might be that.

V: Victim | As a ler, who is their favorite lee and what makes this person their ultimate victim?

His twin of course! Echo is just too fun not to tease and he already knows every spot so he doesn’t need to learn. Echo’s mischief can be directed at Fives so getting him back is always a victory. Later on as an ARC trooper, he makes sure to initiate cuddle piles with shinies, one of his favorite things is getting them to laugh, relax, and feel safe after their first battles.

W: Word | What is their reaction to the T-word? Can they say it out loud or do they get embarrassed?

it’s situation and ler dependent. If it’s Echo? Not a problem, they can interchange the word over and over. If Rex shows up, Fives is a goner.

When I talk about him being shy, I am thinking about this one post (I have no idea who created it sorry) talking about how pre-Citadel Echo was the more prevalent voice, the one to take action, while Fives followed his lead. One of the first times we see him speak up is his speech during the Battle of Kamino. Because of that I think Fives was pretty shy and reliant on Echo to speak for the both of them in social situations. So even when he gains his voice around others, still imagine the smaller group of 501st we see him with, those are his safe people :)
