Quincy Jones andando por el espacio con Freddie Hubbard tocando la trompeta y fliscorno, Rahsaan Roland Kirk soplando saxo y flauta y Eric Gale rasgueando la guitarra en un álbum A&M CTI de 1969. Es el Quincy más proggie. Temas largos, paisajes sonoros exuberantes, melodías elaboradas con precisión y un elenco de músicos de primer nivel que lo elevan todo a la estratosfera y más allá. En el espacio no hay prisas ni urgencias. Es como si la realidad no existiera. Suspéndete en él, flota, y olvida tus penas y sufrimientos.

Un año después sacó el LP "Gula Matari", de vuelta a la africanidad en el extenso tema que da título al disco con Milt Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Richard Davis, Toots Thielemans, Ron Carter y Hubbard tocando para él.
